What a disappointment! I have driven by this place for months , saw the positive reviews on Yelp so We stopped by for take out . It was lunch time (1:45 ) , Thursday 5-23-2015 . I ordered three dinners Rib dinner , sliced Pork dinner and Chicken dinner . I was told that the Chicken was not ready yet so I switched to a Rib dinner . The sides were good especially the Potato salad and the Macaroni and cheese . The barbecue sauce was excellent but the Ribs and sliced pork were dry , tough and largely inedible ! My guess is that they are open Thursday - Sunday and the pork that was served to us must have been from Sunday . I shall not be returning !

I had Troy's for the first time this week. I had the rib sandwich and baked beans and both were excellent. Ribs were cooked perfect, plenty of meat and the sauce was great. I would recommend stopping here. I will definitely be back.

Troy has very good ribs. Smokey and slow cooked till tender. You'd have to ride up to the Pig Stand in Ormond Beach to find ribs this good. Their conch fritters are a little sweet, eggy and tangy. Not chewy at all. Pigeon pea and rice are real tasty. Collards just right, not too bitter or overly spiced. All in all Troy's wood fired smokers put out some terrific bbq.

So, after coming by on a Tuesday and finding out they were only open Thursday through Sunday, I decided to stop by one more time . . . and am I glad I did! I ordered a pork sandwich, a small order of ribs to give them a taste and some mac and cheese. Everything I bought was SO good, yes So good, that I had to call them up later in the day to tell them how terrific their food is! Everything is made with love and care, very highly recommended! Even the sauce was great!

Troys BBQ is amazing, one of my favorites in the palm beach area! No indoor seating, just a pick up window but that shouldn't stop anyone. Hands down, best baked beans and collards I've had to date. My boyfriend got the pulled pork sandwich and I got the chicken sandwich. A little disappointed with my sandwich because it was literally hacked right off a chicken, bone in all. I spent about ten minutes picking all the chicken off the bone to put back onto my sandwich. Kind of annoying, I've never had a chicken sandwich full of bone before, can't understand the reasoning behind that - but hey, it was still awesome!

Loved it! Finger licking good! My husband's craving for BBQ brought us to this wonderful find! You can smell the BBQ smoking from the road. We ordered the family meal of ribs , chicken and 3 sides. Ribs were tender and sauce was tangy with some tasty spices. Collards were cooked tender and had just the right salt. Mac n Cheese was creamy and with each bite made you want more. Our third side was potato salad which gave a good balance to the tangy sauce. The chicken was flavorful and not dry. We will have enough food for another dinner on Sunday night. So glad we found a place so much like what we enjoyed back in Georgia. We had the pleasure of meeting the friendly owner Troy who was busy cooking outside. We would definitely frequent this amazing place again. Since holidays are coming up, we are thinking of ordering some of this special catered food for our family. This is a must try!

I live in Fort Lauderdale so I am not in this area very often but last Sunday (27JUL14), of all days, I was in Boynton Beach and decided to take the slow road back South and just as I got on Federal Highway to a remote, older section, I stumbled upon one of the greatest Bar-B-Que places I have ever been to, I couldn't believe they were open on a Sunday but I'm sure glad they were. Troy's is a homey, good old fashioned, southern hospitality style take-out restaurant with picnic tables out front, under a big shade tree attended by nice friendly staff. Great food as well - needless to say. I met a couple of workers and the owner and everyone was very proud of what they serve. The owner, who's name I can't remember had that "twinkle" in his eye as though he knew his food was special, prepared with love - and his customers can taste it!! As I was getting ready to leave with my order of chopped pork, mac an cheese and collards, I just had to have a quick taste before getting back on the road. Everything was so unusually good that I went back inside to compliment the folks who work there. I met the owner who is a very genuine person and he offered me some free ribs to take along and try as well. Super great folks with super great food!! I travel the US quite often and I'm always on the prowl for good BBQ, especially secret places like Troy's. You gotta try this place! This review comes from a very fussy eater, especially when it comes to BBQ and if this stuff wasn't awesome, I would have probably tossed it in the nearest dumpster or out the window on the way back home. There's nothing I hate more than bad BBQ. I had some left overs which I just reheated 2 days later and everything seemed even better than when it was first made! Unreal!! I love this place and will be back!

First visit was a good one! Ribs were perfectly smoked and fall off the bone as expected. Mac and cheese was very tasty. They were out of collard greens unfortunately so will have to rate them next visit. Not an elegant dining experience by any means. No inside seating, well, no seating at all actually. Walk to the small little window, order and leave with your food. By appearances, this is the sort of place I would have looked at and kept driving but I'm glad I didn't.

The place looks a little sketchy, but sometimes those are the best places. We were starving. Service was good. Get our food home and we all are digging in, then someone finds a hair. It was good until that point and we didn't drive back to give them a chance to make it right. Appetite was immediately gone.

The BBQ pork was good but having a big piece of pig skin in my collard greens was absolutely disgusting!!!

I guess everyone's tastes are different but I really didn't care for the barbecue or sides here. Got the pork dinner. Not a lot of flavor in the meat or the sauce. Sides weren't that great either. Mac and cheese was bland and baked beans tasted like they dumped a 5 pound bag of sugar in each portion. Also, the menu says it comes with a corn muffin, instead I got a freaking kaiser roll. Pretty ridiculous and a long way from a corn muffin. The lady working the counter was also pretty rude. Came with some friends and we all ordered together. The lady at the counter got bent out of shape because I ordered my pork dinner and then my friend ordered one next. She wanted to know why we didn't just order 2 pork dinners. Sorry I didn't ask him ahead of time to see what he was getting, so that we could coordinate our order with you. After we ordered another customer came up and said they forgot to give her the mac and cheese she ordered. The lady at the counter didn't believe her and started arguing with her about it. Just give the lady some mac and cheese. It costs the business about $0.25 a serving to make and it's not like she's asking for more meat. The customer had to finally go talk to some guy (not sure if it was Troy himself or what) and then he gave her some. The thing that bothered me the most was that we had to wait almost 30 minutes for our food and it wasn't busy and this isn't a sit down restaurant, it's a barbecue joint where you grab it to go. It's ridiculous to have to wait that long for barbecue since everything from the meat to the sides are cooked way ahead of time. We weren't waiting on a fresh hog to come off the smoker either, so I still have no idea why it took so long. Also, even given that, I'm cool with waiting for food if it's good, but this wasn't, so it definitely wasn't worth a 30 minute wait. Seems like this place is living off an image as being a hole in the wall barbecue joint, since people see that and think it must be good. It's basically the same thing upscale places do (it's expensive and fancy, so it must be good), with just a different spin. Not a fan and won't be going back.

Authentic Florida barbecue cooked outdoors with wood low and slow. The pit master is outstanding. The spare ribs are exceptional, meaty smoky and juicy. The meat falls off the bone and melts in the mouth.

This spot is my new favorite food place! I'm here on vacation in FL and was looking at reviews and I'm glad I came across this place. I've been here three times already and will surely come back while here in FL! The food is AMAZING! There are smokers outside and it seems to be a local spot. The chicken is juicy and to die for and the sides are delicious, we tried the yams, collard greens and beans. Anyone in this area, make sure to stop by on Thursdays to Sunday!!

This bbq is real. It's authentic. And what is best is you weren't the one up at 5am to marinate, season the grill and the stock the smoker box for 8 hours. Get a slab of ribs ToGo, sauce on the side. You can thank me later. Delicious

Ribs were overcooked a bit, pulled pork was very good. Ordered coleslaw and saw them get a large container out of the walk-in freezer and pretty sure it was labeled Great Value brand! It was nasty! If I go back if just get the pulled pork.

This is a roadside barbecue, one picnic table outside under a tree. BUT!! The food is awesome, you can buy a meal, or by the pound. The rib tips are suculent little bites of wonderful that are a little cheaper than the babyback, but just as good! Greens potato salad baked beans , slaw, mac and cheese, and sweet potato pie!! I pass by the other places to go to Troy's. For the reviews that mention the way the chicken sandwich is served... that IS how its done in a soul food kitchen, a chicken sandwich has a piece of chicken and two slices of bread, and maybe some hot sauce. I've had fish sandwich other places, the same way, nice little WHOLE fish, two slices of bread and hot sauce, you pull the bones and spit out the ones you miss. LOVE IT!!

Troys is one of the best BBQ joints in Florida. I go as often as I can. The sauce isn't too sweet, it's more like a mustard-BBQ sauce than a red sauce. Highly recommend the pulled pork sandwich, collard greens, and baked beans. All very delicious. The only downside is the size, the place is real small and only has one outside table, no inside seating. Plan to take the food to go.

Troys has the best ribs in the world. I've been eating them for nearly 20 years, and I have never had better anywhere. It's always my first stop when visiting family and my last stop when I leave to get some to eat on the road. He is also catered countless weddings and parties for me and my family with incredibly good results. Can't recommend a place any higher than Troys. When I have six months to live I'm on my bed moved in front of his barbecue ribs stand.

Food is five star. Service is 0 stars. They're just not properly organized. Items listed on the menu should be on hand to a customer that requests that item. I've went there several times and got used to asking what sides do they have today vs looking at the menu. The food is great when they do have it. I have drove off several times for reasons such as no order taker at window. a one hour wait on ribs, Troy went to the store to get some bread and we don't have change. This place is losing hundreds if not thousands of dollars because of basic customer service.

Went back again the other day. Troy really knows his way around conch fritters! These weren't the little conch balls, these were LARGE flat fritters. SO good! Troy's is gonna be one of my weekly stops.

I've been all over the world and this is BY FAR the worst experience and food I've ever tasted! Just want to warn you. I ordered the BBQ chicken and BBQ pork sandwich with a side of fries... The chicken was breast plate and wings/bones between toasted white bread. The pork tasted like lighter fluid and my first bite was a shard of bone. Not to mention there was very little pork and a lot of fat.... I hate wasting food but this immediately hit the trash can and ruined my appetite for the rest of the night :(

(5)Jennifer K.

(3)Joanne J.

Maybe I went on an off day, but the ribs were dry and overcooked. Sides are from Costco.
(3)Edgar F.
This has to be one of the best BBQ places I've ever been to. Highly recommend it. This place is take out only.
(5)Teri D.
(5)Morgan H.
This spot is open Thursday - Saturday / maybe Sunday. I think they keep whatever hours they want. Anyway the bbQ here is GREAT. The side of mac & cheese was prefect too. I got pork ribs and Mac and cheese.
(5)Domenick D.
Excellent ribs and coleslaw. The family pack is a good value. I recommend.

(1)Tacticalgu Y.
Went back again the other day. Troy really knows his way around conch fritters! These weren't the little conch balls, these were LARGE flat fritters. SO good! Troy's is gonna be one of my weekly stops.
(5)Sam F.
@Morgan The place is also open on Sunday. @ David You are absolutely right, this place has a horrible chicken sandwich that I basically threw away, however, the ribs are OUT OF THIS WORLD! In fact, do me a favor, please go back there again, try the ribs a
(5)David K.
