I go here because they allow us to park our tractor (18-wheeler) here. My first trip here, I had a Clock's Cobb salad and it was THE BOMB. It was huge and crisp and fresh and delicious. Second trip - a different kind of bomb. Got the roast turkey & dressing, with salad, mashed potatoes & zucchini sticks. Salad was OK except the tomato was over-ripe. For an $11 meal this was the stingiest serving of meat I can recall getting in forever - one small slice, about 8-10 bites. MAYBE 2 oz. of meat. The potatoes and dressing both appeared to be the "instant" variety, the dinner roll was tough and stale, and the zucchini sticks were the dime-a-dozen frozen variety from a restaurant supply. Not a house-made item on the plate. I will be hard-pressed to order anything besides the Cobb salad on future visits, because I won't know whether Jeckyl or Hyde will show up otherwise. Too bad, they are friendly and have good service.

best zucchini sticks - this was recommended by my so who took me here after his sunday workshift. only issue i had was that we were the only minorities in the eatery place. customer service is great and very down home.

Our favorite little hole-in-the-wall restaurant in Auburndale. We usually come here at the end of the day to unwind and get our grub on. The place is in desperate need of an upgrade but the food is good. Our server Linda has got to be the nicest, most sweetest server in there. She's the one who suggested that we order the sweet potato fries appetizer. What? They have that as an appetizer??? Hook us up! They were cut like steak fries and were fantastic. She did also suggest that we put powdered sugar on them but we declined due to the sweet teas we were already drinking. Man, those were good. My mother ordered a Mushroom and Swiss burger and I ordered the Spinach Omelette with hash browns. I started out with good intentions, you know, trying to watch what I eat but I got a bacon craving. So, I ordered 2 side orders of bacon strips. Hey, it happens. The bacon came out in really thin pieces but the quantity on the plate made me happy. Without asking, Linda gave us 2 tall to-go cups of sweet tea for the road and we thanked her immensely as it was a long drive back home. I do hope this place sticks around as it has become a yearly tradition for us.

The Clock Restaurant has been a semi regular Saturday morning stop for me and my family for about a year now. I'm kicking myself for not making it part of my routine earlier, as I've lived in the area for five years. This is your basic small town diner, with an emphasis on good, filling food done well at reasonable prices. The fourth star above was earned by genuinely living as part of the community - there are trophies on the wall from the local racetrack, American flags in abundance and the kind of waitresses who'll learn your name and your preferences. The thing that stands out to me is the pancakes. These are dense, filling affairs, suitable for someone who is going to work all day or is amenable to being in a food coma for most of the evening. I'm a fairly big boy and most of their breakfast deals (such as the Paul Bunyan breakfast) are just plain too much for me to eat comfortably. Proceed with caution, but in a good way. If you're in the area for Legoland, Sun & Fun or a similar vacation, do yourself a favor and have a breakfast at Clock. The memories of engaging with your family at a truly local spot will last longer than the food stays with you - and that's a long time indeed.

The food and service is good for the small town restaurant that it is. And it's located right on the main strip heading into or out of Auburndale.
