There are a lot of redeeming qualities about the Asia Buffet, though they seem a bit higher priced than they should be for the atmosphere, service and food quality. While much of the food has been "so-so", I have found none to be what I would consider bad and many that has been wonderful (and oh, those egg cakes!). They do have a great selection, even better compared to similar cuisine buffets in the area. The biggest downers for me is the slow replacement of empty items. There are always empties with just a few hard-baked crumbs lining the bottom and each time we have visited, they remain bare. It seems odd to have a buffet that takes 40 or more minutes to refill food. Service is hit or miss. We have had great service and awful service, both at busy and dead times. The staff is always friendly to patrons but we have witnessed much yelling and barking of orders between staffers. Also odd that they have signs declaring they will charge you per pound of food left on our plate. I guess I understand not liking the waste but to charge for it? I am not convinced on that one. There is something to please every palate, from vegan to vegetarian to carnivore and all points in between. I have not seen a problem with the oysters so don't understand the negative reviews there. The hibachi is wonderful, the sushi is plentiful and made fresh, often as you watch. It also has a more private area for private parties for which there is no charge to utilize and they offer fun things on their own for birthdays. Overall, I feel it's a wee bit overpriced for what it is ($18 per person with soda) but we have and will continue to return.

Yelp gives two stars for a 'meh' review. I give Asia Buffet 3 stars and still, "meh". Parking is plentiful. Dining room is fairly clean and nicely decorated. Service is good and attentive (I mean, they're really just re-filling drinks and bringing the check). Restrooms are very small and dark (bad lighting, they try to be cute with some blue LED's in there but if you're in a stall, it's very dark) Restrooms are hit or miss, sometimes very clean, sometimes filthy. The buffet area is quite large with tons to choose from, a hibachi grill, sushi (so-so) bar, salad, desserts, ice creams and the usual Chinese fare. You really have to know what to get here. It takes practice. I like the hot and sour soup, the hibachi, salmon, egg rolls, and a few other items. One of my favorites, General Tso chicken, really leaves a lot to be desired here. A lot. And then there's the crab legs. Ahh, yes the crab legs. Well, they are good, plump, juicy and all you can eat Therein lies the problem. For some reason, Asia Buffet is a magnet for people who want to go out for a seafood dinner but don't (or can't afford to) want to pay for it. So they come here and eat NOTHING but crab legs. On several occasions, I have witnessed diners literally load up plates full of crab legs and leave none for the other diners until more is cooked. On my last visit in fact, the lady in front of me loaded up three plates of crab legs (all for herself) until the tray was completely empty, leaving none for me or the guests behind me. As it turns out, she was seated at the table right next to me and so I asked her very politely if she thought it was reasonable to have three plates of crab and stiff the rest of us, and did she think they were going to run out? I mean, really, by the time you finish one plate, you could go back and get more, but now I have to wait because all of the crab is on your table. She told me very rudely that unless I was paying her bill, she was free to do as she pleased. (Some people really should stay home and eat) I digress, but I do think this is something the management should address just so that all guests get their fair share. One other thing that bugs me are the signs everywhere warning you to eat everything you put on your plate or else any waste will be weighed and you will be charged $x.xx amount on your bill. I get it, I really do. It's to discourage the gluttonous pigs that sometimes frequent these buffets to keep their gluttony in check, but I personally don't need the signs. But then again, if you've seen the clientele in here sometimes, they do need a reminder. All in all, Asia Buffet is a good value, I will probably return again when I'm on that side of town, but it's not something I will go out of my way for. Try it, you may like it.

My husband and I come here all the time. We love it. They did raise the price a bit, but hey all you can eat crab legs, oysters, crawfish and a whole bunch of other delectables..

Moved to Cape Coral a few weeks ago, and we have been looking for a good Chinese buffet. Unfortunately, this is definitely not it! I almost feel like I never to never eat Chinese food again. And lets talk about the prices... $13.99 per adult, and $7 per child. So $40 later here we are... and BTW, many of the "clean" dishes were dirty and had old food stuck to them. never again.

stopped in on valentines day for the lobster special #allmyou can et for 19.99 the lobster wasFRIEd and dryli. kky - called led before hand and was told if someone in the party did not like lobster they would just have to pay 12.99 for the regular buffet got there and was tols d this is not because All had to pay 19.99

I went here once when I was on vacation. I was exploring Cape Coral and decided to eat here. Food was okay and the selection was pretty good. However, the MSG was insane. My family and I went straight home and napped for FOUR HOURS. Don't go here please, it's not worth it. Plus, it's really kind of dirty. Not a good experience.

I was nervous to eat here. There were few diners there at the time we were there and it seemed as if the food had been sitting out for far too long. All of the fried items were dried up and I just couldn't bring myself to try the salad bar. Also, they start their dinner prices very early, around 330 and they post signs everywhere that they will weigh and charge you extra for any food you leave on your plate. So, was I supposed to eat the stale, old food so I wouldn't be charged extra for it? Ummm, no thanks. I think a Chinese joint at a mall food court would be a better choice than this place!

Just okay....drove over from Fort Myers in search of a great buffet. This isn't it. Better than most around. Food was a little bland, not very fresh, but large selection. I'll come again till I find that perfect one.

Big location, not all in clean, but good service. Food was great and we take a lot to our table. They had everything we want, Sushi and a lot of Asian food and also desserts. We had our last evening in Cape Coral there and if I come back, I get back to Asia Buffet.

1st time here... Took my mom to Asia Buffet for mother's day. While I can't speak on their food on a day to day basis, but for what I just encountered, I can't tell you how good the food was. From oyster's to sushi to ribs, chicken , lobster and those dam dumplings... It was perfect!! Usually when one goes to a buffet the food is always dried out due to the heat lamps keeping the food warm, that problem was not present at my delightful journey's. While I would love to detail the wonderful taste and flavor each plate of food I've picked up, take my word for it..Very very well executed, and the all you could eat lobster is very very messy but once you get to taste the lobster meat, your diving in hands 1st. Keep in mind when they have the all lobster buffet each person will pay $19.99, and for what I just tasted it well worth it.

This place is OK. The Sushi is pretty good with a wide selection. The egg rolls were good.. but the rest of the hot foods are not very good. I got my $10 worth of sushi, I know that for sure..lol... For $10 with an Iced Tea.. you can beat this... It also looks like they have a full bar with some specialty drinks.

My husband came here late-ish (7:30pm) on a weeknight. It was fairly busy but we were seated right away. Good sushi selection, but it IS Chinese buffet sushi, so don't get too excited! Lots and lots of food, but it wasn't labeled well and was a bit confusing. Disappointed by the dessert selection. Our empty plates were taken away quickly and our waters were kept full. My husband and I both had massive headaches the next day, and my husband insists it was from the MSG. Who knows. It is a decent Chinese Buffet, though not the best I've had, in Fort Myers/Cape Coral or elsewhere.

Almost everything was delicious ....sushi surprisingly good and fresh. We had a scorpion bowl for 2 [a large alcohol drink to share ] and it was just $13 .Decors a little funky you can tell it was an old ihop ,they even repurposed the syrup bottles for soy sauce .All in a good place for a cheap and delicious date .We will be back!

Came during a busy time so expected food to be more fresh. the stir fry is worth the wait though. By the looks of all the pervious reviews perhaps it's hit or miss on the day you go. The fact that the have a full bar it's a redeeming bonus for those who want to liquored up while they eat. I love Chinese food so in comparison to all the other places I've been to I've had better more often than worse compared to this place.

Took the family for a nite out. Was in the mood for Chinese food. Should have gotten take out. Food did not look fresh nor did it taste fresh. Had to wait for the General Tso (my favorite) however when I got it it was very disappointing -- sauce was thin and tasted old. EXPENSIVE -- Drinks were $2.00 apiece and the Buffet was 11.99 apiece. And signs saying they charge for uneaten food!! Gross!!!!!!! Food was terrible -- Would never eat here again.

The food here is terrible, most of the dishes were very greasy - I order Chinese takeout regularly at home and they're known to be pretty greasy but the food from this buffet was even greasier ! The General Tso's Chicken was basically a large goop of grease, ugh. I took a look at the "raw bar" since I love oysters but they looked far from fresh so I decided to stay away, same thing with the sushi bar. Not recommended.

It seems that Asian food is all lump together but I was impress with the selection of sushi-style items - various hot dishes(crab legs, roasted duck, bbq ribs, fried shrimp, etc.) - salad bar (various leafy greens, fruit, sides and dressings) - dessert bar (pastries, cake, jello, ice cream, fruit in syrup) - stir fry bar (assemble your bowl and the chef cooks it for you). I sample a bit of each pretty good. Short wait nice folks. I enjoyed the sushi too. This is actually the best eatery I have been in since moving to The Cape.. It would give folks a run if they were in SF Chinatown. So if you are hungry give them a try.. *******I went back for lunch. Tried the hibachi bar. You pick the ingredient they cook it up in front of you. Chicken, beef ,shrimp, noodles (rice/regular type) different sauces. It fun and taste all so good.

I've now been to this buffet three times, and both the food and service has been consistently good. Service has been great, each time we've gone. The wait to get a table is quite short, IF your party is 5 or less. If you have more folks, then you might have to wait longer for a table. This happened to another party waiting for a table when we arrived. We got seated first, because our party was smaller. Something to consider. Their selection is pretty standard for most asian style buffets: - a selection of sushi-style items - various hot dishes(crab legs, roasted duck, bbq ribs, fried shrimp, etc.) - salad bar (various leafy greens, fruit, sides and dressings) - dessert bar (pastries, cake, jello, ice cream, fruit in syrup) - stir fry bar (assemble your bowl and the chef cooks it for you) My wife loves the stir fry bar and the crab legs. I love the sushi bar. We both love the hot items. We also take our daughter, as the buffet style restraunt is very children friendly. Service at the table is great, as the waitresses will clear away used plates regularly as well as offer refills on drinks. I had an odd request for iced green tea, but since they only had hot, they were more than happy to give me a refillable cup of ice to cool the tea. Definitely appreciated. I've been meaning to give them a review, but haven't had time, so I'm adding a review for them now. If you're ever in the Cape Coral neighborhood and want some asian style buffet, give Asia Buffet a try. The last few times I ate here, for dinner, it's $10.95 a person. Which, unfortunately, bumps them up to $$ on the price range. Very affordable. They have a very wide selection of beers, saki, etc. However, as I don't usually partake, I'll leave that for another reviewer to comment on. What I tend to not like: - some of the hot serve food can be oily - the oysters in the oyster bar tend to have the look of having seen better days - they had green tea ice cream, but have replaced it, probably due to low demand... guess it is an acquired taste. ^_^;;

I am not a big fan of buffets but they appear to be everywhere in the Cape Coral, FL area. This place was a great value for the money. The sushi was fair and the food was good, but there was a lot of it and the service was great. There are not many places I can take my young children where we both like the food. And I was smiling wide when I got the bill!

After a lovely experience at empire buffet last week, I decided to go further down the road to Asia buffet which had higher reviews on the Internet. As I walked in I realized I was in a converted Ihop and that the food was tucked away in the back... As I went to get my food, I read a disturbing sign above the buffet it read something about FOOD THAT YOU DON'T EAT WILL BE WEIGHED AT $6.99 per pound and you will BE CHARGED FOR WHAT YOU DON'T EAT!!!!! Whaaaaat on earth??? Who are you? My mom??? When I asked about the sign the waiter said is so that people don't waste food... Ok I get it... It makes sense to not wanna waste food BUT wouldn't it be better to let me take my leftovers home then? Anywho, back to the review, the food was mediocre at best, it certainly was not as varied as empire was. There was a long wait for crab legs, which they put out cold and into a pan of steaming water but on a saturday night the crabs go too quickly to get a chance to heat up in the water, not to mention that the place was crowded and they only put out 5-6 crab claws at a time! The dessert bar was sad. It was mostly cookies meh... The one thing I did enjoy was the hibachi they grilled for me. We were a party of 8 and the three of us that had the yummy hibachi also got diarrhea and cramps the next night... Coincidence? I'm not sure- it could have been anything we ate or anywhere but; we did get sick... WOULD NOT RECOMMEND

what a terrible place ....ruined our mothers day surprize..they took our reservation...and when we get there 10 min earley... they said they didnt hold our tables and it would be a 30 to 40 min wait .. why do you take reservation.....dont know how to run a business.....so we went up the street to Hibachi Grill Buffet in coralwood mall only a 10 min wait and the food was great and only cost 9.49 with crab legs......

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.
Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.
There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
