Highly recommend Azurea!!!!! The views amazing, ambience chic, cool bar and patio overlooking the ocean, and food incredible and not a bad price either. The service (Dwayne mad Anita) was outstanding - very engaged and made for an even better experience. Don't let the face it is in a hotel dissuade you - incredibly strong recommendation. Make your reservation on Open Table and request a booth if you are a couple - very romantic!!

The Egg Benedict with Canadian bacon is decently nice ... However the Benedict has little heat and the sauce is slight above room temperature. It would be lot better. The pancake is much better and the cappuccino is very enjoyable. Consider this is an upscale restaurant at a prime boutique hotel in the Atlantic beach JAX therefore I would give it 3.5 stars instead of a 4 stars. The waitress is extremely professional and nice. The seating staff is very courtesy and the pronounce my last name very accurate... impressing ... :) Overall it is a nice brunch on Sunday.

Recently I was invited out to Azurea to taste some items off of their new spring menu. The restaurant is located inside of the One Ocean resort at Jax Beach and has an amazing view! Our first course was Chilled English Pea and Mint Bisque with a Benton's Ham Crisp. They poured the soup right at the table. It was a very nice touch. The soup had a nice mild taste and the ham crisp gave it a little bit of a crunch. Our second course was Hand Crafted Hudson Valley Foie Gras Tortellini. The dish consisted of tortellini, fava bean, cipollini onions, corn, heirloom tomatoes, Nueske's double smoked bacon, and local aquaponic Nasturium flowers. I am a sucker for anything pasta so I was looking forward to this dish. I will admit that I was a little nervous about the foie gras, but I'm up for trying new things so I gave it a shot. I'm glad I did because everything on that plate was delicious! All of the veggies complimented the pasta and everything was very well seasoned. The third course was Tellicherry Crusted Harris Ranch Natural Beef Tenderloin Medallions accompanied by wilted hydro cress and spinach, local harvest carrots (from the chef's garden!), white beach mushrooms, and natural jus. This course was also a winner. The beef was extremely tender and flavorful. I loved the glaze on the veggies and it went great with the beef. Our fourth and final course was dessert, my favorite! It was Humbled Fog Fromage Blanc Cheese Cake with spiced caramel, brule naval orange, and citrus reduction. I'm not a huge cheesecake fan, but I loved this! The fromage gave it a milder flavor and the caramel was a nice addition. Absolutely delicious! Verdict: Liked it! The resort is beautiful and everyone I met was very helpful and kind. I thought the food was great and I can see myself visiting again for a special occasion. All of the food was well thought out and executed with care. We had the pleasure of talking to Chef Ted throughout the night and learned that he has a very extensive and interesting career. He has worked all over the US and trains the new chefs for their other resorts, so you know he is good at what he does!

This is a five stars restaurant in the Yelp scoring system. My experience tells me that the only way one would score less than five stars is the price. Of course, is an expensive restaurant because is a very upscale restaurant. The menu changes with each season, representing the latest trends and the finest ingredients, I was told. Many of the items on the menu can't hardly be found at other restaurants. I had the opportunity to appreciate good bread with four different spreads; apple sauce, black garlic, vinaigrette, and butter. All very good. I did not know that there was such a thing as black garlic. Wikipedia says that "is a type of caramelized garlic first used over the course of several weeks, a process that results in black cloves". It was the best of the four spreads. I also had a nice Cesar salad, a squash soup (tasted like heaven), a beet salad, and the great Roasted Butternut Squash Tortellini. I did not order dessert, I was full, but I still was given something sweet to finish my dinner at no cost. The place was not too busy, and I enjoyed great food, excellent service in a great environment. Recommended when money is available.

Anniversary dinner was nice. Service was excellent. We dined at 6:00 and were the only couple there for most of our meal. The food was good and the presentation was beautiful. Nice evening.

This is a solid restaurant for a date or anniversary dinner. The atmosphere is cool and inviting, and the food is delicious. I was in a group of four people and got to taste everyone's dish. You really should go with the seafood. I had the bison and it was covered in sauce - you could barely taste the meat. It wasn't bad, but wasn't worth the price either. It's also more dressy than other restaurants nearby, definitely not a place you can walk into straight from the beach. Drinks were also good, but stop by and visit Hugh at the front bar on your way in.

This is my absolute favorite must go place in all of Jacksonville when I am there. The Foie Gras is amazing. The presentation is spectacular and the staff is first rate. I like to sit outside the bar by the crashing waves. Best in Jacksonville, easy.

I'm local and wasn't staying at the hotel. Going to a hotel restaurant is usually not my thing, however I'm glad I did! The atmosphere is quiet, peaceful and romantic. We went to a late (8:30) dinner which made us one of the two tables in the restaurant. The chef came out to talk to us about some of the menu choices and give his opinion and listen to our personalized requests. Vegan menu items were clearly marked. I had the sweet potato and spinach gnocchi--YUM!! Definitely recommend this restaurant for date night.

This place is a new favorite. Husband managed to make reservations here on rather late notice for Mother's Day and I'm so glad he did! The entire restaurant is open to views of the ocean (score!) and the ambiance is a clean, modern vibe (score again!) with tasty food (score yet again!). We had the asparagus bisque, seafood cobb salad (the shrimp was a tad too salty), fish tacos and they even customized a brunch dish for our kiddo (eggs, bacon, fruit). The server was kind, attentive, and friendly. A great place to go for special occasions. Hope to be back!

So good for breakfast. Beautiful setting so just looking around is appealing. Food presentation is nice and taste is really good. Indoor or outdoor dining but both have great beach views. Decor is like a jewelry store.

Went there for Eater Brunch and the only thing impressive was the view. We booked a table through Open Table and was impressed to get a call a couple of day before to ask about our dietary needs and ask for info to contact us in the future for other deals. However, when we arrived I asked for an outside table where I was told it would be over an hour wait and had other guest request the outside table only to leave and find 6 empty tables. We sat at a booth and had pretty good service from our waiter; however the food and menu was not very good. For a Sunday Brunch there was only 4 breakfast options and the rest of the menu was filled with $14+ soup/salad options and $26+ dinner options. We had Egg Benedit where the eggs were not runny and the english muffin was not even toasted. I would not go back.....

Amazing beach views, super mod decor, attentive service, remarkable ingredient combinations....Azurea was quite an experience both for the tastebuds and for the inviting ambience. We were seated in a cozy semi-private round booth that let us look out to the beach and blowing sea oats, which made us feel like we were on vacation, despite being just miles from home. Our agave margarita and cucumber and gin drink choices were delicious! (Azurea also has a fun, semi-swanky bar area that's fun to grab a drink if you're not eating.) Out waiter promptly brought out a quad of breads (ciabatta, lavash, museli and grain) with four dipping options: olive oil and balsamic, tomatoes, roasted garlic, and Vermont butter with sea salt. Yum! We started with an amuse bouche, compliments of the chef, and then ordered the roasted beet and Sweet Grass Dairy goat cheese salad (goat cheese mousse, baby arugula, walnut vinaigrette, yellow tomatoes) and cast-iron seared jumbo blue crab cake (apple cider braised collard greens, charred heirloom tomatoes, crisp smoked bacon). My seared diver scallops with green onion crepe, lump blue crab, house smoked bacon, hominy and asparagus spears were perfect. Nothing worse than overcooked scallops! Boyfriend ordered the fresh catch, done three ways. It was a black grouper grilled with 1. tropical fruit salpicone 2. bronzed with citrus butter emulsion and 3. beignet-battered with smoked vidalia onion remoulade (oh my goodness, so good!). We ordered a side of the double smoked bacon-braised collard greens and they were surprisingly sweet. Lastly, we shared a quad of desserts. My favorite was the basil cheesecake with compressed mango and white balsamic marinated strawberries and the tahitian vanilla creme brulee, and his were the blueberry tart with white chocolate shavings, and the crispy chocolate and peanut butter "candy bar." Azuea is fabulous as a special occasion destination or fancy date night. We truly enjoyed ourselves and can't wait to bring friends and family in to experience its allure!

If you'd ask a group of people what they want for their anniversary some may say jewelry, others may say sports equipment. Me on the other hand, I enjoy gifts of food. I mean, isn't the way to one's heart through their stomach? This may not be the case for all, but for me this rings true. I think about food morning, noon, and night (and in my dreams, but sometimes they involve vegetables chasing after me, alas, I digress). So I was excited when my esposo (yes, and I'm doubly talented because I speak Spanish) said he was surprising me for our anniversary and taking me out to dinner. Driving up to Atlantic Beach, I secretly kept saying to myself "I hope we're going to Azurea in One Ocean, I hope we're going to Azurea in One Ocean." I'm assuming that we were going to Azurea because secretly my husband could hear me channeling him about bringing me to Azurea, but I'm about 99% positive that's not the case, considering he had a reservation. Oh well, no powers of telepathy here. Walking into One Ocean is like stepping into a different world. Okay, maybe I wouldn't go that far, but Toto (or Carla) doesn't feel like he's in Jacksonville anymore. You're transported to a posh, upscale, modern hotel. Walking to the restaurant you're surrounded by colors of the sea: deep and rich Mediterranean blues, seafoam greens, and sandy browns. Since we got to the restaurant early, we decided to have a drink at the bar. I ordered a lemon drop martini with sugared rim. My better half ordered a Captain and Coke. Both came out quickly. My lemon drop martini was sour and deliciously sweet. The views from the high-top table were lovely. You have a view of the sea oats rustling in the wind and the Atlantic Ocean. Azurea also has a lovely patio space available, equipped with couches and chairs. We were seated for dinner and quickly greeted by our server, Anita. I ordered an extra dirty martini with blue cheese stuffed olives for my second drink. The martini came out perfectly, and the blue cheese stuffed olives were divine. The menu is progressive, but also offers some reliable (safe) choices (for those of you who aren't too adventurous). We decided to start with the lobster gnocchi (sweet corn, Maine Lobster, double smoked bacon, and tarragon). While we were waiting for our appetizer, Anita brought out an amuse-bouche (small bite) of smoked salmon mousse. I'll be the first to say, I don't like salmon. To me it always tastes gamey, but after giving myself a pep talk, I'm glad I tried the amuse-bouche. It was delicious and I was disappointed when it literally was only one bite. Our gnocchi were delicious. The Maine Lobster tasted fresh and sweet and the gnocchi were delicate and delicious. Anita then brought out a bread plate, which had several different types of bread. All of which were quite delicious. She also brought out multiple spreads for the bread: tomato jam (sweet and surprising), salted Vermont butter (rich, just like butter should be), and sundried tomato spread. For dinner I ordered the Harris Ranch Natural Tenderloin, served with Yukon potato and Gouda flan and creamed silver queen corn. My husband opted for the Bone-In Strip, served with flat creek smokey blue cheese garnish du jour. We also ordered two sides: mousseline of Yukon gold potato and foraged mushrooms with fresh thyme butter. Our meals came out and they both looked great. Although we all know things can always look great, but taste awful. Luckily that wasn't the case. I bit into my tenderloin and it was rich and buttery. The sauce paired nicely with the meat. The creamed corn was sweet and creamy, which worked well with the rich potato and Gouda flan. My husband raved about his bone-in strip. After taking a tiny bite (okay, it wasn't tiny, it was more like a chunk) of the strip, it was rich and so tasty. Regarding the sides we ordered, I'd steer clear of the mousseline of Yukon gold potato. It was bland, it tasted like instant mashed potatoes. The foraged mushrooms with fresh thyme butter were delicious. They were rich, woody, and fragrant. For dessert I ordered the Tiramisu Bavarian (chocolate espresso bean and Myers rum mascarpone mousse). The texture of the dessert was silky and smooth. Each bite was better than the next. Pros: Ambiance, service (friendly and knowledgeable servers), menu variety, food (exquisite). Cons: Mousseline of Yukon gold potato. If you order this dish, make sure to BYOS (Bring Your Own Spices). Tips: Enjoy Azurea's outdoor patio. It's a relaxing setting and great place to have drinks.

Someone needs to explain to me why Azurea only has 4 stars on Yelp! As a foodie, this place is Mecca. It's one of my favorite restaurants, if not THE favorite one. The food is delicious, service impeccable, and atmosphere modern and comfortable (not to mention the view of the sand dunes). I had the filet while my hubby had the Sea Bass (signature dish), both of which were heavenly. The butternut squash and Brussel sprout side dishes were heavenly. The selection of bread was also heavenly. Dessert fell a bit short with the lemon meringue bar. It was heavy and mediocre. But the meal was worthy of 5 stars. Every time I land in JAX, my first stop is always this spot. It's worth the trip...

We live locally and we decided to give Azurea another chance while staying at One Ocean- that was a $400 mistake . The service was slow and terrible . They said they were busy... But had 50% of the tables vacant .... They must be understaffed, because there was no excuse for the staff to be MIA. Worse than the service was the entrees , the bison (45$) tasted like unaged prime rib and our other two entrees were too salty . One member of our party sent their food back and the second attempt was better .... But the food was still not good . Sadly, i can't even say anything good about the dessert .... Just poor . Needless to say we will never be back and will never recommend Azurea.

I visited Azurea for my cousins 60th birthday. I enjoyed the "experience" of fine dining. My husband and I are not regulars but it is definitely a wonderful "treat" if you want to "treat" yourself and your spouse. We went on a Saturday night. I had the duck and mash potatoes..big deal huh??!! The chef even sent out a little something for our table.

A recent girls night culminated in a room at One Ocean and dinner at Azurea. We started on the patio with martinis enjoying the night breeze. Dinner was an experience that left us stuffed and very happy. The bread basket included olive bread, crispy lavash, and sourdough served with veggie hummus, roasted garlic, butter and oil/balsamic vinegar. We started with a shrimp amuse bouche. Unfortunately, I hate shrimp but the yummy sounds coming from my friends lead me to believe it was great. For starters they had the crab cake (very good, little filler) and the goat cheese and beet salad. I had the gorgonzola souffle. Mini souffles were served with arugula and pear and it was so very tasty I didn't want to share! Dinner included risotto, beef tenderloin and Hawaiian bass. My bass was perfectly cooked and topped with a mango/lobster sauce. For dessert, we made our own sampler with creme brulee, chocolate bonfire, and key lime tart. Everything was artfully presented and incredibly tasty. By the end of the night, we were content and stuffed! Service was great and the price was very reasonable for our group, including a bottle of prosecco.

I made reservations for my wife and I to enjoy the jazz brunch at Azurea this afternoon and we were beyond disappointed. We were first lead outside to our table which was one of the only two tables without an umbrella. Baking in the sun, we asked our server Jackie C., who had yet to deliver our iced teas after 15 minutes, if we could move to the covered table and she gave us the go ahead. We were enjoying the great live music and our meal when we were approached by the hostess who rudely told us to take our food back to our original table because this one was reserved. The manager was very courteous in handling the situation but did not make up for us sitting, with empty glasses, for over 30 minutes after receiving our meal without the waitress even glancing in our direction. I have never experienced such neglect from a server before or had such an abrasive interaction with a hostess and we have no intention of a repeat experience.

We ate here twice during a recent hotel stay - once for breakfast and once for dinner. Breakfast was excellent! They had a wide variety of items, and all (pastries, pancakes, eggs, etc) were great. I normally expect to be gouged on breakfast prices at any hotel, but these were very reasonable, especially for what you got. The service was very good too. The coffee could be a bit stronger. Dinner was fine, but not great. The night we went the restaurant was not crowded, but the hostess decided to cram everyone, including a really loud, large group, into one side of the room. The place has a lot of hard surfaces, so it was loud anyhow (as is the adjacent bar). The dinner food was good. We had mostly fish, which ranged from ok to very good. One person had beef and said it was excellent. Service was actually better at breakfast. The views are nice - a little hard to see over the dune grass, but you cna hear the ocean. There is an outdoor seating area.

My reputation is at stake. I went to this restaurant two days in a row for breakfast. I reviewed it in Trip Advisor and gave it the highest mark possible given my experience the first day. I rarely give highest points. I mentioned about having one of the best pecan pancakes I have ever tasted but today I was disappointed. Since Trip Advisor will not let me review the same restaurant within a month, I am writing here hoping that people visiting posts will look at both here and Trip Advisor. If you want to have a great pecan pancake, do not visit the restaurant on Wednesday or Thursday when Wilbur the best pan cake guru is not around. Rest of the food was good and Jackie the server was great but I was so disappointed with the pancakes, the reason for the second visit.

I'm surprised by some of the reviews here - our experience was top-notch across the board. Great service (attentive and professional, but not solicitous), some of the best food in the region, and a relaxing atmosphere. If they had issues, maybe they fixed them or maybe it depends on the day/time you dine there. We trusted our servers' suggestions for all our courses and wines, and am glad we did - everything was terrific.

The food was good, in parts great, perhaps not quite at the level of what the cost and ambiance let on. However, what saved it for me was the attentiveness and consideration of Anita our server. Right on! Beautiful view. Loved the hummus, the tuna appetizer roll, the fish entree and veggie sides. Dessert was pretty but not the quality we would have expected. We might come back. The reason why we went was because our usual place in the area, Ocean 60, is closed on Sundays.

Food was great, service was average. Black grouper was awesome, crab cake was so so, desserts looked better than they tasted. Small, intimate dining room was nice, but one loud and boisterous table can kill the ambiance.

Amazing meal! Get the steaks, Polenta, beet and goat cheese salad, Pea soup. garlic spinach all so amazing. Only down fall was our waiter who is the snoody french dude is a total douchebag. We waited for over 30 minutes for him to give us our check but we gave up and walked out and just gave them our room number. So when we went back another evening we got Josh and he was amazing. For mornings the smoked salmon was amazing and so was the fritata. Their coffee is super strong and oh so good.

Dinner with family and friends. Waiter was not very attentive even though most tables were empty. I had the corvina fish dish. It was just okay not fresh. Sampled steaks others at the table chose and they were okay but not great. The tuna roll that was complimentary was fishy and not fresh. Overall no bad but not good value.

Fantastic service and food. A very special evening for a group of 12, and everyone at Azurea did a great job of accommodating my special requests and treating all guests exceptionally well. The tenderloin is something I will absolutely order again! And the dessert samplers were a huge hit with the group.

The food was good, but some things were off. The Harris beef tenderloin was excellent. I love that they can good a steak to the desired level. Most places overcook medium rare on steak, but this place was perfect.

My husband and I recently had dinner here and it was a wonderful experience! There are very few fine dining restaurants in the area especially on the ocean. The staff here were very friendly and the food was outstanding! The decor here is very contemporary but not overdone. The view of the ocean is very soothing and beautiful. We can't wait to return!

My girlfriend and I decided to go out for a nice dinner during our stay in Jacksonville Beach. If you're looking for a fancy meal, this is the place. The food and service here were incredible. We tried the Ahi Tuna Carpaccio, Coriander Dusted Sea Bass, Spice Island Land and Sea Duo and a side of the Baked Macaroni and Cheese. All of which were extremely well prepared and presented. Nothing here was a disappointment. The service here was top notch, like you'd expect from a very nice restaurant. The Executive Chef also personally deliverd our entrees which was a nice touch. Highly recommended.

My wife and I have dined here twice now and both times have left with our stomachs full and our mouths speechless. Their food is delicate and precise. The service is amazing. We had the pleasure of having Dwayne, who happens to also be the restaurant sommelier. He recommended great wine pairings for the scallops, my dinner, and the sea bass, my wife's dinner. Everything was cooked to perfection, from the seat on my scallops to the moistness of the sea bass. We finished up with their homemade ice cream that is velvety and rich. There are many great restaurants in jax beach, but Azurea is truly a fine dining experience like no where else in the area.

Great service start to finish. Had the candy cane beet salad with walnut chèvre, crab cake, the grouper 3 ways (the blackened was amazing!!) and the coriander dusted sea bass. Everything was spectacular! We saved no room for dessert but how could we when everything sounded and tasted so good!

Food was great but service was horrible. Lots of wait staff but we ended up with the slow waitress who wanted to be demeaning because we wanted to sit at a booth with our son who is 5. We were given the wrong menu and didn't receive the nice candy display dish like every other customer received when getting their bill. Took forever to get drinks and just felt like the entire wait staff was on another planet. Even though it was Easter at 11 am it really wasn't even that busy. I also made a reservation and had to wait for my table. Just didn't seem to have it together today. Very disappointed.

I've just had the best meal of my life... Birthday celebration at Azurea was a great memory. We were served by Duane and Anita and their service was flawless. Duane is also the sommelier and his wine recommendations were perfect for the entrees we ordered. The fennel dusted sea bass was perfectly cooked and it was light and buttery. The chef seasoned the dish perfectly and it was served with Yukon gold whipped potatoes that were fantastic. This dish won a James Beard award... We also ordered the diver scallops that were HUGE and so tender. It was served over blue corn grits with a creamy blue cheese sauce - that was light and not overpowering. A perfectly balanced blend of flavors and textures. Duane suggested a light Chardonnay that did not overpower, but complimented well both dishes. We shared both dishes and the chef gladly split the dishes and presented the combinations beautifully for both of us. After the meal, they surprised me with a flour less chocolate cake and a glass of Cabernet to boot. Both the manager and the chef visited our table, and it was an experience I will always remember fondly. And through it all, Anita worked perfectly with Duane to clean the table between courses, keep our water glasses full, and make us feel like honored guests. Highly recommended. A good wine list, very reasonably priced entrees, and a beautiful setting. Perfect place for a special dinner or just a very fine one...

Ok food, terrible service. Hostess had a terrible attitude. Ordered the 16oz ribeye. Ribeye was delicious, however for $42 I expected a decent garnish. It arrived w/the "garnish du jour", which was a broccoli "flan". It was a half-melted, tiny, gelatin mold which was vaguely broccoli tasting. Waitress forgot about us and we ended up being served by the person that was refilling water? Two guests were offered the gluten free bread which arrived after we finished our entrees. Prior to this, we had cocktails in the lounge while waiting on our reservation. Bar service was good, however our flatbread was rushed, soggy and confusing. It was obvious the chef was preoccupied with something else. Azurea is priced on the high end, however the food is mediocre. I'll return for drinks due to the beautiful location and atmosphere, but I cannot justify eating here again. They need a better chef. Look, if you're planning on charging guests that much money YOU NEED TO DELIVER. There are far better choices for the money.

Azurea is a jewel plus has a great ocean view. You can spend twice as much and get half the flavor and ambiance at other restaurants. My wife had the Carolina Black Grouper and I had the Yellow Tail Snapper. Both of these wild fish were excellent. The wait staff was very attentive and a manager stopped by to thank for coming. We have been here for brunch also with an equally positive experience. Five stars for sure!

THREE STRIKES AND YOU'RE OUT It is with sadness that I write this review. Because my husband and I have been to Azurea perhaps 10 times in the past for delicious leisurely lunches. The last time we went was with my out-of-town brother and SIL and my father. As on previous occasions - the meal was a solid 4 stars (and we've had the occasional 5 stars there as well). We had simply never been disappointed there - which is one reason I booked Thanksgiving lunch (I usually cook at home but that wasn't possible this year). Another was that the Thanksgiving menu was very interesting - looked great. So we arrived at 12:30 eagerly anticipating our meal. Strike one. My husband ordered a glass of Veuve Clicquot to start. It was flat (it was from a previously opened bottle - I don't know when the bottle had been opened - but I suspect it was the night before - a bottle of champagne won't go flat in an hour). Strike two. My father's dish was called "Braised Colorado Lamb Rack". I suppose if I had been paying close attention - I would have questioned a "braised" rack of lamb. Because who braises a rack of lamb? In any event - when the dish came out - it wasn't a rack of lamb - but a braised lamb shank. Now it might have been a great braised lamb shank. But my father - who lives in a senior facility that serves many inexpensive cuts of meat - was looking forward to a rack of lamb - an infrequent dining treat for him. Anyway - he sent the dish back - and got another (the scallops). He deemed the new dish satisfactory - but didn't seem thrilled (my husband and I tasted the dish and think my father's assessment was correct). Strike three. And here's where it gets a little weird. One of the things that attracted me about the menu was a wrapped stuffed "pheasant breast". So that's what I ordered. And what I got - well it tasted like chicken. Now I have very little experience with pheasant. A neighbor used to go hunting - and she always brought me back some pheasant breasts. Even when I cooked them at home - well the taste was special. And the taste of this somewhat overcooked fowl was nothing special. Anyway - I kind of shrugged it off until I got the menu back for dessert. And this menu said "wrapped chicken breast" - not pheasant. And - when I went outside to take a break - the staff at the front desk was replacing the original menu which said "pheasant" with new menus which said "chicken". In case anyone thinks I'm crazy - I brought copies of both menus home with me. Anyway - the restaurant did try to make good on all of this. My husband's glass of flat champagne was replaced with a fresh one from a new bottle. My father got a new main. My "pheasant" - which I was told when we were paying our bill had actually been "chicken" - was removed from the bill. But none of this should have happened in the first place. Not at a restaurant of this caliber at this price point. Also - it wasn't like the restaurant ran out of pheasant. Not at 12:30 pm. And - the restaurant obviously prints its menus in house. So - if a supplier didn't come through on Wednesday - the menus could have been changed on Thursday morning. As they were in fact changed in the middle of lunch service. FWIW - we can't fault the service or our server. She did her best considering that none of this was her fault and that she was receiving the brunt of our complaints. And I commend her for following through and doing her best to deal with our (IMO justified) complaints. Also - reservations was good at accommodating our request for a table for 3 at our preferred time. And the restaurant did seem on top of handling a large holiday crowd (if anything - the courses would have come out a little too fast for our taste had we not requested a rest between courses). Still - I was not a happy camper when I left. I've lived in Florida for a very long time. And have dined extensively in many places (in Florida - the US - many countries all around the world).. I don't ever recall having food that was "mislabeled" before - except on a couple of occasions in Florida fish restaurants where fish was labeled as - for example - more expensive red snapper - when it was a less expensive fish - like grouper (I know my Florida fish). My husband and I will probably return for lunch - just because we've had such good lunch experiences in the past. But I probably won't book this restaurant again for a special occasion and will be canceling our reservation for NYE. Once burnt - twice shy.

Restaurant: I have only been to Azurea for brunch and lunch. For special occasions or if there is family in town, my parents will reserve a table here because of the pleasing view (you can sit outside on the patio with a great view of the ocean). If this restaurant was not located on the oceanside, I'm not sure we would ever come here for a meal. The food is overpriced and hit-or-miss, and there are never drink specials. We ordered mimosas at brunch for our table and ended up paying a FORTUNE! The service has never been that stellar... usually something gets messed up and we wait a while. Bar: My boyfriend and I do commonly visit the bar inside for a drink before heading off to a reservation elsewhere, since we live so close to One Ocean. It is a good place to sit down for a drink or two and enjoy a nice atmosphere and view. However, with the drinks at $12, you really can only have one or two each before breaking the bank. I really like the bartenders at this bar. If you strike up a conversation with them, they are all very friendly and knowledgeable about the menu and the hotel.

I've never eaten a bad meal hear. Everything from the amazing Steaks to the signature Sea Bass is indescribable. Definitely a place you must try when in Jacksonville. Perfect setting, service and food.

First of all service and the atmosphere was great. We ordered a filet and a few sides.we got bread with different dips for free and it was still warm and delicious;the steak was probably the best I've ever had and it was cooked perfectly. The only downside is that it is pricey but definitely worth it!

I had wanted to try this seaside venue for a long time and was afterwards upset I had waited so long! Wasn't sure I could afford it but Sunday afternoon was a delightful lunch experience there in cost, taste, service, and presentation. My husband had the duck breast, which he found in flavor and portion very good, served over orzo pasta with a balsamic glaze and veggie bits. I chose scallops which were pristinely succulent atop a delicious vegetable and mango mixture! The desserts came in portions enough to share but we had each chosen our own - the creme brulee and a delicious citrus goat cheese cake with the edges encrusted in chocolate bits! They were both well-executed with great textures and presentation = added fruits of raspberries, blueberries or blackberries! Kudos to our chef and waiter! My husband enjoyed the Bold City brewery drafts they served and there is a very nice full bar nearby. I won't wait as long to go back to enjoy the setting if just for the extensive wine list. This place is a treasure of Atlantic Beach for sure!

We had a wonderful time at Azurea on 6/18/14. The service was impeccable. we were given free champagne and dessert for my friend's 50th birthday. Food was good but the only negative is I feel the prices are a bit high.

This is not just a restaurant, it's an experience. Starting with a large driveway entrance with valet, coming into an impressive entrance and turning down their iconic tunnel into the beautiful oceanfront is enough to make anyone anticipate a special meal. The waitstaff is very well trained, attentive but not annoying and knowledgeable about the menu and wine list. The bread basket itself is a delight, paired with pesto, butter, oil and a sundried tomato spread. The menu plays off classics but adds an unexpected element to each. The attention to detail is the icing on the cake- from the little flower petals added to the salad to the gold flake on the dessert. What an enjoyable evening in a beautiful location- we would be there to celebrate many occasions if we were local.

We ate here for New Years Eve and it was hands down the best meal I've ever had (considering I've eaten in cities like DC and NYC, this is huge to me). We had the 6 course prix fixe with the suggested wine flight and it was simply amazing. We started with a champagne shooter amuse bouche, followed the most amazing lobster bisque for the first course. The following courses were all equally delicious and unique, but the standouts for me were the seared ahi tuna with shiitake ginger risotto and goat cheese mousse with beet reduction, pesto, and arugula salad. Our waiter was knowledgeable and helpful, and the ambience was wonderful and visually stunning! If you have the chance, eating here is a must!!

I think that this restaurant is a little over priced for what you get. It's not the food is good it's to the food is 4 star in the prices are 5 star. Very slow the service can be hit or miss depending on the server we have had great service and we've had poor service very inconsistent. Nice hotel though.

(4)Gigi L.
This is my absolute favorite must go place in all of Jacksonville when I am there. The Foie Gras is amazing. The presentation is spectacular and the staff is first rate. I like to sit outside the bar by the crashing waves. Best in Jacksonville, easy.
(5)Christina T.

Great place to go for a drink during sunset. Very cool bar or you can sit outside and watch the suset while sitting by a fire.

(4)dan c.
(5)Claudia M.
(4)Rob M.
Fantastic Service. Fantastic food. Compared to other restaurants in the area in this price range, Azurea goes way above and beyond with their dining experience.
(5)Megan P.
We ate breakfast here. Everything was good. The sausage was too fat for me though.
(4)Steve F.
Food was great, service was average. Black grouper was awesome, crab cake was so so, desserts looked better than they tasted. Small, intimate dining room was nice, but one loud and boisterous table can kill the ambiance.
(4)Steffanie R.
(4)Reginald H.
(2)Parker G.
Fantastic service and food. A very special evening for a group of 12, and everyone at Azurea did a great job of accommodating my special requests and treating all guests exceptionally well. The tenderloin is something I will absolutely order again! And the dessert samplers were a huge hit with the group.
(5)Paul H.
The food was good, but some things were off. The Harris beef tenderloin was excellent. I love that they can good a steak to the desired level. Most places overcook medium rare on steak, but this place was perfect.
(4)Deborah F.
(5)Alex P.
(5)Anthony K.
(5)Jessica L.
I treated my mom to brunch here for Mother's Day a year ago and I still remember how great the brunch was. I haven't been here for dinner but I would definitely recommend coming here for brunch.
(4)Aryn N.
What an amazing experience! The food was absolutely delicious! Our server Chance made our experience so worth it! Thanks for making my birthday special!
(5)Crissy S.
(5)Joanne F.

(5)Shaun M.

The frozen hot chocolate is the best can't wait to have it again.
(5)Bill F.
