When people said service was slow, they were not kidding. It was not a busy Tuesday night but it took over an hour for a table of four to get our food. The server infrequently checked our table and definitely didn't give any excuse for the slow delivery of our orders. The food is ok but the service is bad.

We ride our bikes down to downtown often and pass Jolli Mons every time based on our past experiences there but this time some friends of ours were there so we stopped in for a drink. I know this place has changed hands a few times over the last decade or so and it seems to keep getting worse. Our friends opted not to eat there considering how expensive everything was and my wife and I only ordered one drink each a $4 bud light draft, yikes! Needless to say we will continue to ride right by it.

I've been here several times - it's a great place to sit on the patio, relax, eat some bar food, and maybe see a local band. Some of their servers are awesome, some not so much. Some of their food is really good, some not so much. Here's what I recommend in the food/drink arena: Nachos - large portion, homemade tortilla chips, some 'real' shredded cheese, lots of nacho cheese sauce, lots of shredded lettuce, sour cream, and pico de gallo. Plenty for 2-3 to share for app and plenty for 1 for a meal. Burgers - always a safe bet here - big and greasy on a decent bun. I find the less complicated, the better (i.e., cheeseburger) Fried stuff - hand cut thin french fries are awesome, onion rings - thin and hand-breaded, wings are supposed to be good too (never tried) Sangria - large pitcher with cinnamon = num! $2 Rolling Rock tall boys during Happy Hour.

This review is late. Late in the sense that the times I went to this establishment it was still Jolli Mons. Upon finally locking the establishment, the initial issue is parking, unless you live close enough to walk or bike. Parking is obnoxiously difficult with tow signs everywhere, it leaves you with a real head scratcher and impending sense of doom, that your car will be gone when you return after a few alcoholic beverages. Inside is an empty shell, with a small nondescript bar, some booths and empty space & walls. Nothing to go out of your way to visit. Enter the back patio and discover paradise. You can see the Pinellas trail. The landscaping is lush & welcoming. There is a covered porch with tables crowded in, like you are in a community hall. Once you get used to the cramped quarters, you have hopefully had a beer or glass of wine and met your nieghbors. Much better, now you can settle in and feel at home, surrounded by friends. No need to ask a server for salt, just ask your table friend from next to you. I love the chill outdoor vibe. So relaxing, refreshing and unpretentious. Simply original and laid back. I Bo not & never will enjoy drinking out of plastic cups. I am not much of a beer drinker, and the plastic cup does no favors to an already cheap wine. I have tried the food on 2 occasions and let's just say this is not their forte. Personally I now abstain from their food, as I hate to throw away money. They have some terrific live bands & what a great spot to enjoy live music, you can even bring your 4 legged family members. You are surrounded by nature and your new friends all digging the music. Being outside give the music a nice tone and quality. Since space is a premium, there is literally dancing in the streets or any surface without tables you can find. It really is a great way to spend a nice weekend day or any evening that they have entertainment. When you leave you are nice and relaxed from the fantastic setting, fresh air, good music & new nieghbors. A little bit of the Islands, right here at home. What's a girl to do? Relax, sit a spell, take your shoes off & ignore the plastic glasses! Review not based on food, rather entertainment status.

Have been back twice more and food is still amazing! Our daughter had the Maine Lobster Roll and said it was fantastic also tried the wonton chips this time WOW! Last time we also really enjoyed the music by Jariah! He was so great, funny, and very talented, hope to see him there again!

Walked up to the outside area and there were so many large dogs that we could barely get to the entrance. Once inside we took a seat at an open booth. We waited 10-15 minutes at a dirty table before waving someone down. The new guy and a bartender clearly did not want to help us, but did finally clean the table, give us menus and take our drink order. They returned with drinks and then several minutes later told us it would be another 45 minutes before they could serve us???? Seriously?! This place is nuts. We left and went to Sea Sea Riders where we were promptly seated and served drinks and dinner. Bizarre! This inside is totally divey and the outside area with live music looked cool. Not sure if I will return to find out how good the food is, or isn't.

This is no longer Jolli mons. It is called Salty Dawg. I could not get service but the outdoor music was pretty good

I love this restaurant! Every time I come down to Dunedin I have to go. Food is made fresh to order. Big portions reasonably priced. I love to go when they have love music. DOG FRIENDLY! Walked my dogs down there and day on the patio. They brought me a dog dish with water. Veggie Burger is amazing and the onion rings are the best I've ever had. If you're looking for fancy decor this is not your spot. It's a very relaxed vibe. Jeans and a t - shirt kinda place. It's right of the bike trail so you can ride your bike. I've been many times and I've airways had great service.

Good place... Home made food. Get the burger! Why 3 stars? The atmosphere is not the best but food is good.
(3)Nancy H.
The food is really good but I gave it three stars because it could be cleaner. I've eaten outdoors twice with friends and our dogs. DOG FRIENDLY! Some of the servers are good but others not so much although most are friendly. I like that they have a lot of homemade items on the menu and some alternative choices for people who don't eat red meat. The veggie burger is huge and scrumptious so much so that I ate the entire meal! I'd go back only because the food is so good! Cleaner is better...just sayin'

Strong on service plus good live music makes the atmosphere nice. The food is forgettable but not awful. I am a repeat customer because it's a nice, family oriented place to hang out with indoor/outdoor seating. Don't expect to be out clubbin' or get a tasty meal, but before and after those activities, this is a really nice spot.

Actually not sure how to rate this place. Never got served. Walked in, sat at the bar for almost 15 minutes, no one came up and asked if I wanted anything. I know the bartender saw me cause he answered a phone call. Kinda weird.

What's not to love about a place with a parrot on the patio that says hello to you upon entering? And this place has live reggae music on the patio with a large bar inside serving up several unique beers on tap. This place has such a fun vibe that it's a great little dive bar to escape to. I tried the dry rub jerk chicken wings which while tasty, the jerk sauce on the side was a bit too spicey for me. Once I switched to bleu cheese they were perfect. My boyfriend and I ordered a burger to share and it was excellent. They mince up bacon meat in the ground beef and that makes it just a bit more special than your regular run of the mill burgers. They also use fresh potatoes for their fries so you know you aren't getting a frozen, pre-cut french fry. I died and went to fatty heaven. Jolli Mon's isn't anything fancy but it does have a surprisingly big menu and a great, laid back style.

Frequently stop here while riding our bikes. Food has been fresh. Have never been disappointed. Live music is always a plus. In response to a negative review, if you don't like dogs, don't go to a outdoor dog friendly restaurant.
(4)Tedd H.
If you like to dine outdoors in a relaxed atmosphere this is your place. The menu has everything from beef burgers to tacos to fish an lots o great beer specials. Check it out if you want to relax with a good beer and some great food. A word of warning the home made hot sauce is a Tad bit on the hot side, but stop in and you be the judge.

The service and the sangria are Jolli Mons shining stars. I know a few of the girls who have worked here for quite some time and they are always fast friendly and attentive. The sangria is fabulous. Literally some of the best I've ever had. The food is hit or miss, but a few items are tasty enough to make it worth it. Some things I've tried were just average, nothing impressive. Other things were super tasty. For example, the fish tacos with rice and beans were fresh and pretty decent flavor. The chicken quesadillas and chorizo empanadas are fabulously tasty. One time I got a burger and it was a bit dry, although it was a large portion size, which I guess helps bump it up a notch. For me, jolli mons is mainly just a pit stop for sangria and live music while out hopping around dunedin (and maybe for a few snacks of empanadas and quesadillas after drinking). The environment is decent as they normally have live music and a fun vibe. Overall, it's not fantastic and not terrible, so it's just A-OK with me.

I used to go to Jolli Mon's 1-2 times a week when I worked over that way. I went back for the first time in a year and found out it has a new owner. They changed the menu which included changes to 2 of my staple meals. The Dry Rub Jerk Chicken wings are still excellent, but the jerk sauce has changed and is a bit to BBQ tasting. They eliminated my favorite Jerk Chicken Sandwich, so I tried the Burger. The minced up bacon in the burger meat which was delicious. They also cut their won fries fresh, which I thought was cool. Overall, we enjoyed our meal, but I will miss my favorite Jerk Chicken Sandwich.

Quaint, casual, eclectic, trendy, friendly, unassuming and directly on the Pinellas Trail. Comfy outdoor seating. Bonus: live music on their outdoor stage during our visit. The grouper tacos were awesome and the burger wrap a tasty handful. Topped off with a cold beer, we were loaded with carbs (fat and happy) and ready to hit the trail. A great stop while biking the Pinellas. Highly recommend.

Used to go here all the time, but since the place has changed ownership it has gone downhill. After the rudest waitress in the world waited on us the last time I will never go back.
(2)Kelly D.
Stopped in here tonight because of a recommendation from a friend. After dinner we learned heh as not been there in over a year and lives right down the street. So the good: it's a bar with inside and outside seating, live music was playing and we did get a beer on tap and it was served promptly and cold. The chicken sandwich with mushrooms was also good. The bad: This place was one of the dirtiest places I have been in. If the food was excellent I would not eat here again based upon that alone. The inside seating had 6 tables and the indoor bar area and something was going on with the bathroom or the AC. It smelled like poop bad while we were waiting on the food. White Crab chowder - was a ton of basil or some seasoning dumped in the cup. Yuck Island slaw- just raw cut up cabbage, no dressing....? Grouper sandwich jerk flavored - horrible sauce and very spicy. This was not my sandwich and I would have refused to eat it. I enjoy spicy food and one bite of this and my mouth was on fire. It was extremely hot ( I love srirchia sauce). The sandwich also was served with no sides. Possibly a miscommunication with the server. Overall, I would never eat here again.

The $10 Sunday Sangria pitchers are one of the best ways to spend a lazy Sunday with friends. We love the live music and food at this unique bar, especially the ample amount of outdoor season which is perfect for sunny Dunedin. Right off the Pinella's trail, this is the perfect spot to grab lunch, drinks with a friend, or a late night out dancing Jolli Mons is a great place to be!
(4)Wendy H.
Jolli Mons is a funky bar with a great big patio, with a stage in one corner for bands. It's not on the water, but right beside the Pinellas Trail which is great for bicyclists. Last year I ate there once or twice and the food was just okay. They now have new owners and the food is really very good. It's pub food, Florida-style. Burgers, wraps, fish tacos, fish and chips, that sort of thing. But really very well done. They used to have music every day almost--I think the music situation is still in flux with the new owners--hope they get this sorted out since that part can be great fun too.
(4)Valarie G.
Slow service but a great alternative for a late night hang-out. Cheap coronas and a laid back atmosphere. The local music is good and it is dog friendly.

I visited Jolli Mons Grill for an event this past week and had a great time. Located just a few blocks off Main Street in downtown Dunedin, Jolli Mons serves up a great variety of dishes with Caribbean flair. My group and I sampled jerk wings, mozzarella cheese sticks and quesdadillas. Everything was great and the bartender Nikki was awesome. I saw some of their other dishes being brought out to guests and was impressed by the size of their burgers. I will be back the next time I am in the area. The only draw-back was that the a/c didn't seem to work inside and it was very hot. Other than that, it is a cool place with a relaxed vibe.
(3)Erin K.
I love JolliMons. The atmosphere is awesome. It's a fun Caribbean themed place, that is laid back, directly off the Pinellas Trail. They have good bands playing nightly and all day Sunday. I have always received great service, especially from Stacy at the bar. Get the Mac & Cheese as a side. So yummy!! JolliMon's is dog friendly too!!!
(5)Sharon T.
What a fun place to park your bike and enjoy sunshine, beer and really cheezy live music.
(4)Nichole C.
I give Jolli Mons a three. The drinks, atmosphere, and location are a FIVE {hello, ten dollar sangria pitchers!!}, the food I was not very impressed with. Today I ordered the chicken caesar wrap, it was loaded with iceberg lettuce {not what generally comes in a caesar salad} and there was hardly any dressing, the fries as a side looked good. They appeared to be hand cut and so I was excited but they were limp and not very crisp. From other reviews it seems like their seafood may be better but a wrap is so simple that I was surprised at the lack of flavor or consistency. But again the vibe of hanging out, drinking large pitchers of sangria while watching football and listening to live music was a perfect way to end the weekend.
(3)Brad S.
Coolest vibe in Dunedin, if you ask me. They have recently upgraded the place significantly, with a new stage for live music, new roof over the existing patio and cool new stained glass doors. The food is all excellent and the beer specials are worth the trip alone. There is live music here nightly and that's probably the main attraction for many people. It's right off the Pinellas bike trail and within a short walk of all that is available in downtown Dunedin, probably the coolest little town in the Bay area. Check this place out.
(5)Philip M.
Relaxed and friendly service. Delicious Mushroom-Swiss burger, cooked just right. Great outdoor seating area.
(4)Peter B.
This place used to be our favorite. The fish tacos, with their special sauce were fantastic. But alas, the service and the food has gone down hill fast. On a recent trip, the server tossed our silverware and napkins on the table and said, "I'll be right back." I gave the place several attempts at redemption but they failed each time. Sorry to say, Jolli Mons Grill is no longer on my food radar. Too bad...right on the Pinellas Trail, with food that I usually enjoy. Just can't put up with poor service and food that "used" to be good.
(2)Gena A.
Ordered a burger, which was supposed to be "to die for". Let's just say, I didn't die. I was disappointed.
(2)Lane R.
We love the Jolli Mons atmosphere. It is laid back and usually there is live music playing. Sundays there are $10 sangria pitchers! Order a few pitchers (I recommend red), a few appetizers and listen to the music all afternoon. The wings are very crispy and of course the fish is always good. I like the fish tacos loaded with their special hot sauce, but beware it packs a punch. Service is usually ok. We have had really terrible service where our server never came back to our table after we ordered a drink and appetizer and we have had great service. I guess it's just hit or miss. Like others have said it is dog friendly which is a plus for us. We take our dog anywhere we can. They always bring out fresh water for the pups.
(4)Greg B.
We heard the music from Main Street and walked two blocks north via the bike path. We sat outdoors and listened to some really good blues/alternative music near the outdoor stage. I had one drink -- Key West Sunset Ale -- which was pretty tasty. Service was okay and the ambiance was above average.
(3)Daniel d.
Good local music, good beer, good food. Dog friendly, Ample outdoor seating. This place is located right on the Pinellas trail. Joggers, walkers, bicyclers all show up. Fun, fun, fun!
(4)Deb A.
soup was not hot, fish tacos were a disappointment. Side black beans and rice was BAD, Should never have been served. Yuk! Hubby had fish sandwich and fries, which he said was good, but fries were limp and very greasy. Service was slow, silverware was dirty, no apologies. Not going back
(1)Richard F.
Was staying next door at Holiday Inn and followed the live reggae music over to Jolli Mons. Very cool joint, with a killer band playing, no cover, and 2 for 1 Red Stripes. Grilled Jerk Wings were great. Total Florida Keys vibe.
(4)Cal W.
New owner, indifferent service new menu, new chairs, warm beer and no local fish on the menu. What a disappointment.
(1)Margie S.
Was a frequent customer before the new owners and absolutely loved the grouper sandwich and Florida salad. Went there today with the new owners. No seafood spread anymore (come on we are in FL!) The jerk sauce that was awesome is gone. The food was waaaaay over salted. The salad was still the same but no longer option of having the fresh grouper or fresh crab topping. We were very disappointment and will not return. Only highlight was staff was very good and attentive.
(2)Loretta M.
My husband and I went on a Saturday around 5:30. There is covered and non-covered outdoor seating, the inside bar and a few inside booths. We sat at an inside booth since it was raining and all the covered tables were taken. It's an older place, nothing fancy, could use an update for sure. Server came over right away for drink order. They have a decent selection beers and wines. I believe they have a full liquor bar too. We ordered nachos, jerk chicken wings and the beef empanadas. The beef empanadas were okay. They tasted good but there is a cube of cheese that could have been cooked more or maybe just sliced thinner, don't get me wrong, it wasn't like it was a block of cold cheese; it was hot, but just not melted. The jerk chicken wings were excellent! I should have gotten 20 and taken more home. The nachos were very good. The chips were freshly deep fried tortilla! They were loaded with cheese, jalapenos, beef, some lettuce, a little tomato, and some shredded cheese. The only thing that would have made these better would have been sour cream. We didn't ask for any so I really can't complain. Food arrived quickly and the servicer check back on us a few times. We will definitely go there again.
(4)Russell B.
Great location! and the Sangria is good, The service could be better as well as the food, but it is worth going to check out the Bands. I hope the place get there act together because it could be a great place.
(2)Randy S.
we've been riding by this place on the Pinellas Trail....no way i'm stopping in bike clothes to have a cold one (Team Fat Guy has rules about walking around in public in the bike shorts). We decided to give it a try before seeing Uncle Johns Band at Dunedin Brewery and it was great. They had their own live music (eclectic, Girl from Ipanema-esque) and pitchers of beer on sale! I had the seaburger, which was crab cake with shrimp on bun and it was quite good, the side of black beans and rice were really tastey too. Others in the group had tacos and wings and everything was good, dont be confused by the name, many diff items on the menu, be sure and ask about the homemade hot sauce. This is a place to be enjoyed outside, so don't get all fussy with inside decor or anything. We'll be back, maybe on bikes (i'll take extra clothes to keep snickering to a minimum) to try more.
(4)Teri P.
Talk about a place that went down hill... New ownership is terrible. Went here and had a medium group of people spread out, outside in the bench section. Was ignored the entire night... 2 people didn't get food after the incorrect food was brought ot them, and an hour wait, so they left... Manager came to apologize for the terrible service and offered free drinks, then came back outside and told us she was being sent home for offering us the drinks by the owner, who refused to come out and speak with anyone about how horrible the service was. Then, completely inept waiter tried to make it one check, and refused to split the checks between 4 different couples and tried making us pay for the people that got tired of waiting and left before their food came.... Food was mediocre at best as well... I had been here a few years ago, and never had a problem....I've spoke with other people that have met this owner and were very turned off... When the owner is a jerk and doesn't care about the customer and their experience...it really shows...I'd stay clear of this dive
(1)M K.
The quality of the service, food and music has really fallen off. Jolli Mons used to be a nice place. Seems like the owner has stopped caring about what happens.
(2)Larry B.
not so great. outdoor seating is ok, but the music system is so loud it is difficult to talk when someone is playing. had the tacos which were 98% lettuce and 2% meat. service was haphazard. Avoid.
(1)Kenny T.
another hole in the wall in dunedin.... nice live music... sometimes to loud. but, relaxing... prices are fair. food is good... would take others there.. I'm not sure if they have full bar.. but, cold beer and wine.. so, if you are out and about or even on your bike on the pinellas county trail... stop by
