My wife and I have been here several times. The sushi is always very fresh and they know what they are doing. Last night was no different. The sushi chef will make things for you that are not on the menu. Another time we took family for birthdays and sat at the hibachi table. The chef was funny and did 2 tables at the same time for 16 people and never missed a beat. We just went again and the Italian food was great. We had the chicken piccata and Italian sausage with peppers and onions, both very good. They also have about 22 beers on tap with a nice selection of craft beers. The staff is very friendly and bar area has TVs to keep up with sporting events. All this in a very nice atmosphere and decent prices The only complaint is the way you enter right into the bar. There should be a hostess stand at the side door so people will know to wait to be seated. We are looking forward to our next visit.

Got a Groupon deal so we went all the way from Tampa. The sushi was good but lunch special was kinda small portion.

Waitress sucks and seemed to goof off with some guy hitting on her instead of bringing my limes I asked for twice. Otherwise Chef Don was funny, great all around. The best hibachi food I have ever had. I hate zucchini and I ate every bit of it. Absolutly amazing. Ask for Chef Don, great cook. By the way, they have 2 for 1 drinks which is a plus and a free saki shot during the meal.

I visited this place on 9/6/13 after purchasing the groupon. I called in advance as the groupon stated to do. I was told to come on in. When we got there, we were confused as to where to wait to be seated as there is no podium. We walked around to the hibachi area because we thought there might be a podium there. The waitress was extremely rude (didn't catch her name as she never even told us-we will refer to her as Blondie)and did everything but roll her eyes at us. We came with a baby and told her we had a groupon as we are supposed to and she pre-judged our tipping capabilities, I am sure. We were seated and Blondie was rude when taking our drink orders. When we started to order 4 sets of sushi rolls and alcohol she started to change her tune just a little bit knowing our bill would be a decent amount even with the groupon (even though I always tip on pre-coupon amount, but anyway). She still was a horrible server. Our chef came out and things looked up a bit until all of our steak came out overcooked. The meat portions were scant at best. I have been here before and everything was much nicer. My guess is that since starting to advertise on groupon, there quality has gone down hill greatly. When leaving. ZBlondie did not even tell us goodbye or anything. I tipped her well just to prove to her that she needs to stop judging people. P.S. I even cleaned up well after my baby, thank you very much. Will NEVER go back unless it is to complain to management about Blondie. Horrible experience.

What an odd combo, sushi and Italian in the same restaurant. We had the sushi and nothing was a disappointment. We would return for the sushi for sure. They also have descent prices when you select it from a sushi combo instead of by the each.

Just had the rainbow roll, I killed it. I have always enjoyed my meals and service at Kobe Italian. The fresh sashimi slices and beautiful crafted rolls are presented like art pieces on uniquely crafted places on clean tables. Owen is the best sushi chef. Love this place

The food was delicious and the chef was very personable and fun. The only thing that kept me from rating this experience at a 5 was that the waitress told us that we could not get the hibachi combo meal for two with our restaurant.com certificate. We thought this was odd since we had used it before, and no restriction was printed on the menu or the certificate mentioning this. Luckily the people at the table with us had a restaurant.com certificate as well and said the same thing when they were told. The waitress went and checked with management and said that we could use it. I don't know if they made an "exception" for us or if the girl was actually wrong but I hope that they don't make this a normal rule or else we won't return. Beside that, the experience was great with the chef being fantastic and the food being plentiful and delicious. If you enjoy hibachi, you must visit Kobe. I first visited based on their participation with restaurant.com , but even if I didn't have a restaurant.com certificate and wanted hibachi, Kobe is where I would go. They definitely have the best deal of any hibachi restaurant. They offer a dinner combo for two that includes fried rice, noodles, vegetables, steak, chicken, shrimp and scallops, and of course the soup and salad before the meal. This whole meal deal, with more than enough food for two people only costs $32.99. At any other hibachi restaurant, you aren't going to even get away with a steak and chicken meal for one person for less than $25.00. Their food is great quality, excellent quantity and cooked by some really friendly and funny chefs. I would definitely recommend going here!

Never got to try the food. When we arrived we were not sure we were in the right place. When you walk in to the place you are in a dark bar and there is no sign of a restaurant. After walking around a bit we found it behind the bar area. We both ordered the filet and lobster tail and the waitress said they don't have Mai Tai's but she could make for us. We got Pineapple juice and Coconut rum. They had 1 chef on duty for a Saturday night and even though we had a full table. After we waited enough time to go through 2 rounds of drinks they sent the chef to another grill that only had 2 people at it. And they had only been waiting 5-10 minutes before. When we inquired why that was we were told a mistake was made, Even though that chef had not started that table we asked why he just doesn't start our table but all they said is it was a mistake and we would be next, (I would hope so since we were the only other table waiting). Realizing it would be another 20+ minutes we paid for the drinks and headed to Red Lobster, it really was the best move. So my quest for GOOD sushi and Teppanyaki in the Tampa area continues.

This place caught my eye when I was perusing Groupons for the day for its unusual title. I mean really, who combines a Japanese steakhouse and an Italian restaurant? This restaurant is located in the ICOT center in the location where the old Yuki restaurant was. A strip center restaurant, they have changed the space quite a bit from the previous incarnation. As soon as you walk in you are dead-face in front of a very large bar done in metal and silver and grey materials looking quite modern. They appear to have a large selection of beers on tap. We were immediately greeted and whisked around the bar to the backside of the bar where there is an entrance to a whole another room that contains six hibachi grills on each side. The grills are situated so that two occupy a very large seating area in a U-shape around them. The decorations for this area consist of black walls a few scattered Japanese looking paintings and track lighting. The ceiling is also painted black so all of the ductwork for the grills, the girls themselves and pretty much everything is just black. It's not a bad thing it's just a little odd for dining. We were seated on the other side of the you across from a party of seven. They were enjoying sushi and cocktails. At the time of our arrival which was around 7:30 PM on Friday night, there were only a few scattered people in this section, most of the people were seated at the bar or in the bar area and they were also enjoying sushi. We didn't spot anyone actually eating any Italian and we were there for the Italian either so I can't really comment on that. It is intriguing though. I went to wash up down a long corridor or which was cleverly designed to be in between the bar area and the hibachi area, divided by a paneled wall. Typical of strip center restaurants, the doors are lightweight but on strong springed hinges making them hard to open. The only reason I actually bring up the restroom is because typically it's a good sign of whether or not a restaurant actually takes care of itself in cleanliness. The decor in this restaurant is odd but the restroom seems to match the bar area and is done in a modern-type setting with shiny tile floors and walls mixed with black. There are two sinks and their mismatched one is a small white utilitarian looking sink that sort of reminds me a little bit of the kind you see in a movie for a psycho ward or jail the other one is quite nice with a very large bowl and an interesting spout that sort of resembles an old time water pump. Two urinals and one stall round out the appliances. There were quite a few air fresheners located throughout this restroom indicating bad circulation and the floor was sticky which is gross. Our server was a cute college aged girl that seemed quite friendly although I didn't really get her name. She explained that it was 2-for-1 on all wells, domestic draft beers, and bottled beers. We asked for a list of the bottled beers and were disappointed by the fact that most of them were domestic. They did have Kirin it coupon however so I ordered one of those in my wife ordered Kirin Light along with some water. We decided on ordering the special for two which we thought was only going to have one protein choice and vegetables it turned out that it actually comes with a small stake about 5 ounces, two chicken breasts, a pile of scallops, a pile of shrimp and these are not the small kind either, fried rice, lo mein, and mixed vegetables for $32. This is really a great price. We were served a small bowl of iceberg lettuce with ginger dressing and a small bowl of soup. The dressing was wonderful but the iceberg lettuce was not cut properly and was really rather bland by itself. The soup was equally disappointing it seemed to be mostly hot water with some floating scallions small pieces of mushroom and an onion or two but was truly bland. Thankfully all of this changed when our chef arrived. His name was Don and he was quite delightful. He managed to blend good humor and true skill together in an understandable routine that seemed to be tailored to my wife and I. Often when visiting these types of establishments you can tell that the chef is so bored with his mundane routine that it seems like he's just following a script, this was not the case with Don. Our meal was excellently prepared even with omitting butter and oil for my wife's portion. The only negative is that there needs to be just a little bit more in the vegetable category to compensate for such a large selection of proteins. After Don had finished cooking our meal and we spent the next 20 or so minutes eating it we were checked on a couple of times and had ordered another round of beers. By the time we were finished however, the restaurant added two large parties and our server seem to have disappeared. We waited unnecessarily for her to return to close out, an additional 15, or so, minutes. All in all I'd say that this place was worthy of a return trip if nothing else

I went to Kobe on a whim and if would be possible to give negative stars I would. We were sat very promptly and I asked for a highchair for my 18 month old son. We were given one without buckles on the straps. We had to flag someone down to get a new one. Unfortunately it got worse from here. So we ordered a bunch of sushi rolls from our server who couldn't wait to get away from our table to wait on other people since we only order water and about $35 in sushi. While we were waiting a stream of water came out from the fire suppression system all over ourselves and the table. It took a minute to flag someone down a we were moved to a different table without even a simple sorry. So after that our sushi arrived and the waitress ran away again and we were left without soy sauce or a bowl to put it in. My wife got up and grabbed one from anther table since our waitress could care less. The sushi looked nice but I took a whiff and it smelled absolute rancid. I passed on even trying some but my wife did and promptly spit it out. I got up and took my son out of his high chair and was trying to tell my waitress or someone that we would be leaving while not making a scene. Our waitress looked right at us knowing that she dropped off the food 2 minutes earlier and quickly looked away and continued on to her other customers that were obviously more important then us. That was it. I told my wife that we are leaving and nobody even looked in our direction as I walked around the entire bar trying to tell someone else that we were leaving because of the nasty food that was presented before us. This was in the top 3 worst restaurant experiences of my life and I plan on writing this review on every website that I can so that people don't get sick or have to go through what we went through. Do yourself a favor and go to any other restaurant in the world, you will be much better off.

I didn't think the atmosphere was any good, prices, food, service - only there once, but that's enough for me to lose money and not be happy! Didn't get the theme of the place and menu anyway.

Remember when this place was Yuki? Well, erase your memory of that dump. Kobe Italian has taken over this space and completely renovated. They still have hibachi tables and a sushi bar but that is where the comparison ends. I went here with a large group for lunch. We all ordered from the easy lunch menu that included 2 rolls, soup and salad for $8.99. The service was fast and excellent. The food was delicious. For a large group eating sushi I was impressed that we were in and out in an hour.

We are on vacation, had a late start to dinner, and found this restaurant just down from the hotel opened till 11pm online. We arrived at 10:10pm. As we walked in, the bartender announced they are closed. I said your sign states 11pm and online it said 11pm. She just said, "yeah, I know, sorry."

Ok so I ordered edemame, avocado sashimi and a eggplant Parmesan sandwich. Edemame great. Guess u can't screw that up. Sashimi great, but wtf happened with my eggplant Parmesan sandwich.(this place should stick with Asian) It was a soggy gooey mush. Bread was crispy on top. Gooey on bottom. I think from the week old eggplant being reheated on it. No way that was freshly cooked eggplant. Portion was HUGE for the half size. I assume it was nearing its expiration and they needed to get rid of it. Nice atmosphere. Servers great. Beer selection great but can't see the offerings because it's too dark and no lighting on the taps. I ordered miso soup and veggie fried rice. Miso soup was served too hot but tasted great! Fried rice was amazing. Like hibachi without the experience This place seriously needs to stick with Asian menu and 5 stars would be issued. I shouldnt have been allowed to order that goopy mess. Guess I'm the dumbass for ordering Italian at an Asian restaurant.

I enjoy this place. The food is always fresh and the people are polite. They always have groupon discounts and they have hibachi for 2 which is nice and affordable. Next time I would like to try the sushi rolls.

Very cool concept. The owners bought the CDB Italian franchise and years later opened a sushi/hibachi joint next door. Soon after, the wall between the two was torn down as if order so by the Gipper himself. Now what you have is a restaurant with Italian and Japanese menus, hence Kobe Italian. Laughable at first, but not after you've had the vittles. What we ordered: Fried shrimp app - Shrimps were big, but the flavor was lacking. They absolutely depended on the side sauce. Eggplant & Italian Sausage app - Very tasty. Sausage and cubed egg plant served in a bowl with marinara sauce. Too good for the price. Sashimi app - I didn't eat any of it because I had an entrée coming, but the portions were pretty large, and La Chica had a smile on her face while stuffing it, so I'm assuming it was all good. Chicken Bianco - Ahhh, a long lost friend of mine. I had to order it. It was my favorite dish at the old CDB that used to be at Hutchison and Ehrlich back in the day. It was good, as I remembered, but the sauce was different. It used to be more of a thin white wine sauce, but now it's more like a white wine alfredo. Still tasty, and still a recommended dish. Chicken, mushrooms, onions? Yum! Oh, and that bread they bring out to your table that is covered in garlic butter goodness is indeed Cuban bread. Props for that. The place was clean, well-organized and the staff was friendly. Our server could have been slightly more attentive though. She dipped out on us for long periods of time, and she also never brought us any water. I will definitely return though. We had the restaurant.com deal, and didn't experience any issues.

We go here a lot because it is located in the ICOT business center and my son is at Clearwater Ice Arena at least 3 or 4 times a week. When you first walk in you are at the bar and the Sushi Bar is off to the right. Immediately behind the bar, are tables and booths where you can order off the regular and Sushi menu. Finally, behind that area is the Hibachi Tables. It's a great place to have a drink while my son is at hockey practice. The food is great also. We have tried most of their rolls and they are all very good. My husband loves the Sashimi dinner - the regular and deluxe version. Since he has a big appetite, he usually has the Sashimi Deluxe. Service is pretty good fast. My husband sometimes orders take out as my son is finishing practice and the food is ready to go by the time we get there.

I know that most teppenyaki's have the same, redundant routines. Soup, salad, corny jokes, and food cooked in front of you. The formula is the same virtually everywhere you go, The 4 stars for this location is for the quality of the food that you get. The fried rice was exceptional and the filet mignon was grilled to medium rare perfection. The lobster was juicy and flavorful. If you are looking for great food to go along with your cheesy entertainment, come here. You won't be disappointed! We came here for my 8 year old's birthday. They gave her a delicious cheesecake on the house and that was definitely a nice touch.

We have visited on two occasions and have enjoyed both. The first visit was for the habachi grill. The food quality was high, and the servers friendly. Prices are high, just like all restaurants of this style. Our chef said that their scallops are real scallops. Apparently, he used to work at Tsunami and frequently, they would get cheap scallops and mix it with stingray. The scallops here are definitely better. This was a 5 star visit. The most recent visit was not as good. We ordered off the sit down menu. We didn't see the Italian menu, just the Japanese. The food took FOREVER to come out. When it came out, our tempura was cold while the teriyaki was piping hot. We found two huge chunks of fat in the tempura. The tempura was OK. The real shining star of the meal was the yakisoba. That was good. We will come back, but only for the Italian menu or the habachi.

New people, Great experience! This is a big change from before! We've been to Kobe probably 12 times in the past and it was ok, service was a bit slow, but the food was always good. Biggest draw was the fact it was close... Not sure if there's been a management or staff change, but WOW! Wow! WOW! HUGE improvement! Food was OUTSTANDING, presentation was beautiful, and the service was fast & friendly. Prices are the same as before but the food quality and artisanship has improved tremendously. If you've tried them before, go try them now! Nice date getaway for us!

Ohh boy! The only reason I actually visited this restaurant was because there was a Groupon deal and because we were hungry. Overall experience is a sad experience. I was so sticky and sweaty sitting in our booth I just had a really uncomfortable dinner. We only went for the Japanese menu (which was lengthy enough, I can't imagine looking at both the Japanese and Italian menus). We ordered their shrimp tempura, sushi sashimi for 2 and a lobster roll. Meh, Meh, Meh. That's my thought the whole time. The shrimp tempura appetizers are thin and unimpressive. The sushi sashimi for 2 came with soup and salad (which tasted average) and the platter itself was just small and nothing surprising with only your basic cuts of fish. The lobster roll was just overcooked and the tempura batter was really hard to chew on. It actually hurts chewing! I don't mean to sound so negative, but I was just really unimpressed with the food. The concept was intriguing, but it seems more confused than anything. Fusion, I like. Confusion, I no like.

This was probably our third visit back and will be back again! My husband and I share the Hibachi for two and it's always great. Our service has always been great - never had an issue. The 2 for 1 drink specials are a good deal, we love that Stella on draught is included in this. The hibachi is really delicious. Tried a sushi roll tonight too and it was yummy as well. Great spot - will be back soon!

WAY too many items on the menu, guess that's what happens when you merge Italian and sushi restaurants. Take a page out of McDonald's playbook. All awesome choices and killer food, but it takes me too long to decide on my entre.

This place is great. They have a pretty good selection of sake. They even have unfiltered sake!! I love the service. I usually sit at the bar, and I get the hibachi. I love the scallops, they are huge. I highly recommend this place, and it's get with a large group. They have a huge hibachi area.

Kobe...that's Japanese right? What is this "Italian" word? I'm sure everyone has to wonder that the first time they visit this place. Now, I can say I've never ordered their Italian items on the menu...but I must say, it is interesting and brings another dimension to "pleasing the whole family" when coming out to eat. Hibachi dinners, sushi, then maybe some lasagna on the side- why not? At any rate, this is our "go-to" Hibachi restaurant when we get a craving for it...it's about a 15 drive across the bridge from South Tampa, but we think it is worth it for what we have comparable in the area. Service always good, the prices are fair, and the cooks are sanitary/quick/personable/accommodating. - Worth noting that everytime we go, it always seems like drinks are BOGO.

I placed an order with Kobe using the Eat24 app which apparently contracts with a delivery company called Doorstep Delivery and works with this establishment. I have no idea which company is at fault but I never got my order. After 55 minutes I got a message saying that the business, despite being open, never responded to their order request. At this point noone would pick up the phone or call me back. When I finally got someone on the phone, they hung up on me. Then I got messages saying that they are closed with no further communications. I don't know who exactly screwed up here but nearly 2 hours later I can't reach the delivery service or the restaurant and am starving. So if you plan on ordering takeout or delivery just don't. There are plenty of other places to go. Save yourself the annoyance and go someplace else.

Tried the "Chicago" style pizza. We had the vegg'y. Tomatoes (fresh / no sauce), green peppers, mushrooms, green olives and cheese. It was very good. Not a deep "Chicago" pizza, but it did have a thick crust that was folded over at the edge. It could be a style cooked somewhere in Chicago. The crust was perfectly cooked - not soggy or overdone, the topping were delicious, and identifiably easy to taste. I'm still amazed that such good Italian food comes from this kitchen. We also had the antipasto salad. The small was plenty for two. Again the greens were cold, crisp, and fresh tasting. The rolled meats were very flavorful, as were the cheese, tomatoes, olives, and banana peppers. We had ours with the dressing on the side - mild but with a nice flavor. By the way, the service was very good - attentive and friendly.

Ok, so when I first saw a Groupon for this place, I thought I read wrong, but no, I didn't, it's Kobe Italian Japanese Steakhouse! How good could an Italian Japanese place be? Well, the answer is that the food was amazing! There are 8 hibachi tables in the back, and when we got there a couple were filled. From beginning to end, everything was great! The service was outstanding, my drink never had the chance to get empty. My husband had the sushi and it was excellent. The cook was very personable, much more so than most hibachi places. We had the hibachi chicken, it comes with soup, salad (dressing is awesome), rice, noodles, veggies and of course chicken. My girls had kids shrimp and it also comes with all the same stuff we had. We will definitely be coming back here, even if there isn't a groupon isn't available.

So good and very accommodating. My daughter and I custom made our own sushi rolls and they had no problem. They also have soy wraps. That made me very happy. My nice classy place.

DISTRACTING SURROUNDINGS I hope it was just during my visit, but it was very dark. My visit was during the day time but there was not enough light streaming through the windows to light my booth... or any of the booths. I had to really stare at the freaking... huge... vast menu to read every... single... thing. (Most items in there could probably be done away with and made cleaner) The décor is over all pretty nice with lots of dark wood and slight 'royal' ornaments. A note: the women's restroom has two totally different sinks. It's like they designed the space to have a nice glass one then changed their mind halfway and decided to add a random, cheap, white sink next to it. HAD SUSHI... JUST PSSH I only had Sushi and its accompaniments but there's sooooo much more in the menu besides Sushi. Both the Ginger Dressing Salad and the Miso Soup looked like it was thrown together last minute by batc-produced, whole saled ingredients. The Rolls each had some unlikable trait. The inside ingredients of the Jaguar Roll (Eel, Cream Cheese, and Avocado all deep fried) were totally overwhelmed by the Fried Dough and the Eel Sauce on it--and the way it was cut one roll didn't have ANY ingredients inside--see photo. The Caribbean Roll's ingredients (Eel, Spicy Tuna, Avocado all topped with "four kinds of Caviar") just didn't mesh well together. Somehow I couldn't taste the original flavors of any of the ingredients. The Spicy Girl (Crunchy Spicy Tuna, Spicy Yellowtail topped with Spicy Crunchy Salmon) was definitely NOT crunchy. On a whole the Roll had a very squishy texture throughout and barely any flavor. And the Salmon Roll... nothing bad to say here. It was okay. EXCELLENT SERVICE Ah--a redeeming quality. Our young server was very smiley and upbeat throughout. She arrived at all the appropriate times to check up on us. Meanwhile, although there are specials, the quality of the food didn't justify the price.

Stayed in town for two weeks and this became a bit of my regular spot during the visit. At first the mix of italian and japanese threw me off (didn't try any of the italian) But the food kept me coming back. They had a sushi appetizer of diced avocado and salmon with a slightly spicy oil on top that was pretty unique. The miso (which is usually something that i can take or leave) was some of the best i've had

We did the hibachi steak. The chef was great and entertaining. He seemed to enjoy cooking for us and was very happy. He even did a few tricks I had not seen before. They gave us huge portions and we had a huge box to take home. The prices were reasonable and the food was good. I would go back.

I have been coming to this place for a couple of months now and have never been disappointed. Sushi is fresh tasting and 2for1 drinks are the best! Don't do the groupon coupon, not worth it. They have lunch and dinner specials which to me is better than the groupon. Never tried the hibachi grill so no comment there.... Well worth trying out!

Lets start with, WOW! If I could give this place a +10 star rating, I would! (On service alone!) We tried this place on two separate occasions and and Both nights that we visited Kobe Itilan were exceptional! Im from California and sushi spots are a dime a dozen... we stumble upon Kobe Itilan mearly by default. We were staying at the hotel in the same shopping center. We walked in starving! Thank goodness for being paired up with the Best server ever, Michele! She had food sitting on our table within 2 minutes flat with water and drinks... she made some fantastic suggestions as far as food selection went. The Calamari and dipping sauce was Delicious! The sauce almost tasted like a chili type of marinara sauce. The miso soup was spot on and the Sheif sushi deluxe was fresh and light with all my favorites! The food was delicious, but our experienc was over the top thanks to the exceptional service we recieved. This is how great Michele was, when we revisited the restaurant a month later she remembered what we ordered the last time we were in! The service and food was so awesome! I highly recommend this place to anyone who is looking for something fresh, amazing and phenomenal mixed with excellent service!! Looking forward to coming back! Ps they have this awesome sea salt scrub in the restroom, to use complimentary, I forgot to buy a jar! Until, next time... hopefully Michele is there!!

For a quick, inexpensive work lunch this is the place to go. Their combos are around $10 and include soup and salad. What I like about this is that they offer the onion mushroom soup. I'm not a fan of miso soup, so this option is a nice touch for me. Their roll selection offers the standards like the Tampa roll and the philly, but they also have some unique creations too. I've been here several times and it never disappoints when I have a sushi craving.

Very nice service, friendly/helpful staff and love their 2-4-1 drink specials. I ordered the Cosmo and was made perfect. As an app, we started off with edamame and I've had better at other places. It's was over-steamed and soggy. The dinners were delish. I ordered the hibachi shrimp dinner and my boyfriend ordered the shrimp and scallops. They both came with a soup and salad. The ginger salad dressing is one of the best I've ever had. I like that the dinners come with both noodles and rice. Very very good! I am eager to try their sushi next go round. It's a small restaurant in a business park setting and their lunch specials look good too. We'll be returning for hibachi and will try a roll. Thank you for a wonderful first experience.

Ill start with a disclaimer: usually this place is a 4 out of 5. They included an automatic tip on the bill....make sure you check. .. I've been here a few times for hibachi and the food is always delicious. We had some sushi (krab special) today and it was okay, kinda drowned in sauce. Our chef was risky...and scary. Hes usually fine but this time was interesting...Some guy got shrimp tails thrown at his face...same guy got the chef fork flung in his direction.... At one point I was worried that he'd start a fire because there was splattered oil and it almost singed his eyebrows off. But since no one got hurt, it was entertaining I guess.

This place could have been so much better, and there is at least one staff who was very keen for feedback, and it was refreshing to see that. Unfortunately we've had better... everything. There are two entrances to this place, and as it turns out, the door on the right is officially the entrance to the sushi part of the business, and the door on the left, that's right, an Italian part of the restaurant. Once inside, we found that it was very dark, almost needed a magnifying glass to read the menu. We tried: - Teriyaki chicken with miso soup and rice: old, yellow rice with bland miso soup. Strangely, both tasted ok. Lovely chicken but oddly, it tasted like it had been cooked separate from the sauce then put together just before service. The lovely female staff was eager for our feedback for we let her know. - Vegetable tempura: Well cooked, tasty. - Volcano roll: the topping should be baked, or at least hot, but it was neither. Disappointment. - Tuna and prawn roll: Good.

Well we had a groupon for italian food and ended up at the habatchi grill - it was pretty good. The lights were very dim but food was good and chef was entertaining as well - also have 2-4-1 drinks all day!!! You gotta try it - itialian or sushi ot habatchi - all in one location

Came here through Groupon. Glad I did! Delicious sashimi platter for dinner. Nice presentation and my first time trying white tuna. WOW... it is right up there with tuna and salmon sashimi for me. :-) Strange that it is Italian... I believe they do have a menu for Italian if you feel like pasta. But I'd say this place is mostly 2 for 1 drinks at the bar kind of people and sushi.

When I first walked in I was pretty excited about the prospects. Drink specials are the best part about this place. 2 for 1 all day and they have a really nice selection of beers including a few different IPAs. We settled on Sushi and it was above average but nothing amazing. Bagel rolls seemed to have too much cream cheese and the spicy tuna rolls tasted like mush. However the other roles we had were pretty good and every thing was decently priced. We sat the bar and our bartender was terrible. She was short and rude the entire time we were there and we saw her be very rude to other customers as well. We came in around 430-5 so i don't know if her shift was ending and she had a rough day. Anyway, she made for a negative experience. Great service would have definetly made us come back. I do have to say that when it comes to the Restuarant.com coupon, everything was very clear about what you could order. Ineligble items were clearly marked on the menu and the bartender also gave us the heads up. We probably won't be back, but I wouldn't tell anyone to stay away.

Four of us came here tonight for hibachi + sushi. We had to ask two times for appetizer of sushi from our waitress. First, when she took drink order, she never inquired as to what. And then when she brought drinks, someone in our party told her we meant it and could we order it now. She jokingly said 'No.' [?] Had to ask for additional chopsticks - when the sushi finally came after soup and salad - and waitress pushed it off on Chef who was still not there. When other waitress came by, I asked HER for more chopsticks and she simply got them from the Chef's cart. Waited about ten minutes with an empty beverage. Finally had to ask chef to please find our waitress. The food was okay except for the lobster, which was fishy rancid. I spit out my first bite while others in the party confirmed and did not eat theirs either. It tasted bad...like it could be dangerous if swallowed so someone in our party told Chef the lobsters were bad. Chef tried to make it right and cooked two more [as we all had lobster]...still bad. The chicken was a little dry but the shrimp was delicious, the soup was wonderful, as was the rice. The vegetables were fine. Only one from our party took their "to go" box [minus lobster] home. The rest of us left our leftovers there. In my opinion, they should better train their waitstaff. OH and the party of four next to us were missing their credit card after paying their bill. Waitress had apparently left it just sitting in the other room on the bar, which one of them thankfully went and just found it there. [?] None of us will be back.

Kobe Italian is a Japanese Steakhouse with Sushi. Located in an outdoor mall near where the old Tucson's used to be off Ulmerton Road. As you enter the restaurant the first impression is that it is a bar. The entrance door opens into the bar. There is no waiting area or real reception. You are standing in the back of a chair at the bar. The bar consumes the entire room sharing one end for the sushi bar. Around the bar individual tables and booths. In the back are 6 to 8 hibachi tables. I was greeted promptly and seated immediately at the sushi bar. I was given plenty of time to peruse the menu and take it in with the occasional assistance of the wait staff. I was used to marking my sushi choices on a separate menu; here they took your order. I was impressed that they had approximately 70 items on their sushi menu and offered combinations with miso and salad for approximately $13. In making up my mind I did have a slight language barrier with the sushi chef as I did not know what he was describing so he solved the problem by providing a sample to satisfy my taste inquiry. The staff was very friendly. I always enjoy miso and a salad with my sushi so I knew I was going for one of the combinations. I selected one of my standard spicy tuna and an unknown to me called the USF (with the colors Green and Gold: Go Bulls!!!) and included Oshinko which was the bases of our language barrier. The spicy tuna had a moist texture and a mild nutty flavor which was extremely tasty. The USF was reminiscent of a California roll in texture with a very clean, cool flavor. But bolder than the California roll. Both were delightful. Although I was only having water I did inquire if they had a happy hour. They do offer a 2-4-1 special on mixed drinks, beer, and select imported beers. Although the space between the bar and the other tables did not seem to encourage a large happy hour at the bar. Happy hour and a dinner out with friends would be possible at this location. Unfortunately I still don't know where the Italian part comes in. Oh well, next visit.

This is probably one of my favorite places to go! From the habaci to the sushi, every here is great! They have good beer on draft too! I get dog fish head and it's always two for one ($5.99), which is a great deal in itself. The service is always good as well. If you're looking to have a great meal and a few drinks for cheap this is definitely the place you want to go!

The sushi was very fresh. Deliciously good! They need to update the decor though. The restaurant is Japanese/Italian and strangely enough, there was a lot of country music playing.... but I didn't go there for the music. I will definitely go back! The bartender/waitress was very nice.

I wasn't expecting great Italian food here but what I got may have been the worst I've ever been served. I ordered fettuccini alfredo with broccoli and it came with extremely watery red sauce. I questioned it and said that alfredo sauce is a cream sauce. The server corrected me saying this is how it comes unless you specify white sauce, and since I didn't specify, I got red. She offered to swap it but seriously, on what planet is alfredo sauce red? And what I got wasn't even tasty. Over-cooked pasta, watery red sauce that tasted like it came out of a jar, and soggy yet still tough broccoli. Save your money and eat anywhere else.

It's very unfortunate that I have to give this restaurant 2 stars. After going 4 times, they need better management. Absolutely horrible business practices. I seen there was a groupon and ended up purchasing it for a $30 dollar value. When going to use it at the restaurant (there was no small print or regulations on the menu or the groupon). Oh sorry, you cannot order this dinner with the groupon. No sorry you cannot get that either. We asked to speak to a manager who refused to come talk to us about the situation. Then we asked to have separate checks so we could use the groupon we purchased. NO, we are not aloud to do that. The waitress was extremely apologetic and she understood it was not fair, but the management refused to even talk to us about it. We ended up ordering other items. So last week we decide to give it a try around 2pm for lunch. AGAIN, silly regulations. I wanted their lunch special, which we only serve brunch today. My husband wanted to order their hibachi lunch which was clearly on the menu, same story. SORRY, we cannot sell that to you either. He ended up ordering a dinner meal for $20. I didn't even bother asking for a manager this time. There just will not be a next time for Kobe. It really is unfortunate because their food is good. Not the best, but it's good. Just HORRIBLE business practices. Actually after writing this review I've taking my rating down to 1 star based solely on the management. Pass this one up and visit one of the many other japaneese restaurants in the area.

Do not go to this restaurant! They have a coupon on restaurant.com and they will not let you use at lunch. It was my 30th birthday and I was excited to go here for my lunch hour at work and had a coupon. After enjoying our meal the waitress let me know I couldn't use my coupon for lunch. I then proceeded to ask for the manager because no where did it say you couldn't use for lunch. This young girl came to our table and told me i couldn't use it and I asked her why and she said that it couldn't be used for special offers and I said ok but i just got lunch? She was very rude about it and would not tell me why this was so I told her to call her manager for she was not the actual manager and the manager was out. She then was gone for 20 min....I'm on my lunch break mind you, then tells me that she couldn't get a hold of the manager and she was by far the rudest person I've ever dealt with and should've taken care of this and told me that next time they could not and now i know for the future. She still was rude and I ended up taking a too long lunch on my birthday and paid full price. This was the day after Thanksgiving mind you. I told my whole office about it because it is a rock throws away and to never go there. Very rude.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
