This is a cute little breakfast place and the food was great. The only thing I didn't care for was their hash browns, I can get tador tots at home. But my omelet was excellent. Get there early to avoid the line!

Small, locally owned place. Fast turn around with incredibly friendly service. Everyone in our party of 5 was thrilled with their order. Silver dollar pancakes for our 4 year old. Chocolate Chip pancakes for our teenager. I got a Belgian Waffle and as side of Corned Beef Hash. Dad got Crab Cake Benedict and my mom got Florentine Benedict. The traditional breakfast dishes were well done but the more creative the dish the more pleased the diner! We will definitely be back!

Love it. Good food for good prices.

The food was delicious!! I had the Old Florida sampler. Everything was great- French toast, eggs, bacon, sausage, biscuit w/gravy. My only issue was that it was WAY too hot in there. It's August in south Florida- pump up the air conditioning!!!

  • Christina S.

Service painfully slow and waitstaff less than charming. Two tables that were seated after us got their food before us. I get being busy and small, but we had to ask a couple times for coffee refills. The food is good but this is our second time here and we had a similar experience the first time. Sunday holiday breakfast, they should be bringing their A game, service wise. Also an upgrade to the air conditioning system would be a good idea.

This place was horrendous in every aspect. Ok, I guess the atmosphere was what you expect...looked like a typical breakfast place. The service was terrible. The servers were unpleasant and clearly didn't want to be there. The food was even worse. I ordered eggs, bacon, hash and a croissant. The eggs tasted fake and the hash was actually 2 hash browns that had no flavor whatsoever. The croissant had clearly been frozen and probably microwaved right before they served it. The bacon was edible. My boyfriend ordered the Crab Cake Benedict and that was also horrible. The crab cakes were dry and the eggs were less than desirable. Don't waste your money.

For a place with so little square footage, the Breakfast Shack really makes up for their size with basically everything else. My husband and I have been several times and the food and service were top notch each time. Servers are friendly and nice and my coffee cup was always full which was a serious plus. We adore this place and will continue to recommend it to our friends.

The coffee was great food and service was fantastic can't wait to go back.

Don't waste your time or your money. After our loooooong wait and really, REALLY poorly cooked processed Costco food, the good reviews here on Yelp are obviously from friends and family. Worst breakfast food ever! Not worth the effort of ridiculous details...but a Bolemic reaction comes to mind. Save your time and money, go to Denny's or even Mac D's for a muffin! Believe it, they should close the doors and give up before they make somebody sick. Hawaiian breakfast food my..azz.

The restaurant was understaffed. There were only two servers for the entire restaurant. Taken it is not a big restaurant, but they still needed the help. The price was reasonable and the food was decent. Bottom line: would I revisit? Probably not.

Small casual place that's friendly with great prices. Some great pancake, omelet, and french toast mixtures. I always try and get the specials on the board whic are a great value. So far have had the apple cinnamon pancakes and raisin cinnamon stuffed (cream cheese) french toast. Service isn't always perfect, but they are quick to oblige and make up for it :-)

  • Beverly M.

Very mediocre. I had a Hawaiian omelet with tiny little pieces of deli ham, canned pineapple and provolone flavored cheese (NOT even real provolone). and was underwhelmed. I only tried this place because a neighbor raved about it but could have thrown this quality together with leftovers at home. I recently have dined at other breakfast restaurants where they use FRESH vegetables and fruits and cheeses and breakfasts are superb yet similarly priced. Service was good but nothing else. Will not return.....

Their banana macadamia nut pancakes will change your life. I was home visiting my parents and looking for a new place to stuff my face with breakfast. Yelp came in handy again - as it often does - and after reading the reviews, we came here. From the road, this place looks like nothing special. It can easily be mistaken for an establishment that probably isn't doing well in hard times - it's in a strip mall in a hidden corner, and the font of the big restaurant sign name looks like something you'd find in Key West on every block. We didn't wait very long, probably about 10 minutes, and we were seated in a booth in the back next to the kitchen. The place was packed, including the little bar section they have, and a lot of people came in for take out orders. The decor was aiming for a Hawaiian theme, and even though it was small in there, everything seemed to run smoothly. The coffee was really, really good, and breakfast was fantastic. My husband had the banana macadamia pancakes I mentioned earlier - they were much better than we expected, especially because there were macadamia pieces and not chopped up macadamia nuts in every bite. I had the biscuits and gravy and I had no complaints. It was a good portion, it was delicious and fresh, and the prices are very reasonable. I would've given five stars but the service left something to be desired. I had to ask for my coffee refills, and many times we seemed forgotten about even though we were right next to the kitchen itself. I'd still go back though. I could see this being a regular breakfast place for me if I lived in the area.

So glad we waited! The food was excellent! I had the Florida breakfast sampler! So yummy and the coffee was great as well!

  • Aline C.

Good, service, and price was great. Only suggestion I would give is come early because there will be a wait after 10:00am and the place is small. You will have to wait outside for a table. But it well worth the wait. I would recommend it for brunch.

If you want to feel like you're in a small town diner even though it is kind of a dive. The girls that work there are amazing. The food is always served very quickly and always delicious. you feel like your family after going just a couple times. Kim, Kelly, Sam and Lauren are the best.

    (5)
  • George S.

OK. I'll admit it. Hot coffee and pretty women bringing me breakfast. Living the dream.

    (4)
  • Butch W.

Our little breakfast group does the Shack quite often. They have several specials each day and the place has a regular following that packs 'em in. I usually get an omelette w/ jalapeño peppers and bacon. It's always very good. The coffee is fine and the girls are there often for a refill. Those girls all know us now and they are very friendly. I love the shorts, by the way, but that's just me! Try it, you'll like it.

A lot of different options for breakfast. Nice waitstaff, comfortable environment ....BUT Food is very average, very greasy, heart attack waiting to happen. Egg whites were poorly made, like a previous customer said... McDonald's has better breakfast

I love this little hole in the wall! When I first moved to Boynton and I had family come and stay with me, they were all pretty miffed that I didn't have a good Breakfast eating suggestion (I'm not a breakfast eater, so never sought a place out). Anyhow, I decided to be prepared for the next barrage of family gatherings by finding a place ahead of time. I have been to The Breakfast Shack about 4 times now, twice with family and it is definitely a keeper. It gets very busy in season, and you fight/wait for a seat due to those old early birds, regardless, it is a perfect little place to grab a bite and some coffee. I loved their coconut macadamia nut french toast and the egg & ham croissant breakfast sandwich. Friends and family usually go for something out of the array of omelets, and they are never disappointed. Bottomless coffee is always a plus!

  • Juliana H.

Nasty! Walmart frozen food! Biscuits are frozen Hash browns are frozen and greasy! Toast was burn! Really like bread is that expensive nowadays you can just make a new piece of toast. Service sucks! Stay away! McDonald's has better breakfast than this place.

  • Jamie C.

Great little place in a strip mall. The space is very limited so you can't sit there and have a long conversation drinking your coffee. You feel like you should eat and bounce cause there's a line out the door. I had the crab eggs benedict which was a crab cake placed in between the egg and the English muffin smothered in hollandaise sauce. Pretty good. Everything is priced between $8-$10.

  • Mikela K.

I love this place!!! I won't get brunch any place else. Must try is their pumpkin pancakes that they have all year round. Corned beef hash omelette, Monte cristo sandwich. Love the cleanliness and service. Favorite spot!

    (5)
  • Laurie S.

I was so excited to try out this breakfast place because I always see a line out the door but sadly I was disappointed. Cute but kind of cheesy decor and the small diner feel is great. Service is great. Food is bad. VERY greasy. Similar to breakfast at McDonalds. Every time I drive by I want to warn all the people in line to not waste their time.

    (2)
  • Joy L.

Really cheap breakfast. Most are $9.99 which includes crab cake eggs Benedict. Breakfast comes with a side, eggs and toasts. Great taste as well. Kids loved their food.

Swung by for breakfast on a trip back down South. Tucked away in the corner of a shopping center it is still pretty easy to locate from the main street if you know the address. The inside has kind of an unpretentious Hawaiian Luau vibe. The menu itself boasts a couple of slightly unique offerings, with far better quality than your average IHOP. I went with an almond french toast, which came out golden brown and completely coated with crunchy nuts. My dining partner was also kind enough to share his coconut macadamia french toast which I think I actually liked even better. The combination of textures was incredibly tasty. The biggest negative of the meal was probably the fake maple syrup. Otherwise though it was definitely a solid choice for a morning meal. I wouldn't go out of my way to seek out their breakfast, but it is probably one of the better options in the area.

  • Tony D.

Pretty nice little breakfast spot. I've probably been here over a dozen times. It's nothing fancy, but if you want a good omelette or eggs Benedict, this place works. The crab Benedict is particularly awesome. Home fries are great, hash browns are fried potato cake style (like McDonald's- not my thing). Coffee isn't great but whatever. Friendly, quick service. Really popular with the senior citizens.

  • Joseph J.

All I can say is wow. Great local place with very good food. There were 7 of us for breakfast and they didn't miss a beat. Seated very quickly, handled the kids exceptionally well, and the food can out quickly. Over medium eggs cooked to perfection...and it is hard to do..and everything was very tasty. It is hard to quiet down 5 kids, but good food does the trick and it was very quiet at out table. Can't wait to go back again!

  • Melody M.

I want to give them kudos because they carry vegetarian selections. They have veggie sausage on the menu. The food was good. They have a typical breakfast menu. We had to wait a long time for our food. The wait was apparently because a large order made it in front of ours. So we saw other people seated around the same time getting their food way before us. The waitress apologized and acknowledged it. Another thing I was not to crazy about was that we sat at the bar so actually saw what happens with the toast. The toast sits by the window where the food comes out and the waitresses pick through the slices. Then they serve food and get more. I just think its weird the toast is touched by so many people without gloves because while waiting they are touching other things such as their clothing.

    (3)
  • David B.

I've eaten here multiple times. The food is consistently good. The service is always great! They all work together and with a smile. There's a wait sometimes but it's usually very little time and it's well worth it! .

Great service and food. Coconut french toast is very tasty and so is the surf rider sandwich :).. next time ill try the lunch!

Service was quick and very friendly. Food was not amazing. I've ordered egg white omlettes in many places and I'm fully aware that they're sometimes not quite as robust as regular yolk laden omletts but the one served to me here looked like a discarded gym sock. :/

  • Nina S.

This place is great. I highly recommend it. Service is amazing,my order is always right and it's not expensive. That's five stars in my book.

I stopped in late this morning for some breakfast goodness. There were just a few booths taken, but it was 11pm, so I imagine it is kind of an off time. The waitress who greeted me was friendly. I sat in the back corner booth so I could take it all in. I mulled over the menu.. definitely wanted breakfast food. Settled on a bananas foster waffle and one egg over medium. Also had a cup of coffee. The coffee was just okay. The waffle came out and was really good - super hot and had this banana concoction that was cooked in brown sugar. I think it could have used a bit more banana on it, but it was still really yummy. No syrup needed! My egg was cooked perfectly, too. Last time I ordered eggs elsewhere they cooked the yolk to an oblivion and that made for a sad me. Total for the egg and waffle goodness was $8 and some change. I had a free coffee coupon, so that was on the house :) I will definitely come back. It is a family owned place who love their business, customers and food. I am excited to try out more things on the menu!

There wasn't anything special about this place. It was mediocre food, the place felt dirty. It needs a deep clean. If the counters are dirty, I can't imagine what the kitchen looks like.

  • Christine C.

Great breakfast spot. Good service, good food. Had the coconut macadamia nut french toast which was great, definitely a nice change from average french toast. Got a side of bacon, wanted it well done and it came perfectly crisp. Bf wanted crab cake Benedict but they were sold out so he ended up w regular eggs Benedict which he was pleased with. Looks like a little tiki bar which is very cute. Would definitely return.

Went for the first time for breakfast and wasn't impressed. Had the eggs benedict and the eggs were fried not poached. That's a first for me. The orange juice tasted like it came right out of a can. Hello! we're in Florida the land of oranges. My friends pancakes were very doughy and tasteless. The hash browns were right out of a freezer box, Shake n Steak has a better breakfast for half the price Will not be going back.

I think I may have come to a different Breakfast Shack than some of the previous reviewers...I'm getting teased relentlessly about how I should never pick the breakfast spot again because of how terrible this place was. My first thought when walking in here was "Cute little place!" as we waited for them to wipe down the booth we would be sitting in. Drink order: Orange juice and iced tea, coffee and water please. OJ and coffee appeared later, no sign of iced tea or water. Actually, this is pretty much how it went with the water. And everything else: "Everything good?" "Sure, but could I get that glass of water, please?" "Yes, coming right up." ....... ....... ....... .................................... "Are you ready to order?" "Yes, home fries, fruit, and the vegetarian sausage, please." "Breakfast sandwich with eggs over medium and hash browns, please. Oh and the water when you can." "OK!" ....... ....... "Were those eggs for the sandwich scrambled? I can't understand my own handwriting." "No, over medium, please. And can I please get a glass of water?" "Sure!" ....... ....... ....... .................................... "More coffee for you?" "Sure, thank you! Could I also please get a glass of water?" "No problem" *pours the slightest little drip of coffee into his mug* ....... ....... ....... .................................... "Here's your food!" "Thank you, can you please grab me a glass of water when you get a chance?" "Yep" ....... *munching on frozen and barely cooked hash brown patty* ....... *eating saltiest home fries ever* ....... "Soooo...I guess no water for you, huh? Here, I just remembered I have some in my purse." "Thanks, honey" ....... "How can you eat those home fries? They're like covered in salt!!!" ....... *munching on frozen veg sausage and the two pieces of strawberry atop a few pieces of canteloupe* ....... etc.................................... After that, I decided to try and ask them for water when they brought the check and it FINALLY came!!! All in all, the place is cute but the food and service were definitely sub par. I can't say that there is anything that would bring me back.

The reviews are up and down on this place. We tried it this morning, and I liked it. The staff was friendly and attentive. I liked the food, especially the banana macadamia pancakes. I think they should add another egg and more ham to the croissant sandwich though. It was proportionally too much bread. Add another 50 cents to the price to offset the extra, your customers will appreciate it.

    (3)
  • Maghan B.

If it says macadamia, order it. Their Macadamia pancakes are some of the best I've ever had. Don't expect their eggs and bacon to be any different than the next breakfast joint, if you're a plain and the same kind of person, don't go here. Also, the iced coffee is the only coffee I can drink without any cream or sugar.

    (4)
  • Erik C.

This place is awesome. The Banana Macadamia Nut French Toast is extremely delicious. Came the 2nd time and tried the Almond Encrusted French Toast which was just as delicious. Go early on Sundays, before 10am, they tend to get pretty busy.

I live right down the street from The Breakfast Shack, but we somehow overlooked this place for over 2 years. HOW IS THAT EVEN POSSIBLE?! If you're a fan of cheap and yummy breakfast, you will love the Breakfast Shack. This small hole in the wall diner serves up some quick and delicious breakfast options. My husband and I stop by here at least once or twice a month for a weekend breakfast for under $20. Try their pumpkin pancakes - they don't disappoint! There can be a wait on the weekends if you get there after 9am, but come a little early and you shouldn't have a problem. Enjoy!

This place has easily become my favorite breakfast spot. Their special menu changes often, and I was lucky enough to visit on a day they had the crab cake Benedict, which has fresh crab and a whole lot of it, delish. I've had their other Benedict dishes, and those too are bursting with flavor. I usually order the Volcano omelet, which has a generous amount of meats and cheeses. I also fell in love with their crispy home fries, but in one of my recent visits, I did notice they changed the recipe, which was disappointing in comparison, but still good. I admit that it's hard to choose the fruits over the home fries, but they have a very very good selection of freshly cut fruits, so why not have both? The price to quality ratio is more than fair. I will be back over and over again!

  • Jan E.

I was expecting a lot based on other reviews and I was kind of disappointed. I had the banana pecan pancakes which were good, but the bananas were sort of slimy. You have to cut them into the batter at the last minute to avoid that. It would have been really nice to have a few banana slices as a garnish, but I think that is beyond the capabilities of this place. I ordered a side of bacon and I got 3 scraggly pieces on a plate. My party also ordered a cheese omelet which had one slice of cheese in it. I mean, can you spare it? The coffee was good, the home fries were ok. The service was mediocre, which is surprising because the place is so small and there weren't many customers. We were overcharged for the pancakes, which were clearly listed on the specials board. The waitress seemed surprised, but finally did make the correction. It's possible I was there on an off day, but I don't think Guy Fieri will be visiting this dive.

Nice little diner with a big breakfast menu full of favorites. Not the best breakfast place I've eaten at, and not the worst. The service was good, and they offer a few more unusual items that gain them an extra star off of average.

I absolutely, positively enjoy breakfast food and the Breakfast Shack did not disappoint! I've passed this location sooo many times and never noticed this hidden gem. Worth the little bit of wait for delicious strawberry almond encrusted french toast with warm maple syrup and fresh strawberries. Per the server's advice, I had the 1-1-1: 1 egg (prepared your way), 1 pc of sausage or bacon and 1 pc of french toast or pancake.. (Be careful because the add-ons (strawberries and almond) add up). The iced coffee is average... but everything else is really good.. portion sizes are just right and overall a great dining experience..

I actually created a yelp account because of this restaurant....im drawn to small breakfast spots because they usually have personality and true home cooking...this place was decorated cool like a hawaiin type shack but the food was so basic and the portion was weak and it really included frozen food! the hashbrowns were mushed and poorly presented. and i saw a waitress return food after a complaint to the kitchen and say "just put it with the order i just modified"......saving food off a plate to put on another...oh no thankyou

I absolutely love this place! I was down in Boynton for a friend's wedding and, luckily, found this awesome breakfast spot on Yelp! It was so good that we came here each morning during our stay! The Breakfast Shack has a Hawaiian, beachy sort of feel to it. It's very family-friendly and the whole staff here is super nice and helpful. There are lots of options to choose from on the menu. On my first visit, I had the coconut macadamia french toast. There were coconut flakes and pieces of macadamia nuts with each bite - delicious!! My mouth is watering just thinking about it. On my second visit, I had biscuits with sausage gravy which was just as good as the previous day's breakfast. It's a good amount of food and I believe I had a little left over both days. Will most definitely be back when I'm in the area again!

  • Mike M.

Extraordinary. The food is sublime. Macadamia coconut crusted french toast (made with fresh thick challah bread slices) and a fresh-brewed cup of Kona coffee was what I had. My wife had a simple, yet restaurant-style ham, egg & cheese sandwich on a croissant. My sons had a combination of eggs, pancakes, bacon, sausage, biscuits & gravy - all delivered on time and fresh! Decor is '50 First Dates' Hawaiian. Musac is same. Cozy & small, yet roomy accommodations. If you come on a Sunday, be sure to prepare to wait for the Church rush. The staff turns tables quickly, so you'll never wait past 10 minutes or so. Four healthy eaters for breakfast = $45.00+ tip. Well worth the visit!!

  • Patty W.

Me like! I came here after hearing about it for like the last six months. It's a small restaurant packed with lots of breakfast goodies. The menu has a wide selection and it was hard to settle for one. I got the 2-2-2. Two coconut macadamia French toast slices, two scrambled eggs topped with cheese, and two slices of bacon. We waited on a take out since we didn't feel like eating there. It was busy, but a good kind of busy. The husband and wife who runs it are friendly. When we came home, I almost ate all of it. It was delicious and Chris did the same for his breakfast. I can't wait to go back to try something else.

small but clean, very friendly. They a;lways remember you when you return which is nice. All the girls have a smile. Food is really good fresh and tasty. Good coffee, tea is to sweet but other than that I recommend, on Sundays always goo before 9am other later you will have to wait gets really busy.

Had a wonderful breakfast here with the family. I ordered the crab cake Benedict and was extremely pleased. The hollandaise sauce was superb. Hubby had the Florida sampler and our daughter ate up the French toast while my husband cleaned his plate. We also got a side of fresh fruit and toast. The whole experience was very pleasant. We didn't have to wait long for a table, the food came out within an acceptable amount of time and the staff was friendly. Love the atmosphere as will definitely be back.

I was searching Yelp for a spot in Boynton to have breakfast and up popped The Breakfast Shack. All the reviews stated great food so I had to give it a try. We walked in and were seated in a booth. The inside is pretty small and the servers are running around like chickens with their heads cut off. For all the running around they do, the service is really slow. But the food more than made up for it. I had the International omelette with home fries and rye toast, my hubby had the biscuits and gravy meal and my stepdad had the volcano omelette. We also had to try their buttermilk pancakes so we ordered a short stack. Let me tell you something about this tiny place in a stripmall....WOW. Everything was the perfect temperature, tasted awesome and the price can't be beat. The pancakes were light and fluffy and I wish I would have ordered the tall stack. I will revisit this hidden masterpiece in the near future for sure!

YUM! This is an awesome breakfast place with good sized portions, a friendly staff and delicious food. My only suggestion is to get there early on a Sunday because the tables fill up fast. It is one of 'those' places raft the locals go to so you know it has to be great.

  • Kristin L.

The wait staff and the food at the breakfast shack is wonderful. Our meals are always delivered fast and to perfection. The wait staff has the menu memorized so it is easier for them to help you. Don't wait to go! A great breakfast is right around the corner!!

Went here twice .... FYI, because I read many of the reviews. NOTE**** Crab Cake Benedict is run as a special & not on the menu so don't expect it, maybe call ahead if that's what you have your mind set on! Both times the two different waitresses were very nice, couldn't have been friendlier. The food was good, and tasty (lots of French Toast & Pancake Choices), and they have a diverse menu of breakfast and lunch items. VERY INEXPENSIVE! One small note and general breakfast restaurant complaint ...what's happened with old fashioned Home Fried Potatoes???? These days everyone is taking the lazy man's way out and cutting up the potato in small bits, deep-frying them then sprinkling them with paprika. It use to be home fries were griddle cooked with onions and green peppers .......yummmm. Anyone else catching this annoying trend? Geeeez, I'll pay a buck more for my egg's with the real deal, thanks so much! Hard location to find as it's in a TINY strip mall that you can pass just by looking across the road. Seemed like many regular old-timers that knew the place were there as they candidly chatted with the waitress, noticed the cook in the kitchen was grumpy and not so kind to the waitresses BOTH times I was there, which kind of annoyed me!

We pretty much had the same experience as Deborah Z. We waited for 10 minutes to be seated in a pretty much empty restaurant. Half our drinks never came. Half the food orders were wrong (or didn't come out at all) and refill seems to be a dirty word here. When the check came, we were charged for things we didn't order, things we DID order but never got, and some things twice. And when we brought this to the attention of our server, she acted very annoyed with us, and even asked us if were were sure we were charged incorrectly. The food was mediocre, at best, and not enough to make up for the terrible service. It seemed like pre-cooked or frozen food at most. I feel cheated after all the great reviews having had such a terrible experience. This single handedly started our new Sunday morning tradition: staying at home and making our own epic breakfast experience! So, thanks for that, I guess!

Yummy!!! Great sausage gravy, really nice peppery kick. Biscuits where soft and tender. It is refreshing to eat at a place that knows how to poach an egg the way i like it! The french toast with coconut and macadamia nuts was very tasty, even for someone who normally doesn't eat sweets! Service was fast and friendly, this is my new place for breakfast!!

This is a little breakfast joint right off Boynton Beach Blvd. Interesting menu with lots of French toast and pancake varieties. I chose the coconut-macadamia French toast, which by itself was tasty, but the experience was unfortunately marred by fake HFCS-laden maple syrup. I would go back, but with my own syrup in tow - it makes a huge difference, and yes, I feel absolutely no shame in bringing the real McCoy to breakfast spots that don't offer it. Bring it yourself, or maybe consider ordering an omelet. I wish more breakfast joints would offer it, for a reasonable upcharge.

Our new favorite breakfast spot! I never would have known it existed if it wasn't for yelp..I always check the reviews out before I waste our time and money on a place..thank God I did..This was the best breakfast we had I'm a long time! It doesn't look like much from the outside.. it's just a little hole in the wall in a strip plaza ;but boy is it deceiving! My boyfriend and I both ordered the eggs benedict florentine ..yum! And I also ordered a side of the coconut macadamia nut french toast .. OMG..DELISH! check this place out you won't be sorry! Only complaint is it was hot at first because it was packed and it is small, but it cooled off as it thinned out.check it out!

Came to the breakfast shack the other day and was pleasantly surprised. It is a little hole in the wall restaurant with a few people working per shift. Customers sit wherever they want after entering. I had the corned beef hash which was very good. Pro - food was good Con - minimal parking, service was lacking during parts of breakfast

Hands down the best breakfast spot in Boynton. One of the best breakfasts in south palm beach. Well worth the wait, its rare to wait long.

I went for breakfast on a Sunday so of course it was packed, it was my first time going there so I waited about 45 minutes to be seated. The waitresses could be a little more attentive, but again it was a very busy morning. I ordered the Banana Foster Waffle and I was in heaven! Delicious! It was fluffy inside and nicely crisped on the outside, just how I like it. The forks and spoons were a little dirty so that threw me off a bit. But I'll definitely go back again for the waffles, or try the French toast.

What a great find!!!! We tried this place because of the excellent ratings. It did not disappoint!!! We were primed for the crab cake Benedict, but they were out. The waitress suggested the corned beef hash Benedict. It was fantastic! The hash was tender and flavorful. We also shared the almond crusted French toast. As the reviews indicated, the home fries are well seasoned and tasty. The menu has a good selection, with a great value for the money. This was a surprise for a strip-center restaurant. I am very selective when using a five-star rating, but we could find nothing on which to deduct. We will be back!!!!

One of our favorite places for breakfast in Boynton Beach. Portions are generous and food is very tasty. Coffee is just ok, like the other reviewers have said. Love the eggs benedict, the chef definitely knows how to whip up a light, lemony and tasty Hollandaise sauce, and I love the fact that the eggs aren't drowning in it. They also make a very yummy breakfast sandwich on a big fluffy croissant. Omelettes are large and chock full of deliclious things. Whenever we go one of us orders home fries and the other orders hash browns because both are soooo good. The hash browns are crispy/salty/greasy heaven - don't know how they come out so good every time. This place isn't the cheapest, and service can be a little slow because it's usually pretty busy but everything's made to order, so it's definitely worth it!

Always a good decision to come here! I love the small, homey feel of the restaurant. The food is always great. The service is always friendly and fast. The prices are more than fair. This has become my favorite little breakfast place!

Tasty and simple, this little blink-and-you'll-miss-it establishment features an enthusiastic staff and delightfully fresh breakfast selections. I ordered the crab cake benedict, which the waitress was excited to inform me was made on premises with fresh crabmeat. It was indeed very, very good, with a side of some of the best home fries I've ever had. They were incredibly soft on the inside, but crispy and seasoned on the outside without being burned. Perfectly cooked. The prices were totally reasonable as well. Definitely a good first impression from this place and I'll certainly be back for more.

The first impression was very poor. One waitress to cover the tables. She took a while to get to us and then told us there was a menu shortage. We had to get one from another booth to share. She was pretty bad. The only thing that pulled this up to a 2-star rating was the food. Granola fruit parfait was beautiful. Real yogurt and fresh fruit. Delicious. The surf rider croissant sandwich was notable. The eggs were fluffy and perfect.

Good location small hole in the wall like Kona Cafe. McDonald's like hash browns over poached eggs and no toast. They were busy but I could do better at home. Maybe save my$20 for two breakfast budget next time.

I had the crab cake Benedict per all the Yelp reviewers. Thank you all!!!!! It was great, as I was a little skeptical and haven't eaten a crab cake since going to London since that was all they seemed to serve at the hotel for breakfast, lunch and dinner. This is a great place to go, service is fast and friendly, the locals know the joint, and we were in and out in 30 minutes.

We were excited to find a local breakfast place that was not an IHOP or Cracker Barrel but we were disappointed when we were seated and virtually ignored for 15 minutes. When our server finally stopped at our table we were told they didn't have many menus and we were to share a menu. The server never returned to our table to take our order and my husband and I decided to leave and never return. Very disappointing.

I don't know what else to say but awesome. Kelly is awesome, as is Lauren and the other girl whose name I do not know. I have been here 4 times. I would go 50 times. The girls are SO sweet, so friendly. I LOVE the service. The food is delicious. I have had a number of things including the cinnamon raisin stuffed french toast and coconut crusted macadamia french toast. Today, the cook had to leave early. Kelly and the owner teamed up and got it done. If you are in the Boynton Beach area and are looking for a good breakfast spot, skip the chain places. Go to Breakfast Shack. Honestly, I don't even live here and they remembered me from coming a month ago. They remembered my iced coffee and once they learned my name, they knew it for good. They have a Hawaiian/Tiki theme to the place and it is just a very relaxed, fun vibe. Be nice to the girls and they will treat you like gold. They work really hard, and you can tell. You will not see the servers here hanging out and texting like you would other places. It's run really well and I cannot recommend it more highly!

Wow, this place caught me by surprised. I didn't expect for the breakfast to taste so delicious! I was always a fan of John G's but after coming here, it became my new favorite breakfast place. Their french toast was by far the best.

Decided to drop in here for breakfast and am very glad we did. I had the banana macadamia nut pancakes and they were wonderful. The hub had biscuits and gravy, also very good and the home fries were great! We will definitely be back.

Based on Yelp reviews we recently decided to do breakfast at the Shack. The B' Shack is clean, pleasant with good service. All apparent for our first visit. My wife had a egg dish that she was very pleased with....no complaints. I ordered Eggs Benedict. That serving had a great amount of tender ham. The eggs perfectly cooked. The hash browns were excellent. But....I did not remembering ordering it without Hollandaise Sauce. Literally, each half of the Benedict maybe had a teaspoon of Sauce. Such a small amount I wasn't sure if it was the egg yoke or sauce. So, thinking maybe it was somehow over looked I asked for a little more to complete the dish. Upon getting the check I was charged $1 for that "upgrade" which for a $1 they made a nice profit margin on the relatively small amt received. . Really, the menu should read Hollandaise Sauce optional rather than what it does indicate, something like....."with H. Sauce". Will we go back....not sure.

Two words.... "The Volcano" with the home fries and rye toast. Found myself here on a Saturday morning hungry as hell. The place was packed but managed to find a seat at the counter. Service was fast and the menu varied. The volcano was a taste sensation, spicy smoked bacon plus ham and sausage then smothered in cheese... amazing. Great homemade home fries and the rye toast was freshly baked and sliced thick. Next time I'm close by and hungry I'll stop in.

First time here and the food was excellent. It's small with only 12 tables and hidden off Congress in a shopping center. Someone recommended it and the reviews were excellent so... The staff ways not overly friendly but just there to serve up some good food, which they did. My friend had the crab cake eggs Benedict which she said was excellent. I am not a huge breakfast eater but decided to try something different. The Florida Sampler had eggs, bacon, biscuits and gravy, sausage, French toast and fruit. It was seriously good! The price was pretty cheap and their whole menu looked fabulous. I can't wait to go back and try the stuffed avocado and shrimp tacos.

First time at we are here and first impression is its disorganized. Waited 10 minutes for someone to acknowledge me at the door. The wait was only 15 minutes but we had to wait outside being that there is no space to wait inside and the 4 chairs directly outside were taken. We have an infant, ordered her food and it never came out. Only after we complained did it finally come out. No coloring books, no sippy cup, high chairs abnormally dirty. The food was ok. I ordered the big kahuna and my husband ordered the Hawaiian omelette. I'm glad we tried it but unfortunately we will not be back. There are other breakfast spots aeolian that we feel are much better.

Great service, decent food. good value. Food is good but not amazing by any means. I've been here twice now. First time I made the mistake of ordering hash browns.. if you like the hash browns you get at McDonald's, you'd be fine with them. Second time I opted for the home fries and they were much better. Definitely a place I'll return to.

I wish I had read the negative reviews before I went! There were so many good reviews featured I had high hopes. Terrible. So generic. Wish I didn't eat it. Thought I would be sick after. Long wait, not friendly. Never asked if we had everything we needed or did everything come out right. Just rushed out, dropped off food and left before we could ask if they had real maple syrup. Came back when we were done to drop off check and she barely made the statement "everything was good" a question. It seemed to me she was telling us it was good. It was not.

Was visiting South Florida for the weekend and found this local joint on my trusty yelp app. It's located in a strip plaza and is very unassuming from the front. They have Adirondack chairs out front to sit in while you wait. The staff is friendly and greet you when you come in. We went on a Sunday so there was a short wait. We were a six top that fit into a booth with the chair on the end. The breakfast was very yummy. The kids got French toast which was a thick almost Halle like bread with a good egg consistency, not a dry French toast in between. I got the spinach feta and tomato omelette which was cooked to order very well. I like the fact there was not a lot of grease on the omelette so for a healthier person to eat here this would be a good place. Just without the feta cheese LOL The star of the breakfast that were ordered during our visit was the banana nut pancakes! They were absolutely awesome!! Next time were in the area we will certainly stop into this little joint and grab some banana pancakes.

We went for breakfast I ordered banana macadamia nuts pancake and my hubby ordered plain french toast service was pretty quick the staff weren't friendly at all my pancake was really sweet really sweet i couldn't eat more than 2or3 portion of food is huge and the enviroment is nice and cozy. Overall is a good

Not too bad a wait to get in, unfortunately we waited about as long for the food, which was below average. Eggs over easy were all broken and all over the plate. Biscuits tasted like raw dough, gravy probably was out of a box; fruit was warm, inedible. Only saving grace was the good service.

  • Michael A.

I would give it one star, but the waitresses are really friendly. Pancakes are relatively tasty, but today I ordered the hash benedict. Egg was over-cooked, the hash looked and tasted old, and the hash browns were soaked in oil. You couldn't taste the potatoes. Mistakes happen, and I've had good food here before. I almost never tell the waitress about bad food, but for $9 I felt compelled to do so. She listened to my concerns, but she still kept the food on the bill. I ate less than 1/2. Sadly, it will have been my last time here.

Disorganized. Dirty. Rude. The place was dirty (dust every where {ceilings, chairs} the bottles on the table were sticky and covered in the contents that was inside the bottle, the salt & pepper shakers look like they never been cleaned - the holes were all clogged), the servers weren't friendly or attentive. And the food portions weren't great. There are plenty of other restaurants with bigger portions for the same price.

Solid breakfast spot. I try to come here as much as possible when I visit my parents in Florida. This place however due to its low prices and great food gets very busy during the morning breakfast hours. The place itself inside isnt big, and even though the staff gets everyone moving, due to its popularity the wait can range up to an hour if not longer. Food here is on point, you must try the french toast with macademia nuts and their pancakes, they are so good. I leave this place stuffed and find myself skipping lunch every time. Solid 4 start if it wasn't for the long waits that unfortunately make me drive past it whenever I see a decent amount of people waiting outside!

Thank your yelpers couldn't have found this gem in a corner of a shopping plaza without you guys. This place is close to my house. I got the recommended crab cake Benedict (crab cake w/ egg placed between the English muffin) simply delicious. I ordered coconut macadamia French toast which was sweet but delicious. The coffee was Colombian roast, it was brewed to perfection Only thing that's a problem: The seating arrangement is packed, it's a very small location and it is very packed, felt a little rushed and service could have been better.

Solid option for an easy meal in Boynton. I'd like to give them a 3.5, but Yelp doesn't provide that option. Hubby and I swung in here late this morning when I decided to take the day off from work. I ordered the Island Shrimp Wrap, he ordered the Crab Cake Benedict and we split the Coconut Macadamia Nut French Toast because the reviews and pics here looked SO GOOD! My Island Shrimp Wrap was too salty. It tasted like the seasoning that the shrimp was cooked in (jerk seasoning, maybe?) was just too thick and made it way too salty. My husband liked his Benedict and the French Toast was really good. The primary reason why I docked them a couple of stars was not just because of the salty shrimp. Our server listed off side options for my husband; he chose the hash browns, but what he received were hash brown patties (think McDonald's or Burger King breakfasts). Really? Patties? Everything else seemed cooked to order, but PATTIES?? That is really lame. Also, the television was a HUGE distraction. The Price is Right was on, and it was just too loud to a point where, of the 7 full booths, 4 were turning their heads to watch it. I just felt like it ruined the atmosphere. The Breakfast Shack has some cute, beachy, island decor on the walls, but the booths and the tables/chairs in the middle are nondescript and simple. I'd try this place again, and hope the television was turned off, would not order hash browns as a side, and would stay away from any shrimp dish. The service was A+ friendly, though!

The only reason this place gets a star is because prices are bearable. Told the wait was a half hour for our group of four (fine and reasonable), turned out to be an hour, and there were multiple groups who got there after us and were seated before. Told the waitress/hostess (seriously, they had two non-cook staff for the entire place, which contributed to the awful wait), and simply said there's nothing she could do. Fine. We waited it out and eventually got seated. Strike 1. I ordered the Old Western omelette with hash browns. Hash browns were the frozen, fried kind that take 2 minutes cook. They sucked. I also could have made a better omelette myself...it was uninspiring. I ordered wheat bread with my omelette, and when it came out I was greeted with the waitress slamming my plate down and exclaiming, "We're out of wheat, so you get white" and promptly walked away. Not even asking if it was alright my order was incorrect. Strike 2. The waitress herself really took the cake. Totally rude, inconsiderate, and it took 20 minutes to get a refill on my water when the place was half full. Zero positive interaction with her. Strike 3. Go to a Denny's. Food is of the same quality with better staff that won't have you wait an hour without explanation.

We pass by this place every morning on the way to work and have been dying to try it. The menu looked amazing. I ordered the island shrimp wrap. I ate half of it and noticed that there were no shrimp on that side. The other half had only 3 shrimp. Wrap would have been okay had it been filled with anything other than lettuce and 3 shrimp. They also forgot to include my coleslaw...my coworker ordered the biscuits and gravy, it came with one biscuit and a half! What happened to the other half of that biscuit? Should be called the mystery shack. Shrimps and biscuits disappearing all over the place.....good prices, staff was friendly, monte Cristo was good.

Still my favorite breakfast place. It's a small, quaint place that's low on curb appeal but high on quality. The food is done right and the service is good. Beats big chain breakfast places. The have a lot of signature choices like macadamia French toast or almond crusted French toast. Pretty creative and very good.

Sounded good from all the reviews but not really good at all. Ordered eggs florentine... Hardly any spinach and hollandaise was like pouring butter over my eggs. Hash browns were as if I went to McDonalds. A triangle with no taste. Eggs were overcooked. Won't be back.

Love the sunshine eggs, always get a side of sausage links, which are the best in town, not the frozen reheated kind. Staff friendly, wait typically pretty short. Highly recommend!

Diner, meet fast food joint Fast food joint, meet diner. Not your traditional diner atmosphere but a cozy unpretentious hole in the wall with diner fare nonetheless. Perfect place to go after a late night indulging with plenty of choices, affordable prices, and good service. Wait times run 15-30 minutes weekend mornings since it is a tiny place. Be ready to be borderline uncomfortably close to the other patrons once seated.

Very good food and attentive friendly service. Would give 3 1/2 stars if possible. Opens at 8am not 7am as listed here on Yelp. We were there at 7:45am and were able to go in and wait till 8. Did not get to try the home fries because they were still "boiling the potatoes" which I guess is a good sign that they are fresh. The coconut macadamia French toasts were delicious. The decor is outdated and needs to be refreshed. Will be back for sure.

The food was good, jalapeno bacon was excellent. Service was so-so, drinks never got refilled, parts of orders mixed up, I would have given a 3 if not for the food offsetting the service.

The almond encrusted French toast was good, but definitely not worth the wait. We were told it would be a 30 minute wait, but 75 minutes later we still hadn't been seated. Once we had a table the service was awful - no refills even after asking several times and extremely unfriendly and rude servers. The hash browns and biscuits were definitely frozen and honestly, McDonalds' are better. Would not return.

The food was great. I had the Florida Sampler and my husband had Eggs Benedict. We were both very happy. We kept looking up at each other in amazement and sharing our food with each other because we couldn't believe how good it was. The building itself is lacking. The a/c can't keep up with kitchen so it's very warm. Our server seemed annoyed with life but wasn't outright rude. In the end there is a great chef back in the kitchen that cares about quality ingredients and it showed in everything from the sauces to the quality breakfast meats. I would highly recommend. I live in Deerfield Beach and was in the area for business but I will make the drive again for this.

This place was perfect! The staff was friendly and the food was awesome. I'm such an indecisive eater, and after reading the great reviews of the French toast and pancakes I wanted both. Our waitress was awesome because she said "just let me know what you want" and she made it happen! I got a slice of coconut macadamia french toast and a banana macadamia pancake with bacon and eggs and was AWESOME! (The banana macadamia pancake was the winner btw :-) ).

I came here for breakfast one morning on the weekend with a friend. The place was packed but the service moved quickly to accommodate everyone the best they could. The menu has your typical eggs and other breakfast type options. However, they do have an option for vegetarian sausage. I really love when I see restaurants, especially the smaller mom and pops locations, offer a vegetarian option. The sausage is definitely a Morningstar sausage, which are vegetarian and not vegan. Overall, I felt the staff handled the busy crowd well. I think it is awesome they are trying to accommodate to the special dietary requests/needs. The food was good. If you are looking for a breakfast diner, this place is a good choice.

The Breakfast Shack is a favorite morning stop for my wife and me. It's not a fancy place. It's a small and pleasant neighborhood breakfast-lunch spot. The service is always friendly, and the food is consistently very good. My wife likes the blueberry pancakes, which are very big. One is enough for her small appetite. I usually get poached eggs, grits or home fries ( I don't like their hash browns), and bacon or vegetarian sausage. For lunch, I'm partial to the BLT. This is not a froo froo restaurant. It's a simple eatery with genuinely good food.
