Authenticity! Waitress was very patient with us gringos and the tipico is excellent! The atmosphere is casual.

Tipico mixto. Tripe soup hella good. Fast excellent service.
(5)Alexandra G.
From the outside view it looks like a typical restaurant. But once inside it feels more like a typical Spanish "cafeteria" style venue. Starting for the menu with about 7 or 8 main dishes. Then let's talk about the food itself. I ordered the tipico plate. In which I have ordered in many Colombian restaurants before. So to my surprise. The food came out in less than 5 minutes after I ordered it. Then my second surprise was my "tipico" plate was was suppose to come with ground beef came out with what I would define as "ground beef micro powdered" yes this is not a spell check error. I did say "ground beef powdered". This blew my mind and was totally disgusted. There were signs of previous yelpers, talking about how it felt like the food was prepared the day before. But I still gave it a shot. I totally agree now. I truly felt like it was a "heat lamp heaven" and there food was just there waiting to be served. Lastly they seemed to want to be technologically advanced by bringing me a huge iPad with a square connection to pay for my bill and force a tip from me.

Great food, even the lemonade, it was delicious, the mondongo unique! Service very good and food come very fast!!!

A very pleasant surprise. For full disclosure, I was working and took my crew out for dinner. This can be a bit challenging for restaurant, as we can leave at a moments notice. I make a point to stay as far away as the general crowd, due to our radio noise, pay early and have them prepared to put everything in "to go" boxes, if necessary. With that said, our waitstaff, was awesome in accommodating. Took everything in stride, plus brought out the food with extraordinary swiftness. I had the chicken soup (for give me, I don't have the menu and I'm not Columbian). Fantastic! I didn't think I could eat it all, but was scrapping the bottom before I knew it. The crew had grilled chicken with the usual compliment. They were enthusiastic on the flavors and presentation. I also had a remarkable dessert of preserved figs and cheese with syrup. Delicious. A family style restaurant, that can be a bit loud (in a kind of good way). Friends and swift service and delicious Colombian food. I will definitely go back

The food is consistently good. Not too many people can make mondongo the same every time you go. Well, this place does. Good service & great food.
(5)Rob P.
What can I say that's hasn't been said? Good food, good service. They do not have the bandeja paisa with carne asada but you can order carne asada with a side of beans.
(4)Alejandra A.
I remember when I was little in Medellin, people would line up with pots outside this restaurant to buy fresh mondongo...and even though nothing will ever taste like the original back home in Colombia this is pretty darn close. BEWARE- this dish "mondongo" is very typical for us, it is not like the dominican version or other versions I have tried so do not be surprised when you dive into this bowl of yummy tripe and find yourself wondering ...hmm oh and please make sure you sprinkle cilantro, slice a few pieces of banana, a couple spoons of rice and squeeze a little lime in it...trust me when I tell you...THAT is the proper way to do it..the layers of flavor become a party in your mouth ....guaranteed! Now if tripe is too much for you please order the typical Bandeja Paisa, or Solomo a la plancha. Both have very nice meat components. The service is great, fast, and the place is very clean. Dear mondongo...pls open in kendall...the drive to Doral, is just tooo far!
(5)Eric F.
This was my first taste of columbian food and I was thrilled. I was in town on business and this was the closest spot to eat. I ordered the Tripico Mixto, with a bowl of Mondongo's soup. Loved it all. And the service was very professional and friendly. I never felt like a tourist. Even if I was.

I'm sorry man... I don't know - but this chain restaurant from Colombia got messed up upon arriving to Miami. I tried the mondongo and the bandeja paisa. The bandeja paisa was just okay - the chicharrones were tasty, I'd give them that. The rest could easily be passed. Even the slice of avocado were a bit too "green." The steak was not a notable cut. I'm still looking for a good bandeja paisa in Miami.... And its namesake mondongo? It's pretty bad, surprisingly - and I love mondongo! It tastes more like a chupe than a mondongo - they put way too many things in it that it is so much more like a stew of some sort. I still much prefer the mondongo at Los Balkanes, my favorite so far in Miami (actually Miami Lakes). Just kinda surprising and a bit disappointing. Additionally, the building on the outside looks nice. On the inside, the look turns into a cheap Latin diner. They can definitely make this establishment look better and provide better service as well (the folks weren't that friendly). I'm telling you, if you want mondongo, go to Balkanes, not here.
(2)Juan G.
This seems to be a Colombian place. Usually meat is served with rice and avocado (plenty of it) and plates are very large but they lack in flavor and quality. We tried chiken and beef plates and they were bland, meat was dry and chiken was a bit moist but yet bland. If you go with kids and are concerned about diabities be watchful: they may serve them a plate of raw sugar as appetizers, I know they are just trying to be kind and this will be probably OK in some countries but I would for sure not let my kids ingest a plate of raw sugar before lunch! Waitress was kind and very helpful all the way.
(2)Michael M.
Love this place! So good and consistent every time we come! (And that's a lot) they serve authentic Colombian food in a large sit down family style restaurant. The service is alway super fast and always nice. The price is cheap compared to the quality and quantity of the dishes they serve. I have had almost everything on their menu and it never gets old. I'm a regular here and wil continue to be one. If you haven't been here, I suggest you get here fast! You won't regret it.
(5)Eileen P.
Closest to home made food as you can get delicious it so good great to go ear with the family on a Sunday love this place and the staff very friendly
(5)Kim K.
In town on business and decided to try this place for something new. There was a language barrier between me and the waitress, but that is to be expected! I didn't know anything on the menu so I had her pick something out for me. I can't recall what I had, but it came with soup (accompanied with all kinds of things to enhance the experience!), pork, egg and some rice. Everything was delicious. I ended up eating too much, but was so glad to still leave more than half of the plate in tact! I would return any time I am in the area. Great experience. Quick service and friendly staff!
(4)Laura S.
This was my first Colombian food experience, so I don't have too much to compare to. Got the tipico, and it was nice and tasty, but didn't sweep me of my feet. I would probably not elect to come back again soon, but was glad I tried it.
(3)Christopher N.
Excellent Columbian food at reasonable prices. The food was delicious and felt authentic. I felt that the 'branding' of the place was a little over the top, like a McDonalds or something. Also, the menu could have used more variety.
(4)Milton F.
To be honest I don't really know how to rate this place. First time having the tripe soup dish. I've only had Columbian one other time, also in Miami, but had the hearty Bandeja Paisa. This place is in a nice setting, looks like a chain restaurant on the outside, and a family style diner on the inside. Menu is extremely simple, with only about 4 combinations of Mondongo or Frijoles with the mix plate of rice, chicharones, ground powdered beer (kinda weird, maybe an acquired taste), plantains, arepa, etc. There are also about 4 other kinds of grilled meats, from beef, pork, chicken, and fish, but not in the combination plate style. We had the Tipico Mixto with tripe soup, and a Skirt steak plate. The soup comes with avocado and banana. We were adventurous enough to cut in the avocado, but wasn't really sure if we'd like banana with it so we ended just taking the banana to go. The soup was good, nice and hearty, and kind of like a blander menudo without hominy. The plate was okay as well, but like I said, I'm not really sure if this is more of an acquired taste. The chicharones was smaller than I've had before. The powdered beef again, was weird. Chinese people have dried pork shavings that we can put on many dishes like porridge or sandwiches, and this powdered beef is kind of in the same vein. I think I would have preferred the Bandeja Paisa with a piece of skirt steak. Decent prices but does feel a bit pricey for ethnic breakfast/lunch food. $14 for the Tipico Mixto. $15 for the steak plate. Also an order of 4 mini empanadas which were tasty at $3.95, but pretty mini.
(4)Jason And Cristina A.
Awesome service for a Colombian restaurant. Great food too! Punt de anca was delicious!!
(4)Pierre K.
Yeah this place is definitively a MEH. Food is ok but there is better our there when it comes to Colombian food. I found the flavors to be quite bland which to me means that there is little care into the food. I mean this is latin food, it is all about flavor! The offerings are very limited and I tried just about everything. From the chicken to the steak to the fish and the soups which are the best items on the menu. Personally, I'd rather go to Tropico a few blocks away on 36th. Not Colombian but way better!
(2)Dani C.
Service, price and flavor are all fantastic. I highly recommend this restaurant for lunch on the go or an evening of food and fun.
(5)Mike E.
Everything i've tried here has been amazing, tasty and super fresh! Hands down one of the better Latin food joints in the area. The only weird thing about this place is all the cameras! Felt like i was eating in a bank...what's up with that? My wife says that they use the big bother surveillance cameras to assist with seating...ok i get it, but hide them in a plant or something, not sticking out of the wall...whatever...is it just me that cares about those petty things? Honorable mentions: * Really really really nice and helpful staff! * Fresh and light food!
(4)Matt M.
Good Colombian food. They need to work on the atmosphere a little. It's a nice latin restaurant and they were playing classical music. Really? There's this beautiful bar right when you walk in, but they don't even use it!
(4)Mirgi A.
Best Colombian food and ambiance! Since my husband first took me to Mondongo's, we've gone several times and I've had the "Tipico." It's delicious! White rice, ground beef, hard poached egg, a "chicharron" strip, a boiled sweet plantain, and a bowl of red beans. They serve you on the side one banana, a medium avocado slice, and an arepa. They place on your table small bowls of chopped parsley, hot pepper sauce and mild pepper sauce. I always have a "cortadito" and a natas desert. I, of course, can't eat it all and take the rest with me to enjoy later. I'm Cuban and I love Mondongo's!
(5)Natalia A.
Such a good place for Colombian food. The staff is friendly and the atmosphere is great, will definitely come again.
(5)Roy L.
Ate here a few weeks ago when I was down in Miami. A friend of mine said this is one of the best Colombian restaurants in the Miami area. Service was very friendly and accommodating. I've never eaten Colombian food so I ordered what my friend suggested which was a bowl of tripe soup that came with rice, an avocado, a banana, and a side of cilantro. The food came out very fast, almost as fast as a bowl of pho comes out. My server instructed me on how to eat this soup with all these sides and I was pretty impressed with the taste. I love soup so I'll try any kind of soup. Oh I also had the Colombian beer which was okay. For dessert I tried the caramel flan and a cup of expresso. My total was $22. Definitely worth it and I do plan on going back when I'm in the area.
(4)Jose M.
Yes this is a Colombian restaurant, but it has a feel of being commercialized food. Don't expect all the items you'll find a typical Colombian restaurant. The goal of this place is table turn over. The food is served quick and food items are simple. Overall the food is good, but not the best. I've taken several people here and they love this place. I like it, but definitely don't love it. Its' missing something. On thing that really bothers me about this place and a lot of other places is desert. Restaurants have outsourced their desert making! You order anything and it comes from a factory. Pass on the factory made dessert. They do have something that's OK. The Figs and Carmel, but that's an acquired taste.
(3)Cameron C.
First time eating Columbian food, but seems to be very authentic. Couldn't understand a bunch of the menu, but we muddled through with a less-than-conversant server. Decent food, certainly not bad for the price. You get what you pay for.
(3)favio p.
Great and authentic Colombian food. i was recomended to this place by a Colombian lady and she told me that from all the colombian restaurants near the Doral area, this was the best and most authentic. I tried the ajiaco and it was really tasty but it lacked on more substance, although i wouldn't be able to compare it to other restaurants. Great place, clean and friendly staff. Came here around 7pm during the week and there were only a few other couples and families besides my wife and I. Got seated right away.
(3)Marc F.
When in Doral, stop by Mondongo's! I stopped by for lunch recently since I was In the area and was dreaming about good Colombian food for weeks now. The service was amazing from the second we walked in the door, to the moment we left. My coworker was not too hungry so he ordered a Tajada de Maduro and I went with Carne de Res and a jugo de Maracuya (passionfruit juice); my entire meal was delicious, so good in fact we almost packed up the left over rice to take back to the office... hahaha. I wish there was more places like Mondongo's around Miami; the place makes you feel like your back in Colombia, for me like back at home! I highly recommend this resteraunt to anyone who works, lives or is commuting in the area.
(4)Josie L.
First time at Miami, my friend and I thought we try something near where we were staying at. While searching for something to eat, we found Mondongo's on Yelp. Decided to go there and found out it was serving Colombian food. Since, we never had Colombian food we were very excited with our new adventure. I got grilled fish and my friend got Tipico. Grilled fish was nicely done. It was delicious. I was very happy with my dish. It was nice and simple. Mondongo soup was yummy. When adding lime juice and cilantro to the soup it added another dimension to the soup. Ground beef with rice and egg was yummy. The beans were nicely done. We had a very good experience dinning there. The place was clean and the staffs were friendly. The funny thing to our experience was when we saw the banana and avacado we both looked at each other since we weren't sure what we were suppose to do with them. When we looked around we saw a couple took a bite out of banana and had a spoon of soup. They did the same with avacado. Due to not knowing what to expect out of Colombian food, I am giving 4 stars for good experience.
(4)Romi A.
This place has few items on their menu, but who cares because they're so good. My husband loves the bandeja paisa, and I usually order the mondongo...best tripe dish I've ever had.
(4)Jessica A.
Such a beautiful building for crappy plastic chairs and meh service. I wasn't impressed with the Plato paisa. I'd rather go to Patacon Pisao. Meh...
(1)George M.
i visited this place while visiting my aunt in Miami. We're Colombian, so we'd know if something is legit and good...this place was really good, I would definitely recommend it. Most people don't know what Colombian food is, but this place represents it pretty well and has a variety of things...I'll be sure to come back once i'm in Miami again.
(4)Herbet P.
I wanted to visit this restaurant for a while so today I decided to go with a friend for lunch (and have now gone back since). I ordered the Ajiaco the first time, and dayaammmm it was GOOD, this last time I ordered the Tipico (Bandeja Paisa but with Carne Molido), which I was happy to eat, although the ground meat was more like a powedered meat)!! I felt like when I walked into the restaurant I stepped into Colombia. The food was good, the environment was comfortable, mostly colombians and many with their families. They had a good selection on the menu although it appeared they didn't have many costenyo dishes. Definitely one of my favorite restaurants.
(4)Carla L.
NOTE this is a REGIONAL COLOMBIAN restaurant. Although some things like Sancocho can be found everywhere it is not typical to the region this restaurant is from. They stick to the original concept. Simple menu, fast quality food. If you are looking for 40 items on the menu go elsewhere. For good tripe soup (Mondongo) then this is the place If you wish to try the flavor of regional Colombian cooking you MUST come here. Wait.. if you just want good food, a great value, friendly service you should try it out! Mondongo's has a simple menu, but there is something for everyone (even vegetarians can piece together an amazing meal from sides), and it is just DELICIOUS! On the menu? Mondongo (tripe soup) Solomo a la plancha (steak) Pollo a la plancha (chicken) Bandeja paisa (rice, arepa, beans, chicharron, avocado, powdered beef, ripe plantains, a regular banana.. am I missing something?) Grilled fish and pork. They also have a children's menu. Loads of sides to add and/or choose from and also they have added Ajiaco for those who don't realize that Mondongo is tripe? Other than that this restaurant is from Medellin, it started out with a simple menu and has been pretty sucessful with it. I guess the moaning about not having other items on the menu stems from the fact that people aren't familiar with the original. Everything on the menu is outstanding, although I have found myself unable to resist the grilled fish the last few times I have been there. If you are in the Doral area, do not miss out on this great family owned restaurant.
(5)Stephanie L.
I will never understand people who say they don't like Mondongo's. First, not a word about it not being authentic Colombian! Saying that it's not authentic because it doesn't include a laundry list of dishes is like saying a Mexican restaurant is only authentic if it has tacos. Not all Colombians eat sancocho. Second, even if you aren't in the mood for traditional Colombian food, there are some deliciously simple dishes like the steak, chicken or fish that come with a piece of meat, rice, a potato (or fries), tomato, avocado and a plaintain. What I love about this place is that it's just like my grandmother's kitchen -- it's in no way pretentious or over the top. It's just a delicious, hardy meal for a good price with no bells and whistles. I specifically recommend the maracuya juice, getting the steak and asking for an egg on top of your rice and the cuatro leches for desert. Yum!
(5)Laura G.
Many yelpers who have commented keep talking about the odd decor. Mondongo's sits on an old spanish restaurant with a large rustic beautiful space. The chairs are from their previous restaurant, a small cozy corner in 25th street which, although it was always packed, it was an experience fighting for your seat. This is why the decor is awkward, because it was literally not "meant to be together." They also need to water the plants. Getting past the decor their food is pretty good. For persons who keep complaining about the damn sancocho, Mondongo's is a PAISA style restaurant. This means it is from Medellin, not bogota, cali, barranquilla ect... so NO they will not have sancocho, or ajiaco or lengua en salsa (YUM), and for that I am thankful. "Zapatero a sus zapatos." meaning "stick to what you know." These are the same people who order bandeja paisa with carne asada (grilled steak) THAT is not authentic. Mondongo's has simple dishes like grilled pork loin or chicken for your less adventurous friends. Regardless, when your food gets to the table and your friends smell the Colombian goodness, they will be tempted to try and steal a taste, then regret their choice. The Bandeja Paisa is big enough for two- three if you aren't with any guys or are watching your weight. Just make sure you ask for "extra frijoles."
(4)Carlos S.
So to be quite honest, I've never had Mondongo's mondongo, but everything I have tried has been great. The best way I can describe this place is that its a tasty Colombian kitchen. The menu lacks a few Colombian classics but everything has an authentic home-made flavor. So although you wont find empanadas or chorizo, there are more than enough items to put together some delicious meals. Service is phenomenal. The servers are fast, the food comes out hot and they have a really effective pager system. Aside from that there is not much left to say. Its a safe bet for a good lunch and I strongly recommend it.
(4)Shawn S.
On a recent visit to Miami/Doral, a collegue and I thought we'd try something different. This place was listed as latin so we figured why not while in Miami. The food was OK. I had fish vs a more traditional dish and it was a little bland but I think I should have gotten a more traditional dish like the ones discussed. On the plus side, the hot sauce served table side was great, the prices were reasonable. The ambiance was a little lacking - basic wood tables, bright lighting, etc so not for the hipster crowd. The highlight was the service! They behaved as though we were family guests!
(3)Paul S.
Sad to say that my expectations were totally taken to the ground ! food :(
(1)Cristina S.
This is overpriced Colombian food. As a Colombian, I found this to be average from what real Colombian food could taste. Nothing's out of the ordinary and the prices were not worth it.
(2)Emily V.
Some of the most bland food I've ever had in my life. The only reason I am giving it three stars is because of the upstanding service. The servers were nice and really helped each other through the rush hour lunch period. Maybe its the region but I cannot get past the green banana we were given as part of our dish. I think it is overpriced for what they actually serve.
(3)Vicki L.
This is a cute little Colombian place. The menu is very limited but the food is very home made. If you like avocados and tomatoes you will like this place every meal is served with it. I enjoyed it.
(4)Ed C.
not what it used to be, friendly service. Quality decent, flavor not there... will give it another shot ....in a couple of months
(2)Gustavo A. L.
Tearing a page from Chef Ramsey's textbook, this place has it right. Many diners may have based their impressions on what they see in Mondongo's here in Miami. However, these guys have been getting it right for decades since their beginnings in Medellin, Colombia, and carry on with their tradition successfully in Doral. Mondongo is a soup which we can sort of compare to tripe in the US but much richer and tastier - this was always our go to place after party in because it is said that having this soup will prevent a hangover - Since their Miami restaurant is not open late at night, we do the next best thing... head over when nursing a hangover, a Mondongo soup will definitely make you feel better. Unpretentious, never straying too far from the original concept of providing a simple menu with few items but high quality, served efficiently at a reasonable speed with excellent service. This place is not a smorgasbord of dishes from different regions of Colombia but rather a very accurate and authentic representation of what their name is all about - Mondongo's If you are looking for a place where you can find rare dishes ... keep moving, this place will only serve what they are best at ... and at that, they are the best ! Come in expecting a good basic menu, excellent food with good service and a smile at a reasonable price, and you will leave a fan !!!
(5)Christina C.
So, I'm of Cuban descent, not Columbian, but I definitely have no problem eating some of these hearty meals served at Mondongo's. When I used to work in the Citigroup building, my coworkers and I would frequent this establishment as it is just around the corner (we would walk). As Jose Luis mentions in his review, I think some of my coworkers were just interested in the ladies that work there ;) I had never eaten this type of food before, but boy was it great. I'm not sure what the exact name of the plate I ordered was, but it's very similar to ground beef with white rice and a sunny-side up egg on top. In addition, they serve bananas and avocado and those awesome beans. All in all, an enormous amount of food for a great price. Leaves you stuffed.
(4)Diego G.
Simple and straightforward menu with the typical dishes. I like this since it means they focus on making those few dishes great! We all had the tipico, which is in essence a bandeja paisa. The food was delicious and well portioned. The service is very friendly and the place is quite large so there is plenty of seating.
(5)R G.
Excellent food. This place is huge and their menu a delight. Churrasco was juicy and the biggest toston that I have ever seen was perfectly cooked. Will definitely go back.
(4)Maria A.
Great Colombian restaurant. Excellent service and food. Their mondongo soup is tasty, although prepared different then other Colombian restaurants good flavor.
(5)Justo M.
Very friendly and attentive service. This Colombian restaurant does not disappoint. The prices are right, you won't break the bank, and it's just a stone's throw away from the Trump Doral Blue Monster, for you golf fanatics. I would come again.
(4)Scott B.
Loved it! Got the Carnes De Res Medio. Seemed so simple but was excellent and refreshing and a lot of food. Try the passion fruit drink!!
(5)Michele M.
I was treated to Mondongo's in my recent business trip to Miami. The first course was an order of Chicharron. I do not know how I have lived my whole life without having Chicharron. It is the most delicious thing ever in the world. Deep fried pork belly- how can you go wrong? And the portion size is tremendous. I had to control myself because I ordered the grilled fish for lunch and was warned the portion was going to be enormous. I was not disappointed. The fish was super fresh, crispy and delicious. It was served with rice, fresh avocado, fried plantains and I think something else but I cannot remember. I do remember it was all very delicious and I could not really make a dent. Sometimes I wish I had a way to extend my tummy to eat more food when it is so tasty. I did take the leftovers with me and snacked on them later that night and the next day. I could not bear the idea of wasting any of that yummy deliciousness. I have since been craving Chicharron and have found a recipe to make it which I will try soon although realistically it will not be as good as Mondongo's but until I am able to make it back to Miami, will be my only option unless they decide to come up with ways to ship their food nationally. I will say my prayers this happens soon.
(5)Jennisa P.
Simple yumminess! When I want a simple steak and veggie meal- the bf and I head here. It's just simple good food! No major bells and whistles. I love the dish that comes with a steak, avocado, plantain, roasted potatoes, and more. I always have leftovers for lunch the next day. So it makes the $12-14 price tag well worth it. Overall, a great place for dinner. As I write this I crave that meal!
(5)Dee M.
My coworkers were placing an order so I decided to get one of my favorite Colombian dishes. The Bandeja Paisa. It was delivered rather quick and at first glance I asked "Where's the beef?" The beef was grounded thin and dry , which I'm not accustomed to, but I decided to try it all out. It was a great meal, especially with their dulce and pique spices. All equipped with a banana and avocado like if I was at home. Its a great meal and I see myself ordering here again.
(4)Daniella T.
OMG!! This place makes me feel right at home...They make the best MONDONGO.. the service is super fast.. sometimes faster than BK and the food is always amazing. The meals are $9-12 each and you cant ask for anything more.. The only thing I didnt like was the size of the tables.. the table for two was tiny and I felt I was about to my plate was about to fall out of my table. Maybe they are trying to make you feel like if you were in colombia since in colombia the tables are the same way. lol.. Great place for a quick lunch. will go back anytime.. PS ask for the free coffee.
(4)Cesar G.
If you are around Doral this is a great place to eat great Colombian food. The service is quick, regular atmosphere.
(4)John L.
Building and decoration are really nice, beautiful location, clean, airy, spacious place, great for big families. colorful native plants and flower's Artwork decorate the walls. Service was great, waiter was very fast and helpful with the menu. let's go to our business...food. Food was simply so so, not bad, not great, a little bit lack of flavor, Menu is really small (very limited) considering the variety of typical dishes and ingredients in our colombian food. I tried the Tipico plate(better known in colombia as bandeja paisa wich was not good, again lack of flavor I was missing a lot of typical items in a Colombian Restaurant such as empanadas,Sancocho, Chorizo, Carne Asada con arepa, chuleta apanada none of them available in the menu at this place
(2)Jairo Alejandro O.
Mondongo's has always been great. My favorite thing about this restaurant is how fast the food is served. If your strarving & don't want to wait an hour to be seated & another hour to eat, then this is the place to go. I traveled to Medellin, Colombia last week & unfortunately I didn't have the pleasure to eat @ their "Parque Lleras" location. Favorite Dish: Tipico Mixto
(5)Benswing R.
Very good columbian food. Restaurant was decorated very casually, but the food was very good. Friendly wait staff and received our food quickly. Overall a positive experience.
(4)Bernardo A.
The service is friendly, the place is clean, the prices are reasonable and as some other reviewers mentioned, the portions are huge, which is not necessarily always a good thing. The menu is too limited. No empanadas. No chorizo. No sancocho? Is it possible to have a Colombian restaurant and not serve sancocho? Of course, I ordered the mondongo. It was tasty, but the tripe and vegetables were so finely chopped that it missed all the textures this dish is known for. Good, but far from great. We ordered patacones which in this case were whole green plantains butterflied, flattened and fried. They were good, but except for the shape not any different from the patacones or tostones you get in any Latin restaurant in Miami. We also ordered a plato tipico which in this case includes half a plateful of white rice (not as sticky as Caribbean style rice but not as dry as American style rice), a small bowl of red beans (they were the best part of the dish), half of a fried ripe plantain, one arepa, one salted potato (a small, boiled red bliss potato), a strip of super dry chicharron which I know was sitting under a heat lamp for hours, and about a cup an a half of ground beef. But it's not just ground beef. It's ground beef with all its moisture cooked out of it and then ground again into a fine powder. All this topped by what's supposed to be an over easy/medium egg which in this case was an over-well, steamed egg. Half of an avocado, with skin and sticker, as well as a banana and a bowl of cilantro is served on the side. Other people in our party ordered the ajiaco which looked good and a grilled steak which in essence is the same grilled steak one gets in every Latin restaurant in Miami. Deflated by the disappointment and inflated by the quantity of food that was served, nobody in our party wanted to stay for dessert or coffee. Mondongo's is an OK restaurant for people who grew up on this food and want to eat an every-day, inexpensive meal. It's not a good restaurant to really experience how special and diverse Colombian food is.

I enjoy Mondongo's as a great lunch place, having not been for dinner. They have a large space and open seating (great for events or groups), clean and very friendly atmosphere. The staff is always friendly and greets you with a smile. The prices are a bit high in comparison to other Colombian places in the area - but the food is quite good. Solomo a la Planca (grilled flank steak with platano maduro (sweet plantain), avocado, tomatoes, rice and arepa (white corn cake) is my typical choice, though I've had the Punta de Anca (same with a thicker, tender cut of steak), and the pork. The pork was overdone and bit dry, however the two steaks options are always done quite well, enjoyed with a bit of chimichurri, aji picante or aji dulce (spicy or sweet sauce). Their signature dish is a tripe soup (mondongo) that is said to be fantastic, though I've not had it.
(3)Carolina M.
The food is as good as you can get in Colombian food in Miami. I'm from the Colombian Atlantic Coast, and most of the dishes are not from there...However, for comfort food, is a good place. The place is clean and the waiters really friendly. They have all the Colombian sodas and beers, a small variety of desserts...but overall, it makes me feel good. Try the Bandeja Paisa (I think they call it Tipico...), the Mondongo soup (tripe soup) is out of this world...add some lime, white rice and avocado and you'll love it...

First time I've had Colombian food; I liked it! People here are friendly, place is clean, the food is tasty and inexpensive... and the coffee was amazing!

hung over? dont wana be? have some mondongo soup!!!! dude this will wake up the dead! just try it then find out whats in side. if your a vegetarian or a or all those that dont enjoy meat, avoid big time! this is a great place that started in medellin, colombia. beautiful city by the way! it is also very cheap and by far the best service in miami!
(5)Maria G.
Best empenadas in Miami. Incredible Colombian food. The seating can be a little tight but it is worth it!!!!!!!!!!!!
(5)Angie C.
Best mondongo ever! Just like in Colombia!
(5)Luis M.
I work in the Doral area and this place is such a great deal for lunch time. They have some delicious food with a limited menu, but everything on that menu is jaw dropping good. The best part is that for 10-13 dollars you could split a huge meal with someone or have enough left overs for the next day. This place is really good with their service as well, they sit you quickly and get anything you ask for promptly. Definitely worth checking out.
(5)Anaisabel G.
Looking for some home made tastin' Colombian food? This is where you can find it! La Pandeja Paisa is delish... Fried egg, rice, chicharron, beans, avocado slice, and platanito frito on one plate is the reason why I always go to Mondongo's when I'm starving at work. Beautiful disaster.
(4)Janis V.
I just loved it! I am colombian, and have been living in this country for over 5 years now. The mondongo tastes the same as the ones served in my country. The portions are hughe! So I strongly suggest the half portion, believe me is more than enough.
(5)Simon H.
They have the best Colombian food I ever have in the United States. The mondongo's flavor is the same as the one served in Medellin, delicious!! If you are looking for the best Colombian food in Miami don't miss this place, you are going to be amazed. I love Colombian cuisine and I can tell you, they are great!!
(5)Tatiana E.
Delicious Colombian food! It feels like you are there! The people are soooo nice :) The food is amazing :) If there are picky kids in your party, I suggest the chicken nuggets and french fries. They don't taste greasy and acutually fill up your belly :) Recommended!

hallelujah! hallelujah ajiaco! i was telling some zany friends from bogota, colombia, about how much i missed mercedita's bestest ajiaco in the whole wide world, when they insisted on inviting us to lunch. they really had to twist my arm though when i was told they served ajiaco at this fine establishment- ha! what is ajiaco? WHAT IS AJIACO? why it is the most fabulous soup ever! the proper ajiaco ingredients are as follows: -chicken soup, chicken chunks -corn on the cob cut into two or three pieces for nice messy finger eating goodness -three kinds of potatos including the hard to procure papa criolla. -guascas a vital herb that is essential to the dish -cream -capers -sliced avocados -and cilantro IT WAS EXCELLENT! we drank beer mixed with postobon soda. the decor is nice and reminded me of colonial farmhouse style restaurants i used to frequent in my past life. the other dishes were great too including the grilled meats. we concurred that we owed our zany amigas big time- but that is a fresh fish story for another day.

i only get an hour lunch break. not an hour and two minutes, an hour. sixty minutes. so i was a bit hesitant about going to mondongos for lunch yesterday because i thought it was going to take longer than my hour. i was wrong. i went with a couple of co-workers and the place was packed, the hostess gave us one of those pagers and our table was ready in 5 minutes. we knew what we wanted already, i guess you go to mondongos to get the mondongo (yes, cows stomach) so we ordered right away. our order was out on our table so fast, it must have been five to eight minutes. it was my first time having colombian mondongo. i liked it. its a hearty soup and you do need to add the cilantro and the spiced sauces to make it more flavorful. it also comes with half an avocado, a banana and a mini-arepa. i finished the whole bowl and got sleepy. we made it back to the office just in time, ill definitely go back for lunch sometime, and yes, the ladies are kinda cute there ... what? im just sayin...
(4)Rob C.
the interior is very nice; modern art adorns the walls, wood trim, crowded with people, just a very pleasant locale. simple menu, fast service, i think a little more love could be put into the food (had tipico mix $12.75), mondongo tasted good, the egg/rice/ground beef/plantain/chicharron came out a little assembly line-like, corporate feel rather than that homey touch.
(4)Fabiola F.
Been here few times and I like it. I've been to better places but I can't complain. This is good enough, the service is excellent and FAST!!! I ordered a steak which was delicious and my friend's ordered a Plato TÃpico and was very delicious, huge and inexpensive. All the plates are huge, delicious, fulfilling and inexpensive.
(4)Giovanna H.
Very good Colombian food but it's an overrated restaurant. There are so many other Colombian restaurants to visit! This is like the Sergio's for Colombian food
(4)Luis G.
The food is okay. I ordered the mixto which is a combination of bandeja Paisa with Mondongo. The Mondongo was delicious but part of it was the fact that I hadn't had Mondongo in a while so I enjoyed it. The bandeja Paisa was okay. I had better ones in other Colombian restaurants in Miami. All together I enjoyed the food. I could not get past the fact that the waitress lacked customer skills. She was terrible. All she did was take our order and run the food. Very bad interactions. We all wanted coffee at the end and she came and took one persons order and left. We didn't realize the coffee was order because she never offer anyone anything else As for the coffee once we had to tell her that we all wanted coffee she asked what kind. We order a cafe con Leche which in turn she brought us a coffee and milk on the side. The coffee was so watered down that once you added the milk it tasted like coffee sucked in water. Bad for a Colombian place Lastly we asked for the check at least 6 times. I was about to loose my cool and be rude but my friend handled the situation. She took like 25 min to bring us the freaking check. Once it made it to the table and we gave her the credit card she said she had to get an iPad. Mean while the other server is sliding a credit card behind us and telling her that she could just process the check there.

The BEST bandeja paisa ever!!!! And in my opinion my all time favorite Colombian restaurant... I was first introduced to this place by my Colombian bestie and go figure!!! She'd definitely know the best of her country!!! Ever since I specifically go there and religiously order the following every time: empanaditas for starters (they have amazing salsas on the table for them), and for Main dish...drum roll....Bandeja paisa which comes with: white rice, avocado, ground beef, chicharon, a banana, a mini arepa, and side of frijoles, and for dessert an espresso w mini cookies :p Colombians know how to make good food!!! And Mondongos does it right!
(5)Felipe Z.
Okay so this place is not bad, just had a better Colombian food experience elsewhere and cheaper. I wouldn't jump the gun in summing this up as Colombian food though. It's regional and they base it on what they know. Now there is many other regions in Colombia some more diverse than others that are definitely worth experiencing. But like I said the place is not bad, it offers good food and great service 2 main components in dining at a restaurant and I believe they've got it just with many more places competing. If they offered a more complete Colombian culinary experience then it could possibly be the best Colombian restaurant in the city (given to stay true to the recipes).
(2)Mirielle C.
Came here with family on a Saturday night. I think the food is good, but a bit pricy. The inside decor doesn't match the outside in my opinion. My bf had to send his steak back bc it was undercooked. Their kids meals are a lil dismal. The Solomo was good though and I would venture to say the best looking item in the menu. I wish they had more selection, I think their menu is selectively sparse in their offerings. The Brevas with Arequipe dessert were great though. The best Colombian in this area is a hole in the wall called Patacon Pi'sao, go there instead. I would come again but I would hurry back.
(3)Carlos M.
Got the tipico mixto Waiting time is good Service is excellent Plate is huge and it's good for two people Will comeback
(4)Karina G.
Half a star is not an option or I would have given half. The food is okay. I have had better. I ordered an ajiaco. It came with about three strands of chicken. I ordered a bandeja paisa and the meat was ground beef. I ordered delivery and no one advised me that it wasn't going to be skirt steak. The ground beef was SO DRY, I could barely swallow. When I called to complain, Ana Maria told me she would call me back and never did. When I spoke with the manager or owner she was even more rude. I'm not picky. But this place is too expensive to have arrogant service.

Look people I'm simple, if I can only eat at 2 places for the rest of my life it would be Mondongos and Flanigans (don't judge me). I'm Colombian(medellin to be exact) and I've eaten at ALOT of different colombian places and this one is my favorite. if it was up to me i would eat here every sunday with the family. Ok lets start with why i love this place so much. Honestly,it feels like home. When we go there we are treated like we are family. I have been to plenty of colombian places and have encountered numerous stuck up colombian woman that work at these places. this place is different(i was kinda surprised at first). I have been here over 20 times(no,I am not exaggerating) and I have never met or had a waitress that I had to curse out or complain about. I've met dam near everybody that works here except the cooks(umm why don't i know the cook?) and everyody is really polite and i've never had a bad vibe from any of my waitresses. (not to mention I love my Colombian woman and they have some beautifull woman that work there) Yea sometimes we have to wait for about 20-30 minutes but its worth it. OK quick history lesson, Mondongos is a restaurant that started in Medellin Colombia. This is the only Mondongos in the States. So that might explain why the wait can take a while sometimes. i usually order a beer or a soda while i wait to be seated. You can wait outside or there are seats inside to wait as well. The restaurant is spacious, so even when its packed it still feels spacious. Ok now we get to the food. I have tried everything on the menu(seriously,i have). The one thing I will promise you is no matter what you order, seriously no matter what! you will never finish your meal and feel like it was horrible. I always start off with an order of chicharron,a small mondongo and an order of empanadas. the empanadas are not all that. They are small and full of potato(if you are lucky u might see a lil piece of meat in there). If you are coming for the empanadas you are wasting your time. But all in all I still get them. what can i say? i'm addicted to empanadas. The chicharron is really good. nice and crispy and it comes with sweet fried banana. Now the Mondongo is what i would recommend You have to try when you come here. This soup is delicious. add a little lime and some cilantro and your in heaven.(i'm getting hungry) Now for the main entrees, the bandeja paisa covers basically every food group known to mankind. Not my favorite because the meat is a dry ground beef that im not into. So I always get the steak or the chicken with rice and plantains. The chimi churri sauce is really good here. i am very picky with my chimi churri, a majority of the people make it way too oily. Not here, its just right. I did read some reviews and yes,if u do order your meat cooked a certain way it mihgt not come like that all the time. i have experienced that. but u know what? ITS STILL DELICIOUS! for that yall can go to a steak place where they take pride in that. but if u want good ol fashion colombian food than you come here!

JUST ABOUT THE BEST MONDONGO While waiting for our ride, we were talking to one of the hotel's valet about how much Yu-go enjoyed tripe and its many versions. Some Latino cultures call it menudo while others call it mondongo, but never mondongo Columbian style. Alvaro our valet and a native Colombian says we must try Mondongo's mondongo...It's the best there is. We took along L.M. our Puerto Rican born assistant who is a mondongo fanatic. The small bowl of mondongo was totally inadequate to satisfy L.M. and Yu-go. They agreed it was unbelievably smooth and the best they had ever experienced. During our re-visit two weeks later, those two had no intentions of sharing and each ordered the largest bowl of mondongo for themselves. That is a ringing endorsement and a half.
(5)Stormi F.
Simple, beautiful food. The waitress was an absolute doll! She brought us out samples of a juice she didn't know the English translation of and it was divine! We had the fresh blackberry and lemon juice, we drank it down very quickly! She also brought us out samples of their famous Mondongo (sortof like Mexican menudo) and chicken soup. The chicken soup was my favorite, since I've had menudo and can't quite get past that it's stomach lining I'm eating. We all ordered the beef steak and one ordered the chicken plate. The avocados were ginormous, the plantains were soft and savory and the chimichurri was tasty. The beef steak was lightly seasoned and just simple, but the portion size was more than adequate. The chicken and beef were both tender and juicy. It was a nice change from the usual bar food scene that surrounds so many hotels in any area we travel to.

As I now refuse to eat at Monserrate. I had a craving for Colombian food and I had no choice but to give this place a try. I'm glad I did. The inside looks nothing like what you would expect (judging from the exterior). It definitely has like a school cafeteria vibe. The menu was rather small. They specialize in soups and pretty much bandeja paisas. Not going to lie. It was really good. Lots of flavor and very fresh. They also give you a slice of avocado with your badeja paisa which is nice. Service was excellent. Food was event better. Totally recommend this place.
(4)Dave C.
When i want to eat good colombian food, mondongos is a great option, even though the menu is not extensive, it has the essentials. Bandeja paisa, momdongo, etc. The restaurant is ample and the service is ok. They have a good juice selection and the average ticket is on budget.
(4)Camila L.
Im Colombian and I think this is the only place in Miami I would say the taste is as similar. The service is great and the Mondongo soup is the best thing they have.
(5)Frank T.
Excellent food! I've been going there for the last 5 years and it's the best Colombian restaurant in Doral. Prices are competitive and service is fast and easy. Keep up the good work guys! It's the ideal place for lunch.
(5)Andi T.
Went here for the first time yesterday for lunch. Staff was friendly and polite. Seated quickly. Food came out of kitchen quickly- for a large party of 7 people, they made great time. Colombian styled food. Arepa and fish were good. Would definitely revisit.
(4)Kat R.
So sorry for this place.. It doesn't make sense that your are reserving for a party of 8 people and they don't let you sit and order until everybody arrived to the restaurant. The hostess are very rude
(1)Cathy G.
So their empanadas are so small!!!!! I was expecting a nice big meat filled one but there was only potato inside and literally the size of my thumb... They have limited meals not a good Colombian restaurant :(
(1)Jacqueline M.
This Colombian is one of my faves! I always order Plato Tipico which never dissapoints. Plates are huuuuge! You will not leave hungry. Love the flavors, love the cooking, love the people...all around great place to have authentic Colombian food at a moderate price.
(5)Elena G.
ENORMOUS AMOUNTS OF DELICIOUS AUTHENTIC COLOMBIAN FOOD! I come back to this place as much as i can i always leave so happy, they serve you a lot and they pretty much get everything from start to finish RIGHT! it isnt expensive its just tasty with fast service even in rush hour lunch! love it! come here for a delicious meal , they serve you so much and so many sides it makes my tummy happy :D
(5)Katherine M.
Delicious. Never been to Colombia, but I'm pretty sure it's as if I were. The ambience, the food, the prices are all great. Had chicken breast with tostones and a side salad, which was cooked to perfection and to die for. Lunch time gets pretty packed, sometimes even a wait time, but you'll leave satisfied, that's for sure!
(5)Jose U.
If you like Colombia food you must try this place. It has a home cooking flavors in every dish. Really good paisa food, las bandejas or sancocho a must! The pork skin nice an crunchy lots of flavor and not extra greasy!!
(4)Cindy C.
The mondongo soup here is awesome! Don't order steak because even though you tell them medium well or just medium they will bring it out well done; I don't understand why do they even ask you how you want your steak cooked for?
(3)CJ R.
This place is for a very specific audience and I do not fall into it, menu has very few items which are just OK
(3)Joaquin P.
Poor customer service, regular food, there is a lot better Colombian places out there, if you can avoid this place
(2)hank t.
Delicious! Thought we were going for Mexican but was surprised to find a taste of authentic Nicaraguan food in Miami. Started with the empanadas and chicharon which were not as good as I've experienced at other places. We had the grilled pork steak and grilled chicken which came with sliced tomato, half an avocado, rice and corn cake. Add the homemade hot sauce and chimmichurri and it was delicious. Saw entry of bowl of different soups which I'm going to try on my return. As an added bonus they have TV for sporting events so we were able to watch some World Cup,too. Servers are very helpful and pleasant but can be a little slow to return once the meal has been served.
(3)Daniel B.
Mondongo's is an authentic Colombian restaurant. There are three locations: two in Colombia and this one in Doral (Miami area). You know this place is legit when its other two locations are actually in Colombia. I had lunch here on Friday and enjoyed the food, mainly because of the items I'd never tried before (even after all the Latino culinary excursions I've had in Atlanta). It doesn't need to be said, but Miami definitely has Atlanta beat on Latin cuisine. Mondongo's looks and feels like a chain-style family restaurant. It's a sit-down place with plenty of seating and servers. When we went on Friday in the early afternoon, there was about a 10-minute wait. This restaurant stayed busy the entire time we were there. Even after we left, there was still a wait. The center of the restaurant has an island bar with a bunch of exotic fruit juice machines. Cool. The floorplan is open and spacious and the environment lends itself to large group and family dining. The staff that served us (one of them was Adriana) seemed helpful, efficient, and spoke English well. The menu is generally simple. You can order mondongo (tripe soup), ajiaco (potato soup), or grilled beef, pork, chicken, or fish. Expect to spend anywhere from $10-17 per entree. The portion sizes are large. The table comes with two ajis (spicy sauces) that you should try. One of them is green (aji picante) and the other is red (aji dulce). They're both spicy, but the red is milder. I ordered the Tipico Mixto ($14) which came with the following: Corn cake Shredded cilantro One banana A fresh slice of a jumbo avocado Crispy fat back White rice Finely ground beef topped with an egg Steamed potato One whole plantain A bowl of mondongo A small bowl of red beans As you can see, this was a lot of food, so consider sharing/splitting dishes with others if you come here. Most of the foods were pretty straightforward. A banana is a banana, an avocado is an avocado, white rice is white rice, etc. I will say that of all the fresh foods, everything was ripe. In order to fully enjoy the Tipico Mixto entree, you must mix a lot of things together and liberally use the table-provided aji sauces. Otherwise, you'll just be sitting there eating mostly flavorless white corn cakes and rice. The crispy fat back was good and they gave me a nice, large piece. It's pre-cut into sections. It's like eating bacon with lots of fat on it. Definitely not good for your heart health, but tasty and certainly crispy as the name describes. I recommend eating this one with your hands, even though your hands will get greasy. The finely ground beef that's served with the rice is interesting because it's shredded so thinly. It's ground to a consistency that is finer than even rice grains or couscous. The flavor and texture still resemble beef, though. Be sure to mix this one well with the aji, mondongo, or beans. It tastes better that way. As for the mondongo, I found it to be a mild soup. I like tripe and did not think there was enough tripe in this soup. Instead, there was more of other ingredients such as (presumably) potato, corn, and other vegetables. Regardless, I was still satisfied by the soup and finished all of it. In the end, I give Mondongo's 3.5 stars rounded up to 4. They offer some unique dishes which are hard to find anywhere else. I think everyone should try mondongo at least once in their lifetime.
(4)Mari C.
Horrible. Third time I've been and third time fool is cooked poorly. Order wrong and this last time I saw roaches.. Stay away
(1)Rebeca M.
It was my first experience with Colombian food and it was unbelievable, it's hard to describe what it made me feel. The simplicity of the ingredients have me so much comfort. I highly recommend la bandeja paisa and mondongo, also the solomo was cooked to perfection very juicy and delicious!
(5)Paul P.
We were on our way to the Miami airport and needed a nice lunch before our flight. I checked Yelp to see what Colombian restaurant was available close to the airport. Mondongo's looked good. Siri, take me to Mondongo. We arrived about 2:00 on a Thursday. The parking lot was pretty full but we managed to find a space. We entered and were shown a nice table for two. I ordered the mixta and my spouse ordered the Fish. The meals arrived quickly. I knew that my soup would contain tripe. I decided I was gong to go for it. I am glad I did. Good flavor turned great when I added a spoonful of the green hot salsa that was on the table. Always eat your soup hot. Cold tripe is not my favorite. Next i mixed the egg, rice, beans plantains and the meat mixture all together. Add some of the great green sauce and you have an absolutely wonderful meal with all sorts of great tastes and flavors. The meal kept me filled up for hours. I was fortunate enough to have a taste of the fish my spouse ordered. It was cooked perfectly. Overall a great meal. Thank you!
(5)Claudia S.
Always a pleasure to order my to-go lunch from here! Great customer service and the way they pack your food up, there is no comparison! Banana, lime, hot sauce, sweet sauce, avocado...the works! You won't be disappointed
(5)Albert L.
Best colombian food in this town. We come every week and the customer service is excellent. Thanks
(5)Jimmy R.
Food is great. Service on the other hand is to to be desired for. Slow staff. They place the after you've already been seated. Then they a sooo slow. Most of the food is pre-prepped. So I don't get it. The staff needs to go to timing classes.
(3)Jasmin M.
It's just so good. That's it, I keep it simple.
(4)Charlie F.
Authentic Columbian food, done so very well! I ordered the Tipico Mixto and loved it. Large portions, good food, great service, and you won't walk out hungry. I had to try the bowl of Mondongo and although I'm not fan of tripe I had to give it a whirl but once I got past the thought I had some it and it was rather bland, so I didn't finish it. The rest of the meal was great. Remember you have to ask for the check, they won't bring it you here because it's considered rude because they're not asking you to leave. Enjoy!
(4)Jeeter B.
Awesome lunch experience even if you don't speak any espanol! Fair prices, excellent service, food amazing. Highly recommend.
(5)Rosario P.
This review is more of a 3.5..But didnt feel comfortable rounding it up to 4. Mondongo's is a Colombian restaurant in the heart of Doral. It right nex tot my job so I have lunch here often. I usually order the "Ajiaco" which I enjoy a lot, but I have ordered other items that have been mediocre at best. One thing I really enjoy about this place is that they pretty much serve EVERYTHING with avocado, and I love me some avocado. The prices are very reasonable, and the service is always polite.
(3)Aileen T.
It was ok. Good atmosphere, good appetizers, ok service, decent food. They were pretty busy, and so I understand the service being a bit slow. The food though could've used a little more flavor. I've had columbian food before and I remember there being more flavor to it ( I got the grilled fish). The bean and mondogo small-sized soups were delicious though! I ended up having two of the bean soups! Overall it was a decent good experience, but nothing spectacular for being a columbian restaurant in south Florida. My expectations were perhaps a bit too high.
(3)Marlyn M.
The food was okay but totally overrated. I've had more variety for better prices and MUCH BETTER SERVICE. Never again coming here again. Tried to trick us to pay triple tip. Sneaky colombians...stick to another colombian spot. Seriously they don't even have a real bandeja paisa...??
(3)Seb W.
The best Colombian place in town. They have enormous mondongo bowls, fresh fruit juices, and delicious bandeja paisa. I have not ventured too deep into this menu but if you go with either item or both you cannot go wrong. I just wish they had one closer to brickell or coral way.....
(5)Dalia G.
This place was a great find. The food was authentic and super yummy. If you are a fan of "empanadas", the appetizer "empanaditas" are deceiving. They are super tiny and not what you are used to... it's a tease, but still quite tasty. The portions for the most part are pretty big and you get alot of variety.
(4)Yasmany S.
Talk about some nice home cooked meal. Every time I go to Modongo's I get the Tipico or the Tipico Mixto if am sharing with someone. The pork rimes that come with this dish are one of the best in town and that is saying a lot with all the Cuban places around. Me being Cuban, I must say that the feel and taste like if I was in a farm back in Cuba. I have tried other dishes in the menu but for the price and amount of food, the Tipico is the way to go.
(4)S B.
Stopped by because we were overnighting in Miami before a cruise and this restaurant was down the street from the hotel. I agree with the tip that said "if you don't speak Spanish or aren't familiar with latin cuisine, this isn't the place for you". Im not fluent but am more familiar with Cuban and Dominican cuisine. Hubs to be, on the other hand.....not so much. Overall, the experience was decent. Quick seating, the server came frequently, the food was okay, the rice was delicious! We had a few issues, due to the language barrier, our meats were undercooked based on the requested temperatures but the atmosphere was nice and the servers were friendly.
(2)YD M.
Friendly atmosphere. Wait staff was friendly and very attentive. Good Colombian food. Easy parking! Very reasonably priced.
