We had Chinese dinner from china garden last night! Fresh and perfectly cooked. My cashew chicken had chicken that was so tender and moist!! Vegys were perfect too! So delicious! Highly recommend! Loved the left overs just now for lunch! They are also very efficient! Order ready before we expected it!

food is awesome, I got sweet and sour chicken with egg rolls and white rice and my husband got bourbon chicken. with fried rice. I tried his and it's amazing. he hates sweet so would not try mine.. but he loved the egg roll.

The food is good and so are the prices. However, the Lo Mein and the white rice are very high sodium so it may make you very bloated. I eat Chinese food alot but this restaurant definitely uses more sodium than I am used to. I still recommend it cause the food is good and they are fast, but just eat a little at a time. :)

Best Chinese food in town. Fast, friendly, delicious, inexpensive, ready fast & open late! We have been going here for almost 10 years & love this place. Some of our favorites are the Dumplings, House Special Soup, Hunan & Orange chicken. Never had a bad meal & the customer service is great as well. Very clean & you can eat there as well. Highly recommended!

It's hard to find decent Chinese food in florida. This place is the best I've had in the Tampa area. Very inexpensive and excellent customer service. Love the crab rangoon!!

Had Chinese here a few times and I find it to be good! Will be back. The shrimp in the combo platters are large which I am surprised about and love! The prices went up a bit since the last time I had lunch there but still good.

Update 5/9/12 Stopped by again with a family member and the food was great. It was their first visit and they gave it a big thumbs up for taste and couldn't get over the large portions. Whatever happened on the visit where the rice was dry is history, so I'm raising my score back up to 5 stars. Update 4/21/12 Back again to check out other menu items and see how they did on the fried rice (after my last visit - see below). Came on late Saturday night, and it was not too busy. Ordered the shrimp and broccoli and upgraded to shrimp fried rice. The shrimp and broccoli was excellent, again with a light sauce letting the ingredients shine through. Definitely one of the better takeout meals I've had in the area. With the upgrade to shrimp fried rice, it had good portions of shrimp, and the moisture and flavors were back to the solid standard from my first time, and definitely not dry like my last visit. Only thing I can point to for the difference may be the times I visited? When the rice was dry it was a bit after lunch. Perhaps their rice in the vessel had dried out after the lunch traffic? Could be. Both times the rice was good it was off-hours and slow traffic. On the other hand, this meal had the shrimp fried rice upgrade, and of course, it was freshly made vs. the standard pork fried rice. Whatever the reason, this meal had the problem solved, and I'm upgrading to shrimp fried rice from now on. And the fact I've been here 3 times in about a week because of the excellent flavors speaks for itself. I'm still holding my overall score at 4 stars until I'm wowed again a few times. ----------------------------- Update 4/19/12: Came back for more Chinese since I had been so pleased just a few days before. Had the Szechuan beef again and it was just as good, but the pork fried rice was far too dry. As in, "I can't believe this is the same place," kind of dry. Not sure what happened as I ate at lunchtime both days and it was never that busy each day. I did try the pan fried dumplings and they were small, but tasty. I'm dropping my food score to 4 (the rice was actually a 2), and overall score to 4 based on the rice. If a Chinese takeout place can't do fried rice consistently well, it's disappointing. I'm sure I'll be back in a few days to try it again and will update my review then. ----------------------------- My new favorite Chinese takeout place! I have no idea how this place escaped me in my Yelp searches for this area. Fortunately I was talking Chinese takeout with a good friend, and he said, "Say no more, we're going to China Garden for lunch tomorrow!" And am I glad we did. China Garden has been open since 2000 and it located on McMullen Booth, in the large plaza on the west side between 590 and Drew St. It's in a small store right in the middle of the plaza and can be a bit hard to find with all the retail stores surrounding it. But it's definitely worth the search, and you'll be richly rewarded. The interior is modest, but very clean and neat, and the menu is large and has typical offerings priced well. And the owner that took our order was very kind and attentive. There are about 90 items on the menu including apps, soup and fried rice. The remaining dinners are well priced at ~$8-10 for a large order. They also have about 30 dinner combos at $7-8, ~15 chef's specialties at $9-12. But the huge hit is their ~30 lunch specials (with pork fried rice or white rice) priced at $4.50-5.25. I've found no Chinese restaurant that serves this quality for such a great price, and the my plate was covered with a healthy serving. I ordered the Szechuan beef which you can choose with your level of heat. I kept it standard (average heat) as it was my first time, and the heat was perfect. In appropriate time our orders landed on the table. China Garden is one of those rare Chinese takeout restaurants that doesn't oversauce their dishes. One thing I look for in all Asian food is a light hand on the sauce, with a delicateness of flavor where each ingredient shines through, and the sauce doesn't overwhelm the dish but rather pulls all the flavors together. On this measure, China Garden is off the charts compared to other places I've tried in the area. The Szechuan sauce was quite flavorful, but never once did it mask the taste of the ingredients, which were quite fresh and blended well. As to value, China Garden is excellent. My lunch plate completely filled me up for $4.50. A fast food place could hardly do it for that price, and the ingredients would not be near as healthy. I'll definitely be back to China Garden the next time I'm in the mood for Chinese. My ratings on the local Chinese takeout scale are: Atmosphere: 4 Service: 5 Food: 5 Value: 5

Attention veg*ns: do not eat here! I ordered the Ma Po Tofu, which is listed as spicy, with steamed rice. I got it home and noticed that the tofu is in huge, *completely* raw chunks. I sighed because I had been at work 9 hours and was soaked from rain. I decided to cook the tofu myself and go ahead and eat the veggies and rice. The dish was not spicy by anyone's standards, and it wasn't even a proper Ma Po, which has beans and wood mushrooms. This dish has carrots, bell peppers, and pea pods that still have the inedible strings intact. The tofu took 20 minutes to cook, as usual. Sooooo disappointed with this place and will not be back.

Small chinese restaurant with exceptionally good takeout food. Servings are large, prices are reasonable and food is exceptionally good. They offer a large selection on their menu too. Definitely, some of the best Chinese food in the Clearwater area. Only negative is the dining room itself, which is spartan at best.

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
