If you like authentic tapas and other dishes from Spain you'll love this place. They also have a nice market as part of the establishment with a nice selection of Spanish wines and other items from Spain. While you are there give the mango custard a try, its delicious.
Brisa de España is the closest one can get to actually being in Spain. I have carefully read the negative reviews that people leave here. I think they are mistaken. It's nothing like they have described. When I feel nostalgic about Spain, I come back to this place, It's true that the waiters don't speak English but I did not know that one must speak English to give good service. Besides, the menu is in English too. You can point, and they will understand. The fact that they don't speak English does not mean they are inefficient. MIAMI is a Spanish speaking city. That's just the way it is. MANY places have non-English speaking people. This is a wonderful restaurant and this is Miami, not Arlington. However, you DO have the right to your opinion, Jaqueline....as of today, we are still a free country (maybe not for long...) Love to all !!! You will have a blast at this restaurant.

3.5 stars. I have eaten here only once but i have bought some of their products on several times. I do no think it is outstanding considering their prices but overall I like the place. And most of all I always leave pleased with the service. Last time I went Angel, the manager, was there and he even gave my bf a discount for my 10 turrones and my cheeses, which is highly appreciated. And their cheeses, ohhh their cheeses!

So word on the street is that they're great for breakfast but unless you're willing to spend over $20 per person on lunch alone, then it may not be the best lunch spot. The cheapest paella was about this much and there was not one entree I could find that was less than that. On my recent visit to Spain, not once did i pay anywhere close to this for a paella. So I was not about to pay it in Doral...don't care how good they say it is. We were about to settle for tapas when I found ONE lunch special advertised and it seemed like a great deal. $10 would buy you soup, chicken and a dessert! This had been a great deal except someone may have spilled the salt shaker onto the plate because the chicken was inundated in salt...a flavor I care not to ever want to repeat. On a positive note, service was fast and thank goodness for the bread roll served at the beginning and the cream of potato soup and dessert...they saved the day but shortly after I was left hungry again and upset about my salty chicken. Not a fan!

Even though this is my first review of Brisas de Espana in Yelp, is a restaurant that I have been going to for years. They have a very nice Spanish ambiance and a good selection of typical Spanish dishes, appetizers and wine. In my visit today the nice surprise was a duet of guitar players, playing some nice flamenco music. The not so good surprise was that not as usually I found the Paella today a little too sticky and slightly less warm than it should be. I didn't see Don Angel, the owner around, I'm pretty sure he would have unapproved the conditions the Paella was being served today. Hopefully this experience with the Paella will not become the standard for future visits in Brisas.

If you need supplies for your Paella, its a good place to get them. For food... I have experienced better. The tortilla espanola was OK, not great and croquetas were JUST OK. I had an octopus salad concoction and again it was OK. Prices are not relative to the food, and the service we experienced was quite apathetic - as if the server really didn't want to be bothered. For those prices, please be bothered. This was for lunch, and a lunch sans alcohol for two for $60 was way too much. Hopefully they will take into consideration what many of us have mentioned, I would love a great Spanish place in the area.... if you have ever been to Spain, you know what you want. Places in Miami often fall quite short.

Just go for the paella! I've had many paellas in many different places including several in Spain and even in Valencia where it supposedly comes from. I can honestly say this is the best paella I've had at a restaurant. Ambiance is casual and laid back, not very romantic or classy, but comfortable.

My review is not about food since I didn't get that far. They should learn to respect not only their interests but customers as well since both are tied. I stopped by to purchase piece of "5J" Jamon. Came inside and had to look for someone since nobody approached me there. "Got helped" by the owner who tried to sell me 2lb leftover hard as stone. When I mentioned it to him he replied:"good Jamon is hard". I know about good Jamon and how it has to be so I walked away.

I have been coming here for years now (every Friday) and I have always had a good experience. The service is good, they treat me like family, the food is well prepared and it's good quality. The restaurant itself is also very clean. They have a good selection and variety of Spanish plates and desserts (try the mousse de chocolate and the mousse de mango!!!) It's not my favorite restaurant but it is a good place to come and relax and have a meal with the family. P.s the live music is beautiful

Ehhh, not a big Paella fan, but when my parents ordered a huge plait for a party to pick up, I arrived later than the expected time and this kind of rude employee seemed clueless when I told her my name. She went to the back, came back, asked my name for a third time, went to the back, came back, and told me they had no record of my order being prepared. WHAT? My party is in 1 hour and you're telling me my Paella isn't even prepared? Long story short, turns out they gave my order to another customer who had left 10 minutes before I arrived. You could tell she was fed up and her mind was elsewhere, so she directed me to the manager who very kindly helped me and ended up giving me ANOTHER customer's order. I mean, good for me I guess, but really? The employee even had attitude with her and the manager ended up correcting her in front of me, but at least she did. I guess out of convenience I would come back since people say the food is actually good, but they should definitely have a lot more organization and workers who at least smile when they're confused!
Why do I get the feeling that non-spanish speaking customers are not welcomed? Well, let's start with the grumpy staff who don't speak english (or prefer not to). I don't know about you, but service with a smile goes a long way. A group of us came for a visit, and a friend had been here multiple times, so we decided to venture out here in Doral. This place is half market half restaurant that sells cured meat (e.g. prosciutto, salami, etc.) and cheese. It's spanish, meaning straight from Espana, but with a a little cuban/local vibe to it. Restaurant-wise, very low key with a huge collection of wines. The menu stated that they had Dom Perignon on the menu for only $190...so hell yeah we ordered one! Except...they didn't have it. We settled for the wine on the table. It was nice, and paired well with the meal. We placed an order first for paella, since we know it can take a long time. They told us it'd be 45 minutes, but it was more like an hour instead. Perhaps, that's why we tried to order it first and if they had placed it earlier, it could've been 45 minutes. We then got a large plate of prosciutto and cheese to share. Good, nothing special. An hour later, the food comes. For the 4 of us, we shared 2 paellas, fried sea bass, and grilled veal on the bone. The veal was a bit dry, but was very flavorful. The fish was on the small side, but good nonetheless. The seafood paella was delicious and was packed with mussels, shrimp, scallops. Overall, the food was really good. If only the waiter wasn't so grumpy, and if only the food hadn't taken so long. Too many "ifs" to give this place 4 stars, which on food alone is worth it.

I am disgusted by the customer service in this establishment. For a $40 dessert I expect at least for them to be helpful but we walked in and helped ourselves to the dessert, took it to the counter while the workers by the door kept their apparently very important conversation going. Finally they decide to help us and give us a giant box where the dessert is now rolling back and forth in even after we told her it would and she insisted it would not. She asked if our trunk was too small which one no it is not but two it is something you don't ask as it sounded disrespectful and rude. We asked to close the top to which she said no because it would squish the top and we said we didn't mind because it was to be eaten by friends and family who don't care and her very profesional reply was "you do it and be responsible for that" let me tell you something, I have spent MONEY in this place in food and desserts but usually have someone pick it up for me, today I had the TERRIBLE experience of having to pick it up myself and dealing with these less than mediocre employees. For the future of this place I hope the owner rethink his staff.

An old friend, who recently returned to the company, talked me into trying Brisa de Espana in Doral for breakfast. I wasn't sure what to make of the place at first, but I will say that I was impressed. The first thing you notice when walking in is that it's like a small, Spanish version of Cracker Barrel. To the left is the store, to the right is the restaurant. My friend said that they had this meal which was basically eggs and steak on top of potatoes. It sounded great from how he described it, so that's what I ordered. What I got was a plate of, basically, potato chips with a fairly cheap cut of meat that was a little tough, and two over easy eggs. I will admit that I wasn't expecting a ribeye or porterhouse. And the steak wasn't really all that bad. It just wasn't as good as I thought it should (or could) be. The "chips" were actually very good, especially when eaten with the egg. There was also an excellent toast (baguette pressed in a panini press) to go along with it. Overall it was an okay, somewhat filling breakfast. Service is very nice. The decor is very colorful and pleasant. I did look through the store side and saw some things I want to check out next time I'm back in town. There are a lot of Don Quixote related items for sale. If you are in the area, this little restaurant is worth stopping in and giving a try. The mom and pop restaurants do not get nearly as much attention as the deserve. It certainly beat going to Dunkin' or McDonalds again.

I have lunch here all the time!! The tapas are fantastic! The chistorras al vino are my favorite along with the calamari and the pimentos piquillos. I literally can have this for lunch every day. and don't dare leave without trying the mousse de turron or any dessert for that matter, but mainly the turron mousse, it'll change your life. FACT.

I'm actually kind of shocked at a few of the mediocre reviews this is why I'm writing... The first time I came here, a friend that worked nearby had suggested that we watch the world cup here for the Spain Semi Final game. The atmosphere alone made it a great experience, but the food and service was an added bonus. I've been to Spain at least once a year for the last 13 years of my life and I can assure you that the food here in Brisa is about as authentic as the real thing. It actually reminded me of a open cafe in Burgos called "Montes". Those of you who have been will understand what I mean. I've purposely traveled to Burgos for the last 5 years simply to make a stop at Montes to have their pimientos piquillos rellenos de bacalao y bechamel. Well, when I first went to Brisa de Espana, I figured, why not give theirs a try? Sure enough, it surpassed my favorite dish and more. Since then, I make it a point to eat here at least twice a month (although out of my way). Its my personal little taste of Spain. I actually just took a date here last Wednesday and she loved it as well. Our waiter Julio had us doubled over in laughter for the majority of the night. So in conclusion, I highly recommend this place. The food is amazing, authentic and the service is about as good as it gets. Also, for anyone looking for a good paella, WOW! This one is about as good as my grandmothers, but don't you dare tell her that. Luckily, she has no idea what this whole internet thing is about.

Ive heard many great things about this Spanish Restaurant and decided to stop by for dinner the other night. The decor is very authentic and the the market has a huge selection of spanish goods and wine. The staff was extremely attentive and friendly. Ok now for the food.. To Start - Shrimp Sauteed in a garlic sauce, Caldo Gallego, and Chistorras al vino. Main Course - Chuletinas de Cordero a la Parrilla (Grilled Lamb Chop) Pargo Entero Frito (Whole Fried Snapper) Desert - Coffee and a Flan Cheescake, yes thats right, flan and cheescake together! The appetizers where very good, shrimp was very fresh and sauteed to perfection. The Caldo Gallego at this place is by far the best i have had. I am hooked! The main course at first seemed difficult to finish from all the appetiozers, but it was so tasteful that we scraped our plates. Lamp chops were delicious and grilled just right. I have had alot of seafood living in miami i will definitley be coming back for the whole fried snapper it was so fresh i could taste the ocean salt. As for the desert I will just say flan and cheescake together, Amazing. If you have not tried this, do yourself the favor and head over to this place. Again..Amazing. I give this restaurant and A+ Good place, Great Food and Awsome Staff. I will be coming back for more next time i am in the area.

I spent a summer in Spain while in college, and every now and then I get a longing for some authentic Spanish food. That's where Brisa de Espana comes in. Saturday brunch hit the spot. Ordered the bocadillo de chorizo, jamon y manchego and was transported to the days our house mom would pack up sandwiches for our trips to the beach. Salty, fresh, and the bread was perfect. Other orders at the table included paella, mahi mahi and croquetas de chorizo. Dessert was some pastry puff thing with powdered sugar on top - tried it b/c I'd never seen it before, and got my fill. Next time I'll go for another dessert. Always love this place - also recommend buying the tortilla espanola to go if you ever have an event or breakfast to attend... delicious.

As you enter to your left its a market to your right there is seating with table service. We started off with croquetas of Jamon Serrano and Chorizo they were both delicious but the chorizo won! Decided to order the paella since they had just finished making it in their humongous Paella pan and it was very appealing to the eye. What a let down it was no flavor, the clams and mussels used were miniature, not even adding hot sauce saved it. The Crema Catalana was delicious but they didn't caramelize the sugar so it had a bit of a watery consistency.

Went there for an early dinner with my husband. Small restaurant, but the food was great! The tortilla was warm and delicious. The Paella was good and the portion was huge. Unfortunately, the service was Terrible. The waiter had a terrible attitude and would only come to the table 20 minutes after waiving him down. He would walk next to our table and never ask if we needed anything. Would want to go back for the food, but would have to give it a second thought because of service.

Great food and great service! The tapas are outstanding (try the piquillo peppers, chorizo a la sidra, and croquetas de bacalao -- YUM), the wine selection is extensive, the entrees are great (and plentiful -- you will not leave hungry!), and the desserts are unparalleled. Fantastic!

Worst Spanish Restaurant I have ever been to in Miami. Food and service were appalling. I went with a group to eat lunch and everything we ordered from the empanada to the cold cuts and cheese platters was disgusting. The empanada was greasy, soggy, and tasteless. You would think a cold cuts and cheese platter would be fool proof but they even managed to ruin that. The cheese was so aged it was spoiled and tasted terrible. This place is also completely over priced, especially for the area. The cheapest entree they have is $18. For 6 small pieces of cheese and 6 small pieces of cured meat they charge $12. The server was rude from the moment we sat down and even though the restaurant was empty (now I know why) we had to flag her down and ask for everything including our drinks because she didn't even ask us what we wanted to drink when we were seated. She stood around chit chatting with the other employees and did not come check on us or ask if we needed anything the entire time. The only thing she did for us was bring out the food from the kitchen, thats it.We found it strange that the owner was sitting there the entire time and allowed his staff to treat clients like this. We got the bill and were surprised to find that tip was already automatically included. I use to work in the service industry for years and I always leave good tip but I will not be forced into leaving tip for terrible service. Tip is earned, it is not something that is automatic and to be expected. We paid our bill in cash minus the tip and left. As we are getting into our car the owner flags us down and I thought he was going to ask what went wrong to try to correct the problem. I would have gladly given him my feedback. I couldn't have been more wrong. He came out and made a scene in front of everyone and started yelling at us that we had no conscious or heart b/c the waiters only make $4 an hour and live off tip and how dare we not leave tip. I tried explaining that the server was very rude and did not give us any service and that was the reason we did not leave tip and he told us that it did not matter if the service was bad we should have still left tip and that is why he includes it automatically on all bills. He continued to scream and insult us, not letting us get a word in, and only stopped when my boyfriend got out of the car. We are all still in shock that a restaurant business owner would act like this. It is clear he has no idea what he is doing. Now it all makes sense why the staff is so rude. If the owner not only condones but encourages this type of service what can you expect? If tip is automatically included what incentive does the staff have to offer good service if they know they are getting tip no matter what? Yelpers, do not go to this sorry excuse for a Spanish restaurant! I recommend somewhere like Copas y Tapas on Miracle Mile instead. The owner is very nice and the food is delicious there.

One rainy Friday, I walked in and decided to give this place a try. Everything in the shopping center its' located inside of was packed so I opted for the cozy Spanish option. The setup, I LOVE. it was decorated so perfectly with the retail side on one end and the seating area on the other end. As I browsed the menu, I was comforted to see that they had many traditional Spaniard plates that I recognize. I went with the Paella & Sangria. The paella had a bit more rice than I had wished for...but the service made up for it. The best part was the live music that started right after I ordered. It was a mesh of the Guitar, Sangria, Calamari & occasional cigarette break that made this lunch turn into the beginning of an awesome relationship. Everytime I pass by this place I think back to that rainy day & how their Paella changed my life.

Very popular place. We are eating lunch at 3PM and it is almost full. They have groceries and a full bakery too. Had the seafood soup and it was excellent! Full of a variety of seafoods. We also had the seafood paella and it was excellent as well. The portion sizes are a bit large so we split and it was still too much. Overall very authentic place with lots of atmosphere. Loved it!

First time coming to eat here and...wow! Went for dinner time and the service was great, the sangria with fresh fruit was refreshing, and the salmon was cooked just right. They also have a bakery with delicious desserts that look so good and they even have a small grocery with a variety of traditional Spanish products. I will definitely return for more!

Actually gave this place a few opportunities before writing the review but it always fell flat - There is just no value added here, except for the fact that after your meal (or before) you can walk through the mini mart and buy some authentic sweets, pastries and other items - ( We bought a "Paellera" and it works like a charm) - The food is not bad, it is just that I can find better, more representative food elsewhere - and with all the variety and diversity of place to eat in this area - I just cant bring myself to recommending it as an better option. Back to the restaurant, since the menu is pretty uneventful, they can at least make it up by making it a good dining experience with good service - Not so here ! I just have a mayor problem spending my $ at a place that doesn't value my patronage - so poor service and average food ... equals .... Skip It !

The whole experience on Friday night (last night) was fantastic. A flamenco guitarist belting out standards (e.g., Rodrigo's Aranguez) made the setting very nice. This is the only spanish restaurant I know of in Miami - and I'm confident there are more upscale ones, but this one has genuine menu offerings that harken to Iberia. We had a bottle of Crianza (Tempranillo/Mazuelo blend) as well as an Albariño (white). Opened up with two simple tortillas (one traditional, one ham/cheese). As expected, the "kid's menu" is virtually non-existent and consists of "deditos de pollo" (chicken fingers) and fries. This isn't a surprise. The menu also features only one chicken dish for those opting out of the seafood, beef, ox, lamb and veal fare. My wife and dear mother-in-law opted for that singular dish and were underwhelmed with the blandness of the dish (pan fried breast with onions accompanied by sautéed vegetables). In fact, they both preferred the deditos that where lingering on the kids plates. The deditos were done just right - and a Milanese sauce accompanying them may have given them credibility on the general menu to boot! But, I digress... I opted for the chuletas de Cordero con patatas cocidas and couldn't have been happier. Had espinacas a la crema been offered, it would have been perfect. So... Why the four stars? Well... The dessert tray presented itself and the entire table lit up. All the traditionals we're present - along with nontraditional options. Two cafe solos - we skipped the Jerez - and we wrapped up a great Friday evening! This place is a combo deal - with the left side being a storefront of hard-to-find spanish items (I picked up an lb of Bomba rice from Murcia) - and there's a website from which to order. They stock ALL of the paellas - as well as a very broad range of cazuelas. Check 'em out at brisadeespana.com

FACT.

We loved the food and environment! The piquillo peppers were out of this world...I seriously have craved them ever since. Next time we're going for the famous PAELLA. I highly recommend Brisa de Espana!! Loved it:)

Always love this place - also recommend buying the tortilla espanola to go if you ever have an event or breakfast to attend... delicious.

Great, the lobster stew was excellent. wine is always fantastic. Service also great. OnFriday night they had live music and the singer was better than some recording artists.

Loved it!

Love this restaurant. We come here often and the staff is great and treats us like family. I wouldn't say it's the best Spanish food I've ever eaten, but it's good. The paella they make on Sunday's is excellent.

I just have a mayor problem spending my $ at a place that doesn't value my patronage - so poor service and average food ... equals .... Skip It !
