Walked through the door, party of one. Said I could sit along pasta bar otherwise it would be a wait. I told the hostess I would wait. There were numerous empty tables and booths so I figured a few minutes at most. Party of thee came in right behind me and were seated immediately followed by several other parties of 2-3. So far not so good. Yay, they called my name. Only 10 minutes. Then I'm told I could sit at the bar? I said "whatever, but I'd rather have a table or booth." Two minutes later I'm seated at a booth that has been vacant this entire time. Ryan redeemed this place by providing great sevice. Thank you Ryan. The food wasn't But bad either. I still don't think I'd recommend this location to any one.

This is the newest of the carrabbas in the Tampa bay area and I must admit I really like what they did to the place. The interior gives it a more rustic feel and the open air patio overlooking the bar is a nice touch. Wednesdays are $10 off pitchers of sangria. Thank god we only paid $15-if we had paid full price I wouldn't be a happy camper. The pitcher was quite small-good, but small. I still think that the Columbia makes the best in the area. All in all, a very consistent meal with a different interior. I like the changes

Should mention the awesome waiter, Jeff. Hot, polite, oh and did I mention he's hot, sexy, and bald. The best!!

This Carrabba's seems to have a very mixed review experience.......lots recently that rate it as incomparable, other older reviews just middle of the pack. I am not a chain enthusiast, and rate this as OK generally. The menu selections were predictable and well prepared, but no big delights. Interesting antipasti plate.....fried calamari & mozzarella with bruschetta rather than the usual olives, veggies & cold sausages. Entrees were fine...well-sauced veal marsala, whole-grain pasta with shrimp, and very nice side salads with dipping bread. Very cheerful, attentive service. On this past Friday night, we noted several prom couples/groups all dressed up for a special meal...and clearly they considered Carrabba's to be a unique treat. We wish them well, and joined in having a good meal, but knowing more & better is in the future for us and them.

Carrabba's is a good Italian restaurant. Good affordable Italian food. It's not the best but it is good for the price. Very impressed for a franchise.

This location is as good if not better than any other Carrabba's. Always consistently good food and quality for the price.

Love their bread, and most of the time the food is good. Sauces can be thin and soupy. That not the reason I'm giving them 3 stars. The place is dirty or at least dusty! Next time you go, look at the light above you and it will be caked in dust or spider webs.

The sirloin marsala is just amazing, it can't be beat in value and taste, of course we order it medium rare where you can actually taste the meat. So no guarantees if you order it hockey puck style. The pasta weesie is phenomenal. Order a side of fettuccine with your steak, you have to request it, but if you are a fettuccine fan, you can't go wrong. If I had to complain about something, it would be the ice tea. The last few times we have been there, it's been cloudy, and doesn't taste very good. At one point, I discussed with the bartender how they make such awesome tea....but now I just ask them what they are doing differently. No one acknowledges a change.

This is by far my favorite chain Italian restaurant. This location in particular has a fabulous wait staff, including in the carry out. They are incredibly friendly and helpful. My favorite is the Pasta Carrabba.

We visited two Carrabba's on our trips to Florida. Clearwater and Largo. Both were outstanding. Prompt, courteous service, and excellent appetizers and meals. It was packed each time but we never felt crowded or rushed.

I've been to a lot of Carrabba's and this one was my best experience. Jason T. was our waiter and he was more excellent than Bill and/or Ted. The food was amazing as always, I've never had a bad meal at any Carrabba's, just bad service, but this location was great!

May 18, 2014 - I must add this line. I do not like the new menu at all. They have taken away most of my favs. I have tried a couple of dishes but was not impressed. Bring back the old Carrabbas....please! Feb 2014 Ooohhhhh,,,love this place. I have been back to this particular Carrabbas more than 10 times since my first review. Let me say that the Caesar Salad fiasco of our first visit has never happened again and it has been consistently delicious. Last night we both tried new dishes. Hubby and I both ordered from the Festa di Carrabba menu. I tried the Beef Brasato. It was OMG, roll your eyes up into your head delicious. The meat was so tender and just melted in my mouth. The savory vegetable wine sauce was crazy addictive. The accompanying risotto was perfection. I cannot wait to go back and order this one again. Hubby ordered the potato crusted Haddock. Now, to paint a picture, when I met this man fish would not pass his lips. He was not a fan. Slowly, he was introduced to several varieties, and now he orders it from the menu. His mom wants to know my secret (I have none really, but raised three boys, so maybe I learned a trick or two). Anyway, I digress. He ordered broccoli as a vegetable and said it was done to perfection. Bright green with red bell pepper. Oh it was a party on a plate. He loved the fish. We also got them to make Shrimp Scampi appetizer, even though they took it off their menu (Big mistake Carrabbas). So, if you were there, and you heard some soft moaning..mmmm....oh my God...soooo good, that was us enjoying the meal. Thank you Chris S - great waiter, attentive, friendly, and very knowledgeable about the menu.

Carrabbas is a great Italian restaurant with an upscale ambiance. Their Italian cuisine is a bit pricier than Olive Garden and Macaroni Grill, but I think their food is worth it. It also has a great happy hour and if you eat at the bar the appys are 50 percent off....

Update: Manager Jason contacted me about my previous review and apologized for the issue. We also received a nice gift certificate to invite us back.

Let me start off by saying that I love Carrabba's. My husband and I have an infant and do not get out anymore. However, for our date night's we like to get Carrabba's curbside to enjoy at home. Typically we go to the Palm Harbor location but Clearwater is actually closer. So we gave them a try... Absolutely the worst service I have EVER received. We waited when we got there for 5 minutes while the girls inside chatted it up. We paid and then we waited and waited and waited and nothing. We were just about to go inside and cancel when a waitress came out to serve another vehicle and said "oh- didn't they tell you? They gave your food to someone else- we're making you more now". At this point- our infant was crying in the back seat and it had been 40 minutes. The manager came out and apologized for giving us the wrong food- to which we replied "we have not even gotten our food". He did comp'd our meal but that was not enough to make up for the horrible customer service we received that night. Needless to say- we will be enjoying Macaroni Grill for our date nights from now on.

This location has taken the place of the old location on US 19. The new location is beautiful with outdoor dining and inside is very cool for a quiet night out with your loved one. I had the chicken caesar salad and a skinny girly margarita and I was a happy camper. This place has swag....

Yeah, that's what I'm talking 'bout, baby! I love it when a chain restaurant delivers a good, high-quality produt to your table. Carrabba's hooked me when I visited South Carolina last year. Went to the one just outside of Charleston and the food was very good. The ribs are to die for, sans the sauce! Appetizers are good and the entrees live up to the standard of fine Italian dining, plentiful! I'm a big fan of Macaroni Grill, but Carrabba's has become one of my favs.

  • Maegan G.

This was very, very, good. Started with a delicious drink, had some amazing mozzarella sticks and we ordered the Limoncello bread pudding (have to order it 25 minutes in advance). This isn't your typical Limoncello either, it's the real deal so yes, it will have an "alcoholy" taste, if you will. Our waitress was awesome, oh, and the bread was amazing! Mmmmm...now I'm hungry again!

The Carrabbas on Gulf to bay in clearwater florida recently opened. Ive been there several times. Most recently Fathers day. The mussels were cooked to perfection and melted in my mouth. I had the filet which was cooked perfectly. My wife had the chicken trio which is our favorite.

If I could give zero stars I would. Last night I got lobster ravioli and get sick. first, the meal came out of the kitchen in two minutes. I thought, this can't be right, it takes longer to make a good meal. But I started to eat it. It tasted funny, but I was hungry and ate it anyway. Bad move. I got sick as a dog. their food is garbage. It is bad fast food. I will never eat there again. If you want to get sick, eat at carrabas on gulf to bay.

This Carrabbas will set the standards for all that precede it and follow it, not just because of it's physical appeal, but also for it's amazing staff and enticing cuisine. So glad to have them in the neighborhood. Benvenuti!

We prefer this location over the Palm Harbor spot. The staff here is great. My husband loves the Marsala Pork Chops & I usually get the lasagne. The zucchini appetizer is also great!

Can't say enough about this particular location. I'm never one for commercial eateries but the there are more than enough reasons to visit. Recently they have opened their doors for lunch with smaller portion's. They have a lovely outdoor seating area that is well maintained and air-conditioned. Kurt, my bartender for the day was fabulous! I sampled all of their Sangria's and decided on the Black Cherry, a little sweet but then again it is Sangria. The Manager, Jason came over and checked on my meal and experience he's an asset to the Carrabba's brand. I had their brick oven Margarita pizza, delicious! I left full and happy!

We haven't been to Carrabba's in years. So with gift cards in hand ( thanks kids ) we called in our "call ahead seating" and arrived at 7:30. We waited 5 minutes and were promptly seated. Our server , Adam, took our drink order and our appetizer selection in a timely manner. We chose a small Calamari for our appetizer, it was served with the standard marinara sauce. I've got to admit for a chain, the Calamari was surprisingly very good. For dinner I ordered the Chicken Marsala wood grilled with mushrooms, prosciutto, and Marsala wine sauce. Excellent! The flavor of the wood grilled chicken was enhanced by the Marsala sauce. The chicken was moist and delicious. For my side I had the Fettuccine Alfredo, which was just OK. Also had a caesar salad which was fine. My Bride had the Shrimp and Scallop Linguine alla Vodka. Sautéed shrimp and scallops were very small. She was underwhelmed to say the least. I did taste her meal and agreed that they were the smallest shell fish I'd ever seen. But, the flavor was good. We capped of our meals with a Panna Cotta. Madagascar vanilla bean custard with fresh raspberries. A nice ending to a good meal. Of course it goes without saying that the warm bread and dipping oil are to die for. I was very impressed with our service by Adam. He was very attentive and always kept our drinks full. 5 stars for Adam!

I will always love this restaurant regardless of its location. Never disappoints me on the quality of food nor service. Of course I had to get some wine and went with the light Roscato and it was delicious. If visiting to this restaurant ask for Carilynn. She took very good care of us and made the experience much better.

I don't know if I've changed or the food has. The new location is great, clean and nice. Our first visit here, the waiter was more interested in being entertaining to his friends than being attentive and the food was meh. Our last visit, the service and food was better, but I think I'm not a bread and pasta fan anymore. It's yummy, but I had unpleasant reactions to the wheat. Never had that till this last time.

Steak and mushroom Marsala was to die for...server didn't even allow my cup to reach 25% empty...quick to offer options...My first Carabas was in Miami and it was horrible...this one is absolutely awesome...environment was relaxing and pleasant...loved it.

This location is just in front of the Husband's new work place, so I met him down here before my dance class and enjoyed a lovely dinner alfresco one evening. We dined on the patio, as the night started to fall and realized the lighting was quite poor. The service was a bit slow as well, but we figured that was probably because our waiter had inside tables too. Over all, the food was very good, and the location is quite nice.

Always a very nice meal with fine service at a reasonable price. The restaurant is always clean, service is right on target and the food is tasty with nice presentation. The Lentil Soup starter tonight would have been a nice meal in itself, but my entree of Shrimp & Scallops alla Vodka was very well done, and I enjoyed every morsel. This is a nice choice as a 'go to' place for very good chow.

Meh. We've had better meals at different Carrabbas. The service was fine, and I must say that they have some very attractive servers here--male and female. Our soups were as usual, but our salads were bland. It just felt like it was missing something compared to our usual location is St. Pete. The entrees were usually good. The standouts were the steak marsala, chicken parmesan, and chicken Bryan. They were all as good as usual. The menu items that were not so good were the lasagna (kept falling apart, no cheese), the cavatappi dish (can't remember the name, was tossed in oil and has very little flavor), and the tag pic pac (not flavorful, but was less salty than usual. We've had all of these at our usual location (minus the cavatappi dish), and they were all better there than here. Our post meal coffee and dessert were good, but it was slightly unprofessional (in my opinion) how they had three Nespresso machines on the server island. When we ordered espresso, we watched them pop a Nespresso pod into the machine and let it brew. It tasted good, but I was picturing something more...classy. They could have at least kept the machines in the kitchen. With the food being either average or sub par, and this place being further than our usual location (a guest was staying at the Holiday Inn nearby), we won't be back.

Its American Italian. Portions are huge. I came here with the grandparents for an authentic Clearwater experience. I had the trio with Lasagne. Veal Parm and Spaghetti. All of it was decent. Service was also quite good. I couldn't get over how large the place was. It seems like it has 300+ seats. Despite this the food came out quickly. The complimentary bread was also quite good.

I'm just going to dive in here. I went here on a Saturday night for dinner so I expected a long wait. However, the wait wasn't too bad. I waited for about 20 minutes and was sent to a table. The place was very crowded and it made me feel cramped but it was ok. My waitress...was not the best waiter. She introduced herself and then proceeded to ask my guest if her eyes were real or contacts. My guest felt uncomfortable, as did I. That was not polite, whatsoever. We shrugged it off and the proceeded to order our meals. Once we ordered, my flatbread pizza was cold. :( It was good but...cold. Our waitress then came to check on us and told us that we were eating too slow. She clearly was in a rush and we were not impressed. I can't say that I will return to this place because the menu wasn't that diverse and the food wasn't to die for. I also didn't appreciate the waitress. My guest did enjoy their food though and so that's worth something at least.

We were greeted and sat immediately on a Friday night which was kind of surprising. We ordered the calamari and one of the bruchetta appetizers which were cooked correctly but not anything really memorable. I had the lentil soup which was delicious and then the prosciutto wrapped pork tenderloin and port wine glaze with a side of pasta (spaghetti and marinara) which again was cooked perfectly but lacked some pop in flavor and the side of pasta was definitely just there as filler. The service was great, our waitress was very energetic and was very on top of everything.

Very tasty place! The hostesses were very polite when we came in, the waiter was quick with refills, very patient with ordering, and had great presence, and the food was awesome. I was very jealous of my dates dish, he got the Chicken Bryan. My pasta dish with vodka sauce was great too though :) I was impressed!

I came here today for lunch with some of my coworkers. Although this "new" Carrabba's has been here for quite some time, this was surprisingly my first time here. The ambience inside was very nice, with a warm, inviting feel and a large and modern bar. We sat at a round booth, which was plenty big to accommodate our group of 5 and we were greeted by the server quickly. I ordered the shrimp risotto from the lunch menu and added an italian salad as well. The salad and warm bread (with their famous oil dipping sauce) came out to our table right away. The bread was good as always, the salad was tasty too but I could have lived without the massive onions. The meal came out next and was average. The tomato-y flavor of the sauce on the risotto was not as good as it could have been, but it was okay overall. The service continued to be prompt and friendly and we were soon on our way back to the average. I gave it 3 stars since it was just an average experience overall. I probably would come here again, but I normally prefer to go to small family owned or unique places rather than large chain restaurants such as this one.

Lunch was superbly delicious. The service was almost perfect. An error in service was corrected very quickly by Alan. Empowered employees make all the difference in the service based industry. We look forward to coming back again in the future. 2 out 2 visits are great. Keep up the good work.

I heard a lot of good things about this restaurant and everyone says I have to go here. I usually like to go to Olive garden when I come to the mainland. But everyone says that this place is much better. They tell me Olive Garden then Macaroni Grill then Carrabba's at the top. I now know what they mean. This place was fantastic. I was hanging from the night before so I couldn't enjoy it how I would have wanted to. I ordered the Italian Classic which is Lasagne and Chicken Parmesan. I wanted to order something that I couldn't get at another restaurant but had to order something that would be easy to eat. Both entrees was delicious. My girlfriend ordered the Chicken trio so that I could sample what I missed ordering. All 3 chickens were excellent. Bread and soup were also delicious. Service was great. I know now why they would choose here vs. Olive Garden.

I generally like Carrabas a lot, and this location is quite nice. First, it is a good location on Gulf-to-Bay near all the hot spots. This particular restaurant is also quite nice, with a comfortable outdoor waiting area and both indoor and outdoor seating. I enjoy the food here, incluidng the fresh bread, interesting salads, and the wide variety of entrees. My favorite is the sirloin marsala, or some of the combo dishes that give a trio of different meat entrees. The prices are on the high side for chain italian food, but not offensive. The sirloin marsala is about $18 at dinner time--incluidng a salad and a side. I do have one complaint. They do not server their modified lunch menu on Sundays. This, in itself, is not unusual. However, they have signs on every table that say lunch is available "every day." If find that to be extremely misleading. When we asked about that, they tried to accomodate our requests but there were a number of items they could not do from the lunch menu. They need to change their sign that promises a lunch menu "every day."

I will definitely be coming back here again. They have better pasta then the Cheesecake Factory for sure. Their pasta was so exquisite!!! You can taste all the splendid flavors and ingredients they carefully use in their creations. The prices are decent and to be expected and are totally worth it! The restaurants layout is nice and it's a great place for a date! Not to noisy and the staff are wonderful!

I really enjoyed getting dinner at Carrabas and they were extremely accommodating to my dairy and gluten allergy. I stared with their chicken soup which was absolutely divine. I highly recommend the soup. My main meal was a plan grilled chicken breast they cooked in a separate pan and roasted carrots. Chicken was plain but the roasted carrots were also amazing! Overall, a good place to get a nice dinner where the staff is extremely accommodating and will try their best to cater to your allergies.

This is a new store in a very busy location over by Clearwater Mall. My sister and I were sat after a 5 minute wait last night. The restaurant was crazy busy at 7:00 p.m.--it appeared that all hands were on deck. Our server was good, very busy but we didn't feel ignored. We ordered iced tea that tasted old or somehow off but it wasn't a big deal. I love their fresh bread with oil and spices to dip. My salad was fresh, but kind of lacking as it only had carrots, celery and one or two little olives. I ordered the polla rosa which was excellent--two chicken breasts stuffed with fontina and proiscutto, then covered in mushrooms, basil and a lemon cream sauce. It was excellent, especially with their amazing garlic mash. My sister had the marsala which she's had many times and said it was great. Despite how busy they were, we were in and out in under an hour without feeling rushed. All in all, this is a good location and I will be back.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
