Party of 5 with 4 steak eaters and 1 non (me). The steak eaters give the food a 5 but the service a 3. I gave the food and the service a 2. Wait staff was slow and and not knowledgable about their menu. Several times I had to pour my own wine and bottled water. Not a problem, but at these prices, I expect better. As they cleared courses, they would reach over someone to remove the other persons plate. More training was needed. Each of the steaks were cooked perfect according to my dinner mates and tasted excellent. I ordered the grouper and it was bland at best. The fresh veggies were over cooked and mushy. The first two bottles of wine I selected were not in stock. The cesar salad was dripping in dressing, and the "extra" anchovies I asked for amounted to a total of 2. Bottom line - this is a steak house so if you don't mind a little bad service - go for a great steak. If you are looking for fresh fish you can do much better elsewhere.

Food was fabulous - great happy hour specials - martinis were good...its a franchise but it was the best Daytona had to offer since were in harley davis land. Little pricey for what you get but the ambiance makes it worth it.

If you wish to waste your money at an overpriced steak house this is it. The food is below average and the price is above average. My steak was ordered medium rare and came to the table well done...the waiter asked why I did not say anything before the end of the meal. I was entertaining clients and actually had quietly mentioned this to the first waiter who said..."see what it looks like in the center." Now people if we are paying $55 for a NY strip ( only no sides) Do I REALLY need to worry that they know how to cook a steak...Did I mention this IS a steak house ...and the waiters were all to eager to push sides and sauces on the table...don't go - the experience was very aggravating and the bill just really added salt to my wound ( and the salt would be better served on their food)

Traveling to FL on business for 5 weeks and drove down to Daytona Beach from Palm Coast. Wanted to ensure we had a good dinner so we stopped by Hyde park Steakhouse. The restaurant has a prime location that was beachfront, located inside the Hilton hotel. We had window seat with nice ocean views, and it was great. Service was very warm and friendly. Their menu was what you would expect at any steakhouse. Prices were extremely reasonable, definitely cheaper than other places I've been. I did the early dinner menu for $19.90 and got to choose lobster bisque (which was okay), entree (crab cakes, which were okay), and any side dish (potato au gratin, a bit too creamy for me). I'm a huge steakhouse fan but I actually didn't think Hyde stood out from the others I've been to. I still recommend dining here if you're in Daytona. After walking around the main street area, nothing else looked as appetizing. The restaurant was very nice, friendly, and had great service so that's why I am giving it a 3 star.

My vegetarian girlfriend and I went here while I was on a business trip, but let me stress that this is a steakhouse and your selection as a vegetarian is limited to eating side dishes or a salad. I had an excellent steak that was topped with blue cheese and we shared a side of Potatoes Gruyère Gratin. I also decided to stay for dessert and had coffee and key lime pie. Both were excellent. The meal was excellent, but the service is what completed the package. Our waiter was excellent and attentive. Although Hyde Park Prime Steakhouse allows for casual dress (and believe me I dress casually), our waiter carried himself as though formal wear was required. I was thoroughly impressed by his professionalism, and I plan on eating there again the next time I'm staying at the Hilton.

This is the best of the restaurants in the Hilton. The food is good and the service is excellent. There is little else of this level in the area.

I just can't bring myself to like this place. The atmosphere is snooty, the prices are high, and in three visits the food has been consistently marginal. I have had steak, lamb, and seared ahi tuna. None was anything I would go out of my way to try, and since I was staying in the hotel and on an expense account, it was actually going out of my way to NOT eat there.

Hyde Park is a franchise. The atmosphere of the Daytona Beach location kind of reeks of the desperation of a Nouveau riche social climber. Just like Daytona Beach, it is a redneck that desperately wants to be more, but never will. I have expensive prices and fancy food. Look at me. The food is not horrible, but it does not warrant the prices charged. I had the grouper with mashed potatoes and asparagus. A perfectly fine dish, but you can get that same dish, at much better restaurants, at much better prices. Daytona does not have the wage base to support this kind of place. It is a good try, but don't be surprised if it no longer exists in 2012.

Had a great dinner here with friends. The service was good, the food was good...we left feeling stuffed, but satisfied. It would have been expensive, but luckily we had received a $100 gift card which paid for about half of our bill. The restaurant was pretty packed, but it was a delicious meal and next time I am in Daytona, I will go back.

Want steak and a stiff pour in Daytona? Come here - food was delicious and the drinks, well, let's just say a hearty drink goes well with great steak. Service was great and I was especially impressed with the portions. We both ordered the prix fixe dinner and assumed portions would be smaller than they actually were. After that meal, my friend and I were so full and content we skipped the smores offered at our hotel. To put this in context, passing up chocolate to me is like saying no to money, it's just not done!

We went here last night. It is decorated nicely a steak house feeling. The staff were great especially our waiter really amazing. But the food was 'off'. They gave us for free a tiny piece each of seared tuna which had no flavor but the little bit of microgreens on the plate were really old and rotten. The chicken milanese was horrible, like the worst quality chicken possible, like you would buy at Dollar Tree, (yes they sell chicken), it was watery, and tasteless. My wedge, was watery too. So all and all it was not what you would expect. I have been a couple years ago and really enjoyed it so it could have been an 'off' night?!

Hyde Park-Daytona is still good... but no longer exceptional. Hyde Park operates a chain of restaurants so this guarantees some degree of consistency but constant changes in staff (including Chef Robert) have weakened the Daytona outlet. Sadly, this restaurant is no longer on par with Morton's, Del Frisco's, Capital Grill and the other great steak and seafood brands.

An ok upper end steak/seafood place. Decor is the best in the hotel, very modern. Service is good, waiter was very knowledgeable. My coworker ordered the NY strip which she loved. Me, nothing was really great here for a vegetarian and they seemed extremely confused w/me ordering mac 'n cheese w/broccoli. They instead tried to convince me to add lobster. When the food came they were further confused about my order. I think they may not have ever seen a real live vegetarian. The real reason why I give this a low review is because early in the week they were very rude and would not let people from our company dine here because we were dressed in jeans. That was interesting to me since you are in the middle of bike week but turn away bikers. We warned them they were making a big mistake since many people with lots of money then will not be spending their money here.... Interestingly enough a few days later we saw our people in there with jeans so I guess they lowered their standards. Since they lowered their standards I loved that they seated a woman wearing leather chaps w/only her panties underneath while we were there. That had to just kill them!

On a recent trip to Daytona my friend and I gave Hyde Park a second chance. we ate at the bar. The service was fabulous, the bread basket was great and the steaks were awesome!!! I had the steak johnson - which is a NY Strip covered with mushrooms and garlic. Yum.

For a $47 steak, I expect a high level of service. We were treated like we were at Fridays or Applebys. The server was rude, slow and mostly disinterested in serving us. The steak and fish (I had Halibut) was as good as you'd expect here, but the side items were pedestrian. The broccoli was under-cooked (like raw) and the carrots were overcooked (like carrot mush). We had the calamari app (just ok) and skipped dessert. Not worth the unbelievably high price markups they take on the food.

    (1)
  • Jeff P.

Overpriced. Decent steaks. Side dishes are ala cart. Drinks are really good. Service is questionable....weird at best. Haven't been to a Hyde Park since I was back in Ohio, a long time ago. But, I hope it's a better value back there.

Hands down one of the best high-end restaurants available in Daytona. Service is priority #1 with the bar staff (Kayla, Todd, and Brendan among my faves when I come into town). don't miss the prawn cocktail or the calamari as appetizers. Some of the best steak I've ever had, and the service just as good (which in my opinion is just as important as the food to make the experience). I tend to stay away during their happy hour as people crowd in for the $5 martini's and it gets a little nuts.

Great service, great food. Its a steakhouse but the fresh fish selection and scallops are fabulous. Save room for dessert, they are all made in house.

Sooo this was the highlight of the vacay (besides laying out by the pool or beach reading a book ) =0) Man is there filet just AWESOME! With a side of garlic mashed potatoes? Forget about it! Had a glass of Deinhard Riesling and it was very very tasty. From Germany. My friend had the filet and shrimp and really enjoyed it as well. Our server couldn't be more nicer or helpful especially since I think we arrived close to closing time. It seems they have multiple locations across the states. The one in Daytona is connected to the Hilton hotel so if you ever see one do stop in. Guaranteed you won't be dissapointed.

I only review if a place is really good or really bad. Luckily for steak lovers this place gets a great review. In a party of 5, 4 of us got the filet and all of us gave our dinner and sides a 10. THe lone fish dinner gave their meal just an ok. (grouper just ok and Caesar salad too much dressing and not flavorful enough). That was alittle disappointing since a great restaurant should perfect all their dishes. The service was ok not as attentive as it should be at this level and those couple things for me give it 4 stars. Definitely come for the steaks and nice atmosphere!

I debated between 3 and 4 stars. If I had an option of 3.5, I probably would choose 3.5. Service is "very" professional but relatively slow. Food was good but not exceptional. Price was expensive for the quality of food they offered. Ambiance reminded me of Ruth's Chris Steak House but unfortunately, I would choose Ruth's Chris Steak House if I were to choose between them.

Four of us had dinner at Hyde Park last night - had reservations for a month, and were really looking forward to it. It was a very disappointing experience. The wait staff was delightful, and the service stellar, but the food fell far short of what we had been led to expect. The steaks were over cooked (ordered medium rare, but not even a bit of pink was to be found). The crab cakes didn't taste like they were made from crab at all - more like tuna. The bread was delicious though, as were the scallops and lobster bisque. I wouldn't take a chance on it again, which is a shame, we were hoping to make it a regular outing.

We live locally and planned a dinner at Hyde Park Prime Steakhouse last night. This wasn't our first visit to this establishment but it seems they've gone downhill. When we got there we requested a table or a booth for 2. We were told by the hostess that there is a 45 minute wait. No problem since the restaurant appeared crowded. So, we had a drink at the bar. However, we discovered from our view from the bar to the tables, that one-third of the tables were actually empty in the restaurant! So, after waiting 30 minutes, we asked the hostess if there was a problem since there are so many open tables. She replied, oh, you are right! We just didn't want to overwork the kitchen or our staff! That seemed just plain stupid to us. Anyway, we were finally seated and placed our ordered. The Lobster Bisque was floury to say the least and there was absolutely NO lobster in it, It looked like Lobster Bisque but, it was tasteless. The aged rib eye ($59) was an ok steak (nothing to hurry back for) and certainly not $59 worth. I would say at best the steak was a $35-$40 steak. It was poorly seasoned and a bit tough. Besides that, the service was sporadic! We had to request our waitress from other waitresses passing by at least two or three times. We even had to ask for the bread and butter that everyone else had on their table but not ours. After dinner we ordered cappuccino for dessert. We waited about 20 minutes for it and it was served cold. We tracked down the waitress again and she said there was a problem with the cappuccino machine. We asked if she could please try again. The 2nd cup came out hot. Lastly, we had to search again for our waitress to get the check. Overall, the restaurant and staff are just over pretentious....and the food, I've experienced better for the price. What could be a 5 star restaurant is only a 2 star restaurant with 5 star prices! I'm not sure I'll make my way back again! Can you imagine how it is during the busy season??

For the Daytona area (which is kinda redneck) this place is really nice, upscale and high class. The chefs/servers are very well trained and knowledgable. The view is awesome (except from this little double table they stick two couples way too close - crazy). The food is very good but the prices are too high to be honest. My $59 steak was good but can have equal for less than half that price. But the apps and a la carte were amazing. The Lobster Mac n cheese was a 10! Worth a visit. But need to budget around it. Diner for 2 with wine and desert could be a $300 meal.

My boyfriend and I happened to stumble upon this place while searching on Yelp for an upscale restaurant to dine at. We had no idea what we were in for! The service was absolutely incredible, only topped off by the juiciest, most delicious steaks and generous portions of sides (which were also delicious). The wine that we had was also very reasonably priced for an upscale restaurant (only 9 dollars per glass). Overall, it was a fabulous experience and I would recommend it to everybody.

Entirely overpriced for the quality. We were at Hyde for a business meeting, and our table ordered steak and fish entrees, along with salads to accompany. The chopped salad is probably their worst dish on the menu. Imagine cheap, watery iceberg lettuce, doused in coleslaw dressing, with tiny bits of flavorless roma tomatoes, very little crumbled bacon, and at least 3/4 of a cup of mild cheddar cheese dumped on top. Highly disappointed from the price tag on the dish. The fish arrived with what was essentially a garnish as a vegetable. Why a restaurant that charges this much can't even appropriately plate with affordable, seasonal vegetables is beyond me. Salmon was well cooked, but their lemon butter sauce was mainly butter-leaving a greasy, unattractive ring on the plate. Steak was cooked according to order, but was again accompanied by a single, puny piece of rappini (broccoli rabe) as a 'garnish side'. Other entrees followed the same suit-covered in butter, small, and certainly underwhelming. Dessert was a creme brulee-ordered only by one at the table, as the rest of us were already feeling ill from the amount of fat and mayonnaise in the salad. Unlike the entrees, this could have fed four persons, easily. The creme brulee was an appropriate texture, but lacking in flavor. A bit of vanilla would have helped round it out, but alas, that's probably too expensive for Hyde to buy. Service was adequate, but did not seem highly trained or skilled in white glove/French service-what you'd expect at a high end steakhouse. Final word: avoid Hyde unless you're spending other people's money, and don't care what you're eating. If you want good food, there are a lot better restaurants in Daytona Beach to try.

When I ordered their $64 26oz bone-in ribeye they asked what kind of sauce I want with it. I told them if it needs sauce I don't want it. They assured me it wasn't necessary. Well, 3.5 out of 5. It tasted and cooked like roast beef. I should've gone Chilean sea bass. Everything else was great. The service was great. The special seafood platter app was one of the best I ever had. I would come here again...just not ordering the steak! #daytona #daytonabeach

My husband and I came here for our 6th wedding anniversary and our experience was amazing! From the moment we walked in we felt welcomed and that everyone was willing to ensure our dining experience was perfect. We ordered a bottle of Merlot and the lobster bisque and the steakhouse chop salad to start. The salad was huge and both were delicious. We then ordered the petite filet mignon and asparagus to share. Again, everything was perfectly cooked and delicious! To top of the evening they gave us a card signed by the entire waitstaff and a dessert. It was a lovely night and a wonderful evening!

This was the best meal we had in Daytona and the pricing to go with it. It's all a-la-carte. Reminds me a bit of Flemings in uptown Charlotte. We sat at the bar and the bartender was very nice and helpful. I had the Steak Danica, a small filet with onion strings. I get it as rare as possible and it was perfect and a great piece of steak. D got the Chicken Milanese which was really cooked to perfection and juice and plenty of it. We added the corn with it which was sweet kernels and cream and some delicious seasoning, and the potatoes au-gratin - which I'm not a fan of potatoes, but they were good. I'd definitely recommend it as fine dining in Daytona proper is hard to find.

The worst of all was the manager. This was our second visit. First time was absolutely fine. Tonight, after waiting for more than an hour for the food we were disgusted and walked out. The reservation was at 8 o'clock. We ordered food at 8:15-20. At 9 the server says the baked potatoes are not ready. So we said just switch it to French fries. 2 minutes later another server brings a huge cone holder full of French fries. At 9:30 after smelling the fries for half an hour or more we notice other tables where people came after us are finishing. We have no food. My husband who gave himself insulin and only preventing a low blood sugar coma with bread went to talk with the manager quietly. Obviously the manager wants to make a scene and they come back to the table. Just then the food comes brought by another server except the side dishes. But we are just so insulted at this point. The manager said "I don't understand why you are not eating. " "well, I'm sorry you have to go hungry." Those are not the things you say to unsatisfied customers. All this time the server has disappeared. We were too nice to just leave offering to pay with the insults and attitude we received from the manager. The original server didn't even come for explanation. It really was supposed to be a nice celebration with family and was so ruined by unqualified people. Such a shame.

"Where's the Beef?" I've had much bigger and better steaks for way less money. Our server was nice but very swamped with business, although he did remember it was my mom's birthday and brought her a complimentary dessert; however, the entrees are very expensive and everything is a la carte. The location is nice, right inside the Hilton with windows overlooking the Atlantic, and the décor was well done in dark wood with nice table settings but man I was unimpressed with my 18oz Kansas City bone-in strip. It was rather meager looking and I couldn't really taste much except charcoal despite the fact it was cooked the way I asked--medium. Very "juiceless" is a way you could describe it, I guess. I had it with a Caesar salad that had way too much dressing on it as well. Sigh. My mother and father each had a wedge salad which was pretty large and mom went with a petite filet(8oz) and dad went with a 14oz filet which he said he liked along with a plate of vegetables. I didn't mention anything about not liking my meal since it was my mom's birthday and didn't want to spoil the mood but for the three of us the bill was $193 not including tip. Ouch. Average steak prices were close to fifty bucks each. They have a great wine selection but a poor one for beer--less than ten different types including bottled. All in all the view and ambiance is nice but I've had way better steaks for the same money and less. I doubt I will ever go back.

Love the prime steaks, I had the 40day dry aged New York strip cooked rare, and it was perfect. the sides are huge and the garlic mashed potatoes are very good. I would recommend them carrying more prime cuts however, the only cut they offered was the strip being out of the filet. other than that service was spot on and we sat out on the deck with local beach people suppling the entertainment.

Sat at the bar for a nice dinner. Initially I wanted to have a steak, their crab cakes, and desert. However, I couldn't make it that far. The chop salad is the best!! After the salad, I wanted nothing more... This house chop salad had everything and it was HUGE. Since I've had their steaks and crab cakes before, I decided to have more drinks and just enjoy conversations with perfect strangers.

The food was actually good but not good enough for the price they charge.. The waiter was good. BUT the greetings girl was extremely rude, kept hanging up on my face when I called several times and when we finally showed up, and asked her for the restroom she told us to go somewhere really far in the hotel instead of in the restaurant. And when complained to the manager, he didn't handle it very well.. Minus three stars for bad service and ridiculous prices for what they offer..

Excellent. We have a home in Ormond Beach, so we fly down a few times a year (we live in PA), and we make a point to eat here every time. The food is delicious and the service is impeccable. Definitely our favorite Daytona dinner spot. My husband jokes that I'm difficult to please, but Hyde park never disappoints. :)

Had a recent corporate meal here in the back private dinning room. Of course the service was fantastic and the drinks were great. The food was as I remembered it before from past meals. OK for the steaks (small for the cost) and very nice for the seafood. We have also sat out side during wings and Waves and really enjoyed ourselves and its location. One great thing is to eat here for Ocean center and Peabody events. Valet parking is included and then you can walk back over and have A drink in the bar before getting the car and driving home.

I was staying at the HIlton Daytona Shores and saw this steakhouse in the hotel. I know of the one in Akron, OH and that place was really good, so I gave this a shot. A bit pricey but solid steakhouse in the league of Morton's, Ruths Chris, etc. Ribeye was superb although the cut I had was a bit too marbled for my tastes. Very good service but laid back like you expect down here at the beach...

  • Chris F.

Great food. The service was great. We went early in the day (5pm) when dinner was just beginning to be served. I got the ribeye which was a little on the expensive side. The reason I gave it a 4 star instead of a 5 star is that I had to wait several times for a refill. I felt like we were the unwanted table because we had young children. Overall though the food was excellent. Steak was tender and delicious. The wedge salad had an amazing dressing and the portions were large. Price was high but a good experience overall.

We recently dined here for our 20th anniversary dinner as we were in town for a few days. I started with the wedge said which was superb and then ordered the Danica/ribeye 7oz (very tender) and my husband started with the Lobster Bisque (which he said was great) and then ordered the Chicken Parmesan (4 pieces of chicken). The food was all cooked to our liking and the service was wonderful, what one would expect from a fine dining establishment. Christopher and Austin were our waiters on this evening and were very attentive to our needs. The atmosphere was great and the view overlooking the water was very relaxing. A bit pricey but no more than other fine dining establishments.

Reservation for Father's Day. Had good meal and great service but would agree that the prices are kind of high and the quality of NYstrips are better at other steakhouses such as Ruths Crist. Want to warn everyone to thoroughly check your bill especially if you have ordered drinks or have ordered a number of sides. We were charged for two glasses of wine that we did not order and neglected to check our bill over carefully. Contacted the manager the next day and he could not tell us how or why this happened. Still waiting to see if they refund or comp us for the $22.25 worth of wine we did not order or drink.

I was very happy with the service from our wait staff. But I must say when I walked in the the male Greeter treated us like we didn't belong there. It was embarrassing to go in there with my two kids and my wife on our 20 anniversary because they felt the same feeling that the male greeter treated us like we shouldn't be in this place. I don't understand why he felt he needed to treat us this way. But I do believe he had a thought about us as if we were not able to afford where we were coming to have dinner.

Right through the Hilton's front entrance. Expensive but delicious. Well worth it. We had a calamari app, a porter house, filet mignon, garlic whipped potatoes, asparagus and two beers and two wines. Beer prices were reasonable, wine glass was at least $10 for a very strict pour. Calamari was delicious - Thai chili like sauce. Sides were definitely enough for two to share. We had two servers which was kind of neat/helpful and even the manager came over to see how we were doing and if we needed anything. We went early so it was quiet and fairly empty.

Even when I eat in the main dining room, I always order the lobster man n' cheese from the bar menu. It's made with penne, carmelized onion and breadcrumbs for crunch and it is out of this world flavor wise. The restaurant itself is not over impressive, typical decor for a steakhouse in a hotel kind of thing. I do wish they'd do something a little more adventurous with the side options. Kind of a snooze if you ask me. Maybe less potato options and something a little more festive.

By FAR my favorite place to dine in the area. The cocktails are perfect and made extremely well. In fact, the cocktails at Hyde Park have become the standard for which I judge most other cocktails. Martini glasses are chilled, fresh juice utilized, just wonderful. If you catch happy hour, it is a true bargain for such a quality drink. Not to mention their early bird specials which are phenomenally priced as well as their land and sea combination on the regular dinner menu. Have ordered the filet, lamb, chilled seafood tower, lobster bisque soup, various salads and deserts, creamed spinach, and the gruyere potatoes au gratin are to die for. The crab cake is also simply spectacular and a must have. I don't believe you can go wrong here no matter what you order. But this is a steakhouse and I would recommend the filet without question. It is not only the food that brings me back but the impeccable service. Every time I visit this restaurant, the service is on point. Very professional and always well done. It is quiet, the views are lovely, whether inside or enjoying the patio. I always look forward to dining at Hyde Park when I am in town. Highly recommend.
