Absolutely disgusting. I read the reviews on yelp and google and HOPED for something even semi edible. I was really hopeful but should have known that what categorized as 'real' Thai' food in Cape coral can't pass for mall food in any other part of the country. Ordered Pad Thai thinking if you claim to be Thai you can't mess that one up. You do. NASTY. NASTY. NASTY. CRAP! No bamboo shoots- nothing but nasty overdone noodles with msg sauce! HORRID! Chicken Lomein - EQUALLY DISGUSTING! NASTY! I am so disappointed. Was hoping for edible! NOT! And they have the assumption that they can charge like 10.95 for a small plate of sub par mall food. PLEASE. Soup- horrible- chicken has no flavor. They bought the base somewhere and threw the chicken pieces in later. GROSS! I will post a picture of the food and the box we took it out in. It was a miracle whip box. Tell me why a Thai restaurant buys Miracle Whip by the case. Oh wait- I think I know. In a dump strip mall and get this... they charge you 25% to eat there! HA HA! If you are visiting from any place with decent Thai food- don't waste your time eating at this place. Okay- awesome business opportunity for a great Thai restaurant- come to Cape Coral and make a million! This place makes Panda Kitchen in the mall seem like gourmet. $35 takeout for two- in the trash. Lesson learned. Update: I called to complain after writing this review. The rude girl that takes the orders was again rude to me and then gave the phone to a guy who yelled at me and told me I was trying to get free food. (A joke since I never asked for a refund of any type. I simply called to complain.) Eventually he was screaming and told me to come down there so he could kick my ***. Nice huh? This is how you resolve complaints about the food? I hung up on the guy. About 10 minutes later we got a phone call back from the place and my husband took the call. He was furious as he had heard the conversation. It turned out to be the manager or owner or both that somehow heard what was going on and called to try and clear things up. He did state that he was having a meeting and someone was getting fired. However, he also told us that the cooks there told him that the reason the food tastes bad is because of the Cape Coral water. What more can I say??? *** update Oct 13- after looking at the beautiful photos posted by a TM- I had to wonder where she was eating. It was definitely not at the Siam Hut I went to. Guess what? When you only have one review....and it is of Siam Hut... well now I understand. I think I've seen those photos on a wonderful San Fran Thai restaurants website. Hmmm...

Although you may miss this hidden gem as its in a strip mall off Del Prado, it's worth turning around! Food is consistently good and timely. The main lady hostess can be a but persnickety about where you sit (some tables seem off limits!). But just adds a bit of a story to tell when you rave about the food.

I was looking forward to the food because there were good reviews. So ---I am disappointed. The restaurant's dishes are too sweet, which kills its taste. They don't taste intriguing "Thai food". Even green curry was very sweet--which is usually my favorite in general. I order a green curry everywhere---any Thai restaurants all over the world ......in Bangkok, Honolulu, India(Imperial hotel and Oberoi), New York and Cancun. This was the worst, sweet, tasteless green curry. Pad thai and spring roll were ok,

It's important to note that I lived in Thailand. Phuket specifically, in the Koh Keow area on the East side of the island (away from tourist traps and where the locals eat). So I've had so truly amazing Thai food. THIS IS NOT IT. Don't get me wrong, it's not a terrible place, and it does have a pretty cute dining room. The food is just not Thai food. They don't use kaffir lime leaves or thai peppers in their Tom Yum Gai (or any other recipe). C'mon!!! If you don't use the proper ingredients, it's not OK to call it authentic Thai food. It would be like going to a BBQ place and finding out they only have sushi. Disappointing. But if you've never had any better, I'm sure you'll be pleased. Foodies need not apply here.

This place is awesome. Last time we were on vacation in Cape Coral we went back to this place three times. I usually have the "Duck Royal", probably one of the best duck dishes I've ever had. Service is prompt and attentive. We'll be back!

Both my husband and I are Thai food lovers. We have been to many Thai restaurants through out the country. Our general experience with Thai restaurants in new places are always good and have experienced very few were disappointing. However, this is the most unsatisfied Thain food experience we have ever had. The curry tofu was so sweet and did not tast much curry. My dish was nothing like Thai food, more like Chinese. So to keep it short, I do not recommend this restranrent if you are really looking for good Thai food. This being said, the people are very friendly and the restaurant is nicely decorated. Despite we were not satisfied with the food, we left good tips to the waiter and she was super friendly.

I've been fortunate to live in Las Vegas where there are gazillions of great restaurants, so the Cape Coral/Ft. Myers area is disappointing. I'm a local resident now though, and always looking for a good restaurant. Siam Hut isn't the best Thai restaurant I've ever eaten at, but our experience there last night will bring us back for another try. We had chicken satay with peanut sauce and cucumber salad, green curry with chicken, and stir-fried pork with cashews, onions and carrots. All 3 dishes were flavorful with unique flavors and sauces. We purposely ordered "mild" for our first time, so that we could judge their heat scale. Mild was definitely mild. Next time we will ask for hot and see how that is. The restaurant's atmosphere is pleasant and clean and the space is tastefully decorated. Thai music was playing, which I think adds to the overall experience. The service was very friendly and attentive. I observed a huge amount of take-out business which indicates repeat customers. And I also saw many folks walk in who immediately waved to employees as though they were repeat customers. That indicates that the restaurant is good enough to bring people back. Hubby and I both visited the restrooms and they were very clean and well maintained. That matters to us. If a restaurant doesn't care what their bathrooms look like (and you get to see those), then you can only imagine what the kitchen (which you don't get to see) might look like!

I've been coming here since I was little, and it will always be my favorite restaurant in Cape Coral. The calamari with baby corn is delicious :)

Easily one of my favorite restaurants in the area. The Siam Rolls and red or green curries are our favorite. It's busy because it's so beloved by the Cape Coral natives, but I don't mind a wait. It's so worth it.

My husband and I are new to the area and were looking for a good Thai restaurant. We thought we'd give Siam Hut a try because it had so many good reviews. I don't like to leave negative reviews but we just didn't have a good experience. We ordered takeout and got the wonton soup and the tom kha gai soup. Neither was very good. The tom kha gai was overly sweet, yet loaded with huge chunks of onions. My husband got sweet and sour pork and said it was average, at best. I got the Duck Royal and the whole thing tasted really bad. The flavors did not meld well together at all. $42 was a lot to spend and we actually threw most of it away, something we never do. I guess we'll try another Thai restaurant next time. Sorry.

The tasty food was overshadowed by the surly hostess on Thursday night. We were a party of 4 and greeted with hostility and later, a party of 7 also received the same bad attitude treatment from the hostess. My friend's entree did not come out of the kitchen until we were all finished. When we asked about the missing entree, the hostess said IT'S COMING but never said she was sorry for the delay. Hopefully, IF we return, the hostess will have improved her attitude.

This is the best Thai in SWFL. I compare all pad thai to Siam Hut. The knom being thai crepe is literally one of the best creations on earth if you ask me. Coconut, peanut, bean sprouts, and i have no idea what else but its heavenly. The panang curry is another favorite loaded with veggies and protein of your choice (pork for me). There are some staple servers and i often see the owner and am happy to visit when ever i can. Was super happy to see them so busy the other night it was an hour wait for a take out order. Keep our local business busy!!

This is Chinese food masquerading as Thai. The seasonings used for flavor and heat are nothing like real Thai food. Even the rice was desiccated and gross. Entrees came with a watery/salty soup with nondescript balls of what appear to be monkey brain (see photo). If this is the best Thai in Cape Coral, don't eat Thai in Cape Coral.

Outstanding Thai food. Servers are very well informed and guide choices very well. Peace and quiet and excellent food!

Always satisfied with the portions and price. The Red curry is delicious. Wait staff usually good with English, always pleasant. Clean atmosphere, quite and comfortable. Pad Thai is also well done.

This is certainly one of the better Thai restaurants in the Fort Myers/Cape Coral area, and we've tried quite a few. The five of us made a reservation and when we arrived they had a small round table ready for us. It was really rather small, so we requested the table next to the window that was on an elevated platform. It was quite nice. ALERT: For some reason (and they did warn us of this in advance) they add 25% to your bill for sitting there. Not cool. There is also a loud metallic chime on the door and every time it opens it rings for 5-10 seconds. Pleasant the first time, but it becomes annoying soon. Food - 5 STARS Ambiance - 5 STARS Location - 4 STARS Service - 5 STARS A nice place, aside from the 25% surcharge and constant chimes, which cause the 1 STAR demerit.

Visiting Cape Coal: I cannot believe how good the food is! I eat in NYC all the time and this is as good as it gets. Incredible Penang Chicken Curry with curry leaves and perfectly cooked vegatables! The place is wonderful with attentive staff, and my dining partner had the Si-ra-chi fried rice stuffed with seafood, and he ate is all and said it's perfect and as he requested; spicy! Thank you for the wonderful experience :)

I enjoyed the Thai food but it was not by far the best I have ever had. It is pretty loud inside and when I asked our waitress if we could move to another table because they had just seated a very very loud table of 4 next to us it seemed to piss the waitress off. We had not even ordered when we placed this request. I told her that I could see they were old friends getting together and we did not want to stop them from having a good time. Yet our waitress acted like we were a problem. From that point on our service was poor at best. Food wise it was pretty good, but I have had fantastic Thia food in the past so I am comparing this to a great Thia restaurants in Bedford Ma. I like my veggies aldente which is traditional Thai cooking. These were well done. The sauces were pretty good and the portions were good, although I did have to beg for more white rice.. I will go back and try the food again. Maybe the waitress won't have a bad attitude this time.

Having recently moved to the area, I was craving Thai food and had no idea where to turn, until good old Yelp stepped in and saved me, and like always, its reviews were right on the money! When I called to place my and my boyfriend's orders from their menu ( siamhutcapecoral.com/Men… ), the worker was extremely friendly and the staff accommodating of my special request--substitute extra veggies for the tofu--while even proactively offering to put the hot sauce on the side. I also learned that they don't use MSG in any of their dishes, which is the hallmark of a quality restaurant in my book. When we went to pick up the food, we found that the restaurant is very unassuming from the outside--in a strip mall on east Del Prado just north of Cape Coral Parkway--but the interior is dimly-lit in a very appealing way (not "crappy florescent light" dimly-lit; the "deliberate intimate atmosphere" variety). This made me sad we didn't dine in, but we definitely will be next time! After much deliberation over narrowing my choice to just one item, I decided to order their vegetable Pad Thai, while my partner got the Masaman Curry. Both were just as expected from past experience, but very robust and flavorful, and great portion sizes for the price. Both of us made multiple dinners out of the substantial amount of remaining food, and we enjoyed silent meals the rest of the week. :)

Being from California I feel its rare that I find an Asian restaurant of any type that is better than those from home. Siam Hut takes the cake for me as far as thai food goes though. I have never eaten such flavorful Thai in my life. I would surely recommend the whole fried fish in chili sauce. Both times I have gone it has been fresh whole yellowtail snapper. The chili sauce is absolutely incredible with chunks of fried basil and garlic and chilies. Pad thai is awesome. The Tom Kha Gai soup was fantastic as well. The only problem i experienced while I was there was the fact that my stomach could only hold so much food and I had to stop eating..

I was in the mood for Thai food. This place had been recommended by my hair dresser. Plus it had gotten lots of good remarks in Yelp, TripAdvisor , and Urbanspoon. In this situation they were sooo right. I would give this eatery 5 and half stars. 5 for food and the half for great service.. I was a bit hungry so I started with a Thai tea and a appetizer of GIEW ZA.( pan fried dumpling stuffed with ground pork, ginger & scallion with a warm soya sauce.) GOOD. The folks were very patient and helpful with me . Through out my meal they made sure I had all I needed or wanted. I ordered LOMIEN,( stir fried fried egg noodles with bamboo shoots, snow peas, mushroom, and bean sprouts) I requested it spicy and they offered and brought hot sauce paste so I may regulated me heat. The dish was outstanding. The salad was tangy with a ginger sauce and soup though a bit mild was delish. While there I heard a few calls for reservations and such. So this is a popular and good place to get the feed bag on. When need for Thai food check this place out.

The food was ok but the service was horrible! I felt unwelcome and felt like a burden with every request.. But my requests were all very minimal and reasonable. Can I have a water. Can I please have a refill on my water. Can I ADD another entree to our order (aka more money for you). The lady that was our server made me feel like crap for asking. Not a very good experience. The food was mediocre at best.

I ordered take out chicken pad thai and special fried rice for lunch recently. Yum! I had some bad pad thai before that in Las Vegas and New Orleans, so this was such a wonderful reminder of what the dish can be. Fair prices and nice waitresses for check out. The 2 lunch servings lasted me for 4 meals at home. I plan to eat there again very soon.

I recommend coming here for any meal however I would say that Lunch is the better option because they give you soup and salad and these fried noodle appetizers. With that said, the dinner menu has more options and larger portions but the soup/salad/fried noodles are not included. My favorite(s) are the Red Curry or the Panang Curry Chicken. They have excellent traditional stir fry offerings if you're skeptical of going full on Thai. The Thai tea is really awesome too, it is a creamy/sweet tea (not like a southern sweet tea). The ambiance is usually very quiet and romantic and fairly old fashioned (that is a good thing). The service here is great. I would drop in once per week when I lived here. A staple to Cape Coral.

We're a couple from Germany. We found this restaurant through Yelp. The first time we drove away because from outside it looks awful from a european perspective. The second time we went in...and it was great. The food is really good. In Frankfurt we have a lot of good restaurants but this taste is delicious. Therefore we give five stars. Normally we have to reduce a star because of the m service, but the taste overrules the service. The ambiente is OK. Give it a try...

For years this was our spot for our Christmas Eve dinner. The food is fairly decent but with few exceptions the service is terrible. Upon arriving we asked for a table at the back as there were several fairly large, noisy tables at the front. We should have known better as we've had this waitress before and have never been treated particularly well. Our waitress made no effort to hide the fact that she didn't like this request, apparently because she had to set the silverware at a previously empty table. She then rushed off before she had taken drink orders from everyone, apparently one out of four of us was invisible to her. On her return we mentioned her omission, she was now quite obviously put out with us and was quite rude. We asked to speak to a manager and, while he showed up quickly, instead of an apology we received lame excuses for her poor behavior. Because we were with friends we stayed and had our meal but we will absolutely never return.

Their Panang Curry is a must!! Renown all over America. Friends I know that moved drive straight to this place to get some of their Delcine food! And the atmosphere is so chique.

I grew up delighted by the thai food at Siam Hut, then I moved to San Francisco and I find it difficult to get a pad thai as delicious as the Pad Thai Puk here at good old siam hut! I really love the waiters and waitresses, but the only time I have encountered the owner he was a HUGE jerk. Seriously, my family is as loyal as can be to this place but we stopped going for a few years simply because he treated with pure hatred for no reason. Since we started going back I haven't seen him around, maybe he figured out that he is bad for business. Haha. LOVE the food!

I have been going to the Siam Hut for 28 years. It is a family owned business, a hidden gem in Cape Coral. I almost always order the same things: Tom Ka Gai soup, Thai Salad, and the stir fry with ginger, mushroom, and onion. If I then want something sweet, I order the fried banana (wrapped and fried, then drizzled with honey and sesame seed). For drink, I order the Thai Tea, iced but not with cream. I love the creamed tea, but it is very sweet and more of a dessert drink in my way of thinking. The outside isn't much, just a strip mall, but inside I enjoy the quiet serene atmosphere. The service is usually very good. But like many family businesses, I admit the service can vary by the day. I overlook any small service issues because I enjoy the food so much. Even my husband, a meat and potatoes kinda guy, enjoys the food. Definitely worth going to try if you haven't already!

The food is just ok, nothing to write home about, and really, nothing to return for. There are much better Thai restaurants around.

we found this place because we were craving for some Thai food. the food was alright but the service for our first and only visit was horrible. one of us was trying to get some more water but it seems like none of the server wants to come anywhere close to our table and they werent busy at all. just us and another table at the other end. one of the server was busy sweeping the floor while we were waving our arms in the air trying to get her attention. I mean, come on.... sweeping while they still have customers in the store? and how in the hell does she think that sweeping was far more important than serving the customers? I have never been back since. and I gave them one star plainly for the mediocre food~

  • Ryan O.

I give Siam Hut 5 stars for the food only. The service would have been 5 stars however, we had 2 of our entrees brought out, then 10 minutes later the third one shows up, then 10 minutes later the last one finally arrived. This is, by all means, not an exaggeration. WTF?! The food was amazing but come on!! In America we wait until everyone has their food to start eating and the ladies sat with pad Thai under their nose for 20 minutes. Was it busy u ask? I'd say maybe 5 other tables seated. I've never seen anything like it in my life. I highly recommend the place, however I will only be ordering take out from here on.

This restaurant is amazing and has been for years! My family has frequented Siam Hut since I was a child. The food is always delicious and flavorful. Overall, the dishes are affordable, too. My favorites are the lo mein, pad si ew, and pad ki mao, although I really haven't had a dish that I dislike. The curry puff appetizer is delicious, too! Give them a try!

As far as thai food goes it's not bad. The atmosphere was relatively authentic. I have had better thai and my chicken pad woone seen tasted kind of fishy and I ordered mine hot and it really wasn't that spicy. Not a bad place to grab lunch though. The server was nice and friendly

This place amazed me when I walked inside, I did not expect the place to have such a great atmosphere. I do not have a fully-developed Thai palette, but everything here I have tried is great. Very quaint and the wait staff is very attentive.

This place rules. i grew up eating here with my family on a regular basis since before I can even remember. The food was always great and the staff was always so friendly. My whole family loved 'em. I don't live in FL anymore, but now I want to go back next time I'm home for a visit!

My all time favorite Thai restaurant. The service is awesome. Pick your degree of hotness and they will deliver.

  • Cameron C.

Missing basil fried rice from the menu which seems to be a staple at many Thai restaurants, but otherwise the chicken fried rice was very good. Great service, prompt food delivery and a terrific meal overall. The only minor complaint is that for a Thai place ordering something spicy hot didn't even break medium on a heat scale.
