Greek food is a fine melody of the finest pressed olive oil, fresh fermented bread, colorful vegetables, juicy meat, sea food all cooked in spices and fresh rosemary. The people from Greek were great scholars who aimed to excel in everything they do. The results are quite visible in their food as they are the inventors of olive oil which is beneficial to health. Greeks also made different type of wines from the best quality of grapes fermented in controlled environment.
Today, you can find hundreds of restaurants offering authentic Greek food or popularly termed as Mediterranean cuisine in New York city alone. People wait in line to taste the exotic Greek dishes like saganaki, taramasalata, souvlaki, loukoumades, spanakopita, moussaka, and many more. A smart mix of few ingredients can virtually take you on the pebble streets of beautiful city of Greece.

The food is always good when I come here. I always get the chicken feta wrap and add tzaziki sauce and I'm pretty sure I spelled that wrong! I love the fries that come with it. For appetizers I get the hummus and everything tastes great. The reason why I couldn't give it 5 stars is because it's on the expensive side and the portions are small... Besides that the food is great.

Great place! I stopped in here for a quick bite after a trip to the Westfield mall, which is across the street. I ordered a gyro and drink, and for an extra buck, you can add a Greek salad or Feta fries, totaling $10.15. The staff was friendly, the refills are free, the gyro was delicious (as was the little cup of potato salad that comes with it), and I'm glad I got that extra Greek salad for a $1, as it was a healthy portion size and was the highlight of my meal. A+

It's not Tarpon Greek good but it's good. Their falafel isn't authentic, - it's breaded & doesn't come with tahini dressing but it's so good. The place is close to my house so I go there regularly. Also- you can order fries top with crumbled feta. Love it.

Hooked on the best greek salad ever! ! A little upset with the inconsistent portions of gyro meat and samon. Depends on who's working!
(3)Teresa L.
Service was good, people were friendly and quick. The Greek salad just wasn't to my liking. I never understood the potato salad phenomenon that gets hidden in the middle of some of these salads. And lots of chopped veggies on top that I'm not fond of. Lastly..... what's a Greek salad without feta? Maybe it was an off day, or maybe the goat didn't give enough milk to make cheese, whatever the reason the feta on my salad was nearly non-existent. Doubt I'll be back by again.

Greek Salads are delicious and fresh! Had lunch here today. Prices are very reasonable. Very good hummus too!

I personally love the mini Greek salad. All of the wraps are good too. If you really want to bring up your cholesterol level you can opt for the feta fries. If you order a wrap you can make it a platter and get a drink and a salad. Pricing is great and two people can eat for about $15-$20. The interior of the store is well decorated and is always clean. Service is fast.

First time. My order was take out. Service was good. Waitress was nice And she explained the difference between pita and gyro sandwich. Order gyro with Greek salad side and gyro pita. Food was good. Pita was hot. Overall very good. Will return for other menu items.

This is a small cafe with a good selection of pitas, salads and rice bowls. I order the Mediterranean chicken bowl, a bit salty for my taste and I think it was the combination of the black olives and sundried tomatoes but you can customize your order as you please. May not fully compare in taste with other Greek places in the area but not bad for a quick lunch.

I honestly don't see how this place doesn't have a higher rating. We love, love, love Greek City. It's a shame we don't live closer or we'd go more often. The food is so fresh and good and the service is quick. Last time I was there and i checked in to Yelp, I got a coupon for an order of free feta fries and ohmygoodness were the delicious! I usually get the chicken wrap and my husband gets a gyro, although everything we've ever had there has been good. We just brought friends from Georgia into Greek City and they loved it. They thought it was franchise and honestly wanted to open one in Atlanta!! It's great Greek food and saves you a trip from Tarpon Springs! (Also - try the baklava ice cream!!!)

I enjoy eating here for lunch and dinner. Food tastes very good. They have outdoor tables if you don't want to sit inside which can be cold at times. The greek deserts are very good too. They recently added free wi-fi which is a nice plus. Try it!

I have visited a few times, both for lunch and dinner. This time I went for dinner and ordered a chicken souvlaki pita. I made it a platter by adding on a small chopped Greek salad and yellow rice with gravy. I split this with someone else and it was the perfect amount of food to share. The salad has a great dressing on top and lots of chopped veggies. The souvlaki pita had excellent flavor with the spices and feta. Sometimes the service is somewhat slow here considering it is casual dining but this time the food came out immediately. I recommend trying it!

I like the Greek salad even when they short it on the feta. I do not like getting two small pieces of pita bread when purchasing a regular salad. I do not like waiting to get my carry out order when the employee/cashier gets around to giving it to me. In other words I don't know what goes through the employees minds when it comes to carryout. Why short the customer? Why let the order sit on the counter right behind you for 5 minutes or more? And believe me this happens more often than not!
(3)Marsha W.
Stopped in to try their falafel. The service was quick and polite. The falafel was tender. It could have been a bit more flavorful. However, I will get it again. The tzatziki sauce was wonderful.

I really was pulling for Greek City to give better then a 3 star rating. I have ordered lunch at work a few times, and their Greek Salad with Falafel is awesome. Last night my friend and I went there, and ordered the Spanikopita and Greek Salad Wrap, first time visiting during dinner hour. My wrap was good, but they were out of feta fries. Ok this happens, except I saw them bring feta fries to another table while we waited for to-go. After waiting for about 15 min, they come and tell us the only have 1/2 a Spanikopita. How does this happen and why did it take so long to figure out they didn't have it? My friend thought they were still going to give her the half, and make her half of a sandwhich. Not sure if it was a communication error, but she ended up with a Philly sandwich which just wasn't good. For dessert we had the Baklava Cheescake, I had heard so many great things about it. However the cheescake was just ok nothing special or awesome that would make me crave it again.
(3)David C.
Great Greek restaurant, especially the greek salad. Order only one, its enough for two. Baklava could use some help, Only gets one star.
(4)Frank T.
Ive been to the Greek city cafe several times for take out. The food has always been very good. I recently had the Lamb chop on wild rice. it was excellant and fall off the bone. The bakaluva was tremendous.

This is a no brainer. First, I lived in Greece for 6 years. I know good Greek food. Second, I passed by this place so many times in the last 2 and a half years, curious, but never stopped. So , this past Saturday, We needed to take a break from power shopping and decided to do a lil snack. I was skeptical. My measuring stick was tzatziki and avgolemeno. (egg lemon soup) I was shocked! The tzatziki was a perfect blend of cucumber and yogurt. The soup was well balanced as the flavor of the lemon was spot on! We had enough for this time around but We will hit their menu harder next time. I want to try their Moussaka and Pastitsio. They had some really good looking desserts (the standard Baklava, Galaktoboureko, and Kourabiethes, a Greek Christmas cookie.) in the case that I wanted to do but I was good....this time!

I enjoy Greek City for quick Greek fare. If it's dinner time we usually get it To Go as it is a pretty small place and can get kind of crowded. I'm not a huge fan of their Greek dressing so I don't order a salad often. The falafel wrap is great. It comes with Greek dressing, but ask for tzatziki instead. Recently I have been getting the pita dilla. It is greasy and not the least bit healthy, but great for a hangover ;) Really it's not much different from Pappas Market Cafe, but Greek City is closer to our house so it wins out. My husband tried the Feta spread recently and was raving about it. I'm looking forward to trying it in the very near future!

I've enjoyed my dining experiences at the Greek City Cafe so far! It is reasonably priced, the dining area is clean, and the service has been friendly. The Greek salad is very delicious, and the Pizza Niko is really unique!
(4)Sarah B.
We eat here at least 2-3 times a month. Everything I have tried on the menu has been great, but I am addicted to the falafel pita! The Fountain of Youth platter is also awesome, as is the Greek salad (love that they chop the pepperoncini, rather than leaving them whole like most places), and the Mediterranean Pizza. We are vegetarians, so we appreciate it when there are lots of veggie options. Service has always been fast and friendly. They have a punch card loyalty program to earn free meals and also emailed us a birthday coupon!
(5)Melinda M.
Went here because it was convenient, but I now I'm regretting my decision. The menu is so limited and pales in comparison to another Greek place I frequent. The food was greasy and heavy. Portions are small compared to other places for the price. Only plus is the free feta fries with check-in.

When they get your order correct, this place is decent. After 3x in a row, I give up. This one is the most recent fail. Disappointed.
(2)Melony R.
This place was great when it first opened in Clearwater. The menu was better and the service was really good. Something happened...maybe the expansion to other locations? The first time I noticed the change was when we ate at the Westchase location not long after it opened, since it's closer to me. I was disappointed. It's not that this place is oh-so bad...but it used to be really good.

I've been here a few times now so I've tried most of the popular orders at GC. Look, if you are a Greek food snob go somewhere else, the food here is good, some things on the menu are better than others. On this particular evening my wife had The Niko pizza, she felt crust tasted like it was store bought, but still enjoyed it overall. The Feta fries were good, maybe a touch bit salty for my taste, but we enjoyed them. My biggest issue with GC is the variety and quality of their menu used to be better, I'm talking from just a few years ago. One of my favorite dishes here was the octopus seasoned in lemon, that was to die for! Also the portions are not as good as they used to be, especially on the braised lamb shank, another favorite of mine. The Felafel is decent, still not close to the best I've ever had. The old owners were very attentive and made you feel right at home. That's not to say the service here is not good or that this place is just plain bad cause it's really not, it just falls short from being great. I'd rate it 3.5
(3)Dana N.
They have one of the best greek salads around! Love that everything comes chopped in the salad when you get it. They also have great gyros and rice bowls. Great service too!
(4)Amy K.
Everything was good except the gyro meat was way too salty, and I love salt. Good size portions for the price.

It's hard to stand out as a casual Greek restaurant in the Tampa area, and sadly this place does little to distinguish itself. In fact, when I first walked in, I was struck by how similar the interior is to Louis Pappas. I ordered a Greek salad with gyro meat. Instead of putting the meat on the salad, they served it on the side with tzatziki. It was a ton of meat, and well worth the extra $2-3 it cost to add it. In the true Tampa Greek style, the salad had a big scoop of potato salad at the bottom (does anyone know the story behind this, anyway? Who started this?) and included beets. It was good, but not great. Same goes for the gyro meat. I wasn't impressed by the tzatziki. If you're in the area and craving Greek, this will satisfy your craving. However, if you're used to the better known Tampa Greek spots, don't expect to be blown away.

The owners are completely ridiculous. The food isn't bad but if u want bad survive and rude owners that yell at employees in front of you while your eating you've found the right place. Never again will I eat here.

Love this place. The food is always fresh and fast.

We went tonight before our movie and could not have been more disappointed. We placed our order and went to get drinks where we found the sodas tasted terrible. We decided to get unsweetened ice tea which tasted even worse! We then sat down to wait for our food when, after some time, I noticed that our food was waiting to be brought out to us. That's when I saw the cook place my receipt IN my salad. Not on the tray, not on the counter, in..my...salad. At this point I was so hungry, I decided to overlook this grossness and eat. I ordered a greek salad with chicken. The three little pieces of chicken were not on the salad but on a plate on the side. The dressing and cheese on the salad were great but the lettuce was limp and didn't taste fresh. We spent $24 on two meals and two drinks (which weren't even drinkable). My parent's loved this place but we will not be going back.

I just took my father here today for lunch. The food is absolutely delicious. The salad and bread that came with my plate was great. Do not pay any attention to the person(Jessica) who left the review that said even the sodas tasted bad. How can a fountain drink taste bad? I had a diet coke and tried the sweet tea. Both were great. They tasted just like you would expect. I came in with no expectations and left talking good with my father about the food for the next 15 minutes. If you like fresh salads with crisp veggies and a great taste, fresh sliced bread, VERY good Greek dinners, try this place. The prices are reasonable. I went in with a 50% off Groupon, but would have paid full price. The manager was amazingly nice. He talked to me for a bit, joked around, and even gave me a $5 off next meal for it being my first time there. I can't wait to try some other dishes asap.

I was very happy with my whole experience at Greek City Cafe. The food is very authentic and fresh and the staff was helpful and fun. I plan to go back a few times a month!
(5)Nikki J.
The place looked nice but we really didn't like the food. We've had better greek elsewhere. Our food that was supposed to be hot was cold and our lemon soup was like water. We did not have a good experience.
(1)Frank S.
Love the Greek salad! The service was very good. I used the yelp check-in deal and got a really tasty desert for free.
(4)Karen E.
Awesome Greek salad and Gyro. The deserts were great too. WILL DEFINATELY BE GOING BAV
(5)Sandra M.
We enjoyed our dinner. We ordered The Mediteranian "Cobb Salad" with Grilled chicken. Portion was much smaller than we have received in the past. The staff is always friendly and the dinning room is kept up nicely. We find this a quick place to eat before shopping or movies.

I've visited the Spring HIll location & the Clearwater one. Both are good! They also offer check in perks on a regular basis. Both have good food, the menus are the same, but the Spring Hill location is less busy, and offers more seating for those of us that like to sit down and eat. As far as taste, it's good, & I will go back, but Hella's in Tarpon Spring is still my absolute #1 favorite greek restaurant.
