Used to love this place. It has gone down hill recently. The food is just ok and over priced. The service is even worse, slow and rude. We're not ever going back.

Figured we would try the wood fired pizza for a change. This shop is small and nothing special in way of ambiance. Servers very nice and knowledgable. We each had a regular sized pizza. My daughter a margarita, my hubby had sweet sausage with green peppers and I tried the shrimp scampi. Nothing special in the least - the shrimp were small and my guess is frozen. Not even fresh mozzarella for the prices paid. I had a glass of hot wine and my husband a beer, my daughter had a coke. The bill was $78 for 3 pizzas and drinks. The pizzas were fresh made but not outstanding in any way. Definitely not worth the prices they charge.

First of all, we went with a Groupon that they were no longer honoring and gave us some other "deal" that would have cost us a lot more money. The pizza was really oily and greasy...and expensive for what it was. Will not be going back.

Ambience is nice. Small and quint. But the service is a little slow for my taste (pun intended). Pizza wasn't as good as I anticipated.

Not what it used to be...the food quality has been steadily going down as the prices steadily go up. Used to dine or take out 1-2x per month, we keep hoping it will return to its previous quality, but only go there once every 3-4 months and only because it is more conveniently located than other coal/wood fired pizzerias.

This place isn't worth your time or money. Skip it and head over to an Anthony's or CPK -- even Domino's would be a better choice. It was empty during lunchtime upon my visit, that should've been bad enough of a sign. The food isn't fresh or done correctly, and the service isn't friendly.

Probably some of the best pizza I have ever had. EVER! Very interesting choices of toppings, including shrimp! Very gourmet! Highly recommended!

Good stuff! For the people saying their pizza was burned, COME ON! This is wood fired pizza, and it's supposed to be well done on the bottom with the flavor of the fire. If you think your pizza was burned, then wood fired pizza is simply not for you. We visited Steve's as part of a group, and I must say that service was great. Typically when dining in groups at many places, service lacks and gets frustrating. However, our group of 13 received good service, our orders were correct, and best of all the food was great! Try the garlic knots if you want something a little different. They don't actually look like knots though. They're more like garlic cheesy rolls, but they are soooo buttery and garlicky and one order gets you 6 pieces! Be sure to split this with a group, as it's way too much for just a couple of people, especially if you're also ordering pizza. This place is located in a strip mall, and the signage out front only says Wood Fired Pizza, but be assured that it's Steve's. Good pizza, good service, and a HUGE menu that includes salads, appetizers pastas, soups, and of course pizza! We'll be back.

We got a Groupon for here and I was a little concerned because of some of the negative reviews. When we first arrived there was no one in the restaurant and I was getting nervous. The wait staff was very attentive and friendly and more customers started arriving filling up the restaurant. We started with the House Salad with the balsamic herb dressing. The salad was more than enough for the 5 of us. Mir had fresh mushrooms, red onion, carrot, red pepper, and tomato. Very fresh and the dressing was really good. I shared a regular gluten free pizza with caramalized onions and mushrooms. The gluten free was fresh dough and we liked it. The rest of the table shared a large pizza with pepperoni and mushrooms. They finished the whole pie. I will definitely go back.

Wow...good pizza for anywhere, exceptional pizza for FL (land of horrible bread and 'za). Crispy brick oven bottom with chewy texture, nice sauce/ cheese ratio, not oily. Plenty of standard fixins available at every table. Service was personable and professional, very cute interior, a bit small but cozy. Puttin' Bella Nonna on a run for the money!

Lots of veggie pizza toppings. Crispy crust pizza made to order. Generous portion for Greek salad. Yum.

Horrible place, we were ignored by two waiters, completely. When the guy at the oven finally asked us if we were being helped he lost interest very quickly after being told it would be for take-out. It was very obvious he was trying to run us out, why, I will never understand. Didn't even get to taste the food, now don't really want to. Will never return, my tip to you reading this go to Dominics half a mile away. Been going there for years, always friendly, good food.

Pizza is awesome and the calamari is to die for!!! My six year old loves this place!!

Not acceptable. Have been here a couple of times. Pizza tastes burnt and over cooked. I know it is a coal fired hot oven but the taste was horrible. Service poor and not attentive. Pizza is way way overpriced. Go to Brooklyn Boys nearby or Stella's for DELICIOUS PRICED RIGHT PIZZA. Pass this one by.

took my review down. ill just right another... i dont like eating my dinner with a loud drunk at the counter being rude to me because i asked someone to clean the dirty table they wanted me and my son to sit at. never ate because steve stood up for the drunk... guess the beer pays more than the food. bESIDES, GUESS MOST WHO ACTUALLY HAD THE PIZZA THINKS IT SUCKS... GO TO ANTHONYS ON POWERLINE COAL FIRE AND MUCH BETTER!!!!!

Amazing pizza and superb service! It isn't often that the owner of such a great restaurant interacts with the lowly public but Steve is my new favorite cool and person. He's got an amazing menu and some great servers! Will definitely be back!!

Food: 3 Stars its decent enough there are better options in the area I'd say it holds its own just nothing to write home about but nothing terrible either. Price: Way too high for what they offer. The value of the food just isn't there. Service: -100 Stars Seriously cant imagine an establishment with worse customer service etiquette than this one. Total: -97 stars. Would NOT recommend.

The radio station was on a great classic rock mix; Rolling Stones, Cat Stevens, etc. That was pretty much the only real positive. My experience started on a Friday afternoon, my family and I got here for lunch at around 1:09pm. It's important to know the time because when we got there, their was a sign on the door saying they would open at 1pm that day. While we waited around and talked about where to go to next the owner pulled up, and invited us in. He was very nice and gave us a $15 credit to the restaurant to come back. So we came back on a Sunday evening for dinner, the place was practically empty, but the few people who were in it were a much older crowd. It's a small place, but the waiter told us to sit anywhere; it seemed there were only two workers that night, the waiter and the chef. We ordered the Wood Fired Wings, a plain pizza, and a Jalapeño & Sausage pizza. We waited a very very long time. Our waiter was nice, but unfortunately service gets low marks for being incredibly slow. It took about 50 minutes for our pizzas and appetizers to come out. We even saw a few other people being told a few minutes, and then they had to wait for their takeout for almost half an hour. It was really just unacceptable the amount of time it took for the food to come out. Back to the food, the wings were just okay; they had a really flavorful rub on them, however after you ate the skin, the chicken itself was no big deal. The Jalapeño & Sausage pizza was good, very spicy with the fresh jalapeños. The plain pizza was tasty as well, very thin crispy crust, and you could tell it was made in a very hot oven. Both pizzas were good, the wings were just okay; and for the prices, it was about on par for a restaurant in Boca Raton, which is to say pricy. Without the coupon, it was about $45 for two pizzas and a small order of wings, yikes! Just on another note, they had two TVs there, one was turned off, and the other one was on, but had incredibly terrible reception, the screen kept breaking up. Not a great place to watch a game or the news. There just is no real reason for me to come back here. I've come here twice, only got to actually eat once, and still feel like I've spent enough to eat three times. Oh Steve's Wood Fired Pizza, I wanted to like you more, but just too many issues need to be resolved before I come back or recommend this place to anyone. It's nested inside a shopping plaza and almost impossible to find at night if you're not looking for it. I bought the Groupon and it turned out to be a little diamond in the rough. Nothing fancy... just cozy, intimate, and friendly! Delicious wood fire pizzas, calzones, salad, and cheesy bread etc... Just a disclaimer, if you haven't had wood or coal fire, usually it's pretty charred on the crust. And that's exactly how I like it! Customer service was beyond what I expected. Everyone checked in with us to see how our meal was. Even the owner chatted us up, which was nice. Beth's Tip: Better than the local competitors, skip the nearby chain places.

The pizza was good, thin crust, well-done in their 800-degree coal-fired oven. Service was efficient, though I did notice two other parties being asked to move to smaller tables to accommodate larger groups. Granted, the dining room is somewhat small and seating can be somewhat of a juggling act on a busy night, but no one deserves to be asked to move in the middle of their meal. The staff should have guided them to a more appropriate-sized table when they walked in the door rather than saying "Sit anywhere you want!" without the caveat: "... but you may be asked to move later." Luckily, that did not happen to us. The only disappointment was the prices - our party of four had the following: 2 large pizzas from their specialty menu (one pepperoni, one with sausage, peppers, and mushrooms), 1 large Greek salad (shared), 1 soft drink, and 6 glasses (bottles or carafes not available) of wine (house Chianti). The bill was $90. Yes, it was good, but that seemed a little steep given the size of the pizzas. We ended up taking nearly a whole pizza and some salad home, but two hungry adults could easily consume one large pie. They have two flat screen TVs in the dining room. The night I visited, one was tuned to CNN, the other had ESPN. The volume was off on both. I would go back if someone else was paying. I would take my own money elsewhere where I could get a better value.

My friend had a coupon for free pizza ($10.99 value) so we stopped by this afternoon and got the red mushroom pizza. On paper it sounded great- mushrooms with tomato sauce and fresh oregano. In actuality the pizza came out with severe 3rd degree burns all over its crust -- the entire bottom and sides were charred black. I noticed that there was a disclaimer on the menu that read "Due to our wood ovens, the bottom of our crusts may be a bit blackened". Ya don't say! But putting a disclaimer on the menu doesn't really excuse burnt pizza. Both of us were wondering why they couldn't just bake the pizza for a shorter amount of time? Oh well, while they figure that out I'll be eating my pizza from Brewzzi, Annie's, or even CPK.

My wife and I are from the New Haven area where the world famous Pepe's is located. We decided to try Steve's because we love coal, wood, and brick oven pizza. While the pizza was cooked perfectly, the pizza taste itself was bland at best. The sauce was the culprit. No taste whatsoever. I also can't believe how they can get away with charging $17.50 for a large 6 slice pizza with 1 topping (any other place it's a medium). If you're looking for good pizza, Anthony's is 10x better than this place, and you get way more food. The value just isn't there.

False advertising and Steve himself said everyone is deceptive with ads. Buy one get one free to Steve means pay $29 for two pizzas while he is trying convince you to get into his reward points program. Like he wouldn't cheat u there too. Buy one pizza for $18 get $10 off the second is not get one free Steve. Plus Anthony's is far superior. You wont cheat me again Steve and not every business that advertises cheat their customers.

We go to Steve's every time we vacation in the area. The staff is friendly and welcoming. My husband and I share a pizza and pasta dish sometimes we also do an appetizer. We have always been happy with the food. Pizza is thin crust and well done we have tried several different pasta dishes and have been happy with all of them. We were joined by a lactose intolerance guest and he had many options too. A must try is the mozzarella sticks, they are fantastic. I highly recommend Steve's!

After reading a good review for Steve's in the Sun-Sentinel, we decided to give it a try. Had to ask twice to have the table cleaned off. Our waiter forogt to bring the Italian Wedding soup but apologized, The soup was really good, hence the two star rating, otherwise I would have given 1 star. They were out of the appetizer we wanted to order and the same for the beer in which he apologized again. We ordered the chicken parmesan pizza and waited forever although the restaurant wasn't busy at all. Waiter kept apologizing for the wait and kept telling us it would be right out. It finally arrived and it was basically a cheese pizza with some grilled chicken thrown on after it was taken out of the oven. The crust was so charred that it was unedible and the middle of the pizza was way undercooked, cold and doughey. The waiter apologized for the long wait and said that they had to remake it a third time because they screwed up the first two. We overheard him apologizing to the table next to us because he forgot to bring out their salad. We were eating our first slice of pizza and the waiter asked if we were ready for the check. We said that we would take the check and a to go box. Will not go back and would not recommend.

My husband and I are always on the lookout for great New York-style pizza, and came accross Steves Wood Fired Pizza one afternoon. We ordered pizza and wings. The pizza was really good! The wings were good but had a bit too much parmesan cheese to my liking. I would definitely go back for the pizza, though.

Six of us went to dinner on a Sunday night here for the first time with a Groupon. The place was busy and located in a plaza at the corner of Lyons/Glades. Our waiter was a nice young guy, however, I think it must have been his first week on the job. We ordered 5 pizzas, and waited about 20 minutes for them to arrive. When they did, only 4 pizzas came out (he forgot to put in one order), and one pizza was not what was my husband originally ordered. (OK, if they missed up 2 pizzas out of 5, not so good). The food was average although my brother-in-law loved his meat-lovers pizza. Service was really slow. We had to keep flagging down our poor waiter to refill water and soda classes. Prices are high compared to some other pizza places. Although I can appreciate that this family owned restaurant is trying hard, I think I stick with Mellow Mushroom in the future.

Stopped here for a quick bite on the way to Disney World. Lunch time, and no one here. Empty (although one other table came in at some point later). Despite the menu, they had NO whole wheat pizza. The chef is also the waiter. Definitely saving on wages! As for the food, we started with the Gorgonzola walnut salad; romaine with balsamic vinaigrette and chopped walnuts. The salad was HUGE but simple; just those three ingredients (lettuce, walnuts and cheese). Salad was very tasty, with crunchy walnuts, plenty of cheese, and fresh romaine. Dressing was delicious as well. For pizzas, my son had a cheese-less ham and pepperoni pizza; he didn't love it, and took the ham off (I tasted the ham and it wasn't great). He liked the pizza itself, but I won't say he was crazy about it. Our pizza - veggies and cheese - was above average, but not amazing. We enjoyed it, and it came out properly cooked, but it felt lacking. Overall, a decent place with better salad than pizza...

I got a weird vibe when I walked in this joint and I still can't explain why. Maybe it was because you would barely notice while driving past this place or because the tables are crammed so close together in front right all with a few of the big oven. They have a pretty solid menu complete with salads for two, pizza and calzones but the thing that stuck out most was the price. We went here because I bought the Groupon for this place was shocked at personal sized pizzas for one starting at 14 bones. What kind of crack are they smoking to charge that much? If you're dining alone and want a pizza, that's basically highway robbery. We ended up getting the medium sized pizza which was great (mostly due to the pepperoni and crust) and we each had a slice which left us with two to go. I guess it just depends on how much money you want to spend and how much you want to eat. I loved loved loved the pizza but wont be going back here unless I have a sugar daddy who's paying.

Steve's serves some of the best pizza I've ever had. Incredibly fresh, well prepared toppings, wood roasted flavor. Unlike most pizza shops, Steve's gives you wings! as well as meatballs, massive mixed salads, pasta dishes, calamari and tons of delicious reasonably priced appetizers (many under $5). If you want fresh, expertly prepared food at good prices in a friendly casual setting, look no further than Steve's!

I can appreciate that this family is trying hard. They are super friendly people who have customer service in mind. Unfortunately, the food they make is between sub-par to average. I have had better pizza in most places. Also it is severely understaffed. There's one server and the chef who will come to your table as the other server. Not terrible, but definitely something I wouldn't return to.

  • Jen D.

Service has become terrible there. I've had the older female server the last 2 visits and she should not be a front of house employee. Was very distracted. Took our order without writing it down and then immediately took another table's order. Of course both tables received the wrong the wrong pizza. I'm 7 months pregnant and had to wait 50 minutes for food. Ridiculous. Never coming back here.

Great little pizzas can be found at Steve's in the back-end of this Boca shopping center. As the name implies, the pies are wood fired, thin-crusted, and very tasty. Had the BBQ chicken pizza and loved every bite.

I was pretty disappointed in the service. Not our server's fault -- they seemed to be very short-staffed. It took us over an hour for a regular (small) pizza and garlic knots. Now, the food was decent, but the service really soured us on this place.

Pizza

Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.

Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.

Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
