Great Yakitori and a knowledgable waitress helped make this a very nice dinner. Only reason to deduct 1 star was that it was a bit pricy for the portions.

Exceptional warm and efficient service plus very fine cooking and menu choices. Happy hour prices for shashimi and drinks. Known for sake selection n we found a tasty cool one. We ordered two kinds dim sum and too much at four pcs so get one order next time- wasabi pork dim sum is excellent. We ordered the seafood stone pot for main and gobbled it. Felt really good w quality of all and as this was our second visit we are convinced its four stars.

I heard about this restaurant through a daily deal my boyfriend got and we decided to check it out last night. I am thrilled to have discovered my new favorite sushi restaurant in South Florida... and there are a lot of them to choose from. From the stools at the sushi bars that you can adjust (I'm only 5' so being able to raise my seat up is a huge bonus), phenomenal sake's available and the out of the box option of being able to order yakitori, it was one of the best meals I have had in a long time. Never had I heard of yakitori before and am always excited to try something new. We tried a few of the options, such as okra, pork belly, bacon wrapped asparagus, eel (my favorite) and one of the largest oysters I've ever seen. All cooked to perfection with incredible flavors, without being overly salty. They also have Osaka Tuna on the menu, which is something that I used to order consistently at my previous favorite spot that is no longer in business. My dreams came true and I had to pinch myself when I tasted that first bite... how I have missed my osaka tuna all this time and now I can have it again and again! Just when we were ready to throw in the towel, it dawned on me how sad I was that this experience was about to come to an end. Out with the sake and food menu again, I wasn't ready to call it quits. From the appetizer menu we ordered the Spicy Tuna Crispy Rice. Delish and a great way to end an amazing dinner. The owner Ben is extremely informative and we thoroughly enjoyed talking to him and getting recommendations. They do different specials, which I would advise taking his suggestions on as they are extremely fresh; and from the gigantic oyster experience, perhaps a little different from the average sushi restaurants. An added bonus for those that might work late hours or looking for a midnight snack is that they stay open until 2am and serve food all the way through (we asked and confirmed) on certain nights of the week. I am very much looking forward to going back... this week.

Best sushi place in the area. I love sushi and I always look for the best. This is it. I love the tiger roll and everyone always tastes it and wishes they got that for there meal. The price is just right. The staff is very kind and friendly. Love the ambiance. Excellent. Always going there for good quality sushi !!

Yakitori has been a landmark destination in East Boca for those seeking authentic Japanese cuisine. They are known for their traditional Japanese cuisine and extensive menu. Some of the starters are to die for, like the Baby Bok Choy steamed on garlic Sauce with crisp greens and olive oil on top, and the seared ahi tuna salad with fresh tuna and greens. Yakitori's restaurant is centrally located in Royal Palm Plaza in beautiful East Boca Raton. They are well known by the locals who know where to go for great sushi and a relaxing atmosphere.

Not cheap, but sushi never is. Great sushi. We had the lobster bomb and rainbow roll. Also had the salad with ginger dressing. Very good, but small. BBQ was not great. The chicken was really fatty. Okra portion was very good but small. Fried banana dessert was yum! Dog friendly patio...very nice. Service was ok, not great, not bad at all. The sushi is the stand out.

3 1/2 stars, actually. Tonight I was on a quest to possibly crown a new champion in my "favorite sushi restaurant" category. But it was not to be! The champion remains undefeated! (sorry, but it is in bad taste to mention them in this review, so you will have to check out my reviews and find it). Yakitori was not bad at all, but fell short of expectations. We ordered 6 items in total, plus tempura bananas to finish off on a sweet note (they were good). In keeping with my strategy of dining at popular restaurants on weekdays, we came in on a Monday night. Our server was very pleasant, and all of our items came out very quickly. We ordered a couple of things at a time, and the pace was great. Listening to the advice of my fellow Yelpers, we ordered the Osaka Tuna and the Sea Bass Yakitori. The tuna was good. The sea bass was awesome, and the winner of the night! The sweetheart roll is a must have if you are on a romantic date. The flavor of the dish was just OK, but the presentation is really nice. Yes, heart shaped sushi, and no, it's not corny! In fact, any guys reading this should order it without their significant other knowing, and have it show up at the table as a surprise. (score some points!) Rounding out our order were the Red Dragon roll, which was OK. The ooh la la tuna, which was the weakest dish, because of how bland and boring it was, and the Volcano fried rice. Presentation was really cool, wrapped in tin foil, and the top brought out flaming. Again, not a bad dish.

The food is consistency average. The service is horrible, absolutely horrible. The Thai soups are delicious, which is the only reason to go here. Overall, we were very disappointed with this restaurant.

Pink Lady roll is the bomb. The owner and staff are really nice. The pricing is pretty decent too, and it is close to everything. I really like it here and since I moved across from Mizner only about 3 weeks ago, I have been there 3 times! That's how good it is. It's way better than Lemon Grass across the street, and more bang for your buck. When they have a full bar it'll be even more excellent. Highly recommend it to anyone. A

Strictly to the point: Yakitori Sake House (YSH) is a fantastic establishment...if your budget allows. Although I can elaborate on a narrative about how I found this place and how many times I've gone since, it's 3am and I just want to get down to business. My guest and I grabbed a Sapporo and a free small sake, and the ordering began. We ordered quite a bit of food, so here's a breakdown of items. -Miso Soup: Actually pretty good. I know, I know, there's only so much you can do WRONG with miso soup. But YSH is one of the few places I've been to locally that has miso soup prepared with straw mushrooms. -Osaka Tuna: As other reviewers have noted, this dish is quite the appetizer. Prepared by wrapping the tuna in seaweed and then flash frying it, the finished product resembles a tempura crusted, thicker cut version of tuna tataki. Alone, the dish is good, but the sauce on the side is what makes it great. The presentation was fantastic (although maybe a little corny for some tastes). -Yakitori: My guest and I split some yakitori skewers, ultimately deciding on salmon, shitake mushrooms, okra, beef and scallions, and sea bass. I was a little disappointed with the flavors in the salmon and beef skewers (perhaps high standards because it is their namesake), and the shitake mushrooms and okra were decent. But jeez, that sea bass was prepared fantastically. It was seasoned slightly and the perfect texture, even though the sea bass was just a small percentage of the meal, it was in the running for the best thing I ate that night (which is no small feat). -Little Tuna Tower Roll: The roll is pretty straightforward, a tempura tuna roll with each piece stacked with some spicy tuna. Although it didn't blow me away (the sea bass was a tough act to follow), the spicy tuna was one of the better spicy tunas I've had in quite a while. My next trip to YHS, I'll definitely be debating whether to get this or perhaps something with more spicy tuna. -Red Mango Roll: Good flavors and decent presentation, this roll teeters on either my second or third favorite item of the night. Being a sucker for sweet and spicy items, this roll really suited my tastes. However, I found myself yearning for some more mango. The flavor from the slices of mango and even the mango sauce sometimes got masked by everything going on with role (kimchee sauce and king crab were the biggest culprits). Still an excellent roll choice and still highly recommended. Overall, the food was definitely one of the better East Boca Japanese establishments. The service was very nice, although our waitress seemed to have been really and excessively preoccupied towards the end, even though there were collectively around two other tables (I waited for about 15 minutes with my check). Speaking of the check, I know I splurged just a little bit (I can't leave you guys with a review of one or two dishes!) but the bill including tip came to approximately $90. Keep in mind the two drinks, so it wasn't too bad but nonetheless, significantly more expensive than the OTHER Japanese restaurant down the street. Ultimately, at least for this reviewer, it was a great night full of great food. Five stars in all accords.

Okay let me first start with i lived over on the west coast for a year and a half and experienced the best sushi I've possibly had. With that being said, Yakitori is my #1 spot in Boca for sushi or Yakitori for that matter. I've been here Countless of times since my last post, being open till 2am has saved me so many nights after a late gym session. Although i now hear they close at 1 now. Anyway onto the food. Aside from 1 time out of 5+ times Ive ordered a lobster bomb, i was amazed. I made a complaint when i received one that i had felt was sub-par for what i normally received. It's an amazing dish Next the Kobe Youkke(sp?), I'm not a fan of tartar dishes but i loved this dish, and i could enjoy it as a entree. I think its a special so ask if they have it. nice spice gives it an amazing flavor, and the meat is sooo tender. The Kobe Skirt Steak is also a big favorite, Its on par or even better than my previous favorite which is almost an identical dish at Japango's Every single time I'm a gluten to order some Tempura Shrimp and Spicy Mayo, reminds of me this spot i got something very similar from called Kawami in LA. My favorite sushi spot ever. Spicy tuna rolls are amazing, the Alligator Yakitori and Pork Belly are a nice treat, they carry O toro which is pretty nice to try if you haven't. My only problems are they have Blue-Fin Tuna and Blue-fin Toro on there menu in the Ala cart area, but they never carry it. And those are 2 types of sushi i love. such a tease :( Great Lunch Deals so i hear. 4 stars for this spot VERY solid 4 stars.

I haven't found a lot of great Sushi place in Florida, as so many of thema re combination Thai/Chinese/Japanese. I found this place to be cute, quaint, and have really amazing food. When you consider having all this in Mizner Park Boca Raton, you would think it would be uber expensive but they are really reasonable. My fav sushi place for the moment ! Suggested try - Tuna Cucumber roll with apple and ginger. - All their amazing Sakes.

If I could...I'd give 10 stars. So freaken good. Service was excellent! Friendly people + excellent fresh tasting food = best food ever. I'm such a happy camper. :) wish I could live here. I ate an overload of food. I mean, I normally eat a lot and have no room for dessert but this time I squeeze that in too! :) So freaken good. We had vegetarian rolls for my Veg parents. Some stir fry udon noodles, tofu steaks with mushrooms that my mom raved was the best tofu ever. And they eat a lot of tofu. My mom wanted the recipe for everything. hahaha She's one hard to please eater too. We had two rolls, edamame that was steamed instead of boiled. Also the hand rolled spicy tuna was excellent. Had a 5 items from their yakitori menu that I loved. The soy sauce they have was so unique. It tasted like homemade versus the usual you taste in restaurants. Also the yellow tail was so good. I had the parfait for dessert. So good. crunchy bits of corn flakes really adds something to the ice cream. YUM! Plus I had a nice conversation with a few of the ladies working there. LOVE YOU Yakitori Sake House! We will have to hit you up again next time we're in town.

My friends and I both bought Groupon to try this sake house since the reviews were good. It was one of my friend's going away party so we were really excited to be there. The food was alright, not bad but not memorable either. The best part was their lychee sake, small but yummy! :)) I was a little disappointed the manager would not allow us to us both of our Groupons. Our bill for 3 people were over a hundred bucks! (with the one discount voucher included). I don't think I would go there without the Groupon. Typical Boca attitude from the restaurant's management. Polite but cold.

1st time at this sushi bar thnx to yelp. My bf & I started off w the miso soup. Then came the Philadelphia dish. Its ok since it tasted like a roll that we've tried before at a different restaurant. But I must say, WOW how delicious was the Ultimate Seabass! I definitely recommend trying this dish.

This place is awesome. Boca really didn't have any decent sushi, until now. The closest thing before was Morimoto at the Boca Restort, but in my opinion Yakitori is far better. The fish is so fresh it melts in your mouth and the Yakitori (Japanese BBQ) is outstanding! The Yakitori menu has many options and they are all priced between $2-$4. It's like Japanese tapas. I love the fact that I can get sushi and also have some BBQ seabass or scallop to pair with it. It also helps that they obviously put a lot of thought and effort into the restaurant decor, and it shows. This is not another "generic sushi" spot. Yakitori is the best find ive had in a while. Highly, highly recommend!

Groupon Fraud Alert! Went there today with groupon which we confirmed with waitress that it can be used for the meal. Ordered meal and presented with bill. Show groupon to waitress, she comes back within a few minutes and says we cannot use the groupon even though she said prior to ordering that we could. And if we refuse to pay that the police would be called. If a place has to pull a scam just to get business, they have a lot to lose. Now I have to wait to see if I get a refund from groupon.

Had the seaweed salad and edamame which were both great. The cucumber rolls (instead of rice) were really good too. The BBQ tofu was a little overcooked but overall the food was delicious!

This place is really good. The food is different than most Japanese restaurants. They have many familiar dishes but quite a few grilled dishes that you may have never had before and they are great. So is the sushi. And, they are open very late which is unusual in Boca Raton.

    (4)
  • Patricia H.

Some of the best sushi I have had in a while. We ordered 3 rolls and they were all amazing and fresh. The seaweed salad was enough to share and everything came out quickly. They were very attentive (sometimes overly attentive, but I didn't mind) and filled up our water as soon as they got a little low. We ate outside and the hostess gave a seat under the fan so we stayed cool. Wonderful experience overall, will definitely return.

We went here for the first time. We decided to try a sushi restaurant other than one of our favorites. This is now a favorite. The food was delicious. There is a lot to choose from. The dishes offered include very creative sushi rolls as well as traditional rolls and noodle dishes and other cooked meals. I had the lobster and shrimp wonton soup and a Tokyo Roll. My husband had miso soup, a Viva Las Vegas Roll and Hamachi Jalepeno roll. So good. The staff were friendly too, though a bit slow to serve our meal given that they weren't that busy (only reason they didn't receive 5 stars). We sat outside and had a wonderful meal. Can't wait to go again.

  • Ty W.

service was good, although a bit slow for only having 4 people in the restaurant. I found the food to be average, however, considering the quantity of "faux" seafood being used in the rolls such as "imitation crab. imitation lobster" it was way over priced. not very creative overall with the flavor pairings and seemed to stick pretty much to the basics such as lots of tempura and spicy tuna with too much sesame oil in the majority of their rolls. Honestly, i had a better meal at "Yokohama" with a much larger cost savings to boot. Just not worth the price in my opinion.

  • Todd O.

Great sushi place. One of the best around. The restaurant is clean and has a nice design and feel to it. The menu is large for a sushi place with 2 pages of sake choices along with a number of special rolls. Had the dim sum and king crab roll. Came out perfect. Wait staff is attentive and pleasant. Definitely will return

I went here with a friend and she ordered everything so I didn't really have a choice to order anything... BUT all of the things she ordered like the angel hair w/ uni was actually really GOOD! I haven't tried good angel hair w/ uni since I was in the West coast, and you can't beat the West Coast when it comes to Uni, The sushi and the rolls are ok for the price but nothing to extraordinary. The best thing about this place has to be the Angel Hair w/ Uni, Also the service was kind of bad, They filled up my green tea twice of the 2 hours I was there... They kept passing me and seeing my cup was empty but didn't help me refill it. In the end I had to ask her for more before she actually helped me refill it.

Wonderful, authentic, welcoming place. Yakitori Sake House is a great treasure with an awesome menu and lunch special. Even for an inexpensive bento box, the quality of nigiri and sashimi is top notch! For $14, one can enjoy a bento box complete with nigiri sampler, sushi sampler, soup/salad, choice of appetizer and choice of hot entrée. who can beat that! It is actually hard to eat all of it on your own. To top that, there are many other lunch specials, including the sushi special for $11 that includes all of the above mentioned but replaces hot entrée and sashimi with two maki rolls of your choice. You really cannot beat this people! On another note, their regular menu is spectacular! I especially enjoy the Japanese BBQ menu which includes tapas-sized choices of grilled veggies, seafood, and meats. The shiitake is to die for, as well as the scallop! If you are into the more gourmet sushi roll area, these are worth the price! And for Boca, pretty competitive. The service is always great, and they have a VIP program that allows patrons to earn points. I have yet to use mine, but I do constantly receive emails about specials that are just for VIP guests. I have also heard that their sister restaurant, Ninja, is great fun! It is conveyer belt style. I would try Yakitori House first. Go!!!

This is probably my favorite sushi place in all of Palm Beach county. I would say that their sushi is very high quality. The spicy toro roll is their specialty in my opinion. Went here for Valentine's Day with my girlfriend and the sushi chef crafted our 3 rolls into special heart shapes per request. Make sure to tip out the sushi chef if you ask for something like that. I would rate the prices as fair... given the high quality. The reason I say that is I see several other places in the area charging the exact same prices as Yakitori...but they do not come close to the quality of their red tuna, white tuna, and toro.

Loved this place! Cant give it enough stars! The food is exquisite and not the ordinary sushi restaurant! The wait staff couldnt be nicer and their creation were a masterpiece! You will find unusual items on their menu as far a seafood choices and vegetables and fresh as fresh can be! Do not miss this gem in our little downtown of Boca Raton! I personally assure you the best Japanese place around!

I went here tonight with 3 other people. We sat down pretty fast but it took about 20 minutes before a waitress came over. She took our drink order and 2 of the 4 glasses she brought back were noticeably dirty with things floating in the glass. We sent those back and 1 of the new glasses had more black pieces floating in it. Everyone else just decided to not look at their drinks in fear of being disgusted. The food took a long time to arrive and we never really saw out waitress again. The sushi was average at best. We paid our check and left. I would definitely never go back here. If I place cant do something as simple as use clean water glasses then imagine how gross the rest of the kitchen is. I am glad I did not order any raw sushi since I would probably be feeling pretty sick tonight. If you are in the mood for sushi please do yourself a favor and try one of the many other sushi places around.

Hello Fellow Foodies, I am excited to report to you my latest BocaFoodFind- Yakitori Sake House, located in Royal Palm Place, in the former Diamatsu Sushi location on SE Mizner Blvd. I have three words to describe my new favorite sushi restaurant (well, it's actually one word, but I have to repeat it three times to achieve the impact: FRESH! FRESH! FRESH! These guys aren't skimping, that's for sure. The thick cuts of sashimi were melting in my mouth. Owner Ben, who opened up Yakitori after working for a Japanese restaurant in Coral Springs for 14 years, was on hand to chat with while I sat across from him at the highly stylized sushi bar. I was curious about the name Yakitori and what it meant and soon found out that it is the Japanese version of skewers. My server, Tina was so sweet. After handing me the menu, she asked me what I'd like to drink. Being that it was lunch and I had to return to my office, I resisted my usual sushi side kick (sake) and opted for a refreshing Calpico (Japanese juice). Since this was my first visit, I was interested in trying a variety of items on the menu. After looking over the yakitori choices, I announced to Ben that I'd like to try the Pork Belly. He graciously nodded and then suggested I try the Sea Bass and the Calamari as well (his personal favorites). I eagerly obliged. Turns out, they were all delicious, but the Sea Bass and the Calamari were indeed my favorites too. On to the sashimi. Jeff, the Sushi Chef started me off with a plate of Salmon, Seared Albacore Tuna & Hamachi. OMG! Every bite kept getting better than the one before it! The fish was (dare I say it again), so FRESH and such a generous thick cut. I have to say that the Hamachi was probably my most favorite of the three, although it was so close. Then Jason came out (who I'm pretty sure doesn't speak much English yet) holding what appeared to be a prized fish. Apparently it was a Hiramasa fish, flown in from Japan. They say it's even better than Hamachi. After I snapped a photo of him holding up this "prized possession", he returned to the kitchen and shortly returned with it cut into portion sizes. Unfortunately, I didn't get to try that, but will certainly ask for that on a return visit. Next Jeff made me a Little Tuna Tower, which was one of their specialty rolls. It consisted of chopped spicy tuna on top of a tempura roll of tuna, cream cheese and avocado. I tell you, with so many rolls to choose from, I'm sure there's something for everyone! Yakitori has a nice patio with tiki torches and a cool interior and hip vibe. They've got two fantastic happy hours on Wednesdays - Saturdays from 4:30 - 6:30pm & again from 11pm - 2am. Buy 1, get 1 on hot sakes, Sapporo draft and house wine. They are located at 271 SE Mizner Blvd, in Royal Palm Place, yakitorisakehouse.com and on facebook: facebook.com/YakitoriSak… 561-544-0087. Until we eat again, I send you delicious wishes, xo Denise

the service in thisplace was awful....although thetuna dishes-raw- that my husband and i ordered were fresh and delish...we wouldn't go back. i made a resi via open table....i thought that it was a busy place. they were blank faced waitresses and a hostess that was in a mild coma.. the sushi chefs were rattling off dishes non-stop and everything looked amazing...but not our food...because it took 10 minutes to be acknowlegded after we sat down. we really should have left then. we were not treated nicely and the food was really quite good. because of the poor service- wewill not dine there again. BAD SERVICE LOSES CUSTOMER EVERY TIME!!!!!!!

The decor was clean, modern and chic, looking more like a bar than a restaurant, with hip latin inspired muzak in the background. The sushi chefs were chinese, and although the sushi presentation was aesthetically impressive, the flavor wasn't. The rice didn't have any mirin, and if this is what's considered fresh, then the other reviewers haven't experienced really fresh fish. Tekka maki is usually a base test for me, and here they used too much rice resulting in oversized rolls, and the nori flavor was minimized as a result. The sake sashimi (salmon) wasn't bad, but the hamachi tasted frozen. The yakitori sticks were better, while the chicken teriyaki was mediocre. The chicken was soft and tender, but essentially tasteless with a light yakitori sauce that had obviously not been marinated into the meat. The tempura ice cream was pretty good, but overall I have to say that two stars is a fair rating for this establishment.

This is the best sush in the area. Solid specials. Live Scallop, wild salmon, spotted prawn (& head), Ect! Not the run of the mill strip mall sushi spot. Eat Fresh. Let Jason and Tina take care of you. Have a great time!

Inedible - threw away most of a $100 order. This is the first time I've written a review this strong, and certainly about the quality of the food. We were shocked at how poor the food was, and I am referring to the cooking quality, as well as the poor ingredients and recipes. I still want a refund for the food but have yet to make that call.

Very mixed experience. Came for my husbands birthday. They completely missed it and I had to step aside and remind the waitress, which made it very obvious to my husband that I was asking them to bring a dessert with a candle out. Spider roll was so-so. Not enough soft shell crab and too much thick crunchy coating. Served cold. A roll with shrimp tempura, lobster and mango (forget the name) was great. Tempura was fresh and warm. Seaweed salad was very salty and bland. Definitely just out of some container and not made there. Seafood with pan fried noodles was great, fresh, and had a nice light sauce. We came about 7pm- Wouldn't go out of my way to come here, but if you are in the area its best for a very casual date, small family, or place with friends for a few drinks.

This place is amazing! Specials are always on point and seafood is very fresh. If you're a sashimi lover this place has the best seared wahoo and the live scallop is a must try! Try sitting inside, it's better service :)

This is where my husband and I like to go to for our date nights! Romantic setting & the food is amazing!! I highly recommend the 'out of control roll' since it's the most delicious/ most beautifully crafted roll I've ever had!

Haven't been in an original sushi place for along time, so glad I gave Yakitori a chance Ordered the special fluke sashimi with truffled oil, It was 5 star, little pricey but worth every penny, ordered the Phoenix roll, basically Avocado with Spicy Tuna & Fish eggs, no rice nor sea weed, very fresh and very good, also ordered the Long Island Roll, the fresh cilantro was spot on bringing so much flavor. Finally I got the Royal Palm roll, not your average shrimp tempura covered on fish flakes.. Not at all!! It was a big with many flavors but no overpowering one of the other. Will definitely come back and try the entire menu.

I know the reviews aren't in favor of this place, but I must say, my first time here was a good experience. The place seemed pretty clean - we came here for lunch on Sunday, ate raw fish, sushi, salad, dumplings and dessert. Salmon was delicious, like the ones you can get in MIA, sushi was nicely done, and they had a good variety. Dumplings were also pretty good, even though they only had 2 options - shrimp and pork. But all in all, I will definitely come back, this time for dinner cause I wanna have a sashimi buffet. Best part was $14,00 per person.

If I had written this review after my first or second visit - it would have had more stars. However unfortunately we went last night for the third time and did not have a good experience. First to the drinks, my boyfriend ordered a vodka and grapefruit juice. It was so weak, he had to order an additional shot of vodka to put in. If you have read my previous reviews, you will know it is a huge pet peeve for me when restaurants skimp on the alcohol content in your cocktail. We went for happy hour and we ordered three appetizers that were not very appetizing. The bang bang shrimp was very greasy. The Blue crab summer roll was mostly lettuce. I will say the lobster shrimp shumai tasted decent. We then ordered five sushi rolls including the duck wrap, which I previously had on my last visit and was excellent. However this time again it consisted mostly of lettuce. There was very little duck inside of the wrap. It was extremely disappointing. The other rolls we got were average. Nothing spectacular. We got sex on the moon, red mango, super rainbow, and the otoro roll. I can't really say anything stood out. I did bring a few pieces home and they were disgusting as leftovers. My boyfriend and dad got the Kobe skirt steak, which was good, but slightly better the last time we ordered it. We also tried the volcano rice and it was not that great. Very bland and fishy. Overall we won't be back anytime soon :( I'm still on my quest to find superior sushi. Maybe lemongrass across the street will be better.

My favorite restaurant in Boca!!! The whole staff is friendly and the food is out of this world. I love that they remember me and my celiac restrictions everytime and are more than accommodating to make thinks special for me. Xox

The black rice fried rice is disgusting with undercooked chicken and no flavor. The sushi rolls tuna was not fresh. When we called the restaurant to tell them; because we had it delivered; they were rude and yelling at us that we don't know about sushi and they cooked the chicken hours ago (good to know! Hours ago-gross!). She was rude over the phone and when we asked how the tuna should look she hung up on us. Rude rude rude. No customer service at all. Called back again and the "owner" if that's really what she was, was a bitch. Told me to "bring back my food so she can inspect it". Guess the trash got an overpriced nasty meal tonight and we ordered pizza. Will never getting food from here again and I deter anyone else from doing the same.

Okay is right. I'm glad we came here because it was a nice change from the same old same old, but for the price and the hassle of parking... it could have been so much better. Like I've said in other reviews about South Florida, I really do think that I am accustomed to a different flavor up north. All of the sushi we had tonight was fresh and beautifully presented, but it was all very one-note. However, the service was the friendliest we've encountered in Boca so far. Here's what we had- Amazing Appetizer: not what we thought it would be. It is listed on the menu as seaweed salad, spicy tuna, peanuts, and scallions. What came out was all of that, but it was blended together into like a pasty dip with taro chips. The flavor was good on this one, but why was it a paste?? Rainbow Brite: There was so much sweet chili sauce on top of this, which is sad because there was beautiful lobster on top that could have stood alone, but was seemingly marinated in the sweet sauce. It was like candied. The sweet took away from the fresh fish inside. Tarantula: Better than Rainbow Brite, but so rich. I enjoyed it but I used a lot of soy sauce to cut through the creamy lobster salad on top and the generously battered soft shell crab inside. I will say this though- the lobster salad and the crab were both still warm, they were so fresh. I would have taken the lobster salad on a roll and called it a day. Yellowtail cucumber wrap- so so. Too much cucumber. Salmon crunch hand roll and spicy tuna hand roll- these were good, but they put the crunch into the tuna instead of the salmon, and the tuna was not spicy at all.

Loved this place!! Got cocktails and ordered dumplings as a light appetizer. Drinks were DELICIOUS and the food was well seasoned and cooked. On a whim, also ordered the vegetarian tofu "steak" and it paired well with some white rice to make a complete meal. Location is peaceful and has an upscale yet relaxed feel. Staff was very helpful as well!

Let me start off my saying Tina and all of the staff at Yakitori are soooo incredibly sweet! Everyone is so nice and so inviting and you will always be taken care of when you come to this amazing restaurant I guarantee it! This is a fabulous place! I. Can't believe I have been living in Boca for 8 years and have never been until now! The place is very chic and nicely decorated and located in a perfect spot! Sitting outside is super nice, I love it! It's very well decorated outside and just as elegant as it is inside! They also have a really nice looking bar! Our waitress and the host were very friendly, inviting and attentive which is nice because at most sushi places you are usually really rushed and not really taken care of! I had tom yum soup which was the best I've ever had!!!! The warm saki was delicious, the wine was fabulous and we asked our waitress to get us sashimi and just give us a plate of whatever was good! She brought us two plates of the most beautiful and amazing sashimi! We were very happy with the sashimi and I was really happy and impressed by this place. After the first time coming here I was sold, and now I literally come here atleast once a week! I sometimes even wake up craving Yakitori! It's not only my favorite sushi restaurant in all of south florida but it might even be my favorite restaurant in general! I honestly have not one negative thing to say about this place! It is too good and I highly recommend coming to this place! So if your in the mood for great quality sushi, and service that is exceptional in a clean upscale environment then I definitely suggest coming to Yakitori over any other sushi place in Boca! You will most definitely be happy!!

We passed by here looking for somewhere to eat, and figured this place looked nice with it's outdoor seating and very fresh, bright vibe. The menu was huge! So many selections and types of food to choose from. We started off with soups. The Thom Kha Gai was amazing, it was definitely a step above the average Thom Kha Gai (it's my favorite soup, and one I order everywhere that serves it). The chicken was so tender and buttery soft-- not chewy at all. And the spice was just right, not overwhelming, full of flavor, and made you sweat still. I ordered the Miami Heat Roll, and boy was it delicious. Fried and crispy, it was perfectly balanced with the soft avocado, salmon, eel, and cream chese on the inside. Every bite was heavenly! It was hands down one of the best sushi dishes I've had. Lastly, I ordered the "Sophisticated" Yakitori Rice, with black rice and chicken. It was a work of art! I've never had such fancy fried rice before, and it wasn't oily or dry. It had a nice, smooth texture, and each bite was subtly flavorful and robust. What a good surprise!

So the Pad Thai was absolutely delicious!!!!! The red curry was also really good but I liked the Pad Thai better. The sushi was good, not great. I've definitely had better but it was doable. Now, on yelp they give you a check in deal "$10 off $60 of your purchase" THE CATCH IS YOU MUST PAY CASH ONLY. What benefit do they get? Nothing. Besides getting you in the place. But thank god I had cash. But anyways, food was good so I give it 4 stars

I was pleasantly surprised by this place as I wasn't even expecting to go here! Popped in for lunch after our first idea was closed, and had good service and food at an incredible price for the area. I ordered a bento box, which came with miso soup. I was so glad to get the miso soup - it was well done with a good amount of miso paste, noticable dashi flavor, and soft tofu cubes. Perfection I haven't had in awhile. Their gyoza (I got veggie) was really well done as well. I honestly could have snacked on just the appetizers. The tofu was OK, a little under seasoned, but the veggies around it were worth getting the dish for. I had more than enough food, and all for under 15 dollars at a sit down restaurant (I got a drink as well.) Really perfect. Service was OK - a little slow considering how few people were there with us. Definitely a place to try out, and I'm interested to visit again for lunch.

By far, this is THE best sushi place in Florida. I travel for work after moving from NYC and this is the only place I've found that does decent Izakaya food, plus sushi. Their tako yaki is good, as is the pork belly skewer. It is so difficult to find tako yaki in Florida so this is great. Their sushi is amazing and creative. Every time I'm in town, I eat here at least once or twice and try different things. I have yet to have something I don't like. Go here. You'll like it.

Since they are across the street from where I live. There are at least 6 sushi spots within walking distance of my home and I choose this one for their quality, taste, and choices of rolls. They also treat you well there. The servers are happy and you can tell that they want you to enjoy the food and choices you make. I will be back. Keep up the good food.

Always wanted to try this place and o finally did. I was not disappointed. The service started a little fractured bit that quickly made up for it. The lobster and shrimp wonton soup was hot and full of flavor. We had 2 house special rolls and a pad Thai. The sushi was fresh, the sauces just right and the rice perfect. The pad Thai was one of the best I've had. Can't wait to return. -WJ

I used to come here many times. But I decided today i will never going back to this place. Service was super slow(wasn't busy night)! They used to have fresh sashimi! Last time i went here and disappointed with sashimi big platters i ordered(special order). I gave another chance today because I always like the manager but failed!! Tuna/white fish quality was really bad. Sorry! I could't eat it.

This past Wednesday night my boyfriend and I wanted to try out a sushi place we had never been to before and decided on Yakitori. Upon arrival it was a nice night, so we agreed to a table outdoors, which was beautiful. We wanted a tuna appetizer and the waitress suggested the tuna caviar tower- which when it came out appeared to be chopped cat food on a plastic pedestal. It came with some semi-stale taro chips, that were not too impressive. The portion was decent, but was mixed with several different types of caviar that did not add to the dish and it overall tasted pretty bland and it was quite pricey at $15. We also got the seaweed salad, which was good. We ordered two rolls after for our meal- the NY Jets Roll and the Tsunami roll, both were very good. We left full and pretty happy. The service was pretty good and so was the food, we would give it another try.

A few of my friends think this is the best spot in town for sushi, but I think otherwise. The first time I went here the food was great, but the service was horrific. We weren't in a rush that night so it really didn't bother us. Overall, I was impressed with their Toro and the rolls I had. The second, time I went to this place I sat at the bar solo. The bar was filthy and looked as if it was cleaned in days. Very sticky and not polished. Plus, I sat right in front of the entrance to the kitchen, lets just say the view into the kitchen made me want to get up immediately and walk out the door. The floor behind the sushi bar was filthy and the kitchen had dirty items stacked halfway to the ceiling. God only knows when that was last cleaned. Sushi for dinner was just okay - nothing exciting. Finally, the last time I was there we found a small dead bug that was crushed under my plate. We alerted the waitress and she immediately gave us fresh edamame. I personally will never go back here. Go to Lemongrass across the street.

Upscale sushi restaurant, busy Saturday night. For an appetizer we had the beef tataki which was prepared different than what I'm used to, it was in a savory sauce, it was yummy. My boyfriend's seabass roll was very good. I had the red mango roll, it was ok. There were so many rolls on the menu it took us a minute figure out what we wanted to order. Maybe next time we'll figure out something better to eat cause the food was good but from the reviews I read I was expecting to be really impressed.

Well, well, well.... typically, I am a HUGE sushi fan; however, the party I was with decided to order the traditional Yakitori Japanese BBQ this time around. I have to say, it was DELICIOUS! The lamb chop was my favorite, and the beef short rib and chicken liver came in at a close second and third. All of the yakitori was tasty, and we will definitely return to order it again. On the other hand, the main dish I ordered was nothing to boast about.... That being said, I would love to go back to try the sushi as I've heard great things. Overall- good food, nice place, good service.

This is a tricky review for me. My friends, girlfriend and I LOVE their sushi. BUT, literally 50% of the time we order delivery from them they get some if not all of our order wrong. So we have to wait another 45 min or drive there and have them fix it. Now saying that, the manager is so gracious and understanding and hooks us up with free edamame, beer, saki and sometimes even appetizers which is great! (Everytime we've eaten there it's been just fine. Only on the take out/delivery). I'd give them 5 stars for sure if not for the consistent order screw ups. Their service is great too. Seem to have a knowledgable and kind staff. But going to have to give them 3 stars on account they can't seem to get delivery orders right.

Sushi portion size and selection was good. We went with 5 people and drink rounds were slow after 1st round. When bill came they had extra beers on the bill, so I asked for recount and she removed 2 beers, I was the only one drinking beer and believe they should have removed 3. Keep track of your drink count at this place. Food is good , need to keep them honest on drink count.

The sushi and cocktails at yakitori are very very good. I still haven't tried any of the other items on the menu but I can say that the sushi rolls are really good and they have different and interesting rolls. The fish also tastes very fresh and the decor is a little more hip than other sushi restaurants in the area. The sushi is a little expensive, but you are getting quality. They have a pretty good happy hour. The cocktails here are usually very good, they have a saketini which is a sake martini, something you have to try.

Very good BBQ skewer. People are very friendly. Sushi is best. Sometime they give you some small sala or appetizer for surprise. The chef know exactly what you want if you tell them one time. They try their best to take care.

Just had dinner here last night and we had a nice experience. I work at a sushi restaurant so I'm not a California Roll type of person. We ordered the short rib and beef/scallion yakitore as appetizers. They came out perfect and tasted great. As our entrees, we did 2 rolls: The Red Hot and the Hamachi Jalapeño Rolls. The portions were just right. The spicy-ness of the rolls were also on point! By time our dinner was over, we were absolutely stuffed! I have to add that I also ordered the Saketini, which was sweet with a good kick to it. All in all, our experience at Yakitore was great! I'll definitely be coming back...maybe even for Happy Hour!

My favorite late night Sushi spot in Boca Raton! I've been going there since they've opened and find the sushi deliciously consistent made of fresh ingredients! They have great happy hour with the food and drinks! I love the outside patio especially now that the weather has cooled down!

Been here many times just forgot to review... Staff is always pleasant and attentive! Sushi is always fresh! I love their late night happy hour menu! I usually go with a salad to start both ginger salad & seaweed salad are good picks... Have had their bang bang shrimp as an app which was tasty too. I don't remember all the rolls I've had but they have all been good especially the special ones and the one with pink wrapper! Good place for groups or just a nice date night I always sit outside nice ambiance! Decent prices for sushi and if your into sake bombs they go all out!!!! :)

Got this deal on Living Social so we thought we'd give it a try. The place has a great location next to Mizner... The first thing I have to say is I don't care for their seating arrangement. The hostess sat us to the left when you walk in the door and we were seated RIGHT next to a family of 3. We could have shared soy sauce we were so close together. The service was terribly slow and it took forever to order appetizers. It wasn't even busy! For our appetizers we tried the spring rolls and the lobster and shrimp wontons. The spring rolls were nice and crispy on the outside and disgustingly mushy on the inside, ya know what they tasted like? The frozen spring rolls you get in the super market freezer section to make at home. They never come out right. The lobster and shrimp wontons....it was all shrimp, not a piece of lobster to be found. My friend ordered the Angry Dragon roll (I think that's what it was called) and I ordered the Pad Thai. Our orders took a year and a day to arrive and when she bent over to listen to me ask for sriracha she knocked over my water and gave my feet a bath. Yes, innocent mistake...but had to mention anyways. The Pad Thai tasted really good and my friend loved her sushi roll. Constantly asking for water refills really makes me angry, especially when the empty glass is on the table and servers walked by it several times. Maybe she was afraid of spilling it again, who knows. All in all, the food was great...the location was great...but the service was totally lacking.

Went for sushi on a Sunday night. Visiting from NH and wanted a place where we could eat outside. Made a reservation, but it seemed more like luck that we were seated right at our reservation time. Atmosphere was nice and the servers were friendly, but they have a lack of servers and on a busy night you will wait. Took over 30 minutes and a few reminders to get our drinks. Waited another 30 to get sushi that was wrapped loosely and mediocre at best. Disappointed. Watch our for the sushi rolls...they have a tendency to fall apart between your plate and your mouth...which can end in a soy sauce splatter...awesome.

As an avid sushi addict I have searched high and low in south Florida for phenomenal sushi. At best I could only find consistent. I met the owner one night and tried zoo many rolls . The out of control roll is by far one of the best. although they all are pretty amazing. Between NYC, California, and now I finally have a place I now eat at 3 times a week. Please keep up the amazing service and work

OK - I've stayed away for a month and returned to use my soon-to-expire Groupon. I did not drink anything, neither wine, beer, or sake. My head was clear. Ordered sashimi platter, and it was less than subpar. Just not high quality and presentation boring. And $26? You got to be kidding! Partner ordered broiled salmon and knew to ask for sauce on side and only had steamed broccoli. It was ok, nothing more. While the background music had a good vibe and the lighting was interesting (first time eating indoors). Bottled water was $9, which is definitely THE MOST EXPENSIVE IN BOCA. Last time I go there. Many more sushi restaurants in East Boca, this one may not survive another year...

I don't know how anyone can even call this Sushi! This place should be called "YUKitori! We ordered the Shrimp Tempura roll for starters, along with soups. The rice on the roll was falling off when you went to pick up a piece, which is because the rice is stale! Secondly, my son-in-law orders the Red Curry which came out like watery soup. My daughter ordered their overpriced lobster (Angry Roll) which was absolutely DISGUSTING! Not sure it was even lobster! Tasteless, rubbery, FISHY, & actually thought it was some foreign meet shoved in that roll. Lastly when leaving, we were parked on the side of the plaza where the back door is. Hold on to your hat!!! Their door was open. There were garbage cans lined in a row INSIDE the kitchen area with rages thrown every where!!! No hats on the cooks, chaos, filth & disarray was the scene. Absolutely repulsive to think we ate from that kitchen!! WILL NEVER NEVER RETURN NOR RECOMMEND, NOT EVEN FOR MY DOG!

Met up with friends at this restaurant for dinner last night. It was my first visit. And I am definitely going back! The food was just so fresh tasting. And my friends were raving about their Green Tea Mojoto and their Signature Lychee martini. I got the King California Roll and also the Long Island roll. They were both very good - but the Long Island roll was just awesome - somehow adding a small sliver of cilantro made it so tasty! From my friends plates - I tried the Miso Hot Soup and the Kobe Skirt Steak. Which were also excellent. They have such a large menu to choose from. I can't wait to go back and try their other dishes!

Known as Boca Raton's first Izakaya Japanese lounge, I was very excited to go and check out Yakitori Sake House. The have both outdoor and indoor seating, but I decided since the sun was still out, I would dine indoor. The decor stayed true to the Izakaya concept, which I really liked. Although the furniture was very simple, the colored walls and neon lighting set the scene. I was greeted and seated by a hostess immediately, but after that it took a ridiculously long time before a waitress even came to the table to place the drink order. Unfortunately, I still was not ready to order, so it was another long wait to place the order for the food. After that however, the food came out considerably quick. The waitress was pleasant but not very friendly or helpful. There were many menu options, but since they included Yakitori in their name, that was my only option for the night. I ordered the alligator, beef, salmon and shrimp skewers. My favorite was the beef with scallions. The beef was tender and had very good flavor. Delish! I also enjoyed the alligator, although it was a bit greasy. The shrimp was good too, but I could have done without the salmon. The Volcano Fried Rice was pretty typical. It was better than the greasy takeout you received from most South Florida restaurants, but it was a bit too mushy for me. Overall, the food was good but was pretty forgettable. My experience at Yakitori Sake House wasn't the worse but the place had the potential to be so much greater, so I was a bit disappointed.

I was really excited to try this place and was met with a somewhat disappointing meal. This spot is located a bit far back in the Royal Palms plaza so it's not visible from Federal but more so if you turn on to Mizner Blvd(?) from Federal which takes on a little back road. I think it's near Table 42 and the Wishing Well, I could be wrong, better mapquest it. In any case, parking is kind of limited. So we came in and were greeted by the host and sat immediately. The menu in itself is quite extensive and almost a bit overwhelming. So many choices, where to start?! There were items I have seen time and time again, I worked in a few sushi bars in my hey day. So we opted for a lychee sake and kirin to start. A bit pricey I must admit; 10 dollars for maybe a 1/2 cup of flavored cold sake. For food we started with beef yukke, some yakitori, & blue crab tartar. The beef yukke was the definite stand out. It was prepared with a quail egg and the texture was not choppy but more like a dice, almost minced? That didn't bother me too much and I liked the balance of spices. The yakitori was nice too. We ordered sea bass, okra, shitake mushrooms, squid, and alligator I think. Same marinade on all the choices, but nothing crazy memorable. The blue crab tartar was a toss up. The first few bites were interesting but then it began to take a "I think it tastes like a spread I would buy from Publix" situation. For our main meal with chose 1 roll and a surprise roll choice from the server. I don't remember the names, I am so sorry. The first roll we had was ehh. I am not crazy about ell sauce and it was a touch too sweet for me but my company seemed to like it. Then came out the surprise roll, which was a souped up spicy tuna roll. The tuna was all sorts of minced inside the roll with jalapenos and crunchy flakes. While it wasn't awful, what really made me sad was the sushi rice. Maybe someone partied too hard last night and put just a little bit too much water in the cooker. I have had awesome rice and this was downright shameful. The rice on the sushi was so soggy and mushy that chewing the roll bite was just texturally wrong. Yes, food ends up as mush eventually as you chew it. but if you have ever had good sushi rice, you know what I am talking about. We were so stuffed by the end of it all. The server knew we were ITB and we chatted a little bit about places to eat and she was a sweetheart but I never got her name. She was on point with everything and my only gripe was that she brought us dessert and we didn't ask for it. We vocally confirmed we were really full and weren't going to order anything else. Next thing you know, PLOP fried ice cream on her. Such a nice gesture on her part, but did she not hear it when I said that I was really REALLY full. We poked and prodded and had a bite each but could barely enjoy the complimentary dessert. I would have rather had an ITB discount and tip her more on that versus her kind gesture. I really wanted to tip her more that night but couldn't bring myself to it. The manager sulked around the place and asked us how everything was once but then went back to sulking. All in all, the bill with tip came out to be shy of 100 for the both of us. Eek! We were really hungry but I have had meals that cost half the price and were just as delicious if anything better. I say give Yakitori Sake House a shot, just because. It's good but it may hurt your wallet a smidge.

This restaurant has a large menu with tons of variety. I will save you some time and focus on what I feel are the best dishes. The Cajun Lobster Roll ($17) was outstanding as it was fresh cooked New England lobster on sushi rolls. This is actually better than the Lobster bomb that is tempura fried. I really loved this dish and highly recommend it to everyone. The Little Tuna Tower roll ($12) was also extremely good and large. I also tried the tofu ($3), scallops ($4) and beef ($5) appetizers from the BBQ appetizer menu, but these were pretty average and I really can't recommend any of these when the sushi dishes are far superior. The shrimp and scallop dumpling ($7) was fresh and tasty and was, by far, the best appetizer I had. For drinks, I ordered the hot sake large ($9) and it was typical of most other restaurants. They had a large menu of cold sake options (considered to be superior to hot sake) that were pricy and because I am not an expert, chickened out and stuck with the hot sake. I wish they offered a flight sample of 3 or so cold sake so I could learn the differences. All in all, this place is very good and I will be back. The menu is huge, so there are tons of other offerings. I personally think this place is best for sushi and I would probably focus on those offerings rather than the other options.

One of my go to places. The best Tom Yum soup that I've ever had. Great specials, just stay away from the toro apps. over priced, and well, tasteless. Not so with the other specials. The Japanese skewer menu is great, as is the dim sum, but order early as they take 15 min. Great, attentive staff, and nice sake menu to boot.

Great bento boxes. Especially since they offer it on Saturdays too. I really like the fact that their miso soup has enoki mushrooms. It just shows that they put a little extra effort into their soup. Even the salad with ginger dressing was better than most, The dressing was really good and it didn't separate into solids and liquids like other restaurants. I'm glad to have found a place where they sell yakitori even though they are a bit over priced. The sushi and sashimi were good. I can't say that they are better than most places but comparable and fresh. I wish they gave you a little white rice with the bento boxes where you have the Thai red curry or the Thai basil chicken. We had to order a bowl of white rice for $2! the little bottle of Coke was $3 each and they can really add up.

The place located in a nice area, and most of time we were sitting outside. the food is great and they have the best sashimi in town. I ordered the out of control roll and lobster dynamite roll which both are amazing. The server who serve us is so sweet and helpful. I will go back with my friends again.
