Came here after looking at some reviews and pictures, but was rather disappointed. Sushi selection consists mostly of rolls with fake crab and no sashimi whatsoever. Hot food selection also limited, but your average Chinese food fare. Did not try the grill, but they had a prime rib station on the weekend dinner which was perhaps the highlight of even paying the full dinner price ($16/person). Even so, the prime rib wasn't kept warm...a little disturbing. Crab legs were fine, and thankfully fresh. however, they were very slow with refilling them as well as the oysters, even though there was a good crowd the night we went. Overall, the food and service were unspectacular and definitely not worth the price. You can find better Asian buffets elsewhere, but maybe this is all that's available in this small touristy area.

Total snakes. They swoop in with 5 people and serve drinks before they surprise you with the $15 buffet. And there's no other choice except the buffet unless you complain. Totally weird vibe on the front end. We walked out because they put off the totally shady vibe.

Destin! Sorry for the typo A decent variety of sushi, nothing unusual. Typical buffet, good food. My kids love it and they can get their fill.

Great food. Sushi isn't the MOST fresh, but you can't have fresh sushi sitting out and a buffet too.

12/6 6 pm a Friday evening. This place is NASTY 15.99 are you out of your mind. Not one item was fresh, it was leftovers from lunch. The prime rib was cold and dripping blood. The sushi was dried out, everything else was cold and dried out. there were 4 adults in our party and not one of us could eat here. I wish we would have walked the buffet before we sat down, we would have walked out. Not only that but the place is FILTHY... the ledges had about a yr's dust on it. Floors nasty/ booths nasty.. Plenty of staff so why wasn't the bathroom clean. What a bummer when you spend that kind of money to come home and eat ice cream and a pc of cake for dinner. PLEASE do not waste your $$$$$ PS the crab legs smelled so bad I about gagged... one bite NO WAY IN H*** would I have eaten them.

Great sushi for a reasonable price. I was impressed by the freshness and amount of fish used to make each roll. I'm a sushi fanatic- and this was great.

  • Jd G.

It is a good little buffet. Went for lunch and it was less than $10. There was a wide variety of Chinese food and a lot of rolls. There wasn't a lot of sashimi but the roll selection was good. Everything tasted good. I would definitely go back if I was given the opportunity.

  • Chris S.

Overall, good food. But really it's the all-you-can-eat snow crab and the sushi bar that makes this place a 4-star eatery. Great service as well. And cute fishies out front.

We went here last night for dinner. It wA Fantastic!!!! Only $15... Full sushi bar, hibachi bar, asian hot entrees (sesame chicken, broccoli beef, etc...), seafood bar (crab legs, oysters, etc), fruit bar, and dessert bar!!! Everything was fresh made (they make smaller batches and replace often so stuff doesn't sit around)... And the service was great! My only complaint seems silly... The floors were so slippery I almost bit it three times!!!

Ate here with family this past Sunday. The food was ok. I LOVE sushi and it just didn't do it for me. The nori was not freshly toasted. That always gets a 5 star from me if the sushi is wrapped in toasted nori and the seafood is cold on the inside. The hibachi grill was good with lots of choices. The shrimp and crab selections were low. The desserts were the typical selections. Wish there was a larger selection of authentic dishes and not the covered in sauce American style food on buffets. Over all was what you get when you eat at a buffet. Wish the prices were lower, I would probably visit if the prices were not $16.00 a person + drink.

In short and sweet fashion. Loved this buffet! All you can eat sushi, crab legs, chinese food and hibachi. It was all fantastic! Its a little pricey but the quality of the food was worth it.

  • Muchsinin V.

$16 for sushi and seafood buffet is worth the visit. Hibachi grill is a good additional value included with the buffet

So nasty . There have sooooo many roaches there and the manager was telling me how there's always roaches around that they can't prevent! Like seriously? You can't prevent the roaches why you open a restaurant? And the service was really bad, they stick the straw under their armpit and they come look around and don't wanna take out plates..... I will never ever go eat there again, never in my life!

Ate here a while ago when I was in town for my sister's wedding. Almost missed the wedding because this dump gave me the worst case of food poisoning I have ever had. I was literally bed-bound for three days after this meal. AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE.

This place deserve at least 3 stars for having all you can eat seafood for $15. Some are a big miss, like the oysters.. If it doesn't look fresh, don't eat it. The sushi is probably a 3.5 stars. They're alright, a little bit too much of rice for my taste, but you can cut the a rice portion off and eat it and it tastes better. The rice is well seasoned and is actually decent. The crabs legs were tasty and really good when I went there today. It's not dry or salty, pretty much perfect I'd say. For the crab legs alone, it's worth more than $15. I would definitely go again next time I'm in destin. Hibachi is good too. Didn't care for the clams, or oysters here though

I usually don't write review but with this particular restaurant...I have to. We came in with 2 little boys (20 months, and 4 years old) and the guy at the front desk told us that they couldn't find us a table for high chair so we have to wait. I think he was the manager there. At first we believed him, then 5 people walked in and got seated right away. He continued to tell us to wait at the corner waiting area as we watched him seated a party of 4 people before us. How could they not find a table that is enough room for a high chair and he just seated a bunch of people before us?! Then a big party of people walked in (about 10 people) and of course they got seat right away. I knew then that we were not welcome there and they just gave us that excuse to make us wait long and that we will leave their restaurant on our own. We were very furious and we let the manager that we're leaving and all he did was giving us an insincerely sorry. I don't know how good the food is at this buffet but so far the service is terrible and if you have small children then forget about this place!

  • Gerald T.

I don't know who gave this place such great reviews.. This place kind of sucks. Sushi bar is so small and mostly rolls with fake crab. No one watches it so if you eat some thing they don't replace it. I have seen more sushi at chinese buffets. What they did have tasted ok but these are the kind of rolls you can get for 3-4 bucks anywhere. If I read jenny t review before I decided to go here I never would of. I'm also form new orleans we have a great buffet that is cheaper. In baton rouge we have one that will make this place look like a joke.

Sushi was excellent with a lot of variety. Sat afternoon (~1:45) there wasn't much seafood. Salmon was tasty, but only a few pieces left over. Stuffed shrimp-unusual, excellent tasting, but was luke warm. Interesting variety of desserts (looked good, but typical Chinese baked desserts were not very tasty). Nice variety of fruit (fresh and canned) An excellent value for $9/person for lunch on Saturday.

  • Samuel F.

It's a buffet that has respectable sushi. It's a bit pricey for buffet but when you consider the $15 price tag, and the fact that I typically eat about $40 worth of sushi (based on Publix prices) it's a bargain. The food is a solid GOOD. I usually just go for sushi and the hibachi. The same guy is there every time I've eaten and he does an awesome job. It's not PREMIUM sushi but then again it's not a premium price. Factoring all this in, I will continue to go back.

    (4)
  • Michelle C.

Nice buffet. Plenty of options. A couple good sushi selections. Most buffets I go to, I try several items and end up liking one maybe two that I go back for. This buffet had multiple items that were good. They consistently brought out hot crab legs, which is good. The dessert was eh. It was $15.99 - eh, a tad high for what they put out but it was pretty decent. I would say 2 stars - I've had better but this chinese buffet is actually better than the last few I've gone to, so - 3 stars it is. Would I go back? Sure.

    (3)
  • Liz T.

Poor variety of sushi. If you are sushi lovers think twice before you sit down. We went on a Saturday night and it was very dissapointing to see the "so-called" sushi and seafood buffet.

    (1)
  • Laura C.

The crab legs were good....when the brought them out..which was not very often, the sushi was good if you like california rolls in 10 different combinations. 18.99 was too expensive for the quality. PROBABLY won't be going back.

    (2)
  • David C.

YUCK! I would NOT go back if you told me it was 2.99 a person! Nothing was good, it was all NASTY! With that said, those in our group of 17 who ate sushi said that the sushi was decent.

    (1)
  • Michael C.

The sushi felt/tasted like plastic. The cooked food has no flavor.

    (1)
  • Zaphod B.

A bit pricey for what I experienced. $17.99 on a Sunday I assume because of the king crab legs. The food was just so so; nothing to get excited about. Nice selection of items but bit spread out and hidden. Do some looking around before you decide what you want to eat. Most of the staff doesn't speak English very well and it was almost as if they were in a rush to get me out of there. My bill arrived after my second plate of food and the service seemed more concerned about my paying than making sure my drink was full. Lots of pacing back and forth of the staff made me feel like I wasn't trusted or something like that. It wasn't a pleasurable dining experience at all. My first time though and things could have been a fluke. I probably won't return.

  • Jeremy F.

For about 10 bucks for lunch you really can't complain as you most likely know what you're gonna get. The sushi was buffet sushi and nothing spectacular and the selection of other foods on the buffet were pretty scarce. I did however enjoy the hibachi grill they had there. That dude can work a grill.

  • Dr Bunsen H.

Our family used to go to Captain Kidd's on every trip to the area just to get crab legs. Since it is no longer in business we had to find another place to go. Fuji offers all you can eat of anything on their dinner buffet for $14.99 and even less for children. The crab legs were good and I enjoyed many other items on the buffet. I had always been leery of sushi, but I tried several of the selections on the sushi buffet and I enjoyed many of them. The buffet also offers a hibachi grill where you can have the chef prepare the specific items you request.

  • aristotle l.

Third time wasn't the charm...sushi was left out and rice was hardening...tempura based items were not crisp but soggy... I wasn't sure if it's the economy but the quality of the food got a little worse with each visit. My daughter came with me and she agreed with my findings as well. Our only mistake was not asking for a refund because $40 buys better "fast food" than what we experienced here. I hope the quality gets better--a manager needs to qc the food more often...

  • Danielle F.

The vegan options here are few and far between, which is sad considering Asian-influenced restaurants often have many vegan selections. I was able to eat some bad fried rice, fried spring rolls (I'll never understand the concept of fried spring rolls), fruit (?), some equally bad chow mein, and that is all. They had lots of sushi, but none of it was for vegetarians/vegans (an avocado or cucumber roll), which is typically commonplace. This place is exceptionally overpriced, and I would not recommend people go here (esp. veg/vegans).

    (1)
  • Amy H.

Great food at reasonable prices. The crab legs were fantastic. I really liked the price too, $14.99 per person!

    (5)
  • Mike K.

Wow. I can't believe people found anything positive about this restaurant. If you rate this food more than a one star, definitely you do not have any taste or do not know the difference between Susui and Roll. Owned by Chinese , no offense but do not expect any services, without any decent chinese dishes. Of course all the rolls are absolutely dried and harden. Horrible place to call it even a seafood restaurant. Do not go there. Not worth to spend more than $3.99. They charged $15.99 for Weekend dinner and all they had for extra were half dozes of oyster and 2 pieces of dried crab legs for entire restaurant.

  • Thuy T.

We were in the area for a family vacation. The first meal was at this place. I was actually impressed with the sushi variety they had here and it was well made sushi for being a buffet. They had raw oysters, crab legs, mussels, and other typical american-chinese dishes. Also they have a BBQ where you can pick the ingredients you want and they stir fry it for you. All in all, for 15 dollars for dinner, it wasnt bad at all. I'd say definitely give it a try. This place did full fill our seafood/ sushi needs for being the first night of vacay.

    (3)
  • Jay J.

Haha. I can't believe I said we would go back. We haven't been back and do not plan to. So many other, better restaurants. Don't waste your time here. Also, from the more recent reviews, it sounds like they've gotten even worse. Yuck!

    (2)
  • John Q.

I enjoyed myself here ice cream is 35¢ buffet is 9.39$ for lunch and 15.99 for dinner prices

    (5)
  • Amy T.

Food was pretty good...everything was pretty clean.... There's a pretty good sushi variety... Hibachi bar (you choose your ingredients and give to the chef so he could prepare it) was pretty nice.... But, the main reason I really wanted to go was for the snow crabs... What a disappointment. We stayed there over an hour and I think I saw the tray refilled just once. What a dud. I probably wouldn't go back. Well, maybe.

    (2)
  • Steve S.

Went looking for good sushi. Was recommended this place. Looked up here and saw some good reviews. Well here is the truth. Terrible food. All the meat dishes I tried had zero flavor. The sushi was either to dry or rice was moist and basically flavorless. The hibachi was tried also. No flavor even though asked for spicy hot. Service was ok. Deserts terrible.

I was in town at Pensacola and decide to drive into Destin to check out this sushi/seafood buffet. It definitely wasn't worth the drive. If your here for seafood, you will be disappointed. They don't bring a lot of crab legs out and when they do, it's gone within seconds. I really didn't see any other seafood there. They did have a decent amount of sushi rolls. The hibachi grille was pretty good. I had them cook some steak. They also had prime rib. It was a bit too rare. At $15.99 for dinner, it was a bit much. It seemed like your typical Chinese buffet with alittle bit more sushi.

    (3)
  • marko M.

Poor quality of chines food. The habatchi grill is joke. The shrimp does not look cooked at all. Anyway, first and last experience.

    (1)
  • Phillip B.

It's not too bad. Good food at a good price. Sushi is on point and so are all the buffet items.

    (4)
  • Dale B.

The buffet part of the offerings is very, very limited. About half of the offerings were related to the hibachi and sushi areas. Since 3 out of four people in our party did not get anything from the hibachi/sushi areas, their food choices were lacking. Soft drinks/tea glasses were promptly refilled. We are conditioned to see many more choices in a buffet.

    (2)
  • Andrew K.

Excellent sushi!!! The rest of the buffet was alright. I went for lunch and the fried rice wasn't very good. The chicken was a little chewy and dry. The crab Rangoon was not great. Egg rolls were excellent. I tried about every selection they had on the sushi buffet and they were all amazing!! If your in it for the sushi this is a great place to visit! Oh and the fortune cookies were not very edible.. Excellent price

  • Gretchen H.

We had an enjoyable lunch in this quiet, family oriented restaurant. The restaurant and restrooms are spotless and the service was excellent. Sushi was fresh and all items we tried were tasty. The hibachi was super clean with crunchy fresh veggies and the desserts were surprisingly good. Try the house apple pie and banana pudding! If you are in town with a bunch of really hungry teens this is the way to go to keep their bellies quiet for a few hours...hopefully.

  • Siu F.

Was there this past Christmas as we drove through town on our RV trip. The food was good & there are a variety of selections on their buffet. Love the crab legs as well as some of the sushi items. The hibachi grill is another great selection. The price is very reasonanle. Will definitely recommend to anyone looking for good food at reasonable price.

  • Nick S.

Biggest waste of 16$ a freaking piece ever! Glorified chinese buffet with crappy sushi at best. Just keep driving!

    (1)
  • Mariah D.

I had high hopes for this place. I thought I would get decent sushi and decent hibachi at a great price. The food was decent on all counts, but it was hit or miss. I didn't taste anything that was a WOW bite, but we did have a few terribly unfresh items. Namely, the oysters and some of the sushi. The hibachi was actually not bad, but the cook was a bit of a curmudgeon. Unsurprisingly, most of the sushi was covered in eel sauce or spicy mayo and the rice was dried out. But I got a few freshly rolled pieces that weren't bad. Overall, visiting here reminded me of why I don't frequent buffets. This was pretty much a Chinese buffet with a touch of faux-Japan.

    (3)
  • Bristan K.

Food was mediocre. The hibachi chicken was the best thing they had. The Mongolian bar wasn't bad, and the sushi was decent.

    (3)
  • Jennifer K.

I'm giving them a 5 because first off my family consisted of 7 people and we came in about the time they were going to close and the owner told us we could stay longer if we wanted to! Also, they were to nice about making more sushi or bring out more food. Loved it. This experience was over the summer of July 2014. Never had the time, but finally made time to write this wonderful review. Most likely coming back whenever I'm on a vacation again.

  • Nicki K.

With a party of 20 hungry people, we opted for a buffet, but which one? Thanks to Yelp, we decided to go to Fuji Sushi & Seafood buffet. Hubby was happy that the snow crabs were on the buffet. We haven't seen that in the longest time, even in Atlanta. We didn't want to pay $30/person to go to another seafood buffet so $15 was good enough for us to eat. We got seated fairly quickly as they pulled tables and chairs for us. They were friendly and very accommodating. The selection wasn't huge compared to back in Atlanta but big enough for variety. The food was overall, just okay but I did like the fried shrimp a lot, I love that it was headless and skinless. I hate peeling them at buffets. The snow crab was the star of the night. I don't like eating it but everyone else enjoyed it. Overall, I think it was worth $15/person even though some people wish more snow crabs would come out after every 10 minutes like the sign said but there were quite a line of people waiting for it.

    (3)
  • Lisa Y.

Meh, knowing it was only $16 for dinner buffet that included snow crabs, it's hard to complain. Coming from GA, any sushi buffet that includes hibachi and snow crabs will range between $30-$40. So we went in not expecting quality, which made the experience a little better lol. The service was exceptional, and the food wasn't too bad. The snow crabs were a little dry, but we looked at price in comparison to all that we got. Overall, given the fact that Destin really doesn't offer all you can eat snow crabs, this might be as best as you can get.

    (3)
  • Saam G.

Service was good, but everything else was terrible. Can't fight yelp. This is no exception. This place will let you down no matter how low your expectations are

    (2)
  • Sam O.

Honestly, I was nervous about this place, especially since my father, an old school sushi chef - always warned me about sushi left sitting out in room temperature for a few minutes too long, but I was feeling pretty brave and I had the old man himself to guide me so I felt I could handle it. Sushi had indeed been sitting out but it wasn't bad as they had an incredible selection. They had a hibachi station with fresh shrimp, chicken, flank steak and decent oysters and snowcrab, mot to mention the chinese food was on par with First Choice in Niceville. Additionally you can't beat the price $16.

    (4)
  • Lin G.

Being in the business of eating my ass off, I try every buffet I can get my hands on. This one unfortunately, like a pinkie finger at a giant dildo contest, did not rock our world. Their Chinese food selection was poor, only a few uninspiring dishes. The sushi is inedible, unless you just love huge chucks of cold, low quality rice wrapped around a piece of cream cheese and cucumber. What tiny amount of fish you do get is so unappetizing that you almost don't want it at all. And their "unagi" -eel, is not sushi appropriate eel at all but dried out stale pieces of CANNED CHINESE FISH. Despicable? I have no words. The overall selection in general is just sad and at $20 a person, this is not even good value.

    (2)
  • Bridget A.

All the food was bland ...pricey for the quality of food served. We would not return! Very disappointed :(

    (1)
  • Charles H.

Nice customer service but seafood selection leaves a lot to be desired. Crab legs needed seasoning, deserts bar needs upgrade.

    (2)
  • Frank G.

You just can't complain about this place when you look at what you get against what you pay. It's just too simple. Fuji Simple has numerous buffet bars inside. A few have sushi, one has a hibachi station, some have seafood like crab legs, shrimp and raw oysters. There are also bars with salad, fruit, desserts and - *gasp* - CHINESE FOOD! The only thing missing is pizza and chicken tenders for your picky children and they have all of the bases covered, right?!? No, the sushi isn't going to win any awards, and it's mostly of the "greatest hits" variety, but it is very decent. Their chefs are back there rolling like crazy...I mean, they're making sushi, so it's usually very fresh. I recommend going during peak lunch and dinner hours, just as you would for any buffet. They also have lots of ginger, seaweed salad and wasabi so you can help yourself. This place is always spotless, as well, and their staff is very friendly. So if you think about it, you can eat all of the sushi, crab legs and oysters on the half shell that your body can possibly hold for less than $20, and it's good. How is this not a win?

    (4)
  • Misty M.

If you're in a hurry and need some food, it's not bad but it's not fab either. Sometimes when I'm in Destin, I get a little burned out by American food and when I do I go here. I'll get a couple of things and call it a day. The service is okay but your best bet is doing hibachi. It's also definitely not the best I've had but in Destin I haven't found a lot of Asian options.

    (3)
  • Jeff R.

Always out of Crab claws! They come every 10 minutes and they bring 12-15 2 leg clusters and they are wiped out in 30 seconds. Start the 10 min clock again. Too often out of popular dishes. They out wait the customers on those dishes to get then to eat other dishes whilst waiting. Bathrooms were well used and messy.

    (1)
  • Kalee R.

Went on a Sunday afternoon. The food was bland, only thing half way fresh was if you ate hibachi. There "seafood" bar consisted of old shrimp and two crab legs. Too nasty to eat. To make matters worse, we were charge 15.99 a person. Save your money, go elsewhere
