Came to Clewiston on a boat trip. Staying at Roland Martin marina. After two days of poor service and so-so food at the Tiki bar we decided to try this place since it was in walking distance. Yes it is a dive, but the food was really good. We started with the fried green tomatoes and they were awesome. I had the pot roast special, my husband had the fried pork chops and my teenage girls had the chicken Wingettes. All were very tasty. Our waitress was pleasant and the service was excellent. My dinner came with banana pudding which was pretty good. My daughter and husband got the chocolate pie and pecan pie (also good). My only complaint is my pot roast was luke warm but everyone else's food was piping hot. Not sure when I'll be back in Clewiston again, but I would come back. As for the bathrooms, the previous reviewer must've been there on a bad night. I've definitely seen worse.

Friendly, unhurried, home-made small-town restaurant. Food's fine. Sit down and gear down and slow down and enjoy the Elvises, the chicken and the pecan pie.

Yum,yum, and more yum. Friendly fast service with smiling faces. Being a chicken liver and fried green tomato lover that's what I ordered for lunch. Absolutely delicious. Way too much food for one person. Must be some big eaters in Clewiston! However, I reheated leftovers two days later and they were amazingly scrumptious as side dishes. I highly recommend this little jewel of a dive!. As one reviewer said it does look like it might have been a gas station at one point. I think so too as the bath rooms still do. But that aside it's now covered with fun Elvis memorabilia and prices are quite reasonable. Our waitress even gave us a refill on our pop with in a to go cup!

I read the review of the so-called biker on YELP and strapped the wife on the scooter and headed to the lake. An absolute shit hole it was. Only redeeming part were the fried dill pickles that were outstanding! I had fried chicken after all is in the feaking name of this place. No flavor at all, just bland friend flour like shit burgers. Slaw was pretty good, but french fry's were over cooked. Wife had the fried catfish and said the same thing no flavor at all. Guess they didn't get the memo about the 11 herbs & spices from the Colonel. As for the the local culture, the toothpick thin waitress had 2 front teeth and they weren't together. The bathroom was disgusting and out of paper towels to wash your greasy hands on. Left there and down the road a piece to Roland Martins tiki bar & Marnia complex. We had a beer there with lots of "Like Minded People" all dressed in black t-shirts & leather. Next time we will eat there. These Dixie folks should move to KY and learn to flavor their food! As for Michael y the so-called biker should maybe get a real motorcycle and quit reviewing biker friendly places. Can-Am Spyders are not motorcycles.

Chicken & dumplings are the best but... Only Son & Wed. Fried chicken is great too.

We like fried chicken gizzards but it is hard to find tender ones. This place makes them just right. Flavorful and tender. We discovered them a couple of years ago just driving thru from Miami and now we try to stop when we can. Today, we got a large order ($10). A little pricey but good gizzards. Chicken and catfish look good, so we will try them when we have time to eat in.

Amazing slice of Americana. Feels like I'm in a Cohen brothers movie. Country fried steak was delicious. Mike clearly doesn't know what he's talking about. His shiny toy motorcycle looks like the kind that you pay two tickets to ride in circles at the county fair.

Classic old Florida cracker cafe - indulged in some chicken gizzards that were great. can't wait to try the gator on my next trip through Clewiston.

A hidden treasure. Ambience is warm and friendly kitsch, with Elvis memorabilia on every wall and a Christmas tree newly decorated for every season. We stopped in for breakfast. My husband got the biscuits and gravy. Biscuits were tender and the gravy flavorful. I got the fried catfish and eggs. The fish was amazing. Tender, flaky, perfectly cooked. Or server told us that the catfish, gator and frog legs are all locally caught. We'll be back to try more.

Is is GREAT fried chicken? No. But the place has a character that is pure Americana from the epic collection of Elvis memorabilia to the time capsule qualities of the menu items. Yes, it's old and it's dirty but in a charming Mayberry, USA kind of way and worth a try for the nostalgic value alone.

Very good fried chicken; friendly and efficient service and clean. We shared a 4 pc. Only reason for a 4 star is cuz the French fries weren't done enough and were a little soggy.

Dixie Fried Chicken is awesome. When driving coast to coast in south Florida, I will never take Alligator Alley again! Located in sleepy Clewiston, this place is the real deal. Country Cookin at its finest! Fried Chicken Livers, Okra, Grouper - I'm in heaven. Stacie will take good care of you. Local cops, families with kids, young and old - all love this place. You will, too!

A local family neighborhood restaurant. The cakes are home made. There alligator tale is really good they use corn meal to bread it. Today I had the Grouper Sandwich and fries for $5.99. Way better than the fast food restaurant. They also serve breakfast all day.

Salad came with rotten vegetables and waitress had nasty attitude. We were ignored after food was served even though rotten salad sat untouched on side of table.

Pretty sweet deal for a 4 piece and fries for 5 bucks. Chicken was hot, crispy, and juicy. Pretty basic flavor but it was still good. Don't recommend the popcorn shrimp. They were the bleh from the freezer kind. Service and sweet tea were good too.

Great Motorcycle stop. The manager told me they just brought in some fresh caught lake okeechobee catfish and they were making a fresh pot of grits!! See my pics. Red and white checker tables, cue tip patrons with their straw cowboy hats on. plastic silverware, and styrofoam cups and plates. The Catfish was not greasy the fresh cornmeal batter was delish and , made to order, so expect to wait. Eggs were cooked the way I like it. Breakfast was a 4, service is a 2..... SLOW. the local culture and the experience...Priceless. it was worth the 1hr ride on the spyder.

Great place to go. It was the first restaurant I went to in Florida. They had a special on Alligator tail and frog legs. Since I never tried both of them, I decided to order it. Great meal. I wish they had this type of stuff in California.

We rode to Lake Okochobee from Naples, then lunched at Dixie Fried Chicken. I love fried chicken. What first impressed me as we rode into the parking lot was how quaint the outside was painted up. We walked inside and I was pleasantly greeted by the smell of home cooking and fried chicken. I ordered the 2 piece, thigh and breast. Marsha ordered fried chicken livers which I love also. We split our meals and both of us were smiling from ear to ear with the quality. Randy ordered chicken fried steak, Bob and Cheryl ordered fish and shrimp. We all raved about our food and the service. We tipped our waitress 30%. Great food, service and friendly people. We'll be back soon.
