Bellini's definitely is the best sit-down Italian restaurant in the DeLand area. It's where the locals have been coming forever and for good reason. I can't think of much that has changed about the place in the last 15 years or so. Same people, same menu, same deli, prices adjusted for inflation. And nothing needs to change anytime in the near future. The selection is basically what you would expect from any normal spaghetti and meatballs Italian place. I would suggest starting with their superb greek or antipasto salad and great garlic bread. As far as entrees go, their stromboli can't be beat (ham is the best). They make theirs in individual little pinwheels baked separately rather than a big one cut up after baking, and this adds a lot more crispy texture to each bite. The pasta-based entrees and pizza are good as well. I would suggest getting a few things and sharing. They make a great cannoli and it's the perfect way to end a meal. Their deli case allows you to buy a lot of the products they use (meats, cheeses, etc), and for the home chef, the front of the store houses a good selection of imported ingredients (pastas, olive oils, basalmic vinegars, olives, so on). I would suggest avoiding the absolute peak lunch hour during the work week, as things can get a bit backed up since downtown office workers (and a lot of hardworking deputy sheriffs usually) know that this is the place to come for a good lunch. Also, while it was said earlier, I must reiterate that this place is cash only! Despite having come here for many years, I have found myself having to run out the back door to the ATM during my meal on more than one occasion!

Anyone who gives Bellini's less than 5-stars has to answer directly to me. The prices at Bellini's always seemed to be stuck in the early 70s. Not that I would know since I'm not that old, but that's what I'm guessing anyway. And now that I checked their website (I cant believe they actually have a website), they STILL are. $4.50 for a giant meatball sub? What a bargain. I used to LOVE their garlic bread. Another basket please. This was the best-place-EVER to come on a poor college student's budget, and was a necessity for a pre-binge drinking party night. All that garlic bread and pasta really soaked up the alcohol. The owners here are from NYC, and it was the best (and cheapest) Italian from my college days. Good Italian in Florida is a bit like finding a polar bear in Mexico. It's technically possible, but dont count on it. You could, however, count on Bellinis. Next time I'm back in Deland, I'm absolutely going to make it a point to eat here again.

This ultra-casual, family-owned place is the best choice for Italian in Deland. Their pizza is decent, but the other dishes are a thing of beauty. The stromboli is consistently perfect (and enormous), and I want to take their pasta sauce home by the gallon. The service is quick and friendly, but the place is often busy around dinner time, and they're closed Sunday/Monday. CASH ONLY, like much of Deland. This is the place to go for a simple, tasty dinner in Deland.

Went here tonight for the first time - It was terrific. The servers were attentive and pleasant. The veal parm was so tender and the breading was delicious. The other person in my party had the chicken parm - and was very happy with it also. The topper, though were the conolis. Delicious..the filling was great..little taste of chocolate in the filling. I will be going back here..there was plenty to chose from on the menu and I am looking forward to sampling different things..but, I will be finishing with the conolis!

Good subs, good atmosphere, Can't wait to try a pie. Should be great.

Love, love, love, LOVE this place! I can never drive through downtown DeLand without stopping in for their Italian sub and potato salad. It's the best Italian sub I've ever had. The restaurant is family owned and has photos up around the restaurant giving it a very "at home" feel. The staff, food, atmosphere, everything is just great. Check it out if you're in the area you won't regret it!

I was told this place was excellent. Well, the pizza is meh, and the subs and salads are over priced. Not sure if I'll come back.

Love this place!!! It can be crowded around lunch time but it's so good! They have awesome subs!

    (5)
  • Tara G.

I'm not too impressed with the pizza here if I'm being honest. The crust is a little too thick to be considered NY style and there was just way too much cheese on the pie. I picked up a few pies as a treat for my coworkers and got a variety of different pizzas. It seemed like each one had the same problem; too doughy and cheesy which isn't always a good thing. Perhaps if they baked it for a bit longer it wouldn't be so bad. It isn't the worst pizza I've ever had, but it wasn't good enough for me to want to try it again. It's disappointing because I really wanted to like this place given all the good reviews, but it just missed the mark.

My fiancé wanted a good sub and so I recommended Bellini's. He ordered a roast beef and turkey sub with custom toppings. the price was great and he wasn't even able to finish half of the sub. I ordered a teriyaki chicken salad and it was awesome. The chicken chunks and large sliced cucumbers (cukes) were great with a side of ranch dressing. By the end of our lunch he asked what else they offer. I knew that meant he enjoyed and would be back!

Most menu items are okay-- nothing to die for. Pizza is alright, Stromboli is alright, salad is just a salad. However, the cannolis are AMAZING. You should order five times the amount you think you'll want. You will crave them for weeks afterward. They are freshly piped with a delicious center. The flavor is authentic and delicious unlike the garbage cannolis you can purchase elsewhere.

    (4)
  • Mercy L.

I really love the food specials here- any hot dinner entree comes with a salad and garlic bread. I could literally die for that bread, it's so delicious! The salad is pre-made and stored in the fridge for what seems like days so I really would not recommend eating too much of it. The portions are big so make sure to save. The manicotti and baked ziti are my favorite. The actual location itself is not up-kept and i deep cleaning would do it some justice. Just got back from my first visit. I moved to Deland two years ago and craved a good meatball hero. Couldn't find one or a Italian deli. Tried this place after a recommendation. It was great. The owner greeted us and was so nice. Excellent food and prices! Definitely will be back many times!

    (5)
  • Jamie N.

Excellent with low prices and large portions. Great for dinner. Had that rolled, calzone thing (spamoni?) and it was delicious. Ice Cream store next to it is great too.

Yum yum yum!! My family has been coming here for 20 years! I remember coming as a small child and just a eating one huge meatball for dinner! Now I normally will get a sub because they are delicious! Fresh fresh fresh and friendly! The family who works and owns the place always remembers us and greats us accordingly! Such great memories in this place! Never have had a bad experience!!

Love this place great place in downtown Deland I don't know how long they have been here but I've eaten here a lot in the past 3 years. It doesn't matter what you order you will love it fresh ingredients great service fair prices.

I have been a Bellini's fanatic for the better part of 15 years. I'm stationed out of state now, but every time I come home for a visit, Bellini's is my only mandatory stop. All of my friends and family understand that it is an unspoken rule that we WILL be making at least one Bellini's trip! I try to plan my visits around the days the restaurant is closed and their annual holiday closure as well-- it's worth it. I always get the hot roast beef sub and it is incredible. There's nothing like it anywhere (I suspect the secret is in their mayonnaise-- heavily!). Their Stromboli is also amazing. This is a small, often packed family-owned Italian delicatessen, but you'll fall in love with the place just like the rest of DeLand. I wish they could ship out to San Diego...

Simply the best affordable family dining in Deland. I have been going for years. The owner is always up front greeting guests and making sandwiches. Simple affordable sandwiches, salads, pizza, stromboli and pasta dishes. It's in an older building on Rich ave and they have done fine with the remodel. Family friendly, affordable quality. What more do you need?

We were planning to go to the Thai place around the corner, but it was a 20 min wait, so we tried Bellini's. We were not disappointed! The calamari was good, the hot italian sub was AMAZING! The ham Stromboli was also very good. It was warm inside, we were wishing they had outdoor seating, but we'll come back for sure if we're in the area again!

Large 3 topping pizza for around $11. Great deal. Excellent pizza, the sauce flavorful, the crust with just the right amount of crisp and not stingy with the toppings. Our service couldn't have been better. This is my second visit here and the first pizza and I can't for the life of me figure out why I haven't ordered pizza from here before!

Love Bellini's! They made the food for our Christmas Party second year in a row! I can not say enough about it. Quantity and quality! It is always a hit and we will be coming back for more all year long!

Had the most delicious lunch with my wife and parents here. Everything was great tasting and food was served fast and hot... If you go you have to get the potato salad, it it the best I ever had.. and I don't usually like potato salad. My wife said all around it was OK...

I love this place, been coming here for years. Anytime that I want a great sub I come back to this place often. Everyone should check it out some time.

The place was filthy the ceiling tiles were old and warped, the service was horrible and the food was even worse the pizza was some of the worse I've ever had. The bathrooms were revolting, instead of just standing around with their heads up their asses they should've been cleaning up the place.

What a pleasant and tasty lunch! My husband and I shared a Greek salad and the Bellini's special pizza. We split a small pizza and it was the perfect size. The salad was wonderful! It was fresh, the tomatoes had a really remarkable ripe flavor, and the ham, salami, and feta were top quality. We had our 14 month old son with us, and he tried a pepperoncini for the first time! He had a nice time, too. The staff was friendly and attentive. Overall, it was an exceptionally good lunch :)

Since I'm unable to make it to Homecoming, I'll assuage my nostalgia with a review of this DeLand favorite. Whenever I go DeLand, I put Bellini's on my agenda. And I'm never disappointed. Based on memories of good times with great friends over great food, I would give Bellini's ten stars. But yelp limits me to five, and they deserve every one. Bellini's is a New York-Italian-Style-Deli that has been in business for over thirty years to (almost) standing-room-only crowds for a reason. The food really is that good. You can't go wrong with a pizza, and the strombolis are huge. I favor the hot subs, and a few of my friends go for the pasta. Whatever your favorite ends up being, you're bound to go home happy.

  • Ros Rio R.

Good local grub. The italian food is good for the price. I like the Italian hero "hot" ATW - caution tons of Mayo. The owner Scott is a class act with a heart and soul of gold. Start with a small dish of the marinated green olives :)

    (4)
  • Ian R.

According to my mother I have been eating at Bellini's since I was in the womb. Since '83 actual memories begin around age 7 or 8. Now fast-forward 20 years and I'm still going back for more. That should be 'nuff said but I will add a bit more. I love family owned and operated businesses. They will always receive my support (if the food is good of course!!). When you walk in to Bellini's the beautiful aroma of a delicatessen is in full bloom. I begin to salivate as soon as my nose picks up the scent of greatness. The food is simple, yet tasty and soul-fillingly good. I am all about trying new things but this has to be one place where I cannot pass up an opportunity for my favorite item, thus I order it every time I go. You must try the Pepperoni-Provolone hot sub as it comes!! Like I mentioned, simple, but done very well. I look forward to the day I have kids of my own and get to bring them here!

I've been going to Bellini's since I was born. It's just that one place that my family can always rely on for friendly service and good, tasty food. The owner, Scott, and his family are super friendly and always welcome my family by name when we walk through the door. The food is basic Italian deli-style food, but it's some of my favorite. I crave their hot roast beef sub all the time. Like some other reviews said, they do tend to pack on the mayo so if you're not a mayo lover, make sure to ask them to go light on it. Another weird reason I love Bellinis is that, for as long as I can remember, they've always served Snapple drinks. I know its silly, but ordering a Snapple peach iced tea is one of my favorite parts, cause Ive done it for as long as I can remember. Its probably the only drink Ive ever ordered there. Another favorite dish of mine is the tortellini. I always ask for it with Alfredo sauce instead of marinara and it's really good! They have a fantastic Greek salad and really good Stromboli. I always get a side of potato salad or macaroni salad with my meal, and my mom likes to order a side of marinated olives with hers. All are really good, and a great value. I think their entire menu is a great deal as well. They have ridiculously reasonable prices, with a lot of their subs being around $5. Their sides of potato and macaroni salad and olives are only a few dollars. Overall, Bellini's is a great little restaurant that has provided my family and I with a lot of great memories and even more great food. I definitely recommend trying it if you're in town (or even driving in from out of town!) :)

This is a good place to get a sub. Their turkey sub is delicious. Just be warned when they put on mayo- they slather it on. So either say light mayo or grab a lot of napkins.

I LOVE YOU Bellini's! Another place I've been coming to since my Stetson days (oh so long ago) that delivers good but cheap italian food. The owners are warm and friendly and serve up tasty italian treats such as the best garlic bread around, baked ziti, meatball subs, stromboli and so much more. I especially love their antipasto salad and their huge vat of marinated olives. How about this.... I get to eat their lasagna every Christmas at my in-law's house. It's their tradition! Sometimes my Bellinis craving is so strong, we'll just get in the car and make the hour drive. Seriously. It's that good.

Bellini's has been a favorie of ours for many years. They still have the same great food and service as always. We just went Friday night and learned that they ARE NOW TAKING CREDIT CARDS - can you believe it?? After all these years!! I just wanted to let everone know.

i need to agree with the former writer hands down! Bellini's is a fantastic little deli that offers great , yet hard-to-find Italian eats & treats! the owners, formally from Brooklyn, originally from Italy, are a lovely hard working family that works together and offer service and great atmosphere to all who enter. Very accommodating, I must say. Bellisimo! BRAVO!

I feel like this place is highly overrated. The first time I tried it I got the baked ziti and was not impressed. It lacked flavor and cheese. Recently I thought I'd give it another chance since I was craving some good spaghetti. While the spaghetti wasn't completely awful it was nothing to praise. It was just plain. If I go back I'll probably just get a simple salad with their wonderful Italian dressing, which is one of the only good things about the place. It is cheap tho, i will give them that (you get a side salad, bread and a large plate for $6). It is perfect for a college budget it just did not satisfy my taste buds. Generally I'm just not pleased with this place at all, it just lacks flavor. I'll stick to eating Italian food when I visit Saint Petersburg.

Went here based upon other reviews. I asked the server how is the chicken parm. She said everything is fresh and it is good. So I ordered the chicken parm dinner. When it came to the table I cut into it and quickly realized that it was a processed chicken patty. When the server returned I asked her about it and she said it is prepared at the restaurant and is not a patty. She walked away and I was getting more disgusted by the minute. I guess she realized I was done with dinner and asked if I want a box to take home. I said I'm not happy with it and I know it is a patty. This time she didn't say anything. She adjusted the check. Went to the front to pay because they did charge me for the side salad and side of pasta. When I went to pay the bill they asked how was my dinner. When I said I didn't enjoy my meal they became defensive. I felt that I was being admonished for disliking the meal. I will not return to this place. Poor quality food and service.

Nice small Italian Deli. The sandwich was OK. Didnt like how they serve the Italian sub open face style. Makes it tough to put together to eat. The other downside is they dont take amex. Not good for my business travel purposes.

Love this low key Italian deli. The subs and pizza are fantastic. Their best pizza is the Bellini Special, covered in sausage and assorted veggies, it's just perfect. The seating in Bellini's can get really crowded at lunch. Love the food and simple deli atmosphere! This is my happy place from growing up in DeLand, lots of great family memories and great Italian food here!

Just got back from my first visit. I moved to Deland two years ago and craved a good meatball hero. Couldn't find one or a Italian deli. Tried this place after a recommendation. It was great. The owner greeted us and was so nice. Excellent food and prices! Definitely will be back many times!

Good local grub. The italian food is good for the price. I like the Italian hero "hot" ATW - caution tons of Mayo. The owner Scott is a class act with a heart and soul of gold. Start with a small dish of the marinated green olives :)

One of those places I definitely miss from DeLand. The food is quite good and very reasonably priced, and the owners/staff behind the counter are extremely friendly. Great dining and a great value.

  • Mike D.

About Taco Bell

Taco Bell is a haven for Mexican delicacies such as tacos, quesadillas, burritos, nachos, and other specialty items. Owned by Yum! Brands, Inc. Taco Bell is one of the fastest growing American chains of fast food restaurants. The restaurant operates from 7,072 different locations which are mostly run by independent franchisees and licensees.

The background story of Taco Bell is interesting and inspiring for budding entrepreneurs. The fast-food brand is the brainchild of Glen Bell, who started his first food venture as a hot dog seller in San Bernardino, California. The year was 1948. After witnessing long queues outside a Mexican restaurant called Mitla Café across the street, Bell saw the opportunity and demand for hard-shelled Tacos. He reverse-engineered the recipe and later started selling Tacos and called the venture Taco-Tia.

Later, the name changed from Taco-Tia to El Taco. Eventually, Glen Bell sold the company to his partner and opened the first Taco Bell in Downey in 1962. By 1964, the restaurant also got its first franchise in Torrance. The 100th Taco Bell restaurant was opened by 1965. PepsiCo acquired Taco Bell from Glen Bell in 1978 and the restaurant brand is currently a subsidiary of Yum! Brands which looks after the restaurant business of PepsiCo.
