Loved my meal. I had the buffalo crepe and it was enough food for two meals. Would have loved an outdoor Seating area but otherwise no complaints!

We have visited Longboat Key for several years now, but always went back to our "old tried and true" restaurants for dinner. This year we tried Island Creperie for the first time. We should not have waited. All four of us really enjoyed the onion soup. Our main dishes were all very tasty, and the dessert crepes..... really great. Our server was pleasant and attentive, and on a Tuesday night, we found parking only 25 feet from the front door. All in all, we had a wonderful evening. Now we all want to come back for breakfast!

We have been coming to island for 5 years and this spot has always been part of the tradition. But yesterday when my husband and our 3 girls went we were treated like we were not welcome. The first waitress told us they were full and we would need to come back in 15 minutes so we did. But when we returned the 2nd lady who appeared to be the owner came out and told us it would be 20 minutes and even we we told her we were just here 15 minutes ago and was told 15 minutes. She was not kind or apologetic and proceeded to tell us we would need to go. We left and will never return. We choose to spend our money where we are welcome. And the crepes are just ok.

I just stopped by for a quick brunch, had the croque madame. Delicious, reasonably priced and the homemade vingerate dressing was good too. I finished my plate salad and all. Thanks to Peggy too for her great service, I will for sure be coming back
(5)Ana C.
We arrived about 25 minutes before the end of lunch and were greeted warmly and without the sense that we needed to hurry. The staff were pleasant and polite. We had croque Madame, croissant and crepes with warm strawberry compote. Oh, and one of the delicious dessert crepes with chocolate and berries. We plan to return before our vacation ends.

My mom took me here for lunch the last time I visited her and I can't wait to go back the next time I'm down in Bradenton. The space inside is cozy and intimate. Our server was very friendly and our food all came out very quickly. I ordered the "Canadian Buck" (a savory crepe with smoked salmon, artichokes and cream cheese) and it was light and full of flavor. The salad served on the side had a delicious dressing on it and the House Salad that my mom ordered was even better (the blue cheese was fantastic). For dessert, we shared the "Haiti Crepe" - it was served warm and the cinnamon really added to the other flavors inside the crepe.

We honestly weren't very impressed at all. We decided to have breakfast here after reading some rave reviews and were sadly disappointed. Everything was just mediocre. The croissant wasn't good at all and the strawberry jam crepes were just eh. The best part was the St. Maarten crepe with Nutella, bananas, and whipped cream. The service wasn't bad as stated in other reviews but I can't say that will be return here next time we are in the area.

As we were staying in Anna Maria Island, we made a trip to Brandenton Beach for dessert. The dessert crepes were AMAZING! My favorite though was the Nutella. Service was great, our server was very attentive and nice. Also, I had a view of the kitchen and it looked impeccable. Cleanliness is very important to me, especially where they make my food. Island Creperie is highly recommended! Great atmosphere for date nights.
(5)Anna A.
Amazing crêpes and our waitress was really nice. I just wished they had outdoor seating so we could be in the sun. If I went again I would go for dinner.
(4)Stefanie M.
Be still my french loving heart. I wish we had not found this place on our last morning on Bradenton Beach. Damn. What a great breakfast / brunch / lunch / dessert spot! The decor is attractive, and a little nicer than you might expect from the purple shack you see from the street. The crepes are divine, and a large menu of sweet or savory crepes to choose from! Also they have the croque Madame! Gosh, that sandwich was my jam when I studied in Paris in college! Good service, great food, sweet atmostphere, good prices, sweet owners, highly recommend!

Wow. Yes, it was that bad. The high rating and a friends recommendation sent me here with my daughter, son, husband, and mother. It started off a little funky with the waitress being rude to my daughter. Here is a tip: when you tell the guest that the bathroom is outside, actually tell them WHERE or in which direction to head instead of continuing to say "Outside" louder and louder without pointing and then yelling when they head out the wrong door. Beyond that, we were still looking forward to breakfast. The waitress continued to make nasty comments and we just ignored them. We ordered and received our food. I got the savory and sweet breakfast. I ordered my eggs over medium - which I was told meant that the whites were cooked through but the yellow was runny "Just like it is everywhere". Except here apparently! My yellows were cooked through. And don't bother pointing this out to the waitress, she won't care. My son did enjoy his profiteroles crepe - it was good. Oh and with the sweet & savory breakfast it says you get one sweet crepe - just know you don't get a choice as the wording may lead you to believe. You get the sugar crepe at the top of the list. The creeps are NOT traditional French crepes either. These are VERY SPONGY! So because of the incredibly rude waitress AND the poor food, they get a 1 star. I am very tempted to send my French sister-in-law there just to watch her rip them a new one in their native tongue!! Now THAT would be fun and make up for the horrible experience!!
(1)Darryl B.
A lot to be desired. Staff are not the friendliest and seem confused about who can seat people. Delivered us the wrong items. Hard to tell when they are crepes I guess. Coffee tasted like well water...yuk! Food was nothing special. Would not go out of my way for mediocre food next time.

The sweetest experience was had at this delicious gem of a creperie. My mother organized a bridal brunch for me and about 10 ladies and everyone was so pleased. Our server was Peggy who was wonderful. The French owner/chef (I want so say her name is similar to Natacia) came out to give her best wishes and it will be cherished for a lifetime. She genuinely told me to 'enjoy my moment' in her French accent...with so much sincerity.. it makes me teary now! My mom's bag of decorations/favors for the brunch was lost by Frontier airlines, and the SWEETEST staff helped turn napkins into flowers to decorate the table. I will truly never forget this experience. The food was delicious, and we had mimosas (of course). I had a ham and cheese crepe and added pears (a reviewer below mentioned this was a problem - but it was no trouble for us), as well as a nutella crepe. Everyone liked their meals, but it was the ambience and sweet staff that made our experience truly unique. Thank you, Island Creperie!
(5)Mike S.
A little gem tucked away on a narrow lane that used to lead to the original Anna Maria Bridge. The menu specializes in crepes and little else.....but what they do, they do exceedingly well. Perfect for breakfast/brunch/light dinner or desserst. Fine savory buckwheat crepes with a fine array of meat, cheese or veggie fillings. The sweet crepes are made with white flour, with lots of fruit, cream, cheese options, including nutella. So even if you understandably focus on island seafood, this is a fine topper for dessert or brunch......I mean how much key lime pie can you consume.

We were in the Tampa area with some friends for the weekend and we were driving around looking for a place to have some breakfast. We came accross this little establishment and it looked inviting so we stayed there. We were very happy with our decision as for the food was SPECTACULAR. Service was meh....the lady could had been nicer (I don't even remember her name) but the ambiance and the food made up for her lack of warmth. If you are in the area, and stop by the Island Creperie, make sure you order their French Toast...it's to die for!!! Thick and moist slice of french bread, with the most perfect and totally delicious glaze. The crepes were ok, and their croissants ooohhhhh sooooooo delish!!!! If we ever visit this area again we will be coming back for the fabulous food.
(4)Lucy B.
We really enjoyed this tiny place. It feels like you're transported to Paris when you enter this warm but dark restaurant. Server was friendly and overt with her suggestions - which we welcomed. We each ordered a different crepe and all were satisfied with the concoctions. The smoked salmon crepe with fresh tomato might have held its temperature better if they were assembled at room temp instead of out of the fridge - but still quite tasty. Fresh spinach instead of frozen would be better. Of interest was the little side salad with delicious house dressing. We'll be back for lunch!
(4)Karl R.
Just enjoyed a delicious breakfast! Love this place!
(5)Geri M.
Nice place for breakfast. Crepes, French toast, croissants very good. Very good quick service.
(4)Justin S.
Incredible food. Great value. I highly recommend for breakfast/lunch. We had the escargots ($7) Canadian buck crepe, and buffalo buck crepe. Everything was superb, can't wait to return and try something else?
(5)Melissa V.
I LOVE bringing my friends and family to this very special little breakfast place. It is our FAVORITE. This place is truly French. Adorable, classy, and prices are quite the bargain for what you are getting.
(5)Lauren T.
This place is FANTASTIC. Seriously. The service is fast and friendly, all the crepe fillings are fresh and high-quality, and the buckwheat crepes even impressed my relatives from Brittany. Prices are very reasonable, you can have breakfast or lunch plus a drink for under $10 each. The interior is dark and not very beach-y, but you'll get over it when you taste your crepe.
(5)Chris V.
The best breakfast on AMI. Open everyday of the year. Feels like a little bistro in the south of France.
(5)Jason B.
Always a top stop for breakfast and dinner when on vacation on AMI.
(5)Norris B.
This is a great alternative to the standard restaurants in the area. I liked the breakfast but loved the dinner. The food is excellent the service is friendly and efficient and the prices are reasonable. A great dining experience.
(5)Julie T.
Great breakfast spot! Lots if crepes to choose from and awesome prices. Our server was extremely friendly. Small spot with slight difficulty finding parking spots, but well worth it! Go early to get a table.
(4)Ron V.
Food was great! Service was excellent! Gwen was a pleasure :) dessert crepe was the best!
(5)Lucien B.
great service, good food. had a good sandwich once and a yummy savory crepe (buckwheat!) the other time. good sweet crepes too. right near the pier, mini-golf, and bridge street.
(4)Thorsten H.
So many good choices, as long as you want a crepe. They are sooo good. The black forest crepe was my favorite. They do also have a handful of sandwiches but did not try those
(5)Cozy D.
This was a super find. Great atmosphere and even better food. In our company of 6 was a bona fide Frenchie who lived in Paris and who is very particular about all things French. She was prepared to tell us how this food fell short of true French cuisine. Much to her delight, she was wowed by how authentic the food tasted. That information - together with what I already was experiencing - made me know what a wonderful place the Island Creperie was. We will look forward to our return visit.
(5)Sherri G.
I was there 4 th of July 2013 from greensboro nc the food was unbelievable cant wait to go back !!!!
(5)jmay b.
Kind of dark & gloomy and lorded over by a rather snarky waitress, but the food was excellent - we had lunch and each enjoyed the savory buckwheat crepes. Tried to save room for dessert, but no such luck. The small side salad was delicious as well. Great spot for lunch when you need a break from all the fresh grouper!
(3)Melissa H.
What a wonderful find! The ambience is casual, comfortable and fine all at once. The food is perfection. I had the Chicken Normande and the sauce managed to be rich and light simultaneously, my husband had the Curry Chicken and said it was the best he's had since a meal in remote Vermont 40 years ago. The service is friendly and almost impossibly efficient considering that one woman was tending to a nearly full dining room. I will definitely eat there again and will recommend to everyone I know.
(5)Judy B.
wonderful food, good service, fast-----would definitely go back again!
(4)Moonsover M.
Love it here. The crepes are delicious. I always have a hard time choosing between sweet and savory but not here. The sweet and sour crepe combo hit the spot. Buckwheat crepe and a mini sugar crepe were just the thing. The place is cozy and calming and the French jazz/American standards combo playing made this experience perfection. Very much enjoying island life at Island Creperie.
(4)Matt L.
The food was delicious, but the service was terrible. Out of the 6 people in my party, they only got 2 of our orders right. The chef came out several times to check on us, clearly aware of the problems we were having, but did not apologize. They seriously need to reevaluate their operations and management.
(2)Michelle T.
The food is very good and authentic. The French hotdog is awesome. My biggest compliant is the old lady waitress with the white hair. She is so obnoxious and rude. Even though my husband and I have had 5+ great meals there, I can't convince him to go back because that waitress ruins the experience. She is always there and is unavoidable. Management-get rid if the crazy lady and you will have customers for life.
(4)Gerardo D.
Great food, but understaffed, would def come again for the food!
(3)Shane R.
My wife and I discovered this place purely by accident many years ago. Oliver and his wife had recently opened the place after coming to the states from France. We were so blown away by the food and their gracious service that we bring our family and friends once or twice a year. It is almost an hour drive for us to get there but it is well worth it. They have made such nice improvements over the years to the décor without affecting the prices or the quality of the food. If you are in the area, you have to stop by and try this little piece of France in America!
(5)Richard S.
Great dinner after a long bike ride. Excellent service, beef bourguignon was outstanding. Very good crepes for dessert. Definitely would go back.
(5)Barbara M.
We were three for dinner tonight (3/20/14). The menu was surprisingly broad, as was the wine list. Each of us was pleased with our choices . . onion soup, warm brie salad, smoked salmon salad, followed by scallops for one and pork tenderloin medallions for two. Dauphinoise potatoes and spinach flan . . particularly well done . . accompanied each dinner. Service was good, if not great. Major drawback: Finding a parking space. A really classic meal in an unlikely location. I recommend it highly.
(5)Michael H.
Great little secret tucked in off the main thoroughfare. Menu changes, so you can always look forward to something new, the food is simply amazing and the setting is intimate, good date place, plus they have just about every crepe topping you can think of, but that's not all they have. I've had their beef stew, it's just a party in your mouth, go or you'll be sorry.
(5)Steve R.
Delicious food for a reasonable price. Our waitress was a character but very attentive. Kid friendly. We left full and happy.
(4)Lisa H.
A welcomed change to the normal heavy and gut numbing breakfast. Perfect portions and healthy! We biked over the bridge to the restaurant and it was worth it. I got the Quiche Lorraine which had ham and cheese inside. It was homemade and fresh and the crust was baked perfectly. The simple salad that accompanies it was crunchy and the white balsamic went perfectly with my quiche. My partner ordered the Atlantic Sandwich. It had Brie and salmon on fresh baked bread. I kept asking for another bite;) really quite delicious and again, so simple. Lastly we split the honey and walnut crepe which was amazing. There were families around and the wait staff was really friendly and welcoming. I would recommend this place and will be returning again for more crepes!
(4)Carmen N.
This was really a let down, the food was just ok and based on the yelp reviews we were expecting so much more. We were excited to try it and it just fell flat. My husbands eggs which were ordered over medium were raw inside his crepe, like the whites were still clear and runny, he would have told the waitress but she didn't come check on us. I had the spinach, blue cheese and sour cream crepe, it was very bland (and I don't usually salt my food). I asked to add onion to it and was told no I could not! My kids had the fruit crepes and they seemed to enjoy those more than we did our meals. When we walked in the door a woman with a French accent (I am guessing the owner), didn't greet us, instead she yelled "close the door". Which was extremely rude and of course we were gonna close the door, when we were done walking thru it! We asked to split the bill up because we had two families dining and the waitress rolled her eyes and said she has to do it by hand and stormed off. 2 stars for food, 1 star for rude staff!
(2)Dor R.
I asked to add pears to my crepe and the French chef personally came out to scold me. Our orders then got put behind 5 other parties who came after us. We asked why our food was late and they said that we took too long to order. Their rudeness was a real bummer
(1)Francisco C.
This restaurant surprised me, it has an unexpected variery of food from sandwichs to full meals. The sandwichs come with salad and the crepes were excellent. The environment was cozy along with French music which make it a relaxing place to have any meal. They also has different types of coffee.

I was looking for good restaurants while on vacation, and I came across Island Creperie and since I absolutely love crepes, I thought it would be a fun little place to check out while here. My mom and I decided to try it out. We found a spot to park, kind of far away, because I can't park the giant beast of a van we rented, and walked a few small blocks to the restaurant. When we walked in, I noticed how tiny, and cozy it was. There were dark walls, and pretty damask lamp shades hanging. When we walked in, we were greeted and sat at a small table by the window. The same woman who seated us, was our server. She was attentive, helpful and very nice. She took our drink order and we were deciding on what we wanted to eat. Everything looked so good, it was hard to decide. When our server came back, we ordered. I ordered the Miami Sandwich, which is a french baguette with tuna, tomatoes, black olives, mayo and onions. It comes with hard boiled egg too, but I requested it with no egg, and it wasn't a problem. I also got a butter-sugar crepe on the side. My mom got the Big French Breakfast, which is a large piece of thick french toast, a croissant, and two crepe rolls, with strawberry jam. She also ordered a side plate of ham and a latte. I will say, the chairs were a little uncomfortable, because they are little bistro chairs, but if you have a little butt, you probably would think they were fine, lol. They also seemed a little disproportionate to the tables, because I felt like a giant at the table, with the chairs. Our food came, and the presentation was very nice, my baguette was nicely cut in half and it came with a fresh salad on the side. The french dressing for the salad was actually very complimentary to the sandwich as well. The tuna sandwich was a little bit bland, I expected the mayo to be mixed in a little, but I barely tasted the mayo. Because of this, I poured my french dressing on my sandwich. The crepe was just okay to me. I have been to France and tasted authentic french crepes and these didn't really taste authentic. They were kind of heavy, and spongy, and less airy and lacy. The flavor was nice, I just expected it to taste different. My mom liked her meal as well, she thought the best part was the french toast, saying if we went back she would just order an entire plate of that. When the ham came, it looked like deli ham just rolled into pretty rolls on the plate. It was kind of pricey for those things, costing almost $30 for a sandwich, small meal, crepe and latte. The staff was very friendly and the atmosphere was very nice, and quiet, as we went on a Monday morning to avoid weekend crowds.

My husband and I ate here twice for breakfast while staying in Bradenton Beach on Anna Maria Island. I ordered the sweet and sour breakfast each time. I chose to get ham, scrambled eggs and cheese in my savory crepe, and then the sweet crepe came with just sugar and syrup, however I added jam and whipped cream. Both were amazing!! The ham, egg and cheese were the perfect combination and hit the spot!! The first time we went my husband ordered a Nutella crepe with fruit. He wasn't a fan because he thought the fruit came on the inside of the crepe, but it did not. The next time he ordered the same as me, ha! Overall, this place is fantastic and we will definitely come back next time we are here. I love the purple walls and French feel! Awesome!
(4)Molly S.
I ordered the warm brie salad which was two nice slices of brie on top of thick toast and a small drizzle of honey. It was served on a bed of lettuce with a tangy dressing on the side. I found it to be very good and comforting. Also shared two dessert crepes, the chocolate coconut crepe (delicious but very sweet so a good one to share) and the fruit crepe (superbly topped with fresh fruit at the peak of flavor). The restaurant itself was very cute with bright purple and gray colors, and a good location in the middle of a little shopping area.
(5)Nenad K.
One of the nicest and different places to go. If You ever find Yourself on Anamaria Island You should try it! My friend and I decided to have different breakfast then usual. More branch! Personally I have grow up eating crappies. He too. It suppose to be surprise for both of us. Service and people are very polite and we have fun. However, crappies tasted like a cardboard. Ingredients inside were excellent but crappies taste were disappointing. I will give it another try!
(3)Carrie S.
Food was good but I am giving 3 stars because the lack of service. Our server was horrible and we sat there 10 minutes with no drinks while we waited to order. She finally took our order and brought drinks but then we sat there another 20+ minutes waiting for food, and the restaurant was not that busy because it was around 11: 10 AM and the breakfast crowd has gone and the lunch crowd was not in yet. The food was good when it arrived, but again, our server never came back to refresh our drinks or anything. We heard a table next to us complaining as well about the service. We tried to order a dessert and finally a new server came at the end to help us (she brought our food) and she was nice and helpful and brought our check. The dessert was OK but not enough filling so it ended up being mostly crepe. I would have given 4 stars because the food was good, but service was terrible by the first server.
(3)Brian D.
The last 5 years we have vacationed on Anna Maria and we would make sure to have breakfast here at least one morning but not this year. We were told there was a 15 min wait and checked back in 20 mins and was told it would be another 20 mins because they placed another group in front of us with out explanation or apology or concern. In the past we have put up with slow serve, poor service, and failing electrical wiring that delayed meal preparation, but we felt they appreciated our business, but not this morning which was very disappointing, so we will not be returning.
(1)Kathleen T.
Excellent breakfast! They were very accommodating to our group 12. Food was wonderful and intimate atmosphere.
(5)Frank S.
Great service and great food! The coffee is also fantastic. We will be back
(5)Briana T.
BEST CROSSAINT EVER!! Cute little creperie on the Island. I had the big french breakfast, which was a croissant, a slice of french toast and 2 crepes with strawberry jam. The croissant was flaky and buttery and sprinkled with powdered sugar, the French Toast was a delicious thick slice of french bread, I was full by the time I got to the crepes, but they were on par with the croissant and toast. My friend had a croissant with egg and bacon along with some perfectly roasted potatoes. We will be having breakfast here for the rest of the week! Just writing this review makes me want a croissant...
(5)Lea T.
Great spot with authentic food! The atmosphere is like dining in a cozy French bistro and the smell of delicious crepes fills the air as you walk in. Personally more of a fan for breakfast or lunch than dinner just because portions are on the smaller side. Must try the dessert crepes!!
(4)Rachel T.
This is a wonderful little gem on Bridge Street. Ordered the French Breakfast and buckwheat crepe and have even had a crepe with honey. They were all absolutely delicious and parallels no other crepe I've had.
(5)Paula W.
This review is for breakfast only. We ordered the egg and sausage crepe, sweet crepe, and the fruit crepe. The fruit crepe had bananas, previously frozen berries, and canned peaches on it. I was hoping for fresh fruit. Both the fruit crepe and sweet crepe was cooked with granulated sugar folded inside. It made the fruit crepe overly sweet and it also gave the crepes a gritty texture since the sugar did not completely melt. The texture ruined them. The egg and sausage crepe was ok. The sausage wasn't great quality. It wasn't terrible but I think my expectations were a lot higher for a French crepe place with such great reviews.
(2)Mac O.
Island Crêperie is: Tucked away on a side street. Decorated in deep burgundy paint. Hung with vintage French travel advertisements. Run by a Francophone husband and wife, chef and hostess duo. Serving buckwheat savories and white sweets. île Crêperie est authentique et vraiment délicieux. (See, sometimes the French comes in handy.) Went for breakfast one morning and loved: The tucked away, quiet location. The deep burgundy paint. The vintage travel adverts. The Francophone husband and wife duo. Thin, chewy buckwheat savories with spinach, sour cream, and blue cheese; and with ratatouille and over-easy eggs. The homemade vinaigrette dressing over a simple shredded lettuce and juicy tomato salad. The service. The prices. Judging by the incredible number of regulars, Anna Maria loves this place, too. Oui, oui, Island Crêperie.
(4)Jessa B.
This place is amazingggggggg. The cute French man that owns the place is always there and speaking with his amazing French accent. The crepes are to die for! First time I ever had a buckwheat crepe was here :) The ratatouille was delish!!! Cameron Diaz has family on this island and rents this place out every year for a family reunion :) I make it a point to eat here every year!
(5)Mike P.
Seemingly the only French outpost in an area that caters to American, British, and German beach bound tourists. Go figure! Regardless the place has a decent breakfast and lunch menu. The crepes were very tasty and a great change of pace from touristy seafood, pizza and burger joints. The menu is very reasonably priced. Had the ham and cheese crepes for lunch followed by the fresh berry crepes for desert. Definitely worth a stop for lunch.
