I had the inklin' for something grilled and fishy.. so my dear hubby recommended I head here. My daughter and I headed out anticipating a delicious healthy fish lunch. MMmmmmm Plus, I love ceviche and papas a la huancaina and he had recommended those as well! Ok so off we go, skipping Mondongo's to venture to a new spot. There is no lunch menu, so expect to pay $14 and up for anything other than grilled chicken. So, we choose two fish dishes, I forgot what it was called but it had grilled Onions and a tomato sauce on it. I couldn't find the ceviche or the papas a la huancaina, could be b/c I was totally looking for a grilled fish dish. I figured Pescado al Ajillo would do the trick, mmmm GARLIC.. yum. So they give us this bread to start off with, and it was good but the dipping sauce, some blend of cilantro, vinegar and jalapenos was fan-freaking-tastic!! That was the best part of my meal. Salad did not come with my daughters meal so she ordered a side salad, it was iceberg lettuce, some green peppers, onions and tomatoes. Ok, yes a PILE of it but when I got the bill I was a tad shocked to see the side salad cost $4.50 Her fish was slathered in the sauce, I tried it and wasn't impressed. At all. My fish was swimming in oil and the garlic seemed to be soaked in it which gives me the impression that they have this 'al ajillo' oil to the side an they throw it on the grilled fish. Not how I would think a real 'ajillo' dish is prepped. Either way, it was very heavy. It was good, but heavy. My rice was yummy, but you can hardly mess up white rice. All in all, I figure $45 after the automatic 18% gratuity is a bit steep for 2 main courses, one iced tea, and a side salad. For lunch. I hear that the other dishes are awesome so I am going to give it another chance.

I'm Peruvian. I go to Lima roughly every 6 months -- I've been everywhere from Pescados Capitales to La Mar to Punto Azul-- if there is one thing I know is Peruvian food. This restaurant is one of the worst Peruvian joints I've ever been to. My ceviche tasted like it had been sitting out all day. The lime juice was bland and quite bitter. The ceviche cost $14 and was absolutely awful. The Jalea brought 3 shrimp and a ton of "bits" of chewy stale seafood. For $18 that was a horrific pile of rubbery scraps that barely fed 2 people. The waitresses don't even try since they have the audacity to include 18% tip on a meal for two. DO NOT COME HERE. When we told my sister (also Peruvian) that we had checked this place out, she said "You should have called me before, I could have saved you a ton of money" So -- save yourselves money, time and disappointment!!

I certainly don't consider myself a Peruvian food expert by I am certainly a very enthusiastic fan - This place has it all ! Papas a la huancaina, ceviche (spicy) just right and more. Wash it all down with an exotic fruit juice and your meal will be complete. It gets pretty crowded at lunch which is a good sign and the service doesn't skip a beat. There are so many good options here that unless you are 100% vegan, there will certainly be something for you in the menu. Any of their grilled fish fillets will be satisfying, or you can go the regular route with the tried and true grilled chicken breast, either way you will be a winner.

This restaurant has the benefit to be located in one of the busiest shopping plazas in doral aerea. I was invited there for a business lunch about a month ago. The place was packed and as per the waitress, it gets like that every day of the week. I noticed that 90% of the people eating there were not peruvian but business people that work around the aerea. PLEASE, BELEIVE ME !... THIS RESTAURANT DOES NOT REPRESENT THE TRADITIONAL CUISINE FROM MY COUNTRY. How do I meassured their irresposability ?... By tasting the simbol of peruvian cuisine; The Ceviche.. HOW ON EARTH WAS THAT WAITRESS AUTORIZED TO LEAVE THE KITCHEN WITH THAT THING ???..... IT WAS AN INSULT TO A HUNDRED YEARS OF TRADITION!!..... DO NOT... I REPEAT, DO NOT FOR AN INSTANT THINK THAT THIS IS PERUVIAN FOOD. THIS IS NOT EVEN FOOD ... There is many places in Miami with very good quality of peruvian food. For now I recomend any other peruvian restaurant. Even if it's average, you will be eating better than here. I swear !

I haven't been to this location in a while. But whenever I go there, the ceviche is very fresh and good. The Jalea de Mariscos is also very good and fresh.

It wasn't meant to be. Were my wifes first words as we walked out. The jalea mixta was a huge disappointment, tiny dish with all frozen pieces. Where is the fish? I kept searching with no result. Guess its called fishing for a reason. The mussels were smaller then a dime. Very poor. Choros ala chalaca, came warm, clearely frozen. Tasted old. Going home to cleanse my stomach. My wife had arroz chaufa which looked nice tasted best out of all the dishes we tried, I feel bad for writing such a poor review but this place needs a make over.

This place is okay. Its kind of pricey for Peruvian food. At one point their food was awesome, but I have had to send my order back a couple of times already. The last couple of visits was okay. They might be getting back on track. They are the same owners as Cojimar Seafood and Lakes Seafood. I still think Cojimar is the best one they own. Here they have the same food, just different chefs. The servers are really nice and attentive. I think it a better place for a nice lunch rather then dinner.

This place is literaly a little whole in the wall, but they have a pretty extensive menu. I ordered the Ceviche (spicy), and really enjoyed it, its served the typical Peruvian way with the corn and a little piece of sweet potato. They had seafood, chicken, and steak options as well, and everything seemed fresh.

This place has good Peruvian food but nothing to die for. Its also wayyyy overpriced! I paid almost $20 for a fish only ceviche appetizer, Unheard of! I wouldn't go back unless I had no other choice. There is better peruvian restaurants in the area. Like in the shopping center on 36 Street and about 73rd Ave. Its about 2-3 miles east of here (in the wendy's shopping center).

PERUVIAN FOOD Simply the cleanest and best Peruvian Food in Town. EXCELLENT ceviche and their Arroz Verde the Mariscos is just sensational.

Worst Ceviche so far in Miami. Not fresh, tasteless and completely bland and on top of that pricey!!! Go somewhere else for real peruvian food.

Went at lunch time and was not disappointed. I ordered the Pescado Ceviche, and the Fried Yuca with the Huancaina cheese sauce. It was wonderful! The fish was very fresh tasting and exactly what you expect in Ceviche. Sweet potato and crispy corn garnished the dish. The Huancaina cheese sauce was the best I have had in a very long time. Perfect combination with the Fried Yuca. The restaurant was very clean and tastefully decorated. The service was quick and our waitress was very polite and helpful! I will return with family as I was impressed!

Used to be good. C'mon guys you dont unfreeze a whole snapper fish in microwave and fry and serve and ask $26 for it, in florida.. Enough said.

This place is overpriced for its location and taste of the food. I ordered that tacu tacu with steak and I have had it other places and this one was salty, too wet, no curtido or onion chutney served with the dish overpriced as it was $17.00. I asked for water thinking that it is free and they charged $2.00 for a bottle of water when I didn't ask for bottle. The only good thing that I can say about this place is that THE PAPA A LA HUANCAINA was really tasty. I just remembered that I ordered the mixed ceviche and it was bland and had 3 jumbo shrimps and a whole bunch of the tiny ones that didn't even looked real. It was just disgusting. :(

Absolutely great! My favorite restaurant and the one I take family and friends to when they visit or for special occasions. Their Corvina a la Plancha dish is perfect and never fails to impress and delight. The service is warm, attentive and friendly.
