Great "locals" breakfast place, good food, good prices

I live around the corner from this little diner and have been coming back for years. The food is really good diner food. The corned beef hash is homemade and exceptionally good. The best thing about this place, by far, is the pricing. It is beyond affordable. And you get even better pricing if you want breakfast and you get there before 11:00 am. The food isn't fancy or inventive ~ and it isn't meant to be. It is a small hole in the wall with decent food at low prices. On a sour note, don't look down at the carpet, whatever you do. The carpet looks like there should be yellow police tape everywhere and chalk body outlines from a massacre. I'd hate to see it under a forensic light. That being said, everything else seems clean.

It's been a a few years since my initial review, so I figured it's time to update it. This is simply my favorite breakfast/lunch place in the Dunedin area. The reason I had originally given it three stars is because often times they would be so busy you'd wait almost 45m-1hr for your order. Since those days a few days, I haven't come across that again. Also, they now accept credit/debit cards which is great since I usually don't carry cash on me. The food is excellent, cheap and service is great. Definitely recommend the Covered Bridge.

What a neat little place. No it's not 4 star dining, but it's not meant to be. This little diner, tucked along alternate 19 is a sleeper, a place where you go because you've been going for 25 years. Where the regulars are known and the waitstaff automatically bring their drinks to the table. Where when it's their birthday, the chef makes special pancakes for them! The food was simple, but good! I had a bacon/egg/cheese wrap, which was far larger than I expected. The husband had a double bacon cheese burger with fries. Also far larger than we expected. No, not fresh ground beef, probably those patties that they get from SYSCO, but still tasty. The staff was very friendly, very attentive. We weren't even sure they were open today, but they were, until 2pm. Since we arrived at 1:15, they were more than accommodating to us. Our cups never went empty and the food came out -very- quickly. It certainly was fresh and delicious. I know that I'll come back and try them for another meal.

My family and I have ate here a few times. The place is very small inside so I wouldn't recommend it for a large group. The food is very cheap so it is definitely affordable. I wasn't blown away by the food when we've eaten hear but it wasn't awful by any means.

This has become a house favorite. My parents and I discovered this restaurant before my husband and I moved to Dunedin. We have never had a bad waitress and they're always very helpful and hard working. The prices are great and the food is good. Highly recommended!

Worst breakfast I've ever had in Dunedin. Belongs on the show "restaurant impossible". My food was inedible. Carpet on the floor was beyond disgusting. Servers were no better. Skip this place.

Nice little local diner. Cash only and the prices are so low I'd rate it half a dollar sign if I could. The food is average breakfast and lunch stuff. Nothing on the menu that seemed unique and caught my eye. They do basic stuff and they do it pretty well. Service was just OK, the waitress was over tasked and the place was crowded. Seating was a bit confusing since they don't have a hostess and the place was busy. Overall a good experience if you are looking for an inexpensive meal!

Used to go here for breakfast on Sunday quite a bit but not again. A plate of eggs and grits shouldn't take an hour. This is the second time.

Had excellent service. Ordered Shepherds Pie which I'd had before and loved it. This time it was just ground beef and potatoes on top, no vegetables at all. Had a cup of chili as an appetizer and it was really really good. Their prices are great and I've had other things there that are really good so I would recommend this place to anyone. Just hope they change their shepherds pie, because it was excellent before.

Two stars - the service, friendly attentive. I ordered the fisherman's platter with coleslaw, French fries and green beans. The coleslaw was straight from a container, the green beans screamed for seasoning. The French fries were great. The seafood was all from frozen, cooked ok but also desperate for seasoning. The price of $7.95 was probably right for the quality. My husband has meatloaf and mashed potatoes - the meatloaf needed salt and the potatoes were instant and needed salt and more liquid. The sweet tea, spot on.

Well, Covered Bridge is a place we have been missing. I grew up with diners, living in N. Jersey, and this place is as close as you get! We went this afternoon, and missed out on the Homemade Corned Beef Hash, but, we will be back for it. Service was outstanding, granted it was 2 in the afternoon, most people are out and about, especially today. The meals were very reasonable for the cost, and the serving was more than adequate. We will be frequenting the Covered Bridge now, great diner in Dunedin!

Worst breakfast I have ever had. Ultra slow service. Server seemed to be spaced out.. Its hard to mess up breakfast well they did. Food was tasteless and way too much for nothing. Forget about it.
