I have been here a couple times. A great place to go after floating the river all day. Each time that I have been here my experience was nothing more than outstanding. The staff is incredibly nice and prompt with their service. Their margaritas (I have only ordered the house margaritas) are just like I love them... strong and tasting like tequila... mmmm. The food comes out pretty quick and always hot. Taste wise... one of my favorite Mexican restaurants in Florida. They decor and environment is awesome both inside and out. I enjoy sitting on the patio which is surrounded by plants. I love Mexican restaurants that serve complimentary chips and salsa especially when the salsa is as delicious as Garibaldi's. The right amount of spice and the great amount of flavor. I would say however their chips are made fresh and are super yummy but not very salted.... I like my chips salty so add salt myself at the table, but I know some people who would love the fact that they are not overly pre salted. Some of the dishes I have ordered was the burrito special adding a side of rice and beans... the burrito was awesome. Got it with ground beef, it was topped with a sauce, lettuce, sour cream and guac. Love their Spanish rice which has small chunks of tomatoes and corn in it. I have also ordered their chimichanga meal which comes with rice. The chimichanga was very delicious, again ordered the beef which were very tender beef cut into cubes and seasoned to perfection. I highly recommend this venue and you can't beat great service, great food, and some strong margaritas... ;-)

Great place for margaritas. Chips and salsa are fresh and made in house. We eat here at least once or twice every couple weeks. Enchiladas are really good. Especially the supreme. Also, try the carne asada tacos. Load on the cilantro and hot sauce. Usually gets packed between 6:00-9:00.

I haven't been here in a while but I remember why, it is deafeningly loud. We arrived in time to be seated with no wait. Soon after it was packed at six pm. Our drinks and orders came out quickly and refills were abundant. None of us complained as the flavors were perfect. Speaking of how loud it is, I can barely hear myself think. If you are on a date please ask to be seated out side. You will never get to know each other if you are seated inside. They have a bar section but the loudness is just as bad over on that side as it is anywhere else except the bathrooms. I had heard complaints previously that the kitchen failed inspections. However based on the number of people here and the fact the owner hasnt been in the news I would say they fixed that problem or none of the customers knew or cared. Parking is plentiful. Staff is friendly. Prices are fair. Service is quick. I will return again but maybe for lunch when it might not hurt my ears so much.

Dined here for lunch yesterday after Rock springs with a few others. This is a nice restaurant, cute and bright interior, really nice bar and nice covered patio that we were seated in. I tend to stick with the house margarita, they're tasty, cheap and they are potent! You can taste the tequila! Fresh salsa and chips are complimentary. I ordered the enchiladas supremas, one of each enchiladas with salad, sour cream and guac on top. Yum. The service is super friendly and accommodating. Child was bored so I went to front counter in search of crayons and coloring book. The host went to great extent looking for me (and found!) Which was very much appreciated. The whole table was pleased with their food and the waiter attentive. Prices are reasonable too! I noticed they also had a variety of seafood on menu, and even a hamburger for the kid. We will definitely be dining here again!

OK..well i've seen a lot of positive reviews about this restaurant. I have eaten there a lot of times in the past...but this is my last visit there. The positive: I sat at the bar because the place was busy as usual. I ordered a house margarita and it was huge..they do put a lot of tequila in their drinks which on of the positive things. Also since it was happy hour the house margarita were $2.99, which is a steal. I also ordered the nachos with chicken and it was good. The negative: The music is very loud. The kitchen was a bit slow on the order of nachos, i'm guessing since it was busy that could be one of the reason. Now the reason why I won't go back is because I saw a cockroach crawling. That was just disturbing. I know any place that deals with food will have these creatures but this was my first time ever seeing one in the open in a restaurant. Aside from that, the drink was good.

Ok, so we have officially crossed Garibaldi off our list. Not only were they closed down for repeated health code violations (roach infestation!) but there were rumors of credit card skimming. Apparently management knew of the some of the problems but was slow to react. Since the media got a hold of the story they have put a lot of effort into pest control and kitchen renovations. Still, we are just not comfortable returning and have found a new go to Mexican restaurant.

First time here with friends for lunch.... Service was prompt and food was good... Great prices....my tropical fruit margarita could have been a little stronger and a little less sweet (hence my one star deduction). Overall we will for sure go back.

Holy Fajita!!!!! Thank you Mexican Gods for allowing me to enter this sacred place! I came here to grab a quick bite for dinner and wish I could have stayed longer. We ordered the fajitas for 2! O-M-G *insert drool* grilled steak, chicken, pork and shrimp piled high with sautéed green peppers and onions. What did I do to deserve such a blessing??? It was hot and the flavor was nice. It came with the standard rice, beans, guac, pico and lettuce. The soft tacos were warm and ready for fajita making. Wow...just wow. The chips and salsa was pretty standard. Kinda tastes like it's from Publix. If I could have that fajita with Chuy's chips and salsa I might have went straight into a mexi-coma! If you are looking for some great Mexican food this place is a must! Go! RIGHT NOW!

I have been going to Garibaldi's for many years, way before you moved next door to the larger restaurant. The service at the old restaurant location was impeccable. I have noticed the service going down a bit in the last couple of years but still a passing grade. On June 27th My daughter and I stopped to eat and noticed the temperature was about 85 degrees inside the restaurant, obviously you had a unit down but when I questioned the greeter at the front desk the only thing she said "is do you want to stay and eat or not?" OK I guess she likes a hot restaurant, strange customers all around me were complaining to each other about the temperature. The waitress came and took our drink order (water) about 12 minutes later it came and we placed our meal order. My Daughter had Enchiladas Supreme and I had Chili Verdi. The order came out in twenty minutes, expectable considering the crowd. She did her job by coming back in ten minutes to ask how everything was and I said "not well". "I would like some hot sauce and why had my portion size of Chili Verdi get smaller this visit?" She abruptly walked away, it was like I was talking to thin air. My Daughter is handicapped with Cerebral Palsy even picked up on it and said that was just rude. Now let's talk about the portion size, remember I have been coming here for years, this time the beans and rice covered 65% of the plate and the Chili Verdi was spread thin on the other part of the plate. I always get three extra tortillas and there is a lot left over after filling the tortillas. Not this time I barely made the last tortilla before running out. Finally when the waitress asked me again toward the end of the meal how was everything? I told her she walked away from the table last time and wouldn't listen to my complaint and request. This time she listened but only said she was sorry, never said let me get you a manager. I asked my Daughter what she thought, and got a well Dad it just wasn't like all my other meals here, she also said even the lettuce was about half of what they put on top of the enchiladas. I spotted it right away but if she is happy I don't say anything. I am a Vietnam Veteran and am 70 years old, I always leave a tip even if the service is poor I just reduce it, not this time, I wrote BAD SERVICE and no tip! I can't in retrospect return to you restaurant and I think I will write a yelp review on this service. This was sent to their corporate office and no response after two weeks. I did a fallow up telling them if I didn't get a reply I would have to do a unhappy customer review. Again no reply, I am very said to say goodbye to this establishment.

This is the place to go for Mexican food in the Wekiva area; head and shoulders above the rest. Got here during rush hour on a Friday night, table for two seated immediately. Chips and salsa on the table before we are even seated. The best margaritas and piña coladas, bar none. Food arrived swiftly and our server was amazing. Saw another couple from our neighborhood having a great meal as well. Que Bueno!

Yup, this one got five stars. Why? Here is why: We stumbled across this restaurant completely by chance. We were shopping in this area, which is not our usual stomping grounds. After shopping we were very hungry and the smell wafting from this restaurant was just fantastic. As soon as we walked in our host was genuinely nice, sat us in an excellent table in the corner. I was very pleasantly surprised to hear some Wilfrido Vargas (Merengue) over the sound system as opposed to Reggaeton or Salsa (I am looking at YOU MIAMI, because that is ALL you play anywhere and I effectively hate both because of it). Sure Merengue isn't typical Mexican, but hey, I'll take it. I felt like getting up and busting some hip action out. So far, good music, nice staff. The menu has so many options you can't go wrong, seriously, you just can't. As we perused the menu we had the tortilla chips with salsa. I loved the flavor of the Salsa and I don't normally like red ones. I much prefer green tomatillo, but this was really tasty. It had an ingriedient I couldn't put my finger on, but really made it pop. I ordered the Vegetarian Enchiladas with refried beans on the side. Honestly, it was so much food I couldn't even touch the beans. The flavors were great. I really enjoyed my dish. I sampled the grilled veggies in my hubby's quesadilla and have decided that next time I am having the Vegetarian Fajitas because they were delicious. Of course we had Margaritas, they were well spiked so we had to sit for a bit. Oh the flan? DELISH! And home made. Score. We will make the trek to come back, we truly enjoyed our experience there.

Incredible food for reasonable prices. We have passed by this restaurant many times and it's always packed. That sparked our interest, so we decided to check it out and I am so glad that we did. The guacamole was on point! Everything was on point!

Good local Mexican spot in Apopka. I've always had good and fast service, reasonable prices, and my entrees have always been good. There is a nice happy hour drink menu where you can get margaritas for $3. I appreciate the large menu with many veggie choices. My favorite dish is the the veggie quesadillas.

Grew up with a garibaldi's next to my house and it wAs literally the best. Figured this one would be the same. But no way. This one was gross, no taste. Not what I expected. I ate probably of 1/4 of my burrito and they didn't think to ask me if everything was ok. Never again.

This is a true Mexican restaurant ...Paint Squad of Orlando enjoys the drinks, food and professionalism they delayed with my staff. Paint of Orlando's favorite authentic Mexican restaurant!!!

Use to eat here all the time but have moved away. The service was great as well as the food and atmosphere. Will always hit this place when I'm in the area.

  • Amber W.

I can't help but wonder if Apopka's lack of choices has something to do with how well rated Garibaldi's has been. Even a recent shutdown for health code violations hasn't deterred many of its fans. I don't get it, Central Florida. While I don't expect authentic Mexican food when I go to a Mexican restaurant, I do expect something that tastes good. The refried beans that accompany most dishes seem to flip from bland one visit to inedibly oversalted the next. Steak pieces (whether they be in a burrito or fajita) are overcooked and often chewy. And you know that special flavor chicken gets after being reheated in a microwave? I've tasted it one time too many when dining here. I can only imagine that the place remains in business for their cheap margaritas - which, granted, after a few of those, most anything tastes decent. The cleanliness leaves much to be desired as well. I've encountered more than my fair share of sticky menus, tables, and booths. I give the place two stars since I've never encountered an impolite server there and believe the place should get credit for that at least. If you're stuck in Apopka and looking for cheap margaritas, then I guess you could sit outside and stick to some chips and salsa. Or better yet, grab some Chipotle and head to the liquor store on the way home.

Great Food, Huge Margaritas. This place is busy because you get good value for your money.

I've visited this Garibaldi's location for many years and I'm definitely a fan. The atmosphere and quality/promptness of service is always what make it a good visit. The margaritas are great here and the remodeling that has been completed in recent years definitely sets this place apart. I would recommend a change to the table salsa. Compared to out Mexican restaurants I visit, the salsa here seems below average. I will definitely continue to visit this location and recommend to friends!

A great Mexican restaurant and an extensive menu. Very noisy however Service is always good and So is the food. Pollo garibaldi is an excellent dish as are the steak garibaldi quesadillas

Fantastic, authentic Mexican cuisine! My wife is from Mexico and she loves that traditional fare... the bar is also very nice and the drinks are generous! Highly recommend!

Not terrible/not great. I wouldn't strongly deter anyone from going here. If you really like Mexican food you should be satisfied. Guacamole is mediocre at best but the fajitas and taco bowls are pretty solid. Margaritas are average as well.

Okay, personally, I grew up on the East Coast, and a little in the Midwest, so my idea of Mexican food was very limited until I started traveling. Tex Mex is awesome and the Mexican food I have had in California is the best in the US, and having been to Mexico City many times, that is truly the best of course. Still, I was accepting local Mexican places until I got married to a woman from Bakersfield, California, so one I moved her to Florida, we started our quest for Mexi-Cali food. After trying nearly everything in the Central Florida area and nearly giving up, we tried Garabaldi, and finally, my wife approved- and I realized what I had been missing for so long in Florida. While still not as good as the places we went in California, this is the best you will find in the Orlando area. We have been there dozens of times to get our "fix" and they always hit the spot. Chips and salsa are good, they serve tacos as they are supposed to be served- in a soft flour or corn tortilla. But they have crunchy ones, too, if that's your preference. They were lacking on the guacamole, but on a recent visit, they have revamped the menu and now have AWESOME handmade guac. Now if they could just offer a tableside version, we would be in heaven. Rice and beans are good, the queso dip is awesome, enchiladas, shrimp, steak, all good. The atmosphere is nice and the servers are ALWAYS friend and FAST!

Always great strong margaritas! Plenty of food in the portions and I never had anything I didn't like here. People are gonna complain about anything but I'll continue to eat here w my fam and friends! Service has always been good for me!

  • Jennifer S.

All depends what you're looking for. Definitely not a family restaurant anymore, more of a meat market if you want my humble opinion. So noisy conversation is almost impossible. The prices have gone up too. On the plus side, the food is good, the drinks are nice and strong (I recommend the mojitos), and if you sit outside it can be a nice occasion. So kind of a mixed review.

Great food. It truly is, but the kitchen is DISGUSTING. They recently got nailed and even got media attention for their violations. It's a shame because I loved this place.

Not all Garibaldis are created equal. This one in Apopka needs work. Maybe I should have gone to El Potro but I went with what I thought would be a sure shot but it was more like I needed one after the lackluster meal and even worse service by my waiter. Buyer beware

Love the fajitas for two! This is one of our families favorites when we're craving Mexican food! Always have had fast friendly service and never been disappointed with the food or drinks!

I'm not sure where all of the love is coming from for this place. It has decent food, the portions are large, and the service was good, but it seems to be just an overall average Mexican restaurant. We were seated over in the bar area at a high top table, and as other reviewers have noted, it felt like we were in a club trying to shout over blaring music. I'll never understand why restaurants do that, unless they are trying to get you to hurry up and leave once your food is done. We all liked the chips and salsa. I ordered a chicken entree layered with cheese and chorizo. It had decent flavor, but was overcome by the massive amount of grease. My wife ordered the Molcajete Dona Pepa, which was just insanely massive, but lacked overall flavor. Overall, this place benefits from a lack of competition in the area, large portions, and good pricing, but falls short in atmosphere and taste.

  • Bob A.

First off, this place serves "american" mexican food. You know.... ground beef, shredded cheddar, iceberg lettuce wrapped in a tortilla. I have no problem with that but understand that going in. Food was solid and portions and were large.... and the price! Very reasonable, especially for the quantity of the food you get. Salsa was very good, not watery with a good strong flavor. Margaritas are tasty and very strong. My brother ordered the Sampler Platter for $12 and it came out on 3 plates! A serious bargain for anybody with a big appetite. Solid restaurant that gives good solid food and a great price.

This location is the best hands down the margaritas nice and strong the piña coladas to die for guacamole a must I can go on and on about how delicious this is

Three stars for speed of service and tasty salsa. The food was just so so. This place used to be an awesome place to eat but now I'm not so sure. My friend ordered chicken nachos and they had potatoes and carrots on them??? Never have I seen nachos like that. I had the chicken chimi and it was just ok. Nothing spectacular...the guac was runny and I swear the chicken was from a can!! Gonna pass on this place as there are much better Mexican places in the area!

My brother and I have been eating here for at least 13 years, since my nephew was born. Same great food and service as it was 13 years ago. Which is a little surprising since it has changed ownership a few times. 5 stars for the food and for the recent remodel. I have not been inside since they completed the remodel but it was a great surprise! They've expanded to include a great bar area. They also brightened up the space with some great lighting. At first the neon lights took me by surprise, but by the end of our meal I realized it was a great reflection on the fun, relaxed atmosphere that Garibaldi's offers. Every time we eat here I try something new (the spicier, the better) and I've never once been disappointed. There area lot of great choices on the menu and it is very reasonably priced.

I had lunch here with friends yesterday amd the food is always good here. The rice and beans are bothe excellent. Some items are made a little differently than at other Mexican restaurants but most of the dishes are awesome. Some others are above average.

We came and were seated at a high top in the bar section, which is right next to the main dining room. They have the music so loud that you feel like you are at a Mexican club, and not a restaurant. Right off the bat we have a female bartender ask us for our drinks. She walks away before we are finished ordering and when she came back she had attitude when we asked for another drink and she says very snippy "I thought you were done ordering." We end up ordering our food with a different server. It was pretty clear that our servers were also the bar tenders and spent ALMOST all of their time at the bar.Trying to get their attention was near impossible. Finally we go get a manager and ask where our food is, and it must have been a miracle because all of a sudden we were getting plenty of attention from our original servers. They ask if they can get us anything, and we sarcastically say our food...and maybe some water? Finally our food comes and our main dishes were warm (not hot) and our sides of rice and beans were cold. The guacamole was bland, runny and had no taste. I guess you have to pay for the upgrade to get decent guacamole. We expressed our displeasure at the wait to our server and to the manager, and they offer no form of compensation. Overall this place was a joke and made Taco Bell look like a 5 star restaurant.

Exceptional We have been to most of the Mexican restaurants in the Orlando area and this one is great!! Hit chips, spicy salsa, best Mocajete. Chicken enchilada is filled with pieces of chicken instead of shreds. Everything is so good. Gotta go eat!!

We have eaten Mexican food all over the country. This is NOT one that I would consider returning to or recommend that anyone visit. While the hostess/waitress was certainly accommodating, that is where the positives end. We were taken to a booth that was so small, we couldn't breath in the space between the seat and the table. (This is a known problem- the booths are not secured to the floor and "shift" during the day... They don't know how to fix this to assure customer comfort?) we moved ourselves to a table. Strike one. The tables and menus were sticky, denoting in my mind marginal attention to cleanliness. Strike two. The fajitas for two had fat laden beef pieces and inconsistently sized shrimp. We asked for no beans/ double rice, guacamole on the side. That request come out on one plate- the other plate was as listed on the menu- beans, rice and guacamole . The rest of the food was poorly seasoned. Strike three. The tortillas were 6" sized and the 6 we received were too small for the meal. Any additional was $.75. Strike four. Then, the final problem, the noise level didn't allow for conversation with my husband. It sounded like an old diner with plates banging together and a loud buzz in the background. The voices seemed to amplify over time. Strike five..... And they are OUT.......

Food is authentic and the servers stay on too of their game even on a busy Sunday after church. I haven't found my favorite yet on the menu.. But the food and atmosphere is great. We enjoy this place, a lot.

Funny story: last weekend, my friend and I visited Garibaldi I, only to see its parking lot empty. We were confused because it was dinner time; the place should have been busy. Then we looked across the way, and saw the new, improved Garibaldi restaurant. The restaurant relocated into a renovated building only some yards away. I've never been to Garibaldi I, so I don't know what the interior looked like. However, comparing the exteriors of the old and the new buildings, I could tell the new restaurant is an improvement, inside and out. I had the Flautas Mexicanas dish. It was delicious, especially with the hot sauce:-). I look forward to coming back here and trying other dishes from the menu.

I grew up coming to this location and it's still holding it down as a great choice for Mexican in Central FL. We had just spent a day at the parks and were in the mood for a great veggie-friendly meal. We were so pleased with everything. The joint was packed for a Thursday night and the service was hoppin'. Not one person was standing around. These guys were hustling and it was wonderful to be taken care of so quickly. The chips and salsa they serve has been some of the best I've had in quite some time. The salsa is actually pretty spicy and houses and obvious jalapeño kick. We went through two baskets of chips! They were offering $5 margs so we ordered one for the two of us. Not a huge fan of tequila, but their marg was splendid. I ordered the bean burrito and mushroom quesadilla dinner. The rice and beans were textbook and the mushroom quesadilla was fantastic. I can't say I've had anything like that before at your standard Mexican restaurant. Great sautee on the shrooms and the tortilla wasn't slathered in butter or oil. Just a crispy exterior, a hint of cheese, and a great mushroom flavor. The bean burrito was pretty standard. Just what I expected and I was very pleased. For the price, this place is a steal. I'd come back in a heartbeat.

Walking up to this location I realized it was much more stimulating visually than the location on East Semoran Boulevard. You can see the vivid neon lighting behind the bar area from the outside of the restaurant. Walking through the busy patio area to enter the restaurant made me not want to sit outside. The place was packed on a Friday night and with good reason. We were informed there was a wait but seated well before the stated wait time. Once seated our server brought the chips & Salsa and took our drink orders. The Margarita were On Point!! They were not stingy with the alcohol either. Someone DD please! The service was fast and the food was good. He ordered the carne asada and I got the crab cheese dip. He almost dropped to one knee for his dish. Mine was not that good but I have dined at this location before and its always been very good. I love the enchiladas. I gave the restaurant 4 stars because I love the feel, the lighting and the food. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because of the patio in the front. I feel the patio should be in the rear and allow more privacy to the patio diners. Thats just my preference though! I would absolutely recommend this location or the Semoran location to anyone in search of good Mexican cuisine.

Their chicken soup will cure all of your ills! Try it. The shrimp on my salad was perfectly grilled. I have not tried the "dangerous" margaritas. The place seems to be always busy. Everyone I know only has good things to say about this place. If you're a Mexican food fan, this may be the ticket!

Chips and salsa that arrive before your butt warms the seat, generous servings of tasty food, a large array of menu items, and amazing drinks all seem to make this place a hit with the locals, from families to office parties, couples to singles... it's a very busy place! Arrive after 6:00 most evenings, but especially on Fri/Sat, and you'll be waiting for a table. We've been a few times, and the service has been hit or miss - mostly hit (very efficient, with one exception), and usually friendly, with a few exceptions, but all in all, definitely worth returning again and again. After eating there a few times now, we've noticed that the 'regulars' seem to get the friendlier service - a cultural or language issue?? Not sure.... One notable exception to the food is the guacamole, one of my top THREE fave foods on the planet (!)....Garibaldi's guac is smooth, not chunky with bits of fresh avocado and red onion, like you would expect. It doesn't appear to be homemade or authentic, and lacks any real flavor, but everything else is fantastic!! *Kind of a big disappointment in a Mexican restaurant, wouldn't you agree? But all other items make up for it. Prices are reasonable, usually about $22.00 for Hubs and myself, without drinks (we're both diabetic, so sugary drinks are not an option, though we do get the occasional beer, and then our bill is $30 ish). Plenty of well-lit parking in the shopping plaza lot, and a movie theater a walk away... all in all, a great date night or family night location! Perhaps we'll see you there! P.S. Fix the guac and offer consistently friendly service, and five stars it will be! :)

Love this place, I'm actually here now. The margaritas are great (strong) and the tacos and fajitas are fantastic and a great value. The dining area is a bit loud so it can be difficult to hold a conversation without asking to "can you repeat that" several times. The service is usually fantastic. You will get your chips and salsa within 60 seconds of sitting down (count it and see)!

Apopka lacks good food spots that aren't chain restaurants so this place is a welcomed spot by the area residents. Cheap lunch, good dinner, and strong margaritas. Get there early because it's typically slammed.

This was our first visit. It was raining hard but the restaurant was full. We were seated within 10 minutes. Served chips & salsa immediately followed y the conscientious waiter. He was very helpful, answered my questions with a smile. Food served steaming hot. Our waiter kept returning to make certain we were enjoying our meal. Only complaint my husband had ( after we left) that he would have liked more cheese on top of the chicken Echiladas.

The fish tacos are probably the best I have had in this area. They recently expanded and have a nice sized bar attached to the restaurant now. Also, I have not tried them myself, but I was told that the carne asada was really good too. They offer seating inside or out, and they are usually pretty busy, so be prepared for a little wait if you come on the weekends. You do get chips and salsa right as you sit down, so if you come hungry, at least you have that to snack on while you are waiting for your food.

Service was not so good. Server never offered to refill our drinks or bring more salsa and was sitting up at cashier speaking with another server almost the whole time we were there. Salsa was very tasty and so were the fajitas. Beef taco was ok. Chicken enchilada was not so good. Tasted like it came out of a box or had been frozen for quite some time. Nachos tasted like something was going bad on them, old guacamole maybe.

Good food!! Service is quick, staff is friendly, Margarita's are tasty and I absolutely love the steak chimichangas

This place is close to where we live and we frequent it a lot! The tacos carne asada are our favorite dish in the house, but we have yet to have a bad meal! The service is always quick. The new addition to the place is much welcome as it has cut the wait down in the weekends. No matter when we go it seems that this place is always busy! Be careful of the drinks....they can be dangerously strong and sneak up on you!

Went for dinner and was very disappointed. Service was weak - food was just ok - sangria was from bottle that we buy at Publix. Guacamole was smooth - like it was put through a blender and was extremely salty - like a cheap store brand. We were very excited to try this restaurant after reading the reviews but was a big letdown.

super strong margaritas and excellent Fajitas!! they are enough to share and have left overs!!!

The atmosphere is fun and the food is good! We like Garibaldi's and that's mom, dad, 13 year old, and 8 year old. The wait was about 20 minutes on a busy Saturday night at 8 p.m. - the place was slammed and we had drinks at the bar. Margaritas are excellent and when we were seated shortly after, they got us a refill fast. The food came out quickly as well and while we waited, the chips and salsa kept coming. Fun music throughout made it seem like the best party in town - at one time, my daughter got up and danced :) Good times at Garibaldi's!

Garibaldi does have good food at a great price. You are welcomed with fresh chips and a salsa that is just the right flavor. Great Drinks...

Chimi and chili relleno. Sat on the patio. Excellent service and great food that is a level above you average Mexican restaurant. We were very happy to find this gem in the middle of a strip mall.

service was terrible. Food was horrible. Took almost 2 hrs to get r food. New bar area..seems like making money has taken over presedence over quality. More of a drunken atmosphere than a restaurant. Never again:(

Authentic? as the sign says. About as authentic as a snowball in Gaudalajara. Ground beef & cubed chicken in the enchiladas! Personally, I can't recommend this place at all. Too much "bling" lights, music. Food was hot, and the chips & salsa were good but that's not enough to save this place. Margaritas were huge but of poor quality. You get the picture!

It's like eye-candy for your taste buds. Delicious, delectable, savory, and mouth-wateringly divine. Get ready to give your taste-buds an ultimate Mexican sensation. And man will they thank-you for it. From the drunken-stupor creating, over-sized margaritas to the sizzling fajitas, everything here is absolutely delightful. So much so that my parents go religiously every Friday night. If you're going on a weekend night, get there early because it does get packed. But it's well worth the wait. Just make sure to indulge in a 2-person sized margarita to tide you over. Friendly, energetic atmosphere and a great staff certainly compliment the savory food. Definitely a great place for date night, family night or a solo trip.

I love this place. The food is always good and they have the BEST margaritas. They don't skimp on the liquor. It's always packed on a Friday and Saturday night - but well worth the wait.

I am happy to report that I have FINALLY, in the 12 years that I have been in Florida, found a good Mexican place! I am pretty picky. My step Mom is Mexican and while NOTHING comes close to her home made food, this place does a decent job trying. I had a chicken burrito. It was massive. I couldn't finish it all but that is a good thing. I also tried the Guac and the fresh salsa was very tasty. Here is a tip. If you ask, they will bring you hotter salsa. However I found that the hotter salsa was just hot with no real flavor so I mixed the hot and the mild together to make a tasty hybrid. Tom got the fajitas and he seemed pretty pleased. I also had a mango margarita and it was so tasty and you could actually taste the tequila. I really had to hold back to get another but we had plans so I reluctantly did. The wait staff was the only thing holding this back from being a five star. While they were perfectly polite, it was a game day and they all seemed much more interested in the game than actually helping the customers. I saw a few of them standing and watching T.V., seemingly with nothing else to do. Thankfully our waiter was decent. Again, not WONDERFUL but not bad either. I am really excited to have a Mexican place that I actually like nearby and I will definitely be back.

!Me encanta este restaurante! The food is absolutely delish and it's always fast and fresh. There are a ton of items to choose from on the menu--from your usual tacos and burritos to more regional favorites like pollo a la ranchero and carne guisada. The drinks are great, too, but be sure to have a DD because they definitely don't skimp on the alcohol here. One of the best Mexican places in Orlando. A must try!

I have been to many a mexican restaurant, I have to say this is worth the venture out. I have gotten good service each time i have been here. Had a pleasant experience having dinner at the bar with a new bartender was quick on refills and check backs. This was a busy night too.. Will defifnitely be back!

Cinco de Mayo was boppin' at Garibaldi's! There were free tequila shots and great margarita specials. My dinner was terribly unhealthy, but pretty delicious. Chimmi's will never disappoint you at Garibaldi's, or queso, or chips.. or rice and beans.. Fat kid. I digress, the service was quick even though the tables, and street, was packed full!

The food is great but the service in the bar is exceptionally slow.

Better than average strip mall Mexican restaurant. Carne Asada tacos tasted like street tacos from Mexico city and the cancan salad had good grilled seafood flavor.

When I want Mexican, I go here. Not as wild about there (2008) remodel but it has nothing to do with the food or service. The food stands out. From the start the salsa is fresh and the white queso rocks. The Margaritas are a little too good - be careful. Most on the menu will please and check out the a la carte items - a lot of food for a little $$. Weekends have a short wait but it's worth it.

Been here about 3 times in total. The last time it was with a big group from work and it was during lunch. I cannot recall what I ordered but the delicious white melted cheese was all over my beef and chicken burritos (I think they were). The server was attentive with drinks, the amount was pretty darned good for the HUGE amount of food I ate. The chips for the salsa were very hot and when dipped into the salsa, were excellent! On a previous visit, I had the fried ice cream - OMG. Talk about a huge tasty treat. It took two of us to eat it.

Seriously the best Mexican dining experience available. The food is phenomenal, the margaritas are out of this world! This is the place my fiance and I go to when we don't know where to go. We love, love, love Garibaldi's! We will usually order dinner and share a $20 pitcher of the best margarita's you will ever have! Highly recommended. We're moving away soon and will be sure to make this our dining destination when we return.

Since I am originally from Texas, I consider myself a snob when it comes to Mexican (Tex-Mex) Food. I don't think that there are Mexican restaurants in Orlando that can compare to Mexican restaurants in Texas, but if I need Mexican then I head to Garibaldi's (I call is 'baldi's for short). The food is always consistent as well as the prices over the years. If you want a bang for your buck on a Margarita, head to baldi's, $8.50 for a 28 ounce rita with decent alcohol content--can't beat that! The super special dinner (it's kind of hidden on the menu) is a super good deal, two full plates of food for $10 (i believe). I also enjoy the tres tacos with the beef, cilantro and onions. It is a fun, friendly atmosphere and I have never had a problem with service.

Food is great!! Burrito California is one of my favorites. It's HUGE and delicious. The chips and salsa are always fresh and some of the best house salsa I've had. I've also had the fish tacos and the Chicken Loco which are great.

¡Hola Amigos! I first discovered the Garibaldi located on 436 and 50 about 8 years ago and I became a fan. Then, when my sister moved to Altamonte Springs a few years ago, we discovered they opened up another location near her home. The owners aren't the same, so we didn't know if the good would be better or worse. To our surprise the menu is much more extensive and the food is equally (if not better) delicious! They have indoor and outdoor seating, I always choose to sit outside, not only because they have a very pleasant patio, but because the inside has a distinct smell (in which I can't detect what it is) that really turns me off. Apparently I am the only one that smells it, because the place is packed and neither my sister or my mom complained about it. We ended up sitting outside, immediately after the server comes out with tortilla chips that are warm and crunchy and a salsa that may be too spicy for some (but not for me- I can take extreme heat). After we ordered it didn't take more than 7 to 10 minutes for our delicious food to come out! As you can see in the photos, my sister ordered a Chicken Chimichanga, delicious and moist! Generally I find that the Chimichangas are dull and dry, but this was awesome, drowning in queso served with yellow rice and re fried beans. My mom ordered the Chille Relleno, also smothered in queso and served with rice and beans and I had my all time favorite, the Dona Pepa! It is a steak, chorizo, chicken and shrimp fajita that is served in a sizzling rock! The flavors are amaaaazing, it is the only dish I order when I go to Garibaldi, no other Mexican restaurant serves something with these flavors (not even the Garibaldi on 50!) . For dessert we ordered the flan, it's nothing special, just a regular flan. *Tip - don't order the margaritas there - too sweet, too much sour mix, too much tequila. Just skip it and go with a Daiquiri instead) Definitely worth paying a visit if you're in an ¡Ay, Ay, Ay Mood! garibaldisemoran.com

Food and drinks are good and it has a fun atmosphere but it gets very very crowded so prepare to wait at night. The bar area doesn't really fit with a Mexican restaurant. Bartenders are a little slow.

I had eaten at another Garibaldi location in town and was NOT a fan of the white melting cheese that was used in my quesadilla, but I decided to give this location a try since they're right by my house. I had the steak tacos (3) - and the presentation and flavor got me absolutely hooked on this style of taco. If you've never had a proper mexican steak taco on a soft corn tortilla with chopped white onion, and a pile of fresh cilantro - you are missing out!

It says "Authentic Mexican..."... it should say "Attempted Mexican". This place gives Mexican food a bad name. The food was okay, but the service was SO bad, I couldn't wait to come home and trash this place online. I've never written a bad review, it just doesn't seem right, but I HAD to do everyone a favor and write something. The music was too loud, the "enchilada sauce" was made out of Campbell's Tomato Soup plus some peppers (if you go, try it and tell me I'm wrong). The carne asada tacos were decent, the one good thing about this place. The food came quickly, and we were a party of 8, so that is a plus for them as well. Garibaldi Mojito= Sugar water, mint leaves, alcohol, soda water, Sprite. It tasted terrible. I asked the waiter to take some sugar, lime, and mint and crush it at the bottom of the glass, then add soda water and alcohol. This is how a mojito is made. He said he could do it, but he'd have to charge me again for the alcohol. I handed him his terrible drink. Never going back!

Been here several times and have always had solid Mexican food. The enchiladas, carne asada tacos, fajitas, etc are all tasty. Try a bowl of queso with their chips, although the salsa is good too. The prices are very reasonable and service is usually on point. Not a bad choice for dinner in Apopka

  • Marc G.

Haven't been to Garibaldi's in years. I'll explain why shortly. But this evenings meal was very good, in fact, even better then expected. Had the Burritos Mexicanos which were excellent. Well done job & my guest had the Chimichanga, which he said was very good. Of course, there is the requisite chips & salsa. The salsa had a kick to it, which I quite enjoyed. The Margaritas were also delicious & definitely had enough alcohol in them. The reason that I have not been here for many years even though many friends have raved about the place, is that the two times that I went, both myself & my partner got ill. It was just too much of a coincidence. With that said, I will be returning again. There is nothing fancy about the place. This surely isn't fine dining, but the food is very good & I think a good value as well.

I love this place. I've been going here for over 5 years at least once every 1-2 months and have always had a great meal. It's decent Mexican food and the margarita's are probably the best in Central Florida. If you're there for dinner and like fajita's - check out the Dona Pepe and you will be fat and happy :)

Great food as always when we come south to Apopka for a visit once a year. The difference this time is the new bar area. Decorated like a dance club and as loud as one was very disappointing. There were five of us and we were seated at a tall table that was next to an opening looking into the bar area. The music was so loud the waitress couldn't hear us nor could we hear her. There was a large table of party people very close to us. They were very loud but I think they couldn't hear each other either. I realize our group of 5 out of lots of customers doesn't make a bit of difference to the waitress but when we asked to turn the dance music down a bit she could have made an attempt to do it. When asked for the second time she just shrugged and said they wouldn't do it. As a matter of fact she was quite rude to us and ignored us after we ate. So if your looking for a great little Mexican restaurant where you can enjoy the atmosphere and visit, don't go here. If your of the younger crowd and love the Zumba music then by all means this is your place. Even our daughter that frequents the place quite regularly was not happy. Will I eat here again?? Maybe...if it changes when I get this way!

Great food. I got the Chimichanga and it was very good. Authentic appearing ambience. I didn't have one myself, but everyone raved about their margaritas and they certainly looked massive too.

I'm not sure why this place has received wonderful reviews because our experience was not so pleasant. Maybe my expectations were too high because of the yelp reviews but this was one of the worst Mexican restaurants I have ever been to. When we arrived the hostess/waitress was rude when seating us. I asked where the restroom was and she pointed and said "over there." The place is not huge but she could have been a little more polite. I do have to say the chips and salsa were great! I ordered a side of guacamole. HORRIBLE!!! When I go to a Mexican restaurant I expect guacamole made from fresh avocados (as most have been), not squeezed out of a bag. I think taco bell has better guacamole. I ordered the chalupa with beef and the tostada with chicken. The chalupa was decent but the chicken on tostado was very overcooked and dry. My boyfriend ordered the carne asada which was also overcooked and dry and a bit bland. The rice looked as though they scraped it off the bottom of the pot. I will definitely not be visiting this location again.

This is the best Garibaldi in the chain. Carne Asada tacos are amazing and come with onion and cilantro. Order the guacamole you won't be disappointed! Friendly and fast service.

This is another franchise of the other location in Orlando, this one is nearly the same as the other one with the same food and good atmosphere.

Average at best. Many people rave about this neighborhood joint, but I've always found it to be bland food and average service. Slightly overpriced too. Basically, just run of the mill mexican food.

This place is epic! I ordered the Burritos Rancheros and they were most likely the best burritos I've ever had. I don't usually like my burritos smothered with cheese, but these were different than anything I'd previously encountered. The pork was cut into small chunks that were crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. My only recommendation is to cut back on the sour cream and guacamole; they are completely unnecessary since there is already plenty of flavor. I'm not sure if this restaurant is affiliated with the others of the same name in Orlando, but the web site for this location is restaurantegaribaldi.com

By far the best Mexican food in the Orlando market. It's not fine dining at all, but great authentic food, friendly staff, awesome margaritas and fun atmosphere for all.

Had a very poor experience there. Pork entrees are very very fatty, not acceptable grade meat. Tried to give mgmt opportunity to fix, they simply traded my dish out for another. Come to find out had a new waiter who screwed up the order, put in wrong thing. They werent too apologetic, or even really concerned for that matter. Brought something different 20 minutes later. 95 minutes dinner, and not real satisfied when all said and done. Quality of any entree was not better than local fast food types. Bar menu look impressive, but at stiff prices. Nothing great happening here from a price perspective (or specials, etc). Never did get chips nor salsa, despite asking three times three different people. LOL Wrote in a website OPPORTUNITY FOR IMPROVEMENT. nothing again, but not surprised.

There isn't a lot for dining in the Apopka area, but Garibaldi's is not only local but amazing! This is the best Mexican food I've ever had for the money. You will not leave hungry, it all begins with free chips and salsa, followed by large portions! The drinks are good, happy hour starts at 5 ends at 7 (I think).

  • John L.

I'd previously written a much nicer and higher scoring review. Sadly, the service has sunk to levels that make it impossible for me to recommend this place any longer. The owner and his son are great people who have the right spirit, sadly they seem unable to train their people to allow modifications to orders placed. The owner says, DO IT, the waiters always say NO and it kind of sucks to have to argue each time we want to go. Hey, my wife is a pescatarian and as such, we need to assure no meat in certain dishes. Upcharges? No problem, we expect no less. Let me be clear, the food is great! The owners are fantastic people! Sadly, it is the service that consistently became my biggest issue. If you are ordering from the menu with no changes, you will likely be very pleased here.

  • Randy M.

Without a doubt, and without competition, the best Mexican in Orlando. When guests are in from out of town, even the picky ones, everyone always leaves happy and wanting to come back again. We have dined at G's too many times to count and have never left less than thrilled!

There are now 3 Garibaldi's in the tri-county area. At Garibaldi's, you get authentic and tasty Mexican in a dinner setting at a great price. It is also generally healthy and not greasy like Beto's. This particular Garibaldi's has a very nice atmosphere. It has good seating and lighting. I found that this one has chicken mole poblano, (poblano = from Puebla, where they are famous for introducing the sauce made from chocolate that goes into mole), which you can't get at the Orlando location, but doesn't have Chilaquiles Mexicanos, which you can get over there. Since their chilaquiles are better than their mole, I generally prefer the East Orlando location. But, the rest of the food/booze are equally as good. It's impossible to go wrong with Garibaldi. I haven't been to the MetroWest location on Sand Lake, yet. But I can speak for the Apopka and East Orlando location.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
