I had a small party in their Black Room and everything just came out so perfectly I had to come on here and give kudos to the amazing job they did. The service was amazing, the food and drinks were delicious, and the ambience was perfect for a dinner party with great friends who just want to have a good time. I got there earlier and they even helped me decorate! I will definitely be arranging more parties here in the future.

Tonight was the first time I have ever been to The Globe. First of all, one of my main passions in life is music, I have been playing guitar for over 10 years and this place had one of the best jazz bands I have ever heard. Second of all, I consider myself quite the "foodie" and I have to say, the food and drinks here were on point. Chef John had a shrimp and spinach fettuccine on the menu and it sounded delicious. So of course, I had to order it. Lets just say that this was probably one of the best pasta dishes I have ever tasted. Extremely fresh, creamy and delicious. Oh! and it had bacon.. It blew me away! I live about 10 minutes from here and swore to myself that I will be back here almost every saturday for some amazing jazz and that incredible fettuccine. It was truly an incredible night and I am so excited there are some still some jazz bars here in south florida.

Stopped by for a drink and to hear some jazz! The jazz was more modern the night we stopped by (Saturday) and very good. The staff seemed a little unorganized, especially for how little people were in there, but hopefully can chalk that up to busyness or something rather. We didn't stay too long because we wanted to check out some other jazz bars but the music was great and the beer was cold!

This place became near and dear to my heart because of its proximity to my old job...it's literally across the street so it was usually our go-to for many occasions, particularly happy hours (be sure to ask for the seasoned chips with your drink!). It's spacious with a relaxed and semi-antique vibe, and the service is friendly. Aside from a well-stocked bar, they offer a variety of food from salads to burgers and quesadillas to pizza - I've liked it all. I've also been to and hosted a couple of events in the back room and it's the perfect event space, complete with comfortable seating, an upscale look, private bar and TV screens. I'll be back for a jazz night...it's been ages!

The server was awesome, the bathrooms were very clean, the food was terrific and the prices were great. I recommend The Globe for a night or afternoon of sweet Jazz, great food and perfect service. I will definitely be back here again for more lunch and dinner.

One of my favorite restaurants in Miami. Menu has a wide variety and everything I've ever ordered has been top notch. Great for both lunch and dinner. Lovely venue too if you're trying to impress a lady.

Good easy going place for lunch. Not easily noticeable from the street but the food is good. I had their steak salad with sun-dried tomatoes, feta and sliced almonds and it was very good. Good portion for lunch so I was very satisfied with my choice. Service is neutral, neither good or bad. It could be a little bit more welcoming.

Great Jazz tonight. Friendly staff. We ordered House soup, very good. Greek salads we ordered needed a better dressing. Heavy mayo dressing. Needed a nice oil/vinegar dressing. Will go back. Not cheap but you're paying for live music.

Not good at all. Overpriced. Had two salads salad with sliced skirt steak. $17 each for a pile of room temperature wilted lettuce and a tiny amount of meat. Croutons were mushy. Food came out quite slow. Server was very nice, though. Globe used to be much better and more crowded. With so many places in Coral Gables to eat (and especially to get a salad),The Globe needs to step up their game if they plan on being around much longer.

Came to celebrate a friends birthday. At one point, one of the owners visited our table, introduced himself, and sent a complimentary drink to the birthday guy. The drink prices were on par with Coral Gables. The food came on time and was more than satisfying. The live jazz music was a bonus!

Used to be the place to "see and be seen" and it sucked then - thankfully the whole hype has died down and it is found its place as a local hangout where you can sit outside, enjoy a wonderful south Florida evening and have a drink or two with friends. Now ...that's more like it. It is a good option as well for some appetizers and a pretty good ambiance all around.

The Globe: Last night was a good friend's 30th birthday. She reserved the back room for her birthday celebration. Let me tell you, what a great space! Wooden floors, flat screen TV, and private inside bar. On normal nights, there are tables in there and it serves like a VIP section. She was able to maximize the space and make it hers for the evening. We were even able to bring in a laptop/ipod and connect to have our very own music selections inside the room, regardless of what was going on outside. Kudos for that! In the main room, there was a live jazz band and then soft jazz music playing throughout the night. The main room people didn't seem to mind our party music and vice-versa. This was a great event and made for a memorable evening. One con was the inside bar service. The bartender was very slow and didn't seem as if she wanted to be there. I have read your recent reviews and most patrons complain about service. That is the one thing that made this evening difficult. A quick and attentive bartender would have made all the difference. Other than that, this room provided us with a great space and a great time for celebrating!

OMG, I came here one night a while back and my friends and I fled. Cheesy, old(er) people strolling around the place with their suits and business saavy attire. Kind of reminds me of when we used to hit up Blue Martini in Brickell years back (which is the same reason we stopped going!). We had some drinks before jumping ship, but I don't remember anything good about this place. Perhaps they've gotten it together as of late, but I don't think I'd ever go back there anyway!

Great local bar with great happy hour specials. All vodka drinks are half off and all the food is 30% off until 8pm I believe. I had the chicken pasta that was delicious. I would like to describe this meal as carb overload, but it's so worth every carb! The atmostphere is pretty chill during the week and on Friday there's a bit of a crowd going in the back room lounge. Overall the space has a great bar with wood flooring throughtout and dark furniture.

Came to the Globe on a Wednesday night after trying to fight the crowds at several other Gables restaurants. Fight the crowd we did as it was pretty much empty. Since I had never tried it, we decided to stay. First I have to say the French onion soup was probably the best I've ever had, and I have been to Paris people. Unfortunately I wasn't impressed by their dinner selections. I ordered the churrasco with a side salad at a whopping $21. Must be amazing right? It wasn't. It came out drowned in an A-1 sauce. Last time I checked all churrasco needs is salt. The salad was ok but too many red leaves and onions. The service was mediocre. My date asked for silverware so I could eat my salad the waitress came back with one set. I guess she assumed he was going to eat his salad with his hands. Come on guys get it together this could be a great place not just a memory of one!

Cute place, with outdoor seats but the food did not measure up. I ordered lemonade and it tasted like a terrible powder. Then the cheeseburger was nothing special. The steak was chewy and the Globe salad was okay but the dressing was sweet with no other flavor. I would not recommend this place and the even though the waitress was nice, she seemed too busy to care for our table.

Went on a Wednesday night. Great happy hour drink specials and salsa night. Place really go going after 10pm. Ordered a salad, lettuce was room temperature, limp, tomatoes and avocado over ripe. Not worth the $15. Better salads at Cheesecake, Rokburger, Villagio, etc. Not the place to eat, drinking and dancing yes.

The hubs and I were looking for a place to eat this Saturday evening, when it occurred to me that I hadn't been to The Globe in a while. Let me just say that I have always loved this place(as a patron) for no particular reason that I can identify. Well, this evening in particular we had a stellar experience. Magda was our server and she was uber pleasant and funny. Alex, Salina and one other super nice employee worked together to entertain and accommodate us. The food rocked and we were very impressed with the service. I had the spicy fish fingers and hubs had a burger, everything was delicious. They have live jazz on Saturdays which is awesome. We didnt stay to hear it this time but we have int he past, and as intimated before I have worked a few of them. Note to patrons....please please please tip your server accordingly and remember you've been sitting there all night!!! Thanks for the great experience!

I had an early dinner there and ordered the fried calamari with some wine. I have to say that I was very disappointed. The wine was fine, even though the quantity of wine was fairly small in my experience. The calamari were very salty and I stopped eating them at half my plate. Some friends ordered other appetizers and entrees and they did look tastier. I'm not sure I'll go back right away.

This is another one of those places that can easily become a regular for you. The food is good - very good. I think the best salmon I ever ate was here. I am a natural follower of the local Jazz scene and there's something about this tiny restaurant that keeps bringing me back. Nothing like Saturday night Jazz at the Globe. I hear their happy hour is excellent too!

As always, the live jazz is amazing and the food is mediocre. The brie platter would have been great if the chef wasn't 'topping happy' ... just stick to the honey and almond slices would been amazing. I had the good sense of ordering calamari... you really can't screw this up.

I was here friday night to see Johnny Dread. The place is small inside but kind of cool. I know that it was not the normal crowd since I was here for a reggae concert but I liked the people that it attracted. Everyone was friendly, the service was good, and the prices where reasonable. I have not tried their food or been here on a "normal" night but I will return to check it out. Next time they have a band that I like playing I will definitely return.

Great happy hour place. Good outdoor seating and since it sits on Alhambra one of the biggest streets in the Gables, you'll have a nice wide sidewalk. The drinks are good. Prices are reasonable and the service is great. I recommend the brie appetizer platter for sharing with friends. Good size, comes with fresh fruit and sliced bread. For the summer months when the humidity and heat combination can be stifling order an ice cold drink. You might have to remind them to pour it over the rocks, but they'll gladly take note. There is plenty of metered street parking.

My boyfriend and I went to this place for Valentine's Day this year. I wanted to do something a bit different and they have Saturday Night Jazz every week. So, we went. A word to bars and restaurant: If your service is bad, no matter how great the food and drinks are, you will not have customers. Let's start with the positive, shall we? The food was amazing! The drinks were good. Their choice of alcohol wasn't extensive nor was it the best, but the drinks we got were good. Of course, it's expensive. The service...not so great. The waitress took FOREVER to get us our drinks and meals. It was ridiculous!! Once, I looked over and saw her watching the band. On top of everything, she double charged us for a meal! I passed by recently, and did not see a lot people. Actually, it looked kind of empty. I honestly hope they can fix the service issue because everything else is really good. I particularly enjoyed the band that night and would come back on a Saturday night to listen to some good jazz again if the service were good. Also, I like their idea of giving local bands a chance. So, my advice, work on the service.

It has been a while since I have been back here...but it seems that things still hold true. Service still leaved much to be desired, but the location, food and prices are still A OK... The few tables lining the outside tend to fill up pretty fast, not just with smokers. The waitresses (yes, all female) still dress in black and would likely be seen in even less fabric (all great bodies). The Thursday happy hour was a staple and probably still is. As for the food, my favorite food is the honey brie appetizer already noted on other reviews. It really is a great starter, share it, if you are not selfish enough to eat it all... There is always a daily special menu and it is very creative; try it! Bottom line, this Gables staple maintains its clientele and is likely to be around a lot longer.

The only reason for three stars is the jazz and the quality of the servers. The jazz was great and worth coming back for. Tye food on the other hand is forgetable at best, and that is because I choose not to remember.... the dolphin fingers were so soggy they either had to be frozen, microwaved, or both. My pear ravioli had to be fished out of a soup of sauce (previously I thought there was no such thing as too much sauce) and the horibble low quality blue cheese had to be scraped off the top. It's such a shame, if the food was decent I would be a regular just for the live jazz. Guess it would be ok to buy some wine and sit at the bar for the jazz but I dont think i'll ever eat here again. Shame its walking distance from my house...

In Coral Gables for the afternoon (not from around here) - one shot at lunch in a place I haven't been yet, so I googled best wine list in Coral Gables...Gayot gives me The Globe as its first choice, with 20 wines by the glass, THE place where "execs" meet, yada yada yada. Suffice it to say that the 4 choices I have for a red are disappointing (one per grape, and among the choices of vintner, Cupcake and Blackstone!!! Really?). So, I am currently trying to enjoy a run of the mill light (not white) canned tuna salad with mayo and some artichoke hearts, and mesclun greens - far from the Mediterranean style I expected. It's busy, lots of suits for lunch, so a nice crowd to watch alone, but NOT a place for foodies or anyone interest in a good wine list by the glass. All in all, disappointing from the not warm welcome and the mediocre at best food. Watch out - Gayot doesn't have a clue!

I met a couple of friends for drinks and dinner. One of the girls was okay, the other seemed very angry. No smile at all ( I really hate this, you go out to enjoy yourself, and end up paying to see a sour face). The gazpacho was disgusting...tasted the tomatoes out of a can, was sour, and today I have an aupset stomach. The Ceasar salad with calamari was okay, My friends had pizza and left half of it on the plate. It was like a big cracker with crap on top. Oh! the olives on my dirty martinis were decomposed!! I will never be going there again. Prices are very high for the quality of the food...let alone that nasty waitress.

We went here somewhat on a whim with a huge group of people. It was busy, but not so much so that we couldn't find a few tables to pull together. We had missed happy hour so the drink menu was a little painful on a college kid's dime. I did not order or eat any food. The jazz musician playing that night was fantastic. I loved the atmosphere; the actual restaurant/bar is just as a jazz lounge should be. Relatively small, old, cozy, but inviting. It was hip enough for you to feel cool, but not so much so that you felt out of place. It was just right. My only complaint as far as the atmosphere went was there was a party going on in a back room with terrible hip hop music blasting bass, which unsurprisingly carried through the walls. It wasn't noticeable when the jazz group was playing, but in between songs it was very off-putting. I doubt this is a regular occurrence. Overall, I loved this joint and really need to go back again soon.

It was a nice suprise coming here. We actually didn't expect much. Just one of those things where you pass by and decide to get a quick lunch. The food was great and so was the service. We shared the spanish chorizo and manchego quesadilla app. The pico de gallo was awesome. You can really taste the chorizo. It reminded me of some sort of spanish pizza. Weird sounding, but you'll see what I mean when you try it. The wife enjoyed her burger and I really liked my ruben. Overall if we are ever in the neighborhood again, we would come back.

The first time I went to The Globe, it was so crowded I stayed away for about 5 years. But i revisited about a year ago and fell in love all over again. The food is top-notch, the drinks are good (price is so-so, but happy hour is a good bargain), and the atmosphere is laid back. I love the old wooden floors. And oh yea, their homemade chips are to die for.

So... We went to The Globe last night for my brother's birthday. We chose this spot because we ate there with a big group a few weeks ago and it was really good and fast. My brother ordered a Cesar salad around 9:30, we had a good amount of people there so we were talking the whole night and he didn't realize that almost 2 hour had gone by and he didn't get his food. He cancelled the order for his salad around 11:15 and waitress FLICKED HIM OFF!! Yes, she gave him the middle finger, after we complained, she came back in and he said something to her and she did it AGAIN! We got into it with the manager because he denied it and tried to minimize and she now flicked me off! It's almost hard to write this because of how crazy it sounds. I wouldn't believe it if I was reading it. Anyways... This shit hole is owned by the same people that own OneBurger. Stay away from these two establishments at ALL COSTS!!!

Stopped by with my friend and her dad last night since one of my friends was playing the bass. I had never actually been here but my friend was always raving about it so I decided to come through for some support. They don't charge cover at all, but they say you need to spend at least $20 on food/drinks/ect (they didn't seem to enforce this too much). I personally didn't mind though because I was hungry. Jazz nights are on saturdays, so theres always live music. They have a special menu they change every week along with the usual menu that they have. The service isn't the greatest but it;s something I let slip due to the live music. It keeps you entertained, but the place is small so it can get a little loud. The food isn't out of this world delicious but its better than decent. I would definitely go again, especially for the vibe. Its so relaxing and peaceful

This place has been hit and miss for me so I've never become a regular which I'm prone to do when I find something I love. Never had that happen here. Good for meeting up for drinks and conversation. I like that you can actually hear the person across the table. Due to location seems to serve a lot of lawyers. Can't recall having great food...really would only recommend for drink and appetizers. Good location for Gables for work lunch or happy hour. Live music is a plus. Atmosphere and how the bar is open to the sidewalk is very nice.

3.5 stars is what I've settled on, but oh, Miami, because of you and this starring system, The Globe gets an extra half star. We travel for work, and have been staying in Coral Gables for the past month. Miami area locals, you're a lucky bunch, because you truly live in one of the coolest places in this country... But, what is with the restaurants around here? The reason I bring this up is because I think there are a lot of tourists here, and if they read this review I hope they'll choose The Globe over these other places (I assume locals are in the know more than I am) . We've been to about 15 area restaurants in the past month, and every single one had really horrible service and mediocre food. We sit baffled at restaurant after restaurant, wondering how this phenomenon seems contagious. The Globe, however, although a solid 3.5, has been a standout here. First, the bartender. I didn't catch her name, but she's a tiny cute brunette, and she's awesome. We had a Groupon and I was playing an exhilarating game of get the Groupon code before the phone loses charge, and the phone won. Coincidentally, the bartender had the same phone and offered to charge mine with her charger. There was a glimmer of hope for Miami's waitstaff beginning to flutter around in my heart. She then proceeded to lovingly describe some food items- she very obviously loves her workplace and their food and wine. My boyfriend, after having been traumatized in St. Louis, MO by their cracker crust pizza (think sauce and cheese on a saltine, why?) was concerned that he might find a crust like this at The Globe, after a very scary brush with something similar at another place here in Miami. The bartender put his mind (partially) at ease, with a perfect description of their crust, which was thin, not charred too much or too little, and nice and poofy around the edges. We ordered the chicken parm pizza. Still suspicious and paranoid, my boyfriend elected to order a backup pasta dish, (just in case he was being set up as the victim of another maniacal parrot-food crust plot) which was a rigatoni bolognese. The pizza would have been plenty to share, but the bartender recommended that particular pasta dish as one of her favorites, and my boyfriend has difficulties saying no to pasta and cute brunettes. On to the bullet points: -Wine was served in pleasant glasses for merlot and chardonnay, and the house was good. We're not wine snobs, and to the reviewer who said something like "they have Cupcake and Blackstone, seriously!" Go to an uppity place, you're obviously way too important and sophisticated for The Globe. Cupcake and Blackstone are two of my favorites, (merlots) but I gave the house a chance and it was full bodied and velvety and just fine. -They give you free chips to start. They were good, (texture, thickness, seasoning, not greasy) but too salty. The pizza was good, (crust supported toppings with no drooping, nary a hint of what Polly might want, not too doughy, nicely seasoned chicken parm topping) but a little too cheesy and not saucy or salty enough. The bolognese was really good (cheesy, generously meaty, al dente) but too salty, and I missed the tomato kick like I did with the pizza. Fix the salt and tomato sauce problem and this place is a winner for food. My ample leftovers of both dishes shall be donned with a smidge of tomato sauce and all will be well. Great service, good food, pleasant atmosphere, but get the Groupon if you can. I wholeheartedly agree with other reviewers who say this place is too expensive.

I come here for the OneBurger menu mostly during Lunch hour, but you'll see a young crowd mixed in with the business lunch executives that come in for the Globe menu. The waitress staff are all very beautiful and mostly polite, but getting someone to take your initial order can at times be ..... ( how shall I say? ) -a good way to test the limits of your Patience. *crossing fingers*. Let's see how it goes today...... Well, I'm back. I waited until after the meal arrived/ & was paid to write an Amendment to this review. At this point I think the waitresses hate me, they hate me even though I'm extremely patient, patient enough not to give them any attitude when they walk by 1000 times without taking my order or acknowledging my existence, they hate me even though I smile and always say please and thank you, they hate me even though I'm a decent tipper, and even though I still tip generously when they get my order Wrong and then eat the food I didn't order without complaining ( because I waited so long that now I'm starving and don't wanna send the food back and wait even longer ). I don't get it? I seriously don't get it? Does anyone else experience this at The Globe??? :/

Loved this place. The music was great and the drinks where perfect. I had the quesadillas and tostones enchilada and it was amazing. The place can get a little tight but over all the service , the music and staff where great .def will be going back and recommend this spot .

I really wanted to like this place, unfortunately it was not good. My friend and I went there for drinks, I ordered the Patron Margarita, he had a Vodka mojito. Both were really bad, poorly made... And they were not cheap. Our second drink we decided to go for something more basic, in my case a greyhound and my friend had a regular mojito - both were bad again! How can you miss vodka and juice!? The appetizer was the better part, the calamari was pretty decent. We decided to order dinner and it was almost as mediocre as the drinks. I had Fish and Fries, the breading did not taste well... my friend had steak and he did not like it either. The staff was just ok. We paid around $120 plus tip. I do not think I will come back. I am sure there are better places around the gables with better drinks and food for the same price

Hadn't been here in over 15 years but their Saturday jazz nights got our attention. Unfortunately there was no jazz but lots of loud 80s music with plenty of 40 somethings reliving their glory years. If you're into this, you will enjoy. Extremely difficult to fight through the crowd to get a drink. The only reason I gave it a 2nd star was because we were lucky and got a table outside. I won't make this mistake again.

The Globe is one of those restaurants where it's reputation precedes it. It's so outspoken through word of mouth that you are sometimes expecting something phenomenal but just get great food with great music. I love sitting outside because being outside in Coral Gables is a necessary Miami experience.

First let me aay how refreshing it is to find a venue in Miami that has good live music, primarily jazz. On Saturday nights, the globe features jazz bands both locally and well known artist. From a musicians perspective the music selection is excellent! The artist who play (at least the two times that I have gone) have been impeccable! True jazz artist! The ambiance is very intimate and the food is spectacular! My wife loves salmon and she had a salmon that was encrusted with walnuts! I also had salmon that was cooked in a....I wanna say balsamic Asian sauce. It was excellent! The service was good as well. My strongest recommendation is that you go with time. The venue is fairly small and thus fills up pretty quickly. But it is definitely worth the wait. In the meantime grab a drink and groove to the elaborate licks and funky riffs of the jazz musicians....it'll keep you coming back for more.

There is no cover but you are required to place an order of at least 30 bucks, which itsnt bad considering they have a good variety of food and drinks. Great spot. Great food. Great ambiance for happy hour or other. I've been going to this place since it opened in 1997-ish. Started off as more of a jazz bar with live music. The concept has morphed a bit since that time, but same great food, great setting and great owners.

I debated on whether or not to even write this review, but I came to the conclusion that I would be doing you guys a total disservice not to. So, after filling our bellies with yum yums from the elite event at the Cape Cod Room, Claudia J. and I found ourselves just a wee bit hungry still (after all, it was hors d'oeuvres and we hadn't eaten dinner yet and I hadn't even had lunch), so after riding around a bit, we found that the only thing that was open in the area (at about 10:30PM) was the Globe, since they were open late to show the playoffs. Oh, the playoffs...well, that's part of the reason I wasn't sure if I should review my experience or not. They were open later than usual for the playoffs and were likely only expecting to be pushing drinks. Well, the kitchen still open for a reason, so on with my review. So, first off, we order a sandwich to share--the caprese. The wait to get it was average and the waitress brought it to us on two plates, as requested. The fries were extra delicious for some odd reason. They had the perfect crispness and I don't know if it was just that I was really hungry or not, but I was lovin' 'em. So, the sandwich...oh, the sandwich...right off I noticed it wasn't the right one. Well, we were hungry and I was taking my sweet time about getting home that night because I was enjoying a break, but still, I was late for my 9p -6a paper writing shift at home that night, so we both were just like whatever and we kept what we had without making a stink about it. That was waitress #1 who took our order, by the way, and #2 brought it to us. Well, after I bite into my sandie, I realize that even though it looked tasty on that yummy French bread (although they could stand a lesson from Farm Stores on what french bread actually is, the bread was very good, whatever it was) with its generous slices of fresh mozzarella and nice, thin slice of chicken, topped with bacon (so not something I was aiming to eat that late at night, but whatevz),there was some serious HORSERADISH on that thing! EW! I really don't like horseradish as it is , but this stuff was STRONG...like wasabi strong! It was actually so strong that it burned in my nose as I ate. Needless to say, I took of the slice of bread with that on it and at the rest of the sandwich with one slice. It was soo much better. Pretty tasty, actually. Anywho, I don't know if the cook was back there watching the playoffs or what, but we got the wrong thing. Well, what happens next? Waiter #2 obviously completely forgot about us. We were sitting outside and as Claudia and I begin to look at each other with confusion, wondering when we'll get our check, we realize that we're the only ones sitting outside at this point. Yea...the waitress definitely forgot there were still patrons sitting outside. So, finally she checks on us and Claudia asks for the bill. Ok, so nothing can go wrong at this point, right? Wrong, so wrong! The waitress brings us out a drink only tab that came to 20 some odd bucks. We chuckled to ourselves, then let her know it was the wrong tab. She brought us the right one right away and it actually had what we originally ordered on it, so we just left it alone and paid for that. All in all, the sandwiches here were tasty and you can't beat the location to catch the breeze on a cool summer night, but at $14 bucks a sandwich, I don't think this will happen again unless I'm sharing again. In case you're curious, yes , it was a pretty sizable sandwich to share, but $14 buck for a sandie?? For real? The appetizers and bar bites sounded delicious, too, but I wouldn't be surprised if they pulled a typical Miami and gave you three bites for the price. :::sigh::: sorry for the long review, but I felt the details were necessary.

well, then you better talk to your staff and get your facts straight. The waitress that worked there told me you would not be in until Monday. You saw me come in and left. You obviously knew who I was when you saw my husband walk in. I know you have been in business for 14 years. Unfortunately, I, as well as family and friends have contributed to the success of the Globe. Ever since I wrote the review, people have been telling me that you guys do shady business, particularly you. Obviously, it's not only me. I wish you the best Lorraine. I am not casting the first stone. YOU CONFIRMED ME....There is nothing else to say except you messed up.

Cheesy Happy Hour??? A friend and I straggled away from an event and in here on an random Tuesday evening.. With dinner on mind. The Globe for me has always been that Happy Hour spot. That spot that by the time I get here the crowd is poured out onto the street. The spot that I have to squeeze my way threw people standing uncomfortably to close to each other in hopes of reaching the bar and waiting another 30 minutes to actually order a beverage. That spot where some folks have been drinking here sine 2:00 pm and it is now 8:30 pm and they are still here drinking and acting ridiculously rude, inappropriate, reeking of alcohol and barely pronouncing any syllables. Needless to say I have never eaten here. I remember hating coming to the Globe back in the day with my girl friends. They loved it and I would just stand on the median in the middle of the street waiting for them to get their quick fix and bounce out to the next spot. It's was really that bad for me. I just don't dig those environments. I dig my personal space way to much. I was surprised when he suggested dinner here. Being a happy go lucky gal I agreed to give it a shot. I could always order a salad or fish & chips at a bar. They must have bar food. To my surprise they had a more upscale menu. Not upscale Il Gabbiano menu but for a bar definitely more upscale. We ordered tostones stuffed with shrimp, seared tuna salad, and a churrasco. People the food was good. It was good. What a pleasant surprise. The Globe wasn't filled with bar flies and we had a comfortable slightly romantic dinner.

Went around 9pm on a Friday. Happy hour was over and easy to get a table. Salmon was very good -fish and chips. So so. Great service-it's a bar with food

I love the rustic, European decor and the food- I had a fish sandwich and veggies. Everything was delicious and tasted very fresh.

I got food poisoning from the salmon....and so did 3 others, but that was 4 years ago...hope they have changed.
