Great small town feel and refreshing treats for hot summer days. Try an old timey chocolate or cherry phosphate soda float or the sherbet soda "Gulf Breeze". The girls who made our drinks are fun and friendly. This is a must see.

1/4 old time soda fountain, 3/4 middle-of-the-road gift shop. Would be much more fun if it were simply an old-timey malt shop, but I guess malts don't pay the rent as well as tourist t-shirts and "Danger, Men Drinking" signs. Still, worth checking out if you want an ice cream.

The ice cream was good. The store is still set-up like an old 5 and dime but filled with souvenirs (most marked made in China??? What?). The service was prompt but our server was a little weird. Great place to take the kids. Loved the old soda fountain stool and bar. Wish they would take it all old school and turn it back into a real old school soda fountain.

Blue Bell ice cream was good. Service, not so much. The lady who scooped seemed frazzled and rude. Probably won't go back.

I enjoyed seeing an old fashioned counter with people eating ice cream and the like. The rest of the shop has souvenir type items but I don't think it ruins the feel; you've got something to do while deciding on which flavor to get. The girls working seemed a bit annoyed with us and I didn't like that, but once our orders were taken one of them was nice enough to ask us where we were from. However, I didn't appreciate her referring to my parents as "Do THEY speak English?" I answered her, but a while later I realized how rudely she had phrased it, hmm. Anyways, nothing amazing but the ice cream was good enough. We'll try some place else next time.

I had a cherry ice cream soda and it was awesome. Grew up in this type of soda fountain and so this visit brought back a lot of memories. Good service. We were ther the day before their seafood festival and the town was charming. Great stop.

I officially had the best vanilla shake I have ever had in my life here. OK, well technically it wasn't mine, it was my boyfriend's, but it was SO GOOD!! It only had two ingredients: Vanilla Blue Bell ice cream and milk. Blue Bell ice cream, what more do I need to say. Yes, I know that with two ingredients I could make it at home, but it wouldn't be the same since I wouldn't be surrounded by "No Whining Signs" and tourist chachkis. Also, they don't sell Blue Bell ice cream in SF. Bummer. If you're ever in the area stop by, you won't be sorry.

The ice cream here is the same Blue Bell stuff that they sell everywhere, but it's got a cute old-timey theme going on with the soda fountain counter. I wouldn't say the ice cream is homemade or out-of-this-world. There are a lot of touristy type gifts which are interesting. Visiting this store was a good break from the torturous August heat and strangely, about the only place to sit down inside, in all of Apalachicola.
