Pizza
Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.
Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.
Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.

So, I attend SCF and was looking for a place off campus where I could hangout, eat decent food and have a brew. I have to say that I found it. I went to have lunch and a beer and to study and take some notes. The staff was very friendly and didn't rush me, they have great micro brews on tap (big top) and the burger was excellent and greatly proportioned. When I was done they didn't shoo me out the door but allowed me to take my time, study and drink a couple of beers. Great atmosphere, not a huge place but very tasteful, not a dive joint by any means. I'll be coming on a regular basis as this is the best off campus site to relax and hang out at!

5 stars to the bartender! Personality plus, sassy, funny and knowledgeable! The food was fresh, good, well priced comfort food for the most part. We had fried brussels sprout with parmesan cheese, very tasty and a Philly cheese steak stuffed bell pepper. Dinner was meatloaf with brown gravy, mashed potatoes, and broccoli also very good and complemented by an excellent IPA from Goose Island. Very chill place and I will definitely be back!

Nice pub with fresh, tasty food choices. Great place to have a beer and catch a game.
(4)Heather J.
The whole group of us had the slow-roasted brisket tacos. Delicious!!! The beef melted in your mouth, toppings were perfect compliments. Will be back!

I walked in and immediately thought "is this a dive", and it wasn't in a good way. Then I saw the menu, I saw the smiling patrons and I saw an eclectic craft beer list. Once the food came, 4 hounds is a dive and in a really good way. Don't be fooled by the strip mall location. Don't be fooled by the exterior. This is a great find and I could go on for awhile about what was great. The calzones are fantastic. The wings were excellent. The pizza selection is as good as they taste. I can't imagine there is a better place in all of Bradenton for the mix of pizza, pasta and sandwiches.

All I can say about 4 Hounds Grill is this place rocks. What a great selection of food to choose from. Excellent portion and perfect flavor.
(5)Jimmy B.
Good prices, Good food, Good people. What else is there to say!! We will be back!
(5)Shelby G.
What a great place! We just recently moved to the area, and were looking for new places on yelp. As you can see, the reviews are good. After eating here, we will definitely be back! The food was great! Everything that came out of the kitchen looked delicious! The staff is super friendly. No complaints what so ever.

These are the type of owners you wish every restaurant had. They REALLY care about the quality of the food. I met 3 of the 4 owners and each brought a caring & friendly vibe to the place. It isn't a fancy place. It isn't fancy food. It's common food made with uncommon quality and preparation. From the "made on premises" breads, to the non GMO meats, these people work hard to produce meals that rival the quality of expensive, big name restaurants. I was told that the pork in my (outstanding) pulled pork sandwich cooks for up to 10 hours. They make virtually everything themselves. The potato skins had 2 or 3 separate layers of different cheeses. The bacon was piled high. As you can tell, I didn't go there for Chateaubriand. I went there for a typical lunch. What I got was an OUTSTANDING food experience. I can't wait to go back and try many other things on the menu including the "specials". Truly 5 Stars.

We went here because we he heard great things...I guess we went on the wrong night. I service was terrible, the food let much to be desired, and the last straw was that they serve their soda by the can. We both ordered a can of sprite which was served to us in a 12oz glass full of ice. We figured that because of this we had only been charged for one can of soda, we were wrong. After I ordered a refill the waitress comment that she was going to take my glass and get me more ice, upon my refusal she brought me an actual can of sprite which would barely fit in the glass with no ice. When then waited for 15-20 for boxes and a bill. Once the bill came I ended up walking over to have the card run because the waitress had not come back for it. Oh and the best part was that we were the only table on there.

Awesome food! We're here now and my fiance is having the big porker and myself, the shepherds pie. Both are fantastic, great flavor. Our server is super friendly and personable. This place is definitely a must if you're in the area!
(5)Michael B.
Great little bar and grill we found on here. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. I had the southwestern chicken sandwich and my colleague had the burger sliders. The food was fresh and extremely satisfying. I would definitely recommend it
(5)Lynn W.
Eat here. Seriously.
(5)Christina C.
A must try! If you're a local you have to check it out because I can almost guarantee that you'll be a regular once you do. The service is outstanding. It is an owner operated family business and extremely welcoming. The food is homemade and delicious, not like the typical restaurants in the area. They also have a great selection of craft beers from local breweries.
(5)Joshua B.
Recently stopped by on a whim while in town for dinner. The place is quite small, only a few tables and a bar. We were greeted and seated promptly. We ordered a chicken sandwich and a calzone. Both were quite tasty and we're reasonably priced. The service was quick and friendly as well. It was nice stumbling on this place.
(4)DawnMarie P.
This place is great!!! Small family owned - food made from scratch to order! We have tried 3 different homemade pasta dishes, fish tacos, & a cheeseburger- all were delish!! They have great selection of beers & they have my favorite- Apple cider ale!! They are very friendly!! 2nd time we came in, the owner remembered us & also remembered what we drank the first time we were there ( which had been a couple of weeks ago) Highly recommend 4 Hounds Grill!! Support your local businesses & try it!
(5)Carol L.
Have been to 4 Hounds twice and will be back. Everything is made from scratch. The quality of the food is great. The burgers were juicy and tasty. The calzone is large. The side dishes are all handmade. My fav was the potato salad. The fish and chips were wonderful. They have daily specials on top of the regular menu. Definitely, a must try.
(5)Kristie Y.
The best food ever. Never have had bad food. We tried hard boiled egg and beacon deep fried. Yummmy
(5)Lenny C.
Every time we visit "the hound" the food is delicious and the people are great! Today the calzone was delectable and the potato skins were gigantic ;) and now they have craft beers on tap! I had the Florida Avenue Blueberry ale... Sooo good!
(5)Alice R.
Found this restaurant on Yelp, decided to try it out. This was the BEST restaurant we have been to in a long time. Everything was made from scratch!!! ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS!!! Owners very friendly! Will definitely go back! Give this place a try..... You'll love it!
(5)David C.
We were staying in the area and found 4 Hounds on Yelp. The 4.5 star rating was spot on! The three of us shared the fried brussel sprouts and the garlic-Parmesan wings as appetizers. The sprouts were a hit and the garlic-Parmesan wing coating was fresh, not from a 5 gallon can. The southwest chicken/ avocado sandwiches were recommended and deservedly so! Wednesday night is Mexican night and the chicken/ avocado burrito was very good. Add house-made fries, $3 margarita, and a good craft beer selection and you have a hit!
(5)Robert W.
A must in Bradenton, a favorite for my family. Give it a try, I'm sure you will love it as we do.
(5)Sharon D.
Inconspicuously tucked into a tiny shopping center on 26th just a hair south of. 53rd. This little gem has a great gal Christine in the front of the house and her husband the chef is in back making the magic. He must love food as he knows what he's doing! Nice atmosphere, great furnishings and simply wonderful food. We had the chicken Parmesan and Alfredo with chicken. Both executed very well. Menu heavy in fresh fish but had home made meatloaf and mashed potatoes as well. They also had Burgers and sandwiches. Not a huge menu so you know that it's all fresh. Next time I'll try the fried Brussels sprouts appetizer. The house wine was $3.50 a glass and was good. I suggest reservations as this tiny gem will soon be very busy. BTW. While we were there, there was a steady stream of customers coming in to pick up Pizza's and other items to go. Happy to see a new place in town. We will certainly go back.

We ate here last week based on the great reviews from Yelpers...My family thought it was OK. It's kind of a dive that is having an identity crisis. Is it a bar or a family restaurant? Because it's too small to be both. The bar is really large and takes up most of the room. Very little ambiance to had here. There was a woman working the tables and the bar and she was super nice and welcoming. We started with the homemade mozzarella sticks and sauce. DELISH!!! They were totally homemade and the sauce was really really good. It was nicely seasoned and yummy tomato flavor. For entrees, I had the crab cakes napoleon, they were severed with lemon cream sauce, steamed asparagus and rice. It was a nice portion but the crab cakes were a little over cooked and it's sad they were all claw meat and the sauce had no flavor, kind of like a bechamel with no flavorings added. After a few squeezes of lemon and some salt and pepper I was good to go. Our daughter had wings-good wings and nice size. Hubby had a meat lovers pizza BUT when my dish and my daughters dish came out we waited a few minutes for hubby's pizza. We call our server over and inquired about it. She apologized about the wait and explained that when it was being plated it fell on the floor so the cook had to make another one. OK, we understand things happen but it would've been nice to know about this. When it did arrive it was good, nice hand tossed dough and a healthy amount of toppings and a yummy sauce. Not sure if we will be back because it is a little far from where we live for food that we can get closer to home...but if we are in that area and looking for a bite to eat we will stop in here.

nice family oriented restaurant, i had the chicken picata with pasta. it was so good i went back two days later and had it again. i'm looking forward to my next visit. lots of other good choices to eat. something for everyone. i found the hound. you owe it to yourself to give it a try...
(5)Matt P.
i went by there yesterday only to see that they closed and its a shame cuz it was a great place too eat i hope they reopen soon
(5)Sarah T.
Awesome food, everything we had was clearly made from scratch and was excellent. Hot wings, hand breaded chicken fingers, hand cut fries. Yum! If you want way above average food and great service give this place a try. Very close to IMG academy in a small strip mall-doesn't look like much from the outside but anyone that appreciates really good food must try this place! Owners seem like great people as well, it's always great to support small businesses. We will definitely be back.
(5)Ted W.
Calzone was huge and excellent. Sandie's and Italian was very good. "Hole in the wall" strip mall place but food and people are great. Worth coming back!
(4)Kim C.
Awesome place ... & craft beers ... it's a must try- food is freshly made for you- can't wait to go back ;-)
(5)LA A.
GREAT food! They can cook, everything for all our group has been great now twice. Service is great to boot. The place is solid!
(5)Sue L.
I love this place. The Italian beef sandwiches are terrific. I always go there when I am homesick for Chicago.
(5)Teresa A.
Nice place. Pasta is homemade and very excellent. Light and delightful. Had chicken piccata. Would recommend. Try it. Well worth the trip
(4)Chris D.
Just a fantastic place. We dropped our son off at IMG Academy and stopped by on the way to our hotel. Everything on the menu looked great and we completely over ordered the appetizers. Brussel Sprouts, Potato Skins and Stuffed Pepper were off the charts. A family run business and you can tell by how much they care. For a small place it's an extremely broad and interesting menu. Only regret is that we can't pack it up and take it with us back to the North East with us!
(5)Mindy A.
Ice cold draft beer, daily lunch and dinner specials, and the food is really good! We had the chicken picatta and pasta that was on special. Lots of different options and the place is nice and small! Little Bradenton secret. A must try!
(5)Rick J.
Our party was mixed on the review. I had the chicken sandwich and sweet potato/sausage soup. I thought it was unique and pretty tasty. Another had the philly cheesestake and commented that was dry and lacked some flavor. My daughter liked the sliders, meat was good, but didn't care for the fries. Another liked the creamy Alfredo sauce, but thought the chicken was a little chewy. All and all prices were VERY reasonable and had a very wide variety of unique menu items. I think I'd still go back to try the bacon wrapped hotdog.
(4)Jeffrey B.
Previous reviews praised the food and someone called it a "dive". I have had some of the best food from dives so had to give it a try. Let me tell you this is definitely NOT a dive and the food is VERY tasty and reasonably priced for the portion size. I had the Stromboli with sausage and spinach. It was enough for me for dinner and lunch the next day! We will definitely go back.
(5)Tom V.
Excellent scratch made food. Fantastic fresh cut fries that were crispy, but not greasy. It's great to find a place that cares so much about the details. We will be back. Definitely try 4 Hounds Grill.
(5)jake t.
Great place, great burgers, operated by long time food service people. first visit, but definitely going back. We had a group of 13 they had our tables ready and service was very good, fast food was fresh and hot. They bake all their own breads from scratch. Pizza looks great will try it tomorrow for the Football games. Maybe 5 star is a little high for first time visit and a burger, but are party all said everything they had was outstanding.
(5)Leah W.
My Grandmother is elderly and lives very close to Four Hounds Grill. I suggested she try the restaurant and told her to ask for Chris. When she went in for lunch it was Chris's day off, but Chris happened to be there when my Grandmother came in. Chris took her time to welcome my Grandmother and help her select something from the menu despite it being her day off. My Grandmother felt so welcomed and well taken care of. She said the hamburger she selected was delicious and the service had a personal touch. My grandmother said the prices are reasonable, the service excellent, and the food delicious! She is looking forward to her next meal at Four Hounds Grill, and will be frequenting the restaurant!
(5)Patricia W.
Omg!!! My husband and i were totally surprised....we went by the Yelp reviews but when we walked in we thought "uh oh maybe a mistake". But to our surprise, the food was incredible, the service very friendly and we will definitely be back. We ordered the truffle fries, beer batter burgers and cucumber salad. Everything was delicious. Plus it is a family owned business and not a chain. The prices were reasonable and did i mention that they had beer on tap??? Yummy, do yourself a favor and go there!
(5)Joe B.
My feeling in regards to this restaurant, I have been in the area 14 years this restaurant is by far the best i have ever been at. The food is excellent, all home made , service is out standing and the prices are very reasonable.
(5)Troy T.
The mussels were delicious. Very nice combination of flavors and sauce was great. Everything else looked good too.
(4)Jonathan W.
Decent place to grab a beer. Their food is decent as well but could improve. I ordered the shepherd's pie which was on special and everything was great except the mashed potatoes and the American cheese slices they put on top I feel like they could have done a better job there. Their pizza was lackluster with hardly any flavor. The beer was perfectly chilled and delicious.
(3)Eric G.
Love 4 Hounds! Everyone is so friendly here that after my first visit I felt like a regular. I personally would be a bit suspect if I saw me coming through the door but they made me feel at home here. The food is very good, all fresh and not that frozen crap we've come to expect in a lot of restaurants. All natural ingredients, but not in that dirty hippy sense. More in the way you'd do it at home if you weren't lazy. They have a revolving selection of good local craft beers. With so many great breweries in the area it's nice to see locally sourced beers. What's left? It's very clean, should mention that. Anything I leave out? Love this place!
(5)Robin E.
This was a fabulous experience! We had crab cakes and fish and chips. Both were delectable. It's a small intimate place and owner run. These people care about your experience and it shows. We will be back and share the love!!!
(5)Bill B.
An absolute must visit if you are in the area. Using Yelp, we were off to another restaurant, but found it full. Moving to plan B, we decided to try Four Hounds. To our surprise,we had driven right past the restaurant earlier. The exterior did not exactly "speak to us", but the reviews got us in the door. What a great decision. Craft beer, all natural menu, everything and they mean everything is made on the spot. Wednesday is Mexican food night and my wife loved her pulled chicken tacos. I went with fish and chips. Tempura version and the most appealing serving I have ever seen. This is a family business run by two sisters and their spouses. It felt like family. Warmth spread from all the customers and we felt welcome to the family. We will definitely be back time and time again.
(5)Mike P.
Great place to eat! Don't know why they called it a dive bar. Maybe because it is small. Lots of interesting things on the menu Three of us ate there the other night. Two of us had Stromboli and the other had calzone. Fresh ingredients and very good. It is definitely a place we will be returning to! Very nice people and good food, what more could you ask for?
(5)Scott W.
Just left this fabulous place! Such a true find off the beaten path! Would highly recommend this place to locals and vacationers! I had the Chicken Marsala for dinner and we all shared chicken wings and steamed mussels as appetizers...all tasted equally GREAT!
(5)Ellie P.
This place is great! First thing you notice when you get there is the location... admittedly it's not where I usually go to get a bite to eat, but we went anyway based on the very positive reviews. Even though the outside is a little rough around the edges, it's actually very conveniently close to SCF or Bayshore High School. The day we got there it was a rainy, weekday so it wasn't very busy. They had a "Burger Sunday Specials" additional menu that we ordered off of. We both got the "American Burger" that was an 8 ounce patty topped with chili, Mac 'n cheese, and a bacon wrapped hot dog. It was absolutely amazing and so large and filling! I also had an elderberry cider that was sweet and yummy. Our server looked like she may have also been the owner/manager - she was so friendly and accommodating to my somewhat high-maintenance requests regarding modifying my order. We were very pleased with our experience and plan on returning. If you are looking for great burgers, cheap beers, and friendly service in the area - here you go!!
(5)Cheryl L.
$1 Beer, and it wasn't even happy hour - this a regular price on their menu. This alone deserves 5 stars. Who does this? 4 Hounds Grill does, that's who. Being from out of town and not knowing the area we did a quick yelp search after going to the movies. Based on the name my husband being the dog lover that he is choose this place. It also has 4 dogs in the logo - you can't go wrong with that. We pulled into the parking lot and it is very unassuming store front in the strip mall. We walked and were warmly greeted by the waitress/bartender behind the bar. We were told we could sit anywhere we wanted. We picked table and we promptly brought menus and silverware. They have a nice sized menu and after pursuing for a few minutes decided on the large Big Daddy pizza without broccoli. We thought broccoli might be a bit too healthy for a vacation pizza (lol). When the pizza came out it was huge, when they say large they mean it. We figured we could always have leftovers. Everything about the pizza was delicious. Nice crispy bottom, charred crust, and fresh ingredients. The menu includes soups, salads, sandwich/wraps, pastas, burgers, and dinner choices (such as meatloaf, chicken piccata, fish and chips and fried chicken. The prices are very reasonable. And did I mention $1 beer. If you find yourself in Bradenton do yourself a favor and stop in, have a beer and meal. You won't be sorry.
(5)Jami S.
We found 4 Hounds on yelp, drove from Longboat to try it and I'm glad we did! We started with the fried Brussel sprouts and fried pickles, both were great but the Brussels sprouts were my favorite. The homemade ranch served with the pickles was fantastic! My son's hot dog was served on an extremely fresh, homemade roll which was delicious. I had the Greek salad which was good but the potato salad it was served with was spicy, it tasted like it had wasabi in it which I wasn't a fan of. I also ordered a side of the cucumber salad which was light and fresh. My husband had a burger which he said was very good. Overall it was a great Sunday lunch, the service was fantastic and friendly, we'll definitely be back!
(4)Elise L.
An unassuming (from the outside) awesomefest! The inside was super clean and well kept, the beer selection was excellent, the service was friendly and attentive, and the food was fantastic, right down to the homemade bun.
(5)Guy S.
The fish and chips, accompanied with the cucumber salad, stole the show tonight. This dish is large enough to split. My calzone was good. But after tasting the fish and chips, that's what I wanted.
(3)William A.
Great little place!! We had the brussel sprout ap...awesome!! I had a burger with pea salad, really good. My wife had the Chicken Piccata, she said it was OK....not as good as hers but she's a pretty good cook.
(5)Mary V.
Delicious food in an unassuming environment. Total hole in the wall but don't be fooled by the location. The food was creative and made with love and by an experienced chef. (I know..we met him and his wife!) Don't miss the Brussel Sprout's sprinkled with parmesan, Mussels with sausage in a rich tomato broth or the classic Pulled Pork sandwich (11 hour cook) topped with house made cole slaw. 2015 is my year to try out as many 'dive' restaurants as I can. I'm SO glad I started with this one!!
