Service and Food were both mediocre. Obviously, if you're looking for quality authentic Italian food obviously an Olive Garden is not the "right" place to go, but you would still think they want to try... In season the wait times are ridiculous for something you could make far better at home and there are SO many tables squeezed inside, the music is loud and the people talking is louder, that there is a 0% ambiance factor. I would be embarrassed to go here on a date just because the restaurant is impersonal and rushed feeling. Fridays in the same plaza believe it or not is much more quiet and "high quality" restaurant to this. The food is generally the same at all of the Olive Garden chain places, it's okay food, nothing amazing, nothing terrible. The staff was nice, but not amazing or super friendly. It's just a so-so place for a family outing.

so they have this "complementary" taste of wine ... okay I'm game ... waiter pours a little taste, wife says she'll have a glass ... bill comes - $9.50! for "cheap" merlo house wine??? won't do that again, could've bought a bottle for that!

Wife wanted to go. Food is good, but not great. Soup is a favorite. Got the pasta fagole (I know I spelled that wrong). Got the eggplant too. What was great was the service for a change. Maybe a little to fast.

I love the consistency of the food quality and portions at US Olive Gardens. We stay away from the one in Calgary where we live as it is horrible. (bad management) We went in and expected a huge wait at 5pm on a Fri night but noooo wait at all. Shocking. Maybe this is the usual here in Estero, I have no idea but I have never been to an Olive garden at dinner time without having to wait, No complaints on the food. Soup was served hot, the salad chilled, bread sticks fresh and the pastas were yummy. Restaurant overall, clean and inviting. The service was... nothing above average and I think I am being too generous. The waitress was very sweet but forgetful and slow. She brought me a beer when I ordered a glass of wine. She offered me a sample of the wine to taste prior to me making my choice but just brought me a whole random bottle, that kind of thing. Come here for good value (gotta love the included break sticks, salad, soup) and consistent quality.

I always get the same thing, salad and soup. Not many veggie & gluten free choices. Go for lunch, service is very good. The restaurant has some cozy rooms for big families. Best part is they still give out chocolate mints with your bill.

We have been to this location twice this winter/spring. Both times the food was prepared well and if you have eaten at Olive Garden you know what to expect. This second visit we noticed something unusual. Management was trying to control the seating (I am guessing due to a shortage of either wait or kitchen staff (or both)) by not seating people. We waited 20 minutes to be seated and noticed a great number of empty tables and booths when we were finally seated. At least this gave everyone a chance to head elsewhere if they did not want to wait 30 minutes to be seated (they were very honest about the expected wait). I give them a lot of credit for handling the situation in this manner. Those who were seated did not have extreme waits for service while those waiting to be seated had the option of going elsewhere.

Crap service. Server was more interested in the larger "more profitable" table than ours. And by that I mean, not interested on us at all. Soup, no kale. Wine, no water offer. Bread, like every OG in the area, lacked salt, but they're always better the second time around. No manager in site. Our lucky server also happened to be some person who signs off on other people getting their work done. Because everyone kept coming to her and listing off things they did. Probably a nice girl. But she circled her wagons when the going got tough, stuck with the 7 top and paid my wife and I nearly 0 attention, and we paid the price. I'm sure we will meander back at some point. But I believe I'll try 100 other places before I begrudgingly get pulled back. It will probably be someone else's decision, and I will capitulate. I wonder if yelp is going to continue to knock out bad reviews. I just started "yelping" and they filtered reviews out of the star rating. What good is the service? This is why I was reluctant to even join.

My husband drove from Bonita to estero to get us take out tonight. Upon arriving back home (45 minutes later) they had forgotten his chicken parm and messed up one of our kids pizzas and put my side of 'crisp' asparagus in with my mashed potatoes and rosemary chicken...now they are soaked asparagus. When my husband called to report this she said "oh yeah...that was me. Sorry. I noticed that your parm was left out after you left." Thankfully my husband just said to please re prepare the meals and he was on his way...again. They had his number why did she not call before he was 15 miles away?!? I should hope they'll not only comp this meal but offer us back our gift card for the inconvenience. 2 hours of our day wasted.lol!! On a plus side they nailed the side of broccoli, the plain noodles and the breadsticks.

I've been to this location a few times and that's probably enough for now. You simply don't get the service or attention when you are a student here. It's a crappy feeling knowing once you walk in the door you'll probably be put on the back burner if any other table of people come in. Today I came in for the unlimited soup and salad lunch, hoping for a different experience but it was all to the same. We were never asked if we wanted more salad and it was just taken away from us before anything could be said. We also wanted to try a different soup after the first one but once again the server just blew us off and brought the same soup out again. I know there was other people there but there was only 2 other tables the person was waiting on. The salad as always was great and the soup & breadsticks were solid. I just wish students or the "younger folk" would be treated with the same respect as others.

O dear. This otherwise pretty place at Coconut Point is showing some stress. Prices are increasing, which I do not begrudge. They are increasing at the local grocery, and the wholesalers are not getting any breaks either. But the scrimping and accommodating is showing on the plate. I ordered a newly created Special for lunch. Chicken Marsala, allegedly. The very small chicken breast was corded with gristle. It's pictured on the menu under a pile of mushrooms. I turned into a mad scientist, dissecting the assemblage. Under a viscous gravy and after the chicken were three meager slices of mushroom. Good thing my eyes are good. Could have missed them, along with the flecks of sun dried tomato. The cheese base was left on the warmer too long because it had acquired a dark skin. A surprise, for sure, because this was excavated under the rest of the mess. For the uninitiated like me, please know that are two bellinis on the menu. I asked for the one with Prosecco, which I still believe to be unequivocally sparkly wine,. Instead,I found myself staring at a tall water glass filled with ice tea, zapped with a fruity fake flavoring, and topped with a single slice of frozen peach. To Olive Garden's credit, It quickly and graciously replaced the southern syrup with the alcoholic version. Another ingredient puzzle arrived at the table to put me in a deeper, dark mood. The drink was a smoothie of peach juice, hard frozen peach slices, and thick shopped ice, in a parfait glass with a straw wide enough to double as a fire hose standing straight up. Helloooo? Any vino in there? Dunno. Service was very nice, but not necessarily conscious. Bread sticks came at the end of the meal, and only after a request. So disappointing.

Most of the time we choose a large "chain" restaurant is the hope and promise of good and dependable food/recipes. This time for us was on the way to a movie and we had a gift card. The food was really good and seeing that I was on a special cleanse diet at the time (no meat, no dairy) the chef really did a great job creating a dish with flavor. The best part of the night without a doubt was Daniel our server, the young man greeted us with a huge smile and was quick and responsive to our requests. He was also great about keeping us informed as to the status of our meal along the way. His great smile and infectious attitude garnered him a 95% tip (which he came back and asked if we had made a mistake?) This honesty was refreshing, this guy should be training others. I have heard too many servers complain about lack of tips, etc. and I get it, but serve your customers like this young man and I am quite certain you will not have anymore financial problems.

Two years ago I swore never to set foot in a olive garden again. Sadly I had to break that promise because of family. I want to start positive with a shoutout to our waiter Gabe who was very friendly and engaging. Which made the whole experience a little better. The salad that you get is good. But come on it is salad. What can go wrong. I ordered the zuppa toscano which is potato and spicy sausage. When it was served the plate on which it was served was dirty. They poored it in the bowl with little attention. The soup was little to strong on salt. And the layer of grease was interesting. All in all the taste was all right. Nothing special. The olive gardens interpretation of original lasagna is interesting. It was four layers of pasta with some dry ricotta cheese in the middle. No sauce no meat. The sauce was poured over the "lasagna". And consisted out of some bland tomato sauce with something that would have to go for sausage or such. How such a basic dish could be so badly done. My wife ordered the stuffed chicken marsala. It was hard to see what was the stuffed part about it and it was burned. It was on the dry side and no taste that popped out. Yet another very mediocre dish. Again I've never been a fan of olive garden. And I never will be. I definitely recommend everyone to go out and to eat at a local restaurant.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
