You want a good, uncomplicated breakfast? HUNTER'S fits the bill. Friendly with good food.

Great place for a quick breakfast, lunch or dinner. It's your typical small town greasy spoon. Way better option than chain restaurants...the grits are the best anywhere!

Made the mistake of choosing this place for a late Sunday breakfast. I don't mind waiting a bit when a restaurant is busy but they need to kick some ass in this place and get the freeloaders to actually earn their pay. Karen has been a prominent mainstay of the establishment for years, and she either needs to take a break or be retrained in customer service. In addition to being slow, her sour disposition could use a makeover. Although if I was working with a man whose only job appears to be holding down the cash register I would be sour too. As long as we sat waiting for menus and our order to be taken Karen should have had someone else clear a table while she took our order instead. Instead we watched her clean the table, roll the bus cart to the kitchen and then stroll over to our table to take our order. On a positive note, although the food was average, run of the mill Cheny Brothers fare, the kitchen staff made sure it was prepared quickly and as ordered. No complaints there! On our way out I noticed the large man had abandoned his post at the cash register in favor of leaning on the back counter to slurp down the remnants of a milkshake one of the servers had just finished making for a customer. This my friends is why we frequent other places instead of this one on a regular basis.

Good ole fashion mom and pop joint. I've been here probably 6 or 7 times, my parents have been many more times.. All in all, they have really good food at really decent prices. The omlets are my personal favorite. I take visiting friends here who want a small town place with decent fairs. All in all, this place is great!

Hunter's is a little mom & pop's style restaurant in DeLand's small but cozy downtown area. Walking in and seeing the outdated decor (minus the few flat screen TVs) is no indicator of the actually delicious food they served. I had the buffalo chicken sandwich and it was perfectly breaded with a great hot sauce flavor. The fries were great- not too fried, seasoned perfectly, and a good serving size. Unfortunately, the place was swamped at lunch hour and they only had one waitress on the floor. Service was nice, but slow. Luckily, good food and decent prices save this little place.

Solid diner type food been here for years. Fairly consistent decent quality. Breakfast is there best meal.

I ordered the captain crunch french toast and it was amazing. The people were very nice and made us feel welcome. I will be back to try the bananas foster breakfast dish.

Good homestyle breakfast. Not fast, though. You won't be in and out.

Great cozy spot to eat if you are in Downtown Deland. Cheap, simple, and good breakfast. Not crowded like some of the bigger restuarants. Will be back to try their lunch menu next.
