After years of saying I wanted to try Augy's we finally went last Saturday night. We got there around 6:30 and it was starting to get crowded. We were seated right away. We ordered a 14" Pizza ( 1/2 plain-1/2 with onions & mushroom), the chopped salad ($12.99) and a side of Broccoli Rapini Garlic and Oil ($9.99). The salad came first. It was very large and had cranberries and pecans in it. The dressing was bland, but everything was fresh. It was just OK, but overpriced in my opinion. The Pizza came out quickly. After reading the reviews I was expecting it to be good, however I was wrong. The Pizza was very doughy and way under cooked. The cheese had little taste and the sauce was watery. The sides on pie were barely cooked. Overall, it just wasn't very good. We actually took half home and gave it away. The side of Broccoli Rapini had little taste and was VERY bitter and at $9.99 again I think way overpriced for a place like this. They do have a large menu and many specials, however many dishes seem over priced to me. I know they've been around for many years, but my first meal wasn't good. The service was fine, and the restaurant was clean. They were busy and they must be doing something right after being there for so many years. Maybe I will try something besides Pizza if we go back.

I am a New Yorker, born and raised, and I know good pizza. I am fortunate to have the best pizza in the world at my doorstep. But when I think of the best Sicilian slice, I think of Augys in Boca. And I don't even really like Sicilian!!! I can honestly eat the whole pie. Best Sicilian pizza, trust me.

Four of us went to Augy's for the first time tonight based on a very strong recommendation from an acquaintance. The location is in a strip mall in an industrial area. The room is relatively small and packed with picnic style tables. It was very busy - and quite noisy - when we arrived. They honored our reservation and seated us right on time in one of the tightly packed booths. We were offered garlic rolls which were loaded with butter and garlic. Tasty...but I could only eat half of one due to the very heavy garlic flavor. Thanks to Yelp we started with a shared Sicilian pizza which was really extremely good...and it turns out was the highlight of the night. It was downhill from there. The portions are large and can be shared so we ordered a Spaghetti Bolognese and a Veal Francese. These dishes come with a side salad which was quite good but nothing special. The dishes themselves were mediocre and we agreed that we wouldn't order them in future. In fact if we ever were to go back we would stick to sharing a couple of varieties of Sicilian pizza. The service was friendly and efficient. Four stars for the Sicilian pie and two stars for everything else.

this is as authentic as it gets. if you want bullshit go elsewhere, im from brooklyn, and i know good food when i see it. the sauce is top notch, tomatoes straight from italy, no games to be played. you can go to marios, meatball room, italio, and get bullshit food. not gonna find that here. they keep it 1hundred.

Best Italian restaurant in Florida. It is an authentic red sauce joint that has been a staple in Boca for countless years. The Sicilian pizza is unbelievable. The chicken Parmigiana is the best Chicken parm dinner you will ever taste. Everything at Augy's is top notch. Everything on the menu is the best you will ever have.

Almost inedible pizza -- rock-hard crust, watery and bland toppings and a very long wait, even after we finished our over-priced salad. Sorry that we believed the favorable review and ignored the negative ones.

The best pizza in Boca Raton, possibly Palm Beach County, bar none. Get the Sicilian pizza and thank me later.

Decent Pizza I guess.... A friend of mine spoke very highly of it and brought some for the MIAMI HEAT GAME! Great game, just OK pizza. But thanks for buying Jackie! :-) As there was nothing great about it, there are several other places I'd order from before ordering here again.

Great Sicilian pizza, soup and service. It's a cozy atmosphere and always busy. I've been a customer for years and recommend them always. Family owned and very friendly people.

Always a great option for affordable, no nonsense Italian. The pizza (the square, not the regular) is in my Top 5 Best local pizzas. The sauce is great on both the pizza and the dishes. The beer by the pitcher always makes me happy too. One thing, and this is mostly to be humorous, but truthful, the customers here are some of the worst dressed people in all of Boca. No 12 carat diamonds or Joan Rivers faces, just regular folks, in bad clothes, with napkins hanging out of their shirts, like a bib.

Stopped by this pizza restaurant while traveling south. And I can only say I'm sorry I did. The Sicilian-style pizza was just alright, but the service was far from that. Mind you, coming from New York City proper, my pizza scale might be a bit unfair. No excuse for the inattentive service, however. Or the cauterized calamari. I'll probably never again find myself in Augy's neck of the woods, but, if I do, I'll be sure to find something new. My take: keep driving!

If you want something a little lighter than pizza order the Chicken and Broccoli pasta. It's served over penne and comes with a fantastic pink sauce. Can't reccomend it more!

Great server. We were a party of 4 at this homely restaurant. It's cheap but everyone enjoyed the meal except me. I had calamari over linguine, the calamari varied from scraps to oversized rings. The scraps were tough, the oversize rings inedibly undercooked and those in the middle OK. I didn't think much of the sauce either. The snapper Francesca was reported as great

We ordered in from Augy's based on the good reviews but it was AWFUL. I got the tortellini in a cream and butter sauce. It was tasteless and bland. I was shocked. It is not hard to make a even halfway decent Alfredo sauce but it had NO TASTE. And no amount of cheese gave it any taste at all. Won't be ordering again... especially for that price...

Garlic rolls, pizza, veal parm, and even the seafood were all very good. We went here during a football game and the food was ready very quickly. The family-run feel to the place was also a pleasant change from most places we usually go in the area.

Augy's has been around since I was a kid (I'm 25 years now) and has always been delicious Italian food. The chicken parm is my all time favorite (super thin, cheesy and with perfectly cooked spaghetti) - I could eat it every night! Garlic rolls are great, and their pizza is too! The eggplant parm is also delicious and great to share as an appetizer :) I love this place and hope it will stay in Boca forever

The pizza is ok, but they definately get more hype than it's worth. Service during the lunch time is not very good either, for example I went with a friend and bought the pizza buffet, which is essentially 2 pizzas left on the counter for people to pick at and a salad, but we never got our salad brought out. I would not recommend this to any pizza lover.

First visit to Augy's. Interesting old-school looking place. Let me start with the service...young well-informed waitstaff, who were helpful and made intelligent conversation during our visit. I'd give the young waitress and server who served us 4 1/2 stars...I'd have given them 5 stars if our food came out closer together, even though I seriously doubt it was their error. Garlic rolls! Best thing of the evening! I would go there just for the nice young waitstaff and garlic rolls. My wife had the lentil soup, which she thought was quite good. Her eggplant rollatini was good, but she was not impressed with the accompanying spaghetti with marinara. Several reviewers raved about the tangy sweet sauce...for us, it just seemed pedestrian. My "NY" style pizza was a bit of a disappointment. The crust was too limp. I'm not sure if this is their usual crust or if they rushed it out (her eggplant came out 10 minutes before my pie). Either way, I probably should've ordered their Sicilian style pizza. It would seem that it may be more in their wheelhouse. If it's as good as their garlic rolls, I was a fool not to try it. I'll try Augy's one more time, just to check out the Sicilian pie...and another go-round with those crusty garlicky rolls.

Augy's....a boca institution. I'm giving it 5* based solely on the Sicilian pizza. It is sublime. Pillowy middle with crispy crust. It's different and original and the best around. Everything else is neighborhood-Italian good. But the Sicilian....oh mamma!

Rachel M.
I've been here one other time before, the lunch special is reasonable, unlimited pizza and a house salad. You have choices from what's currently available: on this visit, cheese pizza and Sicilian slices. The pizza is okay but not great. The salad is iceberg lettuce, cucumbers, tomatoes and onions.

This is the best homemade Italian restaurant in Boca - PERIOD. They have been in business for years and I've been a regular since another Boca local told me about it 8 years ago. All of their dinners are large, fresh and off the charts taste wise. Truly that type of place that brings you back to your Italian grandma's cooking. Never had a bad meal here. I will say that "in season" this place is packed every night. Just be patient - it's well worth the wait.

I love these obscure neighborhood gem type restaurants that are becoming less and less as years go by. I would actually give this 3.5 stars but unfortunately Yelp does not give us the flexibility. Started off with a large salad of primarily lettuce and a few excellent garlic rolls followed by a good to very good chicken parm with spaghetti. My wife had baked meatless rigatoni which she enjoyed. By the time you are finished you are "stuffed". As to why only 3 stars? I am fussy so the rotten tomato in the salad, the seating is more akin to an uncomfortable fast food or BBQ place, and broccoli rapini having no flavor shaved a little off but at the end of the day, excellent value, good food, arge portions means I will be back. Excellent value also means a busy restaurant. I recommend this place.

We had my mom's promotion party catered from augy's. I myself have never heard of augy's before but her coworkers ordered the food and we were very satisfied. The portions of food that we had delivered was overwhelming! We had so much leftover we were giving it away. We particularly enjoyed the garlic rolls and the eggplant park. We also ordered penne a la vodka, baked ziti, chicken marsala and salad. The chicken marsala to me lacked some flavor but many other people at the party enjoyed it. Will come and try out more food at the actual restaurant!

This is my all-time favorite pizza place. I grew up going here, and their Sicilian style pizza is my personal favorite of any pizza place in any city I have visited. I went recently and it was not as amazing as it used to be, but I hope it was just an off night. Go for the lunch buffet and enjoy their delicious crust, gooey cheese, and tangy, sweet sauce.

Augy's has solid Italian food. The pizza is awesome--the sauce is delicious and the crust is cooked to perfection. Their Italian dishes are equally as good. The only down side is that they didn't accept credit cards last time I was there.

As a quick preface: The service was the absolute WORST I have ever experienced at ANY restaurant in my ENTIRE LIFE. Very short staffed, and the hostess at the front (larger lady with long, black, curly hair) was the rudest person I have ever met at ANY restaurant. The ending of this review will explain why, and it is truly amazing. The food was good, but that tends to be the case in most Italian restaurants, and really most restaurants in general. It's rare to have terrible food. To start off, we had a 6:30 reservation. At 6:30, we were told that there were no tables open so we would have to wait. We ended up getting seated at 6:40 in the corner table (very small restaurant). No big deal, but it was apparently a sign of things to come. The waiter (I think) came to take our drink orders. The restaurant was out of sprite (another sign of things to come), so that person got water. Three of us ordered drinks. After asking a few people for our drinks, a busser (kudos to the three bussers for doing everything) came with our drinks. Unfortunately, the person who ordered unsweetened iced tea was brought water. After reminding a few people that she ordered unsweetened iced tea, a busser brought sweetened iced tea. He was probably misinformed, but still poor service. We told him it was supposed to be unsweetened, and he said he would have someone bring that. That was a trend throughout the night. Whenever we asked someone for something, they always said they would have someone else bring it. The food was brought out by two bussers (minus my pizza). My pizza came out about five minutes later by the pizza maker. He said he would bring a plate, but that never happened. Like I said earlier, the food was fine, but most Italian restaurants have food that I enjoy. By this point in the meal, the person with pasta still hadn't received a fork, even after we asked four people. I went to the front myself and got one from the hostess. We also hadn't received drink refills or more rolls after asking five different people. So again I went to the hostess to tell her, and she said she would bring them. A few minutes later she brought the rolls over and said the soda machine broke so we couldn't get refills at that time. Our waiter (so I think) made another appearance to ask us if everything was okay after we were obviously finished with our meals. We asked him for boxes, and he asked if we wanted refills. We told him we would take some boxes, and just water at this point. He came back with water and no boxes. We asked him for boxes, and he came back with them and the bill. The bill had charges for the drinks so we told him to take those off because we had three drinks, one of which was wrong, and no refills. He said okay. The hostess came back with the receipt and asked us why we wanted the drink charges removed. We told her we never got refills. She asked us if we ever received drinks, and we said we didn't get refills. She said, "But did you ever get any drinks." We told her we did. She said, "So you don't want to pay for any drinks because you never got refills." We told her she was absolutely correct. She gave us a disgusted look and walked away. She should have never come over. We payed the bill, and an obviously less than usual tip. The place would not have any of these problems if they hired more people, and if theuly had a soda machine that worked. That's it!

This is my go to Italian restaurant. The dinners and pizza are all excellent. The atmosphere isn't fancy. Simple family place with terrific food and reasonable prices. A great alternative to the all glitz no substance Italian restaurants that are all to common in Boca.

Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.
Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.
Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.
Italian Cuisine
The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.
Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.
If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
