Spending the weekend in Clearwater and we popped in on a Friday night with a party of 10. The wait was almost an hour, staff was friendly and atmosphere was great very lay back beach feeling. My husband ordered the Grouper Reuben aka "the Greuben" the mixture of sauerkraut, thousand island dressing and grouper was delish... He order the super serving, we where disappointed at the serving size. I ordered the the "Stuffed" Grouper. Baked, stuffed and topped with crab meet, hollandaise sauce with capers and a side of veggies n coconut rice. The fish cooked to perfection and the rice had the perfect amount of coconut flavor. A must have again dish!

you WILL get sick after they spray for bugs but at least they're spraying for bugs! they have a s***** manager there that must be related to the owners. wish he'd get out of the way because the chefs are artists and the servers are darling and the music is ... oh, the music. I think the idea is to keep the tables turning -- you just can't listen to that for too long locals are bloody awesome bartenders hilarious good beer selection very touristy .. I mean touri$t$ welcome!!

Wife and I stopped in for a late lunch around 3 pm. We ordered side salads and grouper sandwiches. I had a small draft beer, and she had a tea. The bill was $44.xx. Before tip. Waitress was ok, but we had to ask her for drink refills . Food was pretty good but not great . I bet for under 20 bucks , my wife and I could have grabbed a few Filet-o fish value meals. Yea I know not as good but I am not sure the price I paid today was worth it. One last thing the portions are small, even the super size was not super size by anyone's measure . Just a smallish portion on a round roll.

So this was our 5th experience at a Frenchy's were went to all 4 in Clearwater the week before. It was interesting to see how each one has some different drink and menu items. So we met friends here for dinner and expected to have good food, although after tasting the food we had it was absolutely amazing. We had the stuffed crab grouper with coconut rice and vegetable, it was delicious, mouth watering. We also order the stuff avocado with Tuna and Seaweed salad/rice, OMG this was one of the best dishes that I think I have ever tasted, the avocado was perfectly ripe and the ahi tuna was on point. Out of all the frenchy's this may be the absolute best one!! The beer prices were great $3.50, was super happy and the staff was very attentive and always available. We will definitely be back. Kudos on great service, beer and food!!!

Yummy fire island fish tacos. Casual atmosphere and good service. It can get a little loud and warm since there is no air conditioning but fans. Definitely going back.

This is our second time at Frenchy's Outpost. We have gone to Honeymoon Island and after a day at the beach Frenchy's hit the spot. They have great frozen drinks and the Grouper is fresh and delicious as a sandwich, nuggets or entree. The coconut rice is fluffy and the potato salad is one of my favorites. I try to stick to the seafood when we have gone. The crab fries are awesome. The staff is friendly and attentive. Friday evenings can be a bit loud because of the music and crowd. This just adds to the festive atmosphere. We will be back again.

This was my first time trying Frenchy's and it was a good experience. We got the buffalo chicken tender appetizer and the pulled pork nachos appetizer. The buffalo chicken was not that good, I have had much better at other restaurants. The nachos were amazing! And they are huge! We had no idea they were so big. We could have shared that with at least four other people. The pulled pork was sweet and tangy. Also, I had the best potato salad I have had in a very long time. My daughter loved her chicken tender kids meal. Will definitely go again.

Great service, good food and nice chillaxing atmosphere. They also have a few of craft beers to pick from. Must go if in the area.

On our way to Honeymoon Island state park we stopped for a quick bite. Considering the people waiting we thought it might not be so quick! When we checked in they took my cell number and said it was a 20-25 minute wait. We had just enough time to wait at the bar for a few minutes to get a refreshing Michelob Ultra and find a seat, then my phone rang that our table was ready. Love this system! Our service was phenomenal...great waiter!! We tried the Ahi Tuna, fish tacos and I tried a Mango Delight! Perfect amount for us to share on our Mother Daughter Beach Day! Everything tasted great. Being a mango fan, loved the mango salsa for the tacos!

Located on the dunedin causeway, this latest Frenchy's location is perfect. Not because of the view (for that you have to go to Clearwater beach), but it's close to our house and the menu is exactly the same. It's pretty small though, so there could be a bit of a wait if you went during peak hours. We arrived around 630 on a Saturday and were sat immediately. We came for stone crabs since season just began. They were out of jumbo, which was fine, so we ordered the large. For $31/lb, we got 4 large claws, served cold of course, with their mustard dipping sauce. The claws were a great size and full of the sweet meat I was wanting. For our meal, I ordered a special salad-the fiesta. It was a fresh tortilla shell filled with lettuce, corn, cilantro, jalepeno, queso fresco cheese and tortilla strips. It came with your choice of grilled scallops, shrimp or grouper-I went with grouper. For $13 this was a steal. My husband ordered the chicken salad pita with fresh fruit. This pita was packed and fully loaded with fantastic chicken salad. Honestly it was enough to share. His meal was $10 and a true steal, IMHO. Would we return? For sure. Especially considering the proximity to our house, but like I stated, if you're looking for a view, this location does not offer that.

Good food. Seemed busy when we drove by on our way to the beach so we stopped on our way home. Fast service. Would go back if I lived closer

Went to Frenchy's Dunedin Causeway for lunch post high school graduation lunch for my son and his girlfriend. I had the grouper sandwich. I would give it a 4 on the 10 scale. It was a tiny portion and seemed like the cook just put scraps together to make a sandwich. Grouper was all in pieces and fell out of the sandwich when I picked it up and was a small portion. We had a large party. The waitress was good but could not keep up with group and other tables at the same time. There were other servers and staff that could of lent a hand but did not making our total experience and service level poor. We were there about 30 minutes too long waiting for our bill to come out. Brought it up to the hostess stand. Pretty sad while staff just stood there not helping. Pretty sad. Been going to Frenchy's since the original out on Clearwater Beach.

As usual the She Crab soup was amazing! I had the Gruben which was excellent. The waiter was excellent and gave us great service. They get 5 stars for their service and awesome food!

This location really brings the beach bum/tiki bar vibe to basically a strip mall/highway. There is more outdoor seating than indoor (don't worry about rain because most of the outdoor seating area is covered). One of the daily chef's specials was the garlic crab fries. What happens when you put 3 of my favorite things together (garlic + crab + fries)? Pure bliss. I also had the grouper sandwich (you're on the Gulf Coast, you gotta have grouper at some point don't you?) and it was seasoned well and fried perfectly.
(4)
DeAnna P.
They have a breakfast shot that is maple bourbon with buttershots, followed by an OJ chaser with a strip of bacon. Pretty heavenly. The food was great, the grouper was fresh and garlic crab fries with garlic aioli? You are singing my song. The seafood bisque as a little to rich, but a spritz of lemon really improved it. The food came out fast and service was spot on.

Stopped in for a quick dinner with a party of 12 on a Monday night. No reservation, just showed up and we were seated right away. The waiter came right over and took our drink order. Drinks arrived shortly thereafter and we had a few kids in the party so the waiter took their order and our appetizer order while the adults took their time to look over the menu. It seemed like 5 minutes and the appetizer arrived, a basket of onion straws with a dipping sauce. Hot and greasy, not my choice but everyone else enjoyed them. My hubby and I also split a bowl of the she crab soup which was rich, thick and creamy. The soup could be a meal by itself! Not long after this the waiter returned with the kids meals and took our orders. Since this is a Frenchy's location, 95% of our party ordered Grouper sandwiches - grilled, fried or blackened with a side of chips or coleslaw, or up charge for fries. I went with a grilled Grouper, side of fries to split with the hubs. For such a big party I expected the food to take forever but in a short time plates started arriving and the food was all warm. My sandwich was served with a piece of Grouper kinda on the small side but it was grilled nicely with an onion roll, lettuce, tomato, onion. The fries came separate in a basket by themselves perfect for sharing. The waiter kept checking on us and refilling drinks when needed. For such a big party I think we had a great dinner.

As expected, there weren't many options for me, little old vegetarian loner. I tossed between the caesar salad and the veggie burger, and ultimately decided on the veggie burger because carbs. The bread was good but the veggie burger itself wasn't impressive. I had the fried avocado as well, which was so good. The sriacha aoli that came with it was delicious. My mom ordered the Cajun grouper sandwich and she said it was too "thin" whatever that means. I had a beer for $2.50 and afterwards I had a sour patch kids watermelon slurpee from 7-11 down the road so overall it was a decent experience. (10/10 on the slurpee)

Out of my party of 6, 4 of us were experiencing excruciating abdominal pain a few hours after eating at Outpost. We all ate & drank different things. I called to let the manager, Chris, know what was happening and he said nobody else had called complain about food poisoning.. Asked for my name and number incase someone called to complain, as if that was going to do anything for me. I'm a little upset, it has been 24 hours and all 4 of us left work early today. 2 went to a doctor and I am borderline being hospitalized because the pain is getting worse and I have nothing else to keep throwing up.

Great seafood! The fish spread is fresh and the fire island grouper sandwich is delicious with a nice kick! The drinks are affordable and their beer of the month specials certainly help keeping the check at a decent level.

Atmosphere is beach fun even though off the beach. Food is fantastic. Fish tacos are excellent! Fish spread is some of best in town! Beers are great if not best priced in town, and always something for 2.50. This month it's goose island IPA. I have no idea how he keeps his margins selling this quality of beer for 2.50 but I appreciate it!

Nasty pulled pork nachos! The table next to me ordered pulled pork nachos an mann they looked big and good. So, I copied, and like mom said "nothing good comes from copying". I saw the couple wasn't eating them, so I knew I had made a mistake but it was too late. My order came out. I ate a few nasty pieces and then gave up. That night and the next few days were just horrible for me. I ate bread for 2 days to try and make peace with what I had done. DONT COPY ME :) seriously don't do it.

Great first visit to Frenchy's Outpost! Glad to see a promising restaurant take over the space previously occupied by the horrible Island Outpost - thanks Frenchy's for sprucing up the place :) Very similar menu as all their other restaurants. Ordered Tuna Poke and Frenchy's "original" Beer-battered Grouper Sandwich. The Tuna Poke was great - very fresh tasting and love the seaweed salad topping. The Grouper sandwich was great - fresh and hot and a decent portion. I'm so thankful they offer the 'original' (beer battered with american cheese) - it's the combo I had my first visit ever to Rockaway Grill and I'm old school I guess. I was super bummed the last visit to Rockaway when they spruced up the sandwich with provolone and a lighter batter - sometimes trashy/hoggy is better - lol! Having eaten at various Frenchy restaurant's several times I know not to fall head over heels for them based on 1 experience, I've had great meals and horrible meals at their restaurants over the years. I will revisit and hope for a similar experience and upgrade to 5 stars if all goes well. C'mon Frenchy's Outpost, you can do it!!!!

Large portions. Food good. We had fried Groouper. It was good. Wait staff was very friendly, appreciated us tourists. Typical beach bar menu. But served very well. We would definitely try this again, or another of their locations. Great choice too cool off and good eats.

This place is awesome! We really enjoyed it. This was one of the very few times I've had shrimp and it was the best I ever had. I had the grilled beet salad topped with blackened shrimp and it was amazing. My husband had the chicken salad in a tortilla and loved it. We both had rum runners and they were nice and strong. Our server, Dan, was attentive and fast. A little pricey but it's worth it.

Meh. Seated after a few minutes of milling around the host station wondering if we were supposed to seat ourselves. Fish tacos were nasty but my sister liked her buffalo chicken sandwich. Sub par food can be occasionally excusable when you're sitting on Clearwater beach with an amazing view of the Gulf, but not when your view is of apartment complexes and a car wash. Skip this one.

Really good food, clean and good service. I ordered the Buffalo Grouper sandwich and it was really good, I'm looking forward to go back and get same thing again. Only thing I wasn't very happy was the Bloody Mary, it was very liquid, the mix they used wasn't to good, nothing wrong with a strong drink but honestly did taste more vodka than anything else. Overall good experience .

This establishment has a prime location, just before the bride to Honeymoon Island. There is a large inviting patio facing the main road and a small inside section off of the big patio. A friendly hostess greets you and you think you are getting ready for a really enjoyable lunch... you think. I ordered a burger medium, accompanied by lettuce, tomato, raw onions, pickles and mustard. It came with chips or coleslaw with fries being $.99 extra. The burger arrived quite quickly and the server was in a hurry, even though their were few full tables and other servers. I felt is was one of those situations where a woman eating alone and ordering water, my favorite beverage, was thought to be a poor tipper and I was getting the quick hustle. The burger looked beautiful presented on a nicely browned onion roll. Looks are deceiving The bun was fairly hard, the burger was pre-made and not hand formed. The burger was rare the tiny sliver of lettuce and tomato were so meager, it would have been better left off.I tried to find the server to get the burger cooked a bit more and she was nowhere to be found and had already left my bill. I ate around the outside of the burger, where it was a bit more cooked and the hamburger party was tasteless...no seasoning. I ate some great potato chips and had an appointment to keep, so I left my tormented, slightly gnawed burger on the table. What a disappointment, I was hungry and in a hurry and ended up paying for some chips and water. I will not be in any hurry to return to this tourist establishment. What's a girl to do? An establishment is convient, you are running late and you pick the wrong eatery.

We stopped by his place for dinner. We ordered raw oysters, shrimps, and buffalo flat bread. The oysters were ok, not too crazy but not disgusting. I had better. But for the price it was ok. 16$ the dozen. The shrimps were good, the cocktail sauce made the difference. My husband had the buffalo flat bread. He liked it but it was too much sauce and cheese. There were just few pieces of chicken. He didn't eat all of eat... Which is very rare. So it was ok but not crazy. I won't come back here.

I have been here several times now. Different days of the week and at different times and it always seems to be a guessing game on service and food quality. Most of the time Food is yummy and service is acceptable. The best thing is the Garlic Crab Fries which is currently on the specials menu but hopefully they will make it part of the regular menu. Another favorite of mine is Outpost stuffed avocados. The avocados are grilled then filled with tuna poke served on top of sticky rice and seaweed salad. This is great place to eat dinner and then wander out to the Dunedin causeway to watch sunset or spend a few hours out at Honeymoon Island. Most nights there is live music and so it usually loud. There is an "inside" area but there really isn't any difference in temperature or noise in the inside and outside area. There is a nice bar area at the front so don't miss that cozy little corner. Don't worry if there parking lot is full stop in and see if there is a wait and grab a beer from one of the two bars.

Good food. Had grilled grouper sandwich. Moderate prices. Was crowded but service was fast.

The ceviche was a let down, it is mainly cabbage and a small amount of seafood. Worth $6 not $11. This is an okay touristy place but it's over priced for us locals looking to get a light lunch. The service was friendly and the food was good. I did enjoy my jerk spiced grouper sandwich. My husbands fish tacos were predictably average. This was just really expensive for 2 lunches and an appetizer. If there was an ocean view I might want to pay more.

Party of 9 was seated on a busy night in 30 minutes. Best beet salad around and accommodating staff!

Having been born and raised here, I've had many grouper sandwiches in my life. This one topped them all. 5 stars all day.

This was our first visit and it was great. I wanted a Greek Salad made with romaine and not iceburg lettuce and they did that with no issues. My husband had a grouper ruben that was OUTSTANDING! The live music was good and our server was attentive. But it was VERY expensive. I suppose that's par for the course when you are dining close to the water.

After a half hour wait (it WAS Sunday early afternoon, so to be expected), my friend and I were seated. I ordered a sweet tea and got unsweetened tea. My friend had the shrimp flat bread and she said it was great, and it looked good. I ordered a burger, medium rare. It was slightly overcooked at medium. It was one of those preformed burgers from a food wholesaler, not fresh landforms, and was not seasoned at all. Had it not been for the condiments, salt and pepper it would have been flavorless. For me, a disappointment.
(2)
Dana N.
We used to go here a lot when it was just Island Outpost. The wait is usually too long to wait around for. The menu is filled with lots of options but nothing ever really just jumps out at us that screams that sounds delicious! Always safe to go with the grouper. Service is usually pretty good and overall a fun atmosphere.

Frank G.
Excellent local and tourist hang out spot! Great beer selection and drinks. Food is your typical Seafood and American cuisine. Haven't tried a dish I did not enjoy. Nights and weekends get packed. If you are in a hurry don't plan in a quick meal. My two cents: If anything, come for the ambiance alone. The outdoor and open floor plan will only add to a great night out!
(5)

Stopped here yesterday while looking for a quick lunch at an outside venue. The Cajun Grouper Sandwich was pretty good. The onion bun is what made it for me. The coleslaw. . . tasted like coleslaw. My man had a Greek salad with blackened chicken. He said he could have gone either way on but I thought it was great. My only food complaint was that his fries tasted like they had been under a heat lamp for the better part of an hour. One other thing that irked me was that the host had her back to the front door, pretty much every time we saw her. Its a small thing. But as someone that works in the service industry, face your guests!
(4)
Amanda D.
Love this place! Love the outdoor feel, atmosphere, service (although watch out about asking not to be seated near the music - they're sometimes not so clear about what "near" means.) Anything "fire island" is really good; it's no more spicey than medium buffalo sauce. Smoked fish spread is good. The Greek style octopus was amazing (at this location it's seasonal but I hear it is year round at other Frenchy locations). They have great live music here. It's super local to me in dunedin and I love coming here by myself and with friends.

Ahi poke should be made fresh to order, not daily... Love the inspiration of the chef but it always tastes old.

For the record, the menu has evolved in the transition. My 7 year old granddaughter with have her mac n cheese or chicken fingers and be a happy girl! She also like a side of broccoli. I asked, they delivered! Don't be afraid to ask! As it's only a 1 1/2 miles from my house, I've coming here frequently when I want a casual bite. This last visit, I had the Grouper Santorini, pan sauteed with sun-dried tomatoes, mushrooms and basil in a lemon-wine butter sauce, topped with feta cheese! The only thing I would say is that they are masking the grouper with too much of a serving of the tomato/mushroom/feta topping. "Gordon, Graham, and Joe" would all agree with me! ;-P I had the Key Lime Pie and am pretty sure it's from J.J. Gandy! It's not too sweet, and refreshing. I'll continue to come here as it's such beachy kind of place, I live close by, locals (including friends), go here, and you can tourist watch!

Chicken tenders are lacking in chicken. Ours were slightly over cooked as well. Didn't bother ordering anything else. Service was good though.

I grew up in Clearwater and the Original and Saltwater Frenchy's were always my go-to haunts. Imagine my delight when I found out they were opening in Dunedin now that my mom lives in Palm Harbor! We go every time I come home to visit and no longer have to fight the beach traffic (and can even ride our bikes as it's super close to the trail). Funnily enough, in my 37 years of life, I have only ever had the cajun grouper sandwich, the she-crab soup and the fish spread. I have never strayed from those choices because why would I stray from perfection? I was impressed with the menu here at the Outpost though and was almost tempted to try the fish tacos, stuffed avocados or conch fritters...but alas...maybe next visit...

We really liked our food. The music was great. There are a lot of things I wanted to try on their menu and will be coming back. It's. Frenchys!

Beka S.
The ambiance is fantastic. We went here for dinner with some friends and all our kids, and it was such a great place to chill, have a drink, get some dinner and listen to some music (the band, Pierre Brothers, was really good too!). The food was just OK. We had the yuka fries with pulled pork, and the fries and sauce were delicious. The pork wasn't cooked well (kind of stringy) and flavorless. Then we split the stuffed grouper, and that was really underwhelming. The sauce was too thick and greasy, you couldn't taste the crab, and the grouper was... meh. The drinks were delicious :) Overall, I'd recommend this place for sure. Go for the ambiance and drinks, and order easy bar foods without a high expectation and you'll be really happy at the end of the night. :)

The food is good and we love the atmosphere at night because there is always a cool band playing. This is a local and reliable favorite with good service and fast seating, even if they look packed.

I thought this was a fun, comfortable and friendly place to have dinner after the beach. The service was great, the food delicious and the drinks very well made. It's family friendly, but a treat for all ages. The indoor / outdoor atmosphere was seamless and well thought out - reminiscent of KeyWest but with a much more modern design. Definitely a place for good food and good times.

Love love love frenchys! Nate (bartender tonight is so personable and friendly...he made us feel like we were right back home and made us the best frozen cocktails I've ever had!! The food is almost amazing as Nate. We had smoked fish spread, conch fritters and the shrimp appetizer. All were sooo good and just what I needed to end my awesome vacation! Katie is super friendly and helpful as well...we will definitely be back!! So sad I cannot come back before I head back to Colorado but I'll be back soon!

Overpriced food with limited menu. This is the only Frenchy's we've tried, but I won't bother trying others now. $30 for one adult and two kids meals and we left still hungry.

I had the fresh fish tacos but got them fried. DELICIOUS. Monthly beer specials are great. Gave 4/5 bc of location. Not much to look at

The food is typical beach food. Really, you go to this place for a pretty good grouper sandwich and live music.

Looking for a decent outdoor bar for drinks and bar food? This is the place. Been there twice in the past month, sat once at table, today at the bar. Good service, good food. Food was hot and fresh. Drinks were not under-poured and the liquor used is pretty good. Actually watched the bartender handmake a margaritta - not bad a for a outdoor bar. Fish tacos are very good as are the rum drinks. Not a bad place.

Ok this is a hard review I am normally the happy happy reviewer. Yes I loved the food, really good garlic cheese bread, great fried shrimp, my k7ds food was great. Wait was short on a sunday afternoon. So why only 3 stars. Over looking a main road, not so good. Maybe some more landscaping would be good. Parking is bad. Music was not good and too loud.

Just as good as Frenchy's Clearwater locations....great grouper sandwiches and atmosphere....but music can be a little too loud

Stopped in after beach for late lunch early dinner on Sunday. Party of four seated right away. Service was efficient and pleasant. Cold Beer and Mojitos were refreshing. My wife drinks a lot of mojitos and she said this was very good. Recommend the pulled pork nachos and smoked chicken wings ("mildly hot") we had for appetizers, delicious. I had fish tacos which were tasty, the others had fried seafood baskets and Island shrimp. Appetizers were the highlight! All was good even if maybe a little overpriced, that said, I would rather have a little pricey over lousy food and service. Live music was a good volume and a pleasant addition. Will go again!

My family and friends had dinner here a couple of nights ago. We started with grouper bites, onion rings and pulled pork nachos. The grouper and onion rings were spot on, hot, well prepared and well seasoned. I was intrigued at the nachos. Everyone enjoyed them. I did as well. Good flavor and good chips. I would have liked to see a little more layering of the ingredients. They were kind of poured on top of a pile of chips. It was difficult to disassemble and eat. I also prefer melted cheese instead of cheese sauce. The main courses were fantastic. I think everyone got either Mahi Mahi or grouper sandwiches. I had a Caribbean (jerked) grouper sandwich. The fish was cooked perfectly, the sauce was very nice, not too hot. All in all a good experience. I only rated a 4 because I don't think we stretched them too much. We ordered their stand by staples. If I had gone to the raw bar and they delivered then maybe but it is what it is. A good casual seafood place. If that's what you want, you won't be disappointed. I should also say our server was attentive and did a great job.
(4)
Laura W.
If I could give less than one star I would. Food was tasteless and boring. French fries no better than I would cook in my oven; mahi and cole slaw dreadful. Shrimp appetizer disgusting and soggy. When we asked to give the manager feedback he replied everything is the same as the other frenchys. It most certainly is not.... $45 dollar for a meal I wouldn't feed to my dog. Such a shame... We are local and wanted it to be good. Manager showed no desire for our business or to return. And don't worry.. We will not.

We ordered the seafood ceviche and the smoked fish spread. Plus took advantage of the happy hour prices for a couple of Shock Tops. Very yummy. Waitress was very friendly and prompt. Great end to a active day at Honeymoon Island. They took us as we are!

Atmosphere was great. With that said, the food was good not great - my original grouper sandwich was battered crispy and cooked perfectly but it was actually quite bland. My husband had the spicy version but there was hardly any spice. The best thing was my sons grouper nuggets which were very flavorful. The thing that bothered me the most was the french fries - I expected them to be fresh not frozen. Maybe the other locations have better food.
(3)
Jennifer C.
If you want somewhere with a lively atmosphere & music where you can sit outside on a nice sunny afternoon, this is the place. I had their original grouper sandwich that was pretty delicious. Their sandwiches & baskets are reasonable ($8-13) but their seafood entrees are a bit steep ($15-20 most average $18+).
(4)
Tracey R.
The outdoor environment is nice. There was a nice breeze when we went in August, hard to believe. The burger and pulled pork sandwiches we excellent. The service was so-so. The restaurant appeared clean.

Food is typical Frenchy's fare that you come to expect from the beach favorite. Where it fails is the staffing... At any given time there was at least 7 waitstaff/buser/hostess/bartenders standing around talking amongst themselves. My waitress brought out my appetizer and entree at the same time and when I pointed it out to her she laughed and said she had no idea what she was doing... Then suggested I eat the entree and she would then microwave my soup for me. Not inspiring. Another problem with this location is the ever present swarms of black flies that add to the ambiance. Honestly I think I will forgo another visit and instead deal with all the annoyances of the beach to get my Frenchy's fix...
(3)
Susan M.
I have always been a fan of frenchies on the beach so wanted to try the outpost . As always food was good. Had the grouper sandwich and the Greek octopus app which was something a bit different. I do wish there was an ocean view but it is still nice to sit outside.

Very loud, small portions, however the service was good. Likely won't return as there are so many others to chose from in the area...Really a disappointment. Frenchy;s feels more like a chain now .

After renovations, the establishment is really, really busy so we sat at the bar. There were familiar faces in both the serving areas and the bar. The service was good and food was tasty. Being a local, and knowing what the original Outpost Grill had to offer, Frenchy's has cheapened it up a bit. Wine prices have increased, the option of seared ahi tuna is no longer available on the Greek salad which is a disappointment but the real downer is that the Greek salad used to be so large that you could bring half home and have another meal out of the salad. Lettuce is so cheap this move baffles me, I know I could make myself a salad at home for very cheap but it was nice to bring this one home and not have to do a thing later.

Typical tourist trap; good if you have kids. Alright ambience for Florida themed restaurant. Food was mediocre, pretty much a big basket of French fries with a few fish nuggets, then they charged extra for additional tarter sauce.

This place is a landmark. Simple but good menu and the Grouper is always good.

I was glad when Frenchy's took over Outpost, not that I'm Frenchy's hugest fan, but anything was an improvement to Island Outpost. We first stopped in right after they changed hands. Frenchy's was operating it but the menu was still the same and they hadn't done the overhaul. We weren't to impressed, but once we learned they would be redoing the place and eventually updating the menu we vowed to try it again. Well we finally got around to trying it again this past weekend. We had a 45 minute wait, which is a little long for May, but what can you do there were a lot of big parties taking up all the tables. Hubby got a drink from the bar, eventually, while I grabbed a spot to sit and wait. We had eaten at Rockaway not to long ago and I left a little underwhelmed. My grouper wasn't the best and it didn't leave me wanting more Frenchy's. But we had vowed to return to this new location. At Outpost we started with the fish spread. It was good. It was fish spread. Our food came out very quickly after we got the appetizer. Would have preferred a little more time, but not a big deal. My husband ordered the Fire Island Grouper Sandwich (I think that's the name, something with fire in it) and I opted for the chicken salad pita for a change of pace and because I have a friend who goes to Frenchy's specifically for this. I figured it was worth a shot. The pita was big and served with delicious fruit. My hubby and I were joking because when this place was Island Outpost I ordered a salad with tropical fruit on top which ended up being a can of dole fruit - yuck. Frenchy's gave me FRESH kiwi, strawberries, banana, cantelope and honeydew (which wasn't quite ripe) I took half of the pita home and had dinner the next night. My husband let me try a bite of his sandwich and it was really delicious. The fish was perfect. Super fresh and much better than my Rockaway experience. It left me wanting to come back. Our server was great. Very friendly - wish I remembered his name. Anyways, we really enjoyed our meal and are looking forward to returning. Hopefully with a little bit shorter of a wait.

Ate dinner here tonight, second time in less than a week. The item that brought us back tonight was stone crab since yesterday was the beginning of the season! Normally we like to get a couple / three pounds and go to it at home. But sometimes it's just nice to eat them at a restaurant and let someone else clean up. I ordered the large, my wife got medium. Four large arrived on my plate, five or six mediums on my wife's. They were tender, full of meat that came out of the shell easily, and they were sweet. Wonderful. I had a small side salad with my claws. Friday we were here for their excellent buffalo shrimp. The shrimp are big, plump, slightly breaded, and for me - wonderfully hot! Wife chooses the medium heat. Service was fairly good, they were pretty busy. I do wish their menu was a little more varied for the non-grouper or other fish eater. They make an awesome French onion soup at their Saltwater Cafe (but they don't serve it often enough). It would be great if they could offer a few more options like that at all of their restaurants.

Visited last night and sat at the bar with my girlfriend. Had prompt and friendly service, and food came out hot and fresh and in a timely manner. Everything was consistent. They had live music playing which added a nice touch...... My only recommendation is they should add a few more beers on tap. I don't think 4 is nearly enough to choose from at least for a restaurant that size. They should offer a little more from the craft and local breweries as well.

I have to say that I am proud to find a restaurant that really seems to cater to the customer and not the all mighty dollar. The food was outstanding meeting our expectations right to the line. I had the smoked wings and fire tacos and I have to say that I made certain specific demands on how I wanted it done totally expecting them to fall short, but a very nice surprise when the order was exact. A very short wait time for the food to come out and a very courteous waiter with a nice clean environment. Bravo Frenchys you have made a fan for sure and can't wait to come back and try some other specials.

Typical Frenchy fare but the staff, especially the manager, seemed disingaged in the operation and walked around looking like he didn't want to be there. Flys were everywhere, including on our food....we had to keep napkins over our drinks and food. Grouper rubin, the special of the day was so soggy my wife couldn't eat the bread. There's very limited inside seating and the one room is dark and uninviting. There's a lot of work to do to bring this up to Frenchy standards....we won't go back soon.

Don't waste your time and money. This was a horrible experience. Service was ridiculously bad and management was clueless!

Positive changes with the new ownership, no more super long wait when they are busy because of dirty tables not being bused, higher quality food and management that is on site to provide leadership makes a big difference. Music is as good as it was before looking forward to the renovations.

I've been a lifelong Frenchys customer and have never had anything but good things to say. Restaurant looks great. Food was up to par. The service was abysmal. We waited several minutes and ultimately had to ask for a server. Meanwhile many if the wait staff was milling around, chatting with each other, and more than one saw us, made eye contact, and continued to wander. Once procuring a server, we were told she could only bring our bar order, which was wrong when it was delivered. Ordered appetizers but we're not given plates. Our check took far longer than it should. I had higher expectations.

Ok thought we would give it another shot. They added the kids burger and the kids grouper back to the menu. Good to see. For us that was a big move. Thank you!

Service was fine. Food served pretty quick, although it was not very busy on a wednesday evening around 6. On the pricey side for the quality. Basically a tourist trap imo. Ordered the fish tacos. Good portion but lacking in flavor. Some of the fish was even fishy. Mango salsa was meh. I still haven't had decent fish tacos anywhere outside california. Friend had the salad with added grilled chicken. Chicken was hard and dried out and rather disgusting. Sampled their fries and onion rings. Rings were greasy and fries were sub par. Bill with tip was about $36 for two meals and two drinks. Frenchy's wasn't my choice and I don't think I would ever eat there again nor recommend it.

I visited a few times but the last time was so awful we decided to just never go back. Their idea of cerviche is to put a few pieces of rubbery fish into a large cocktail glass over a bed of lettuce. It was so disgusting we all just sat there mortified. Then the manager brought over a small cup of cerviche just made for us to try. Not a very classy move. The service is not very good. Servers on the defense most of the time if you can get one to come back to your table. Definitely not up to par as his beach restaurants. The old Outpost was a lot better.

An overlooked gem. This place is great to sit outside, enjoy live entertainment, and eat great food. Varied menu, quick service, and fun atmosphere. My 2 year old loves to dance to the music while we relax and enjoy the weather.

WE were happy to see Frenchy's along the causeway, then we don't have to go to Clearwater beach area. The menu is limited, compared to their other restaurants.

Here is my Story. I use to go to island out post 5 - 6 times a month with friends and softball teams, Food was ok drink prices were great. When Frenchy's took over i was there the very 1st Friday and the management and staff were on point. I asked about changes, was told all drink prices were the same and food was being upgraded. My bucket of beers was $10 as it had been for the last couple years. I came back 2 week later with a group of 6 people, Ate and drank as normal my bill went from a average of $45 dollar to over $60 the buckets went up to $12.50 service was terrible waited for 25 mins before being waited on and it wasn't packed. The management unlike the 1st visit never came to table once, the waitress had a matter of fact attitude when i asked her about the changes. I have not been back sense. Thats a loss in my addition of $2,000 a month from myself and friends that Marker 8 and Cricketeers now receives. Shame I allways liked the Outpost.

(5)Tina S.

(4)Jennifer H.
Great service, good food and nice chillaxing atmosphere. They also have a few of craft beers to pick from. Must go if in the area.
(4)Eliza R.

(2)Jim K.
As usual the She Crab soup was amazing! I had the Gruben which was excellent. The waiter was excellent and gave us great service. They get 5 stars for their service and awesome food!
(5)Peter P.
(4)DeAnna P.

(4)Lacy H.

(1)Emaad J.
Great seafood! The fish spread is fresh and the fire island grouper sandwich is delicious with a nice kick! The drinks are affordable and their beer of the month specials certainly help keeping the check at a decent level.
(5)Pat K.
(5)Sarah C.

(4)D B.
Large portions. Food good. We had fried Groouper. It was good. Wait staff was very friendly, appreciated us tourists. Typical beach bar menu. But served very well. We would definitely try this again, or another of their locations. Great choice too cool off and good eats.
(3)Michelle R.
(4)Meaghan H.
(2)Mauricio C.
(4)Kathy D.
(2)Didiceleste M.
(3)Jessica S.
(4)Russ M.
Good food. Had grilled grouper sandwich. Moderate prices. Was crowded but service was fast.
(4)Heather H.
(4)Camille C.
Party of 9 was seated on a busy night in 30 minutes. Best beet salad around and accommodating staff!
(4)Jimmy F.
Having been born and raised here, I've had many grouper sandwiches in my life. This one topped them all. 5 stars all day.
(5)Jenny H.
(4)C B.
Absolutely love this place it's about time they got a Leisters should've done that years ago I leave recommend sitting at the bar gray bartenders staff
(4)Gena A.
(2)Dana N.
(3)Frank G.
(5)Shelby G.
(4)Amanda D.
(4)Dave L.
Ahi poke should be made fresh to order, not daily... Love the inspiration of the chef but it always tastes old.
(1)Christopher S.

It's. Frenchys!

Jenna was awesome food was awesome!!! No complaints from us. Would go back for sure!! Everything that I saw going to other tables looked as good as what I had. Thumbs up!!!!
(5)Candace M.

Not much to look at
(4)Franke S.
The food is typical beach food. Really, you go to this place for a pretty good grouper sandwich and live music.
(3)Dave K.

(3)Greg L.
Just as good as Frenchy's Clearwater locations....great grouper sandwiches and atmosphere....but music can be a little too loud

Captain. Morgan. Cobia. Fantastic food, drinks, live music, service. New favorite.

(4)Phil S.
Waited 30 minutes for table comfortably, service was acceptable, seafood was prepared well and tasty.

(4)Laura W.
(1)Ann C.
We ordered the seafood ceviche and the smoked fish spread. Plus took advantage of the happy hour prices for a couple of Shock Tops. Very yummy. Waitress was very friendly and prompt. Great end to a active day at Honeymoon Island. They took us as we are!
(5)TJ M.
(3)Jennifer C.
(4)Tracey R.
The outdoor environment is nice. There was a nice breeze when we went in August, hard to believe. The burger and pulled pork sandwiches we excellent. The service was so-so. The restaurant appeared clean.
(4)Max W.
(3)Susan M.
I have always been a fan of frenchies on the beach so wanted to try the outpost . As always food was good. Had the grouper sandwich and the Greek octopus app which was something a bit different. I do wish there was an ocean view but it is still nice to sit outside.
(5)Angie S.
Very loud, small portions, however the service was good. Likely won't return as there are so many others to chose from in the area...Really a disappointment. Frenchy;s feels more like a chain now .
(2)Pam G.
(3)Jason G.
Typical tourist trap; good if you have kids. Alright ambience for Florida themed restaurant. Food was mediocre, pretty much a big basket of French fries with a few fish nuggets, then they charged extra for additional tarter sauce.
(2)Rico O.

(5)Jack M.
(4)Glenn S.

(1)Pergola R.
Positive changes with the new ownership, no more super long wait when they are busy because of dirty tables not being bused, higher quality food and management that is on site to provide leadership makes a big difference. Music is as good as it was before looking forward to the renovations.
(5)Lauren G.
(2)James W.
Ok thought we would give it another shot. They added the kids burger and the kids grouper back to the menu. Good to see. For us that was a big move. Thank you!
(3)Terry C.
Frenchy's wasn't my choice and I don't think I would ever eat there again nor recommend it.

frenchy's is the best no matter which location you go to!! i love frenchy's and will always return.
(5)Chris W.
Love Frenchy's!! Grouper Sandwich is the bomb
(5)Ken S.
(1)Heather M.
An overlooked gem. This place is great to sit outside, enjoy live entertainment, and eat great food. Varied menu, quick service, and fun atmosphere. My 2 year old loves to dance to the music while we relax and enjoy the weather.
(5)Kay F.
WE were happy to see Frenchy's along the causeway, then we don't have to go to Clearwater beach area. The menu is limited, compared to their other restaurants.
(3)John N.
great scenery, friendly staff, fresh food!
