If you want good, cheap, quick cuban food, this is the spot. Not the best, but really good for a little hole in the wall! The neon sign is tight and the staff is friendly. Could use a good clean up though...

I've had cubans all over Brandon, but decided to Yelp for a new place to grab takeout after stopping for gas near their shop. I didn't even realize La Cubanita existed in Oak Park Plaza because it is well hidden near the end of the strip mall. Wow - what a find! My cuban sandwich was so packed with meat that it had to weigh 2lbs on its own. The pulled pork they use on the cubans keeps the sandwich super moist after pressing and ties every ingredient together perfectly. It was so good that I was already half-way through it before I remembered to yelp a photo. I also brought home a pork dinner to my mom - my attempt to get her out of "meat and potatoes" mode by expanding her pallet. Her takeout box was so packed and heavy, that the handles on the plastic bag stretched to snapping point. My mother is super picky about pulled pork from restaurants but she couldn't stop raving about La Cubanita's stating: "This is the best pork I have ever had; You'll be going back." After mom foo-fooed the vegetables I picked out (hey, I tried), I ended up (got rewarded) with getting to eat them. Yay! Their yuca is awesome - juicy, not dry like a lot of places. The black beans/yellow rice is flavored perfectly. Best I've had in a while. Everything was perfectly cooked and seasoned in balance. Prices are excellent for the quality and taste alone- especially when compared to other places in the area serving the same menu items. Can't beat the price for the portions - multiple meals from one box. I know I'll be going back - I've already been informed. A must-go/try. AAA+++

Best Cubans in brandon. Worth it to go out of your way to go here than any where else. Hidden jem by the gym. Haven't tried anything else.

We were next door at The blood place and needed to have lunch after giving blood so we asked the guy there about this place and he said it was ok. We decided to try it anyway, I'm glad we did! It was much better than OK, it was actually really good authentic food. The place is really light on atmosphere but besides that it's a great place to eat if you're in the area.

Great empanadas de pollo! And their Cuban sandwiches are unbeatable! The staff is so efficient and friendly. Our party of 7 walked in and basically cleaned them out of croquetas- which ended up causing our final member's order to be 1 croqueta short (3 croquetas instead of 4). In the middle of our meal a staff member walked over and gave us a plate of 4 piping hot croquetas on the house as an apology/thank you for our patience. I highly recommend this place. I will definitely be back!

It's ok. Just ok. It's not 5-Star glaring like many people are writing it to be. I'm sorry. I wanted to like it. The devil crab had literally no crab in it. The cubans are premade in and kept in a fridge.. they also didn't put any pickles on mine. The pork was okay. It's a nice spot to change it up, but come man! It's Tampa! Better places all around.

La Cubanita is by far the best Cuban restaurant in Tampa. The penin (pulled pork) is to die for! And you have not had a Cuban sandwich until you have one from here with all the fixings. My favorite sandwich is called La Media Noche! It means "the middle of the night." You know that craving you have when your tummy rumbles in the middle of the night? This sandwich satisfies that and more! Its perfect, the bread is softer than Cuban bread. Sweet bread, I think its called. Order it once and you will never stop craving it in "La Media Noche"!!

Food is amazing. We used to come here for food over 10 years ago when this place was owned by two brothers. Well the food is just as good. I am so happy we came back here.

White rice and black beans with the lechon "roasted pork" is full of flavor and clearly the best dish. This also comes with one side, the sweet plantain or the yuca were both tasty. The prices are amazingly reasonable since the three of us ate with less than $30 which included the three meals, 2 bottled waters and one Sprite. Leftovers for lunch too. Place is clean and simple tables makes it a nice spot to grab a Cuban meal.

Every time my family is in town we have to eat Cuban sandwiches. We didn't go to our normal spot and to our surprise this place was dynamite! We ordered Cuban sandwiches, deviled crabs and plantains. Everything was spot on and delicious. The prices are decent, which is another plus. The best Cuban sandwich I've had to date. Great customer service and the Coco Rico drink is my new fave. Will definitely visit this spot in the future!

You can't go wrong with maduros and pernil.

I was looking for a new Cuban restaurant to cater in for work as my credit card information recently got stolen at another Brandon Cuban restaurant. I had never had La Cubanita but some co-workers recommended it so I figured I would give it a shot. YUM! The food was great! We got a huge platter of Ropa Fieja, Black beans and Yellow rice, and Plantains. It all comes with a large serving of Cuban bread. I placed the order the day before and it was ready when I got there. All of that food for 10 people and it was only $80. I will be back!

Amazing friendly service and the food is just so good! The pork is so flavorful and the Cubans have the perfect balance of all ingredients. Must try!!

Excellent little hole in the wall place! Baked chicken, rice and plantains are delicious. Husband and roommate had the Cuban and media noche and they said they will be frequenting the place often!

Friendly. Good portions for cost. Get the pork dinner or a Cuban sandwich. All the rice are great and the plantains are amazing. Ham croquettes are delicious.
(5)Shelly S.
My parents come here for Cuban coffee and toast, and I just picked up a Cuban sandwich, because they make a great one. Their ham croquettes (that you can to your Cuban) are tasty as well. Being open at 7am makes them very convenient too.

Love this place! I always get the dinner which includes one meat, 2 sides & fresh bread. The roast pork is incredible as are the plantains and yellow rice. They sometimes have coupons as well.

I've only been here for lunch twice, but the Cuban and Media Noche sandwiches are so good, I thought I'd tell the world. I get the Cuban all-the-way, and it is delicious! If you like cuban sandwiches, and have never tried a Medianoche, you should try one from here. Basically, it's a cuban with difference bread (soft egg dough bread to be exact). The dining area is rough. It could use a good sterilizing, which is the only thing preventing this place from a five star rating. The service is good too. Everyone had been really nice and patient. The sandwiches are really good, and I'll be back to try out other delicious looking items on the menu.

La Cubanita Cafe is a hidden gem. It's located in this rundown looking shopping plaza but don't let that deter you. Their Medianoche is better than their Cuban, in my opinion. The croquetas are really good alone, but you should really consider putting in your Cuban sandwich! Super yummy! If you're not a sandwhich person, they serve plates of food too for the low low.

Open late...yeah! So this Location is not affiliated with any of the other La Cubanita Cafe's & is open late 7 days a week!!! Which was perfect for my late Sunday Spanish food craving. Restaurant is small but super clean with, fast & friendly service, & call ahead orders for pick up is also nice & convenient for on the go peeps! Food is warm, delicious, & displayed neatly! I ordered yellow rice, black beans, sweet plantains, & pork/pernil! Excellent!!! Plus it came w/ soft Cuban bread my favorite! I love Cuban bread! Yummmm! Everything was fabulous & satisfied my Cuban food craving! They also had Malta...a malt beverage that some Hispanics have grown up on & enjoy from time to time! Which complimented my meal perfectly!

Good food and awesome portion size! Location and restaurant itself may not be the most romantic place to take a date but if she's a keeper she would enjoy it anyway.
(4)Dicknose M.
The Cuban special sandwich is legit...can't imagine why anyone would ever eat McDonald's or Subway when you can get a sandwich this amazing for $7.50.
(4)Mario C.
This is a little hole in the wall type of place, but definitely some of the best Cuban/Spanish food in Tampa. Highly recommend the roast pork and the "arroz morro" (rice and beans which are cooked together)...
