Akina Menu

Sorry, We are updating this restaurant menu details.

Delishious sushi. Only thing keeping this from being 5-star is this is my first review, and I can't let the first review get a perfect score. That said, this place did inspire me to post my first review. Tons of variety (we were a big group and tried a lot of different rolls), each was superb. Try the Temptation Roll (it has peaches on top). We had sweet & sour chicken, too, which was also very tasty. Service was great, and the food came out quickly considering the amount of sushi we ordered. Great sushi spot. Probably best in Clermont.

Akina features an extensive sushi menu. Sushi was good, it ranks up there with some great sushi, not the best I've had though. All a bit on the pricey side. Ambience is nice, and the service was excellent. I mean excellent. Our server was the star of our visit. I recommend Akina as solid sushi experience in Clermont.

Great service! Very tasty dishes!!Staff is very helpful & attentive. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone! Plus is very clean & well kept, I drove 45mins just to come to this restaurant. It's surely worth the drive every time!!

My wife and I are staying in Clermont and had a hankering for some sushi. We had tried a few places here before, and liked Akina the best. It was almost 830 when we got unpacked and such, and they closed at 9, so we ordered takeout. Our food was very fresh, and they were really fast. Of the rolls we ordered, the fireball was our favorite. I believe we'll be eating here again.

This is the best sushi and sashimi that I have found in Lake County (so far). It's a bit pricy but sushi generally is. We love their rolls but I do find that the sashimi portions are very large. Service has been stellar and they have remembered us every time that we come in which is surprising, but I guess they were amazed that a first time sushi eater would eat sashimi in one fell swoop, so they always are extra friendly. Cold beer just makes me even happier. Just the best. One disappointing thing: Pad Thai isn't their thing...stick to the sushi. We really love the Seattle roll.

Pass this one up! Slow service and tasteless food were the highlights of our visit! Not very accommodating to special requests and what I did receive was not what I asked for at all.... Hubby said his general Tso's chicken was awful! Very much a waste of time and money!

AMAZING sushi. The restaurant is large with plenty of seating. Very clean and minimal design. You can sit at the bar or sit at the table. We ordered Miso Soup (which was wonderful) and spicy/regular edamame as an appetizer (both were wonderful and if you like spicy it's a good choice). Mother-in-law ordered hot tea and she said it was very good. We ended up ordering 8 rolls and two hand rolls. All the sushi was amazing and very fresh, my favorite was the locomotive roll. Very quick service didn't have to wait forever to get all our rolls. Overall, will definitely be returning again.

Ordered pad Thai It so soaked with this sweet rich sugar sauce I could barely eat it. I was engage with good company, so I didn't say a thing even though I didn't even finish my meal. But at the end the owner she came by and asked how everything was. I politely let her know what I thought, she told me that this dish needed all that sauce for the noodles would not stick together. Her answer was so ridiculous I just went with it because I didn't want to engage . She promptly made excuses defending her food that next time I should order it with less sauce. She was clearly trying to control the conversation not even listening to me, so I didn't even bother telling her that there was only three small shrimp in the dish and about 1 ounce of chicken and no heat whatsoever . Why even ask if you're not going to listen to what I have to say. Less than Chinese take out quality here.

Great local spot for fresh food and friendly service, servers are very knowledgeable of the menu and the owner is a great person. She remembers her customers and is always happy to see them. Rolls are always fresh and they are willing to accommodate your needs. They also have a full kitchen for people that are not into sushi. This location is very seasonal with the snowbirds coming down from the north. I recommend trying this place. Enjoy!

We ordered take out and were not at all impressed. The lo mein was better than the sushi. They put all the sushi in one box which sucked for the guy that doesn't like salmon. My California roll tasted like salmon.tgere was not nearly enough soy sauce or wasabi. The food was way overpriced as well.

Excellent food! We had the Korean soup and the spicy beef - best we've had anywhere!

Loved them since the day they opened - so happy to see them flourish over the years - love their fried rice, sushi, and miso soup.

Fresh, not frozen saku block(cold smoked) tuna and perfectly executed rice. Crazy roll is the bomb. Actual experienced chefs and not some 18 yr old kid pretending to be a sushi chef. My wife like the mongolian beef and the krispy beef entrees.

After almost a week of dissatisfying, unhealthy and over-priced food in the Disney vortex, we were dying to eat something clean, healthy, and flavorful. And while my 7 and 10 year olds would never admit it, their little bodies and minds were craving the same. A brief internet search uncovered Akina, just a 15 minute drive from our Disney-area resort on 192. While the journey took only 15 minutes, it was a transformative one. We are big eaters of sushi back home, and know from good sushi. Our experience at Akina was excellent in every way. The server was incredibly kind to the kids, and genuinely engaged them. They had a kids' menu with real food on it, too -- no chicken fingers, hallelujah. Tasty, simple chicken teriyaki, noodles. The edamame disappeared in no time, too. For my wife and I, exceptionally flavorful miso soup, truly the best I've had. It can often be overly watery, or too salty, but this one hit the happy medium. I could almost feel the nutrients returning to my body. They have a lovely selection of salads; I highly recommend the homemade kim chi salad. And finally, the sushi. They have a wide variety of creative rolls. The portions of fish (in rolls, and nigiri) were generous, fresh, and delicious. The whole thing was affordable, too. Disney vacationers, break away from the buffet cattle call, and head to Akina. And by all means bring the kids.

Just checked Akina out on Sunday for dinner and I was very impressed. We had three rolls: Volcano, Mexican and Heaven. All three were very good but I'd have to say we liked the Mexican and the Heaven a bit more than the Volcano. My 8 year old also was with us and it's good to know that kids eat free on Tuesdays and Sundays from a limited kid's menu. I think there were maybe 5 things on the list but my kid picked chicken terriyaki and loved it down to the last bite. The atmosphere is nice and clean and the staff was very helpful. We'll be going back to explore more rolls as it was really hard to narrow down our selection. Looking forward to the Louisiana roll next time. Who wants to go?

I was expecting much more based on other reviewers. However, we experienced "just ok" sushi and ended up with a lousy waitress. Would've been a 3, if not for the waitress... Overall Rating: 2 - Meh. I've definitely experienced better. The place needs updating and the table we had felt sticky.. not sure how old the place is but it had several chips in the wall against our table and I noticed the carpet was dirty and the seams were coming apart in a major area of the room. It is unfortunate that it is so small but I think a little more thought to the decor should have been considered. Basically, it reminded me of a food court inside, very noisy and crowded, although much of the noise came from a large group seated near the sushi bar.. A few strategically placed plants could even help divide the place up a little. My husband commented that the bathroom was in need of a scrubbing. One good note from him on the bathroom was that they had hot water and soap. Now.. back to the waitress... she didn't have answers to a couple of my questions regarding the sushi menu, nor did she seem interested in finding me the answers by asking someone else. In addition, when she brought out the sushi, she failed to give us chopsticks. My husband had to go and get them himself. She also forgot our napkins and we had to ask another staff member walking by. I had just put the last bite of sushi in my mouth and was still chewing when she came to take my plate. I prefer to finish eating what I have in my mouth before giving up my plate. Off it went before I knew it... On to the food... the rainbow roll was just ok. It had a tempura shrimp center. My husband ordered the albacore scallion roll and the salmon rolls with scallions added. They were so tiny but he said they were good. Our spicy scallop roll was lacking in flavor and presentation. Overall, I was just not impressed with the sushi. A nice touch which we get in many Japanese restaurants that we go to, are hot towels to wipe your hands clean before eating. They might want to consider this during the dinner hours. Playing some Japanese instrumental music would be good too for the ambiance. A few people nearby ordered hot items from the menu... crispy, sizzling chicken dishes... Not sure what they ordered but it all smelled and looked great. Clearly, we ordered the wrong stuff. IF we ever go back, which we might, we will definitely try the hot menu items and I hope to give a better rating for this place.

Being from California, our standards are higher for fresh food. But the entire Orlando tourist area was kinda a foodie vacuum. That said, for Florida sushi, it was probably great per the rest of the ratings. For someone who eats fresh sushi, it was mediocre. The restaurant served Thai, Korean, Japanese, Chinese and even Indian food. Um, would you eat Mexican, Italian, French, and German food from a Spanish cook? That said, the waiter was kind and polite. This is the best I can say.

Food: 4 Atmosphere: 3 Service: 3 Small open restaurant with table seating. Extensive sushi menu with lots of choices. Temptation roll is great. Really fresh looking food. Ordered off the menu and got a fairly tasty noodle dish. Good place to go for sushi time.

Typically I'd give Akina 5 stars, any day, and challenge you to a sushi competition with your local favorite. I'm, however, leaving it at 4 stars for now as my last dining experience was not what I considered "up to par" for this establishment. There was something definitely off with our rolls but I couldn't put my finger on what it was exactly. I've dined here 100+ times and never been disappointed. After my next visit I will revise this review in hopes that it was just an "off night."

Moderately busy for a Thursday night, prompt service, friendly staff, very nice and open atmosphere. Miso is somewhat subtle and a bit milky. Seaweed salad was good but drenched in sesame oil. The two specialty rolls - Candy cane and the Tsunami rolls were perfect!! Oh, and the water is good too... Might be tap water, but it's good! I would've rated a 5 but my expectations were set pretty high in D.C. and haven't found anything comparable yet. But this is the closest I've found from NW Orlando to Clermont. RECOMMENDED!! Went back about a month ago and the waiter was...... A LOT TO DEAL WITH! He was hovering over us and getting into our conversations without invitation.... Bumped down a star.... :(

This place is top notch. I hadn't had sushi in a few years since I was served bad sushi a a few years ago in downtown Orlando. My friend said this place would change my mind and he was right. This is the only place to go for sushi in Clermont, or in Orlando. They have all different types of unique rolls and it's all fresh. The service is a bit slow but the food makes up for it.

There's a debate in my house about whether this is a 4 or 5 star place. We have been here many times and will continue to be our favorite Asian restaurant in this area. My wife doesn't have 1 complaint. She loves the sushi, chicken fried rice, chicken terriyaki, and tempura. The price is reasonable and the modern Asian atmosphere is clean and comfortable. The service is always good. Now if I could just get a coke (they have pepsi) and a crunchy egg roll....

i have been on a sushi eating tear lately and i have a pile of take-out chopsticks to prove it. because of this i've eaten sushi from Clermont to Oveido so i have experienced them all. Akina is my go to place when i'm eating take-out, i have 3 places all within the same driving distance. first and foremost are the hours- open EVERY day till at least 9pm and a little later on weekends i think. i often dine at that in-between time when most sushi rest.'s close, not here open all day, every day.. second and actually most importantly is the food, the menu is good cause there's choices but not too many. features both cooked food and sushi choices. the Yaki Udon noodles are the best i've ever had anywhere! done in a stir-fry style so they're chewy but hearty at the same time. sushi is fresh and the rice always tastes freshly made. the rice people, fresh fish is very important but hard and stale rice will spoil a nigiri too. so many rest.'s don't change the rice unless its done. the decor is standard as is the location on the corner of a buis. complex across the street from a Publix. all that won't matter once you get your appetizer. anyways, if you find yourself on SR 27 in Clermont stop by, these people deserve the good reviews and you can tell they appreciate your buisness.

This was some GREAT sushi. I'm no expert but the meticulous attention to detail and artsy way this sushi was put together was fantastic! Order any off the selection and you will be fine. If you live in the area, try a different one every time you go. The food just EXPLODES in your mouth with sushi greatness and expertise of the chefs. I also ordered the "double oriental wonder." If you are a shrimp and scallop like be you will LOVE the preparation of this dish and the fresh tasting quality of it and the sushi. The scallops were so huge and soft! Now, I'm not one to say "hey, let's go out for sushi !" EVER. Why? Let's just say I'm aware of what raw ANYTHING can do to you. But I live on the wild side occasionally ( Montazuma"s revenge be damned!) and thoroughly enjoyed my "top of the line sushi" The atmosphere is subdued, at least the night I was there, the set up is strictly solitary table for two that will be pushed together for larger groups, in an open air spartan environment that does not encourage romantic overtures. But, hey, you went for good ASIAN food and sushi, right? Enjoy!

Great service. Unique menu. They offer something for everyone. This is definitely fusion but it is delicious and delightful. Do not be afraid of Akina because it is Fusion. The Sushi is super duper fresh. They have wonderful stuff like grilled jaw of yellow tail. YUM! They carry Uni but not all of the time. They offer a good variety of stuff and yes there is even plain old fashioned chinese fried rice for your picky kiddo who did not want to go to Akina in the first place. I have tried about half their menu and loved it all.

Ok. This used to b my favorite place. Took the family to this overpriced sushi joint weekly cuz the rolls are good. but service has gone down so far that after many problems we have avoided the place for almost 6 months now.. The pad tai is too sweet, very little protein in the hot dishes n the noodles were tasteless spaghetti noodles. These ppl are CHEAP but want us to pay top $$$ This one server is overbearing, and the others were clueless. This other waiter has such bad teeth that he stinks!! n we prayed we didnt have him everytime we walked through the door. He made me lose my appetite many times . The sushi chefs do nothing but fight behind the bar n don't communicate with waiters. Last time we were there, Our food sat on the counter for nearly 40 minutes although we had asked that it be brought to our table many times. (we watch that happen to other ppl time before) Our kids were done eating so we got up n left. The manager could not give too hoots about our complaints n nothing was ever offered to us. this was the last time we gave them a shot. Very disappointing. It used to b good. VERY BAD MANAGEMENT. As far as the rolls, anything without salmon is great. Good luck!!

We're regulars. Best local place to go to for the sushi. Itis excellent. The pad thai was disappointing: soggy noodles and doused with onions and peppers and two shrimp. C'mon-couldn't add a few more? I've been to plenty of Thai restaurants, onions and pepps were a first for this dish. I should have sent it back but I'm too nice. Otherwise the service and sushi is great. I'll still go back but I won't order the Pad Thai!

Enjoy!

I have been driving over from Windermere for years, beats anything in Orlando hands down. Try the Tokyo roll (not on the regular menu) you will not be disappointed!!

Lousy service. Been here four times now, every time the same. Waiters act like you're a bother, and if they mess up your order, somehow it's either your fault or no big deal. Sashimi and Sushi is good though. Rolls are lousy. Way too much rice, hardly any fish or avacado or shrimp or whatever else is supposed to be in the order. We won't be back, especially not now that Fancy Sushi has opened, which is WAY better by the way.

Oh man, do I love this place; great food, great service and the best desserts. I highly recommend the deep fried cheesecake, I had three slices the last time I was here (after dinner); the other desserts are good too.

Possibly the best sushi I have ever eaten. We only had take out so I can't rate the service but the girls that took my money both times were very nice. The mexican roll is our fave but all we tried were great, I don;t think you can go wrong. It wa so good we came back 3 nights later!

Best General Tso's chicken EVER!! I used to get General Tso's from our favorite Chinese restaurant in NY. Now - having Japanese style - I have found my new favorite! Lightly breaded instead of the thick caramel coating - is the way to go! And Lisa loves the vegetable dumplings !! (Goyzo!)

Best Japanese food in the Orlando area!!! The food here is awesome and fresh, the atmosphere is nice, & the service is great. I'd recommend the Louisiana, Temptation, Fireball, & the King Dragon Roll to those who come. If you're interested in a bit of Chinese flavor, the General Tso Chicken is Delicious! My family and I will definitely be back here when we're in Florida again.

Horrible!! Went in on a Friday evening during prime dining time and the place was dead. I soon found out why. Everything was overpriced. I ordered the Korean Shrimp & Chicken Soup Bowl (at $10). Unfortunately I've had a variety of cheap instant noodle-bowl soups that were better than this. Despite the menu saying rice noodles it only contained (a ton of) regular spaghetti and not much else. The hot peppers were burnt and tasted like crap (the waitress explained "just pick them out - that's what most people do"), and after also complaining that I didn't see any shrimp in it I was told "the chef only put in 4 shrimps - if you don't find them let me know" (there was ONLY four quarter-sized shrimps in the whole dish). The only vegetables in the soup was a few green onions. It was one of the cheapest dishes and at $10 for this crap I've gotten more sustenance and flavor from instant noodle bowls costing $1. The wife ordered a beef noodle dish that wasn't any better (it had spaghetti noodles as well). We felt ripped off but after complaining to the waitress it was obvious no one there cared. AVOID THIS PLACE!!!!

Enjoy!

Fresh, not frozen saku block(cold smoked) tuna and perfectly executed rice. Crazy roll is the bomb. Actual experienced chefs and not some 18 yr old kid pretending to be a sushi chef. My wife like the mongolian beef and the krispy beef entrees.
