I don't understand what the fuss is about. The food is inconsistently prepared and just average. Given the good reviews, I've gone back and tried a couple different things just in case I had a fluke bad experience. On those visits: - The waffle fries are excellent (if they are fresh and not overcooked). - They were out of chicken and I ordered the pork which tasted like it had gone bad. I literally ate 2 bites and threw it out. - The pineapple BBQ chicken wrap is good, but could use more filling. I've crossed it off my list of regular spots.

My uncle was in the hospital, my sisters and brothers flew in and stayed at my house so we can all go and visit my uncle together and we got hungry after 4 hours in the hospital and we did not want to eat there hospital food even though the hospital was very nice so we ate pollo tropical everyday for 4 days and the food is just amazing the atmosphere is nice as well totally will be coming back for sure!!

Terrible experience. A Hispanic family was trying to order. However they are unable to since no one in the entire establishment can speak Spanish. Luckily I was with my boyfriend who was able to translate seeing as he's Cuban. The family was grateful but I couldn't help but laugh at the employees. The food was great but the employees were just dumbfounded. Watching them laugh at the awkward encounter just made me very upset to see a group of people who work somewhere aptly named "Pollo Tropical" laugh at the fact that a Hispanic family came in to dine. However none were able to translate and the manager was trying to hide as much as possible. So I'm hoping the hiring manager could somehow find some Spanish speaking individuals or at least teach the employees the menu.. Which is mostly translated for them into Spanish. If you don't know how to translate chicken with rice and beans into Spanish and you work here.. you don't deserve to work here...

We live close by so we are always at this pollo. Service is EXTREMELY SLOW. And our drive thru order has been wrong 3/5 times. Uneducated and careless employees. Not impressed.

This is a very clean, quick chain with good chicken. This location is nice and well kept and always gets my order right. The tropichops are amazing. The pineapple rum sauce is super yummy with chicken.

Let me start by saying I am a fan of Pollo Tropical! The restaurants in Boca Raton and Lighthouse Point/Pompano Beach are great! However, this Pollo Tropical is terrible! First, it is smaller so it feels cramped or confined. Second, the cashiers always come across as extremely unfriendly! I get it isn't the most glamorous job, but say hello, make eye contact, have a nice tone, anything! Third, the kitchen is always completely filled with smoke! I have never seen this in any other Pollo Tropical, it is absolutely dreadful. Fourth, there are ALWAYS little kids in this particular restaurant running around and making noise. It makes the experience rather irksome, but I will give it a pass cause they are just children. Finally and most importantly, the chicken is always undercooked and tasteless. It is astounding, this never happens at any other Pollo Tropical restaurant. I am friends with Garbis the Manager of Boca Raton and Pompano Beach Pollo Tropical Restaurants. He is a good man and does a great job. However, the Deerfield Beach Pollo Tropical is a disaster. DO NO go here and DO NOT waste your money. This place has been reported to the business bureau many times. It is a horror show. Stay far far away!!!

One of the Better pollo tropical location.. We go out of our way to come to this location..we moved away from it so now the closest location to our home is the wiles and state road7 in coconut creek location (worst location run do not pass go bunch of ass clowns running that location).. We bypass the one in coconut creek to go to this location in Deerfield..

Was a great place to eat, Delicious food, and great Tropichops! Wait is delayed, Drive-Thru isn't prepared at night. Thus, asking customer to pull around to wait and beat the timer.

All franchises are not created equally. This PT is a shade above the rest. If you visit during lunch time you will be greeted with an anaconda sized line out of the door. What makes this PT so different? why is the one not like the rest? Thanksgiving sized portions!!! If you are looking for a quick lunch then this is your place. If you are anything like me Tropi Chop will fill you up and leave you with an urge to take a nap under your desk when you get back to work.

We were visiting friends in Deerfield Beach and had an afternoon to do some running around so we stopped in here to have a quick lunch. My expectations were minimal since most 'fast food' is sub-par. I ordered the chicken sandwich with a side of white rice. Let me start by saying that this was one of the best chicken sandwiches that I've ever had. Pure, REAL white meat chicken on a fresh bun with crisp lettuce and ripened tomato and a nice sauce to dress everything up is what I received. The chicken was seasoned great and the sauce just added to the flavor. The chicken was tender and moist, nowhere near dry at all. Perfect little sandwich. The white rice had a little flavor to it too. Wasn't just bland rice. I was surprised by that as well. They have a little condiment bar where you can explore new sauces and toppings. The dining area was clean, the employees were friendly and the prices are no more than you would pay at McDonald's. This is a great place to grab a good, fast meal. I wish they had them in Philly!

one of my first jobs was was choppin' chickens at a pollo tropical. after only a few months there i moved on and promised myself id never eat there again. now that i live in dc i find myself gravitating towards the chain when im in town

My favorite places are a combination of excellent food and good value - and this place meets both standards of excellence. Had fried plaintains, roast chicken and black beans that were amazing. My husband had fantastic chicken soup. One of my friends went here on her birthday - now I know why.

Pollo Tropical is the best fast food you can have. Their grilled chicken is great value & is amazing and it's always fresh.this place certainly beats Boston market chicken which is pretty greasy lately.

I go to different locations and don't always get the same service or quality food. This particular location i was happy with. When I walked in around 2pm, the line was short so I didn't have to wait long to order. My food came out as soon as I walked away from the cashier which was a pleasant surprise. It was hot and fresh. At the soda fountain I was able to select vitamin water instead of the usual soda selection. I like that they give options other than soda and orange or fruit punch. I got a mojo pulled pork tropi chop with yellow rice with vegetables. I added salsa from their condiment table. It was very tasty and enjoyable. I liked this location. It was also clean...

Love the food - and this location is excellent! They're usually busy (especially on Sunday afternoons!!) but I like that about a place - means a lot of people enjoy it. Only problem I've ever had is at the drive through at night - they had trouble getting our order right (we had to go back in because they forgot to give us part of our order), and the girl working the window was clueless about working it.

Some of the best chicken you'll ever eat!!!! I always order the half chicken value meal with rice and beans. It is so filling and so tasty. This doesn't even taste like fast food which is what makes it so good. The fried yuca is really good too. I love the condiment bar with curry sauce and cilantro sauce. Yummy!!!! The establishment is always clean and it always has island music playing while your eating. I definetly recommend eating at Pollo Tropical.

I don't know why I bother to eat here anymore. It takes half an hour just to get to the front of the line, and you're, more often than not, greeted by a cashier with a minimal grasp of the English language. The lines can be avoided by taking the drive-through. However, they tend to get your order wrong and you only realize once you arrive home. The only redeeming factor is that of cheap "heathy" food and a soda fountain. For this order, I asked to dine in, yet I was handed my food to go. I do not recommend this establishment if you are in a hurry.
