We came in here today to enjoy some Mediterranean food, we were not disappointed. We came in around 2 p.m. on Monday on a day where most of the shopping joints were closed so it was not very busy. Our waiter, Nembod "Bobby", was very professional and accommodating. He really enhanced our dining experience. We started off with a mezza plate that came with baba ghanoush, hummus, grape leaves and falafel. The baba ganoush and hummus was better than average, we all enjoyed the falafel which was crisp and not oily. The grape leaves had undercooked rice, but was handmade. The entree portion was where we really enjoyed the chef's cooking. A couple of us ordered the mousaka. Although I anticipated the Greek version with bechamel sauce, this tomato based version without bechamel sauce was entirely delightful. The sauce was freshly made and had a very rich texture and flavor and was served over the properly sauteed eggplant and saffron rice. I give this dish 5 stars. The saganaki (fried feta) was enjoyed by my daughter, and the chef prepared a special serving of the mousaka sauce upon request. The cheese was very delicately breaded and perfectly fried. My Father in law ordered the lamb kebab, which was made with quality meat and properly cooked. We had the baklava, and while the servings were generous, It is not the traditional baklava with the pistachio. The table had mixed reviews but his peanut version may be appealing to some. Nevertheless, we had superior service and I have to recommend this place.

Marvelous! Newly remodeled, the service is great, and the food is authentic Mediterranean and perfect! The stuffed grape leaves are to die for, the babaganoosh flavorful but not overpowering, and the lamb kebab sandwich is the best! Also tried the desert, best baklava I've ever had! This is authentic Mediterranean cuisine at its finest! Also, this is on a very scenic sidewalk, with a great view of the people and vehicles of Daytona Beach. Located right across from Halifax Harbor, so great for boaters. The prices are moderate, so go go go! It's a winner!

I would like to say first that the service was excellent. The waiter tried his best to make up for the low quality food. We started our meal with the humus. The humus was bland, it seemed like they put absolutely no seasoning. When we we're about to order, they didn't have half the menu available. The order was wrong for one of us when we received it. My wife's order was bland and sauce tasted like wine was just poured on top of the chicken. When my order was finally brought out correctly the lamb was chewy and tasted like chemicals. I left so disappointed. I gave it 2 stars instead of 1 or 0 simply because of the waiters service.

Had a delicious Mediterranean lunch at Kebabji. Server got my attention when he said the food was made in house. This place cares about its product! Tabbouleh was fresh and full of refreshing mint and parsley flavors. Hummus and Falafel plate was a classic combo - hot falafel fresh from the cooker, a generous portion of creamy hummus topped with olive and oil, served with warm pita. I don't eat much meat, but I grabbed a bite of my husband's gyro. No wonder it was the server's favorite. Yum! Good service, big portions of delicious authentic food, clean setting in hip, historic section, very reasonable prices. How nice to have food that came out of the kitchen, instead out of a can or box. I highly recommend Kebabji.

After work(6 p.m.) I was starving and decided to try this place out. The staff was actually outside the restaurant because their was absolutely no one eating there...I ordered the shish kabob and chicken shish. Let me start of by mentioning my to-go order had minimal amount of food.. The rice tasted OLD, chicken was plain. It's upsetting that this place represents "Mediterranean food." Unfortunately, this is not what you will find here..

Waited for one and half hour later, still NO food, just salads that came with our entree on a Saturday night. Servers seemed very unorganized. Not that busy, probably about thirty people in the restaurant right now. Our server offered desserts on the house, and later informed us she is paying for it. Trying to make us feel bad? She probably forgot to put the order in. She was nice, but long wait for the food. Is it worth the wait?

I'm a big fan of local, owner-run restaurants. As such, I really want to give Kebabji a chance. I've had several meals here, and this is what I think: The restaurant is in a premier spot in downtown Daytona. The interior is cavernous and would immensely benefit from some dividers to help with the mess-hall atmosphere. Ambiance is a big part of the dining experience, and this restaurant would benefit from some. The outside seating is fun if the weather permits. The food: The falafel are very good, as is the accompanying garlic sauce. Sometimes they are hot, sometimes they're not. I've had the dolmades - also good, though the filling could have a little more oomph - some raisins and pine nuts - along those lines. The hummus and baba ganoush are both very good, as well as the tzadziki. The pita could be served warm. I'm not a fan of the cold/stiff version. I've had excellent baklava and less excellent baklava - so there seems to be a consistency problem. Same with the Turkish coffee - once great, once not-so-great. I've tried the moussaka, which oddly is served with a big pile of rice. It reminded me more of ratatouille, though the flavors were good. The beef and lamb are both served with a lot of rice that has not received any love. That could be easily remedied. So in toto - the food is overall good, but could stand some attention to detail and would benefit from more consistency. The service: Overall friendly people there. But here, too, the service has been inconsistent. Most noticeably when I made a reservation for 18 people and the restaurant had not set up when I came 20 minutes earlier to check in. Also, we had one server, so there were some delays with food delivery, paying of checks, etc. However, the service was mostly efficient. Overall - This restaurant needs some work on all levels, but it has good basics. I would love to see it succeed and get more patronage. My suggestion: fix up the space, spice your rice, turn out consistent food and service, and keep going!

If you are a fan of Mediterranean food, don't miss Kebabji. We loved the hummus, babagan., falafel appetizer. The flounder was delicious as was the chicken and lamb kabobs. Overall very good.... Added to our list of best restaurants around town.

Fantastic food, environment and service! To start, the grape leaves and babaganoosh are home made and to die for! The outdoor seating is great for people watching, and you see some nice cars and motor cycles if that's what you're interested in. (My brother and dad appreciated that aspect). The chicken shawarma wrap is perfectly spiced and the pita bread is very fresh and authentic. But don't leave until you try the baklava... sometimes I dream about it. I cant wait to visit again, next time I'll have to catch the belly dancers. Extremely pleased with our experience.
