Italian Cuisine
The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.
Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.
If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
Pizza
Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.
Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.
Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.

Great pizza ........worth a special visit to the mall for. My new place. JB

I've had a lot of good experiences with pizza since I moved to south Florida. This one is definitely a surprise because it's at the Boca Town Center's food court. Yes, good pizza served in a mall's food court! For the longest time, my boyfriend has been raving about this place and says it's his favorite. I can't doubt him because he knows how go eat! The only thing that took me this long to finally try it is because I live almost an hour away, but I finally was in the area and my boyfriend did not forget to remind me about this place. The verdict? Authentic Italian pizza, simple, quick and yummy! The only reason why I gave this place a 4/5 stars... I only tried their margherita pizza. I want to try the other ones on their menu to really get that "WOW" factor.

This is one of my favorite places in Palm Beach County for authentic Italian pizza. It's among the best pizza you will find here. I love, too, that it is owned by Italians. It's also super-convenient because it's in the heart of the Boca Raton Town Center. That makes it a great place to eat on days when you're there shopping, but it's worth the trip anytime.

This is the best mall pizza I have ever had. It was reasonably priced for neapolitan style pizza. The magherita was so simple and so good for $6. Don't bother getting the frozen drinks. That was just cheap syrup in the frozen ice machine, Overpriced for what you were getting but we were thirsty. This is perfect after shopping for a couple of hours in the mall.

Neapolitan pizza in the mall? I love this style pizza. I was first drawn in by the Fiat wondering what restaurant this was, surely it had to be European. Sure was. I was elated to see it was Neapolitan pizza. I ordered a margherita pizza with extra basil. 5 Stars for mall food. 4 Stars for outside of the mall, and that's how I will rate them; Scuola Vecchia in Delray get's my 5 Stars. It's nice to see something other then run of the mill chains in a mall food court; and while I just moved here, the Boca Mall does a great job at that. The only thing I found a bit odd was that Pummarola was right next to another italian pizza serving establishment; surely one of them has to be hurting the other...

They make it right infront of you, perfect amount of cheese really good sauce and excellent price for the size of the pizza. You could easily share the standard personal size. The pepperoni they use is a spicy sausage type and its delicious. Ill definitely be back.
(5)Michelle S.
Hot, fresh, fast, made to order and under $6! I had the margarita pizza. The crust was perfectly chewy and the cheese, sauce and basil flavorful.
(4)Florida G.
Very good pizza, albeit a bit soggy. Pretty good pasta. Small portions for the mall food price point, but fair. They get a 3 and not a 4 because the rice ball had a TERRIBLE, rotten after taste. All that food sits there all day...not sure how fresh it can be. Everything is microwaved. If you go here, I recommend getting something that's made to order...ie. pizza or pasta.
(3)Elaine C.
I have absolutely no complaints about this restaurant. I can't believe there's food this good in a mall food court! I haven't had the pizza yet, but everything I did have was full of flavor. I've tried the fettuccine Bolognese, caprese salad, and arancino, which is a rice ball. You get generous portions of pasta, and it's not drenched in sauce, like most restaurants. The mozzarella cheese on the caprese salad tasted so fresh, and paired well with the delicious tomato. If you go, say hello to Loris, Simona, and Luca. They run the restaurant professionally and are so friendly!
(5)Michelle M.
I've been several times. At first the dough was too salty now the Food is good, espresso is amazing, cross contamination terrible. If you are vergetarian I would not reccomend this place. The food handling also seems sketchy. I watched a kid with dirty hands handle food. I won't be back.
(2)Dave M.
Great pizza made by great people!!! True neapolitan style pizza made with fresh ingredients and in full respect of the culinary tradition. Unbelievable find in the Boca mall. BRAVI!!!!
(5)barbaros o.
Great food friendly crew. My son was interested how the pizza was made and Adam who does the pizza immediately cut a piece of a dough and gave my son to create his own pizza. Friendly gesture that makes the difference. the Americana and pasta was good and fresh.
(5)Anthony S.
Ordered a caprese pizza and also got the neopolitan panuozzo with eggplant funghetto. It was hands down one of the best I have ever had, and this from a food court inside the Boca Town Center. Everything was prepared fresh in front of my eyes. After prep it was placed into the 900 degree wood brick oven that I learned was directly imported from Italy. The pizza maker is also imported - from Naples. The food came out hot, juicy and delicious. I also had 2 desserts (don't judge me), the tiramisu and the cannoli. They were both great tasting, sweet and a good balance of coffee on top. I definitely recommend this place to anyone. They have great food and are complimented with a friendly and professional staff. I will go out of my way to come here in the future. Grazie mille!!
(5)Monica B.
Fast food can be good! First time that I go to a Mall food court and find a pizza place with an actual wood brick oven !! Must go to see it and believe it! They bake and serve their yummy Neapolitan style pizzas in minutes... I was also very pleased with the service, nice girls in neat clean uniforms welcomed me and took my order with a smile. They should have a place like this in every mall.
(5)Frank C.
My favorite pizza in Boca. True Napolitano style. The prosciutto mozzarella panini is delicious! Always stop by here when I come to the Town Center mall.
(5)Gregory S.
OK, the food isn't very filling, the pizza is pretty good, the gnocchis are OK. Could it be better? Yes.
(4)Babs S.
Good mall food, standard crappy mall staff. Try the gnocchi alfredo & a peach iced tea.
(3)Damara C.
Delicious wood oven pizza right out of Italy to the Town Center Mall Food Court! Had the Margherita and it was great and affordable. Also, very quick. Large menu of items and locally owned. Worth checking out.
(4)Julia S.
Really delicious pizza, made to order, definitely a big plus to a mall food court ! They also offer a variety of small side which are a good choice if not very hungry. I love the Margherita pizza, the rice balls and the eggplant parm.
(5)Crissie L.
Few things in life are this perfect. They need to open a location outside the mall so I can have it whenever I want! Everything is good, but their pizza BY FAR is the best!
(5)Craig A.
Considering this neopolitian pizza place is in a food court, and it should be overpriced and without taste, I was pleasantly surprised and impressed with the pizza I was served here. This is the spot I eat when @towncentermall
(4)Bill S.
Excellent "real Italian" pizza and pasta in the Boca Raton Town Center Mall food court. I had the Pizza Bianca ($5.50) and it was the best tasting pizza I ever had in a mall food court.. Fresh hand made pies cooked in a flame oven. I also tried the fresh pasta samples of Gnocchi and it was fantastic and I wish they offered a smaller side dish rather than a huge bowl ($8.50). This place is the "real deal" and even has a actual Fiat 500 car on display. Forget the other pizza places in this food court and stick with Pummarola.
(4)Jesse M.
Very authentic wood fired pizza. I am Italian and wow, just wow. For food court food this place is amazing 5 star all the way!!
(5)Dr. Matthew S.
Can't believe this place is in a mall food court-it's too good for that. Great, authentic Neapolitan food. Some of the best Italian pizzeria style food I've had outside of Italy!
(5)Jay D.
If you know good pizza, namely Napoletana style, purist pizza, this place will swoon you with its simple, fresh, and real ingredients. You can't go wrong, order any pizza that suits your fancy. I would pay $20.00 for this pizza, surprisingly it's well priced. If it wasn't in a food court, it could hold ground with any pizza maker in town, and beyond.
(5)Jonathan O.
One of the closest places you'll find to a little Italian snack bar (because of the panini and such) or pizzeria. Best pizza around, and in the unlikeliest of places! Do not miss.
(5)Brian R.
It is rare to find real trattoria-style Italian food. It is rare to find it at the mall. Pummarola is a real-deal place for pizza and basic italian dishes, including some very nice arancini. Ingredients are super fresh and their sauces, which are a bellwether of how good the people in the kitchen are, are top grade. The only star drop is because the food is so good that it screams for wine/beer, and a bit more culinary sanctity than that garishly loud food court at Town Center Mall, but they don't apparently allow the fermented fruit of the grape in the food court. Shame on you, Simon Malls.... Un po d'vino e pasta per pranzo? É la vita dolce!
(4)Isaac T.
Was in the mood for some pizza while shopping at the mall, so decided to give this place a try. I had the veggie 9" pie: Very fresh tasting, but the crust was a little floppy. Service at the counter was adequate. Overall, very average, but grading on the the curve (it's a food court, after all), they get a very generous 3 stars.
(3)Tracy D.
Delicious, amazing pizza. It doesn't get any more authentic than this. The owners/cooks are from Naples and one taste takes you there. Best pizza in Boca and without a doubt the best offering in the food court
(5)Reviewer S.
In short, this is the closest to an authentic Neapolitan pizza one would find in Italy. Each Pizza is made fresh to order. Not what you would typically get in a mall food court. I go to the mall just for their hand made pizza. So refreshing to see a restaurant doing it authentic. Owner and Pizza Chef's are friendly too.
(5)Salyas G.
We ate here many times, most of the time the pizza is very good ( depends who is the pizzamaker) I ate a pizza like this only in Naples. They need to improve the Arancini, the rice was overcook. They increased the price, to much for a food court. To bad that they don't have a take out.
(4)Max M.
By far the best pizza in Boca Raton. I was born and raised in Italy - have been here in the US for the past 10 years - and I can say that this is the way pizza is supposed to be. It is odd (and pleasant) to see such quality place in a food court where junk food is dominant usually. Their gnocchi and tiramisu (both made in house) are also exceptional. If you can't appreciate food here, you're better off with McDonalds.
(5)K V.
Okay...we first tried pummarola when it opened a few months ago and we loved it! It is made like real authentic Naples pizza...very good and not greasy...but the last two times we ate there my husband and I were both up all night with terrible gas and other stomach issues...I am not sure what has changed in their recipe, but I will no longer eat there again...the food court in town center is awful...only half the restaurants are open and now Chic fil-A is closed...pummarola was my new fav...no more...
(1)Antonio B.
It was my first time at the mall, the food court is not that big, and i found this place called Pummarola,a real Napolitan pizza place with wood burning oven, the pizza Caprese was really good, and the nutella tiramisu' was soft and rich. If you go there don't miss it, definitely try!
(5)Liu W.
This is the best authentic italian food in Florida. Better that any upscale italian restaurants in the area, the ingredients are imported from Italy and the pizza is to die for if you like authentic Naples style pizza.Close your eyes and taste the authenticity, you will feel like you are in Italy!
(5)D P.
I'm a pizza lover an make pizza myself following the Neapolitan recipe. Born and raised in Italy I have been in south Florida in the last 5 years. At first I thought it was a joke, Neapolitan pizza at the mall? My wife and I gave it A try. As soon as I saw the manager Luca (met in a different pizzeria in the area) I felt immediately comfortable. Long story short, the best authentic Italian pizza you can find out of Miami (and for $5.5)......real deal!!!!
(5)Zander A.
Excellent Authentic Neapolitan Pizza!!!

I went to visit a friend in Boca Raton and we decided to check out the mall. We were hungry so we decided to stop at the food court for a quick bite before starting our shopping. The Town Center is an upscale mall and it seems like the restaurants in the food court have been carefully chosen to match the standards of the stores in the mall. There is no Mc Donald or Subway in there. The only familiar spot to me was a Chik-fil-A which didn't appeal to me anyway. Our attention was drawn by an Italian spot called Pummarola. The place looked colorful and inviting. There is even a real old Fiat 500 inside the place ( yes... a real car !!). Besides the car, the main focus is an Italian brick pizza oven which I have never seen in a food court of a shopping center before . The smell coming out from the oven was awesome so we decided to give it a try. We are glad we did. I can honestly say that I had the best pizza I have had since last time I was in Italy. The freshness of the ingredients and the lightness and flavor of the crust brought me back memories of my visits to the historic pizzerias in Naples. I actually spoke briefly with the pizza guy while he was making my pizza and he said he was Neapolitan. My friend had a plate of pasta that they claim is homemade and it was really delicious. The service was prompt and friendly and the wait minimal. This little Italian spot really impressed me. I live in Miami but I am already thinking to take another trip to Boca Raton very soon to try some of their other specialties. Hopefully they decide to expand and open more places in the malls near me (Aventura ...??)

best pizza in south florida !! I am Italian and last time I had such a good pizza was in naples Italy, very very good
(5)Mariarosaria D.
This is the best piazza in Boca Raton. We are so happy to find one near our house, because we are neapolitian....and we don't like the Italian/ american pizza. It must be soft not hard crust. Thank you Loris, to prepare so gooood pizzas.
(5)Roberto B.
The best mall pizza I have ever tasted. Neapolitan style Margherita pizza is a steal at $6. Cheese is fresh mozzarella, not bufala. Yet, I remind myself I am in a mall in Florida and not Bleeker street in the Village. Americana pizza was even better than the Margherita! Fettuccine portion is huge, and came with the same pizza sauce. Eggplant parm was a little too oily and cheesy. It was also served at a barely microwaved temperature. Still, at $3 a portion it is hard to complain. Everything appears at super speed. Italian bread is actually served (in a little bag), not the horrible dinner rolls common to almost every Italian restaurant in South Florida. This place dances to tune of its own drum, and that is quite impressive and unique in Boca Raton.
(5)Roman S.
For a wood fired mall pizza, it's quite good. For a wood fired premium pizza it's just soso. The side salad is on par with fast food salad. About $6 to $8 for pizza. While price is reasonable it's not something anyone should ever come to the mall for.
(3)Kristine C.
What a gem. Really, really good pizza, in a mall, in Florida. I was very impressed. But you know what blew my socks off? Their eggplant parmesan SIDE dish. Who serves eggplant parm as a side? Obviously these guys do... And it was freaking delicious! I'd venture to say it was even better than the pizza! Sorry about the 4 stars, but can't say much about the service and the ambience which are a big part of the equation. But if judging on food alone, definitely deserves 5.
