My husband and I just moved into the area (Air Force). We were hesitant to head to Destin because of the all the tourists right now but we had some friends that wanted to check it out. I am glad we decided to pass on the many touristy restaurants that litter the harbor. This little food truck is no joke! I wish I could eat here everyday. The menu is small, but it's a food truck so that's to be expected. I personally had the fish sandwich and the fish of the day was mahi mahi. (They also had Amberjack as a fish of the day option). You can either have it with an Old Bay mayo or a house made tartar. I had the Old Bay, hubby had the tartar. Both were phenomenal! They also have shrimp and fish tacos which were the best I've ever had! Flavors are perfect! And if you don't like seafood they do have regular sandwiches like grilled cheese and turkey. After you order you have a seat at some tables that are right on the dock and they bring the food over to you. Beside the fantastic food the owner and staff were great! Such nice people. She offers a military and locals discount. And she really was a very nice person. Fantastic fresh food! Great owner! Perfect location and view. This place gets a double thumbs up from this girl and I cannot wait to go back! Yum!!

In the hustle and bustle in touristy Destin, FL, there are a few places untouched by the non-local populace. One of those is the food truck right on 302E Harbor Blvd just right past Harbordocks, Boathouse, and The Red Door. (AKA, The Quiet Side of Harborwalk Village) What I like about this place is that the owners are humble and want to serve good ol' food right out of their food truck for drunken passer-bys to help them avoid the probable hangover the next day. Nothing more and nothing less. They are opened from 12 pm until whenever the drunkards pass out. The fish tacos are fresh with a nice dollop of homemade coleslaw on top and served with a fresh batch of fried tortilla chips and mild or mango habernero (which could be more spicy, in my opinion) salsa. It's reminiscent of something that you would make at home and does have a nice personable touch to it. The feeling is comforting and not touristy at all. Aside from this is that you get prime waterfront seating. They have tables right on the dock and so any seat that you can get feels like you are a fisherman...or a drunkard right on the pier. I haven't seen an official website, but they do have a Facebook page: facebook.com/TheLoggerhe…

Awesome little food truck! Loggerhead is one of the last establishments on the harbor after you pass Dockside and Red Door. It's a little kitchen built into an Airstream trailer and they have a bunch of picnic tables on a dock extending into the harbor just like Dewey Destin's on the bay. I ordered a piping hot grilled ham & cheese with a Beach Blonde Ale from the local 30A brewery. Try the fresh tortilla chips with their mango salsa. Service was awesome, if you're not a local they'll make you feel like one. The ambiance was the greatest thing about this place, they had Dave Matthews and some classic rock playing over the speakers and you can just chill on the dock watching the boats come in. No one will rush you especially late at night when everyone else has stopped serving food.

Great crab cake sandwiches - huge chunks of fresh crab! And get the tortilla chips with pineapple/habañero salsa- so good! Friendly staff. Owner/cook is from Maryland, so those crab cakes are fantastic. And, bonus, it's not touristy!

Great place on the dock. Homemade food served fresh. Great fish tacos and pineapple salsa! Boars head meats and cheese served as well. Great find off the beaten path of the tourist traps.
