Outstanding fried gator. The appetizer menu is great. Some of the fried green tomatoes and crap cakes

not even close to good. I enjoy a local dive as long as the food is fresh and reasonably priced but this place had neither. A $10 appetizer is a tiny condiment cup with a little cream cheese and even less fish poorly mixed and four packages of soda crackers. The Conch fritters were even worse with barely a hint of conch and some oily and partially burnt cornmeal. Rest was just as bad, grouper was nearly inedible. After spending $100 for 4 people went home and made a meal for everyone since we were still hungry. Please don't bother. PS notice there are no pictures of the establishment because it is downright nasty

Aw come on, does it get much better? Ocean views, cold beer, piping hot grouper sandwich, friendly waitress?

Price is double for tackle equipment... Both ladies their acted like we were bothering them on a Wednesday morning. No one was even in the place. Poor service and poor conditions. Will not be back

Best grouper sandwich in Cortez or on the island (AMI). Old world Florida for sure looking at it, most people would never walk in the door, but the food is yummy! Try it!

We decided to go to Annie's after working up an appetite jetskiing around the ICW, especially since we had been to this little dive before and had a great meal. What I remembered about Annie's was that it had a great grouper sandwich, so I ordered that expecting it to be almost the exact same sandwich... Not quite. The waitress (who was super friendly) didnt ask how we wanted our fish cooked, and the menu didnt mention this either. It turned out, much to my disappointment, that it was deep fried... Not at all like the delicious blackened grouper filet from my memories. I feel like frying fish takes away from a fish's flavor and makes it unnecessarily heavy, a real shame since I think their fish is caught fresh. Other than that, the fries and tea were good (albeit a bit expensive) but the coleslaw had a weird mushy texture. I probably wouldn't go out of my way to come here again unless I was starving/ renting from one of the nearby marinas.

I had the grouper sandwich, it was good, not greasy but they have no AC. Next time we will order to go.

Annie's is an old Florida bait shop, bar and restaurant on the intracoastal waterway across from Anna Maria Island. I've gone each time I've visited the area to buy bait, drink a cold beer and eat some good food. Honesty it wouldn't matter to me what the food tasted like (although it is very good) because the atmosphere is just awesome. Right on the water with that old Florida charm, this is such a cool place. The staff is friendly and helpful too. It'll be one of my first stops after my flight lands to grab a cold beer. Thanks Annie's!

I heard about this place from the yelp talk boards about burgers in Bradenton. It is one of those places you've driven past 1000's times and never knew was there. Or if you did you didn't think to stop as why would a bait shop have food? Turns out at least two bait shops I've been to in Florida has had decent food. This place is a quick turn off of cortez just before you get to the cortez draw bridge. The entrance wasn't obvious but I just looked for tables on the doc and went in there. Kind of what you might expect. About 1/2 of the place is bait and tackle and the other half is a bar and a few tables. Plus a few outside. I grabbed a menu but didn't really look at it as I came for the burger. I would recommend their "deluxe". I placed my order and headed outside as the "old bait" smell and cigarette smoke was not my cup of tea. It was a great day out, so another tip, eat out on the doc. Besides, I had a stray cat and a dolphin to keep me company. The burger was the rare side of of medium rare, which was fine but some of you might hesitate on that. IT was a good size, but not the huge bloated things you get at the $10 burger joints, and the tomato, lettuce and onions were fresh and great. American cheese was ok, but cheddar would be better. There are a lot of "extras" that you can get but I passed as each was about $1 to $2 more. The burger came with some fries, which was a surprise and makes the $8.25 seem more reasonable. They also get points for not putting mustard and catsup on it and instead putting those on the side. IT was a good burger but it could have been great with a little salt and pepper. Has no one in this town heard of seasoning meat? This is part of what makes in-and-out great, they know how to properly season things! That and incredibly fresh ingredients. Third burger joint in two weeks that I ran into this. So a good burger, but not great. Didn't check out the seafood and the old guys at the bar were eating shrimp like it was going out of style so there might be something there. Cranky old florida charm, 4 stars. Decent burger 3 1/2 stars. The supper small ice tea that costs $2.25, 2 stars. Overall I'll go with 3. Interesting but if I'm driving to cortez I'm going to go star fish and get oysters. Ps. I have no idea if this places is good for bait and tackle. Never even looked at that!

Love this hole in the wall gem. Wendy, our server was awesome. Right on the water, fresh seafood and friendly. We had the smoked amberjack and crackers and the grouper sandwich. Delicious!

Saw the high rated reviews on Yelp so we decided to stop. What a great place! We went there with our 4 kids. The food was fantastic & fresh. The service was even better. It's worth the stop.

Feels like family! We only bought bait, but very happy we found them. Down to earth and helpful.

This hole in the wall is a great find! The best grouper sandwich! It is caught that day so it is fresh, fresh, fresh! You will not be disappointed.

This place is not closed. It's open! And has a great Steam Pot! Filled with muscles, clams, shrimp, corn, and potatoes. I stop by Annie's every time I visit AMI. I am a fan of local places with that hole in the wall feel and Annie's has it. And if you don't like seafood, The Cuban Sandwich is delish!
