Pulled pork and chopped pork on two separate occasions were over smoked and cooked at too high a temperature.

This place has very good BBQ. Me and my wife had the pulled pork BBQ sandwich. Very tender meat, great homemade sauces. My sides were dirty taters and Mac and Cheese, both were great. I also tried the ribs which were very tasty as well. I would recommend this place for BBQ for sure!

What a great place to eat BBQ ! We eat here once a week and love the food. The staff is excellent. The owner is friendly. The cooks do a great job at preparing the food. The place is comfortable with tons of t.v.'s . Great place to meet up with friends and enjoy a very good meal.

Good BBQ - Came in for lunch didn't really know what to expect I was very impressed from the start. Very friendly staff and solid customer service It really exceeded my expectations. Good value for the price. Jumbo Brisket Sandwich - Very tender hand craved nice smoke flavor not over-powering lean and moist very nicely done. Dirty Potatoes - This a great side smothered with onions and cooked perfect tender with a nice texture great flavor. Mac n Cheese - I thought this was excellent served piping hot macaroni cooked firm cheese had a great mild favor not over powering. Sweet Hot BBQ Sauce - This was the only one I tried and it was great not too hot great viscosity solid sauce. They also have the old pellet ice which you don't see much anymore I love this in my drink great for crunching on lol. I am looking forward to returning to try a few other items. I highly recommend you try this place I don't think you will be disappointed.

Yup, good chicken and Good ribs! I'm West Volusia, Porkie's and Brian's does it best, if you don't count the mobile units, Free Will or Alan and Missy. Porkie's atmosphere is generally better, winners in my book.

Went into this thinking the food would be terrible based on what I have read and heard. It honestly wasn't bad for the price. The pulled wasn't as good as the people in location said but the chicken was good as was the Brunswick stew.

If you like your food smoked with a strong taste then this is the place for you. If you're used to sonny's bbq without the strong taste than it isn't for you. It's not that it was bad, it's just we don't like the strong taste.

Saw this place on my way back to disney and was nice inside. The ribs were pretty good and mac and cheese was ok. The sweet potato caserole was good. There barbeque suaces are good with a variety of flavors. Corolina one was really good.

We were craving BBQ and chose Porkies because of the reviews. They didn't let us down, the reviews were right on and the food was delicious. We all even thought that this might become our newest favorite BBQ place since the other one we used to go to just doesn't WOW us any more. If you like BBQ and especially pulled pork, check this place out, I think you'll be pleasantly surprised and satisfied.

Almost made 4 stars! BBQ is my favorite eats! I am very particular in likes and dislikes. My credibility on Q is simple: I smoke something almost every week at my house using my pit or three other Grill/ smokers. I travel a lot and try BBQ EVERYWHERE I GO; from Jax, FL to Seattle, WA. Every major BBQ stronghold, I have either lived or spent a lot of time in the area : Deep South, Carolina, TN, TX, KS, MS, MI. So I am kinda picky, BUT love good Q Had Jumbo Pulled Pork Sadwich, Dirty Taters, Brunswick Stew (ALWAYS TRY WHERE I GO IF OFFERED). Wife, regular same. Kiddo, 1/4 Chicken dark meat, Mac n cheese, Blackeyed peas. Pros: Pork had nice smoke ring, was pulled then choppped, so very hardy, but manageble. Large portion had a Kaiser type roll (very good). Pork was smoked nicely, had deep ring, but not OVER smoked. tasted like oak...smokey, but mild. Did not taste a flavorful rub on pork. Chicken, dark meat. Very moist, mild smoke, skin still had a little snap, and wasn't rubbery. Chicken was moist and tender. Not much seasoning on skin, which I like, but over all good Dirty Taters are southern hash browns on steroids. Diced whole potatoes, seasoned, grilled onions, and cooked to perfection. Great seasoning and flavor. Corn Muffins, tasty, moist, had corn....beyond the cornmeal. Lightly sweet, but not over done..great flavor. Sauces appear to be made in joint.?. Nice variety, but none flipped my whig (I am virtually bald, so no whig, but still no flipping). Sweet, Mild, Hot Sweet, XXX, Carolina (Western, red, vinegar). They had some "side" sauces at counter (OMG, Hot,..so forth). Cons: Black eyed peas, appeared to be the canned variety, but my little kid loved them. (Extra points). Mac n' Cheese...MEH! Brunswick Stew was well,...ummmm not! i think I got a piece of sausage but that was it, had lots of canned tomatoes, and micro diced potatoes, not REALLY Brunswick Stew, more like a soup. To me, me only, a good Brunswick Stew, tells me you are committed to BBQ or seafood, depending on the State and the forte'. Every BBQ joint I have rated excellent has excellent Brunswick Stew. Bottom line? Some of the NASTY reviews here are unwarranted and likely competitors. Staff was very friendly and went above amd beyond to make us happy. Sauces were tasty and portions pretty good (LEFT FULL). they had additional hidden treasures with home made pepper vinegar for greens and addtional "hot" sauces. Prices were great for food served! Give them a try!

We come here every time we are in Deland. Order at the counter but they bring it to your table. I have had all of the meats, cannot chose a favorite. The dirty taters and the sweet potatoes are super good. Great with my wife's food allergies - decent price - clean - family friendly and ice cold beer. Give it a shot - take it with you and you won't have to cook.

Came in on a Monday at 130 and ordered the two meat platter with brisket, ribs, summer slaw, corn bread and mac n cheese. The lady at the register says they don't have brisket. WHAT?!?!?! ISN'T THIS A BBQ PLACE? Couldn't understand how they didn't have any brisket. Settled on the chopped pork. Selection of sauces include sweet, hot, sweet and hot, carolina gold (mustard based) and some super hot sauces. About 10.99 for this platter, if i remember correctly. Added in a drink and a slice of key lime pie, total was approximately 16.50. So I guess it can get kinda pricey for those of you (like me!) who like to eat. I mixed sweetened tea with unsweetened tea and got the perfect ratio. The carolina gold sauce was exactly what i wanted. but each table has a few of their sauces (Excluding the carolina gold for some reason) in case you wanna mix it up a bit. Summer slaw was tangy and not dry. Mac and cheese was standard. The ribs were good - st louis style cut. the cornbread and the chopped pork were the best parts of my plate. i wasn't able to finish everything, so i took the rest home. all in all, the place is good. wish i could've tried their brisket. It's a bit pricey for bbq and it wasn't huge portions. I would eat here again if i was nearby and hungry, but i wouldn't make a trip out there just to go back to this place. it's decked out with alabama roll tide stuff, so if that's your thing you might enjoy this place. but no big TVs to watch the game. good amount of parking. cleanliness isn't bad.

Just another local BBQ joint. Their chicken and salads are really good. Great prices.

I do not regret coming here...GPS could not find the other place I was going to try so I chose Porkies. Best, most juiciest chicken I have EVER had. I ordered the 3 meat combo and got sliced pork and ribs. Pork slices were thick and meaty. I thought the two pieces of ribs they gave me were small at first but they also had a good amount of meat to them and the flavor was excellent I did not even need sauce... Let's talk sauce: They are made in house and the OMG stuff is just that...HOT HOT HOT. Also tried two from the table XXX and sweet hot. I put the sweet hot on my fries instead if ketchup. I came to DeLand for business and now will come back for pleasure... This is father/son place so you know it's good. You have to come and "smell their butts" ... No I am not being nasty ... It's written on their entrance above the door ;O)

Excellent BBQ, with awesome people! When they say they've got super hot sauce, that's what you get! Definitely worth checking out!

While this BBQ joint isn't the best I've ever had, it hits the spot enough when I'm not in the mood to drive an hour and a half to my favorite BBQ restaurant. The décor is fun and the establishment is clean. The meat is tasty and portions are big. The sides are not all that fantastic, but I generally don't go to a BBQ place for the sides. In my humble opinion, if you're in DeLand and looking for some BBQ then Porkies won't be a total let down. It's certainly better than Sonny's, but not the best in Central Florida.

Unfortunately I had a very disappointing meal tonight, the sides were cold and dried out - not to mention small portion. The ribs were super salty and mostly bone. Gotta work on putting out a consistent product.

Had a wonderful meal and experience at Porkies! Service was quick and food was excellent. The pulled pork meat was tender and flavorful. I paired the pork with their sweet BBQ sauce and it was even better. I will be back next time I'm in DeLand

Casual atmosphere with great food and reasonable prices. There are several offerings of food, including vegetables, which should please even picky eaters. Friendly service, too. Even when the parking lot is full and there is a short line of folks waiting to place an order, you will not wait long. The staff works fast.

This is the most disgusting food I've ever had. It's not BBQ. It's overpriced charcoal made by just as disgusting staff who really need a hygiene lesson. They do NOT handle food properly at all from what we seen and they act like they are doing you a favor by helping you. Never again!!!

Don't normally report on these sites, but wanted to share this BBQ place with others. Excellent choices of sides and the meat has the tenderness and taste of what one would expect from a REAL bbq place in the south. I had the ribs and chicken. Very good and recommend to others!!

Price, portions and cleanliness were all on point. The food was really good nothing as a total standout. The pulled pork was all we had from a meat perspective and it was juicy, smoky and served on a large kaiser roll. The sides include many choices, I think the fries were the best, however try the Brunswick stew, short of some salt/pepper the combination of pork, corn, potato, tomato and other bites was pretty good. The desserts we had were the bread pudding according to my buddy was fantastic and he would write home about it... My wife and I shared the Key Lime pie and I have to admit aside from mine, it was excellent. The building looks like an old 7-11and I would qualify as an out of the way place, but they are usually the best. Worth the visit if you are in Deland near Stetson University

Good Ribs the flavor was good but didn't match the sauces they had, and they served it with Texas toast I could have and very possible was bought at Publix and Van decamp Bean and the same for the Potato Salid...
