I enjoy the atmosphere here . The decorations and music are all on par of what a Mexican style restaurant should feel like. I usually sit at the bar and always receive great service. If you get the super burrito better make sure you're HUNGRY. It made the plate look small..lol They have about 20 different lunch specials that run until 3pm. You can't beat the price. Whenever I'm in the area this is usually where you'll find me come lunch time. I enjoy the TV's in bar area. And the people are always nice. Good stuff

Went on a Tuesday evening and arrived around 8:30. Now I understand it's a busy night for Taco Tuesday special. Our friends were already there and sat with them right away. They had already received their tacos. Waitress came over and asked for drinks and rushed off without letting us get another word in for our order. Finally got to order. Husband ordered chicken and I had ground beef. Tacos came out within 5 mins but she brought us both chicken. When I politely shared that my order came out incorrect she acted surprised that I ordered beef. She kept trying to rush us and bring the check. It was barely 9:30 by the time we walked out. Honestly, great service goes a lot further than $1 tacos.

This restaurant is in the same plaza as other poorly rated ones. While I have not been there in about a year, any experience I have had has been negative. It is nowhere near authentic and I have seen waiters and waitresses put the food on the floor and then serve it to the patrons. I wish I had something positive to say about it but it is on par with Taco Bell. Save your money and go to Publix, make your own tacos.

Bad service HORRIBLE food Terrible presentation A disgrace to Mexican food overall. Don't waste your time coming here Absolute shit Not authentic Mexican food. You are better off eating at Taco Bell!!!

We went for their new breakfast menu, and thought it was awful! Everything we ate was old and clearly reheated. I had the huevos rancheros and they topped it with a canned salsa. Not worth waking up for,,,

Went for taco Tuesday and won't be back. The chicken tacos were pretty good. The salsa was loaded with cilantro which many people, including myself, cannot stand the taste of. The margaritas were so watered down that after two I ordered water.

Super fast, super cheap food. Not the best ever, but you can't beat the prices. $2.50 margaritas? Yes, please! Just don't order the guacamole, it's like green mayo. Other than that, haven't been disappointed in the food here yet. Service is USUALLY pretty good too...

Food was OK and overall clean restaurant. But atmosphere was odd. Kinda combo want to be sports bar and Mexican cafe. Would go back as it better than most but not as good as Mia Pueblo.

I've eaten here twice...the 1st time I dined about a year ago and the experience wasn't memorable. The service was slow & the food was at best edible, basically fast food grade. My second visit was just two days ago. I walked in and no one was standing at the hostess stand nor did anyone come immediately. When she did show up she looked bothered and said "yeah!" I stated that I wanted to place a take out order & she directed me to go to the bar and place my order. I walk up, sat down, the "bartender" was nice and asked if I wanted a menu. I placed my order and she asked if I wanted a drink. I responded "no, thank you". She asked are you sure you don't want a drink because it'll be about a 20 minute wait. Again, I said "no thank you". I'll slightly annoyed now because 1. I don't want to be at a "bar" 2. I don't drink 3. I don't want anyone to see me at a bar nor think I'm there to drink. Yet, as I'm waiting I notice that the glasses hanging looked dirty and spotty. And that nice bartender was on the phone nearly the entire time I was waiting for my food. Anyway, she brings out a bag with my food and I look in it then she says "Oh, your chips and salsa!" Again, not a great experience! I get home and the Chimichanga was ok but didn't taste like authentic Mexican. The rice and beans tasted leftover. And oh my goodness the salsa was the worst I've ever had (I really wish I would have left without it). I honestly believe it was made with canned tomato sauce. It was bland and flavorless. THE WORST! This place reminds me of a trashy "hole-n-the-wall" but without great food and that welcome home customer service. I wouldn't waste money or gas driving around the parking lot looking for a spot.

Ok so I've been going to this place for a while now. Last four times it's become progressively worse, wether it be service or food quality. My girlfriend likes the restaurant so we continue to go. Tonight may have changed her mind. We ordered the taco platters. We've ordered this meal often in the past. Food comes to the table looking different from one another and we ordered the same thing. Service was poor so I had to track down the waitress, I asked her from a side of lettuce, tomatoes, and cheese for the tacos. She returned and explained that her manager asked her to come look at the plates. So I asked her to send the manager over. So with the look of dread on her face to my surprise she approaches a guy sitting at the bar wearing t-shirt ball cap and shorts. He comes over and can't seam to find an issue other then the need for the requested food. He didn't even know his menu when I asked about other time I've eaten in the past. Won't be back any time soon. Maybe they just don't care out of season.

Location at the end of Lakewood Ranch Blvd. Nondescript appearance, lack of any real ambience. Prices are reasonable, BUT the quality and presentation of the food is NOT consistent. This is something the restaurant needs to work on. Considering the location, it has the prospect of improvement, but only if it improves the consistency of its product. Customers need to know what to expect when they order. Disappointment is a killer in the restaurant business.

Not terrible, just not great. Not authentic at all, though. Large menu. They just raised their prices on almost every item. They have $2 margaritas all day.

Bland food that tastes like a frozen dinner. Margaritas are cheap but not very good. Carnitas were awful. We have been here twice and will not be back.

Great Nachos! Good chips. Not a fan of the salsa though. Good prices and was able to use a coupon! My friend got a taco salad and said it was great.

Can't beat the $1.99 margaritas. Rest of the food was fair , not bad but nothing special. However, our waitress Carmen was awesome and provided great service!!

Cool little Mexican place in the back of a Publix plaza. I usually come here for the Taco Tuesday deals where you get $1 tacos, where you can have beef, bean, or chicken in hard or soft shells. Served with cheese, lettuce, and tomato. Cheaper and tastier than Taco Bell for sure. Anyway, this is in the very back corner of a large plaza. A nice fountain adorns the outside as you're walking in. There is a bar area near the kitchen and a sprawling dining area that I estimate seats close to 75 people. The menu is of a variety of Mexican inspired dishes ranging from chips and salsa to tacos, burritos, enchiladas, etc etc. Food is a little bit on the saltier side for my taste, but I do enjoy a little change from my normal everyday routine sometimes. The service is pretty good. I've never had any issues with any of the hostesses or waiters/waitresses. Overall, a pretty good restaurant that's good for children and groups as well.

The food is good with a large selection. My favorite so ear is the wet burrito, a stuffed burrito with a nice sauce poured over the top. Enjoyed the fajitas as well. They also have a la cart items such as tacos, tamales, etc. can't beat the $1.99 margaritas and 2-4-1 beers. Name that tune trivia on Saturday night is a lot of fun, I'd definitely check it out. Place is clean and the staff are very pleasant.

Great food!!! The fajitas are fantastic! Ask for George if sitting or Sabrina at the bar.

Not sure why there are any positive reviews for this establishment. I'm giving them two stars for cleanliness and a pretty good margarita. Food was mediocre at best and the service was horrible. I believe the Monday $1 menu is the draw. At this place you get what you pay for!

The service was prompt and friendly. I ordered the Poblano Chicken. This came with a huge portion of rice & beans and a salad with avocado and tomatoes. My chicken was a bit dry but the onions and poblano peppers that topped the chicken took away from some of the dryness. My food had some pretty good flavor and the prices are great! It was packed on both Tuesday and Wednesday (4-7pm) which in my opinion is a great sign! If I am ever back in the area I will be back!

I hardly ever write a review but in this case it is necessary. It's a shame they call themselves a Mexican restaurant because the food is as mediocre that I truly believe no Mexican will ever dine there and if they do, they will be dissapointed. The service is well, fast, concluding that the food is done before. I know that you get what you pay for, but I would suggest to anybody ever thinking of eating there to find another place, as this is very mediocre!

Never had a good experience here and the food tastes like it was reheated in a microwave.

Popular for karaoke, dollar taco nights and happy hour. Mexican food isn't particularly good, stick with basics like a taco or fajita and you will be fine.

Food had no flavor..anyone who is serious about mexican food will not like this place. service was below average too. Nice looking decor and clean restaurant but I would rather have a hole in the wall place that taste good. My son said he likes taco bell better..I have to agree after $60 bill!

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
