(Technically they get 3.5 stars, but I round up, not down.) This was my first visit to Murdock's Bistro, so when my mom-in-law told me we were coming here for lunch I promptly pulled up the Yelp app. I was happy with the dishes I'd seen pics of and a few of the entrees sounded really, really good! To start off, I have to let you know that there were nine of us in the party. That being said, our waitress was fabulous. Every time she checked on us I felt like she genuinely cared about our experience. If the food was as excellent as she was then I'd give Murdock's 5 stars with no hesitation. The first thing I tried was their fried pickles. I actually liked them quite a bit. They were almost too salty, though. Just kind of tiptoeing the line, I'd say. Maybe it was the batter, or maybe it was the kind of pickles they used. I couldn't tell. While I waited on my burger, I tried a raspberry lemonade. It was tart, but more over it was sweet, and I loved it. It was the best part of my meal. For my entree I ordered The Southerner. The Angus patty came out stacked with pimiento cheese, a fried green tomato, and two thick-cut slices of bacon. It came on what looked to be French bread rather than a bun, which is not mentioned in the menu, but still tasted good anyways. The burger was good, but non of the flavors really popped for me. I'd ordered it medium, but the burger was actually burnt, which I think got in the way of me really tasting everything else. After I doctored it up with some mayo and Tabasco sauce it was much more palatable, and even enjoyable. The restaurant was not busy when we arrived, so I don't understand why giving someone a burnt burger would be acceptable. Christoph ordered the Catfish Tacos. I asked him if he like them and he replied, "Yeah, but they're too salty". My husband is not huge on salt, but I am, so he gave me a bite just to see if it was his own reservations. He was right though. It was ridiculously salty. I'm talkin' a 9 out of 10 on the saltiness scale. It tasted like someone had knocked a can of Morton's onto the tacos. My husband was too polite to send them back, but he did let the waitress know. All in all, I'd say their menu was unique, but the food didn't hit the mark for me. I'd be willing to give them a shot the next time I'm in town, though.

Popped into this place while exploring the area. Nice outside seating and attentive service. We ordered the fried pickles as an appetizer; good though it'll make you feel a sodium overload once you've scarfed them down. The accompanying horseradish sauce was great. I ordered the fried green tomato BLT, the bread was fresh and soft though I felt the tomatoes to bread ratio was low, a couple more tomatoes could fix that. The husband had the fried catfish poboy and didn't complain. Overall it was a good enough experience worth coming back and trying other items on the menu.

We actually had one tell us about a party the night before, with too much drinking and the hangover that was causing the bad service. I went here with some friends a couple of months ago and enjoyed the food tremendously. I have stopped in here during a craft show in downtown Cocoa village to drink a beer, but I had never eaten here before. Their food was awesome. I can definitely recommend the fish tacos. They also had all kinds of great burgers too. They also had a good selection of beers, both domestic and imported, but they were out of many of them the night we were there, so no plus there for me. I can understand being out of a couple, but it started to become a joke, me asking for one and him telling me they were out of it. I wanted to try something different and new for me but ended up with a Guinness. I have to say the service was bad and my friend who has been there before said that's usually how it is. There seemed to be one server and a guy tending the bar and that's it for front line staff. They have an indoor dining area, a bar and an outdoor dining area too. This is not fine dining though as all inside areas are surrounded by the bar. I would go back for the food, but they seriously need to work on the service and keeping everything in stock too. Parking is usually limited to parallel street parking, but there is business parking lot in back you could park in after hours...I think it's a bank.

Get the brunch special Bloody Mary. You won't need anything else. Piled high with a pickle, whole jalapeno, six olives, tomato, slices of cucumber, and celery. It was like a mini vegetarian meal in a glass. (Plus vodka!) We only had chips and queso (seems to be home made) but I am sure the food must be delicious. Bartender was awesome. We just sat and hung out for hours. The best experience I've had at a bar in Florida to date.

They have the best choice of beer in Cocoa Village and it is COLD! The decor seems a little dirty, but somehow it adds to the charm of the place. The staff is friendly. Everytime I come to the village I stop here.

Ok, when someone says to the waitstaff no bread or croutons that means no wheat gluten. I pooped my brains out and can only assume it was from a contamination of the croutons that were pulled out of the salad or the bread that was on the plate before it was pulled.

The service was alright, but the other guests on the patio were quite strange (drunk and smoking) and made the atmosphere a little uncomfortable. One of us ordered a double order of fries and received what only seemed like one. None of the meals were anything special except for Mahi Mahi. Would definitely recommend it blackened. Also, was never mentioned, but every meal was served with Texas toast.

Okay, here's the deal. We Don't come here often. Last time was with wife and adult daughter and we sat at bar and had a great time with good food and excellent service with a friendly attentive bartender. This time, however, was a totally different experience - in fact, quite disappointing and maddening. After a long cost-to-coast 6 hour plane flight I just wanted to chill, so Wife and I sat at bar again intending to enjoy some wine and dinner. Place was Not too busy, but was ignored for close to 10 minutes before offered any service. The bartender,Derrick, acted as if we were an annoyance rather than paying customers. Ordered house red, but not sure what we ended up with as he never bothered to offer or tell us what he had or poured. Never did serve us our water we requested and had to flag down another bartender who was a little more attentive, but only after I complained. Ordered a sushi appetizer (remember, place very empty) took about 30 mins to get it - I guess they had to go catch it first. Was terrible, full of fish fat, couldn't eat it. Requested bill, which took another 10 minutes to get. Overall, $50 for a total crap experience - but at least the music was good. Should've drove right home from the airport rather than waste my time and money on a place that could've cared less whether we were there, or not. Again, very disappointed.

We are always looking for good music venues and this place fits the bill. Great sound and food - you don't have to compromise! The night we went Brian Smalley was playing which is why we tried it. This was acoustic fingerstyle guitar, high energy, and spectacular, The entrees are $12-17 and were worth it. No pub grub. We tried the smoked mahi appetizer (maybe a little salty), thai shrimp wrap with a side of jalapeno cheese grits, and grilled flat iron steak with garlic spinach. The smoke fish plate was really fun since it came with 2 types of crackers, olives, pickled jalapenos, and celery. Service was good. Our only unhappiness was with the beer selection on tap.

Picked a bad night to go. Short staffed. Bartender was kind. Server basically told us food would take a while. I worked in a restaurant while in college. So I can appreciate the struggle. You are a restaurant, service is your business! With service like that you should consider closing your doors. You piss off more customers than you please. Unfortunately I won't visit this restaurant again. Waiter with the beard was honest but a douche master. Good luck guys. After leaving MurDICKS My Brother suggested masons. Once I found out it was the same owners, I refused to give this business any money.

Hamburguer was great. Big juicy and well seasoned. Option of Sweet potatoe fries even better! Prices are very decent. Has Outdoor seating and bar area. There was a guy playing the guitar the day we went for lunch (sunday), decor is low key, rustic and simple. Overall will come back for another burguer of the mood strikes.

A pal of mine and I decided to take a day trip to Cocoa Beach and we stopped at the quaint little shopping town known as Cocoa Village. With a smattering of antique stores, specialty shops and restaurants, this little shopping strip proved to be a fun place to spend an hour or two. My friend and I decided to have a bite to eat and we ventured in to Murdock's. Once inside this cozy little eclectic joint, decorated with a variety of antique architectural embelishments, we were greeted and informed that we could seat ourselves, which we did. On a Sunday afternoon, there were a fair amount of patrons, but we were greeted by our server quite promptly and service was smooth throughout our visit. This was impressive seeing that our server was also in charge of the front bar and she was effectively juggling serving our table and serving her other guests at the bar - well done. I ordered the catfish tacos (fried) and my lunch mate ordered the open face meatloaf sandwich. Catfish was fried crispy and laid in soft taco skins with veggies that were fresh and laden with a creamy sauce that was less tangy than a thousand island - quite good. The portions of catfish were generous and the french fries that came with the meal were spicy brown fries, nice and crunchy. My friend's meatloaf sandwich was smothered with a brown gravy that he thoroughly enjoyed. The meatloaf itself was about an inch and a half thick, cooked quite well and came with mashed potatoes - quite a hearty meal which proved to be a bit too much for him to polish off. Ah well, that's what take-out boxes are for after all. There were plenty of other lunch specials on the menu, which had a very American bistro kind of feel, and everything seemed to be fairly priced ($$ out of $$$$$). Murdocks's has a well stocked bar with a variety of bottled and draft beers on tap, so if you are up for a "wet your whistle" kind of afternoon, you can pop in here, grab a drink and watch a sports game on one of their many flat screen tvs. Plenty of outdoor seating was available (ample space was located on the front street and in a covered porch space in the back area) and dogs were indeed welcome. Quite an enjoyable afternoon lunch experience. I do believe I will visit this place again soon when next I am in the area. Check them out if you're in the Cocoa area for a beach day.

Came to Cocoa beach after our first stop on a cruise (Carnival Splendor). Unfortunately we came during the polar flipping vortex in January so Florida was at a cool 39 degrees this day. We walked around the shopping center that was pretty much a ghost town and came here after the massively disappointing magic shop... okay im ranting.... TO THE REVIEW!!! i loved this place. maybe it was the quaintness (i hope that's a word) or the very very VERY cheap prices for alcohol. I'm from NYC and 7 bucks is cheap for alcohol, this place was $4 for a cup of whiskey and coke (actually a splash of coke). My girlfriend and i ate some of the "local dishes" and while i cant remember all of them (please see above about $4 drinks), i wont forget the jalapeno corn bread.... a-maze-balls. Lastly, we sat at the bar and spoke with Erin. Shes the best bartender i have ever met. Super responsive and attentive. if you take the ride on the 8 day Carnival Splendor Cruise from NYC, Cocoa Beach will be the first stop. Go here after the beach (or before) and tell Erin her NY friends said hello!

Some very, very good food in an old former grocer's store way down Brevard. They've got a very cool selection of beers too, culminating in the very dangerous Swamp Ape - something I'll never drink again, but more power to them for carrying it. Had jalapeno corn bread and possibly the best BLT I've ever eaten. Thick cut smoked B, some very crispy L, and fried green T made it really great. Our server was really friendly, but the bartender turned the music way up when our toddler bonked her head and let out a yelp. Hey, sorry bro. My kid's a klutz. Disappointed start to finish. Very limited menu for non fish eaters. The management is opening a new restaurant and had actually sent food to the new restaurant so the menu was actually smaller than normal. $9 for a hamburger, I'd rather be at Five Guys. Very doubtful we will return.

Nice little bar with some picnic style seating outside. Location is really nice...but don't wander off too far (there is a sketchy area not too far away). Prices were good, selection of beers was average, especially those on tap. I'm conflicted about the service. Wait staff was friendly to me but I overheard some odd interactions with seemingly neutral patrons. My friend ordered a black & tan but it was just Guinness. We didn't try the food...just drinks. They closed @ 11p on a Fri night...kinda early in my opinion, but it was pretty empty at that point. If we're in the area again, we may return.

Went there last night. Been there a couple of times before but not in the last few months. The first thing we noticed was a change of menu. Didn't have what they used to have. A glass of wine and a simple burger would be all. Wife wanted well done and I wanted medium rare. With my back to the wall I could see the bartender unscrew the cap on a bottle of wine that you can buy at the drugstore for $4.99. They charged $ 9.00 per glass the burgers were $ 8.99. The burgers finally arrived. Mine had a nice pink plastic spear in it. Wife wAs fine and mine was over done. Not happy but I was going to eat it anyway . A person walked passed and asked if everything was ok. I showed him my burger And asked him if it was even medium rare. He said it wasn't and took it back saying he would bring another. While I watched my wife finish off her meal, I waited. When new burger arrived it was even more well done and dried out. Ate some of it while wife watches. Finally put most of the burger down. Waitress asked if the second burger was better and I told her it was worse. Didn't have to pay for the burger but why would I ever go back there? Clearly there has been a change in ownership or management. Hamburger fail.not happy at all. Would rather pay more for a better burger than have a free bad one.

Absolutely love this place. Great food and drinks. The owners and staff are wonderful. We go there about once a week. They have very good live music several nights a week (Big Jim is incredible). I love the fried chicken salad and have had it at least a dozen times. It certainly is not cut up chicken fingers like someone else said. Great catfish, catfish tacos, fried chicken, cornbread, fried pickles, burgers and salads. One of the few places I can say I have never had a bad meal. Very nice beer and wine selection and the bartenders make killer martinis. Just a very cool and friendly place.

So this is the second gem I found in Cocoa Beach. Found this place in Yelp following the Space Coast Marathon! The food is great. Bloody Mary is like a small salad with alcohol. For lunch I had a Meatloaf sandwich and it was very flavorful and robust. Didn't need hot sauce either! The kettle chips also were to die for! Food took a little longer than usual but it was worth the wait! A must do when you are here.

They were out of honey mustard sauce for the chicken fingers. One person in the party ordered fried chicken and requested ranch as a dipping sauce for her meal. Before it arrived, waitress brought out ranch dipping sauce for the chicken finger app and said that was the "last of the ranch". We saved it for her. I ordered the Apple Gorgonzola salad and was very specific to request absolutely no cheese be placed on the salad. It arrived covered in Gorgonzola. I had to send it back, and since it was just a salad, they were quick to fix it. One person requested barbecue sauce for her pulled pork, and it didn't arrive until everyone was boxing up their meals to take home. Drinks weren't refilled as often as they could have been, despite the fact we were one of two tables dining at the time. The kicker was that everyone, besides me since I only ate salad, left the establishment with an upset stomach. If you like greasy fried food with below average service, this is the place for you. Otherwise, steer clear.

We wandered randomly on a Saturday during football season and were happy to find the games on the tvs! They have a giant big screen just off the dining room. I had the shrimp and sausage po boy which was spicy and delicious. My boyfriend had the bacon and cheddar dog from the $5 game day menu which was giant and pretty darn tasty. This is my first time to Murdock's Bistro. My husband and I stopped in because of the southern decor on the outside. It was Sunday at 11 a.m. The restaurant was not full. We opted to sit outside. Upon being seated the hostess got us water and told us that a waitress will be with us shortly. It took 15 minutes before the waitress acknowledged us. I started to order and she looked at me, shocked, and said, "oh, you are ready to order." I ordered the Catfish Po' Boy (fried) and my husband ordered a bucket of domestic beer. It took 20 minutes for the beer to come out and after 45 minutes, the waitress came over to us and told me my food will be out shortly. My husband asked her why it is taking so long, she answered, "we have two tables of 5 and they are ahead of you. After their food is served, your food will be out. So about 10-15 minutes." My husband was ready to cancel the food and leave, but I told him, maybe the food will be worth the wait, just give it a chance. Well, 20 minutes later, my food finally came. No apologies from the waitress. I took a bite and the food was nothing more than a McFish from McDonalds. There was a dash of sauce, but no cajon seasoning, no flavor, nothing fantastic. I was too hungry to stop, I needed something to help me walk to the next restaurant so I ate the catfish and my husband finished my fries. I didn't bother with the hotdog bun the catfish was in. We waited another 15 minutes for the waitress to come by so we can get our check. My husband was fed up with the service so we went inside to pay for our check. We will NEVER come back or recommend this place to anyone. I have no idea why the service was so bad and had no time to tell the staff what a disappointment the restaurant was.

Looking for a place to dine after Oktoberfest, we found Murdock's a welcome destination. Around 8:30pm, the place was hopping with music and the Florida game was on the TV above the bar...perfect! Great menu selections from burgers to full dinner selections. I was pleased to find several Cajun choices including Po-Boys and shrimp and grits. I ordered the Flat Iron Steak, others in party ordered fish tacos, burger, and pulled pork. All delicious with generous portions. Fries were hand cut....too salty with spice. I recommend you have them go light on it or not add altogether. Server was very friendly and attentive. It was a fun and enjoyable experience. Going back for the shrimp and grits!

I've been here a few times over the past 6 months. I really want to like this place. It has a cool eclectic vibe that I find very inviting. However, we are consistently disappointed by poor service and average food. One time we had a great server, but for the most part I've felt ignored and a bother to those working here. Our server last time appeared to be completely stoned and was just going through the (very slow and inattentive) motions. After multiple visits I can say that the food and service aren't victims of "one bad night syndrome", it's actually a systemic problem. As much as I want to like this place, I'm tired of throwing away my money. I'd consider coming here to have a beer at the bar, but that's it. This place has potential, but I can't afford to wait for them to find it.

Denny's food with a little attitude.., if not for the live music I would not see the point... It used to try for a more upscale palate, but the ambitious food is gone.... Meager beer selection and wine tasted old. Bring back the old menu and increase the beer selection and it may be worth another visit.

I live up the road in cocoa, and murdocks is my default place for a relaxing, sometimes odd, lunch or dinner. Pretty much any server you get is going to be quirky, which in my book is usually a good thing. The place is a lovingly restored old building, and i could just sit there with a beer all day and appreciate the architecture. I know some people have commented on the food not being that good, but here's what i've had, and it's all been delicious: the fish dip, the fish tacos, and the fried chicken. And the drinks are always strong, so you know the bartenders good. Another thumb up for the fact that they have outside tables and are always super friendly to my crazy dog.

A pal of mine and I decided to take a day trip to Cocoa Beach and we stopped at the quaint little shopping town known as Cocoa Village. With a smattering of antique stores, specialty shops and restaurants, this little shopping strip proved to be a fun place to spend an hour or two. My friend and I decided to have a bite to eat and we ventured in to Murdock's. Once inside this cozy little eclectic joint, decorated with a variety of antique architectural embelishments, we were greeted and informed that we could seat ourselves, which we did. On a Sunday afternoon, there were a fair amount of patrons, but we were greeted by our server quite promptly and service was smooth throughout our visit. This was impressive seeing that our server was also in charge of the front bar and she was effectively juggling serving our table and serving her other guests at the bar - well done. I ordered the catfish tacos (fried) and my lunch mate ordered the open face meatloaf sandwich. Catfish was fried crispy and laid in soft taco skins with veggies that were fresh and laden with a creamy sauce that was less tangy than a thousand island - quite good. The portions of catfish were generous and the french fries that came with the meal were spicy brown fries, nice and crunchy. My friend's meatloaf sandwich was smothered with a brown gravy that he thoroughly enjoyed. The meatloaf itself was about an inch and a half thick, cooked quite well and came with mashed potatoes - quite a hearty meal which proved to be a bit too much for him to polish off. Ah well, that's what take-out boxes are for after all. There were plenty of other lunch specials on the menu, which had a very American bistro kind of feel, and everything seemed to be fairly priced ($$ out of $$$$$). (Technically they get 3.5 stars, but I round up, not down.) This was my first visit to Murdock's Bistro, so when my mom-in-law told me we were coming here for lunch I promptly pulled up the Yelp app. I was happy with the dishes I'd seen pics of and a few of the entrees sounded really, really good! To start off, I have to let you know that there were nine of us in the party. That being said, our waitress was fabulous. Every time she checked on us I felt like she genuinely cared about our experience. If the food was as excellent as she was then I'd give Murdock's 5 stars with no hesitation. The first thing I tried was their fried pickles. I actually liked them quite a bit. They were almost too salty, though. Just kind of tiptoeing the line, I'd say. Maybe it was the batter, or maybe it was the kind of pickles they used. I couldn't tell. While I waited on my burger, I tried a raspberry lemonade. It was tart, but more over it was sweet, and I loved it. It was the best part of my meal. For my entree I ordered The Southerner. The Angus patty came out stacked with pimiento cheese, a fried green tomato, and two thick-cut slices of bacon. It came on what looked to be French bread rather than a bun, which is not mentioned in the menu, but still tasted good anyways. The burger was good, but non of the flavors really popped for me. I'd ordered it medium, but the burger was actually burnt, which I think got in the way of me really tasting everything else. After I doctored it up with some mayo and Tabasco sauce it was much more palatable, and even enjoyable. The restaurant was not busy when we arrived, so I don't understand why giving someone a burnt burger would be acceptable. Christoph ordered the Catfish Tacos. I asked him if he like them and he replied, "Yeah, but they're too salty". My husband is not huge on salt, but I am, so he gave me a bite just to see if it was his own reservations. He was right though. It was ridiculously salty. I'm talkin' a 9 out of 10 on the saltiness scale. It tasted like someone had knocked a can of Morton's onto the tacos. My husband was too polite to send them back, but he did let the waitress know. All in all, I'd say their menu was unique, but the food didn't hit the mark for me. I'd be willing to give them a shot the next time I'm in town, though.

Popped into this place while exploring the area. Nice outside seating and attentive service. We ordered the fried pickles as an appetizer; good though it'll make you feel a sodium overload once you've scarfed them down. The accompanying horseradish sauce was great. I ordered the fried green tomato BLT, the bread was fresh and soft though I felt the tomatoes to bread ratio was low, a couple more tomatoes could fix that. The husband had the fried catfish poboy and didn't complain. Overall it was a good enough experience worth coming back and trying other items on the menu.

Okay, here's the deal. We Don't come here often. Last time was with wife and adult daughter and we sat at bar and had a great time with good food and excellent service with a friendly attentive bartender. This time, however, was a totally different experience - in fact, quite disappointing and maddening. After a long cost-to-coast 6 hour plane flight I just wanted to chill, so Wife and I sat at bar again intending to enjoy some wine and dinner. Place was Not too busy, but was ignored for close to 10 minutes before offered any service. The bartender,Derrick, acted as if we were an annoyance rather than paying customers. Ordered house red, but not sure what we ended up with as he never bothered to offer or tell us what he had or poured. Never did serve us our water we requested and had to flag down another bartender who was a little more attentive, but only after I complained. Ordered a sushi appetizer (remember, place very empty) took about 30 mins to get it - I guess they had to go catch it first. Was terrible, full of fish fat, couldn't eat it. Requested bill, which took another 10 minutes to get. Overall, $50 for a total crap experience - but at least the music was good. Should've drove right home from the airport rather than waste my time and money on a place that could've cared less whether we were there, or not. Again, very disappointed.

We are always looking for good music venues and this place fits the bill. Great sound and food - you don't have to compromise! The night we went Brian Smalley was playing which is why we tried it. This was acoustic fingerstyle guitar, high energy, and spectacular, The entrees are $12-17 and were worth it. No pub grub. We tried the smoked mahi appetizer (maybe a little salty), thai shrimp wrap with a side of jalapeno cheese grits, and grilled flat iron steak with garlic spinach. The smoke fish plate was really fun since it came with 2 types of crackers, olives, pickled jalapenos, and celery. Service was good. Our only unhappiness was with the beer selection on tap.

Picked a bad night to go. Short staffed. Bartender was kind. Server basically told us food would take a while. I worked in a restaurant while in college. So I can appreciate the struggle. You are a restaurant, service is your business! With service like that you should consider closing your doors. You piss off more customers than you please. Unfortunately I won't visit this restaurant again. Waiter with the beard was honest but a douche master. Good luck guys. After leaving MurDICKS My Brother suggested masons. Once I found out it was the same owners, I refused to give this business any money.

I only come here a few times a year when I'm in town, but the atmosphere is always great & the food is fab! Good live music on a regular basis and appropriate for the kids at dinner time.

Went there last night. Been there a couple of times before but not in the last few months. The first thing we noticed was a change of menu. Didn't have what they used to have. A glass of wine and a simple burger would be all. Wife wanted well done and I wanted medium rare. With my back to the wall I could see the bartender unscrew the cap on a bottle of wine that you can buy at the drugstore for $4.99. They charged $ 9.00 per glass the burgers were $ 8.99. The burgers finally arrived. Mine had a nice pink plastic spear in it. Wife wAs fine and mine was over done. Not happy but I was going to eat it anyway . A person walked passed and asked if everything was ok. I showed him my burger And asked him if it was even medium rare. He said it wasn't and took it back saying he would bring another. While I watched my wife finish off her meal, I waited. When new burger arrived it was even more well done and dried out. Ate some of it while wife watches. Finally put most of the burger down. Waitress asked if the second burger was better and I told her it was worse. Didn't have to pay for the burger but why would I ever go back there? Clearly there has been a change in ownership or management. Hamburger fail.not happy at all. Would rather pay more for a better burger than have a free bad one.

We went here on the spur of the moment. It was blues night and they had a small group which was pretty decent. we had burgers which were average. Not a bad experience but not remarkable food.

This is my first time to Murdock's Bistro. My husband and I stopped in because of the southern decor on the outside. It was Sunday at 11 a.m. The restaurant was not full. We opted to sit outside. Upon being seated the hostess got us water and told us that a waitress will be with us shortly. It took 15 minutes before the waitress acknowledged us. I started to order and she looked at me, shocked, and said, "oh, you are ready to order." I ordered the Catfish Po' Boy (fried) and my husband ordered a bucket of domestic beer. It took 20 minutes for the beer to come out and after 45 minutes, the waitress came over to us and told me my food will be out shortly. My husband asked her why it is taking so long, she answered, "we have two tables of 5 and they are ahead of you. After their food is served, your food will be out. So about 10-15 minutes." My husband was ready to cancel the food and leave, but I told him, maybe the food will be worth the wait, just give it a chance. Well, 20 minutes later, my food finally came. No apologies from the waitress. I took a bite and the food was nothing more than a McFish from McDonalds. There was a dash of sauce, but no cajon seasoning, no flavor, nothing fantastic. I was too hungry to stop, I needed something to help me walk to the next restaurant so I ate the catfish and my husband finished my fries. I didn't bother with the hotdog bun the catfish was in. We waited another 15 minutes for the waitress to come by so we can get our check. My husband was fed up with the service so we went inside to pay for our check. We will NEVER come back or recommend this place to anyone. I have no idea why the service was so bad and had no time to tell the staff what a disappointment the restaurant was.

Looking for a place to dine after Oktoberfest, we found Murdock's a welcome destination. Around 8:30pm, the place was hopping with music and the Florida game was on the TV above the bar...perfect! Great menu selections from burgers to full dinner selections. I was pleased to find several Cajun choices including Po-Boys and shrimp and grits. I ordered the Flat Iron Steak, others in party ordered fish tacos, burger, and pulled pork. All delicious with generous portions. Fries were hand cut....too salty with spice. I recommend you have them go light on it or not add altogether. Server was very friendly and attentive. It was a fun and enjoyable experience. Going back for the shrimp and grits!

I've been here a few times over the past 6 months. I really want to like this place. It has a cool eclectic vibe that I find very inviting. However, we are consistently disappointed by poor service and average food. One time we had a great server, but for the most part I've felt ignored and a bother to those working here. Our server last time appeared to be completely stoned and was just going through the (very slow and inattentive) motions. After multiple visits I can say that the food and service aren't victims of "one bad night syndrome", it's actually a systemic problem. As much as I want to like this place, I'm tired of throwing away my money. I'd consider coming here to have a beer at the bar, but that's it. This place has potential, but I can't afford to wait for them to find it.

Great for bar food. I had the pulled pork special and was looking forward to a great sandwich. What I got was slightly better than crock pot pork roast. I have ate there before and been very happy, otherwise I would have gave them 2 stars.

Denny's food with a little attitude.., if not for the live music I would not see the point... It used to try for a more upscale palate, but the ambitious food is gone.... Meager beer selection and wine tasted old. Bring back the old menu and increase the beer selection and it may be worth another visit.

I live up the road in cocoa, and murdocks is my default place for a relaxing, sometimes odd, lunch or dinner. Pretty much any server you get is going to be quirky, which in my book is usually a good thing. The place is a lovingly restored old building, and i could just sit there with a beer all day and appreciate the architecture. I know some people have commented on the food not being that good, but here's what i've had, and it's all been delicious: the fish dip, the fish tacos, and the fried chicken. And the drinks are always strong, so you know the bartenders good. Another thumb up for the fact that they have outside tables and are always super friendly to my crazy dog.

This place has really delicious food. We came in on a sunday and had brunch mimosas and sandwiches. The guacamole burger was huge but so so good! Very fresh ingredients, cooked exactly how I asked for it. The fried okra side was also very tasty. The mimosas were delicious. We will definitely be back.

Get the brunch special Bloody Mary. You won't need anything else. Piled high with a pickle, whole jalapeno, six olives, tomato, slices of cucumber, and celery. It was like a mini vegetarian meal in a glass. (Plus vodka!) We only had chips and queso (seems to be home made) but I am sure the food must be delicious. Bartender was awesome. We just sat and hung out for hours. The best experience I've had at a bar in Florida to date.

Food is OK to good, but the wait staff is bipolar. Sometimes good and other times, really awful. We actually had one tell us about a party the night before, with too much drinking and the hangover that was causing the bad service. Note to sever: - I don't care why you suck at your job, I just want you to stop sucking at it... There are too many other places to go to

I went here with some friends a couple of months ago and enjoyed the food tremendously. I have stopped in here during a craft show in downtown Cocoa village to drink a beer, but I had never eaten here before. Their food was awesome. I can definitely recommend the fish tacos. They also had all kinds of great burgers too. They also had a good selection of beers, both domestic and imported, but they were out of many of them the night we were there, so no plus there for me. I can understand being out of a couple, but it started to become a joke, me asking for one and him telling me they were out of it. I wanted to try something different and new for me but ended up with a Guinness. I have to say the service was bad and my friend who has been there before said that's usually how it is. There seemed to be one server and a guy tending the bar and that's it for front line staff. They have an indoor dining area, a bar and an outdoor dining area too. This is not fine dining though as all inside areas are surrounded by the bar. I would go back for the food, but they seriously need to work on the service and keeping everything in stock too. Parking is usually limited to parallel street parking, but there is business parking lot in back you could park in after hours...I think it's a bank.
