My husband and I had lunch here with two friends last week. None of us are from Brooksville, so we found this little pub on yelp. When you walk in, you'll see a small seating area in the front, the bar on the right, and more seating on the left. It's pretty dim inside and has a lot of cool memorabilia on the walls and ceiling. I ordered the Red Mule sub, which had ham, roast beef, turkey, salami, bologna, provolone cheese, lettuce, tomato, and Italian dressing on white bread. It also came with a bag of Lays potato chips. The sub was pretty good! I was hungry, but I could only finish half of it because they piled the meat on so high! The service was friendly and attentive. Our waitress and the guy behind the bar were helpful and even offered lots of info about the memorabilia when we had random non-food-related questions. They were good sports! I enjoyed the experience and I would probably come back for lunch again if I lived in the area.

Great sandwiches and atmosphere. A little on the pricy side though. Tucked away on the side of a strip mall. Nice quiet place for good conversation. They do charge extra for extras on the sandwich fyi .

I love coming here. I can always expect a great sandwich every time. My favorite is the Red Mule combo made into a Reuben. Perfectly melted cheese over super thin corned beef and pastrami stacked high on fresh bread. The Red Mule is the perfect pub atmosphere with pictures, antiques and artifacts covering the walls. Friendly staff, good music and quick service. We try to come here at least every couple of months even though we don't live anywhere near the Brooksville area.

I guess I had different expectations, and feel like I payed a little bit too much. Sandwiches are microwaved instead of heated on a stove and $9 for that seems a bit high. It was decent enough, but overall I feel like I was misguided. The liverwurst was very good, and worth the trip, however there isn't anything that would send me running back. The young lady server was a bit terse with us and I didn't feel welcome at first. The crazy guy talking to himself in the corner really sealed the deal though. Go here for cheap beer and moon pies.

This place is a Brooksville landmark! If you are around you have got to check it out. The staff is always friendly and who doesn't love a good sandwich? My favorite is liverwurst, not everyone's cup of tea but oh well. You can't go wrong with a Reuben either. Besides the food, the decor in this place gives you a blast from the past. You can tell the owners have put a lot of time into making it is what it is. Check it out, won't be disappointed!

Red Mule Runners meeting place, 2nd Wed of every month, 7pm. Ice cold beer and delicious pastrami and corned beef sandwiches.

Cozy little hole in the wall! The food is served fresh and fast. They have the best Ruben I have ever had, no doubt!! (it melts in your mouth) the prices are high and the service is dull... you will not get a smile. with that telling you that I keep going back for awesome food!!

Another great reuben, & cold Amber Bock on tap! Have never had a sandwich here that wasn't great!

Cool lay back vibe and atmosphere. Great to grab lunch rather going to the hundred of fast food dumps that surround. They have a great rueben sandwich. The cost isn't bad for the quality they put into the sandwiches.

Coolness factor off the charts and a good Pastrami to boot. This place looks like a prop-master from 1980's television took all his props and hung them on the wall. A mixture of 60's, 70's and 80's Brooksville memorabilia adorns the shadow box tables. Really good sammy and it is always great when you see a regular guy working hard in his shop for the customer. I would definilty recommend this place!

Who needs all these artisan sanwiches? This place serves up comfort food in the form of a giant overstuffed sandwich. They're great, reasonably priced, and fast. They're also one of the few pubs around here to have strongbow. The red mule combo is delicious. Corned beef, pastrami, sour kraut, Swiss cheese, and special sauce. Choice of white, wheat, rye, or pumpernickle bread. Be wary of ordering a soup or sides, because you probably won't have room for it all. Great lunch spot, fills up quick, but the turnover time on tables is good. Must eat if you like sandwiches and are in the area.

Great sandwichs... Atmosphere good, too. Lunch time is packed.

Great little hole in the wall kinda place that I had unfortunately overlooked for quite a while. Ended up getting a sandwich back on Labor day weekend and it was very good. They are one of the only places I've seen here in Florida that offer Vienna Beef products. The prices are a little high but it's great quality meat so basically you get what you pay for. My only complaint was I didn't care for their sub roll which seemed like a normal packaged sub roll you would grab at the grocery store. Next time I'll get either Rye bread or something else.

One of my favorite sandwich places. For the same price as a burger joint you can get a fresh, high quality sandwich your way on rye or even pumpernickel. I love them all, but today was a beef and cheddar. Liverwurst is also good, as is kielbasa. The Red Mule is a long time staple of Brooksville. For a taste of the old time in a casual, friendly setting you can't do better.

We have been been here a few times over the past years. The atmosphere is neat, as they get an A+ for atmosphere. The sandwiches are tasty, no doubt! However, we really feel like sandwiches are overpriced. For the price of sandwich the customer should automatically be given the choice to add lettuce, tomato, onions, but if you want any of that they charge you an extra price! What's up with that? Isn't it just the right thing to do as to add lettuce and such to a sandwich w/o charging more? Also, I can't help the fact that I am an "observer." I noticed the younger guy behind the counter making/preparing the food didn't use the best cleanliest habits. Watched him several times checking/scrolling through his phone, rub his ear, rub his face and continue to make sandwiches w/o washing his hands or wearing any type of gloves. I am sorry, but that is not exceptionable! I know Red Mule is a staple place in town, but I think we will think twice before heading in there again.

Maybe I'm biased being from Brooksville, but this is definitely one of my favorite lunch destinations. Sandwiches are piled high with meat. Even after I say that, you will be surprised at how tall your sandwich is. My favorites are the "Beef and Bird" and their signature "Red Mule Reuben". The experience is made even better by the eclectic collection of Brooksville related decorations.

Great lunch stop. Not much else on the menu other than sub sandwiches, but that is all you need for lunch. The turkey sandwich was great.

If I lived closer, I would go to the Red Mule sub all the time. It has a really cute atomism here with memorabilia all over the walls and the food was great. I had the Ruben and it was delicious! Next time that I'm in the area, I definitely want to try more of what they offer. The place is very unexpected and worth a visit.
