This place has the best burgers and fries for a quick meal. I love this place to death. Their soft served ice cream is the bomb

When you're hungry, you'll eat anything. This place wasn't terrible but it wasn't great. French fries were awesome but the hot dog was dry and overcooked. I was asked what I wanted on it and I said everything except ketchup and all I got relish and mustard, and we went over what I asked for twice. There are lots of hot dog joints asking for your business so I don't think I'd go to this place again, except for the great french fries.

Drove from Fort Lauderdale to get a "legendairy" milkshake and they decided to close early.... Great

This burger and hot dog joint is a long time fave for my extended family. This was my first here and it was great. It's not a fancy schmancy place so don't go in ur fine clothes. The weather was perfect so sitting outside and eating was fine for us. The hotdogs were devoured by my kids and my hubby and I finished up our burgers then you gottA top it off with soft serve! Their soft serve is ridiculously thick and delicious! We would definitely go back!

The burger was not cooked the drink machine is not Pepsi or Coca-Cola a burger and a drink is seven dollars cash only but he wants you to pay three bucks for his ATM fee....I took two bites and left to never come back-

Dirty dining area (I don't want to even think about the cooking area). Doc's needs a new owner to refresh it but keep some of the authenticity of a 60's joint. Run by teens. But my grandchildren do love the big, messy soft ice cream cones and napkins abound!

I came here after a lovely day in Delray. The weather was perfect as the sun was going down, and my two companions and I were hungry for some quick burgers and fries, but didn't want to settle for fast food. So, after having some tea at Shaffer's and a drink at Sundy House, this place was a sensible option, as it was right down the street. They weren't busy at 6:00pm, which was expected because that's pretty early for dinner, in my opinion. We placed our order with ease, the young man who took our order was friendly and helpful, and the food was ready in about 10 minutes or less. They also had Stella Artois. That's a plus in my book! The burgers tasted flame broiled, and the fries were crisp and perfectly salted. I asked if all burgers came well done or if I could request my preferred level of doneness next time. He said people could specify, but they're otherwise required to cook them until there's no pink showing. All in all, I can't speak for the other menu items, and the food I did have was good but not mind blowing. Hence the 3 star review. I would definitely come back another day after a few drinks and a walk on the beach.

We visited Doc's last night with the kids after viewing the Christmas tree and enjoying some of the attractions. We were greeted by a very solemn and dreary clerk who clearly did NOT want to be there or serve anyone. After I gave the order, I showed him my Visa debit and he reminded me that it was "cash-only". Well, we used up most of our cash at the attractions, tree donation, etc. . . so we were a few dollars short. This is a turn off for a business (I know. . . "it's a local tradition"), buy any place that exists in a very high commercial location, and who has now become a little more than a mom and pop establishment, should be accepting credit cards and debit. Sorry guys. . . "Cash only" is very suspect and it lead us to believe that this owner has some shady business practices. What cemented this notion was the conveniently private "ATM" just around the ordering counter where the owner can now make 3 dollars for every transaction, and then keep that same cash you took out, and not report some of it. Nice set up. . . no paper trail. We really want to like this place, but we lost our appetite, and went elsewhere.

Not sure why all the bad reviews because this place is not bad. It's your average burger joint that is a bit overpriced but good for a quick bite. Service was pleasant enough. Lost a star because they ran out of Stella.

For 20+ years I have driven by this place wanting to stop and try it and I finally did. One word sums it up "Awful". Burgers? Costco pre-made looking or some comparable version. Fries soft and mushy inside. Rings were fine. Put it this way I wanted to stop eating and so did my wife after two bites. So I just wonder how does a place that specializes in buying pre made frozen food Survive? Just doesn't make sense to me. I would rather eat at McDonalds and ingest their pink slime burgers that they tell us are healthy.

I had a patty melt and fries, both were delicious and reasonably priced. Definitely recommend for that and the atmosphere

This is an institution in Delray. It has been at this location FOREVER and they have the photos to prove it. This is a great burger, fries, shakes, hot dog place. The burgers are very greasy though. It is fun to grab a quick bite and sit outside. There is absolutely NOTHING healthy about this place though. If you are fat or calorie conscious this is not the place to go!

  • Sarah G.

Inexpensive and quick. A typical hamburger, hot dog, ice cream joint...in delray/boca hell yeah. I shared a banana split with a friend. Smart choice the scoops are big. Loved the oreo and mint chocolate chip ice cream. Th butter pecan was nothing special. The split had bananas, strawberries, nuts, hot fudge, whipped cream, and 3 cherries! $6.50 for hand scoops, not terrible. A fun spot.

I hardly ever rate anything with just one star. But for starters, this is annoyingly, a cash-only establishment. I hate to assume it's because they under-report their income for tax purposes. If that is the case, I can't expect they would be generous with their portions or buy the highest quality food. It seems that Doc's is all about the bottom line. It DEFINITELY is NOT what it used to be. We just got home and we are all still hungry........McDonald's would have been more satisfying. The best thing about Doc's is the music. They play some great Motown favorites. The second best thing was the outdoor, casual atmosphere with a slight breeze. The worst thing is what we came for: the food. This was the second time I've come in the past six months. The last time was equally unimpressive but we were driving by today and decided to give it another chance. I got a blackened mahi sandwich that was small and tasteless and I questioned if it was past its expiration. Another in our party got a gyro that was equally small, overpriced, and looked like the lamb was steamed (rather than roasted on a spit as it should be). We had gone to Duffy's last night and I got a delicious and generous portion of blackened mahi and it came with fresh asparagus, grilled zucchini, a nice atmosphere, friendly sit down service, TV sports entertainment, air conditioning - and they take credit cards. We paid double the price but got quadruple the food and even took home a doggie bag. I would highly recommend Duffy's dinners any day over Doc's overpriced, tasteless, and puny sandwiches. Last thoughts: If you want a delicious burger and a cheaper and better ice cream milk shake, go to Charm City in Deerfield. That place gets 5 stars on Yelp and is worth the drive. Decided we are definitely done with Doc's dis time.

Burgers were OK... But why argue if I wanna have my burger on a regular bun instead of the Texas Toast it "suppose" to come on..? Water Cups they give are 3oz. Is it really that expensive to give a normal size cup if somebody doesn't drink soda and wants plain water? And bring cash. This place does not accept debit cards at all.

  • Kevin B.

Showed up at 9pm, sign says they close at 10pm and they shut the lights off and said they were closed. I live down the street and would have frequented this place. Not so much any more.....

Love Doc's. This is a beach burger joint done right... The type of place when you are all gross from the beach with sand in your hair and toes, where you order an awesome burger, onion rings, fries, and a chili dog, and think you have died and gone to heaven. The place is a dive... But that is the way it is supposed to be. Order a milkshake a beer and get over yourself. You only live once!

  • Kitty G.

I'd give it a negative star if I could. We used to frequent Doc's - we remembered why we no longer go there. It's filthy and the food is awful. My family ordered 3 foot-long hot dogs. We told the surly girl behind the window that we would put the ketchup and mustard on ourselves. Our friends ordered 3 PLAIN foot-longs. We received 3 burned dogs - plain. Our friends received 3 burned dogs WITH ketchup and mustard. They explained they had ordered 3 with no condiments. They were yelled at by the rude "cook" (I use that term loosely) that only way he'd make 3 plain hot dogs was if they purchased 3 more. Such a shame because this place was once a fun throw-back that you enjoyed visiting after the beach or with out of town guests as a fun spot to grab an all American bite. It really is a terrible, nasty let down.

I really wanted to like Doc's - I was begging people to come with me to try the place out; it looked like a classic burger n' hot dog joint and that old school ambiance had me intrigued to try the food. One burger, hot dog, and some fries - each were entirely disappointing. I eat my hot dogs plain, usually, so I know what a good hot dog tastes like... this sorry, rubbery excuse for a tube of meat was NOT. Maybe it was the way they cooked it or maybe it was an old hot dog... I dunno. The burger was charred and tasteless; the person I was with had to suck down his shake to just swallow. I don't remember if he liked the shake, either. The fries? Not crispy and delicious... more like, oily and mushy. All in all, I was so disappointed by Doc's. I keep thinking that I'll give them another try, but every new review I read just further seals my thoughts in carbonite.

Milkshakes are the only thing I have gone in for! Kilwin's which is fabulous and pompous and extravagant is $8 for a milkshake, here its about $5 and double the size... Off-putting: we once stopped in there for lunch, but the Garlic Festival was going on that day, so we walked in and they were open but said they wouldn't cook or serve anything, it wasn't worth it... so missed out on lunch. So that's really a 3...

Cash only - they have an ATM on site. Serving your traditional fast food fayre accompanied by 50's music. Eat outside ONLY, seated at one of the wobbly tables. Parking at the back of the restaurant. It is nice for the burger shack ambience, especially as Delray businesses go upscale.

  • John R.

OK... so while in Delray this was the one of two places we went back to and ONLY for the food. ... The blackened Mahi Mahi Sandwich was delicious. If I lived in Delray I would order it weekly (call ahead). My friend enjoed her burger and the shakes were very good too. I would give this place four yes 4 **** stars for what we had to eat both times. However the owner of this place needs to Run !! Not Walk to this business. The staff is so rude that it took every ounce of my being not to tell them to Go F- - -themselves and leave! The woman in front of me just about did it, during the interaction with the guy taking her order she said, "forget this"! Then grabbed her son, walked away and flicked her finger at the guy behind the counter! On both visits it was much the same, it wasn't just me either! If you own this joint you are loosing business. The first visit there 2 of the 4 people in line said they were never coming back! The 2nd time wasn't much better with some of the staff being the same & a few new faces behind the counter. You wait at the window to order and, from my observation often have to YELL back to get anyone's attention. 2 of the 5 guys working there are constantly out back smoking cigarette's, the front where patron's sit needs to be picked up and swept on occasion and well you've already heard earlier in the review the other service issues, but more coming! I had to wait FOREVER to pay the cashier because at 9 pm he was counting out his draw and wasn't sure he could change a $50 bill. When you are CASH ONLY business right off, you should be able to change a $50 bill on a $20 order and the only cashier working shouldn't be counting out his draw @ 9 pm on a Saturday when 5 people are in line. Next time I'm down I'll call in my order so my experience and interaction with the Meathead's behind the window is at an all time minimum! I would recommend folk's going to this place for the great cheap eat's, but you are NOT going to be happy with the service or attitude, and like other's may never go back again because of it ...Maybe someone local can get a petition going for the owner of this place to upgrade for better staff. Imagine that ...petitioning for better staff ... LOL! Things that make you go Hmmm?

This place is a classic. Great location, great shakes and good food. I feel like it is a place out of Happy Days from the 1950s = fun for all.

Meh. We went here after eating at Park Tavern. Ordered a cone with the 'magic shell' sauce. Not that it was bad (it's ice cream after all), I just remember it to me 'unremarkable'. I know I wasn't crazy about the magic shell ,and I was full, so maybe i just need to go and get a swirl by itself and report back. Yeah, yeah, that's what I'm gonna do!

Horrible experience. After standing around for 10 minutes waiting to give my order, we finally ask if someone will take it. Food ordered, no announcement of its readiness. Another customer asked the staff if the burgers were as good as everyone said, and she just shrugged her shoulders. When the food did come, the burger tasted Iike the charbroiler gas. Fries mediocre. This place looks way better from the road. Just drive right past...

My husband and I stopped here for a quick lunch on July 4th before heading down Atlantic to do some people watching. I ordered the footlong Hebrew National hotdog and they had sauerkraut available, too. It was really long and really good! My husband was craving for a gyro and he decided to give theirs a try. He was a bit disappointed as the gyro lamb meat is more like it was grilled from a frozen pack like steak-umms and NOT freshly sliced from the lamb rotisserie as most greek restaurants would do. A shame, so now we know we won't order gyros from this place, even though the lettuce and onions and other veggies in the gyro was definitely sliced fresh. Their fries and hot dog was still very enjoyable. We'd probably come back whenever we're down this way on Atlantic.

Tried once again to buy some ice cream for my sons. Waited 15 minutes at the window while one guy counted the change in the tip jar and another sat on the counter... Just gave up and went to Kilwins. This place is a dirty dump and it appears they've just given up on any pretense of customer service. About a year ago I took my sons to Doc's and despite bad service we did get some food. Of course, they were hamburgers that were burnt so badly my boys couldn't gnaw through them. The french fries however were cold in the middle. Great location, lots of history (for an ice cream stand in Florida)...the owner obviously doesn't care any more.

  • Brian R.

They don't make little burger joints like this anymore. The classic American burger stand located in the sunshine on a corner that's easy to get in and out of. There's nothing especially fancy about Doc's burgers and hot dogs, but it is sweating the little details, like the fresh bread and the quality meats cheeses and ice creams that they use in their foods that makes them shine. It is sitting out on the patio, and enjoying old-fashioned food that causes the American Heart Association to cringe, that gives this place its pop.

My girl friends and I visited the avenue last weekend and couldn't decide where to go.. We saw Doc's and thought it was a great throw back to a fifties diner. We ordered burgers fries and shakes. The burgers were juicy and flavorful. The fries were the best!! . and who really makes a good shake or malt these days..Well let me say Doc's does! All this in a quaint setting that will be a pleasant departure from the usual chain restaurant . We will definitely be back.

Your basic beach diner. Burgers, Hot Dogs, Fries, Shakes, Ice cream and... ROOT BEER! It's cheap too. Cute place to relax and get out of the sun for a bit.

alright, its no In-N-Out burger but it'll do. Good all american great burger and great fries. The shake was....mmm....AWESOME. I didnt like the wait outside for the food to be made but I guess thats a trade off when your food is being made FRESH! Nice and greasy...just the way daddy likes!

Good burgers, dogs, gyros, chicken and fish sandwiches. I'm a fan of the chicken Philly Sammy. Some of the best greasy onion rings. Soft serve and hand scooped ice cream, excellent milkshakes. Cash only, free Wi-fi. During tennis tournaments you catch quite a crowd here!

Went here for the first time with the wife this weekend. Guys were really nice and recommended what to get (I got the double Cheese, and wife got single, shared large fry and it was plenty!) Burgers were awesome. This is good 'ole american fresh ground beef. I eat a lot of burgers and am pretty picky, burgers were fresh and cooked perfect where it was still juicy. I didnt think they were too greasy at all, (Five guys burgers to me are WAY more greasy) This is my new spot and it beat out BurgerFi. Shakes here put it over the top, amazing, gotta get them to round out the meal!

  • Susan C.

This place sucks. It's definitely cheap food but not great. And when I asked for cheese on my burger I didn't get it and when I told them I asked for cheese they told me it was 50cents extra. Thanks for not listening. And the burger made me sick. Like puke worthy sick. Very disappointed in how this place got, because I thought it was pretty good before.

Doc's is one of those landmark establishments in Delray. They are the classic "All-American" meal. Walking around "The Ave", Doc's is the perfect place for a pit stop. It has the classic burgers, hot dogs, and shakes. The burgers are filling and shakes are smooth and thick. It is a classic burger joint taken straight out of 1950's scene. If you want quick service, solid "All-American" meal, and an outdoor spot, Doc's is the place to visit on that warm afternoon.

  • Angela S.

Decent food but overpriced for what it is. The food seems overly greasy too. I mean seriously, how greasy should a veggie burger be. Remember it's cash only here.

    (3)
  • Hugh P.

Food was awful. I could not find Five Guys so on the way back to the interstate a saw this place. The hamburger had no taste and the fry's were no where near the taste of a fresh cut fry. Avoid at all cost.

The Eats: Food is better than fast food but not as amazing as I thought. Best for hot dogs, fries, and ice cream. The Experience: Young service. Management kind of looks like a bunch of jerks. Saw an awkward experience there that lead to the closing and whoever was closing the place down was a huge ass to us. The Damage: Cheap for delray

I must first apologize to all the newbies (members with relatively low number of reviews) out there like Sydney G. as I typically place more weight on the reviews from members with a greater number of reviews. However, this is one time where that line of thinking burned me. I am echoing Sydney G.'s review of Doc's All American. What were the rest of you thinking? Come on now -- 4 stars -- 5 stars?!!! WOW! NO WAY!! Yes, I get it, this place is a "grease pit." However, you can taste the grease/oil from the fryer that hasn't been changed all day in practically everything you take a bite out of. The fries were overcooked and down right nasty. I had a grease dripping chili cheeseburger which is still swooshing around in my gut 4 hours after I downed it as my stomach attempts to figure out how it is going to make me purge it. In fact, I am writing this review as I drink a glass of Alka Seltzer. The rest of the party had the Philly Cheese steak and it was just straight YUK. Too much of that fake cheese sauce and once again, dripping from grease all over the place. Finally, we also ordered their foot long hot dog. It tasted like anything but a hot dog. You could taste that yummy grease though. Ended up throwing half of it out. Moreover, the men's restroom was broken so everyone had to use the women. Sorry ladies, no tissue paper in there this evening for you. You had to go "Au Naturale" or walk in with a handful of napkins from the order line. The sink faucet had a dirty towel around the knobs as it was leaking water from it and the bathroom reminded me of the restrooms in the horrid Orange Bowl that wreaked of... well, you know. Yes, Doc's also has other items such as Gyro's, salads, chicken fingers, ice cream, and ice cream shakes. However, this Yelper will not be fooled into thinking the next visit will be any different. Rather, this experience has taught me a valuable lesson (burp...) sorry, that was the chili burger. The lesson tonight is, I should not readily dismiss, the reviews of newbie Yelpers. It may just save me from a night of heartburn and acid indigestion.

Good ole Doc's! I love this classic joint that is located in the heart of Delray Beach. The greasy burgers and hot dogs can't even beat the local fast food joints. It's not for the ones that don't like to eat outside. We brought our dachshund with us there before since it welcomes pets. All the furry ones won't mind having a bit of your food :) Make sure you leave room for dessert. The ice cream and milkshakes are super good!

    (4)
  • Jamie C.

A-ok. Nothing special. Ordered the footlong chili cheese dog, cheeseburger, Philly cheese steak, onion rings and fries. All greasy as expected. The cheese steak wasn't very good but the burger and chili dog was ok. I don't think I would go back.

    (3)
  • Lauren M.

This place is classic. Atlantic Avenue wouldn't be the same without it. It's a great place to just get burgers, milkshakes, and ice cream. I remember coming here after being in middle school plays and being completely obnoxious. I mean, like, we were serenading the whole place with show tunes, but it was fine. The place is nothing fancy, the bathrooms are not the best, but it's fun. BUT never leave your car there after closing time, it will get booted.

    (5)
  • Mig U.

This place is just a bit "whack." it looks better than the food taste. Makes you think you are about to experience something great when in actuality, you are in for a HUGE disappointment. The burgers patties are paper thin, lack flavor, and substance. Just head over to 5 guys...

    (1)
  • David W.

I got the double cheeseburger and it tasted like burger king whopper. They were char broiled in the same fashion. There is really not much to say about this place. It's cheap and there is outside seating. The burgers are average and that's about it. My girlfriend got the Cheesesteak and said it wasn't that great. The bathrooms are pretty neglected as other Yelpers have indicated.

    (2)
  • Mary G.

One of the worst burgers I have ever had. Bland and tasteless. Plus they charged $.50 to put cheese on it even when I eliminated lettuce, tomato and onion. Fries were greasy and over cooked. I think they keep fry them again after they get cold. Not good.

  • Luke H.

A fantastic blast from the past starts off one of the best entertainment districts in South Florida. If you want some fast food, and you are anywhere near Delray or I-95 and Atlantic Ave. , then do yourself a favor and stop here. Burgers and Shakes.

This place is awful!! The fries tasted like the oil they fried them in was a month old. The cheese steak was horrible. And to top it off the ladies room was out of order so they told me to use the men's room. It was so disgusting I almost vomited. I would never EVER go back!!!

  • Dave J.

Great beach food in a great beach town. Burgers, foot long hotdogs, onion rins, fries, shakes Doc's can't be beat. Right in downtown Delray. You don't see places like this anymore, that's too bad. Forget the chain fast foods, Doc's is the place to eat after the beach. Would get 5 stars if a little closer to the beach, however it is right next to the tennis stadium. All outdoor seating.

    (4)
  • Paul F.

This is a landmark, historic walk up restaurant, with covered outside seating. My favorite is the patty melt, especially during the time the 100 foot tree is standing next door in Old School Square. Of course the ice cream is great! The location is PICTURE PERFECT.

    (5)
  • David F.

They boast about have home made fresh cut french fries however you can see the frozen french fry boxes in the dumpster. The burgers used to be fresh now they are frozen. The mens roon has been "out of order" for months and the kitchen is so dirty I'm not sure the health department has seen it. If the owner returned back to his roots and truly served the best product he could get his hands on he will have returned back to the great place this used to be. Can only hope.

There is nothing good about thisdirthole. I don't mind greasy food but the food here is terrible. The burger tastes like rubber and the fires are raw. McDonalds seems like gourmet compared to this place. Dirty all around

Old school diner built in 1951, I've been going there on and off for the past 10 years. Good place for your grease craving. They have good hamburgers, hotdogs, and ice-cream. What set the restaurant off are their gyros, patty melts and their milk shakes. They are great! Getting your food is fast, and the service is good. Prices are fine. It's outside with a very casual atmosphere. Come in your tank-top or bring your dog, it's all fair game. The place could be a little cleaner, e.g.; chairs need to be cleaned or replaced, outside needs a renovation, then again you're not going there for the ambiance but their food!

  • Larry R.

First time there. Heard all about the history, blah, blah, blah. Two charred beyond worth eating foot longs, and some soda, filled with ice, served by less than enthusiastic employees for $9. Really not in a rush to go back. The highlight was the off street parking and the table seating outside was very nice. Sorry, Doc, not a fan.

    (2)
  • Guil M.

I think this is as close to "street food" as South Florida gets. I used to intern in the courthouse across the street and on my lunch breaks I'd come to Doc's and order a philly cheesesteak with fries and sometimes onion rings. Considering the atmosphere-- old, plastic furniture, low quality utensils, not exactly clean, etc-- you'd expect it to be very cheap. However, you spend just as much as you'd spend at a sports bar with A/C, a waiter, etc. Nonetheless, the food at Doc's is consistently great and sometimes that's all that's needed to make me happy!

    (3)
  • James V.

This IS the all-American grease pit! It's like, 5 star for the ambience and frozen-in-time experience. True, you must be careful about what you order. If you're not used to this type of food, it can make you sick. Today three of us split one order of fries and had some lemon aid. It was good and it was fun. Hadn't been there in like 12 years, but there it sits all the time, like an attractive nuisance. I think food really was like this in the 50's, which is why we have the health crisis today. Bon Apetite! As for the restrooms, I think maybe also authentic. I don't remember public restrooms being clean at all as a kid in the 60's.

Best burgers in town. Cheap, too. I really hope this place never closes. It's one of those classic joints that has stood up to the test of time. Love it.

  • Mihae L.

We took the burgers and a chocolate shake to go from here and ate it on our balcony at our hotel. I would say the burgers are pretty delicious, but the bun was semi soggy by the time we got to bite into them. The chocolate shake was good but pretty standard. Service was friendly. I would give them three stars. Maybe the buns would be less soggy if eating in rather than taking out. Oh, I should also mention the burgers are really huge here and you get a lot for your money's worth.

Do you know what two things had to converge for me to suddenly remember Doc's, years after my last meal there and hundreds of miles away from it? 1. My dear friend Liz's presence on Yelp.com ! (Check out her reviews--she's been yelping all over the place.) She's my main Doc's eating buddy, next to our former boss-lady. 2. My intense, insane, out-of-control hunger that could only be satisfied by a dream meal. And that dream meal would be a Doc's cheeseburger and a chocolate milkshake. Walk up to the counter, order your meal, and wait a few minutes 'til it's ready. Nothing fancy, but it's definitely 100% beachtown diner. In the heart of ritzy Delray, townies (if there are any these days!), nearby workers (that was me back in '02-'03), and beach bums need some places to go apart from the yummy but more posh restaurants that line Atlantic Avenue. Sweet Jesus. Will you get a tummy ache? It's probable. Is it worth it? No doubt. P.S. This place is OUTDOORS. Last I checked, there were no indoor seats. Consider yourself forewarned.

I love Doc's. It's the perfect place to grab some ice cream after dinner and walk the long way home. One time my cousins and I walked the two miles there and back barefoot, still totally worth it. Grab a cone, sit outside, play in the fountain, and enjoy watching all of the drunks come off Atlantic Ave.

went to docs last week with a bunch of friends, very very cool place! they have awesome burgers and cheesesteaks. i didn't know they had ice cold beer so i grabbed a cold one. my friends had milkshakes and floats. i felt like i was back in the 50's again. we love docs!!

Only soft serve in delray but machine not always working right so sometimes drippy dipped cones. burgers are cardboardy but not bad when hungry. Authentic old institution. Counter help never too cheerful .

Dad had a giant greaseburger and loved it! Great grandpa had a foot long hot dog and complained it was too big. No problem; when I turn 97 in 2105, I'll be hangin' out here -Good place for people watching.

Doc's is not what you would expect to see along the boulevard, which is littered with bars and pricey restaurants. Doc's is your old-fashioned, neighborhood hamburger joint. The burgers are traditional albeit deliciously greasy, and by greasy i mean a laxative wrapped in two buns. Don't fret, the simple yet tasty burgers along with the cozy neighborhood feel are worth the post-burger sacrifice.

Doc's is awesome. It reminds me of the drive-in my parents used to take me to when I was little. Greasy food, dipped cones, youngsters flippin' burgers. Yay!

This is good old days burger joint. Burgers are made 1 at a time and is properly greasy. Nothing fancy and cheap like the old days. A total winner. Best after a bit of a pub crawl up Atlantic.

i've been to docs twice now while in the delray area. their hamburgers are really good. they have a great location. prices are reasonable and the atmosphere is casual. you can get grilled cheese, hot dog, patty melts and gyros along with icecream and italian ices. i think i give it three stars because it looks like it needs some tender loving cleaning. the tables and chairs need pressure cleaned once in a while. the bathroom...not so clean. its an old gas station converted and could be so much nicer. i have another review for a hamburger joint in napa, ca that they should visit and take note of.

OK... so while in Delray this was the one of two places we went back to and ONLY for the food.

Great location, lots of history (for an ice cream stand in Florida)...the owner obviously doesn't care any more.

alright, its no In-N-Out burger but it'll do.

This place is just a bit "whack." it looks better than the food taste. Makes you think you are about to experience something great when in actuality, you are in for a HUGE disappointment. The burgers patties are paper thin, lack flavor, and substance. Just head over to 5 guys...

One of the worst burgers I have ever had. Bland and tasteless. Plus they charged $.50 to put cheese on it even when I eliminated lettuce, tomato and onion. Fries were greasy and over cooked. I think they keep fry them again after they get cold. Not good.

A fantastic blast from the past starts off one of the best entertainment districts in South Florida. If you want some fast food, and you are anywhere near Delray or I-95 and Atlantic Ave. , then do yourself a favor and stop here. Burgers and Shakes.

A-ok. Nothing special. Ordered the footlong chili cheese dog, cheeseburger, Philly cheese steak, onion rings and fries. All greasy as expected. The cheese steak wasn't very good but the burger and chili dog was ok. I don't think I would go back.

This place is awful!! The fries tasted like the oil they fried them in was a month old. The cheese steak was horrible. And to top it off the ladies room was out of order so they told me to use the men's room. It was so disgusting I almost vomited. I would never EVER go back!!!

  • Yasmany C.

    (4)
  • K H.

Doc's is awesome. It reminds me of the drive-in my parents used to take me to when I was little. Greasy food, dipped cones, youngsters flippin' burgers. Yay!

  • Terry G.

The burger was not cooked the drink machine is not Pepsi or Coca-Cola a burger and a drink is seven dollars cash only but he wants you to pay three bucks for his ATM fee....I took two bites and left to never come back-

    (1)
  • Micky O.

I rarely carry cash and when I get to the window there are signs that says CASH ONLY! However, the owner has strategically placed an ATM that charges you 3 dollars to get your money. Thanks but no thanks I don't want your burger that bad.

    (1)
  • Kate M.

    (2)
  • Shawn C.

A fun spot.

  • Christina S.

OK... so while in Delray this was the one of two places we went back to and ONLY for the food.

We will definitely be back.

alright, its no In-N-Out burger but it'll do.

A-ok. Nothing special. Ordered the footlong chili cheese dog, cheeseburger, Philly cheese steak, onion rings and fries. All greasy as expected. The cheese steak wasn't very good but the burger and chili dog was ok. I don't think I would go back.

Love it.

This place is just a bit "whack." it looks better than the food taste. Makes you think you are about to experience something great when in actuality, you are in for a HUGE disappointment. The burgers patties are paper thin, lack flavor, and substance. Just head over to 5 guys...

This place is awful!! The fries tasted like the oil they fried them in was a month old. The cheese steak was horrible. And to top it off the ladies room was out of order so they told me to use the men's room. It was so disgusting I almost vomited. I would never EVER go back!!!

This is a landmark, historic walk up restaurant, with covered outside seating. My favorite is the patty melt, especially during the time the 100 foot tree is standing next door in Old School Square. Of course the ice cream is great! The location is PICTURE PERFECT.
