Italian Cuisine
The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.
Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.
If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.

This place is a hidden GEM! My husband found it after a Google search for Italian near us and the reviews were great so we decided to give it a try. The food and service was five stars for sure!! We started with the calamari and their delicious garlic bread. I had the meatball marinara, my husband had chicken cutlet parmigiana and my mother in law had a veal entree. Every entree was more than enough food with leftovers to take home. The sauces were all very rich in flavor and well cooked. We will definitely be back to this great little spot!

I'm a little perplexed as to what to write. We have been going to Julians Little Italy for the past 7 years and love it. Sadly, our last visit was a bit of a disappointment. We got a server that was new to us and was so dissatisfied with the service. She was rude, uncaring, and acted as if she couldn't be bothered. The point to all of this is, we were the ONLY ONE'S in the place!! It is because of her that it will be a while before/if we go back. However, the food itself was amazing as usual and in the end is the whole reason why we enjoy going there. I'm sure eventually we will go back but just not sure when.

Another fine Italian place we enjoyed with Pinellas friends. We otherwise would not venture that far to Dunedin to find a tiny storefront hidden in a strip mall shared with Save-a-Lot and Doilar tree. We had remarkably fine, friendly service, with good recommendations on choices, including early bird specials as late a 5 pm. The home made Blue Cheese dressing was notably good as was the garlic bread. Among us we had veal marsala, sausage calzone, eggplant parm and cannellini a la Joseph (cheese, spinach, meat filling). All were excellent other than the veal that had an off flavor to the person who ordered it. The server was mortified and offered to bring a different dish, and when decline, removed the dish from the bill. We left with a nice taste from after dinner coffees and marvelous cannoli with homemade filling.

We came here for date night last week and man was it good. We of course ordered the mozzarella sticks and at first they thought they were out which made me sad but they ended up having one order left. The marinara sauce was amazing while the sticks/triangles weren't my favorite the sauce was delicious. I ordered cheese ravioli with marinara sauce and Brandon ordered the spaghetti with giant meatballs. Both were absolutely delicious! I also ordered a cup p of minestrone soup and while I really wasn't a fan Brandon really liked it and so he ended up eating it. The meal was served with garlic bread that was unlimited:-)! There was so much spaghetti Brandon and I both had lunch the next day from it and it was just as good if not better the next day! The servers were very knowledgeable friendly and nice and we will definitely be back.

This is such a nice hidden gem. My family likes to get together for dinner but in Dunedin it's hard to find something that is not too touristy, loud and crowded. This place is so relaxing and the food is consistently delicious. I had the eggplant Parmesan and it was perfect. The waitress was super nice and attentive. It is a true Italian family restaurant. My husband says the cappuccino was just right. The sangria was sweet and tasty.

We love it here! The food is good and great priced. Small and home like. If you looking for a quiet Italian meal without all the hustle of a chain this is your place!

Amazing food, excellent ambiance and generous portions. The wait staff and host were friendly and welcoming. My wife and I enjoyed our first experience so much we chose to dine in a mere week later.

Great lunch spot in Dunedin. The meals are affordable and tasty. During my two recent visits for lunch I've had a meatball sub and the chicken parm. Both were very tasty and served on a fresh baked roll. Sandwiches come with potato salad and a pickle spear. They'll fill you up and get you out the door for less than ten bucks!

This little gem is tucked into a strip mall about ten minutes from the local mall. On a rainy vacation day, we headed in there for dinner. 1. Affordable! With a glass of wine and dinner my total was less than $25. 2. Service! Impeccable. Friendly, fast, accurate. 3. Food! Holy, wow. I ordered the lasagna and was so impressed. It wasn't just a bunch of noodles lost in sauce. It had so much flavor and held together well. I ordered the dinner with the $2 add on of a salad AND soup. You read that. If you can get through your whole meal, good for you. Otherwise, you can take it home and enjoy it later. Honestly, I was so impressed by this place. The interior is charming and LAST not but least, save your receipt and come back to get 10% off of lunch.

Went in for Father's Day. We were impressed as usual by their pastas. My favorite is the eggplant with the cheese ravioli. The flavors are absolutely delightful!! Love sitting in the inner part of their dining room as it has the feel of being in Italy. Glad to have found this place.

Usually, I stay away from Italian restaurants. I always feel as though it is over priced for a plate of noodles and some canned sauce... I can make better at home. I have heard so many locals rave about this place for so long, I finally went . OMG! this place is outstanding! Beautiful sauces and fresh meats and cheeses. Huge portions and meals come with complementary relish tray, garlic bread, salad, and soup...Italian wedding soup was homemade and above average...I was too full to eat my meal by the time it came. I got the toasted ravioli Alfredo... The best Alfredo I've ever had, has small bits of prosciutto and herbs added to sauce. (I have since been back to buy just the sauce for take out to add to my own pasta). The waitress was wonderful, the chef/owner came out to say hello. I learned he used to be the chef for Johnny's in Safety Harbor/Clearwater.. Which has always been a wonderful place to eat. Julian kicks it up a notch and now I don't have to drive so far for my Italian food fix.

We eat here all the time and the food and service are always excellent. But last weekend they catered our daughters wedding and it was outstanding! We got so many compliments on the delicious meatballs and chicken Alfredo it was a huge success! Julian checked in with me a couple days prior just to go over our order one last time and reassure me that everything would be ready and just how we wanted it. We have vegetarian family members so we had to have the pasta separate from the sauce with an additional vegetarian sauce option and they were great about our special situation. They recommended the perfect amount of chafing dishes and provided plenty of food for everyone. We also got bruschetta and cannoli and pizza for the kids. Every bit of food was fantastic and super yummy. Everything was ready when they said it would be and all of the staff was very helpful loading the car and unloading when we returned the chafing dishes. Julian also made a point to thank me for the order personally with a big hug. I love that! Thank you Julian's for making our family event feel like a big Italian family meal! We will use Julian's for all of our parties in the future, we could not have asked for a more perfect outcome!

We've come here many times over the years and have tried most of the menu items. We have narrowed down our favorite dishes to their pizza, anything with the Alfredo sauce, linguine with clam sauce, Caesar salad, any cacciatore, veal with artichokes and their delicious garlic toast that comes with every meal. Rather than getting the "full meal" addition of salad, 3 bean salad and soup, we opt for the Caesar salad at the same price. They have the best Alfredo sauce in the area.

Great gluten-free pizza (probably the best I've tried so far) and very friendly! My only complaint was that when serving a gluten free pizza along with a regular pizza, the gluten-free pizza should be placed on the top of the pizza holder on the table, with the regular pizza on the bottom. The chance of cross-contamination is minimized that way. Other than that, we would definitely eat there often if we lived closer!

The pasta was cooked perfectly and the marinara was worth finding out they sell it. The $2.00 up charge for the meal is the best deal bc u get a cup of soup (Italian wedding excellent), a 3 bean salad (not bad), and a salad (very good Italian salad). I got the veal saltimbocca, but being the first time I've ever eaten it, so I didn't know what to expect, I don't think I'll get that again only bc it was too greasy for me (duh it's cooked in butter & olive oil topped with cheese and baked so of course it's gonna be a bit oily) Parents got the bella bambina (eggplant and veal parmigiana) they enjoyed it. They have fresh homemade garlic toast also delicious. The coffee was good and the Limonchello (sp?) cake just the right finish to your meal. Overall, I'd say I'm looking forward to the next visit to Julian's

If I could give 3 and half stars, I would. This is a very solid neighborhood Italian restaurant. We were greeted by a friendly hostess, shown our table, and the waitress came right away to take our drink order. She helpfully explained that they just recently upgraded their house wines to something better, and made a recommendation of Pinot Grigio for my wife. We ordered our drinks (I got a Peroni) and they came out quickly. We then ordered the bruschetta appetizer. It also came out quickly. The bread was very tasty and crisp with fresh tomatoes and basil on top. It was very fresh, and not overly drenched with olive oil. I ordered the eggplant Parmesan for my meal, as this is my staple meal for an Italian place that I've never visited. The portion was HUGE! I appreciate it, but they could probably save some money and offer smaller portions and nobody would complain. The eggplant was perfectly breaded and fried and cooked just right. My only complaint is that they left the skin on. The skin is very bitter but I'd say about half of Italian chefs leave the skin on and half don't. I don't care for it, but I suppose it's a matter of taste. Overall I'd give the food 4 stars, the service 5 stars, and the decor/atmosphere 3 stars. It''s not dirty, but it's a typical family type restaurant. Julian's is very casual and friendly and it would be perfect for families, or just a dinner for two.

Love this little strip mall italian restaurant. Service was wonderful. Couldnt have been more attentive. Food was outstanding. Nothing fancy, just great italian food. We had the chicken marsala, side of spaghetti, bruschetta, veal parm, meatball appetizer, spaghetti bolognese, and lots of wine and the bill was 90 bucks. Can't beat that.

I was looking for Italian food but nothing like I've had before, I wanted to try something new. There were many to choose from but the pictures posted on yelp pointed me in the direction of Julian's Little Italy. This was my first time dining alone and what an amazing experience! I truly enjoyed myself. The establishment was clean, everyone was friendly, and my meal was amazing! I had the Chicken Saltimbocca a la Romana. DELICIOUS! The host at the front desk was very welcoming (he was shocked that I was dining alone) and my server Leslie was an absolute sweetheart! Thank you Julian's Little Italy, I'll definitely dine with you again!

What an awesome little Italian restaurant. I heard about their Veal Parmigiana and I just had to try it. It is my favorite Italian dish. It was unbelievable. It was worth the trip from St. Petersburg. The best I ever had in Florida.!Their bread is home made and their custom blend Blue Cheese salad dressing is to 'die for'. I entertained a customer and with the two drinks plus the meal the bill was $25.00! unbelievable! I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone. It's worth the trip. We came here after reading all the wonderful reviews on yelp. Well, I'm still trying to figure out how to say this, but the food here is mediocre at best. Yes, it's a atmospheric restaurant and for the most part very friendly staff, but the food? Seriously? Clams in white sauce over linguine and shrimp scampi both had an unusual flavor in addition to being without any flavor. I actually added salt to my shrimp scampi to pump it up a little (didn't help). Worst ever shrimp scampi with none of that fabulous buttery garlicky sauce you can't get enough of. It made me sad. The large antipasto salad we ordered to split as an appetizer was tasty and full of ham, pepperoni, cheese, etc. not super large but enough for our purpose. The garlic bread? Really? Thin, dried out pieces of bread stuck in the oven in an attempt to save it. Don't bother, really. Maybe back in the day this was a real Italian place, but now it's just not worth it.

This place is great! Everything we had from their garlic bread, to their blue cheese dressing, minestrone, and wedding soup was wonderful! The chicken parmasean was huge and , the clam and white sauce was fantastic , and the teramisu was very tasty as we'll. the service was great and we will be back. Highly recommended , and very reasonably priced!

Very disappointed. Ordered the lunch-time sausage appetizer, which was very greasy (oil was floating over the tomato sauce) and the sauce was very acidic. The taste and acidity of the sauce seems to clearly indicate it's from a bottle. This appetizer on their website is priced at $5.50 and reiterated on their paper lunch menu. Only problem is, I was charged $6.99. Bait and switch. I also ordered the lunch time chef's salad which is shockingly small and lacking in "content." Two handfuls of iceberg lettuce are joined by about 3 ounces of turkey, ham, and salami cut into little ringlets. Half a hard-boiled egg is included, however the yolk is blue from overcooking. Exactly* 2 thin slices of a small Roma tomato and 2 small cuts of canned ripe black olive finish off the salad. Price - web site says $5.99, paper menu says $5.99. My cost? $7.99. Bait and switcharoonie #2. So net/net I was overcharged 30.4% for a greasy appetizer and a small, underrepresented salad. I asked the lady who checked me out about my bill- and she said the website pricing was old and the paper menu was correct. So why didn't she charge me the prices on the paper menu?

Wonderful little restaurant . Very resonanably priced. This place is not fancy but the food is excellent. I've have several great meals here and have not been disappointed with anything on the menu. A unexpected find in a strip shopping center.

Very good Italian food and good service. We had ala artichokes and it was excellent. The prices are very low - our total bill with two dinners and a glass of wine was only $36! If you want a good meal at a fair price try this spot.

Celebrated Christmas Eve with family last evening at Julians. Very pleased. Had wonderful service (Thank you Trista) for a lovely dinner. We ordered our the dinners with the extra soup, salad and three bean salad. I had the linguine with white claim sauce and it was so much better than others I have had in area restaurant. It was wonderful. My hubby had the Chicken Cacciatore and raved since he does not like dark meat. It was made with only white meat chicken and was still very moist and flavorful. I tasted his dish and was impressed. There was a haddock special with crabmeat that my mother ordered and loved it. Definitely, a jewel of a restaurant located in a very ordinary strip mall.

Stopped in here to have a quick bite while waiting for tires to be put on the SUV and was so happy I did. The decor is nothing fancy, but homey Italian and the music set the tone. I was happy when I walked in. My waitress was fantastic, couldn't have been nicer and more efficient. Just had a sandwich, which came with potato salad and a pickle. I was hesitant at first. I rarely like "other people's" potato salad, but it was very good. I am going to go back for dinner and try it again. If you are in the Dunedin area, give this place a try.

This was mine and my fiancé's first time here and we were really happy with the place and service. Its small inside but its romantic. You get a lot of food for your money. We don't live here but when we visit I grabbed a menu to leave behind so we know to come back.

Stopped in at this quaint little Restaurant last night, not knowing what to expect. First noted the Italian music to put you in an Italian mood, walked in, nice decor, artwork, not over done, just right. Prices are reasonable. I had the Fettuccine Alfredo that had a nice mushroom and prosciuto addition that set it off nicely. The wait staff was friendly, food was prompt and fresh. I definitely recommend it.
