Stopped again today for a late lunch on my way back from Orlando. Only about 20 percent of the tables were full at 2 pm. Very quick ordering, and while I was just catching a seat after mixing Lime, Raspberry, and Vanilla Diet Cokes together (not a combination I would repeat nor recommend - points to the complexity, as Alton Brown rightly described, of creating correctly what is essentially a four-note drink), my food was served. It must have been three minutes or less. I got Kung Pao Beef on brown rice, and Wonton Soup. The soup was flavored with ginger, and sprinkled with scallions, both tastes to which I am quite partial. The wontons themselves were correctly cooked and meaty-tasty. The only things that I could think to improve it would be some Baby Bok Choy, and some more "toastyness" , to make it taste less "new" and more homey / confort-food-like. My Beef was sensational (and I avoided some of the added sensations by preemptively seeing aside the Chilis!). Colorfull, flavorful, appropriately sauced, with a textural mix of crunch, chew, and soft. The green beans couldn't be better, the onions were sweet, crunchy, and toasted with wok-char, and the beef and the peanuts together added a rewarding sense of savory substance to the dish. The carrots added color, but, as discs, they were different from the other items to pick up to my mouth, and they didn't add anything but visual interest to the dish - they would go better cut as large Julienne elements rather than as orange carrot-coins. Fresh, tasty, fast, and filling. Fantastic! David

Nice bright, clean and organized place. Fast service and fresh food. This place is a good attempt at Pei Wei, but not quite. I had their version of the General Tso chicken and it was good, but overly spicy. Not the good spicy that I usually love, but an overwhelming amount that made the dish not that enjoyable. I'll try it again but ll make sure to tell them to tone it down some. Nice decor too. Looking forward to my next visit.

We had a great experience here. The first thing we noticed was how clean this place was! That's a big bonus for us. We were shown how to order. Steak with special sauce/brown rice, chicken with special sauce and egg noodles. We both got pot stickers. One steamed, one fried. We went over to the really cool "customize your own drink" station, got our drinks, picked out our sauces and sat down. Since everything is open, we watched our food being made. The waitress that delivered was very pleasant. The food was amazingly good! Both the fried and the steamed pot stickers rocked. We were surprised to read about those that claim the flavor wasn't up to par because ours was spot on. There's also a little station where you may add additional sauces. The manager Dan came over and asked us how we liked it and spoke with us a few moments on the freshness. We will most definitely be back.

I downloaded this app just to give a review about how much this place sucks. This place was absolutely disgusting. I got 4 pieces of pork for my $10.00 stir fry. The noodles were mush and almost threw up in my mouth. In my other order I got like a spoonful of rice but at least they give me 5 pieces if chicken instead if 4. So I got 9 pieces of meat a spoonful of rice and mushy noodles for over $25.00. I will never come back here again and hope to discourage anyone who reads this. Hoho Chinese good is in the same shopping and is 159% than this crap.

The food was pretty good. I had the spicy Szechuan sauce with chicken and egg noodles. The spring rolls were good too. It wasn't super busy and the owner came by to ask if everything was okay. The complimentary tea was a nice touch! Cute atmosphere too, nice new place. Would recommend

For the money I really enjoyed it. Quick, fast, fresh, healthy food. No table service, so you can save a few dollars on gratuity. Plus the restaurant is clean. I added double meat and brown rice to my bowl. I also picked the extra spicy option and it was hot! Be sure to check it out if you are in the area.

My family and I used to be regulars at Wok Chi. We ate there at least once a week, and until the evening 07/23/2014 we'd never had a bad experience. To be fair, the food here is quite good. It's the inflexible, rude, and unaccommodating management staff that caused us to remove this place from our list of frequently visited restaurants. I had my wisdom teeth removed on July 24th, and I decided the night before that i wanted the last solid-based meal that I'd be able to eat for several days to be Wok Chi. My six-year-old son doesn't like Chinese food, so I took him across the street to get a burrito to go, while my wife ordered dinner at Wok Chi for herself, my daughter, and me. This is something we do every time we dine here, and it's never been a problem in the past. I walked back over to Wok Chi with my son and proceeded to find a table while my wife stood in line to order our food. Before we had a chance to sit down, the manager very rudely said to us, "You can't eat that in here!" I explained, "Oh, my wife is in line ordering food for me and the rest of the family. My son doesn't like Chinese food, so we brought this over for him. The rest of us are eating here." Still, the manager insisted that we couldn't bring the food in with us, and it was at that point that I decided that we would take our business elsewhere. I told the manager that if she wouldn't waver from this policy that I had just been informed of, then we would just cancel our order and go someplace else. My wife was given a refund, and we went across the street to one of the many other "fast casual" places that are Wok Chi's direct competitors. I get it: rules are rules. I also understand that this policy was probably handed down from someone higher up than this manager. However, the rudeness with which the policy was explained to us, coupled with the fact that the manager made no effort to let it slide "just this once" (since apparently it's a brand new policy) were enough to keep me from ever going back, let alone recommend it to anyone else. Perhaps Wok Chi is going for a truly authentic Chinese vibe. One that combines the dictatorial charm of Mao with the ruthlessness of Sun Tzu. If that is what you are going for, mission accomplished!

This is the second time we have been here. The first time was good. We always order the Kung pao chicken. Today my food taste different. Has a weird favor and taste like is bunt. I asked to speak to the chef and he telling me that they put in ginger in the sauce, then I say it wasn't in their last time and it that'd burn like it was burn. He say sorry and that was it. Did not offer to make me anything. So disappointed. I won't be back.

Awesome fresh food! Reasonably priced and cooked to order. Been in town two weeks and have eaten here three times! Staff is friendly and courteous. Certainly should be on your restaurant go to list.

Pros: good, fresh Stir-fry that isn't greasy or heavily sauce laden made fast; do it yourself menu for endless customization, and everything is made to order; great Dim Sum: the crab Rangoon, veggie spring roll, pork and chicken potstickers, and won ton soup are FANTASTIC, and for less than $3 each, you can make a nice snack or even a dinner; FREE hot green tea (and another hot tea available as well, also free); STRAWBERRY fortune cookies Cons: *if you are looking for a "sit down" eatery with an "oriental" restaurant feel, this is not it: it's not fast food, but it's not a date restaurant either; *since everything is cooked fresh, there is more wait to get your food than fast food, which isn't a problem, but it would be great if your soup and Dim Sum would be brought out as soon as they are ready, rather than waiting for everything to come out together. This would prevent the spring rolls and potstickers from getting cold, and the unfortunate problem that occurs when you have soup and an entree to eat and have to choose which to consume and which to let get cold! *The lighting is very bright, and the music is upbeat 90's and newer pop standards; for a place that has "good chi" as part of its entire concept, you would expect the atmosphere to be a bit more soothing. The same goes for the chairs: for a place where you have to wait for your order to be brought to you, it would be nice for the seating to be a little more comfortable. *The green tea is very, VERY strong, too the point of being bitter. This is the way some people like their green tea, but it my it tastes over steeped (or in this case where there is a large container, just too much tea and not enough water). My experience: I have eaten at Wok Chi twice in the past 2 days. I wanted potstickers last night and found them on Yelp very close to me. I entered, was greeted by a nice girl who happily and helpfully explained the menu, and I ordered pork and chicken potstickers, veggie spring rolls, crab Rangoon, and won ton soup. I found a bench seat at the long connected table, which was surprisingly comfortable for being a wooden stool. When I had come in, I had noticed the place was a little bright, very minimalist color palette, with standard older pop standards playing (though it was nice to hear Billy Idol singing "Dancing with Myself" and wondering how many of the people who hear it realize it's about masturbation), which didn't really add up with the whole "good chi" message throughout the restaurant. I grabbed a couple of bright pink fortune cookies and sampled one immediately. I LOVE a good fortune cookie; I would buy them in bulk without the fortunes if I could, so getting a fresh, crispy, delicately flavored one is a real treat that just can't be beat... or so I thought! When I bit of a piece of this bright, crispy, fresh cookie, I was proven wrong! Little did I know that adding strawberry would take my favorite cookie to a whole other level! I had to restrain myself from obsconding with the entire batch! I gathered my sauces from the sauce bar, trying the plum, sweet chili, hoisin, and regular soy sauce. The variety of sauces, and the fact that they provide ceramic containers rather than plastic or paper to put them in, is a classy and environmentally friendly step above traditional places. The fact that everything from the cups to the plates is washable and reusable, but they use disposable chop sticks, is a bit strange; why not invest in reusable chop sticks too? At least they use the really nice wooden ones that only separate at a little section at the top, so they are smooth and don't have splinters. While waiting for my food. I went to get a cup of tea, but it was empty. I alerted the girl at the front and she very quickly started a new pot, so when I finally got a cup, it was as fresh as it was ever going to be. I took a sip... and it was incredibly bitter! I get Jasmine green tea every time I find it in a restaurant, and in traditional sit down style restaurants, they bring a pot of hot water with a tea bag in it, which allows me to control the strength. It's never bitter when I do it this way! I know that a lot of people who know nothing about tea think that's how green tea is supposed to taste, and that's how they like it. I hate to complain about something that is free, but it is very disappointing to look forward to a nice shooting cup of Jasmine tea and instead get bitter hot liquid. My food arrived and everything looked great. The first thing I tried was the pork potsticker. The flavor was excellent; however, all if the potstickers were lukewarm, which definitely lowered the satisfaction of the experience. The Rangoon and spring rolls were hot and delicious; the sweet chili sauce was a perfect pairing for these! The soup was delicious, if a little salty, with the three large won tons that I had to cut in half (which required the use of a chop stick to hold them down while I cut with my spoon; not graceful, but effective
Wok Chi is pretty awesome! I hit them up every Wednesday for Wok Wednesday which let's you pick a chicken meal that comes with a drink and side. The food is great and the service is on point. I like the fact that they have complimentary hot green tea for all customers. This is a spot to check out if you're in the area.

This place reminds me of Pei Wei in South Tampa. I love this place!!! I had the kung pao chicken and it was tasty. I also had a spring roll and crab rengoon. I highly recommend it and I will definitely be back to try other menu items. 5 stars for sure!!

Its a quick americanized Asian food, kinda healthy if you don't add the sauces that are available but then again the food taste kinda bland.

Quick, healthyish and easy Chinese food! At the counter, you order in 4 easy steps - pick a protein, pick a sauce, pick 4 vegetables, and then pick a base. There's a big red sign by the register that reads "No tips, please. We get our Chi from your return trip. Thank you for giving us the 'good fortune' of serving you." That is good information. You get a tracker device after you order, which you can take to your table and someone will bring the food to you when it is ready. For the main dish, I went with tofu, General Not so Tsao sauce (I see what they did there), baby corn+brococoli+mushrooms+zucchini, and white rice - $7.45. Unfortunately, they were out of snow peas. The portion isn't big, but a great size for me. The food tasted fresh. I wasn't a fan of the sauce (General Not so Tsao was so Tsao, if you know what I mean), so I would try one of the other many choices next time. Add on won ton soup - $1.95. The soup was great! It's just broth and 3 pieces of won tons, but all delicious. Be careful opening the lid, though. I ordered my meal to-go and the soup came in a plastic container which leaked all kinds of hot fluid onto my lap when I tried to open it. Custard Chi-Bon $1.45 - This is a pretty cool dessert. It's like a fried donut filled with creamy Bavarian-like custard. It's definitely worth the calories. Bottled Stella - $3.45. They also offered Tsao beer and Smirnoff drink. The restaurant is brightly lit, clean and looks modern. At the self-serve counter, they offer additional sauces, hot green tea and pink strawberry fortune cookies. I never had a flavored fortune cookie before and it was pretty good.

Fast, fresh and casual. Wok Chi is like a Chinese Chipotle. You pick your protein (chicken, beef, pork, shrimp, tofu, veggies or more than one for an additional charge), then you pick a sauce (BBQ black bean, orange, sweet and sour, Kung Pao, General Tso, ginger sesame, spicy Szechuan, etc), then you get to pick 4 veggies (onions, green peppers, red peppers, broccoli, baby corn, carrots, snap peas, snow peas, etc), then white or brown rice (or fried rice for an additional charge, which I recommend) and they'll stir fry it and bring your bowl to your table in about 10 minutes. The prices are in the $7-10 range. I've tried a couple chicken bowls, one with ginger sesame and one with sweet and sour sauce, which I prefer because I like pineapples. The chicken is cooked well. I just wish they were more generous with the amount of chicken they give you. Maybe you'll get about 6-7 pieces. I also wish there was more sauce mixed in. However, they do have a station with additional sauces that you can add yourself, including a plum sauce. I also think the rice is kinda dry so more sauce would help with that. It's a pretty healthy meal they serve up. Not greasy whatsoever. Wok Chi prides itself in not using any MSG. The service has been friendly the two times I've been this week, although they did mix up my rice with a friend's rice. So they gave each of us an additional bowl of the rice we were supposed to get. Also, they have different specials on certain days (see my pictures). The decor is very cool and modern. There are booths, tables and one large communal table, as well as outdoor patio seating. Words of wisdom are printed on the walls and windows. They have the Coke Freestyle machine, hot and cold teas and bowls of strawberry fortune cookies. So take a few as you head out..although I keep getting the same fortune in my cookies: "The best way to predict the future is to invent it-Alan Kay" so maybe that's some kind of sign for me.

Food was ok. Same premise as Genghis Grill - pick a protein, sauce, veggie and they cook it up. Sauces lacked flavor from what I expected when they mark them with three fire signs and denote spicey. The hoisen sauce at the drink bar was a nice addition. The bbq pork bun was ok but not traditional dim sum so don't expect that. The custard bun was ok but had a strange aftertaste. The filling sort of reminded me of instant pudding. Probably wouldn't order that again. The free strawberry fortune cookies were probably the highlight for us. The employees need some customer service training. They did not make it a welcoming place. Friendly just want the vibe in there. They weren't rude or anything, but it wasn't inviting.

Well, I guess this place is trying to be the next Pei Wei. But in order for it to be the next Pei Wei, it has some major hurdles to overcome. 1. The portions. The portions are too small, too little meat for what you are paying. The entrees at Pei Wei are like a dollar more expensive but you get A LOT more food for the 9 bucks. The entrees at Wok Chi are 8 bucks. 2. The sauces are inconsistent. The sweet/sour sauce was tasteless, but the black bean sauce was good. Also I liked the taste of the chicken better than the pork. Other than these major hurdles, at least the food is fresh and cooked right in front of you, the veggies were not overcooked, the food was not overly greasy, and there's no MSG to worry about here. However, due to the small portions I likely would not return.

Good place to eat if you're by the amc theatre and want to eat something fresh. You start off any order by ordering a main meat, whether it is chicken, beef, or tofu, as far as i can remember (but there are more) and choose 4 different kinds of vegetables to mix in. They then mix in your choice of sauce to fry it in. I ordered the chicken and with string beans, broccoli, carrots, and zucchini with general tso and tasted really well. They cook it as soon as they get the order and someone brings it to your table. I like the idea of being able to get your own drinks from the fountain (the same ones you see at the AMC theaters) and be able to refill it. Overall our experience was great and will be back again to try other things on the menu.

Completely above and beyond my expectations! You have the option to choose your meat, sauce, what vegetables, and grain (base) you would like as part of your stir fry. I wasn't sure at first how good it would be because I've been to many Chinese restaurants that leave me feeling bloated and just crappy with the possible MSG that they don't tell you about, sodium, and fried goodness. This, however, was not like that AT ALL. I got chicken (that was non-breaded, FTW ), general not so tso sauce, my choice 4 vegetables: mushrooms, zucchini, carrots, and broccoli) and a base of brown rice (not fried). Holy moly this tasted like something fresh that I would make in my own kitchen! It wasn't greasy or fried and you could simply taste the freshness and know that you're not putting junk into your body. Also if you go on Wednesdays you get a free dim sum with your stir fry! The inside of the restaurant was nice and clean with modern interior decorating. The staff was super friendly and helpful with the ordering process as it was our first time there. This easily has been deemed my favorite fresh Asian cuisine place in the area thus far

Haven't even eaten the food yet but I've already paid and I've been waiting over 30 mins for my food along with about 4 other customers. Currently, a customer is telling other walk in customers to leave since we've been waiting so long. If I hadn't already paid I would leave. So much for the good reviews I read on this place.

Oh I'm going to love this place! Just tried it for the 1st time, ordered and paid online (around $10). You pick what goes in the wok, which I think is a great idea. Don't like water chestnuts? Don't pick 'em, it's as simple as that. For a little twist they also serve strawberry fortune cookies, yummy! I had the Kung Pao sauce, which was exactly how I like it - heat & sweet. Some places make Kung Pao weak, not these guys, I picked 4 giant peppers out. But the heat doesn't drown out the nice, complex, sweet flavor - PERFECT! I had chicken and veggies with fried rice, which is the "new" fried white rice with no other ingredients (which I like). I also got a crab rangoon, and it came to *just* over $10. **And the portions are just right for normal-sized people** I. WILL. BE. BACK.

If this woman runs her restaurant anything like she treats her tennants, then run away! She doesn't care about anything but the $$, quality and comfort for people are at the bottom of the priority list...you should all spit in her food and give it back!!

Outstanding! This place is great! Since I've been in the Brandon area I have only found one place that has pretty good Chinese food, but it's nothing special. This place however is a great new twist on traditional Chinese food. On their take out bag it says "fresh casual chinese" and that's is exactly what it is. When you go in your your greater by a big open dining space that is white with red and black accents. When you go to order you choose your protein (chicken, pork, beef etc...). Next you choose your sauce (ginger sesame, sweet and sour etc...). After that you choose from a big array of vegetable. Lastly you choose your base ( white or brown rice, fried rice, egg noodles etc...). After that you can add a dim sum or soup for a couple bucks or if you go in Wednesday you can get that for free with your meal. I chose chicken with General not-so-Tso's sauce with green peppers, snow peas, broccoli and onion with fried white rice. We had take out so i didn't look at it until I got home. When I did finally get a look I was pleasantly surprised. The meal was laid out very nicely not everything wasn't just thee on in a pile. The meal itself tasted so delirious. The freshness of the meal was so apparent. The portion size was also great. I ate the whole thing and was content, the best part is that I wasn't hungry 30 minutes after I am with regular Chinese food. I really can't wait to go back for more. I highly recommend this place if your looking for some good fresh Chinese food. And you can order online a head of time!

Refreshing, fresh, and delicious! Not your average Chinese food and super happy they put this in Brandon. I have been having issues trying to find a decent Chinese place in Brandon for some time. I have tried many and all have come up short. TILL NOW!!! The food was more than I expected. The freshness of the ingredients, the presentation, and flavors blew me away. It is hard to describe the flavor I got from my General Not So Tso's chicken. It tasted like it was cooked over a wood fire. The hint of smokey flavor in the sauce made this amazing!!! The vegetables were cooked and had a crispness to them. The portion was plentiful and I was stuffed when I left. The BBQ Pork Dao dim sum was good, but not the best one I have had. It lacked the BBQ flavor and tasted like a roll with meat in it. The sauce bar was an added bonus. Many sauces to choose from but I was disappointed with the Srirracha sauce. This sauces was very gritty which was a displeasing sensation. Almost like sand was combined in the sauce. Also they made the Srirracha sauce with to much vinegar, made it taste like a Louisiana hot sauce. It also tastes like it has a fish sauce in it, maybe a bit to much. The sweet chili sauce was my favorite hands down. Goes good on the rice and helped make the BBQ Pork Dao taste much better. The rice was nothing to write home about. It was well cooked white rice. They have one of those Coca-Cola soda machines that can make every soda combo you can think of. There is free tea in the back and they have placed around strawberry fortune cookies. they were interesting... Being able to customize your order is a super plus. I was able to pick the vegetables I wanted, the sauce and meat, and the Dim Sum.

First time here tonight, and we are very pleased with our dinner. We will definitely be back! Great service too. *I ordered the General No-So Tso chicken with white fried rice and spring rolls! Very tasty with just enough spice. The veggies tasted fresh and I loved the spring rolls.

The sticky buns were taken from the frozen food aisle of a grocery store and then microwaved. Worst part is the sticky buns weren't hot all the way through, the middle was cold. The tofu is very soggy and over cooked. Other than that the people are nice but the food is average at best. You're better off going to a generic China restaurant in some strip plaza.

I was wondering if brandon would ever get their own pei Wei but this will do. Everything made fresh . Plenty of options to choose: meats, veggies, sauce, and base. I order the BBQ black bean veggie stir fry with noodles. It was delicious! Veggies crisp. Sauce was good. Noodles On point. Best part no msg! Wouldn't mind coming back on a Wednesday to take advantage of their stir fry, dim sum, and drink deal

I decided to try this place after being referred here by fellow Yelper Katrina. Thanks Katrina....this place was AWESOME!! This is a new restaurant near the movie theaters in Brandon. Their place is clean and inviting from the moment you step in the door. We were promptly greeted when we walked in the door and the friendly staff continued to check in on us as we ate. The manager even came over at the end of our meal to ask about our experience. The food...so TASTY! For only around $8, I selected my flavor (Sweet & Sour, General Tso's, etc.), then my protein (Tofu, Beef, Chicken, etc.), and it comes w/ great veggies and either brown or white rice. They have a sauce bar to add a little extra flavor, but I honestly didn't need it. As an added perk, they have complimentary hot green tea and strawberry fortune cookies. They even offered me a to-go cup for some green tea to take home. I highly recommend this place if you're in the mood for this type of cuisine...you'll love it!

This new one-of-a-kind Chinese restaurant knows how to work a wok. Wok Chi has created a really tasty way to make Chinese food sear-iously delicious based on the dishes sampled during the restaurant's opening week. Guests order at a register from a selection of stir fry combinations, spring rolls, soups and more that are all tailored to satisfy any personal preference, dietary restrictions or appetites. Choose from white, brown or freshly fried rice (all hot dishes are cooked to order), create a stir fry featuring chow mein or whole wheat noodles, pick chicken, pork, shrimp, tofu or beef or dig into some dumpling-like dishes boasting chicken, pork or edamame. Lots of healthy options are available but it seems no matter what the combination of ingredients may be, each is a satisfying serving of crispy, crunchy veggies, non-chewy chicken and cooked-just-right rice and noodles (I did not try beef, pork or seafood dishes). There is a condiment bar which won me over immediately because I love a dollop of hot mustard or tear-duct -stimulating sriracha sauce. The contemporary, sleek interior and outdoor dining both feature mah-jongg-like tiles imbedded into the tables that help guide servers so they know where to go once the Wok Master has prepared and plated each dish. You order at the counter but servers whisk your dish right to your seat. Two dessert buns, one filled with peanut butter served with a side of jelly and one with custard, provide a sweet finish without being too heavy or rich. But save some room for a soothing cup of complimentary hot green tea or a pink-colored, strawberry-flavored fortune cookie.

I was very surprised with Wok Chi. The order taker went over the menu with us to make sure we understood the format. It was pretty self explanatory. You make your bowl and wait for it to be brought out. The portions were great for the price. The beef was seasoned perfectly and the vegetables were great. Brown and white rice are free, but there's an upcharge for fried. The restaurant was clean and the decor was nice. Looking forward to a trip back soon.

You can tell when you walk in that Wok Chi isn't the first restaurant concept launched by whoever owns the place. It's well-designed, and the tables have NFC tags to tell the staff where you're sitting. (Outdoor seating, since the tables are metal, has an NFC mat at each table for you to put your token on.) I'm pretty sure the Chinese proverbs don't correspond precisely to the English proverbs next to them, since the same English proverb can be found juxtaposed with either of two Chinese texts. But that's for linguists and people who speak Chinese to worry about. Mostly what you want to know from me is: is it tasty? HELL YES IT IS TASTY. So why not five stars? Well, the chairs were laid out in a decorative but frustrating pattern on my first visit. Anyone using a wheelchair would have to plow the chairs out of her way to reach a table. And since your food is brought to you, it would be reasonable to expect that sauces and utensils would be available at your table too. Sadly, those you have to hike for--which wouldn't even be an issue if this were strictly fast casual. It's the tableside delivery that raises my expectations for convenience. I'm tough, I know. But don't let that stop you. Wok Chi is worth a try.

I'm always looking for good not fried "fast food" and I may have found my ideal place. You chose a protein, 4 veggies, a sauce and a base (some have extra cost). I had brown rice, chicken, veggies with black bean sauce. The food was simple but it had flavor and it's prepared in the kitchen not a buffet style place where everyone picks through everything. I will say the portions are not big so if you are used to that you may be disappointed. Also you can ask them to go "light" on the sauce. If ordering take out... Call ahead. You will be grateful you did when you see the line inside!

I really do not like to write bad reviews - however, my husband and I were very unimpressed with this restaurant. Last week I had a pregnancy craving for chinese food and I have to be careful of MSG products and I remembered Wok Chi. Since we literally live 2 minutes away I thought that it would be a good and quick pick. We ordered take out - he ordered the beef and shrimp bowl and I ordered the shrimp bowl with the not so general tso's sauce. We also added on crab rangoons to both of our meals which according the website you get two of those. Whenever my husband arrived home, we noticed that our order was wrong. He only recieved beef in his bowl although we paid for beef and shrimp and each of us only recieved one crab rangoon each. Ok - not a big deal, we decided to blow that off and continue with our meal. Onto the food - I have to say that this has probably been the worse chinese take out I have ever had. My meal was completely not what I had expected. It had very little sauce and the sauce that was on it was so spicy that my mouth was on fire and I could barely finish it. This was not the description of the sauce when I asked the little girl on the phone (who was very unhelpful by the way.) My husband said that his was absolutely gross and had very little to no sauce whatsoever and we ended up throwing more than half of our food in the garbage. Also, after tasting the crab rangoons I wasn't even upset that we only recieved one because they were the worst rangoons I have ever had. There was basically zero crab filling and they were so oily tasting that they were just unedible. All in all, we will not be back. We spent 25.00 dollars here which could have been spent elsewhere for a far better meal.

I'd say you can put me down as a regular as you will find me here at lunch on most Wok Chi Wednesdays ($7.65 for Chicken Stir Fry, a small dim sum and a drink). The food is fresh, freshly prepared and you can really mix it up with the different sauces, veggies and starch. I've tried a few of the dim sum items but have to say the Pork Pot Stickers are the best. They have 4 or 5 condiment sauces and the sweet chili sauce is great with the pot stickers. As I've seen with other reviews, you should know this isn't your typical Chinese takeout food, although the takeout here is good too. It's more on the lighter side of wok cooking. The red fortune cookies are yummy too. I can't decide if they're cherry or strawberry but I usually grab 3 on my way out. There's complimentary all you can drink hot tea too. Be sure and sign up for a Wok Chi card. Points seem add up fast and you get pretty nice discounts.

The service was fast and friendly. Food was really good. The portions were a good size, not huge and everything tasted fresh. There wasn't a large crowd and they brought the food to our table. Not sure if that's the norm, but I liked it.

First time and likely last time patron. To the point: Ordered at 12:43PM for a to-go order. Didn't get my food until precisely 22 minutes later. No apologies, nothing. The cashier I spoke to prior to the food coming out almost apologized, but didn't quite get there. She said it was Wednesday, which is their special day, and lots of orders were before mine. So, I waited extra long for what amounts to barely-better-than-normal Chinese food. The spring roll was great; I'll give them that. The rest was just okay. I don't have a long lunch break, so I'm not a fan of their turnaround time. I'll stick to the Chinese restos I am used to; the ones who can bust out an order in roughly 10 minutes.

Hubby and I chekced out this new restaurant on our way into a movie theatre for lunch! We were pleasantly surprised at the entire ambiance when we walked in. The meals were super easy to select - you pick the type of Wok stir fry you want (General Tsaos or Ginger Sesame for example) then the meat, then any sides or dessert - and you're ready to go. The food is brought out to you! My Ginger Sesame chicken was awesome with a good portion of broccoli. You can choose from brown or white rice. There's also complimentary green tea & Strawberry fortune cookies to boot! The decor is very crisp and clean and the servers were super friendly. We'll definitely be back!

I loved everything about this place. It just opened in May. This was my first visit. The restaurant is nice and bright. Everyone was very friendly. They have hot green tea bar complimentary for anyone who dines there. I did not partake because I had my son with me. He was being a bit of a monster. The food was delicious. They pride themselves on all fresh ingredients. They use no preservatives and no MSG. It is fresh feel good Chinese food. They also just started a Lil' Chi menu for the kids. The citrus sauce is very good. They use Florida fresh orange juice in the sauce. I had the spicy schezuan. It had just the right amount of bite to it. All the veggies were nice and crisp. The have an open kitchen so you can watch the chefs prepare your meal. Everything is done front and center. I love that. You can watch exactly what's going into your food. I also met the GM and the executive Chef. Everyone was very welcoming and great. I cannot wait to go back.

Awesome! Fresh! And Super Quick. Talk about a rival to Pei Wei. Not only are these dishes healthier, they are prepared with no MSG. Whole wheat noodles and citrus chicken. Consistently wonderful! I have gone twice already and keep telling all of my friends. Think about it like this, kind of like a Chipotle, but Fresher.

Really enjoyed our build-it-yourself stir fry, the service and the atmosphere. Nice to have a healthy alternative to pizza and fast food. Christian, the order taker was friendly and helpful. We were greeted and thanked by a supervisor who brought the food to our table. Nice assortment of soft drinks and beer.

Thank you Wok Chi for making truly healthy asian food available in a nice & convenient setting! I am a Dietitian and I am always searching for great tasting, healthy food. I went to check out Wok Chi with a few other foodies and we tried an array of options. My entree was a huge hit- I got all vegetables over brown rice with an amazing medium spiced black bean sauce. There were so many fresh veggies on there! We tried the wonton soup- one of the best I've ever had. My friend's favorite thing was the edemame potsticker. The "Not-So General Tsao" chicken was amazing and the kung pao sauce was also very tasty. They use no MSG, no preservatives, vegetarian options and they offer brown rice and whole wheat noodles. Thumbs up, Wok Chi!

Dined here today with a colleague. It was okay, but not somewhere I would go all of the time. The ingredients were fresh and the food was tasty, but the up-charges were a little unreasonable- the selection of vegetables was limited, and you had to pay extra for broccoli and zucchini. The fried rice was plain and did not contain eggs or veggies like typical fried rice does. Also the dessert bun was just a glorified jelly donut. But overall, it was good, but not great.

I've only been there once and it was within first days of opening. I had been following them on social media and was anticipating their Grand Opening. I ordered the Stir Fried Noodles dish which I loved. Very tasty and nice size portion. Large enough for me to take some home and must say I liked even better served cold. I also sampled each of my friends dishes. General Not-so-Tso's Chicken & Spicy Szechwan. Both of which I would recommend. Although I agree with some of the others and believe it could have used more flavoring. But I do tend to like my food more on the spicy side and have a fond affection for bold flavors. I also had a sweet custard filled bun, Chi Bon, that I could have had multiple of. I like that everything is fresh and I dont have to worry about MSG sneaking its way into my food. The restaurant was very clean and staff courteous and attentive. Feels like a fast food atmosphere but with sit-down dinner prices. That being said I will definitely go back and try it again.

WOK CHI is such a welcome addition to our area. Our table had the tofu stirfry , garlic chicken, some dim sum, and we all shared a bite of the chi-bons for dessert. What is great about this place is the freshness of the food. It redefines Chinese and makes it something healthy and not an American Chinese buffet full of fried, MSG, and hormone filled food. It was great to find out, they use hormone free-chicken. I wish I could remember his name but a super friendly cashier (with a beard) greeted us with a huge smile, jokes, manners, and suggestions. This place is super clean and perfect for dinner with family and friends. The prices were really great for what you get. Our portions were also very generous. Oh, and they give everyone a delicious green tea! I will definitely go back, bring friends/family to share the experience. This place redefines American Chinese food (thankfully). If you are expecting an Americanized fat-filled smorgasbord this is not your "cup of tea" (pun intended). My only wish is for them to open one closer to my house in South Tampa!!!!

Went here the other day and really enjoyed it. My favorite dish is the ginger broccoli - full of flavor and tastes fresh. They recently added a children's menu and my little girl was a huge fan of the noodles. Friendly staff, reasonably priced and fresh food - I will definitely go back.

Saw this place going in and, since the closest Pei Wei is off Dale Mabry, we decided to give it a chance. This place rocks! Don't go in expecting Pei Wei, the flavors are different and that's good! Love the siracha pumps and chili sauce as well. To top it all off, strawberry fortune cookies, yupp, you read that right. Freestyle Coke machines too, I hope this place sticks around since the other place isn't talking advantage of the Brandon market.

My girl and I have been eating at Woc Chi since it opened. We both love Chinese food, and even when it first opened we found the food to be good although as anywhere newly opened we experienced service that was a little rough around the edges. That is certainly not the case now. Last night we dined there again and found the changes that have been made since our last visit incredibly positive! The food came out almost before we got our drinks and sauces, it was so hot and fresh - more delicious than ever before in good sized portions. Our waitress was attentive and sweet. The manager came over to speak to us to make sure everything was all right and he was pleasant and sincere. Obviously he's doing things correctly because of the fine improvements since we first began dining there. We both just wanted to share and let you know it was just a thoroughly wonderful dining experience with great food and great casual atmosphere. We would recommend that everybody who enjoys Chinese food to go enjoy wonderful food in a really cool environment that just keeps getting better or to just order takeout and go home and relax.

Ambiance is casual. Food is delish! You order from the main counter so your food in exactly how you like it. They deliver to your table and handle the clean up. There are free strawberry flavored fortune cookies and free hot tea. I love being able to run my errands and have a healthy eating option in Brandon as there are very few in the area. Proteins are dusted with flour before cooking but you can request that your dish not be prepared that way for dietary restrictions. Vegan and vegetarian friendly.

My family ate here before a movie and it was generally okay. My daughter did not like her general tso's chicken, and the fried rice was full of peas. I enjoyed the Kung pao chicken, but my wife thought it was only okay. Still haven't found great Chinese in the area. I would go back without my daughter. Other reviews seem a bit inflated.

I was recently in Brandon for a business trip and decided to try wok chi for dinner after watching a movie. Have to say what an amazing dining experience!! Since the moment you walk in, you know this place is something different, yet somehow feels like the real deal. It's just something you have to experience by eating here. Their menu boasts fresh ingredients, and you really do see it...quite literally. They have an open kitchen concept where you can see exactly how your food is being prepared. The staff were also extremely professional, friendly and well informed, and the menu didn't make you feel as though you were cracking a code. It is a straight forward menu where you choose a stir fry, your protein and then steamed white or brown rice. Their dim sums are definitely something you have to try as well (the pork potstickers were my personal favourite). So, friendly, well informed staff and great tasting healthy food...can it get better?? Yup....to top it off they have a complimentary green tea section, a sriracha dispenser, strawberry fortune cookies*(drool) and a freestyle coke machine!!!!!! If you are in the area I highly recommend this place, it's a new restaurant and I hope to see it around for years to come.

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.
Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.
There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.

Tried this place yesterday because we were in the area. My wife had the Noodle dish with Chicken and wasn't overly impressed. She said it didn't have a lot of flavor. I had the General (no so Tso's) Chicken and the flavors were wonderful and it had just the right balance of heat to sweet. I really enjoyed my meal. We also tried the Pork and BBQ Dim Sum (free with entrée right now) and I was very un-impressed with the plain pork one but the BBQ Pork was FANTASTIC! We called in our order and found out when we got there that they didn't put it into the system. We had to wait about 10 minutes for them to ring up and complete our order and they didn't even give us a discount for the wait. Long story short - this one isn't at the TOP of my list (and if I'm over that way, I'd much prefer Kobe's) but it was decent, fairly priced and quick so we may try them again.

(5)Harriet M.
Good, crisp, fresh, under$12.00. A bit noisy. One might find the sauces hotter than expected!

This is the best freaking place! I come here all the way from usf to eat this delicious food! GET THE WHOLE WHEAT NOODLES! They don't taste whole wheat and are the best thing here! Love this place!
(5)Jenny S.
Its a quick americanized Asian food, kinda healthy if you don't add the sauces that are available but then again the food taste kinda bland.
(3)Misty S.

(4)Erin E.

(1)Kerry T.
Absolutely love eating here! The food is always served hot and the ingredients are fresh. Fun to find new favorite combinations of proteins, sauces and veggies. Tofu with Kung Pao is an excellent combo.
(5)Kelli S.
I absolutely love their fresh and tasty food. They have one of those fancy coca cola drink machines too. Plus I love baby corn and its on the menu! Super friendly staff that is courteous and really does a great job making sure you feel welcome and are taken care of :)

Soup was cold , they did replace it . I gave it a 4 star on the last visit , the first sip of cold soup knocked it down a star. Meal for 2 just over $17.00 .

(5)Alex B.
Amazing healthy delicious food, friendly and cheerful staff and quick service. All around a really enjoyable experience. We will most definitely be coming here again! Thanks guys for such a great experience!
(5)Marcos R.
(2)Katie R.
People are nice but Food was terrible. Tasted like a microwave dinner. Rice was hard. Sticky buns were cold. Won't be coming back.
(1)Candace A.

(4)Jonathas S.
They have a really good food for a good price. The place is very clean as well.
(4)Martic R.

(4)Tony V.
The service was fast and friendly. Food was really good. The portions were a good size, not huge and everything tasted fresh. There wasn't a large crowd and they brought the food to our table. Not sure if that's the norm, but I liked it.
(5)Stephen V.

(5)Crystal G.
(3)LuTina B.

(5)Shannon Hitchcock B.
Went here the other day and really enjoyed it. My favorite dish is the ginger broccoli - full of flavor and tastes fresh. They recently added a children's menu and my little girl was a huge fan of the noodles. Friendly staff, reasonably priced and fresh food - I will definitely go back.
(4)Jeff J.
(4)Randel W.
(5)Danielle G.
(4)Bob B.
My family ate here before a movie and it was generally okay. My daughter did not like her general tso's chicken, and the fried rice was full of peas. I enjoyed the Kung pao chicken, but my wife thought it was only okay. Still haven't found great Chinese in the area. I would go back without my daughter. Other reviews seem a bit inflated.

all natural meat great great great service and tasty food... good healthy version of chinese food...

I am not impressed. Had the wheat noodle stir fry. Not sure if I'll return
