They charge $20 cash at at the entrance, so before seating down I was $40 down, since I went with my friend. The music was very loud and they keep playing the same song over and over again. I left before 2 am and the band never show up. They did not refunded the money. What a waste of time and money. Buy the way the place was empty. Wish them luck!!!

Couldnt decide where to go on a saturday night and didnt want to go to far from the house so decided to try Baru. The service was okay our waiter received our order but did not come until he brought the bill. We had to ask other waiters for sauces, soda and water..we ordered the calamari which were good the antojito platter which brings chicharrones, tequenos, empanadas, and some other fried food. It was good and tasty. music was kinda boring and no dancing...maybe after we left but while we were there nothing.

Parking is a serious problem at Baru, the shopping center only has a certain number of parking spaces. This leads customers to park across the street. If you park across the street, your car will get towed. I suggest that a representative of this establishment notify their nightly customers or at least announce it every so often as a courtesy.

Tried this place for the first time on a Saturday night. We arrived after 11:00 PM and were told that the cover fee was $20 for each (men and women) which could be used to consume items at the bar except for the tips and taxes which had to be paid in cash or credit, we agreed to it because it sounds somewhat reasonable. After entering and spending more than 2 1/2 hours at the place I found the music to be not varied enough. Most of it consisted of 30+ years old merengue and salsa mixed with contemporaneous regueton and techno. I am neither young nor old but considered the music very dated. Having taken recent salsa and bachata classes I was excited to try my moves and approached the DJ to request a bachata song to which he said "no" and denied by waiving his head from side to side. I imagine they are targeting the Doral customers but I lived in Doral for over 12 years and consider the music of this place to be lacking a lot of what the intended audience of the area enjoys. Needless to say I will not be returning. EDITED: after posting I realized I did not mention other things. PARKING: plenty and free. RESTROOMS: WTH happened here?. SERVICE: it took a while to get the bartenders' attention but afterwards they took their time to explain the bill and how the consumable tickets worked.

Music was good and the staff was great. The girl at the door was just ok, could have been friendlier. Down side is that they only take cash for cover...and no amex at all. Mediocre to low end place.

This place is awful. It's trashy, dirty, ridiculously hot, and they play the same bad salsa/merengue all night long while throwing napkins and releasing white, theatrical fog at patrons. This is not a Vegas club; it's a hole in the wall in Doral. The bartenders will overcharge you if you're not careful and tip is included, which translates to unbelievably bad service most of the time. Don't even get me started on the parking...good luck finding a spot. I've had bad experiences every time I've gone. Unfortunately, coworkers pick this place for happy hour more often than not, so I've been coerced into going to this hole more than once. This space would be better utilized as a lounge or bar, not a club. The bathrooms are absolutely disgusting. Overall, it's a strange vibe and I'll be avoiding it as much as possible.

This place sucks, the dj always plays the same music and the band that plays on Fridays also sings the same songs. The A/C is not turned on and you basically sweat just standing by the bar. Management spends more time dancing on stage than looking after the place, hopefully Baru Brickell will open soon.

*Disclaimer: I have worked as a waitress before- this is coming from someone with industry experience. I came out for drinks with a few friends & they asked me to pick a place. Normally, I love coming to this location so I suggested it. I called before (since I was driving up here from Cutler Bay & my friends were driving from Mirimar) just to verified that they were open & to clarify the specials for the evening. I was told on the phone that the drink specials were 50% off on Tuesday-the entire evening. Met my friends in the patio area. Had a waitress that spoke not one word of English. She wasn't familiar with the menu or any of the specials for the evening. Every time we asked a question about something on the menu she'd go back to the bar to ask someone. It also took a very long time to order since she also wasn't too good with checking back at the table to see if we needed to order anything or if we enjoyed the food or drinks. One of my friends received the wrong dish. She was so hungry by the time she received it, rather than sending it back, she ate it. My other friend didn't receive an order of fries that she ordered to go with her entree. When we finally received the checks not only were the drinks listed at full price, but the tip was also included. When I asked about it the waitress said that happy hour ended at 8pm- contrary to what I was told on the phone when I called earlier. At that time, I had lost my patience to see whether this experience was going to get better when it clearly wasn't. I asked for the manager. I wanted to see why I was given the wrong information over the phone about the drink specials. After asking for the manager, rather than going to get the manager as requested, the waitress went back to the MICROS/OpenTable station and started handling all her other checks first. I felt as if she put an upset PAYING customer at the bottom of her priority list. We received the check at 10:15. We sat the table waiting for the waitress to come back for 30 minutes with the manager. We were finally able to speak with the manager at 10:45. It turns out that the manager was a guy airtight at the bar the whole time we were waiting. The manager, Leonardo, informed me that it was her first Tuesday working at three she wasn't familiar with the specials that evening. He was able to assist us and put the discount on the tab so that- an hour later- we could finally close our checks & leave. The whole experience was 2.5 hours of frustration. I'm not sure whether the responsibility should go to management for sending someone with lack of training to work with guests or the waitress for not making sure she knows the menu & specials well enough. Unfortunately, this is the first bad experience I've had here. I always try to give waitstaff the benefit of the doubt but after this truly awful experience, I'll be highly likely not to return. If you don't want to be run around in circles or treated like this- I would advise you to avoid this place as well.

If you're planning your next large-group gathering, Baru Urbano should be at the VERY bottom of your choice list. My coworkers and I (group of 20) had planned weeks in advance to hold our annual Christmas Party at this place; knowing full well how hectic the holidays are, and to be able to fully enjoy ourselves the night of the event. No amount of planning could have helped the unprofessional and chaotic manner this establishment handled itself and treated us. Our table which was "reserved" was compromised by a smaller table of 2 situated in a tight corner next to us. This should have been a omen of things to come later in the evening. The drinks are highly overpriced, and nothing to write home about, in terms of quality. Appetizers were served haphazardly and whenever it was convenient for the kitchen, or so it seemed. Our dinner, which had been preselected by each person, was served 2 1/2 hours after we asked to be served. Our waiters response to our gripe about waiting was, "es que son platos pesados" (translation: "I know you're probably starving, but that's not really my concern right now, have another exorbitantly priced drink"). Some of us had to get back home to take care of small children which had been left in the care of others --not allowing for time to even have dinner. When dinner did arrive, there was no service of plates, cups, dinnerware, etc. I was so upset, I couldn't stand to eat, and sent my dish back to the kitchen as well as that of my date. When I asked to speak to the manager on duty to express our dissatisfaction, his high level of indifference to our complaint further boiled me up. Do I have anything positive to say about Baru???? hmmmm.....oh yeah, the music was great.... if you have aspirations of going deaf. This is not a sit-down dinner type of place. I would not recommend this place EVER to anyone interested in just hanging out. Keep this place where it belongs, on your TO-DON'T LIST. All in all, a very disappointing experience.

I heard nothing but great things about this place. Great vibes at first, everything was great, until I got serviced. I danced my butt off, but literally waited forever to get a drink. The only people that get "great service" are the ones that pay bottle service. I work in customer service, and I know when I deserve a tip or not, but most importantly, I treat every customer equally. These people didn't give a rats ass. My dad works in a hotel, and he even told the attendant that the service unfortunately, wasn't great. I saw her roll her eyes, till she could see her brains. If you can handle bad service, that's the place to be.

Never come to this place. Especially if you have to pay to go in. They tell you one thing when you pay cover!! It's a bait and switch. You pay something in the entrance and they tell you the tickets includes two drinks and they they charge you 7.00 more per drink. This is not brickell!! This is f@$$&@ Doral!! Sorry I will never come here again!

Great new addition to my hood...finally a nice lounge, where people in their late 20's-30's can hang out. Totally loving the decor, very unique and inviting. The menu is quite large, and for the first time in a long time...I come to a place where they have PISCO SOURS! as part of their drink menu even though this is not a peruvian establishment..so right there...you got me! Live music on certain days of the week and happy hour runs until 8pm. Good tunes, great service, nice atmosphere.

Been here twice recently and the place is nice but it really has a problem. THE MUSIC IS WAY TOO LOUD. You cannot hear anything people say unless they are literally screaming it. If this place didn't put the music so loud I think I would actually enjoy it more. Music is pretty fun and upbeat and drinks are good.

We had a terrible experience! We came for a friends birthday and they required us to buy a bottle to get a table and eat. That's fine, we there to celebrate and agreed. When some of our friends wanted to get some other drinks, they refused to serve its unless we bought another bottle! Terrible customer service. We left.

Went here once. Place is nice and they had Reggae night. Asides from that, bad experience. Music was extremely loud for a Tuesday night, had to scream to the person that was right next to me. Service was horrible. We sat at the bar and the bartender Marcela completely ignored us for the night, since she was too busy talking to old, creepy men who wanted to get with her. She forgot to send our food and never went back to us to ask how anything was, even though we ordered a bottle of wine and food, and we were only 2 people. Of course she didn't care, 18% was already included in the bill. No thank you, no goodnight, not one care for service at all, but she did take a few shots with the other men.

Place is good, but can get very trashy. Been there a couple of times and about two times there have been severe fighting involved. I would say it's a good place to pre- game l, but the later, the crazier. Drinks are great and food is just alright.

Food isn't that great at all. When a person asks for a steak MEDIUM-WELL or MEDIUM; it doesn't mean WELL DONE. They need to fix that! When we order a couple of sex on the beach cocktails which is a very common cocktail everywhere the customer expects you to make it. They can't even make it. The decorative is so creative but they need to work on food and drinks. The location in Brickell was so much better; too bad they closed it down

I've only been this Baru location once, and I was so disappointed with this place. I came a Friday night for a good friend's birthday. The bouncer charged my fiance a cover, but he said girls could go in for free. However, I found out inside he had charged cover to some of my girl friends. What on earth? The place was very crowded, which is not the problem, the problem was the type of crowd. A lot of older men praying on young girls in a very disrespectful manner. Two of my girl friends were being constantly harassed by drunk men. I would not go back to this location. I've been to the Baru in brickell and it was such a different environment.

We where looking for a place to celebrate my wife's birthday last friday with a nice group of friends. A week earlier we went to look at the place and liked it enough to decide to do it there. The crowd is mostly of hispanic descent, late 20s to early 40s, mostly seeming like well educated people. The music is both DJ and live, and caters to the crowd, ranging from todays dance hits to salsa, merengue and bachata. They have a great dance floor and people where dancing all night long. They have a great bar and excellent food, with Colombian and Venezuelan classics like arepas, fried pork, empanadas, and many others. They also have a pretty good drinks menu. If you're Hispanic, or enjoy this type of music, this is absolutely a great place. I called during the week and spoke with the Assistant Manager, Mr. Alfonso Paez who explained their system for birthday parties. You pay for a bottle of your choosing per table (approximately every 4-5 people), and they give you balloons, champaign for a toast and a cake all courtesy of the house. Without any hassle when we arrived the hostess Marcela and the staff had set up our tables outside as requested, with the balloons the exact color my wife wanted (they offered us a choice of colors) and we had brought a cake ourselves, which they immediately took to the back and refrigerated for us until it was time to use it. Our waiter Eric was immediately available thru out the night, which is surprising as the place was quite busy. Everything went smoothly, even when after the party and arriving home my wife realized she had left her purse on the table back at the club. Amazingly enough at 230am, the security supervisor Jose found it and took it to the back for safe keeping. When we got back to the club Jose was just waiting for us there with it and nothing was missing. I rarely write reviews this long, but long story short, Alfonso Paez the Assistant Manager clearly runs a great establishment. They take extra steps to cater to their clients. It was a pleasure meeting Marcela, Jose, Eric and everyone. We are very grateful for an excellent service and very highly recommend this Club.

We were in the mood for a little latin flavor this particular night so we decided to check out Baru in Doral. Convinient no hassle parking on the shopping strip and above shops. At first I thought this place will probably be meh since located in a shopping center but once in, you quickly forget where you are. The ambiance is great and the decor is very modern, chic with a half open patio leading inside. Lots of fresh air coming through. To my surprise, there was no cover charge. Many of the tables were reserved which I believe you can call ahead to do so. Not a problem, we found ourselves a cozy spot in the bar. The drinks were fantastic. I was drinking a cocktail I believe was called Coquetta with ciroc berry. Great drinks, great vibe, and good prices. The music was a mix of latin, salsa, and dance music. Crowd was like an upscale non pretentious late 20s early 40s mix. Everyone was there to dance and have a good time. All in all, we had a fab time. If you're looking for something fun to do in the Doral hood, this is your place.

There are several Miami locations. This one is in the burbs in Doral. It's a strange place. Some outdoor seating and a bar inside. Outdoor is nice, inside isn't so clean. Turns from a restaurant to a dance club pretty quickly. It's a good atmosphere and there's always people Latin dancing. The two things I don't like about this place are the service and the fact that they don't tell you what the prices of drinks are until you get a bill for over a hundred bucks. Then you're stuck.

So, we decided to visit one week after it opened. I have been fan of Baru Brickell and I was excited to visit this one since it is 2 miles from my house. Well, not bad. You can tell they are still working their kinks. So let help you; Entrance; I am not sure why you need a bouncer checking ID's when there where a few of the usual Venezuelians with the teenage kids there. Hostess: you could be a little less hostile when since there is no sign describing that the hi tops outside or the low benches are reserved, you should be nicer to clients that take over the liitle space not knowing. Example: YOU NEED TO MOVE BECAUSE THIS TABLE IS RESERVED!!! Instead I would say, Sir, I apologize, but I need to tell you that this particular table is reserved, however if you need a table, follow me and let's set you up with one. See the difference??? I am sure you will get this down at some point. Just bring some of ur Brickell folks there to train them. As for the bartenders A+++ very good and willing to keep your glass full. The food looked good, we had just had dinner at the Mediterranean place next door. I will be back, HH is next... The decor is cool,

So I have been waiting for this place to open for months, it is far past time Doral got some decent bars. The good news is that the decor is fun and inviting (love the baskets with the christmas lights, I am definitely poaching that idea from your decorator). However, I am not entirely sure that the prices will work in the current economy, and the place was all but deserted on Halloween. In any case, I will go back again for Happy Hour to see the place again.

Sometimes its hard not to rate a place based on the night you had. Although I am tempted to shoot for the stars with this one I have to remind myself that my fabulous bunch can make even the downtown bridges look appealing and even nose picking exciting. So with that I am working hard and excluding them from the equation and rating Baru for Baru, not for the time I had there. First off I am thrown off that such a cool spot can be in just another Doral shopping center but once you walk in you feel like you're in just another spot in midtown. I love the ambiance and the vibe here but only visually. The staff is very... well... "Doral" if that makes sense. Don't expect to speak to them in English and if you do expect for them to respond in Spanish. This goes for everyone else that occupies the place not just the staff. The crowd is definitely different than what I am use to, but inviting nonetheless. We tried a few appetizers on the menu. I found it kinda odd that the waiter tried to steer us from what turned out to be our favorite, the Leek Dip. Imagine a cheese soup in a bread bowl with some more bread on the side. You really can't go wrong. Drinks were ok. My pineapple gaipirina was clearly made with canned pineapples which was a bit of a mixology no no. But I took it down and asked for another drink anyway. Once the liqour started flowing through the bloodstream the place became more appealing. However, when we arrived they seemed to be setting up for live music on their stage, about 3-4 hours later, we left still waiting for someone to get up there and perform. I recommend this place to locals who want to feel like they're getting out of Doral without taking the lengthy drive or who just want a quick happy hour close to home. Other than that, close your eyes, suck up the spiked gas prices and head East!

NO BACHATA, overpriced cover. and the pitchers are horrible. if you ask for ice on the side they bring u half a pitcher. and the alcohol level inside it is minimum... all drinks are overpriced for the alcohol they put in it. its like they are playing cheap on alcohol. music is good, but ive experienced better.

Excellent place!! They have half price food and drinks on happy hour! The music was awesome. I was so tired because work but i began dancing because their latin music. I really loved it

First time I visit this Baru. I usually go to the one in Brikell. I was there this past Friday to watch the soccer game. I was pleasantly surprised. It was very spacious and patio is nice. Only negative: its really hot.

What can else can I say... It's new! Nice decor, great bar, good looking crowd and bartenders...

Really bad service, not a surprise when the waiters doesn't have to work hard for their tip

Too crowded for dancing, overpriced drinks, but great for anyone who is aspiring to go deaf.

Very nice looking and that's where it ends horrible service no one speaks English .. The staff including the manager was extremely rude would not recommend

I visited Baru in a saturday night date. The place is nice but menu is really limited. Not too much to choose. Music was really boring. We stayed for less than 1 hour then went to another place.
