It's weird that I've never actually been to one in Texas, but this Florida based one did not disappoint! My waiter was great! His name was Carmelo & he was awesome. He made some suggestions, very polite, & made sure we were always good. We gladly gave him a $25 tip. Anyways, they have free bread beforehand as an appetizer and that was good, unique kind of break, but nice and hot. I ordered a medium-rare Rib-Eye Steak (11 oz) and it was great. It may have been slightly over seasoned, but I'm not complaining! Also a little over priced for me, but I understand why. My father and brother got the same exact thing and both loved it. The steak was so easy to eat and very little fat on it which I actually liked. Our side was fries which were decent, nothing special, maybe a little too salty. My dad got a baked potato and his only issue was it was smaller than we're accustomed to. It was good though. As for my other siblings they all got kids meals of chicken tenders and fries and ate it all up! I'm guessing that means it was good because my baby brother is very picky. My sister also ate up her cheeseburger. My mom ordered grilled shrimp with baked potato and rice pilaf. Her exact quote, "It was delicious (in Spanish)". She didn't mind paying the $13 at all and she's now a fan of Raspberry Tea as well. -Side Note- my dad says beer was nice and cold (claims some restaurant bring out hot beer sometimes). I wouldn't know about that. Overall, a great meal and dining experience because of great food, perfect waiter, and reasonable wait times for the food and prices. Oh and the host was great as well, but I didn't catch his name.

As usual with Longhorn, the seating process sucks! We drive up and park in a handicapped space and there is no place to sit when we get inside. Told to take a beeper and there is a 25 minute wait. Ask if we can sit at the empty booths in the bar and we're told no, the seats are part of the wait rotation. The booths were never seated, and when we were finally taken to a booth in the main seating area, there were 12 open booths and tables. The person seating us says they only let servers have 3 tables. It's Saturday night and people are waiting. Is this an indication that you didn't schedule enough servers - ignoring customer service and the waiting clients?

This place it's amazing plus the service and are good server mike he's very attended and very friendly
Great service and food! Came on a Friday night, it seemed packed but we got to our booth in less than 5 minutes. Great server as well. Had the flat iron steak and it was a great lean cut with added herbs and spices to make it very delicious. Perfect medium rare center as well. Sweet potato was great too. Didn't put too much sugar/junk on it like other restaurants I know. Husband had ranchers burger and liked it! To finish we got the apple pie dessert item. Very large could have split it with other guests as well but delicious! Would come again if I lived in the area.

I read the reviews, so thought I would check it out. I always see lines when I drive past. Others said it was better than TX Roadhouse, Outback, so figured why not. Well, let me tell you the TX Roadhouse and Outback are MUCH better than this place. Filet Tenderloin tasted like a really bad sirloin steak, not sure if it really was tenderloin. Decor needs a lift, dated and old. Spend your $$$ elsewhere.

The food at Longhorn is always amazing. We stopped in after being on the water so we opted to eat outside. It was quiet, relaxing and our server Ralph did a great job. While he moved at his own pace (friendly and like the aged beef he serves up), he was quick to answer tough questions about food options and about his favorite video game system (question from my kids). My boys love the Sirloin steak there. My wife and I usually opt for rib-eye or Parmesan Crusted Chicken. Mmmm.

Yet another night of being neglected by wait staff at longhorn. My teen loves food here so we came back again. Waitress on phone behind bar for large parts of the nite. Appetizer order never made it in. Drinks horribly slow arriving. Waitress cant be found. Typical destin longhorn service. Stupid us for returning.

After a wait we had a great meal and the server was great. They only got a 4 star review because they ran out of their specials and that's what I really wanted.

Best service!!!! Even if your in destin for vacation and have eaten a at a longhorn steakhouse house before. You have to go here if its just for there exceptional service. The wonderful steaks are a plus! We came in 4 minutes til 10pm. They welcomed us in and and sat us like it was nothing. Our waiter was by far the best waiter either of us had ever had! He went above and beyond! Even though I knew he was ready to get off. The food was amazing!!! We even told his manager how wonderful he was. I hate i forgot your name. This longhorn in destin is the best!!! Gets a 10 from me.

I am a local and eat at this longhorn regularly. The steaks are good - no complaints there. They also do an asparagus starter that is very good. There always is a 20 or 30 minute wait regardless of what time of day or season you go. They shutdown tables and servers to minimize their costs but inconvenience the customer. The service is most usually bad although occasionally it is better. Food and drinks are very expensive for what they are.

Good food, great service, slow kitchen. I've heard Longhorn was good but there are none around home. Short wait and them seated. Our server was Carmelo and he was very attentive to our needs. The bread was delicious. I had the flat iron steak and it was awesome!! My only complaint was it the about 30 minute wait after we ordered to get our food. It wasnt real busy so I don't know why it took so long. Good experience, wish they'd open one closer to home.

Great dinner, only downside was that I ate too much! Waiter was wonderful, kind, entertaining. The food was fantastic. We got the fried onion for and appetizer, they were extremely good. I got the ribs which simplest fell off the bone, my father got a delicious beef sandwich, and everything we had was just amazing. Would definitely go again.

I know that there are Longhorn Steakhouses around where I live in DFW, TX; however, my first visit to the restaurant was while I was on vacation summer of 2011. I was VERY impressed with this place. All entrees that we tried were amazing. Not only are the steaks to die for the seafood was also mouth watering! The service was great and everyone wanted to make our visit a good one. The menu items are pricey, but it's a steakhouse :)

This was an incredible dining experience. After a week of mediocre seafood, it was time for some beef. Being from Texas, I was skeptical about "Longhorn" anything but this place did its name proud. My wife had the Bleu Sky Filet and it was like cutting through warm butter, no knife needed. The Outlaw Ribeye was my choice and it was delectable! My father ordered the Prime Rib but we discovered they were out of it at 7:30pm on a Thursday. He ended up getting ribs and was not disappointed. The prices were incredible for a tourist haven and the food was better than Outback or Texas Roadhouse, and just a slight step below a Del Frisco's or a Capital Grille.

I absolutely love coming to this restaurant. The food is above average! I get the same thing everytime (Renegade Sirloin w/ Parmesan Crusted and their mac and cheese) and can never get enough! The service is excellent. The manager is also excellent, and he values your input. In the hundreds of times that we have visited we have only had one problem that wasn't even a big deal. However, he immediately got to the table, apologized and resolved the issue. One of the best steakhouses I have ever visited. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED if you are in the Destin area.

First of all, we had outstanding service! Our server was the best we've had in years. The food was fantastic. Two people ordered the Swiss steak and the helping is huge. I told the server that I loved cinnamon and butter on the sweet potato side and he made sure they added a 2nd small cup of it for me. My mother-in-law told him that she wasn't sure if she liked the cheese that came with the fried green tomatoes or the sauce that came with it. He had them put them both on the side for her. Glasses were refilled well before needed and used dishes/glasses promptly removed. By far, this is the best dinner experience we've had during our vacation here in Destin. We highly recommend them.

Great dining in, but got some 4 cheese pasta to go and it was missing the tomatoes (like the best part). Try the pretzel sticks though. Great bacon honey mustard.

Empty restaurant, the wait was 20 mins for 2 people. Host got us drinks, and our waiter never came to greet us or even know we were sitting in her section. 30 mins later, I finally asked a waitress walking by if she knew who had our table or if anyone would serve us. Turned out our table belonged to her. And no one told her. Got the steak, and it was rubbery.

Long horn steak house in Texas isn't that great but our food tonight was pretty good, my favorite had to be the mashed potatoes. We ordered the porter house for two it came with 2 sides and we added the shrimp and crab rice (I believe that's the name) my husband loved it. Our waitress Penny was amazing very friendly and very attentive! Overall our experience here was great!

It's been about a week since I've been back from Destin and I'm finally ready to talk about Longhorn Steakhouse. It's a steakhouse, it's a chain, they serve steaks, and the whole restaurant is what Ace Ventura calls, "A lovely room of death." To animal lovers and vegetarians (whom I realize may or may not love animals, but generally speaking, do), the sheer quantity and dominance of severed and preserved cattle heads on the walls here is pretty disturbing. I just ignore it, but it's not my favorite type of "decor". Our party of 10 this time was seated promptly, most likely due to the fact that it was past 9pm already and ignored for the better part of 30 minutes. Someone finally came out and got our drink orders, brought the drinks, then we spent another 15 minutes sitting there before anyone took our order. Flat out, the service was more or less, sucky. I felt for some reason, we were hated by Longhorn, but oh well, we were entertaining ourselves a little too well. The iced tea was really good; I find this to be anomalous at most chains unless it's filled with flavored syrup and the food is more than satisfactory. I had a side salad and a sweet potato and ate off of my hubby's burger, which was moist and tasty. Then, I wondered if it came from one of the ancestors of the steers hanging on the wall staring at me with the glazed over eyes. Disturbing. Longhorn is a solid place for some decent eats, but you're in Destin for crying out loud. What are you doing at Longhorn?! You may be asking me that same question. Well, if you must know, I was out-voted. Go some place local, like La Paz or try McGuire's, both non-cookie cutter type places and a nice stop during your vacation. Besides, you can get Longhorn at home anytime you want it.

This was the first and only time I've been to a Longhorn Steakhouse. 5 Stars for great food in this price range. It's like eating at Ruth Chris on the cheap! The steaks were cheap, yet they were excellent! It's been a few years since I've been here, but I tried the filet, and I was blown away by the quality! It was on par with some ~$35+ steaks I might get around OC. I remember the dessert, the brownie sundae was high quality as well! We paid under $20 for the steak (in 2005) The steak was very tender, juicy, and prime beef quality. It was well seasoned as well. The steaks were better than Outback, Black Angus, Lonestar Steakhouse, TGI Fridays, Chilis, Applebees, Cheesecake Factory, and many other chains that I've been to. I hope they open some locations out west, because of all the place I went to on a road trip to Miami.. This was one of my favorite. I also hope they keep the same quality over the years.

Had an early dinner here. We do not yet have these joints in my part of Texas but we see their commercials on TV. I don't know why, but I was expecting something like the old Sizzler steakhouse or something like the old Golden Corral (before it became a trough for people who make me look skinny). I WAS WRONG. This place rates closer to an Outback or Texas Roadhouse, yet the decor is a bit more sophisticated. And yeah, there are steer heads on the wall (as one earlier poster commented with some disgust) so if that kind of thing offends you, you might first want to look at the name of the place and make note of the word STEAKHOUSE. Then you might want to stop pretending that killing animals is terrible before you order just a salad and then scarf half of your poor hubby's meal. Anyway, we all enjoyed our steaks and the service was a 10 out of 10. We had one problem with my entre, they were quick to correct it and were on top of the matter the entire night. I know I am in Destin on vacation and a chain steak joint may not have been the most trendy place to go, but we left there happy, full and in a reasonable amount of time. Definately felt we got the value out of this meal.

I was very reluctant to go to a chain steakhouse while visiting what is essentially a modern fishing village on the beach. My expectations were pretty low and I was prepared for disappointment. That said, I and my party of seven had a good, quality meal. I was too good to order the fried onion wedge appetizer or the freshly made potato chips; luckily my companions did. The sauce they serve with them must be made of crack cocaine it was so good. I followed Yelper Valerie S.'s suggestion and had the Parmesan chicken entree and was not disappointed. The side salad was forgettable and the cole slaw was better than OK, but neither of these things detracted from the dining experience. I also has a very nice Cab Sauv...or two (one of three that they serve by the glass - it was the middle priced one and was recommended by my server - good call). And the bread that came in the basket was delicious. As was the butter. Service was attentive. A pleasant surprise and a solid choice. You could do a lot worse.

Oh LongHorn how i really wanted to just fall in love with you. I picked this restaurant for a first date, because I like steak and my date didn't have a preference since he is from France and is all about trying different American foods and restaurants. I liked the outdoor covered patio area, but unfortunately they do not serve food out there. It was a nice little place to sit while waiting for your table, quiet and cool after a nice day of rain. The walls of the restaurant are lined with booths while the middle section has tables. The lights are dim, but not Kirby's or Ruth Chris dim. There was carpet on the floor, big difference from a steak house in Texas where you can throw peanut shells on the floor lol. The waitress said they were not based out of Texas (I believe she said Atlanta), but a lot of people thought they were because of the decor and rustic charm...I didn't see it. We started off with the kettle fried chips with some kind of tangy dipping sauce, which was a new item. I think they should have been served hot, especially since they are cooked on site. My date thought they were a little bit too salty, but I didn't think so (probably because I am used to kettle chips with some flavor). I didn't understand the point of the dipping sauce. After about an hour of talking and a very absent waitress we ordered dinner. I wanted prime rib so bad, so you can only imagine my dissapointment when I was informed that they were out (its freaking 8o'clock and yall are out of food, geesh). So we both order some special rib eye (not the regular one at the bottom of the steak section). Then my salad was full of cucumbers, tomato. and other things that I don't eat, but lacked lettuce? Can we even call that a house salad? The loaded mashed potatoes were good but only room temperature. The steak is what is saving this review from a 2 star rating. Heavenly. It was big it was juicy. I took home more than half of my steak. I ordered the fried cheesecake to go and was not pleased by the crust used on the cubed pieces of cheese cake. The ice cream was good but hey it was vanilla with sauces drizzled on top. Would I go back, yes to try the prime rib. Will this be one of my regular spots, no! The search for good steak in Florida is still on!

I've been to Longhorn before, but I decided to introduce my fiancé to it and we both fell in love (second time around for me!). We started off with the Wild West Fries (I believe that's the name?) because we got a free appetizer for joining their newsletter. BEST CHILI CHEESE FRIES IVE EVER HAD. There's cheese, chili, bacon, and possibly even a nacho-like cheese on top? (we opted out of getting jalapeños). The portion is gigantic but thankfully so because you'll want to eat them all. For dinner, I got the flat iron steak with a sweet potato and he got a New York Strip with a baked potato and green beans. Both steaks were wonderful! The sweet potato (as well as his potato) was huge- and cooked perfectly. Everything was so, SO good. In addition, the atmosphere is nice for a date night. The staff was also super friendly. We loved it here, so much.

Great Steaks and friendly staff. Must stop place if you are visiting Destin, FL. The Outlaw Ribeye was to die for and the Salmon is out of this world.
