Giovanni’s Pizza & Subs Menu

Sorry, We are updating this restaurant menu details.

Very friendly and accommodating staff. We stopped in with a party of 10 and they were more than happy to put up with our loud, crazy bunch. Pizza was very good and the place was very clean.

Never have had a bad experience here! The workers are always friendly, every pizza or sub is made to order and the garlic knots are some of the best! I love their buffalo wings, and they give you a big container of ranch or blue cheese! My only complaint? The meat lover's pizza is hard to hold because of all the toppings!

Called and they hung up, called back ordered they hung up, called again and they hung up without completing the order. Can't figure out HOW they can be in business when they can't even figure out how to work their phone. Spent our money someplace else. I waited a week to post this just to be sure I wasn't just "angry" posting and after a week decided I needed to post because bad service is bad service and 3 times in a row was unexscusable.

I'm kind of surprised the reviews are this good. I mean, it's a decent place, but the food is just mediocre. My workplace orders from here pretty regularly, and I've never had anything that's just knocked my socks off. The best thing they offer (that I've had) is the garlic knots. The subs are alright. The meatballs are usually undercooked... And the sauces are kind of bland, but usually with some salt and seasonings it's more than fixable. It's not a bad place to eat, but I wouldn't be expecting five star food.

The pizza was VERY subpar. When my gang only eats 1 piece each, you really know it's not good. The greek salads were even more disappointing. They were small for $6.99 each and just lettuce, sliced cucumbers, black olives, tomatoes, & feta cheese with a very cheap tasting very Italian ie not greek dressing. They were plain horrible. I have to say the garlic knots were very good and a bargain at $3.99. We wasted $34 and I'm going to throw a bunch of inedible pizza away :(

We ordered cheese pizza for the kids and my wife and I had the Italian Stromboli. Everything came out looking amazing and tasted great. I would definitely come back next time I am in Orlando

Great Subs, nice size portions. I loved the way they prepared the bread. I also had Tiramisu, which was excellent.

  • Jonathan V.

Ordered a pepperoni, onion and mushroom pizza. And I hate to say it, but it was just okay. After reading all the great reviews, I was expecting a little more. Also got some garlic knots, and they were really good. Not the best garlic knots I've had, but very good. The bread was very soft, and for the price, it was a great deal.

This is just a whole in the wall place that makes awesome pizza and subs. We have been driving past it for several months and we finally stopped by last month and it has become one of our favorites every time we drive to Orlando Don't expect nothing fancy, but the owner gives you great service and makes a mean pizza and Stromboli

Good pizza and wings, good service. Not as good as buffalo, ny pizza and wings.. But a close second! Try em out

This is the ONLY place for great pizza around this area. Prices are extremely reasonable. Love the garlic knots. 1 Jumbo pizza and garlic knots satisfied 3 teenage boys! Servings are huge!! You need to try this place. For our family - it's the only place for great pizza.

  • Rob P.

Wow. My family and I have absolutely no idea what the fuss is about this place. And it's not anything about thin vs thick vs deep dish. Had garlic knots. Entire order was burned on the bottom. None of the kids could get thru the butter drenching on the knots. None liked the taste. And cold marinara sauce ? Sauce was runny and with little spice. Had large meat pizza and a Stromboli. None of us liked the crust flavor. Seriously... folks thought that Hungry Howies tasted better.

Family owned, fresh salads, fresh pizza, great subs, any footlong sub for just $ 6.00 Pizza by the slice, calzones is the biggest you ever seen.

Good gyros! I know! It's weird to have gyros at a pizza & pasta place but it was good! Ordered it 2 days in a row. My husband also said their pizza is good!

Best steak sandwich in the area. It's the bread. Owners are nice and friendly. You can't beat the prices on specials. Quick, hot and delicious. Yeah we'll be back.

I wasn't expecting to find good pizza where I lived so this was a pleasant surprise. We ordered the white pizza with chicken. The balance of cheese, garlic and chicken was just right.

So me and my girlfriend decided to try this highly rated pizza place that every Yelper has recommended. At first I was a little hesitant because I am from NY and I have yet to still find a good pizza place in FL. SO we walk in and it had this homey southern feel to it which was cool. They have TV screens every where and good country music in the background. We ordered a medium pie with 2 toppings, olives and pepperoni. As we were placing our order the guy tells us "why don't you order a large you pay less and can get 3 toppings!" I was like OK great! I was very impress because usually food places don't cut you any breaks. SO we changed it to a large with olives, pepperoni and spinach. We sat and didn't wait long at all the pizza came out very quickly! It was soooo GOOD! but what I loved the most is the great customer service that you receive at Giovanni's Pizza & Subs! They come back and ask how you are doling if it all taste good which again usually places don't care after you pay. I recommend this place and I will definetly be going back for more pizza!!!

Eh, it's ok. If you want something a little better than the traditional pizza chains and want to support a local business then you can go here. We had a sausage mushroom pizza and an order of boneless wings. The toppings on the pizza were good and the sauce/cheese was good, but I did not like the crust. It reminded me of Dominoes original crust before they changed it a couple of years ago. The boneless wings were better than the chain pizza places, but not up to the level of a Wing Stop or BW3's. I'm actually fine with that because they are a pizza place first, not a wing place. All-in-all is probably return because they are a local small business and I'd like to try other things. But in rating them on pizza a 3-3.5 would be fairly accurate. I will say that the staff was very friendly on the phone and when I came into the restaurant. That goes a long way in my decision to return.

First visit on our way out of Florida from vacation. The food was excellent and extra large portion. We had to take the rest home. Will visit again. Service was excellent.

We had lunch today in this restaurant, I think they have the best pizza I ever had , the Calzone also is awesome. Five stars for sure .

We ordered the garlic knots per reviews I read on here...they were ok. I have had better but I have had worse. Their marinara is unique..kind salsaish flavor...it is good. We also ordered an XL Italian lovers...note: their Italian sausage is flat sliced meat like lunch meat...I wasn't in love with that. But the sausage had good flavor. Their toppings were fresh and flavorful. Their crust is not too thick or thin..just right, if you will. Also, ordered a lasagna. This was huge! enough for 2 people. It was very good for a quick service restaurant lasagna. I highly recommend it. We also ordered a few desserts and I was underwhelmed. I would not reorder them. Especially the baklava,..it was just..not good. All is all it was quick, good and fair priced. We would order from them again when visiting the area. It has been the best fast food we have had while in Orlando

This little pizzaria was a pleasant surprise! The staff is fantastic and you HAVE got to HAVE the garlic knots!

  • Carrie M.

I was excited to try the pizza from the glowing reviews and sadly, it was all hype. From the genuine Italian name I expected true Italian style pizza (super thin crust, blistered top, light on the toppings, buffalo mozz). NOPE...it was very touristy, American pizza. And to boot, it was doughy and not cooked long enough (got an Italian Lover). Flavors were ok, nothing special or memorable. Wasn't worth the 20 minute drive we took to find it. The gal at the counter was very sweet and had great customer service skills. Wish the pizza matched her personality.

  • Mica H.

We ordered Garlic Knots and a half sausage, half pepperoni pizza. The Garlic knots were absolutely delicious. They came out in about 5 minutes and the pizza shortly thereafter. The pizza was excellent on the pepperoni side, including both precut and some hand-cut pepperoni, from the look of it. The crust was ok, not great. The sausage was hand-cut from links, I believe, but did not have much flavor. The service was excellent. Overall, I'd give it 3.5 stars, but I'll upgrade it to 4 because everything is excellent besides the sausage and the crust.

You can't go wrong with Giovanni's from two pieces of pizza and a drink for $4.99 to huge veggie calzones and subs with fresh baked bread. The employees are always friendly and service is super fast.

  • Jill W.

Have you been eating something and needed an intervention to stop eating said item? That was me with the garlic knots. Perfectly buttered w/parmesan cheese on top. I don't normally splurge on things like that but it was totally worth it. My husband and I ordered the BBQ pizza and baked ziti to share. It was more than enough and we had plenty of leftovers. The staff was nice and engaged in small talk with us. We were on our way to Disney snd wanted something quick but not fast food and casual but nice. This was perfect. If we lived closer we would be regulars.

Excellent spot to grab a tasty (and huge) sub. Skip the lousy Burger King and 7-11 junktfest by the highway and get yourself some real food! Nice folks too. Go there!

  • Caitlin W.

Friendly employees, small but soon to be expanding restaurant. Good selections for pizzas, calzones, subs, and pasta. My friend ordered a small calzone which happened to be bigger than expected. I ordered a BBQ sub which was great and could have been shared. I would definitely go back there if in Davenport again. Good tiramisu as well.

I love coming to this pizza place! The staff is always kind, helpful, and quick, and the food is fantastic. Pro Tip: look up the menu before you come so you can walk in and order at the counter. They will give you a number to put at your table and then deliver the food when it's ready, but you should grab your utensils and plates from the counter while you wait. I enjoy not having servers, so I hope this doesn't change!

Oh Giovanni's I've loved you for so long... I am sad to report that you are losing sway with me. When this place opened 3 years ago I could get a 14 inch cheese pizza for $5.99. With that deal, it was almost cheaper to eat here than it was to get a frozen pizza. The deal hooked me and the quality of the food kept me coming back. Within the year however, they raised the price to $6.99. Ok, I understand. In the grand scheme of things it wasn't a huge deal. Their business was growing and I love their pizza so whatever. However, this week I was saddened when I ordered my 14 inch cheese and was informed that the price had gone up yet again. I was dismayed and I said, "Wow, I remember when it was $5.99." He responded with, "That was like 3 years ago!" Well excuse me, when did 3 years become a lifetime? My point is that the price of my pizza has gone up over 33% in 3 years and I assure you nothing else in my life is climbing in price quite so fast. So, now I am at the point that it no longer makes financial sense to go to Giovanni's. I can order pizzas with toppings for $6.99 at Pizza Hut. I can get a 14 inch cheese pizza for the same price at Papa John's with a Disney Cast ID, and they just opened up a new pizza place next to Publix. It looks like my duchess title will soon be up for grabs.

Friendly! Friendly goes a long way these days. Everyone here was super nice to us. We were going to order a medium pizza, but was told we would get a better deal on the large special they were running. Is it New York pizza? No. But good for what's available in the area. Everyone there thanked us for coming as we left. We'll be back to try more menu items!

First time I tried to place an order I was put on hold for 5 min. Hung up And called back, they said they didn't deliver. Whelp right here in yelp it says they do. When I told him that he said it's not us. When he was informed it was on yelp and he was called from the app the man hung up. They just lost an order for 20 people with an easy 20% tip

Pizza was amazing!! We had the baklava, tiramisu, mango guava cake and pineapple coconut cheesecake. Every dessert was delicious. We will definitely be back next time we are in town!

  • Jason R.

I'm always a hesitant to even rate a place. If it's bad I just don't go back and if it's good I tell them while I'm there. But what good does it do them? The last time I was in (yesterday) I saw the YELP! sign on the door and thought it's time. This was probably the 7th maybe 8th time in to eat here. I try to get something different every time but the Philly cheese steak is a favorite. Pizza is always fantastic. Quality of food is really good and they are super attentive to their guests. Much better than you would expect from a strip mall pizza joint. And it is without a doubt the best place to eat anywhere around the new movie theatre in Posner park so dinner and a movie just got better.

  • Bobbi N.

Good food, big portions, nice low side price. Good for a quick lunch. The food was fresh, the employees were nice. We will be going back when we are in town again. The calzone was a regular size pizza folded in half, the garlic knots were a lite too buttery for me, the chicken pram sandwich was tasty.

  • Amanda D.

Fabulous pizza. I am a vegan and they accommodated my needs. Ordered a veggie pizza with no cheese, extra sauce and veggies. The crust was awesome also! Highly recommend this restaurant!

  • Carrie S.

My son is a pizza lover so when we decided to try this location and he only ate one slice I knew it wasn't good. Large portions but not tasty. The staff was not friendly at all and the cannolis were not fresh. Spent more then I do at any other pizza place. Then again this was when they first opened we just never returned.

Very good pizza! we got the largest size they had thinking it to be a pretty decent size for 4 hungry people. It was absolutely huge! We had leftovers (which were again delicious).

Traveling on business, found this delightful pizza place. Staff is friendly and service was so quick. Enjoyed the Garlic Knots twice in the week we were here. the Veggis Calzone and Veggie Pizza were terrific. Great crust. 2nd time we dined, the staff recognized us and greeted us like old friends. We will be back, next time we are in Orlando area.

Delicious Food! The menu has very affordable prices. Spaghetti & Meatballs 6.99 and large cheese pizza 6.99. Service was exceptional and employees friendly. Clean. We would definitely come back!

  • Jeremy B.

This was very delicious. After having pizza at a questionable pizza chain I ordered here. I ordered a large calzone with pepperoni and meatball, large pizza and 10 chicken wings. It came to $40 which had me nervous but then I opened the box for the calzone and it could feed an army. It was flavorful and delicious. The chicken wings were tasty but could be crispier. Being from Buffalo, NY I know wings so I was pleasantly surprised at the flavor and size of the wings. The pizza was good as well. I will be ordering from Giovanni's in the future!

  • Jeff P.

3.5 stars. I want to give this place a higher rating because there is a lot I like about it, but what really drags it down for me is that everything I've tried from the menu desperately needed more flavor. As another reviewer mentioned, that's generally fixable -- a little salt here and there, maybe dip it in a different sauce, etc. -- but lacking flavor is not a small problem for a place that lives and dies based on how its product tastes. What I like, though: The food is all very fresh. The bread they use for their subs and garlic knots is excellent and tastes like it was just pulled out of the oven. Also, the staff are very friendly. The first time I came, the man I think is the owner casually asked my name as I walked in. Later, after chatting with me for a bit as I was leaving, he thanked me by name. It's a small thing, but I'm not sure I can think of another time that's happened to me at a restaurant, and it shows a genuine appreciation for the customers, which is nice. Finally, Giovanni's is really inexpensive. I was kind of amazed when I saw my check the first time I came. So, basically, if you can just find ways to spruce up the flavors a little bit on anything you order, Giovanni's is a pretty good place. Unfortunately, not everybody is going to have a packet of ranch dressing with them to dip their pizza in (like I always do when I order from here).

The food is ok. Portions are large but hard to get past the staffs poor attitude. Cashier took 6 tries to get my change partially right. Then when I sighed at her abillities, and gave up I was told to calm down. I said, I was calm, I am able to do simple math.

Was looking for a quick eat on the 27 exit of I4 and found this restaurant via Yelp, about a five-minute drive from I4. Friend and I both ordered hot sub sandwiches and were not disappointed. The sandwiches were good and the service friendly. The pizzas that I saw come from the kitchen looked very good.

Yum, yum, yummmmm! Stopped in and got subs to go. They were so good, we went again the next day. Nothing fancy , just fresh delicious subs with a homemade oil and vinegar sauce that is amazing! The bread is delicious, too. Nice guys. Fast service and the prices are really good, too!

    (5)
  • Kelly J.

The pizza was okay. We tried it as we were passing through town. Thought a local place with decent reviews would be better than a chain. It was the same quality as the big chain pizza places and frankly wasn't any better. The sauce tasted as if it was right out a can. The staff was friendly.

    (2)
  • Jim J.

Over priced. Paid $16.05 for a so called XL cheese pizza that was a large any were else. I would not have minded the pizza if the pizza was good but it was only a notch about Dominos.

  • Maxwell M.

Staying at a hotel nearby. I asked a guy sitting outside this place what he thought about it here. His response was simply "brilliant". He was right because this is the third night in a row I'm eating at this amazing restaurant. Do I feel bad about myself? Absolutely not. I feel lucky I don't live here or else I would never go anywhere else. Great sub's, great calzones (small is anything but), and friendly employees (who even remembered my name). A+

This has been our go-to pizza joint, in an area where good eateries are few and far between. Nice people, excellent pizza (try the Za'atar!) and garlic knots, and reasonable prices.

I bought a cannoli from them on November 26th and when I went home to eat it, the cannoli was stale. Because I didn't call on the same day, mind you it was at night and the day before thanksgiving, they wouldn't do anything about it at all!!! They said their policy is you have to call the same day or they can't do anything, and you also have to return the food. I have always liked them but after this rude and unhelpful customer service they provided, I will never eat there again. And I advise others not to buy from them again because they don't try to make their customers happy! They also sell stale cannoli!!

one of the best places to go we have been going sence it opened and will keep going awsome food and prices!

  • Ben O.

Two words: ZA'ATAR PIZZA. With cheese. Damn, that's four words. I guess I kind of lost count of the words while I was remembering the flavor of thyme, sumac, sesame seeds, and other herbs on the chewy dough. Za'atar bread is a breakfast staple in some delicious places, so the menu says calls it a breakfast, but really the only time that you shouldn't be eating this is while you're delivering the State of the Union address, and even then, screw it, go right ahead, you're the President. So I do this American thing where I want to put cheese on everything (sorry, Rover). And it serves me well here, because adding cheese makes it more delicious. ADDING CHEESE MAKES EVERYTHING MORE DELICIOUS. Even za'atar pizza, which otherwise is pretty much at the tippity-top of awesome as it is. You'll know you've found the right place when you see a bunch of people riding around drunkenly in golf carts. I dunno, it's a local thing. Shut up and eat.

Pizza

Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.

Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.

Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
