Hmmm. I've been there 3 times but i haven't been recently. Two times, I had a huge salad that was a 4/5 and another time I had a rib dinner and it was fantastic.

For what it is--a chain BBQ place with a cute but overdone redneck theme--it's pretty good. The interior of the Chiefland location is cozy and better planned-out than others I've visited such as the Bronson one, too. The staff is friendly and seem to care that their customers enjoy their meals. As for the food, it's not of the home-cooked caliber of Pearl Country Store (Micanopy) or Akin's BBQ (Bell), but it's far far better than Sonny's or any other chain I've ever tried. My pork sandwich was juicy and they have a variety of sauces at the table including a really good Carolina-style sauce. The mac-n-cheese side was ok, but not impressive and I found their greens also to be fine, but nothing special. The serving sizes are more than ample and their sweet tea is done right. If I was looking for the best BBQ in north-central Florida, no, this wouldn't be it, but for a quick meal it sure beats other fast food or chain places by a long shot. I was not aware until I read Carl B's review they have a full bar however, I thought at the most they offered bottled beer. Interesting.

Stopped in for some BBQ on our way to Tallahassee. We ordered the ribs, fried pickles & fried green tomatoes. Mmmm good!

When I arrived at Bubba Que's I wrote in my check in tip "Always Good" then I ordered. Yep you guessed it "Not Always" should be the tip. Carl B. hit the nail on the head on his review, he may have slammed them on the star rating, I'd say a good 2 1/2 star rating. At least on the dish I had. The Food: I had ordered the beef brisket sandwich. As Carl B. stated the food was dry and tasteless. I say ditto! My brisket had no flavor, it tasted previously frozen, bland and disappointing. I had to pour BBQ sauce to get a taste of something. I also ordered French Fries, they were of the frozen bagged variety that you'd find from Or' Ida. The Service: The server was great, no complaints; however, the timeliness for my sad sandwich was not appropriate, as I waited for what seemed an eternity for my sad sandwich. I hate to slam Bubba Que's so bad, as I have had great ribs at there other restaurants. I won't ever get the brisket sandwich again, but will still go to the other Bubba Que's. I know a strange dichotomy. I've been to different Bubba Que's and liked them, I actually detoured my trip to go to tryout Chiefland's newest. Alas, Yelper .......... Hit the nail on the head

This is a must stop on our trips between Tampa and Tallahassee. The wait staff are cute and always friendly. The menu items are priced right. The baked beans are cooked well and the sweet potato fries are always crispy. We have all tried most everything on the menu and all is good. The ribs are average but definitely not fatty, but the pulled pork, smoked sausage and brisket are cooked very well. Love this place.

Do you want dry, tasteless food? Then you will love this place! Terrible food at a terrible price. I'd rather go hungry than eat at this place again. I'll try and explain ... I ordered chicken fingers and got two of them on tasteless toast with onion rings in the middle? They have BBQ sauce, 8 or 10 kinds and they all suck. My brother ordered the ribs with collard greens ... the ribs were dry, like they were sitting under a heat-lamp for hours ... and the collard greens ... well ... He asked for butter ... and the waitress said they only had margarine in liquid form. The only upside is they have a full bar ... and you'll need it once your food arrives.

This used to be a decent restaurant in the old location but not anymore. I had visited the old location several times and had good food and service. At the new location I ordered and sat and waited, and waited, and waited and when I finally received my food and drink I was not like it used to be. The BBQ sandwich was very skimpy and no seasoning to the meat at all. I had to drown it with sauce to taste anything. The service was also horrid. The servers were to busy talking to each other and playing on their phones to pay any attention to customers. Not one time did I get checked on for more drink or to see how the food was. The place only had 6 customers in it so it wasn't like they were slammed. After sitting for 10 minutes with no drink I just said to hell with it and left. I will never return to a Bubba Ques in any location
