Only reason I am rating this 1 star is for the 1 employee that made an effort to make sure we were taken care of. Walked in and sat down. Everyone looked at us and left us sitting there. 3 more groups came in after us and got immediate attention. The red (actually orange) haired employee was the rudest one of them all. The food wasn't anything special. Marian's Bagel Host is by far much better in food and service. I will never eat there again!

Just okay. Nothing fantastic, but not that bad. All in all a tepid review. This is no Einstein's bagels or Brooklyn Water Bagels. The bagels just don't have that fresh quality to them. But They weren't stale or rock hard as some of the other reviews purported, so maybe they've been trying to work on improving their product. My husband and I can't comment too much on the plating or service, since we got a handful of bagels to go. I will say that I think they should expand their bagel types & that they should mix their walnut raisin spread a bit better. It looked a bit scary to me because there was white spots in the spread...but I realized it was just globs of plain cream cheese not mixed in very well within the walnut/raisin spread. Made it look a little unappetizing in my opinion. Price wasn't bad, but I don't think this will be a normal stop for us. We'll probably try some more bagel shops before we settle on becoming regulars anywhere.

Ducked in with Marnie the biz partner in the 'tweener time betwixt breakfast and lunch. I enjoyed a Grilled Cheese with Tomato and Bacon and it was delish. Large O.J., too. The place is big and in a lively plaza. The food was a tad better than average and our server was pleasant and efficient. The plating of my meal was lazy and not well thought out. See photo. Lacking plating pride, certainly. The physical plant is terrible. There is old paneling and evidence of scuffs, scratches, and dilapidation, degradation, and disrepair at every turn. The aesthetics are horrible, all the way through to the bathrooms. Eeek. Time to fix the place up. The way your "restaurant" looks is shameful, embarrassing, and lacking pride of ownership and infers poor quality through to the consumables. Good luck. S

Service is OKAY... Food is OKAY... Portions and price are good... Just personally HATE eating off of plastic plates and cups

This bagel shop is horrible; period. Let me explain. I was in the mood for a bagel on the way to work (I work in Plantation and was in the area), so I stopped here. Upon entering, I noticed many senior citizens enjoying their food (nothing wrong with that!). I just asked the woman for an everything with cream cheese. She said that they only had wheat everything and would check. After a few minutes of 'checking', she said they had them in the back (I am not sure how long it takes to check for an everything bagel, but I was already nervous). Where was my bagel found?! I paid my $2.12 donation and got to my office, set up my coffee and was psyched to have a nice bagel. Well, this has got to be one of the worst mass manufactured bagels (I am serious here -- I wonder if they purchase them from a vendor that sells to Wal Mart of Publix). Stale, dry and I had a hard time finding my cream cheese -- it was literally a thin (probably half a TEA spoon) wiped on the bagel. Mostly stale bread, I tossed the bagel in my office trash and wrote this review. I will never go back there and don't know how in the world they stay in business. If there was a website, I'd contact them and offer advice but there isn't. Next, time, I go to Publix for a bagel and enjoy in the best of the worst bagels in South Florida. Oh, I just remembered there was NO aroma of freshly baked bagels, so my suspicion is spot on I'm sure -- purchased from a vendor and delivered every OTHER day. YOu've been warned.

Been coming here for years.. Today was very disappointing ...the waitress took our order, we waited over 30 minutes for our meal, she brought out my burnt patty melt & my friends were waiting for there eggs & pancakes. Hmmm.. You think the eggs would have been finished first.. My patty melt was awful so I sent it back.. I orderd the egg salad platter.. 10 minutes later I got my food. It was a bagel with egg salad on it, no lettuce or tomato. Needless to say I was not happy & won't be going back..

I've been to PI Bagel 3 times in the last month: once with some friends visiting from out of town, once to purchase bagels for a work related function at 6am and the third is right now. I was too lazy to cook for myself. The service is always top notch with just the right balance of sass and care. Your coffee cup never gets gets empty. The coffee itself is reliably great diner coffee. Not the kind you could stand your spoon up in, but mellow isn't bad on occasion. The bagels are really good and there are billions upon billions of other menu choices. I'm going to keep coming back. Must. Essential. Great food and good times.

I cant figure out how others set their standards? If I compared this place to a 5 star black tie restaurant- it would fail miserably. If you want a quick breakfast- on the cheep, this is the place to go. Fast and friendly! No pretenses in this local bagel shop. Also it was just sold so it's still in a sort of transitional state. I just hope they don't start wearing black ties, or I'm gone!

New to the area, we went to breakfast today. It looks like every other bagel place inside in every other strip mall area, but the service was great (Bobbie was our server) and the food was pretty good. Standard breakfast fare, with some good daily specials before 11 am. I had the 2-2-2 which was 2 eggs, 2 bacon or sausage (links or patties) and 2 pancakes or french toast for $5.05 Scrambled eggs were a bit overcooked, but good, sausage good and pancakes good. The french toast option is made with Texas Toast. Comments from others - The grits were good, bacon good, oatmeal good (needed salt but no one cooks it with salt due to dietary concerns of customers). Fast refills on water, soda and coffee. My one complaint? The bagels aren't that good. They are very dense and heavy and not made the NY way. Oh well. I have other places I love bagels at so wil have to go there is that is what I am craving. They have a good breakfast/ lunch menu variety and I will definitely be back to try more breakfast and lunch things. It does look like they have good deli sandwichs in addition to the normal grilled things. The owner was at the cashier and very friendly. I did see single customers sitting at the 2 chair tables which are small, but everyone seemed fine. This place has been open for 13 years (per the info on the door) and there seems to be regulars like our old bagel place in Margate. I will definitely go back again and see if it keeps the same level of service and quality. I just won't order a bagel :)

After a horrible experience at Kristofs cafe walked a few doors down to pine island bagel. Good breakfast for a cheap price... Not the best not the worst
(3)Morris M.
Good enough for a quick breakfast, but certainly not the nicest atmosphere.

This place has been here for years. It was always dirty looking and dated. Food wasn't bad. W e saw a sign "UNDER NEW MANAGEMENT" and thought great maybe the new owners cleaned up the place. WRONG!!! The place is still nasty and dirty. Nothing has changed. Even the heath inspection report in Jan'13 had 17 violation. This place needs to close and remodeled.
