Needless to say I will not be returning to Johnny rockets... Ever. Which sucks because I really enjoy their food, at least I did. Thanks to the seven "gentlemen" that were standing around on their cell phones talking to each other it took five minutes before I had to ask for a menu. Mind you im sitting right in front of them on a bar stool. When I wanted to order they were all too busy talking to either to take my order, when he finally took my order her didn't ask me what he could get me or what I would like. No, instead he just looked at me like I was wasting his precious time getting paid to talk. Now I would have forgiven the shitty service had my burger not come completely apart and not even in my box! No the meat and cheese lettuce and bun were in my to go bag. So, sorry Johnny rockets but next time you can find me at Tops.

Stopped by for a quick dinner and had the cheddar bacon melt burger. It was cooked perfectly. Very juicy and put together well. The presentation when it was served was on spot. My server was confident and had a very relaxed attitude that I thought was perfect for the restaurant. He checked up on me at the right time such as after my food was served and I had a chance to taste it, again when he saw my fries were almost gone, and lastly to give me the final bill. I only had to negatives that I can forgive because my server was so good at his job. My first negative, I was given the option of four different booths to sit at. It turned out all four booths had not been cleaned since the previous occupants. I had to tell them to clean off a table for me to sit at. My second negative is really just a whine on my part. When I paid the bill it was a young guy who was anywhere from 18-20yrs old who took my payment. He wasn't speaking very loud and I had to ask him to repeat himself twice. He appeared not to have confidence in his job. This is an easy fix.. Speak up!! Overall it was a good experience. I would repeat and recommend!

Started off by seating my son and I at the back corner with plenty of more desirable seating up front and at the window. Had to ask for another table. Got a free burger coupon via email for this specific location. As expected, was given hassle over it by the manager upon attempting to redeem. Had to firmly stand my ground to force them to honor it. Food was fast. Burger was ok, but not special. Waitress was nice and attentive. Had to fight the coupon battle yet again at checkout.

Dirty floors, smells bad and the men's restroom is absolutely filthy. Sorry it's true.

Root beer float was good. Fries are pretty decent too. I'll change my rating when I try more foods.

First time at Johnny Rockets and I was on vacation. Love the fries (unlimited!) My burger was good. Malts are nice and cooling on a super hot day.
(4)Alan C.
This is a traditional 50's diner. Their malts were fantastic on a hot day. Their onion rings were also really good. This place was much better than an A&W or places like that. The staff at this location were friendly and the order came out very quickly. Its a little more than fast food with the ambiance and higher quality you get from a sit down restaurant. This particular location is in the mall so it was a nice respite away from the craziness of shopping with two ladies and a toddler.

I drive 20 mins to get to this location of JR's and the Asian girl says will you be dining in? I said no just getting shakes and she said sorry we are closed. I said we have 30 minutes left?? She said we have been slow so we closed early. I counted 17 people still in the restaurant. We leave and she goes and whispers to the guy at the cashier and they laugh and he shrugs his shoulders. I have always been a loyal customer but will never recommend or be back to this location again. Btw Destin commons was slammed still so they were definitely not slow.

The food was great! I've never had a milkshake malt quite like this one. I love when they not only give you what fits in the drinking cup, but they also give you another cup with your remaining shake! The burger was juicy, full of flavor, and the milkshake also came with a water on the side In case. The service was awesome; not to mention that when we ordered they had to go "OLD FASHION" restaurant because their system had a software error, so they quickly moved back to paper orders and check-out. Thanks Justin!

Stopped in with my wife and daughter after some shopping. Service was good but not excellent. Food was as could be expected of a diner. Prices were a little high but it's a tourist town so that's typical. Spent about $40 after tip for the 3 of us for just basic meals.
(4)Elise W.
I'm traveling in the states since a few weeks, this dining is one of the best I went! The burger was really good, and the fries perfect. Sweet potatoes fries was awwwwesome! It was real sweet potatoes fries, guess they were home made!
(4)Melissa T.
When I'm craving an All-American grilled cheese this is where I go. It's tasty and I really like the fries too. I'm personally glad they don't salt the fries, there is a shaker for you to salt them to your taste. Also, you get unlimited fries if you so desire! The place is loud, but that's part of it. The concept here is basic diner and they nail it. I personally sit at the bar where you can see all the "behind the scenes" action. The cooks and waitstaff are very efficient, and the entire line area is clean. I also watched the manager (I believe) cashing folks out, he appeared to really enjoy his job and smiled even when the patrons weren't. He was genuinely happy you were there. All in all a great place for a quick diner experience meal, and the kids love it.

Johnny Rocket's is located in the shopping mall area in Destin right outside of the Rave Movie Theater. We decided on this little joint after taking the kiddos to see a movie. I have eaten at Johnny Rockets before at other locations so knew not to expect too much as far as the quality of food. I wouldn't choose this place if you are wanting a gourmet burger and fries. This is your basic meat patty and fixings on a bun. The fries were bland and unsalted. The shakes were probably the best part but are not the best ever. The service was great. We had an older lady for our server and she drew them smiley faces with ketchup in a dipping tray (which everyone gets but made the kids smile) and made sure to let us know we were welcome to bottomless fries (which of course we passed on). The diner had a greasy film over everything and didn't appear to be the cleanest. The air vent next to our table was dripping condensation on the floor. They apologized but it is kind of gross. Good for a quick meal out of the hot sun but not a place I will return to next time we vacation in Destin. Oh ... there is a little customer service kiosk next to the diner. Go there and ask them for a coupon and they will give you $5 off your purchase of $25 at Johnny Rockets. SCORE!!
(2)Jim S.
Service was great, can't make a trip here without coming here. Love this Johnny Rockets!!
(5)Cheryl F.
Incredibly nasty decor. Nothing cleaned. One of the filthiest restaurants I have ever witnessed. Over priced food for the type of food and decor. Nothing will ever get my family in the door again. The bathrooms were like going to a third world country. Toilets had urine dried all over them and trash was full. This was at opening. You can tell no one cares about the facility. They need to just shut the doors. Why does the Destin Commons allow someone to rent the store from them without at least having some standards? Terrible!!! The photos on this page are NOT from this restaurant!! Do not be fooled!!
(1)Lauren H.
Walked in to tons of employees standing around. Seated right away and then ignored. Two tables came, sat down and were helped before our waiter even came for the drink order. Obviously they got food and then refills at least 10 Minutes before our food even came. Food wasn't horrible but quite overpriced. Service ruined it before we even ate.
(2)Cortney M.
I'm not sure why this place has such horrible reviews. I had an awesome experience and the Houston burger was delicious!
(5)Lydia G.
This place was fabulous! We ended up arriving just before they closed, but they were more than gracious about it. Our server was attentive, the food was perfect, and the manager even took music requests from us since the table jukeboxes didn't work. We couldn't have had a better experience here!
(4)Justin M.
My family and I had gone to Navarre on vacation this week. We're about twenty-five miles, give or take a mile or two, from Destin. We were at the mall this is located at and ultimately decided to eat here. Truthfully, I'm a bit surprised at the low rating this place has. It's certainly not particularly a bad restaurant but my only gripe about it the one time we ate there is that it's a somewhat small restaurant and it felt kind of crowded (but not as bad as another restaurant we nearly ate at once while in Navarre). It's not really that it's a small confined area but something about the way the building is designed makes it feel crowded. I ordered a grilled chicken sandwich, of which I forget the official name of now. But I liked my food a lot as I assume the rest of my family did as no one complained.
(4)John Z.
Poor service and mediocre (at best) food. Hamburgers were barely passable, but I've had a better burger at BK. My son's grilled cheese was a few slices of processed cheese on white toast... hadn't even melted. We got another (eventually) that was slightly more melted. My son's (14y/o) verdict... "I make a much better grilled cheese than that!" Don't waste your money here.
(2)Angi R.
Jon's right - the food here is not terrible. However, the service is. The place is dirty, we never got napkins or silver ware. Everyone goes here for the shakes but, honestly, I think the ones at Hardee's are a little better. My burger was okay albeit a bit over priced. Also, skip the cheese fries since all they do is melt a couple slices of greasy cheddar on top. I am sooo not going here again.
(1)J L.
Dirty, dirty, dirty. Bathrooms were unclean, tables were greasy, and our waiter forgot to bring us the most basic item for fries: ketchup. Yup, we had to request for ketchup. Waiter must have forgot to return with it after we asked. We ended up stealing a bottle from a counter. 5¢ jukeboxes on the tables are broken so don't put your money in there. Oh, and did I mention the joint is dirty? P.S. We did actually receive about 0.1 oz of ketchup in the form of a happy face (as seen in the pic). Cute, but inefficient. They could have at least made the happy face thick as **** so I wouldn't have to beg for ketchup for the pile of fries that would never come.
(1)Christopher W.
Unfriendly service and OK food. Many other better places in Destin to go to.
(2)Jonathon S.
The food here is not terrible (although there was a piece of something small, slimy, black, and unrecognizable in my malt the last time I went), but the place is never clean. Expect to wipe your own table and booth. Johnny Rockets is located right outside of RAVE Motion Pictures and is usually pretty crowded. There are better places to eat in Destin Commons, so do yourself a favor and try one of them out instead.
